My first experience w this facility was not so great and made me extremely discouraged and ready to give up. After finally speaking with the manager and getting to know the girls I can not be happier w my decision to continue this journey. This is a small facility so you know everyone’s face but not everyone name. The morning crew is beyond amazing front staff gets to you know and the techs are beyond sweet. The technicians will let you know what you’re looking at which is really nice because they take the time to explain everything step by step. Dr Harris is my saving grace he really does have a great passion for his work and makes sure to get to know you and follow up even if it means calling on football Sunday ;) (You’re not just another number which is great!) thought my frustration and tears first couple HORRIBLE experiences he was beyond understanding. We all know this journey is far from easy but with this team I can now say I don’t dread appointments as much and I look forward to being involved in tracking what they are looking for. Thank you for the amazing turn around and comforting feel at every visit it really does make a difference. If you’re looking for friendly faces and a journey that can and will be explained this is your facility for sure. I hope my experience doesn’t come from speaking up but def a turn around for the better
All of the people that work here are AMAZING!!! Shannon made me feel very comfortable as I was very nervous!!!! Patty and Margo were also awesome!!! The whole experience with SGF has been amazing! And all the ladies downstairs are so friendly! Nurse Becky is the BEST! This experience has been so stressful but all of the staff do everything they can to make it worth it!
Everyone at SGF is super nice and caring! Doctor Banks is very quick with responding to my needs and getting things done rapidly. I love how fast I am seeing results! Even the front desk staff: Deniqua, Jordan, Erica and Amber are such nice and beautiful young ladies, they are respectful and always joyful. If I had to again, I would definitely come back!
Review for Dr. Erica Johnston at Shady Grove Fertility:My husband and I recently had our patient intake appointment with Dr. Erica Johnston, and we couldnt be more pleased with our experience. Despite it being a virtual appointment, Dr. Johnstons thoroughness and attention to detail were immediately evident. It was clear that she had taken the time to carefully review all of our paperwork beforehand, which made us feel valued and understood from the start.Throughout the appointment, Dr. Johnston asked us numerous questions, demonstrating her dedication to understanding our unique situation and concerns. Her willingness to listen and address each of our queries left us feeling reassured and confident in her expertise. Additionally, we greatly appreciated the convenience of completing all the patient intake forms digitally prior to the appointment, streamlining the process and allowing us to focus on our discussion with Dr. Johnston. As we embark on this journey to grow our family with Shady Grove Fertility, we feel fortunate to have Dr. Johnston guiding us along the way. Her professionalism, compassion, and commitment to personalized care have already made a positive impression on us, and we look forward to continuing our treatment under her guidance. We wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Erica Johnston to anyone seeking fertility care.
A good place to go to for fertility testing that my OB couldn’t do in her office. Had a few HSG’s done and the woman who did my previous one was great and went very slow, didn’t rush it at all. The guy who did the recent one was patient. Even after having to repeat the test 3 times. Only gave 3 stars because the last visit whoever did my intake height and weight HAD to point out that I gained weight since my last visit. As if I didn’t already know that. Not exactly something I want to be told with two other strangers in the room. Maybe just keep the comments to herself next time. Coming here is already sensitive enough. Mentioning my weight gain in front of strangers in the room doing height and weight too was just unnecessary and rude.
Feel good vibes from the time I crossed the threshold!I went to SGF seeking information for fertility services. I find it soothing to speak to people in person for this subject manner. Equipped with all of my health information and future availability, I left there feeling confident, hopeful and informed along with an appointment scheduled in the coming weeks! There was a team of 4 staff members in the receiving area- Amber, Erica, Deniqua and Jordan. They were notably professional- yet warm and down to earth. Well poised in conversation and manner, the plethora of knowledge that they were able to impart on me was reassurance that I was going to embark on my baby journey with SGF.I’ve inquired at a couple other fertility facilities in Hampton Roads. This one has emerged as my pick because I feel like an individual person already, like they care, instead of a just variable on a profits spreadsheet. Also, they are open 7 days a week! I have yet to find comparable availability at other fertility facilities.I’m truly looking forward to this process unfolding.
My entire process was made better by Natalie in the monitoring team. The monitoring team is who you spend the most time with and wow, it wouldn’t have been the same without her. She was always able to understand where I was emotionally and mentally in the process and fully honored that. She took extra time to answer questions and make me feel super comfortable at every visit. I also had a wonderful patient care team. Lindsay, Brittany, and Ashlynn went above and beyond with making sure my scheduling was taken care of and that we were on the same page.
I absolutely love my team at shady grove they know exactly who you are when you walk through the door, they make me and my wife feel like family I truly thank god for them and all their hard work S/O to my Norfolk teamJordanDeniquaEricaAmberTiffanyContinue being great and helping create life!
Everyone was so amazing! I can’t thank this team enough. This process can be scary and cause anxiety however, this team is so supportive, encouraging and, helpful. They helped me relax and keep my mind on the end goal.Thank you all so much for all that you do!(Margo A. , Patti A, Ashley P, Shannon M, Brittany R, Kathryn B, & Dr.Banks & Dr.Johnston) & Also the front desk staff.-Zenola Smith
Cannot recommend SGF enough! Everyone was so kind and helpful throughout this process! Everyone at the front desk, every nurse, lab tech, phlebotomist, and embryologist was cheering us with each step. Special thanks to Dr. Banks, Dr. Arielle, Caitlyn W, and nurses Lindsey and Jeni who really left a special mark in our heart during this journey! The first phone call is the hardest step, but you wont regret choosing SGF.
I had a wonderful experience working with Kelsey as my Patient Care Coordinator! She kept me on track and made sure every step of the process was seamless so I only had to worry about showing up to the appointments. Thanks for all the support!
If you have any sort of existing medical condition, stay far away. It will be a huge waste of your time and money. I was with Shady Grove for almost a year and was about to start IVF when they dropped me as a patient. I have a lung condition that is well controlled and I have never had any complications with anesthesia, but they refused to put me under anesthesia. Mind you, they made me jump through all sorts of hoops before telling me they werent willing to put me under anesthesia. I even got a clearance letter from my pulmonologist, who specializes in lungs, saying that hes not concerned about me undergoing anesthesia, and they still refused. I also had to request the surgery notes from a previous surgery, which proved that I didnt have any complications during surgery, but that also made no difference. I was even told by my doctor that theres a 95% chance that IVF will work for me. So they didnt drop me because they didnt think IVF would work for me, which is one of the most frustrating things of all. Also, I just received a bill from Shady Grove for $900 for an appointment that was over a year ago. This is the first time I have ever been sent this bill. Yet, the bill says, We can no longer keep this account active given your account is severely overdue and has reached collection status. Its funny that theyre blaming me for the overdue bill that they never sent me. What a way to add insult to injury after dropping me as a patient and I have zero to show for all the time and money spent at SGF.Also, Ive contacted the patient advocate in the past because I was wrongfully sent a different bill and she never contacted me back. It did finally get resolved, but no thanks to her.Other than the financial department, the staff is very friendly, overall. If you have health concerns though, Id steer clear of Shady Grove.
Every member of the staff at the Norfolk office is fabulous!!!! The front desk staff (Jordan, Deniqua and Amber), every nurse I have encountered and Joellen are true rockstars!!! They make a not so fun process enjoyable. Couldn’t recommend this practice enough.
The front desk ladies, Jordan Amber Erica Deniqua are so kind sweet and welcoming! Theyre very helpful. Lita is amazing at drawling blood. Shes so patient and kind. I enjoy seeing all the beautiful faces while going through this process!
Becoming a fertility patient is very emotionally overwhelming by itself. On top of it, my reproductive health journey has been a very long hard road. I’ve been in and out of hospitals, gone to the ER 20 times, have seen around 15 doctors, have travelled to multiple states, have had 7 surgeries- 5 procedures etc. all concerning reproductive diseases and issues. To say the least I’ve encountered numerous people in the health field and at times have not felt heard or validated. When this happens a person feels even more distraught in addition to what they are going through. It’s the times when people in the health field show care, concern, a friendly nature, a listening ear and support, that for that brief moment means the world. I’ve noticed that Shady Grove either only hires sincere gracious people or they truly train their staff to be compassionate and gracias. I have shed tears at times after more than one phone call to my Norfolk office just because of how kind they are in answering my questions and validating me.To the front desk staff- Jordan, Deniqua and Erica- thank you for being so kind. To Kim- thank you for being so compassionate and helpful. To Dr. Harris- thank you for being such a kind, informative, patient, compassionate doctor. To everyone there- thank you.
Jordan, Deniqua, Erica and Amber at the front desk truly made my day and shared in a win with me and it was truly heartwarming and made the experience that much better! Thank you all 💕 Dr Banks, Casey, all my nurses. Everyone has been amazing
Since we have started going to SGF it has been nothing short of amazing. Today in particular stood out to me because of how great they were. I had to do my HSG testing and I was a ball of nerves. Arielle, Joellen, another NP, and the x-ray tech were so very kind and thorough through this testing. They all made sure I was very comfortable and knew exactly what would happen as the test went on. If you are looking for compassionate, professional, and overall kind human beings to help you through your fertility journey, this is the place to go. Thank you all so much.
The staff here is wonderful! The nurses Margo and Patti definitely makes the before and after process a breeze. A big thank you to the whole Dr Banks/Dr Yeshua team.
We had a wonderful experience with Shady Grove fertility!!!!! Dr. Benjamin Harris was our provider. He was very thorough with his explanations of the process and the nurses were helpful as well. After our second IVF cycle we conceived our miracle baby. We could not have done it without the help and support of the SGF team 😁
Every time I have an appointment I am welcomed and provided for with the upmost care. Today I had the pleasure of being with Natalie, Joellen, and Casey! They were great and went over the whole process and each step. So thankful to have them on this journey
SGF is a ray of hope! Best OR staff and ultrasound techs are my favorite people on earth. They truly care for you. Cant imagine my fertility journey without these folks! A big big thanks to everyone!!!!
I would recommend sgf to anyone I KNOW trying to concive from the Front desk jordan,Erica, Tiffany and Denia who welcomeS you with a smile ... to the nurses, NP AND doctors . Natalie is the best ,very professional and compassionate. ShoUT to DR HARRIS AND DR THAI ( I MAY HAVE MISSPELLED HIS NAME SORRY) .FOR MAKING MY WIFE AND I DREAMS COME TRUE.YOU GUYS ARE TRULY THE BEST!
The overall care team at Shady Grove is fantastic! The ladies who go above and beyond to ensure I stay positive during this challenging journey are Lindsey, Ashlyn, Jordan, Denique, and Erica. Thank you so much for keeping my spirit lifted! Lastly, my amazing Doctor.. Dr.Banks!Sarah Simons
My experience with SGF honestly, was great!!. The ladies at the front desk, Jordan, Deniqua and Erica were awesome and extremely helpful. They also made me laugh which helped me not be as nervous. The doctors, PAs, and assistants were super patient and made me feel comfortable. Thank you guys so very much.
My experience here so far has been great! Ive been going here over a year now. The front desk women jordan, deniqua, and erica are always a joy to see when i walk in. No matter who help me check in they are always very helpful and nice. My doctor is excellent and communicates any good or bad important news with the empathy i couldnt do without. 👍
After 2 failed IUIs, 2 failed IVFs, and overall hellish experience at another clinic, I finally decided to give Shady Grove a try. I was scared to make the switch figuring all clinics were terrible and it would just put me further behind, but wow did they prove me wrong! The last clinic told me I needed donor eggs and this was my original plan. After having an open and honest conversation with Dr. Harris we decided it was worth trying one more time with my own eggs and now I can excitedly say Im am actually pregnant! The care I received was exceptional. I was so calm and relaxed the whole time because I knew I was in better hands. I think this ultimately led to my success. They call after every apt to go over results and give me a chance to ask questions, they answer portal questions almost immediately, the financial dept handled all of my insurance authorizations in a very timely manner, and even the after hours line responds promptly. I was kept updated on everything and they always had a plan A,B, and C when things didnt go as planned. Everyone is always very kind and encouraging. I felt like a celebrity on transfer day with everyone wishing me well on the way out. I highly recommend Shady Grove to anyone who will listen.
The kindest and most compassionate staff! Infertility is such a rollercoaster of emotions, having genuine supportive nurses and doctors is such a blessing. They truly extend hope!
BrianaHopeDr.combsHeliaDeniseDr.banksAre all amazingMay 31 is our transfer day for becoming parents my team is wonderful through the whole process 🙌 we are so excited.
Love all the providers and staff. Dr Edelstein is the best. The ladies at the front desk (Jordan, Deniqua, & Erica) are always friendly and greet you with a smile. :)
I want to say how incredibly thankful I am for this staff. If you are looking for a place that truly cares for you, no matter what your situation is, this is the place for you, take this as a sign! Dr. Harris was truly amazing and I am so grateful he listened and cared for just about anything I had to say. I believe I became pregnant so fast on my first round of IUI because of Dr. Harris’ great attention to detail and he gave my body everything it needed to prepare for the IUI. The ultrasound techs are so so sweet and the front desk staff is great as well! Such a great team here. Thank you so much for helping us build our family, will recommend you guys to anyone and everyone!
This place is the most timely, respectful and lovely group of providers Ive had the pleasure of seeing. Jordan, Deniqua, Erica, Amber, Dr Banks, Np, Nurses, all fantastic!
This whole place is one big scam. The doctor my wife was seeing stated upfront that they would not need to get her weight because she struggled with an eating disorder and then after we paid for treatment they refused her service for not wanting to be weighed.
Jordan, Deniqua, and Erica are at the front desk and are always kind and approachable when I come in for my appointments! Their awesome and I look forward to seeing their smiles again
From the first moment we were attended as if we were at home. Dr.has been right with the treatment and in the first IUI I got pregnant. the communication through the platform that the center has and via telephone has been incredible. Thank you for your support.I recommend them 💯%Many thanks for everything ♥️
Great bedside etiquette! All the staff were patient, kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Banks is super kind and Dr. Morris who preformed my HSG did a great job making mr feel comfortable and talked through the process so I knew whay was happening.
Staff is amazing, professional, kind, and very punctual with appointment times. They called me within the same day with blood test results, which I was super appreciative of.
Briona was so sweet and so knowledgeable! She made the experience enjoyable and I hope to see her when I come back again!
I am forever grateful that I switched to Shady Grove after trying another fertility clinic in the area. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that Shady Grove is as wonderful as it is! The entire staff is compassionate and very good at what they do. I was a little worried at first because the doctors in Norfolk were not taking new patients, but they were able to schedule me with a wonderful doctor in Richmond who oversaw the entire process (Dr. Tidey). I went to Norfolk for all the bloodwork and procedures and would communicate with Dr. Tidey by phone. I never actually had to go to Richmond. The whole process went smoothly and I was actually glad to have several doctors looking out for me. Dr. Pakrashi in Norfolk is a very special, wonderful person. As another reviewer said, she made me feel cherished, and she also made me laugh and actually have a positive, happy experience during my embryo transfer! My first round of IVF was successful and my husband and I are so looking forward to welcoming our little one this February! I truly wish Shady Grove had an OB clinic so I could just continue to go there now that I am pregnant! I highly recommend Shady Grove (both Norfolk and Richmond locations) for anyone in this delicate situation. They will take great care of you.
Worse place ever. Where should I start. We went through IVF. First off nothing was organized from beginning to end. Nothing was ever relayed to us about any information. We constantly always had to call about everything. We had only one embryo for transfer and it didn’t succeed. We understand that is a possibly but to make things worse and having emotional distress is they kept charging us for embryo storage. We obviously don’t have any to store and we kept asking them about the charges for a whole month. They kept saying we will look into it. No communication on their end and this company doesn’t care about their patients at all. They will stress you out throughout this process. That is the worst thing they can do to you going through this tough time in our lives. Spending thousands and thousands of dollars for you to do all the work with no help from them. We wanted to say all of this because we don’t want to see anybody else go through the same thing regardless if it succeeds or not.
Subject: Unsatisfactory Experience and Miscommunication IssueI wanted to bring to your attention a situation that occurred during my recent appointment at ShadyGrove. I had some concerns regarding the service received and the communication with the nursing staff.I experienced some challenges with Nurse Brittany and Hope. It appears that there was a lack of follow-through and communication, which led to confusion and inconvenience on my part. I understand that the Doctor is not directly responsible for the actions of the nursing staff, but I thought it important to bring this matter to your attention.Additionally, I found the patient portal to be impersonal in addressing my healthcare needs. It would be beneficial to explore ways to enhance its effectiveness and improve the overall patient experience.Furthermore, when directed to the Labco by Nurse Brittany, I encountered further complications. Upon arriving, I was informed that my lab order was not in the system, resulting in wasted time and unnecessary leave taken from work.I kindly request that appropriate measures are taken to prevent such instances from occurring in the future. I believe that fostering a reliable and effective healthcare environment is essential for the satisfaction and well-being of all patients.I would appreciate an opportunity to discuss this matter further if needed.
SGF Norfolk was absolutely amazing! The Nurses and staff really takes care and interest in every single case! Dr. Harris was amazing and a pleasure to work with! My husband and I wouldn’t be having the family we are expecting now without Dr. Harris and SGF Norfolk Staff!
Shady Grove was a great experience for us. Everyone was very kind and attentive, quick to respond to messages or phone calls and schedule appts. I loved the nurses I saw and the doctors were wonderful. Definitely recommend for helping you grow your family.
We were extremely excited to start our journey with fertility, and we started at the Jones Institute. After the first visit, they never contacted us again. We never got any of the blood tests they did or anything. A year later, we got the letter from Shady Grove saying they were taking over the Jones Institute. We immediately called and got an appointment and were promised that they were going to “change” this perspective of the location. We did have 3 appointments, and then they stopped responding. We did have a wonderful experience with New Hope. Everyone in New Hope’s office was wonderful and responsive. They care and THEY RESPOND.
Jordan, Deniqua and Erica are wonderful front desk workers! They are always super helpful when I come in for appointments ! Thank you!
We chose Shady Grove after 2 failed IVF attempts at Procreate. It was night and day difference in the care Shady Grove offered. We felt cared for, and they worked with our insurance. We got pregnent on our first attempt on IVF here and we couldnt be happier. If your on the fence about the only two options for IVF please, do not go anywhere else other than Shady Grove!
I cant speak bout the care of this facility yet but I did want to write a review about one of the ladies Ive been in contact with when it comes to an appt Ive been trying to schedule since April. Yolanda has done an outstanding job of making sure that all of my questions have been answered to the best of her ability and went above and beyond to make sure that someone got in contact with me regarding any question or concern she was not able to answer herself. She has also made sure that my time felt valued. If any of the other office staff or doctors are like Yolanda than I know the care here is going to be great
My experience with Shady Grove has been impressive. It started off a bit rocky initially trying to get started with the administrative team. Overall has been a good experience. I havent heard much from the financial advisor team but as far as everyone else, clinical team, front desk, nurses, Dr. Pakrashi have all been amazing. Took about 8-10 months and two IVF cycles until a positive test. Needless to say I am extremely happy.
Shady grove has been so amazing in my TTC journey most especially Dr. Pakrashi, Lindsey, Hope, the retrieval/ transfer team, and the whole team. They are welcoming, understanding, caring, easy to talk to, answers every questions, and just simply amazing. They just makes you feel welcome as they know how hard this journey is. Thank you so much!! If you have issues or concerns or need to be seen ASAP! they make time and way to do so. That’s why I greatly appreciate Dr. Pakrashi and her wonderful team.!!!!
Brianna helia and Denise did an amazing job taking my blood and making me feel welcome
The financial department never gets back to you. Five months weve been dealing with a unpaid bloodwork bill. All financial has to do is send the referral in my name over. I dont see where that is so hard. Instead they keep letting it go past due. It will soon go against my credit if not handled. Ive spike to one of the nurses which seemed to get them on top of it but that was short lived till the late bill came the next month. Absolutely uncalled for. Ive even stated I wont go further until it is handled. They dont seem to care.
I have been to 3 fertility clinics in total. None meet the standards of Shady Grove Fertility! The staff and doctors were simply amazing. My spouse and I were so very lucky to get to work with Dr. Pakrashi she is truly wonderful understanding and more than willing to listen to all your concerns. We are now happily expecting and could not be more thankful for SGF and staff!
My experience with SGF Jones was amazing. I really felt like members of the staff treated me so kindly, they felt like friends and family by the time we graduated. Dr. Pakrashi, is one of the most caring and compassionate people Ive met on this planet. She is literally a drop of sunlight walking on Earth. She made me feel seen, heard, and cherished. Through every step of the way I never felt alone. My nurse, Lindsay, has been a pillar of reliance, always giving me the reassurance and information I need to remain positive, even when things got really rough. I was honestly so sad to graduate from SGF Jones, because I will miss the comfort that the staff provided to me through what seemed like such a long journey. I cannot thank Dr. Pakrashi, Dr. Banks, Dr. Thomas, Nessa, Lindsay, Marina, Quilla, Margo, and the whole team enough for helping us live our dreams of becoming parents. Something weve longed for, for so long. When the time comes, we will be back to SGF Jones to help us grow our family again.
My husband and I have been dealing with the Jones institute for almost a year now, and honestly the communication from the offices and the teams have not been stellar. Especially when needing certain documents or procedures done, we were told last minute. Getting individuals to respond at times was not easy, especially when some needed responses in a timely manner. I had an appointment that I needed to move further back due to work emergency, but because they do not schedule between 12-1:30 I was waiting to hear back and it is very frustrating, especially when you are paying $$$ to have procedures and appointments. I will next time if considering things go to another clinic
Would not recommend this infertility clinic to anyone! I call it the Shady grove institute of the forgotten because you literally feel like your forgotten! Your just a dollar sign to the staff! You have to call a million times just to have your care coordinator to put in your IVF medications! They are very hard to reach! But I tell you what when they want thier payments they hound you for it! If your cycle is canceled for what ever reason and its not your fault you still have to pay for that cycle ! The lady at the front desk talks so loud that everyone hears your bussiness and everyone knows what your thier for so embarrassing!!!!!! I can go on and on about this place this isnt half of it!! You really never know whats going on and just feel lost because things are not explained to you properly 😬Ohh heres the kicker they are going up on thier prices starting next month! August 2022!!Please stay clear of this place and Ive been to a couple different ivf clinics but this one takes the cake of horrible bed side manner and poor communication!! Norfolk location is worse!
So far I am loving the experience I just started out with this clinic and I had my consult today with Dr Banks and let me tell you she was a joy to talk to. She made me laugh and was very understanding and she answered all the questions I had. She seemed concerned about everything that I have been through. I am looking forward to this journey with Shady Grove
I love the Jones institute and their staff. They made me feel more of a parent then a patient. Always greeted me when I came in by name knew my husband by name and always asked is how we where doing. I got sick on Thanksgiving and the doctors called me to check on me. Very good place to make your family at. They always made sure I knew instructions on how to do my stim medications and when if felt like I couldnt do them they stayed on the phone with me giving me words of encouragement to get through them. im glad we chose the jones institute to make our dreams come true of being parents.
This practice is a welcoming place, staff is highly professional and service is fast. They really care for patient and Dr Banks has been a great blessing to me. I highly recommend this place.I got pregnant while they were taking care of me.
The staff has been very good to me thus far (my 1st visit was in Newport News, and my 2nd visit was in Norfolk). I can tell they truly care for their patients, even during a pandemic. Special thanks to the nurses (Robin, Margo, et al.) that helped me today as I passed out; nurse Robin even walked me to my car to make sure I was ok to drive, etc. I have no complaints about the EVMS staff Ive met. All I have is appreciation 🤗
Sometimes scheduling appointments can be a pain in the neck at EVMS, but my MD has always been wonderful and most importantly, we have a healthy, happy baby now! They even opened on a Sunday for me for a time sensitive procedure. I definitely recommend The Jones Institute, but sometimes a bit of patience is required.
If I could give this facility zero stars I would! Horrible facility! Do not go to this medical practice. I went here to have tests ran for a major health condition. Had abnormal results, tried to get in to see the DR. to discuss these abnormal results, and appointments kept getting cancelled due to emergency surgeries or other reasons. I never received a call, just an email saying my appointments were cancelled. It is 7 weeks later, and my abnormal results still havent been discussed, nor any help has been given or offered. I guess this is the thanks I get for serving my country honorably for 20 years! I will be taking my business elsewhere, and reporting this neglect. Take it from me, save yourself the headache and seek medical care with a provider that cares about your health and helping you resolve your problem.
I can’t thank Shady Grove enough for their exceptional care. Dr. Pakrashi is the nicest person I have ever met. I’ve never met a medical team so interested in my care and so quick to respond to any need or questions I have.
I wouldnt recommend the Jones Institute. We went there a few weeks ago and left feeling like a $ bill sign. They werent personable or welcoming. Infertility is such a personal thing to go through and you want someone warm and inviting. Unfortunately they failed us and we decided not to go back. The billing department didnt have all their ducks in a row and kept apologizing. You wouldnt know what doctor you would see each appointment. We just didnt like the feel of this place.
The doctors are great and that is very important. However if you ever in a position to rely on the office staff then you are in a lot of trouble. It is a very disorganized place and everyone seems to have bags full of attitude. It seemed like they couldnt care less even when they are at fault. For the money they charge they should be able to hire properly trained personnel who are courteous and be able to help the patients. It was a nightmare experience for us and since this is such a sensitive subject i really hope it was a one off thing but from the way other people are reviewing it I believe it wasnt. If you trust your luck and think you can get it done in one go then I would say go for it but if you think your treatment will take a bit and might involve a bumpy ride I would highly suggest somewhere else.
I had a very positive experience with the Jones Institute. We worked with them for over 3 years. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Staudmeyer and could tell she really knew her stuff. We also worked very closely with Dr. Pakrashi and couldnt love her any more than we do. I underwent ovulation induction, IUI and IVF with Jones. We did get pregnant 3 times under their care. Unfortunately two of those pregnancies were non-viable, but we were very fortunate that they were caring and compassionate throughout all of our struggles. I recently gave birth to a healthy little girl and actually just took her to meet one of the doctors at Jones last week. One of the nurses came to my baby shower. We sent them a baby announcement. We plan to keep in touch with them and they show a sincere interest in us as people- not as a patient. If this wasnt the case, they wouldnt keep in touch with us now-we are not paying them a cent. A nurse there gave me her cell number after a tough appointment where I was upset and by myself and asked me to please text her when I got home safe. You dont feel like a number here, and they are excellent at what they do. I think we are done with our journey, but if things ever changed, I would trust in Jones again one hundred percent.
I have always had a good experience when coming here. The doctors and NP are great!
If you are looking into fertility options you have most likely already experienced moments of grief, loss, uncertainty and confusion. You are absolutely looking in the right place for answers, optimism, and newfound hope. My husband and I did one round of IUI 4 years ago, and were blessed with a beautiful girl. My husband and I went through two rounds of IUI in 2021 - both were unsuccessful. BUT, Dr. Pakrashi and her team of compassionate, hard working, power house women made my experience relaxed, caring, and calculated. Coping with infertility can be hard enough, but having a caring staff with you every step of the way is worth their weight in gold. This team from check-in, to weigh-in, to examination, consultation, and check-out - is seamless, heartfelt and compassionate. The entire staff is hardworking and they wear their hearts on their sleeves. They want success for you as much as you want a family. You cannot go wrong when working with the staff at NORFOLK Shady Grove Fertility!
I personally dont understand all of the negative reviews. Ive been seeing this medical group for a couple of years now due to infertility caused by PCOS. I felt all of their testing was extremely thorough, and that all of the doctors, medical students and staff were nothing but extremely nice, and quick to answer any questions and concerns I had. After unsuccessful attempts on Clomid and Femara, as well as one round of IUI, we decided IVF was probably my best course.Although expensive, especially since my insurance didnt cover, I was really grateful that they offered a shared risk program, which we thankfully qualified for. I was able to get pregnant the very first time on IVF (30 years old), which unfortunately resulted in a miscarriage (embyro wasnt developing correctly past 6 1/2 weeks). The doctors and nurses were so incredibly sweet and sympathetic about it, and I couldnt thank them enough. I was able to do another transfer a couple of months after, successfully got pregnant again, and am happy to say baby is doing perfect, Im doing well myself and we cant wait to meet them in the fall!I just finished a very thorough ultrasound at my 13 week appointment the other day, and they went over everything to make sure all the organs were functioning, skeletal structure was developing, was developing as it should etc. I even had a really extensive genetic appointment through them so that they could best guild me to any tests I might need or any issues that might be a concern (there arent any, I have a normal pregnancy, yay!). Despite what other reviews day, I personally couldnt recommend them enough to anyone suffering from infertility issues, especially if you feel you have to go the IVF route.Edit: Figured Id give an update! Ill be 32 weeks tomorrow, and everything is still going really well. Ill have my last EVMS (as far as I know) fetal ultrasound tomorrow (they did one at 22 weeks as well). They are incredibly patient and still very through during these appointments. They make sure to take the time to see every develop they want to see, even if the baby is being difficult (like mine, he....we found out were having a boy, moves around so much!). The techs Ive had at these appointments have absolutely wonderful bedside manors too, and talk really sweet to the baby. They even asked his name last appointment (if we had one picked out) and addressed him by it the entire time. Still cant recommend EVMS Jones Institute enough!Edit2: We have a very healthy and handsome 4 month old and couldnt be happier! I dont think well do IVF again as we feel extremely lucky that we were able to have just this one. But if we do decide to go that route, well 100% go through Jones Institute again. We even had newborn photoshoot done by BLP Photography (shes amazing!) and did a photo feature of our IVF journey! So worth it!
Was very disappointed with the service and care at the Jones institute. From the very first new patient appointment the doctors at the Jones institute did not give me a positive vibe, something that I feel is very important in the fertility process. I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and per one of the doctors I saw was told it might take up to 8 IUIs before we got a result. It seemed as though they wanted me to go straight to IVF and my husband and I were not ready for this step as we had just started the process. We ended up doing 2 Timed intercourse medicated cycles and one IUI while being seen by the Jones Institute, all of which were extremely disorganized, including dealing with the insurance about the claims that have not been put in correctly By the office. Overall the experience just was not what we were hoping for and I would suggest that you go somewhere else if you want quality, organized care, something that seems very important when you are spending a lot of money for fertility treatment. The only saving grace of the office was one of the nurses, Erica, who helped significantly with the process and made me feel hopeful.
Briona is always friendly and nice! Best team member!
I couldnt agree more with Anon. I personally had an appointment with them and didnt get seen until about 2 hours later. I kept getting oh we are sorry and it continued to happen throughout the visit. When I began to ovulate, I was told to call after I got a positive on the stick. I started calling at 8:30 am and NO ONE COULD POINT me in the right direction. I left so many messages and finally someone called me around 2:30pm. I wanted to talk to the doctor before hand because I wasnt sure if I was still ovulating. Instead they thawed my specimen and did the IUI. I know I should have spoken up but everything was going fast. The is the first time using this clinic and I should have gone to the one we used before. It was $1200 wasted for that one IUI and the doctor that did it, had the nerve to ask me to join in a study. The are not organized whatsoever. No one seems to understand anything. You think that you have discussed everything that you want and they still choose what they want. I received a bill from a company that WAS NOT discussed in our meeting and now the nurse wont even return my calls.
I heard about becoming an egg donar and after speaking with the Jones institute I felt pretty positive I could do it. It requires driving to Norfolk every OTHER day (I live an hour away) and multiple shots a day. After having to extend medication for 5 more days, 1 day away from surgery, they canceled on me. They have been sketchy this entire time, and I truly dont recommend anyone go through this tedious process with them.
This place doesnt even deserve one star! Went to have a sperm washing done for my husband. This was for our first IUI and we were already pretty nervous. When he left his sample we were told it would take an hour. NO ONE TOLD US THAT WE HAD TO STAY! We left and got lunch, and ended up being called by our fertility doctor at NMCP, and was told to go pick it up. I run in and was told to wait in the waiting room. I sat there for 15 minutes before being told you can go get the sample. Once Im up there the lady who collected our sample decided to lecture me saying well you know you should have stayed. I dont know why yall left trying to assume this was common knowledge. I then told her we didnt know and that we were not told this. She had a attitude the entire time I was reading and signing the paperwork. I really wish I never have to go back, but if this IUI fails I sadly have to go back to this awful place. Someone who already has a full plate with infertility should not have to go through this! Plus paying $240 for the washing to be done, and dealing with attitudes. Please properly train staff on how to handle patients!!!!
HELIA was AMAZING! Very friendly and very professional nurse!
The jones institute helped me conceive my sweet baby boy when every other avenue failed. The reviews on this website are disturbing, particularly the fake (and real) reviews from people who want to donate their eggs and/or sperm. Based solely on what the reviewers have written, I could see why they were rejected. That said, the entire infertility process is stressful. The doctors at the jones instritue are professional and im sure that I received the best care possible. If i decided to try again, it would be here.
The office staff are very nice, however, I am unhappy with their decision to not let me donate my eggs. Let me explain. I am a 34 year old, Caucasian woman. I am fully capable of conceiving a child, I am not menopausal and have regular menstural cycles. So I am leaving a 3-star review in hopes that they adjust some of their discriminitory policies to allow me to donate my eggs. Not everyone wants or needs an all-star child conceived from eggs from a 21 year old just looking for drinking money, in fact many of the people I have met with fertility issues, some of them are regular looking people, who do not want a child that will not resemble them. In addition, some of the infertiles I know are mid-thirties to forties, so what sense does it make to use eggs of a woman much younger?I am also aware of the generous payments women can receive for their eggs. This would help greatly improve my situation, After I lost my job, I was on Medicaid which paid for my appts and medications. We also had EBT and TANF, plus some other assistance programs. We had no other help. I did not have any money, have over $48k+ in debt, and have filed bankruptcy.I moved into a very small apartment thinking I could catch up on my debt that was not forgiven in the bankruptcy, however it was still too high of a rent to allow me to make a difference in the debt payments with the outrageous interest rate I recieved. February 26th was my last day in that apartment, so I am currently staying with a friend from church. We didnt break the lease and I gave a proper 30 day notice. I got my Move-Out Report in the mail with the itemized list of deductions saying that after applying my $1,000 deposit, the statement mentioned I still owed $4,600. Looking at this list, it seems ridiculous. Some of the things Im being charged for are pipes being replaced in the walls, completely replacing all the carpet ($2000) which was a little dirty, Ill admit, but nothing that couldnt be taken care of with a wet vac, painting the walls even though I was there less than a year. Looking at the Move out report, I notice that the post mark is 23 days after we vacated the apartment. We never did a documented walkthrough when i moved in and she did a walkthrough when i moved out but it was with a roommate that wasnt on the lease because, She couldnt get ahold of me. Which isnt the case at all. I feel incredibly stupid and naive because I never took pictures of the place. Ive never had to go through this before. Im counter suing for my deposit back and statutory damages.
My partner and I scheduled and appointment for him to have a sentence analysis and my doctors office has reached out to thethem several times and they have yet to fax over the results. The test was done over a month ago. You are holding up my fertility treatment process.
I just wanted to share my experience when I first started this journey I had a appointment with one of the Richmond doctors and his staff I felt like I had to call them to get stuff done it was just too much after that unsuccessful cycle I asked to have Dr. Pakrashi because I’ve heard nothing but great thing about her and her team and let me tell you she exceeded my expectations her the nurses and the staff that gets your vitals and draw your blood had Exceptional customer service I recommend them 100% Dr. Pakrashi and her team are a dream come true and now I have my dream babies coming soon I hope this helps someone too 💓
Great service deniqua , erica , and amber was very helpful..
Briona is the best ! She was so sweet and helpful !
We were so excited to transfer here only to be disappointed within moments of walking into the appt. Their lack of communication and professionalism is concerning. We still have yet to get a response from them about our questions.
Lack of communication!! Doctors keep leaving and they keep making do the same test over and over when a new doctors comes on wasting my time and money ! Definitely not recommended
Staff was rude while calling me to tell me they were increasing what I owed just a couple days before appointment. Do not recommend.
We loved working with Dr. Pakrashi and her staff at the Norfolk office!
I come here and I love it here, the staff is awesome and my doctor Laurel Stadtmauer has always treated me good I couldn’t ask for a better doctor and staff
Ive been there twice, and the staff approach is nice
5 star for the doctors they are great!
