I wanted to make a review after always seeing all these bad reviews. I am on my 3rd pregnancy with Adventhealth Orlando OBGYN. I was transferred after starting my first pregnancy with Adventhealth Waterman due to high risk reasons. From my very first appointment with them I was impressed with how thorough they were. My first delivery was with Dr Boone and I’m so glad it was because he was very calm and in control in my otherwise scary situation (daughter had her cord around neck) he got her out vaginally when everyone else wanted to c section me. My second pregnancy with them went great I am sad the woman who delivered me is no longer there but I have met with most of the staff and really do like them all and feel I am with good hands. Third pregnancy now and have had no issues with them, no issues with labs being done, no phone calls not being answered, all my questions and concerns being answered and they all have had a great bedside manner as well. I would not hesitate to go with them over and over again.
I prepaid to have this team deliver my first child. The day I gave birth I was advised to go to the triage area for expecting mothers and then was told to go back home, despite consistent contractions, blood, and nearly 4 cm dilated. The nurse said, and I quote, “Come back when you don’t look so pretty”.I went home and promptly gave birth on my bathroom floor less than a mile from their hospital as I live in College Park.Awful experience- obviously -but their female doctor, Dr. Brown, takes the cake. She walked in my recovery room after paramedics drove my newborn baby and me to them with the umbilical cord still dangling between my legs, and this woman asked, “Why didn’t you come back sooner?”Do NOT go here. Do yourself *and* your precious baby a favor and go literally anywhere else.
I honestly do not know why there are such terrible reviews. But my time with both the team upstairs and downstairs has been amazing. Everyone has been so kind and so sweet to my two year old even. Ive worked with lauren and chelsea and robin and doctor barriman. And then the staff in the administrative office are all so great. So I highly recommend and I dont leave reviews but I felt compelled since I saw so many terrible ones after having such a great experience.
Doctors change every day of the week. And they dont communicate about patient care between the multiple doctors youre seeing. Or just dont bother to look at patient notes. You will schedule an appointment and they will call you to reschedule. We had 2 appointments during the entire pregnancy that they didnt reschedule. My wife had a c section, and have rescheduled her post Partum check up twice. Now its 2 and a half weeks after her c section. The actual delivery process was the only good thing I have to say about this establishment. If your insurance allows it, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.UPDATE: when I say they cancel every appt...I mean it. We live an hour away. They just called 20 minutes before a scheduled appointment to cancel saying the system is down hospital wide mind you we are already in the parking lot. So I asked the first person in scrubs I see if it is and they say no. We drove an hour for them to cancel 20 minutes before the appointment. Lied to us about why, and got mad when we voiced our frustration about 10 months straight of canceled appointments. This place should be embarrassed to call themselves a medical office. The absolute worst set of hospital workers I have ever encountered. Im shocked they have 2 stars. Please If you value your time, dont waste it at this sorry excuse for a medical office.
I’m just curious as to why the AdventHealth Medical Group responds and apologizes to the one star reviews but does not take anything into accountability to make any changes for the patients suffering from poor prenatal care and customer service. Not that I am a patient here and won’t be going here due to the lack of care these patients are ranting about and the response system here on the review tab. Do better.
I had appt here because apparently the 2 locations closest to me no longer have any female doctors or midwives on fridays and the 2 midwives I always saw before left the company. The week before my appt at Princeton location, they call and say that the doctor wont be there but they can reschedule me for the following Friday at 230 with same doctor, same location. I drove 30min to scheduled appt to an empty office. Literally the only other person there was another lady in the waiting room, waiting on her appt. I called scheduling and they told me that the office closed at noon. I had good experience in the past with other locations but I will be switching to someone else.
Imagine driving 40 minutes to an appointment then to be told we can’t see you. Got there with my wife she was only 13 minutes late cause she was in the parking lot feeding a crying newborn (within the grace period) they then told us to wait just to later told us we going to have to rescheduled. You guys are heartless. No compassion.
This office is so disorganized and incompetent. I really like the doctors who work here, but the office staff is always losing my records, neglecting to schedule me, and they are never on the same page. I had a surgery recently with them and as I was waiting for results, a scheduler from their office called me to...schedule surgery. Instead of admitting to her mistake when I said I had already had surgery, she had the nerve to tell me I needed another one. I was so confused and terrified, but thankfully I was able to speak to someone else who confirmed the scheduler was incorrect. They have given me different fax numbers every time Ive called. I sent a fax from my other doctors office nearly a month ago and they never followed up. I had to call their office repeatedly to ask if theyd received it. Though I was receiving successful fax messages on my end, they were too disorganized to locate it and didnt get I uploaded into my chart. Over the years theyve just gotten worse and worse. I feel sorry for the doctors who have to work with such disorganized and rude office staff.
I wish I had googled this practice before I chose to go with them although I didn’t have very many options as hardly anyone would take a transferring patient. I moved here from out of state at 16 weeks pregnant. They accepted me which was good but my experience since then hasn’t been great. I agree with other reviews that you are treated like a number and the quality of care is not where it should be. I meet with a different doctor every time and it is true that you can ask them the same question and get a different answer even regarding their own policies. They churn and burn thru patients and don’t take the time to make sure they properly answer your questions and they definitely do not proactively educate patients on anything. It is purely check babies heart rate, measure bump and gtfo. No doctor has shown any interest in what I want for delivery day or discussed options with me. Or even made sure I’m doing ok, or shown any interest in symptoms and helping guide a new mom through dealing with symptoms. If I ask about birth options they say they don’t have a form or a guide. Which is untrue, I eventually found one of the hospitals website. I had to make appointments at other offices far away because they don’t have any availability. They’re just as bad. I really hope my experience at their women’s hospital for delivery is better. I was told not to call and to just come to the hospital if I think I’m going into labor. I thought that was odd too. Also the frequency of appointments as I near the end of pregnancy has not been what the guides all say they should be. Apparently I should have started biweekly appointments earlier and weekly appointments earlier than they do as well, according to “what to expect when you’re expecting” at least. Also due to COVID 19 I can’t even have a doula unless they’re my one support person. Meaning my husband wouldn’t even be able to be there if I had a doula. So that’s very disappointing.
After having shopped around for prenatal care providers, and even having attended appointments with other practitioners, we decided to transfer to AdventHealth. We have had an outstanding experience with my high risk pregnancy. The care and attention we have received has really given us peace of mind. We really enjoy the appointments and one on one attention. We have never felt rushed and feel that the OBGYN team has prepared and informed us well. Unlike with other physicians we visited previously, this team has taken the time to answer all our questions and has been very up front with everything. We love AdventHealth and look forward to continuing our care here in the years to come.
I am a current patient and this is the worst obgyn office, I have ever dealt with. They make a lot of administrative errors. I have been trying to get birth control implant since July/August of last year. First they lost my paperwork. No one called me to tell me. After months of calling, I was finally told I had to go back in to resign paperwork, which I did. Then getting the implant was taking forever and after calling their office several times was told the hold up was the pharmacy but the pharmacy advised the hold up was the obgyn office since they were not responding to information request to complete the order. Not the first time I ve heard this from a pharmacy regarding this practice. Finally my birth control was delivered to them mid February. They did not have an appointment available till a month later in March. Guess what? I got a call and email at 5pm the business day before my appointment to tell me its being canceled. I call back to reschedule and they dont have any openings till more than a month later. Someone made a mistake with scheduling but I guess it was too much to ask them to call me to reschedule in a timely manner as opposed to canceling the day before. Please do not waste your time with this practice. They cant seem to do anything correctly. Once I get the implant, I will be moving to another practice. Its like having a second job with the amount of follow up I need to do with them. I am currently waiting for their practice manager to call me back.
I was unhappy with my first OB and decided to change at around 20 weeks. I had to wait for my MR to be reviewed which did take about a week but I was informed that this would be the case which I understand this is a very busy practice. I was able to be seen within a month of calling which was ok because I wasnt having any issues. They were in constant contact with my high risk OB and when my high risk OB sent me to the Womens OB at the hospital they treated with me with the upmost respect and urgency. My ECV was delayed due to a crazy day but this is out of their control. They were very apologetic and gave me their full attention when I was having the ECV. In fact, I had like 6 MDs in the room when the MD was doing the ECV. I ended up having to come back and delivered by son by emergency C-section the next day. They keep me and my son save in a very critical situation and we are both healthy and happy. I felt very supported throughout the entire process. The MDs were phenomenal...caring, friendly, empathetic, and extremely professional. I will never go anywhere else.Side note: Advent Health NICU is AMAZING. My first son was born 2 months early and not at WP where I was supposed to deliver. WP would not accept my son. Advent Health accepted him even though I didnt receive care from Advent Health for this pregnancy. They saved my sons life. This is not an exaggeration. His APGARS were 1 and 2 and was in septic shock. I was also septic at a hospital 20 miles away. Once I was stable the hospital OB said I couldnt be transferred because it wasnt medically necessary. The NICU MD knew I needed to be with my son so he called the OB floor and had them accept me. When I told the hospital I was at and gave the OB the name she asked for their number (Really, you cant figure that out?) and then told me I would likely get charged for the ambulance ride. I needed to be with my son and transferred to Advent Health that night. I was able to see my son that evening about 36 hours after delivering. I held him for the first time a week after delivering and we walked out of the hospital when he was 5 weeks. He was supposed to be there at least 2 months if not 3.
The Dr.’s & midwifes are great! However the staff has poor communication which can lead to a stressful pregnancy and postpartum. I was told at my 38th week appointment that I could order my birth control at my 2nd week appointment. Did that. They told me it could take 6 weeks. 6 weeks later when I went for my appointment I notified the nurse and asked about the medicine. She said it can take 6 weeks I said this is the 6th week. She said that she actually didn’t see that it was ordered left to ask someone then came back and told me that it could take 8-12 weeks.I called at 8 weeks and was told that I needed to call to verify that the medicine could be sent to the office on my behalf. Then they told me the medicine would be there the next day. I got a call the next day from the office and they said the only appointment they have available is a month away. So in total I would have waited for my medicine to be placed in for 2 months. My frustration with this office is being treated as a number, they do not take your personal concerns seriously. They promote the patient portal stating secured messages sent to your doctor but on today when I messaged both of my doctors I received a message from someone else that then copied and pasted their reply to me and stated that is what they did which came off very distasteful. I would rather my doctor reply acknowledging the scheduling issue than a staff member who didn’t tell me that in 8weeks I would have it in. I have to wait 2 months for my Medicine to be implanted. It’s very hard to find great care nowadays that isn’t just chasing numbers & where everyone cares including the staff. Good luck!
We switched to The OBGYN here from Winnie Palmer. I recommend this practice to anyone looking for one. I dont feel like just a number here. If I ever have a question and call the nursing station you get to talk to someone in person instead of a week later. Weve had great experiences every prenatal visit. Plus the delivering hospital is right across the street and so I feel very safe as a new pregnant mom.
I have been through an ectopic and am luckily well into my second pregnancy here at AdventHealth Obgyn... I have been a member of this practice since well before my baby years and I have never had a bad experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this office and the practitioners are amazing and kind. They spend time caring for you and always answer the nurses line when you have an issue. I love this staff, they are a guiding hand in a very complicated and nerve wracking time in your life.
Currently a patient at Loch Haven and can honestly say this is my biggest regret sticking with them they make you see a different doctor every time you come to your appointment because you dont know who will be there at the time of your delivery and I always ask each dr the same question and I get different responses evey time. Recently they told me after months of not saying anything that I needed confirmation from a cardiologist on if it was safe for me to have a regular birth or csection after months of me asking. Being a woman of color we have the highest mortality rate when it comes to child birth and loch Haven has literally made my blood pressure go up after each appointment. This practice is unorganized nobody communicates with each other and the doctors dont listen to the patients I should of ran when I told the Nurse Midwife Jessica Reinhart I was having UTI symptoms and she told me I didnt have a uti because she looked at my urine but the following day she emailed me and told me according to my lab work I had a UTI. Find somewhere else to have prenatal care A place that listens to you.
My pregnant wife went there because she was bleeding early pregnancy. The doctor decided to quickly inspect her and bluntly diagnose her as an early miscarriage with no ultrasound comformation and with no empathy provided. My wife broke down and started crying in the car. We went to a local ob and the are providing the care that she needs with prayer and EMPATHY. I was a clinical director and know the importance of empathy in providing competent client quality of care. The doctor and this office in general, did not provide this for my wife. Employee behavior such as this would not have been tolerated under my watch.
The staff and logistics at this office are terrible.Every time you call they’re never able to find appointments within a reasonable amount of time even if you’re open to see any doctor. They simply say we’re booked, all doctors are booked for the next two to three weeks and they try to push you to see a nurse practitioner.I called today with an urgent matter and the receptionist did not want to accommodate my need at all. I understand that they can be completely booked but if I’m dealing with an urgent matter I should be able to see a doctor sooner than 2-3 weeks! I highly doubt they have no doctos available with such a large practice. I think they’re just trying to fill the nurse practitioner’s books. I won’t pay your ridiculous prices to go see a nurse. I will be finding a better practice that actually cares about their patients.
The worse experience in my entire life. The staff extremely horrible. Advent Health should be ashamed to have people like them sit at there front desk. I thought the woman had a seizure the amount of times she rolled her eyes. If they had a option for no stars I would give them that. I work with 7 hematology oncology doctors right across the street and we would get in trouble if we act like that in the front line. In addition I am a new patient and I have completely left your practice.
Haven’t even gone to see the doctor, because it’s an absolute effing nightmare to schedule an appointment. I have received FOUR calls from the office and every time I call back to try to schedule an appointment, they tell me “no one from this office has called you”. Even though I have voicemails from them? I don’t know why the office staff is so incompetent and unable to keep track of who they are calling, but this is ridiculous! I am having a serious medical concern and have had several ultrasounds and my doctor sent me here as a referral, but as of now it’s impossible to set up an appointment because they keep telling me that I’m calling the wrong number.
This office is fine, but I feel more comfortable being seen by female providers. They never have any available. I have tried in multiple locations and no one is ever available. If you have a preference, this is not the practice for you.
My wife came home and was upset about her appointment. The doctors bedside manner is very much lacking. Im highly disappointed in everything Ive heard. My wife wouldnt write the review, but Im happy to help express her opinion. She chose 2 out of 5 stars... I would have left it blank, but I dont have a uterus.
Terrible service. went to get an iud removed, they then sent me downstairs to get an ultra sound because they couldnt find the iud, a whole WEEEK later and the Dr. Brown STILL hasnt reviewed my results and still hasnt told me what our next step is. ive gone in person and spoken to a nurse over the phone 3 separate times and each person has told me i would be put on an urgent list but over a week later and i still havent heard from a single person. Unless youre about to go into labor or dying from something apparently there is no sense of urgency to assist your case.
This place feels like a Asylum the ob name dr Balint is horrible and mean she told me I was having a miscarriage with out even doing a ultrasound because she was to scared of blood. She is a very cold person and had no sympathy or compassion she didnt even want me there she was yelling at me when I tried to remember when my last period was. Thankful I got a second opinion because my baby isnt a miscarriage.
My whole pregnancy has been a roller coaster ride not only did they make me and my sons hospital stay comforting and super exceptional but they treated us with so much gentle care. Some people do it because it pays well not here though you can feel the genuine love for the job Thank you so much to my nurses, midwives and whoever else had a hand in my sons delivery God bless!
I simply just want to schedule an appointment for family planning. Starts from Feburary to call to have an appointment, rescheduled twice all because of doctors that I have appointment with are not available. The front desk lady who take appointment, she does not care about the inconvenience it cause to me for 2 months can not simply schedule an appointment with doctor. She tried to schedule the 3rd time with me, and does not care losing patience to see the doctor. After 15 minutes of ineffective communication, I said thank you and end the phone call.
This was a great practice for many years, and I’d be willing to guess the doctors are still great but the appointment setters are inconsiderate and borderline rude. Also takes a full month to get an appointment for an existing patient who needs to get in urgently. Been a patient here for ten years but I’m going to start shopping for a new doctor. I prefer an atmosphere where I’m more than just a number.
What an amazing experience... I saw several doctors and nurse midwives from this practice and they all have been excellent. Everyone is compassionate, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond. I will be returning for future pregnancies.
So disappointed with how difficult it is to get an appointment. And to get one on your preferred date and time? Forget it. This needs to be fixed somehow. Either add more providers or work longer hours, weekends or whatever else you can do in order to meet the needs of your patients.
Have had appointments cancelled 2 hours before scheduled multiple times and are always making reschedule even if the appointment was regarding urgent matter
As a Black woman, I nearly died under these peoples care. Be skeptical, keep impeccable records and question EVERYTHING. Better yet, go somewhere else if possible.
Horrible phone service! Called several times last week, I was transferred to the wrong department 4 different times, asked for information 4 times still no assistance on appt! If you call this location you will surely be ran around in circles with no explanation from staff!
Like too many medical practices today, there are some good, caring medical providers here, but it’s ultimately a large mill that cycles people in and out with little personal attention or feel and an above average collection of incompetent or unhelpful admin staff.
Very disorganized. Don’t tell you you need to have insurance information filled out before or they will cancel your appointment.
