Ive been a patient here for 15 years and I couldnt recommend this clinic enough. Dr. Jill Masana is my OB and Ive recommended friends her way. Friendly, prompt, and very knowledgeable on anything I ask or willing to find out and get back to me.
Ive been a patient of Associated Physicians for 20+ years. Ive seen Dr. Everton for most of my time and Dr. Sharma more recently - they are truly amazing physicians who are extremely knowledgeable and great listeners. They are interested in all aspects of a patients life - mental health, general wellbeing, nutrition - that may impact your health and refer to specialists and other resources when needed. The clinic is very well run with all resources - physical therapy, podiatry, labs, nutrition, mammography - in one convenient location. Its easy to get an appointment and staff are always very friendly and helpful.
Dr. McGee was kind and thoughtful with my 10 year old. She focussed her questions for her and waited for answers, really making it about my daughter. The clinic overall was full of helpful staff from the front desk to the MA, we had a great first experience with AP.
My entire family is cared for by the medical professionals at Associated Physicians. We’ve been happy patients for over 10 years. They accept many insurers including Quartz. The clinic has a small town friendly feel but with broad services and state of the art care. The doctors are phenomenal - Dr. Schmehil in Gyn, Dr. Everton in Internal Med, Dr. McGee in Pediatrics. We’ve seen physical therapy and podiatry in clinic as well. All wonderful. I trust them and recommend you do the same.
I changed my primary care provider recently because I wasn’t completely happy with my my previous doctor. Dr Kerndt, Ruby, Kayla and all at Associated Physicians made establishing care a positive and affirming healthcare experience. Thank you for providing quality care !
My wife, Kathryn KRASKE, saw Dr. Rammelkamp on 5/9/ 2024.She said that she and the MA were both superb. Could not have gone better. My wife was very anxious heading into the visit - she had not seen a doctor in several years. The doctor was knowledgeable and empathetic. Could not have been happier.
Dr. Cahill is phenomenal! Both my kids are seen by her and whenever she sees one kid, she always asks how the other is doing. She is caring, thoughtful, and genuine. Not only is she like that to my kids, but also to me. During a newborn visit for my second kid, she took time to ask how I was doing given that I just gave birth. I was having trouble with breastfeeding and she went above and beyond to give me resources when she didnt have to.The pediatric staff are also so compassionate and kind. They are prompt to answering MyChart messages, calling to follow-up, and do their best to schedule my kids to be seen when needed. I am so thankful for the amazing pediatric care team.
My only two visits with associated physicians were terrible. During my first visit I was asked to fill in several forms for my kid which I already filled in online one day before the visit. My daughters medical record from previous pediatric was not pulled over and she cannot take any vaccination because of that. I was told a nurse will call back to schedule her vaccination which I never hear back. My second visit was due to my daughters fever. The doctor examined the possible ear infection after removing her ear wax. She was treated urinary catheter to examine the possible urine infection and the two nurses could not do it after trying two times. I had to drop by again the next day. Eventually she recovered by herself. Two weeks later I got a 160 dollars bill in which 120 dollars was for removing her ear wax. I felt it was not that reasonable since the purpose of the visit was to figure out the reasons of her fever. I contacted billing office and main office several times and I was told that is because the service of removing ear wax belongs to deductible of my insurance. I tried to express my concerns and no one was willing to help. I gave up and paid the bill. I feel like it is a waste of my time and I have two kids to care for. I also switched to another pediatric which I believe cannot be worse than associated physicians. Be sure to remove your kids ear wax before your visit.
We the griffin family Loves Dr Cahill .And these our daughters miss Katy, Miss Sabrina griffin they love 💗 Dr Cahill since they were born.
Dr. Cahill is an outstanding physician. She has been caring for my daughter for many years, and always takes the time to answer our questions, understand our concerns, and help us make informed decisions for the best care. As my daughter has gotten older, she continues to feel comfortable talking to Dr. Cahill about her health questions and needs. Dr. Cahill is warm, welcoming and so knowledgeable, we are so grateful for her!
I had an appointment to get my toe checked out with podiatry for over a month and a few days before I was supposed to be in they finally decided to let me know they cant see me due to insurance. I think thats really unfair. For over a month I couldve had time to figure something else out.
Dr Birschbach was kind and professional. She seemed to care about going a good job and being a good person, always checking for my consent and explaining the process before proceeding. She really listened to what I said and cared about what was important to me about my visit. Definitely would recommend.
The next available appt is in January 2025. They are definitely not open to new patients if the wait is that long. Did not feel welcome or got a friendly vibe.
Like other reviewers, we are long-time pediatrics patients and are disappointed with the quality of follow up and availability of pediatrics visits over the past year. Moving to the model of only having access after hours to out of state nurses and very limited contact possible with my childrens doctor is disconcerting and disappointing. When my son had a potential UTI earlier this year, I was told by an out of state nurse that if I did not immediately take him to urgent care that he might DIE. Nice bedside manner. I did report this situation to AP and they apologized later. Today, my husband called for a Saturday appointment at 8:00 am since they have Saturday hours when my son had been ill with high fevers for three days and he was told go to urgent care, we are too busy for him. If this was a one-time situation, I would understand, but our experiences of appointment availability and access to AP nurses and doctors (instead of farmed-out nurses in distant states) are becoming the driving factor in an overall negative impression. This is sad, because the doctors at Associated Physicians are WONDERFUL but know if you are looking for a new pediatrician that you will have a challenging time actually getting regular access to your childs doctor.
While we love our pediatrician and have had great care during our well child visits, over the last year, we are never able to get our kids in for an appointment if they are sick. We are forced to go to immediate care. We moved from out of state and never had this issue at our last practice (which was a medium sized practice) unless a kid was sick over the weekend. I know this is not unique to AP and UW has some of the same issues. What is the point of having a doctor if you can never see them when you are sick especially with young kiddos who just tend to be more sick and exposed to more junk during cold and flu season. I’ve asked to speak with management and I’m hoping AP is actually working on a solution as they claim.
I have never been more comfortable having a gyne exam in my lifetime. Excellent communication and responsiveness in follow up care.
Wonderful demeanor and thoughtful with responses. Made the check up clear, easy, and comfortable. A delight to have when all you want to do is feel better.
Gil treated me after I had several episodes of self harm. He was caring, compassionate, thoughtful, and very helpful with getting me back to a point of full employment and enjoying life again. I will be forever grateful for his help and care.
My family goes here for OB and pediatric care. We have had great experiences in both clinics and are really happy with the care provided
I can not say enough amazing things about Dr Katy Cahill and her entire staff! She is so caring and really takes the time to connect with each child. She listens and helps the kids feel comfortable asking questions. Definitely would recommend her to anyone looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable pediatrician! Also, we absolutely LOVE nurse Jean! My kids actually look forward to getting vaccines because she’s so quick!
Amazing guy and doctor! He’s so good not only with our son, but he also validates the parents and makes sure that we feel heard as well! I always know that we’re in good hands with Dr. M!!
I have been a lifetime patient at Associated Physicians. I love the Dr, nurses and most of the people that interact with patients. However, the last couple times that I have checked in at the lower level, those women are awful!!! They don’t look up to greet people standing in the hallway, they don’t greet with a pleasant how can I help you. It’s a what’s your name, birthdate and why are you here. And their sign that says be polite, how about they try that themselves!! I will always check in upstairs where they smile and are happy to help. Going downstairs makes me sad at that check in desk. It really sets a negative tone of seeing my dr or having a procedure downstairs when I have to check in at the lower desk.
We switched to AP from Unity Point because our pediatrician moved here and I do love our pediatrician, however, getting an appointment for sick kids is an impossibility. I understand the health care system is stretched to its max, that doctors and nurses are overworked, that its hard to find enough staff, but at some point you have to stop accepting patients if you cant give adequate care. Multiple times Ive been told youll just have to take your kid to urgent care because we dont have openings, if I was still with UnityPoint Im fairly certain theyd find me an opening somewhere in their system and yes I very much understand AP is much smaller and doesnt have that capacity but when your child is sick and youre repeatedly told go to urgent care I guess it doesnt matter how great your pediatrician is if you never see them.Ive had two mammograms here and theyve been wonderful. Many of people Ive encountered have been great. But at this time I cannot recommend because the volume of patients is beyond the capacity of the health care providers. I spent a couple years switching all my familys care to AP, I think its time to switch back out. While I will miss the convenience of everything in the same place and the caring staff - what does it matter if you cant get in to see them?
I felt so seen by the nurse and Dr. Berghahn. I am happy to have found them and will be establishing care with them.
Gil Roth at Associated Physicians is a truly amazing doctor. He is compassionate, caring, and knows his stuff.
We feel very lucky to have Dr. Leslie Riopel as our Pediatrician. Our daughter loves going to the doctor because of her! She always takes the time to address all of our questions and she thoroughly explains treatment options. We know with the highest of confidence that our daughter is in good hands with Dr. Riopel!
Dr. Zoe is everything you could want in a physician. She is highly intelligent, kind, compassionate, and has a great personality. She is knowledgeable in her profession, always takes time to answer all of your questions. Thanks, Dr Rammelkamp.Julie Buhr
I have been a patient at Associated Physicians since 2019 when I became pregnant with my son. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with my OB Dr. Amanda Schmeil-Miklos. She is extremely warm, caring, and calming throughout my pregnancy and after care. She was patient with my questions and helped me through the stress of a 1st pregnancy during the height of the pandemic. My son now sees Dr. Nicole Ertl in the pediatrics department and I have recommended her to many friends moving to the area. Dr. Ertl is kind and engaging with my son and feels like a friend in her delivery of reasonable parental recommendations. Wholeheartedly recommend Associated Physicians!
Can not speak highly enough of Dr. Masana & her nurse Steph in the OB/Gyn department. They are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, & so personable! They went above & beyond to listen to my questions/concerns & to create a trusting, professional relationship. I felt like I was in great hands! As someone who works in healthcare, I was VERY impressed with their professions practice! Would recommend Dr. Masana & her staff to anyone!!
My family has been going here for several years. I know healthcare is tough today, but I literally feel like they scammed me. My daughter had a wellness check up and during the wellness check up I discovered a tick in her hair, I told the doctor, the doctor pulled it out with tweezers end of the tick. Then I received a bill for 800 and something dollars for an “extraction”. My insurance paid most of it which I feel was a scam and they would only pay so much because they also feel it was a scam. The place is growing, just in a business way not in a good way.
I was able to see Dr. Schwartz for my OB care and could not say enough good things about the clinic! All of the OB physicians were thorough and eased my anxieties as a new mom.I also take my son to see Dr. Marchant in Pediatrics. He has assisted us so much in this chapter of parenthood! We also met Dr. Ertl and Dr. McGee when our primary pediatrician was not in and could not say enough good things about them! They all have such great personalities, beyond personable and treat our little Reg like family.
I feel comfortable, safe and at least somewhat heard at associated physicians. That is rare nowadays I feel. Dr Fothergill and Megan— as well as a handful of their close colleagues— actually care. They go above and beyond. I want them to know that they are very much appreciated. You are in good hands with the right team at associated physicians.
I cannot say enough good things about my familys experience at AP! Dr. Amanda Schmehil Miklos is my OB and was wonderful throughout my very stressful experience being pregnant for the first time during the height of the pandemic. We then chose Dr Cahill for our sons pediatrician and she has also been wonderful. She is a font of knowledge for us first-time parents while also being very personable and friendly. The doctors and nurses I have met seem to really care.
I have been a patient at AP now since 2015. Even after moving 30 minutes outside of Madison, knowing I can find a more convenient location for myself, children, and husband, we will drive however long it takes to keep our care here. We have always been treated with respect and our concerns have never gone unacknowledged.I receive my primary care from Dr. Fothergill & OB/GYN care from Dr. Schmehil-Micklos and could never speak highly enough of these providers. Dr. Schmehil was with me through both of my pregnancies and c-sections and I always felt heard and that all options were provided to me and discussed with me.Both of my kids see Dr. McGee and I could not be more grateful for her exceptional care, compassionate bedside manner, and true investment in their well being. We have seen many peds in the group over the years and to say they are outstanding is an understatement.Yes, there has been staff turnover. Yes, COVID-19 has rocked the healthcare system including AP. But they have handled this pandemic with care, understanding, and flexibility. There will always be experiences that are less than ideal no matter where you go, but when you feel valued as a person and family, not just as a patient, thats when you know youve found the right place.
Dr Schroeder has been my podiatrist for over 10 years. She is an excellent doctor. She cares about my feet and always encourages me to continue the activities that bring me joy! I am a nurse. I have seen many podiatrists and can recognize excellence in healthcare. Dr Schroeder is the best!!
The physicians I have met have been pretty good, the scheduling has messed a few times in making appointments for me I didnt approve of, or debating with me that my Dr ordered blood work for me once. On top of which we have had some really poor customer service experience. My family and I, with the nurse practitioners and medical assistants. Who have terrible attitudes. It reflects on the whole facility. Been going here years as it is close but I have had better experiences in the attitudes you get time to time.
This is another post about enjoying the care and physicians here, but having a horrible experience with the greedy approach of the administrators.I set up an appointment as a new patient and waited the (fairly typical) 3 months to have my first visit. The day before the visit, I get a call saying they cant fit me in for a full check-up and asked if I was comfortable with them splitting the visit in two - 1 as a meet and greet and 1 as a check-up. I did not want this, but I was explicitly told that if I rescheduled for a single appointment, itd be another 4-5 months before they could fit me in. Fine, I re-arranged my plans to make this work. I had a pointless 30-minutes appointment where no checkup was done and nothing was accomplished - I still am unsure of the point - and then returned 4 weeks later for the actual checkup.Even though they forced these two appointments, they greedily billed me for both. I called and explained the situation - frustrated I had to spend another 30 minutes to get this wrongful bill resolved - to learn that this is not only common, its actually expected. I explained how I was the one inconvenienced by this practice and although the person I spoke to understood, she had no authority to remove the additional $200 charge. When I spoke to the person in billing, she shared that this was a common complaint from their patients, an indication that this is actually by design to bilk more money from their customers. This is outright thievery and is a strategy of theirs to squeeze more money out of their patients. My insurance company insists this is inaccurate and advised me not to pay it. The bill remains outstanding and without resolution.Be warned, this group may have good physicians, but they are predatory in how they will bill you.Update: Moving this from 1 star to 3 stars as this was acknowledged by Associated Physicians and although they were unwilling to admit any fault, they allowed for an exception in this instance.
Ive been very fortunate to call Dr. Amanda Schmehil-Micklos my OBGYN for the last 7.5 years. I can confidently say that Dr. Schmehil-Micklos is the best provider that I have ever worked with, regardless of specialty. Over the last 7 years, she had provided general reproductive healthcare and has also been a key ally and support during a recent emergency situation where she showed up at the emergency room in the middle of the night to provide compassionate care when she was on call at Meriter in labor and delivery. She remembers your history, and she attends to the whole person rather than the medical problem at hand. Several of my friends and family members also see Dr. Schmehil-Miklos, and they have all had similarly fantastic experiences.
Overall, I received adequate baseline pregnancy/ob-gyn and delivery care, but there were several things about this practice that were upsetting. 1) Dr. Schmehil was condescending and aloof. Condescending about weight and questions, aloof with special moments (seeing the 10 wk heartbeat on the monitor). 2) The reception staff were consistently rude in the obgyn department (but the ones upstairs in peds were great the couple of times we saw them). 3) I never met all of the practitioners before delivery (as promised), and Dr. Berghahn seemed in a rush to get me out of the delivery room, advocating for an unnecessary c-section. The positives: there was one nurse at the practice who was absolutely cheery, kind, and amazing. Dr. Schwartz (who I saw for most of my appointments) was kind, respectful, and reasonable. I especially would not recommend this practice for first-time moms who are looking for a deeper level of compassion and health care.
From the front desk team members to the docs, everyone at AP has been very kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Jill Masana is my favorite OB/GYN I’ve ever had—it’s hard to find doctors like her who bring equal parts competence and compassion to the patient experience. I’m happy with the speed to appointment time compared to other providers in the area as well.
Dr. Nicole Ertl is AMAZING! As a Latina at times it is hard to find cultural sensitive care in Madison. She is beyond knowledgeable in how being bilingual & bicultural can impact development (I.e. language development with my bilingual child). She is so personable, always remember events in our lives, and just amazing with my boys. It feels like you are talking to a friend and not just a “doctor” who can sometimes be condescending. And in times of medical needs for my boys, she has fit us into her schedule when she didn’t even have availability instead of having them see a different doctor. She is caring, nice, and funny. This year I literally stayed with Quartz (that was a higher rate this year than a different insurance) solely so that my boys can continue to see her. If you need a great pediatrician, this is it!
Dr. Robert Olson is a caring and compassionate partner in your healthcare. He is always looking for what is best for you as a whole person and your medical needs! I highly recommend him as your primary care doctor.
If our first visit wasnt so good I would rate this pace zero stars. Im extremely upset because being told I need to find a different office for my 4 year old son because my secondary insurance is not accepted the day before his appointment is very frustrating. I called to ask about what shots my son would be receiving for his 4 year old check up and I ended up being told they could not see us because of my secondary insurance. Now I understand this but what I dont like nor understand is the lack of communication and advance notice I was given. No on called to inform me about this nor was I told about this when I made the appointment 2 month prior. Here I am the day before his appointment to ask about shots only to fins out he wont be able to be seen. Im frustrated because I now need to find a new doctors office to see my son while also racing the clock because he needs a physical checkup for daycare and without it he cant go to daycare which means I cant work until he get seen and cleared. Im new to the Madison area and had high hope for this place. I feel their poor communication along with poor understanding is hindering and above all upsetting. Do better,
I absolutely love my OB here, which is why I thought I would also love the pediatricians. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Stay far, far away from the pediatrician group. They couldn’t care less about your child, and will try their best to spend as little time as possible with them. I transferred my newborns care to another pediatrician and was so stunned by the difference in treatment that I felt compelled to warn people away. Use a different physicians office for the sake of your child.
I began seeing Dr Schwartz during my first pregnancy. I was immediately impressed with how much time she spent getting to know us personally and making sure we felt comfortable during every part of the pregnancy. I never felt judged or embarrassed to ask any questions or talk about concerns. I have seen several OB/GYN doctors at Northwestern and in Indiana, and I have never felt as comfortable with anyone as I do with Dr Schwartz. Highly recommend! My son has seen Dr Marshant and Dr Ertl, and I would recommend either if you are looking for a Pediatrician for your child. They both have a great sense of humor and have helped us navigate each stage of our sons development as well as the parenting process.Unlike any other practice that I have visited, the doctors at Associated Physicians do not seem like they are being pressured to see as many patients as possible. I feel like my family is getting the highest quality of care at every appointment. The Keurig machines are pretty sweet too!
I have been fortunate to find Dr. Everton as my PCP. She’s very chill and nonjudgmental, and does not run unnecessary tests to rake in the cash. At the same time, I trust she’ll let me know if there is an issue with my health.Dr. Sharma is also excellent. She took the time to be sure I was comfortable and explained everything that was going on during a semi-invasive procedure. I felt like she saw me as a person, not a number in her busy schedule. Will return for future OB/GYN needs. I’d trust her with my life.I’m leaving 4 stars and not 5 because it is a bit hard to get appointments at times. Probably due to popularity of the Dr.’s and COVID disruptions. Though the clinic does now offer a callback feature as others have mentioned.
Arrived for my appointment 20 minutes before its scheduled time, then sat in the waiting room for a total of 50 minutes. No one at any point came out to give me a reason for my extended wait time. Decided to leave as I clearly wasnt getting any service. As I was leaving I stopped at the receptionist and politely told her I was leaving and simply asked to not be billed for this appointment at which time she made me feel bad for not being patient enough. I am now looking for a new physician and will not go back to Associated Physicians.
Visiting this clinic felt like going to a prison. The reception staff are condescending and stone-faced. They prefer talking on the phone to helping people in person. The doctors I met with did not encourage conversation or questions. They often treated me like a child by giving me the simplest, shortest possible answers. Very frustrating. My doctor was often not there and I instead was seen by a nurse, I never met all of the doctors before I gave birth like I was told I would. Communication was also poor. They called in an emergency ultrasound without telling me. I got the call from the hospital telling me I needed an appointment asap. Very frustrating care. I do not recommend this clinic for obstetrics/gynecology.
I have NEVER left a negative review for any person or business before, but I felt compelled to share my experience with Gil Roth. I brought my 12 year old son, who is struggling with anxiety and having panic attacks to see him after he was referred to us by my son’s pediatrician. I purposely made the appointment for late afternoon because I knew that pulling my son from his morning classes would cause him even more stress and anxiety. A few days before the appointment, the office staff called and asked me if I could come in at 8 AM instead. My son was really struggling, and I didn’t want to reschedule, so I agreed. After meeting with Gil Roth, he said that he would speak with my son’s pediatrician and we would proceed from there. When I did not hear back from him after several days, I called the office. I was told that he was in with a client and he would get back to me. When I did not hear back from him, I called a few days later. I was told that he had been out of the office since last Thursday. However, it was Friday that I had previously called and was told that he was with a client. He never did call me back. I am not sure why he did not want to help my son, but you would think that he would have the decency and the professionalism to tell me so. It is not easy to find an available therapist now, and I could have started my search two weeks earlier had I known. Obviously he did not care about the well-being of my son. Will he care about you or your child?
Dr Kerndt was exceptionally thorough in my exam. I was impressed with his hands-on approach, and his willingness to converse and share his thoughts. I liked him and felt he was highly knowledgeable.
Dr. Amy has been great for our son. She is great at listening and understanding where we are coming from in order to create a care plan. She has been a great advocate for navigating our sons needs. We are so glad we found Associated Physicians.
I truly respect medical professionals and am grateful for their work, especially during the COVID 19. So I am not thrilled to be writing this review, but after multiple negative incidents over 3 years. I feel that I need to give fair warnings to those who are considering becoming a patient here. The administrative personnel and nurses lack professionalism and understanding. I have been scolded by a nurse on the phone for requesting to get my medicine early from my regular pharmacy due to an upcoming trip where I would not have transportation access. After being denied, requested to send my prescription to the new temporary location, waited two days, and hired a ride to the pharmacy just to find out that they sent it to the wrong address. No answer on when it would be fixed, and had to arrange another ride. I have also been asked by a nurse if it was necessary for me to see the doctor, or if I could just schedule a test... after I explained to them that I had been sick for three days on antibiotics that werent helping me. If you would like to be treated with respect, and decency by your health care professionals in your time of medical need, this is not the place for you.
I am a very new patient at Associated Physicians. I decided to enroll as a patient there because my husband has had such good care at the clinic. When he telephones the nurse, they respond as promptly as they can to his concern. If they think his issue may be urgent, they find a way to see him quite promptly too. Dr. Michael Goldrosen has managed his health problems with care and consistency. We appreciate their accessibility and professionalism.
I see Dr. Masana for my Gynecology care and she is excellent. So caring and compassionate. She really takes the time to listen to my concerns and explains things well when I have questions. She is a wonderful doctor.
I highly recommend Dr. Jill Masana in OB/GYN. She is incredibly professional at presenting every option for a patients needs. Ive always struggled to find a doctor who truly listens to their patients, but never once in any appointment with her have I felt judged or had my concerns ignored. She goes above and beyond to show that she respects and cares about her patients. I always have some hesitation with going to the doctor, but she makes it an enjoyable experience.
I started going to AP in 2001 and the Doctors, Nurses and Staff were amazing! Moving forward to current times, I am Extremely disappointed with the level of Customer Service in the billing / check-in area, and the rudeness travels back to the nurses stations and even the Physicians. Lets just say the primary concern is NOT for the Patient. I will not return and do not recommend!
I am giving this review a 1 start due to my poor office visit with a different provider. Overall with my PCP Dr. Everton, things are wonderful and I highly recommend her.I had to get sutures out and saw the NP Picone. I would NOT reccomend anyone to see this provider. She did not introduce herself or even confirm who I was when she came. When they started taking the sutures out, I had a decent amount of pain and she made no effort to stop or even try and be gentler. They then proceeded to use dull scissors which caused them to pull on the stitches even more and delaying the process. I asked them if they could get sharper scissors because it was painful and they said that was all they had. I then asked them if they could get a new suture kit and they said this was a new one. They proceeded to take my sutures out without any regard for my pain and discomfort (they put me in an incredibly awkward position on the table). At the end they almost forgot to remove the last suture and I had to tell them. I am very disappointed with this experience as I have been going to AP for 24 years and work in healthcare myself.
Dr Birschbach had a Wonderful “bedside” manner. Very thorough with a nice sense of humor. Highly recommend.
Pediatricians are amazing, friendly several are clearly parents who understand. The other day I almost took my 6 week old to UW urgent care because one of her eyes kept crusting over and I was concerned that it was infected after being told the wait would be 2-2.5 hrs I remembered that Associated physicians where my kids now go has an on call pediatrician. In the past calling after hours meant nurse direct who always says go in to be safe. The pediatrician asked questions determined that my daughter probably didnt need to be seen right away that it wasnt an infection, but a clogged tear duct. She explained how to do a tear duct massage. I was able to resolve my daughters issue on my own this way which saved me considerable time. It also saved me from having to have my baby in the germy waiting room for hours.
This is a small clinic that I was happy to discover years ago. Wonderful doctors and some of the best pediatric nurses in town. We bring our kids here and we have our PCP here, both have been great experiences for us. They do book up quick, so schedule your appointment in advance.
I have gone to Associated Physicians for both my primary care and my OBGYN. I see Dr. Masana for my OBGYN needs and she is lovely. 5/5 for her. I am writing this review because of the woman I saw as my primary care physician, Dr. Dhillon. I saw her in 2019 and haven’t been to the doctors since because it was such a negative experience. She was very straightforward, which is fine, but when it came to my weight and body she was very rude. I knew I needed to lose some weight which is a sensitive topic for me and I assume for most people. Dr. Dhillon felt that the appropriate way to approach this topic was to ask “what’s your weight loss plan?” We had not been discussing that in any way, so I was pretty taken aback. I told her I didn’t have one, to which she replied “you need one”. I felt totally overwhelmed and started crying. She did not try to comfort me; she just continued on with the appointment. This whole situation was incredibly triggering for me, and I can’t believe that was how she brought up my needing to lose weight. I will not go back to Dr. Dhillon and I absolutely cannot recommend her. That being said, my other experiences with doctors and staff at Associated Physicians has been positive.
AMBIANCE & CLEANLINESS: The main floors, waiting rooms, and doctors offices are well-lit, very clean, and comfortably small without feeling too crowded or enclosed. There are water fountains and Keurig machines with plenty of pods to choose from in the several waiting rooms; eco-friendly paperware is supplied.RECEPTION: Receptionists are discreet, friendly, and pretty quick.OFFICE VISIT: I had an appointment in the OB-GYN department, and my nurse came out to get me exactly at my scheduled appointment time. I waited hardly five minutes in the waiting room. She took my vitals and went through a thorough background and health history with me. When she left, Dr. Jill Masana came in less than five minutes later (again, almost zero waiting time, which I really appreciated), to give me my breast and pelvic exams and reaffirm her nurses previous health history. She explained to me everything she was going to do before she did it, and everything she was doing as she did it, which showed a great deal of respect for and trust with me, her patient. She sat with me and patiently explained why she was prescribing this pill instead of that one, answered all of my questions, and I left feeling very taken care of by my provider(s).OVERALL: A+. I will be sticking with Associated Physicians, and Dr. Masana, for as long as my insurance covers it.
Dr. Marchant is wonderful! Incredibly friendly and made our kids comfortable through their entire visit. Also did a great job connecting with me as the parent!
I used to be a patient at AP for almost 3 years. After the pandemic, it seems their focus has shifted from patient care to bill collections. NP Picone is terrible as a healthcare provider. I had to miss one appointment because of family emergency. A few days later, I got a letter from NP Picone saying I should not have missed the appointment because I would have wasted her time. That was a terrible interaction and ultimately made me stop coming there.
Dr. Marchant is the most down-to-earth, caring and knowledgeable pediatrician we’ve worked with. Our kids talk about him as if he’s a part of our family and are excited when we get to go in and “visit” him at the clinic. No question has ever felt too small or silly to ask.
After switching jobs, and having a temporary insurance plan through the market plan, we decided to wait until a more familiar plan and wanted to reschedule our 2 appointments for both children. When telling a receptionist our desire to reschedule she said, well the one good thing about ObamaCare is all routine exams for woman and children are covered. So I arrived at our appointment and expressed concerns again and now for the second time the receptionist confirmed what she said and told me there would be no copay and that childrens routine wellness exams were covered and there would be, no fee for either appointment and whatever my insurance didnt cover it would be covered with Obamacare. Fast forward a couple weeks later and almost $2,000 later!! Liars. Horrible. Wont be returning
My son was a patient of dr leslie Riopel, we only chose her bc the dr we wanted wasnt accepting anymore patients and it was the absolute worst experience seeing her treat my newborn son, like who digs ear wax out of a little 2 month olds ears! She was very unwelcoming and had a snotty personality. We switched Drs immediately after she lodged an ear digger in our newborns ear, and to find out a couple weeks later he had an ear infection(positive its because of her!!). Choose anyone but her shes a nightmare.
Disappointment on so many levels. They had no clue why I was there? Ask why I came in .. had to point out the details, which if PA took a moment to review would of realized I have major concerns. Dr Fothergill spent more time pushing her agenda on Covid than she did on my appointment. Never heard back on my lab results.. and this is why my pets get better care at their vet. Moving onto a functional medical doctor.
As a patient of Associated Physicians for over 20 years, I have nothing but praise for the physicians, nurses and other staff at the clinic. Just walking in the door one can feel the warmth and caring of everyone who works there.Primarily, I am seen by my internist but have also been able to see any specialists needed at the clinic - it is so nice to have it all in one spot.I can say with complete confidence that Associated Physicians is a true jewel here in Madison.. - Devoted Physicians/Trusted Care - this sums up what Associated Physicians is all about.
I have been a patient of Dr. Berghahns for about 3 years now. My Obstetrics history is quite lengthy, having experienced five miscarriages prior to the birth of our miracle baby and one miscarriage after. After transferring my OB care to Dr. Berghahn after my second miscarriage I immediately noticed a difference from the previous practice. She really took the time to get to know both me and my husband, talk about my history, and come up with a plan for the future. She was supportive of me seeing specialists when it became clear there was something more complex going on and was always willing to work with my other doctors to ensure I was getting what I needed for a healthy pregnancy. I will never forget after my third loss the voicemail Dr. Berghahn left for me. She told me about an article she had just read and how the statistics for a successful pregnancy were almost exactly the same for me as it would be for someone who had never had a loss. It meant so much to me that she would take the time to call me just to reassure and encourage me.I am now the mother of a thriving 6 month old baby girl and was especially lucky that Dr. Berghahn was the doctor on call the night I gave birth. It seemed so fitting. She had been with us from the start and I am so thankful she got to experience our happy ending with us too.I would highly recommend Dr. Berghahn or any of the providers at Associated Physcians. I have never experienced such a high level of care for me, the patient, as I have at AP.
I am new to the Madison area and saw Dr. Amy Fothergill when I came down with a sinus infection and hadnt established care yet. I was able to get in to see her the same day that I called in which was excellent. She was very thorough and took her time in the room with me to get to know me and showed that she cared. GREAT experience!
They need some improvement on customer service/scheduling.I set up an appointment as a new patient back in November, and was scheduled with the first available physician who was offering in-person appointments (specifically in-person, not via tele-medicine). The appointment was for today, Dec 30th.Yesterday afternoon, AP called to reschedule my appointment because they were going to delay opening due to weather (snow). Fair enough, and we moved the appointment to be a few hours later.Around 5:30pm, I got an automated call that my appointment had been canceled due to weather, and Id be contacted about rescheduling. This morning, I got a voicemail around 8am saying they needed to talk to me before the appointment. I called back within a few minutes, but got a recording saying the clinic was closed (although the recording mentioned an opening time of 7:30am). The voicemail asked me to call back, and said the clinic would open at 9am, but *did not* say I needed to wait till then to call back.Starting at 9am, I called repeatedly (since my rescheduled appointment was for 10:15am, I needed to find out right away if it was actually happening). I continued to get the recording about the office being closed till around 9:20, when someone answered.I was told that the doctor I was scheduled with was unavailable (I assume due to weather), but could do a Zoom appointment. I said that I specifically needed an in-person appointment. The person on the phone tried pretty hard to talk me into doing the Zoom appointment anyway, since by doing so, Id be established as a patient and could get an appointment with my doctor (Dr. Dhillon) more quickly. But then he mentioned that Dr. Dhillon would be leaving the practice in the near future anyway!I told him I did not want to do a Zoom appointment, and needed an in-person visit. He then looked at the schedule, and told me the earliest I could reschedule for is March 9th (thats more than 2 months away!).I did not want to do a Zoom appointment that wouldnt be able to address the reason for my visit - that would just force me to pay for an unnecessary appointment. Please improve communication around appointments. Its very confusing to reschedule an appointment and then get an automated message telling me its canceled. Additionally, when calling about appointments in the next few hours, it would be good to actually have a way to call back. (And, when you say that youll be opening at 9am, its frustrating to not be able to call until 20 minutes after that!)Also, if you have to cancel an appointment, its very frustrating to have to wait 2 more months.
I WAS a new patient; Outrageous prices! Nice facilities though. I guess now I know why. I went in for a sprained ankle, just to make sure it wasnt fractured. I got an x-ray as expected. The doctor asked if I had an ankle brace at home and I said no, not thinking much of it. She came back with one, the normal kind that anyone can get at a pharmacy. I got a bill for over $200. I thought it was because of the x-ray. I looked closely at the bill. $168.75 for the ankle brace...WAIT WHAT?!! I found the same one online for $27 and another model for $16. This was the second instance. I also had blood work done. I had asked for a full blood work-up based on what my last doctor had been doing. Without telling me, they instead only checked 4 numbers. 4. single. numbers. The bill was also over $200. I called and said I could go to Quest and get the full blood work-up (a list of over 60 numbers) for $189. I have to say that they were NOT reasonable on the phone, when I was speaking with the billing dept.. I presented all my evidence as to why the prices were exorbitant and they just argued curtly. Not very nice. When I said I wasnt paying the bill, they said ok and that they would let management know of my decision and the complaint. I never heard anything and just kept getting bills. Now after MANY months of work to find and get appointments with a healthcare professional and to establish care (so that I CAN get appointments with specialists that I NEED), I will now have to start over and move on to a practice that values people over money and clear communication over silent price gouging. This is wrong and sad. I am out of work, have good insurance through my wife, but cant afford these outrageous HIDDEN costs. Its not like the doctor said, hey you can get this brace for 30 bucks if you dont want to spend $169 bucks for the same thing. THAT would be transparent. That would be fair and right. The prices are WRONG. The lack of transparency is wrong. The lack of negotiation is wrong. THEY negotiate with insurance companies....Arent patients afforded that same right? Or are we just effed because we signed that we would pay WHATEVER it is... disgraceful that this is medicine. Im sure Ill get a response saying Sorry and that I should call the billing department to work it out. You call and work it out. I am not getting paid to do this..YOU ARE and well.
We love you Dr Cahill! So cool to see you on the news and find out where we can find you.The last few years have tested us all.I will be calling your office to see if you can give the girls a good check up.
Clinic is very nice overall however dr. Fothergill very not helpful. For every condition i had her only recommendation is Tylenol and time. Well needless to say after my visit last week i end up at urgent care at UW, thankfully they were able to immediately find that i had a severe strep, gave me steroids to get the throat swelling down so i can breathe and put me on the antibiotics. Dr Fothergill is so unwilling to even listen. Im not a frequent doctor goer. I visit a clinic maybe twice a year only for annual check up and if i feel really sick and all other in home cures dont work. She is like a broken record .... tylenol and time. dont waste your time. Pediatrics on the other hand - Awesome !
Every time I call, I have had to wait an hour or two and still am on hold. I have yet to actually ever talk to someone at Associated Physicians. Its very frustrating as someone who needs to talk to patients providers and isnt able to. Doesnt matter what time of day I call either. Other people have said they dont have this problem but I always do. Its so frustrating and I wish something could be done.
Ive been going to Associated Physicians OB/GYN since I moved back from CA, and they always provide amazing care! I love all of the nurses and doctors there, and would recommend them to anyone! So far all of the doctors that have seen me in OB/GYN were the best, but Dr. Schmehil is amazing. I feel fortunate to have this team support my woman-health!
Dr Rammelkamp treats me as an individual and asks me a lot of questions about my specific circumstances, rather than trying to apply some sort of template.
Am very pleased with good care at Associated Physicians.
Dr. Berghan (OB/GYN)saved my life after a horrible case of HELLP. She went on to help and support me through a pregnancy very soon after the last tragic one. She showed a rare level of care, compassion, and respect for my choices. She paid the utmost attention to all of me and the the baby- not just tests and charts. I now am blessed with wonderful health and the family I always dreamed of, my three beautiful children. On that note, Dr. Margaret Wilcots cannot be beat once your babies are in your arms. She has seen my son from an 2 hr newborn to a full 61 young man all the way. She is respectful, has wonderful advice, and you cannot beat the AWESOME pediatric nurses!!! Cant lose with this team. Love them all.
I have followed Dr. Berghahn from a prior practice to AP. She actively listens, objectively provides options and there is no doubt she has all facets of my health in mind. I have interacted with other AP staff and had great experiences as well. I highly recommend AP as I have yet to have a better healthcare advocate.
Appointment with the physician was fine, but the business office messed up my billing and ultimately the services they billed me for felt like a bait and switch. The 15min telehealth visit was not valuable enough to offset the business office headache and frustration. I will be looking for a new healthcare provider.
They lack professionalism and consistency. Im barley ever able to get ahold of anyone, and on top of that everytime I ask for a call back to refill a prescription or any medical question they wait all day then call when theyre closing and hang up quickly. The cherry on top of everything is if you miss 3 appointments in a 12month period they discontinue you as a patient REAL CONVENIENT when your unable to get ahold of staff here.
Ive had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Amy Fothergill--she is a warm and caring physician and also thorough in her questions and knowledgeable. She takes the time to find out what course of treatment makes the most sense of you as an individual, which I greatly appreciate. I highly recommend her!
Had an OBGYN appointment here for the first time and they were so wonderful! Very helpful in answering all my questions and not judgmental or uncomfortable. Would very much recommend to anyone who Is looking for a new practitioner. Dr. Jill Masana was great.
When you call to make an appointment they won’t let you. The triage nurse has to call you back which takes all day and by that time there are no appointments left. I’ve never been to an office that you can’t make an appointment at
My daughter previously saw dr cahill at a different clinic.she is very personable and easy to talk to
The appointments I have had have been at least 25 minutes longer than it needed to be. I was waiting so long for the doctor in the room that i fell asleep. Staff were not very helpful and didnt seem interested in listening. I wish UW had an orthopedic doctor, so I didnt have to go here.
Our toddler is so excited to see the doctor & has been known to give the nurse a high five after getting her vaccines. :)
I would have given negative stars if it was an option. If you want to be lied to by the doctors (Jill Masana) and nurses (Ashley P) in OBGYN you have been warned. I was a patient for over 6 years and had told them several times of an allergic reaction and it was never documented. I need special medication and was told that when I need it they had no problem calling the pharmacy. HUGE LIE!!! They want me to come back in once again so they can fatten their bank accounts from my insurance. I have told my friends and family of this disgraceful and disgusting operation. And none of us will be returning. But we will keep posting negative reviews so the public can be aware of the dishonestly and careless, reckless handling of medical records.
Ive been going here for decades. Its a great clinic with great doctors. Never have to wait long for an appointment or for labs. Very efficient and very cost effective for those with high deductible health plans.
UPDATE: After I posted a review with an unpleasant experience I had yesterday when trying to set up an appointment, the company messaged me right away that they were looking into the issue, and this morning I also received a phone call in which they apologized and did everything they could to take care of my needs. I appreciate the responsiveness and their eagerness to correct the issue.
The Doctors are nice and not overly pushy on things you don’t want. However the person who gives shots does them all in one leg and I was told by our new doctor they aren’t suppose to do that.
I love this clinic, I have two doctors from this clinic and both of them are great, and are even comfortable seeing complex medical issues, which is just great for me!
I love Dr. Everton. She always had a listening ear, and I felt like she cared. Unfortunately, because of an insurance change, I had to leave.
Dr. Rainwater is amazing with both of our boys, she is really good about explaining what she is doing and keeping them in the loop. We have had excellent experiences with everyone here and would recommend them to anyone.
I have seen Dr. Fothergill in the past and felt I received excellent care from her. I had a great experience with everyone I encountered at the clinic!
Thanks to Dr. Schroeders diagnosis and treatment, I was able to take a bucket list trip to Europe and enjoy being able to walk and climb stairs without the pain I once experienced.
Ive only been here for one visit so far but they were able to get me in the day I started not feeling well and the internal medicine doctor that I saw was very nice! I will definitely be going back and recommending them to all my friends!
Dr. Ewalt is not just an exceptional physician but a compassionate, caring and thoughtful person! Thank you and Blessings to the entire AP Team!
Dr Masana has been great! All staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.
Great physicians! Was easily able to get an appointment and felt extremely cared for.
Amazing Dr! Highly recommend!!!
They have an online check in which makes things goes smoother and quicker. Spacious waiting area.
Excellent care from Dr Olson and all the pediatricians and nurses for our two kids for over 18 years
I was told she retired. Why is her face still on the site?
Doctors and nurses take time to listen and are thoughtful and informed about the advice they share.
Outstanding clinic with excellent adult and world class pediatrics. Highly recommend.
I love them ♥️
Great communication friendly nice and knowledgeable.
Dr. Ertl is the absolute best. Hands down.
Excellent care from Dr. Barbara Burns and her staff!
The best podiatry in Madison.
Fantastic care for our two kids
This place is great
Very professional with his work. I love his energy. He treats my children spectacularly. I love having him as a pediatrician. I recommend him 100%
