Love this shop, pretty good selection of gently used clothing, furniture, knick knacks, art etc. The staff is always very nice! They over free HIV testing in their clinic, which is very unique and honestly amazing! 4/5 stars because some of the pricing is a bit higher than expected. But then again its a thrift store on magazine street, they have to pay that high rent somehow!

Young African American guy at the front (sorry didn’t get his name, wearing lots of Jewelery and saints shirt) was super super kind and helpful. Hope he gets taken care of real well. What a great guy and great store. Everything was a 10/10 will be back

I wanted to love this place so bad! They have great support for the Queer community! And knowing how fashionable they are I expected to see all the great clothes to choose from. But their selection was bare minimum. And wasn’t really fashionable at all. Hopefully they get a new donation in with better options.

Enjoyed shopping on a Tuesday afternoon. The staff is polite and respectful. There is a good selection of name brands and off brand clothing items. I appreciate the access to a small changing station to try on clothes. Surprised by the number of NOLA t-shirts you can find on the racks.

My teen and I had a few bags of clothes to donate, and being familiar with this stores Oakland, CA location, I told my kiddo about their community mission, and she loved it. She said this is where she wanted to drop off our donations and to also maybe buy some thrifted items for herself.Upon entering this location, we were met with great music (Teena Maries Square Biz came in soon as we entered, which is a good sign to me since shes my favorite female singer), smiling faces and a whole welcoming vibe. The staff immediately took out donated goods, and myself and my kiddo and I started looking through the racks to find her some pants. After doing some looking, some chatting with other customers, etc., we were ready to go. A nice young staff member rang us up, and we were on our way. I dont know his name, but he had an Anaheim Angels lanyard on.My kiddo is very happy with her finds and cant wait to go back. Im so glad this store has a location here in New Orleans, and well definitely be back.

Fantastic store with a great cause. I found a pair of leather boots in great condition for $8. Really refreshing in a world were thift stores are starting to charge full retail price for things they should have never accepted in the condition theyre in. Lots and lots of t shirts which is good if youre into t shirts.

Im in the process of moving and was googling places that take donations and came across this thrift store and was amazed of the whole concept and the different things they offer so I called to find out if they pick up. The phone rings and its complete silence the sales person was extremely rude and unprofessional and went on to say they dont accept anything and I quickly let him or her know I wouldnt donate anything the items were name brand and he immediately let me know Ididnt have to tell him that and I let him know I felt the same about his comment. So Ill donate my clothes, shoes, jackets and bags to the homeless.I only gave one ⭐ cause I couldnt give a 0000000

They offer free STD testing upstairs. This is a vital resource for the community! The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Getting tested is never a fun experience, but I felt very safe and comfortable here. Thank you!

The prices? Amazing. The vibes? Immaculate.I got a dish rack for $1 and the shirt and romper I got were $8 each. The vibe in there was great. As a queer person I’ve had a hard time feeling safe since moving to Louisiana (Houma) but this place felt so safe and welcoming. The employees were so nice even in just our brief interactions. I can’t wait to come back and see what they have.

I was so excited to see Out of the Closet! I saw the adds, looked up the place and headed on down. Just by looking at the place from the outside it was clean and inviting. Once you entered into the establishment the music was playing and it was a vibe. Yet, to my dismay that’s where my interest stopped. The clothes were low quality, and not much choose from. The place was dimly lit, but was quite clean. I truly wanted to love this place, but what I came for which was to find quality second hand items was not met.

Great prices! Barely saw anything more than $10. However, since they just opened the selection is a little scarce. Can still find a couple of gems if you look thoroughly!
