Summary: Dr. Check is amazing and Im currently 36 weeks pregnant after being told by another clinic I likely couldnt have my own child!! Deciding to work with him was the best choice ever.--I live in MA and found Dr Check after two failed IVF cycles with Boston IVF, who told me from the get go Id likely need donor eggs. Checks name kept coming up in a fb support group for women with DOR so before potentially going the donor route I scheduled a consult with him. Im so glad I did!Our initial in-person consult lasted 2 hours. He was very personable and compassionate, and took care of some routine exams while I was there since we live out of state. We did timed intercourse and I did all my monitoring up in Boston, but followed the guidance of Dr Check, and am delighted to say that after 3 cycles I got pregnant! Him and the staff did everything possible to make sure this baby stuck, and the pregnancy nurse, Ann, even stayed late one day until I got my results from external monitoring so that she could write me the pregesterone prescription I needed before the weekend.I **highly** recommend Dr Check if you are struggling with infertility. Its such a hard thing to go through but Dr Check provided me with the light at the end of the tunnel and Im overjoyed to be carrying a baby girl and expecting her within the next month.THANK YOU DR CHECK!! I am eternally grateful for the incredible gift you gave me.
After trying to get pregnant for 6 years and failing, we came to Dr Check and got pregnant within less than 6 months. He gave us the most precious baby girl (Autumn Morris) in the world. I owe everything to Dr Check, he gave us the most valuable thing in the world: a healthy baby, and I will forever be grateful. If you are struggling to get pregnant, Dr Check can work miracles. We are living proof of that. Thank you Dr Check, from the bottom of my heart.
Success! After 5 failed years of trying at multiple large clinics, we found success at the Cooper Center. They deliver personalized protocols. And although some methods may be unconventional, they are effective! Words cannot express how grateful we are to Dr Check and all the doctors and staff there.
Dr. Check is a genious! Carrie Wilson in 3rd party is phenomenal! After fails at 3 other clinics, Dr Check got me pregnant with our now beautiful 18 month old our first cycle there. My experience with Cooper far exceeds any other clinic I’ve ever encountered and believe me, I’ve been through MANY clinics. Dr Check is hands down the BEST!Pic of my beautiful baby boy all thanks to Dr Check and his fantastic staff.
I have had 8 miscarriages including an ectopic and chemical pregnancy. I was with Drexel and then they closed, then I went to RMA (they were not good at all unless you are just doing IVF!) I then learned about Dr Check! Total game changer. Most of the negative reviews are because they are doing out of state monitoring. Which is an option but I declined it and happy I did! 1 it’s more money and 2 you have to deal with other outside labs and people who aren’t in the office so obviously there is lag time.I have been a patient since December. We are on my 2nd monitoring of my cycle. With in a short time they found out my thyroid is not where it should! They also confirmed my follicles are not getting to a mature size when they should be. They also found that I am ovulating way later than I should be!!They have me on the right medication and follow up and through! If you can do monitoring in the office I highly suggest you do! Yes I don’t see dr check but all the nurses there talk to him and call back. So fare I have had no issues and feel like this is my time to have a baby!! I fully trust in their process. Also yea medications can be pricey. My insurance won’t cover it, however there are places that donate fertility medication. That’s how I saved $600 to $2100 so fare !!I hope you at least give Dr Check a try! Some people have great experiences and some have bad experiences anywhere you go. But from someone who has struggled and been through hell and back, I highly recommend him.I will follow up once I have my bundle of joy!!
This post is about 16 years overdue. We were unsuccessful trying to conceive a baby for years. We finally made it over the 12 week hump and announced, but miscarried a week later. We went through an IVF cycle or two with South Jersey Fertility. I am in zero way bashing them. We felt my wife was being over medicated and a family member recommended Dr. Check. We went to them, and he recommended a slight change in medication. My wife had low mucus. After finding that out, we did IUI, and she was pregnant! They monitored her closely throughout the pregnancy…and our girl was born. Healthy and beautiful. After that, my wife became pregnant again (naturally). We kept close eye on her mucus and numbers for our second. We were blessed again. Our 3rd was a complete surprise and again we monitored. We are forever grateful to the practice and Dr. Check.
I went to 4 different centers to get pregnant…no success. My son is 20 now and cannot thank Dr. Check, staff and God for this gift!!! The staff is great and accommodating. We looked online and Dr. Check had the most successful pregnancies. We looked at SART(society for assisted reproductive technology)I feel as though we wouldn’t have our son today if it wasn’t for Dr. Check and staff!
UPDATEWe just had our second daughter last week. We really could not be more fortunate than to have met Dr. Check and Dr. Sobel and their amazing team along our long IVF journey. Without them, we wouldn’t have our family. I could not be more grateful of thankful for all their hard work that made our dreams come true.=========Before visiting Dr. Check I did a year of IUIs and one round of IVF at South Jersey Fertility and over 6 rounds of IVF at Shady Grove Fertility with no success. We were about to give up, when a friend suggested Dr. Check. After my first visit I wasnt sold, it was not as fancy as the other fertility places; however, we gave it a chance. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. Im writing this post while feeding my happy, healthy 5 week old baby girl. We fortunately got pregnant during our first round of IVF. Everything here was different, they did a low dose stimulation cycle for retrival where every where else maxed out my doses, I was on adderall the first trimester, and we didnt genetically test embryos before transfer. Not saying Dr. Check will work for everyone, but if youre like me and the generic IVF protocol didnt work for you, Id highly recommend giving Dr. Check a chance. Our life wouldnt be the same without the exceptional staff at this office.
Dr. Check is a great guy, but unfortunately 98% of communication and interaction is through the nurses, and they often either don’t call back for days, have different answers, or have impatient attitudes. Talking to the doctor at all is a fee each time, and can take weeks to book, but he always answers all of your questions. Unfortunately I had several cycles that were throwaways because I didn’t get calls back from nurses in time, or at all. Ultrasound orders weren’t sent, and voicemails and emails went unanswered.I’d miss medications or monitoring because I wouldn’t get a call back with instructions in time. Other times I would be told to do one thing by one nurse, and days later have another tell me that it did not make sense, and I must have misheard. Yet I took notes. This also happened once with billing. They said that they’d charge less for a cycle that was a throwaway because I didn’t hear back, and then said that the conversation never happened. If you have more than a set number of tests, you get charged a “monitor fee” of several hundred dollars. Which isn’t right when they don’t get back to you for days.Communication was a constant battle, and with something this time sensitive, that’s stressful and inefficient. More than one nurse had an attitude, and more than once, I was in tears because I just didn’t hear back in time or had them tell me that they never said something that I know they did. As much as I liked the doc, I can’t recommend this clinic due to the other staff. It feels like they have so many patients that you’re just a faceless number to them. If you don’t call them multiple times, you’ll never hear from them again. They do not check in. I didn’t feel like many of them cared at all about helping me have success.
WARNING! THIS OFFICE GIVES OUT OTHER PEOPLES MEDICATIONS AND CALLS THEM SAMPLES. This is a violation of Federal Law (HHS 290.1 Controlled Substances) and HIPAA as they do not remove the information of the prior patient. Authorities have been notified.
I visited Dr. Check’s office with my daughter Who was looking to do fertility treatments. I was so impressed with what a gracious and intelligence physician he was. He spoke to us like adults who could be equal participants in the discussion. We also met with his Fellow soon to permanently join the practice and we were equally impressed with him. My daughter also had wonderful results as have several other women we know personally. I truly cannot say enough great things about this office. It’s true that there are one or two grumpy people at the front desk but as long as she is getting this level care this is not a big deal.
Do NOT use this practice. Your health, fertility concerns, etc. will be the least of the staff’s concern or worries. Dr. Check himself is friendly and knowledgeable but unfortunately you rarely see or interact with him. They will place holds on your account when your insurance doesn’t pay claims in a timely fashion as if you can control the insurance company. The whole time your supposed to keep your stress level down but they will stress you out throughout every step of your IVF cycle. And quite frankly it seems like patients who are “private pay” are treated differently than the patients using insurance since I overheard nurses speaking about how a patient was paying. I will be reporting this office. Do yourself a favor and don’t go here.
To be in this line of work, one needs to be sympathetic, empathetic, compassionate and caring. The staff were all of the above and more. My consult with Dr. Check was over 3 hours. I did not feel rushed and my questions were answered. I don’t think I spent more than 10 minutes with my last reproductive endocrinologist at my last practice. The young blonde at the front desk was super rude to me a few times but she is my only negative encounter and it while be unfair for me to give them a bad review because of one miserable employee. Everyone else from the nurses, providers, anesthesiologist, phlebotomists and ultrasound techs are phenomenal. There’s also a Facebook support group that is super helpful and helped ease my anxiety when I was freaking out. The staff also engages in the Facebook group and will even answer questions WAY after business hours.I would say though, this practice will NOT hold your hands and walk you through everything. You need to take initiative and keep your own records together. You need to email them a lot and have to be patient. They see people all over the country and not the best at record keeping so things can get hectic. HOWEVER, they will get you pregnant and I’ll honestly put up with anything if I can reach my goal.Seriously, can that blonde girl be fired already? Many people don’t like her and her attitude. The redhead older receptionist is amazing!
This review is LONG overdue! I just happened to be talking with a woman about infertility and it made me think of Dr. Check. My daughter is 29.I saw Dr. Check after seeing other docs. and after 3 miscarriages. Within a short amount of time, I had a successful pregnancy and delivery.Dr. Check was wayyyy ahead of other docs. inhis care. I was taking progesterone shots every other day to maintain the pregnancy,,, was taking baby aspirins, etc. His staff and NURSES were amazing ( trying to make this a short story).I remember sitting in the waiting room ( 1st visit) and a pizza delivery person came in the front door with about 5 pies. I turned to my husband and said, “ that smells so good “!The pizza was for all the patients waiting in the waiting room ( a lot). This was a common practice! I soon discovered that sometimes you waited over 3 hours past your appointment time..BUT NO ONE minded! We all knew it was because he was the doc to see and in high demand!! I can remember calling his office one time and asking to speak with him. They assured me that he would call me back. After midnight I received a call back from him ( still in his office). Who does that??? Office hours were done. ..... a dedicated doctor does that.. 😊 Patricia Chiodi
Went here after not having good experiences at 2 other clinics in Florida. I have DOR/low amh and I wanted to go to a doctor that specializes in it. Dr. Check was the first doctor that didn’t make me feel like a number. He truly gave me a chance and believed in me. Even when I felt defeated. He is an out of the box thinker but so very good at what he does. I’m so glad I took the chance to go out of state for care. I did a natural cycle with him and got pregnant my first month (after 2 years of trying IVF and IUI at other clinics). I’m halfway through my pregnancy and I know I have Dr check to thank for my miracle.
I decided to try this place out because of their pricing and also the amazing reviews I’ve heard about Dr. Check. He wasn’t the problem however, my issue is the office staff/billing department.Firstly, it took them 6 weeks to email me my new patient paperwork. I had to keep calling them and telling them I haven’t received it in my email. I would get the “Ok, we’ll send it over!” And then I’d still wait. I finally called them 2 days before my appointment and said I’m not hanging up until you send it. Once my appointment came, I noticed that my last name was spelled completely incorrect. (Another red flag!). We consulted with Dr. Check and we decided on IVF because of my age (39) and 3 failed IUIs it was our best option. I knew I had low egg reserve but I was hopeful in our success.Second, if you go in just for blood work bring your own pen to sign in your name!! I asked for a pen from the front desk (if you’re lucky enough to see anyone sitting up front) and you would’ve thought I asked her for her left arm. The phlebotomist is also extremely rude and tapes a bandaid on your arm like she’s taping up a Christmas tree in a box.Third, I was never told that I would have to pick up my medication in Willow Grove PA. I had to leave work and drive up an hour and 15 minutes away for $2000 worth of medication. Make sure you ask that question if you go. Once I started my injections they called me to give me instructions. Emailing would’ve been easier so I didn’t have to jot everything down. You can barely understand what they’re saying and they act annoyed that they have to do their job of helping you.Forth, my egg retrieval day. Everything went well here and the IVF nurses were very nice and helpful. We paid ahead of time for egg freezing and the entire IVF procedure. I found out a few days later that they only retrieved 1 egg. We were hopeful but the. Unfortunately 2 hours before my transfer they told us our embryo stopped growing and the transfer was then canceled. We were then told we would be getting our money back that we paid for egg freezing and also our transfer that never occurred because there was nothing to freeze and/or transfer. On January 4th we had a consultation with Dr. Check, we spoke to him regarding our procedure and what went wrong. He then stated that we would be getting partially refunded for the procedure that wasn’t done so we went on our way. Here we are 6 weeks and multiple ignored phone calls later with absolutely nothing. My husband and I have both called, left messages and they refuse to return our calls. It’s the most incompetent office staff I’ve ever dealt with and I can’t wait to get my money and my medical records then never deal with these people again. So please, do your research. There are plenty of complains regarding their office staff. Like I said Dr. Check was good but the office staff just sets the tone for this whole experience.
Today was my first appointment with Dr. Check. My husband and I were very pleased with our experience. The staff was polite and Dr. Check was very thorough and conducted all the blood work ups and testing for both of us. I was impressed with his passion and am very excited to be moving forward with the process.
Dr. Check, and everyone at the PA and NJ office.I just wanted to say how much I appreciate everyones passion and compassion. Everyone is very professional yet personal. Its very hard to find. Everyone there gives people like me hope regardless of the final outcome. Hope is all we truly ask for. Its almost like playing the lottery for years. You continue to play the lottery knowing you might not win. Its the hope that gives people the strength, not necessarily the outcome of treatment. Dr. Check and Dr. Scovol (so sorry for misspelling his name), have spent years and years doing research and treating fertility problems. Thats what sets them apart from bigger companies. Plus theyre so down to Earth and so compassionate. I hear on the radio Shady Grove and that other company..RMA (I think). Im like...people need to know about Cooper!!! I would love to hear a commerical about you guys! All of you deserve so much more. Sodidnt make it too mushy. I look forward to continuing my treatments with you guys.
I have been working with Dr. Check and both of his offices for over a year and I can honestly say that he is amazing! He takes his time with each patient. The nurses have been so extremely sweet, and I can always feel their empathy when talking to them. It’s SO important that staff are empathetic when going through pregnancy and options, and that they understand it is stressful for the patient. There has only been one individual since I started going there that has been rude, apathetic, and lacking any empathy for another human being. I wouldn’t let her internal issues make me change my review of the overall atmosphere in both offices. The billing Department works hard to make sure you understand what is going on and what you are responsible for. If you are looking for a Dr. with an amazing track record, and a staff that know what they are doing, this is the place for you.
I can not tell you enough how much I love the staff!! The lady at the front desk is amazing. My fiancé and I were seeing Dr Check for a 3rd opinion even though I was starting with another facility that day. My fiancé was blown away by how nice the front desk was. He was impressed with Dr Check, his knowledge and his approach. The doctor we are currently seeing is not at all optimistic and said I may not get eggs. Dr Check said they will force me with lots of drugs and probably cancel the cycle. Well it’s day 11 and I only have one egg. Dr Check was right. Though I refused to give up on my one egg, as soon as I can try again for another cycle I will be going to Dr Check. Even yesterday Dr Check and his staff were so nice to me and trying to make me feel better and I’m not even their patient yet. He is very helpful and optimistic he can help me based on my age, limited follicles and blood levels. I have hope for a baby with Dr Checks help. I’ll be back in 10 months with my success story.
I am forever grateful to Dr. Check, Dr. Cohen and the staff at both the NJ and PA offices. Thanks to them I am now holding my beautiful, healthy 4m old baby boy. It wasn’t until I came here that I truly experienced a patient centered approach. Dr. Check and Dr. Cohen take their time with each patient and really use a “less is more” approach. They make sure not to use high amounts of medication unnecessarily and your treatment plan isn’t solely dependent on whether or not you have insurance coverage. The staff consists of mostly former patients and I think that speaks for itself with how much they believe in their practice. Whenever I was down and feeling discouraged, someone on staff always had kind words or a hug and helped me keep going. I could go on and on but my personal data will speak for itself: previous practice- pregnant 0/6 cycles and about 30k in debt. Cooper- pregnant 3/7 cycles and maybe 2k in debt. Pregnancy #3 is my 4m/o baby boy.
Totally shocked that there are such low reviews because of staff attitude. These people are experts, so I am happy to sacrifice a little bedside manner to end up at my ultimate goal. Dr. Check himself is great and everyone there, though not extremely warm, was never blatantly nasty. People are people and some people are more challenging than others. So, I have a two year old son and several other Dr. Check babies in my extended network-all who have parents who completely struck out elsewhere before coming to Dr. Checks office. 5 Stars.
I cant get over how rude the staff is here. Ive called numerous times for different reasons and each time get the rudest service. The doctor seemed nice however the staff is so rude I will not be continuing my infertility journey here. At this point I would rather pay more by the way out of pocket than put up with the rudest staff I have ever dealt with. My friend also called for ivf details and was met with the same rude tone. They also cant get their stories right and I get different answers everytime I call. They treat me like I am a drug addict everytime I need my prescription refilled. My pharmacist had to get involved cause they refused to refill my prescription even though the dr suggested I be on this med for a certain period of time before I start my IVF treatments. I Sincerely Hope that my review will help others not have to deal with the stress and anxiety this staff will bring upon you if you decide to do IVF here.
Dr Check and his staff were so amazing. I can’t thank them enough. He is the best! He really takes time out with his patients and tests for things other clinics do not. I read all his studies on the plane to go see him. I delivered a healthy baby boy!
Dr Check is a miracle worker and I can’t thank him enough. I got my beautiful baby girl after 4 monitored cycles with him. I went to 2 other RE’s before him and they both didn’t give me much chances. After failed IVF and 4 miscarriages my friend told me about dr. Check - during my consultation he told me that he is going to help me get pregnant! He was so right :) Thank You dr. Check!
This ivf center is the best in the United States. Thats where i got my miracle baby after been childless for more than 7years in marriage. But this place was my final bus stop. All the stuffs they are just so great. Thank you Dr Jerome Check and Dr Chuck. Dr Chuck you are so amazing.
I got pregnant on my first egg retrieval and first transfer. Very thankful for the doctors and staff. I’m now 27 weeks pregnant with my miracle baby.
My family is very grateful to Dr. Check. With his help, we have a beautiful daughter now. We went to many IVF doctors and we were unsuccessful.. He and his team made our dream true. God bless him
While Dr Check has been and continues to be wonderful - today was about the fifth time Ive been infuriated while dealing with thier office. When I started off my journey there, I was talked to as if Im an idiot by almost all the staff except the doctor. Dr Check did a long meeting with me and narrated a letter in which he told me I wouldnt be charged for ultrasounds-but magically when I started in my cycles, no one could find that part of the doctors recording that was transcribed... It was a fight to have them stick to that promise that he made.In the financial office, I had a ton of abbreviations thrown at me when we asked about pricing (none of which were explained) - and she said things like if you need icksi and depending on if youre doing pgd or pgs and yet when I asked about them, I was treated rather rudely.... I was asked questions left and right, but when I tried to understand what the plan was, I was told that Every protocol is different, every person is different... thats all well and good, but I cant get into this without having ANY clue what costs Im looking at.... And, yes, we are all different, but that still doesnt change the general way in which things work...in the end I was told I had been given the COMPLETELY WRONG pricing sheet, because I need embryo testing (and even then - not everything was made clear by thier pricing information)When they called for the first time with my bloodwork, they rattled off levels and gave no explanation what they were, why I needed to know them, or why they were telling me this info - and when I asked what these things are, her response was your levels. That was all the information Ive ever been given- during2 monitored cycles,1 iui, and 1 IVF retrieval. My medications were prescribed, but there was no information from the office except how much to take & when - I had to figure out subq and intramuscular injections by reading info online. I also almost missed my retrieval because noone told me that you mix the entire trigger shot with just 1/5th of the liquid youre given- and it was midnight on a Sunday, so thank God for support groups online for helping us!After a retrieval turned up no healthy male embryos, we were told we could start again right away... But when I got there on day two, I was told that we actually have to wait a cycle in between every time. I thought we would go right back into medications, but no one told me that a baseline cycle has to happen before every retrieval cycle... So, newsflash - you can only do a retrieval every OTHER cycle. (again; noone explained this).Today, I asked right when I I arrived if I needed just blood or both blood and ultrasound- because I didnt feel well, and I wanted to get out of there and back home to rest. After a bunch of back and forth, rather than getting an answer... The woman from the financial office comes out to ask when they are getting paid - Instead Id actually finding out if I needed the ultrasound or not, so I could get out of there, thier only concern was payment! They were ONLY concerned about thier money and when they were getting it- Its extremely frustrating to be constantly disregarded as a person, and only viewed as a source of income.I have HUGE doubts that many of the people who work in this office have ANY compassion whatsoever for what women are going through to be in thier office in the first place - I need to start collecting names of the people Ive felt with people who continue to have a horrible attitude when dealing with the public, because they are doing Dr Check a HUGE DISSERVICE and driving people away from his office.
Dr. Check is a amazing doctor, his approach to treating my condition was totally beyond what I could imagine. He was only a phone call away. I never left dissatisfied. The staff in the Jersey office are incredible! Great customer service, caring, and was willing to go that extra mile.
Very disappointed with this practice. The staff that I dealt with were very uneducated. Joanne was great, very sweet and helpful. Dr. Check was an absolute joke. He does not care about your symptoms. He simply perscribes all of his patients Adderal and sends them on their way. If it wasnt for me doing my own research, I would be taking Adderal for my symptoms and not really treating them! He was very rude the second time I came back for follow up. He did absolutely nothing for me. In fact, my PCP just figured out my thyroid is very high, and wants me to see an endocrinologist. I told her i HAVE been seeing one, but Im definitely switching! I will never go back to him, nor will I recommend him to anyone. Ladies, do your research! My health would have deteriorated immensely if I trusted this doctor.
Amazing, doctor, amazing staff! I dont understand how they got such bad reviews. I just left my first appointment and I have zero complaints. Dr. Check is so knowledgeable and personable. He truely cares about helping the patient. The staff was funny, energetic and extremely helpful. 5 stars, no doubt! ❤ K Foti
I just got off the phone making an appointment. The front desk lady is extremely rude and aggressive. She yelled at me 5 times during 5 minites talk. This is unacceptable. You are dealing with people who are already going through lots of stress and must have professional demenour. To be honest, i am scared to go for a treatment over there as the face of the clinic speaks for itself.. i hope the doctor Check is worth of this stress and humiliation..
Doc is GREAT! The staff is TERRIBLE. They run the clinic like cattle call. You are not a person, just a number, or thats how youre made to feel. They lost paparr work, billed me the wrong amounts, i showed for appts they set for me and noone actually put it on the schedule. The one Ultra sound tech (Russian accented) literally made me cry during and ultra sound. I told her 2ce I was VERY sore and she seemed not completely disregard what I said and proceeded to jab me HARD. (I had 37 follicles so YEA I was tender)Again doc is great, services are fairly reasonable other then that nothing but a head ache.
I can’t recommend dr Check and his team enough. By far the best in his area.
Cannot believe the rude & unprofessional way I was treated by staff members. Others are wonderful like Dawn & Tabitha but boy do they have some nasty women working there. Completely ruined the experience for me. I needed to change doctors in mid cycle. SO SO Very upsetting!
Extremely happy with the care, follow up phone calls and tremendous effort that Dr.Check, Dr. Cohen and their staff are putting forth toward my treatment.
Because of Dr. Check I am a mother and a grandmother. I received excellent care and treatment and will be forever grateful.
Because of this practice, I became a Mother. Thankful for Dr.Check and his team.
Terrible experience with this practice. Previously submitted a review that has somehow disappeared. Didn’t use this practice
Jackie is the best, so are the ladies in the front desk.
Absolutely amazing Dr and staff!
The receptionist is so rude and unprofessional!
Friendly nurses and great doctors
Hes amazing.
