I had my first appt. here 10/26/23 I just want to say I could not of been treated any better. I had Emily Sparks, Verna was my nurse and two other ladies that I can,t remember their names, sorry ladies these ladies were just fantastic. I would recommend Health & Obstetrics to any woman. The only place that I,m going. Keep up the good work ladies you all have a special place in my heart. Natalie Hinkle
Went to Mon health in morgantown.. i complained amd complained that I was having Abnormal pain ( I was pregnant) in my lower abdomen area..Everyone kept saying it was normal because I wasnt bleeding or leaking fluids..I could NOT walk up steps, get out of bed ect ect.. 3rd pregnancy- I KNEW something was wrong... NO ONE WOULD LISTEN.... thankfully I went to Weston ( which was NOT any better ) BUT Dr.Carolyn Moyers from Texas was there by time I was getting ready to try Charleston... Dr.Carolyn did a ultrasound ( I hadnt had one in 3 months- even with my complaints) and my Emiatic fluid was 2.2!!!!!!!Was rushed for C-section and she fight my insurance company to approve it...You Dr. And nurse Practitioners Should Be ashamed of yourselves for NOT LISTENING to your patents!!!!I could have lost my daughter and myself because of your Negligence!!!!!!!
I had a nurse wrongfully diagnose me and it was the most awful experience of my life. I’ve had endometriosis and have been on medication for about 3 years now. I was talking with LISA who works at Mon Health Gynecology and she told me “you don’t have endometriosis”. When I talked to my actual doctor and insurance they had only the opposite to say. When I called to ask why she had told me wrong information and she didn’t answer and danced around the question. This was incredibly hurtful and a terrible experience. I will be switching doctors as soon as I can. No wonder this place has such a low star rating.
I delivered my first child here last summer and we are currently expecting our second. I absolutely LOVE this OB practice! They put a strong emphasis on mental health, both during pregnancy and post partum which is SO important. I like that I get to see all the providers prior to giving birth so that I am comfortable with whoever is working the day of the big event. The Birth Center staff are also SUPER sweet and enjoyable to be around, which for extended stays is more important than actually liking your doctor since the nurses do most of the hands on work!
I’ll recommend Mon Health OBGYN to any and everyone who will listen! I got nothing but exceptional care with all of the providers that I saw and had a phenomenal birth experience. Every provider has been professional, caring, and knowledgeable.
My experience at Mon dates back to when it was the private practice, Women’s Healthcare. Starting in 2013 with my first pregnancy, I chose to be followed by the midwives because I wanted more personalized care and a natural approach. Pregnancies 1,2 & 3 were phenomenal experiences at WHC with the midwives. I liked them all, there were always at least 3 of them but Gail and Rhonda were the main two who were always there. In early 2018 Rhonda moved away and In early 2019 when I returned to the new joint office MonHealth OBGYN, for my 4th pregnancy, I signed right up to be followed by Gail Rock as she was the only one still there. Not that she wasn’t already my favorite! ;) First appointment went well and we were all excited for a 4th round of an amazing experience. Only to be told before my next appointment that they had let her go and that I could just see the doctors there. Ummm NO! 😤😡Due to the financial circumstances I was under, I had to stay with Mon OB. If it were MY personal choice I would have followed her in a heartbeat! (As so many have by the way!!) Hospital staff at MonGeneral have always been amazing and I’ve had no issues with them thus far and would recommend them to anyone! This review isn’t geared towards them. However, the OB office has went downhill. The care you receive from an OB is NOT the same. Your appointments are rushed and You feel like a number on a paycheck VS a person. The doctors talk to you like you don’t know what your talking about and they’re the only ones who could possibly be right about something.. It’s truly sad that they made this decision out of greed and jealousy. Midwives were an asset to that practice and hospital. Without them, it will never be the same.
I am pregnant with my first. The OB I was seeing for the first 7 months I was pregnant retired, and i found out from the receptionist while scheduling my 1 week follow up. The OB they switched me to is great, but has been on vacation for 2 weeks, including today (my due date). On top of being shuffled from doctor to doctor, I was told at 38w that I would be induced at 39. I made plans at work to begin my FMLA, they hired a temp to replace me, and I went in at 39 weeks to get on the induction schedule. The doctor I saw (because mine was on vacation) refused to schedule an induction, gave me drastically different numbers regarding my progression, and I have been stuck at home, wasting my fmla leave, completely unpaid, right before Christmas. I feel like I really drew the short straw and this experience has been very stressful, as I have now seen 4 different doctors, scheduled to see a 5th tomorrow, and I was told that there is no telling who will actually be delivering my baby. Next time I will probably try Ruby, a dula, or a birthing center. I expected better.
I am 37 years old and have never been pregnant and I have many questions and am worried about alot. I had my first appointment at 14 weeks and I had seen McCullough and it was horrible. I had many health problems that I know can be affected or worsen with pregnancy. I was told that I need a regular doctor and that everything is normal. I have been to the hospital numerous times for SEVERE migraines since being pregnant along with other health issues and I know it is not normal. Everytime I went through my list of questions she said it is normal and ok and didnt really say too much. I just stopped half way through my list. I was also told I would be seeing a different doctor every visit so on the due date I know the doctor. I definately do not like this. The only time the doctor seemed lively and full of conversation is when I was talking about my drug addiction I had over 10 years ago so that definately could be why she was acting this way and if so it is sad. I am going to stay for my next appointment to see if maybe it was just her and if the second doctor is the same I will be going somewhere else. Other than her everybody was nice the facility was clean and they got me back pretty quick.
I havent even been to my first prenatal appointment and they have moved me back 2 weeks. The first prenatal appointment is the most important. Seems like they dont care if I have a misscarriage or if I was having twins. Cause at this rate I wont have my first ultrasound till Im 11+4. The first time I had to push my appointment back was because the doctor wouldnt be there at that time (ok) moved me to another doctor an hour later (perfect) I call to move my appointment back 2 days due to weather and I have to wait 2 weeks? Yeah.. probably going somewhere else.
Dr. Hamilton delivered both of my children (now 9 and 10 years old) via C-section due to them both being breech. I had a wonderful experience throughout the pregnancies and deliveries/surgeries. I also have to compliment him on how small and even my surgery scar is. I recovered well and quickly. Im happy with my experience. I would go back again if I decided to have another child.Side story: I saw him in Kroger one day years and years ago and told my kids, theres the doctor who delivered you two. My son, probably around 5 at the time looked at me with an odd expression and I asked him, What? He said, I dont know why someone would put babies in mailboxes. He was so taken aback haha That little shocked and deeply concerned face he made. Still one of my favorite moments. I never thought hed think that. I assumed he knew what I meant when I was saying it lol
Mon no longer offers midwife care, which is a very important option for women to be able to access. I loved the birthing center and midwife care that I’ve received throughout four pregnancies and deliveries, but my needs will no longer be met at this facility.
I gave birth to both of my children with the assistance of a fabulous midwife, Gail Rock. She and the nursing staff are stellar! However with MonGen making the decision to discontinue midwife care at their facility, I will be leaving their care to find another provider/s. Greatly disappointed in lack of consideration for the women of Morgantowns needs.
The OB/GYNs and office staff at Mon General Hospital Womens Health have been welcoming and accommodating throughout my pregnancy. If I have a question or a problem, the nurse will ask one of their doctors or Gail Rock, their midwife, and I will have an answer, or an appointment, that day.
My wife followed her pregnancy and delivered here. Our experience was great. Every one we dealt with was very nice and competent. The nursing staff were amazing and her delivery could not be better.
They are plenty of places that will work around brining kids to an appointment! I don’t care about Covid! I was told I could bring one but I couldn’t bring the other! Not everyone has ppl to help and watch kids! They were rude and not helpful! I switched!
Ive been a patient of Gail Rock since 2007. She has delivered both of my girls, adore her and all of the doctors and nurses who work with her.
Horrible experience. No calls about lab work; had to call them 4 times to get results. Repeated screw ups from office. Least competent office I’ve ever experienced.
I would not recommend this doctor at all. My appointment time was over an hour and a half. Never did see the nurse not even the doctor but the nurse before I walked out!! Was not worth my time or aggravation. Very disappointed!!!
No visitors. No support person. 20 week fetal anatomy scan without a support person is ridiculous. Not impressed.
Now that Gail Rock was let go I’m sure you will loose many patients.... how’s that for a budget cut?
Wonderful doctor, love him. Been my gym dr for 20 years.
The staff at this office are all very kind and helpful! Highly recommend!
Very professional and kind staff :)
