We got pregnant with our twins over 3 years ago and it was the best experience, with a (new at the time) invocell treatment. We are getting ready to go back for our last embryo and I cant wait to work with the team again! Highly recommend. I love that they arent in it for the money and they care about you and your outcome!
My husband and I had adopted embryos and were left in a lurch after our original RE had suddenly retired. After a HORRIBLE experience with another office, we began our search for a doctor who was actually willing to listen and work with us on the protocol that had worked for us previously. We found that with Dr. Smith and Rocky Mountain Fertility. We knew immediately when we met her that this was the place we wanted to be. The office is small and personal. I saw Dr. Smith at almost every appointment and I felt that she really was involved in every step of our care. She is very knowledgeable and took the time to really listen to my thoughts and concerns. The nurses and staff were fantastic and I was always able to correspond with my nurse directly. They even answered the phone when I called, which is something you dont get many places. At the last place, I felt like a cow in a breeding program, but at RMF, I was treated as an individual with individual needs and desires. I look forward to working with Dr. Smith and her team again in the future!
Get a second opinion! I’m writing this as I’m currently pregnant, no thanks to this office. I was told my ONLY option for having another child was with IVF which we can’t afford. So I got a second opinion at a different fertility center where that doctor disagreed with a lot of what Dr Smith had to say and after 3 months of treatment I got pregnant (not IVF). So please get another opinion before giving all of your money away to this office.
The fact that they take the time to argue with patients and try to make them feel bad about their coverage tells you everything you need to know. The most dehumanizing and unproductive experience where I was treated as dollar sign. Dealing with infertility is difficult enough and this place just cares about how much money they can get out of you before addressing any medical issues. I was lied to over the phone and to my face about my insurance coverage and was then expected to pay thousands out of pocket like it was nothing. The front desk worker gave me someone else’s paperwork with all their information my first time, guess they’ve never heard of hipaa and then they couldn’t answer any of questions about how much I owed them. Dr. Smith didn’t listen to me, and went straight for the most invasive and uninformed treatment plan. Absolutely traumatizing and made me not want to work with any clinic if they all push for IVF or a surrogacy first time meeting without looking at medical records. Also most health insurance companies prefer you get bloodwork and sonograms before they pay for more invasive procedures, this clinic doesn’t care to make this process easier.
I keep getting bills from this place for sperm storage. I have never used fertility treatments in my life. Nor needed to.im in my 40s and have an 8 year old. Im done with kids. Furthermore they d9nt have my first name correct on the bill they sent me. I live on the east coast and have never even been to Colorado. They can keep sending me bills but they aint getting a dime from me.
Dr. Smith and her staff evaluated my situation and provided a customized plan that led to a live birth or my daughter, for which Im eternally grateful. There are occasional issues with communication and billing, but Ive experienced similar elsewhere. The IVF process is complicated if you havent done your research and stay on top of your own care.
They have a whole process just to get more money out of you, instead of just allowing a women to get her reversal just because she wants to. As far as I know, its my body, my money and my life, if I want my reversal without a sex partner involved thats my choice, what I do with my life is my choice whether I have more kids or not is a risk I want to take. I dont care about how old I am or if I ever have more children or not, I want my reversal done, period. I see this place as just a scam for more money thats all because if it was real then they would have just accepted me to get my Reversal, sex partners have nothing to do with the women getting it done. Its a womens body and choice after all.Well they finally responded but still doesnt make sense. First of all what the hell does a 60 year old have to do with a women like me in my mid 30s, I dont need a partner to get a reversal done when its my body, my choice, and Im the kind of person who always tells family and friends where Im at and if I want to undergo a surgery like this, Im not dumb enough to not have a friend or family member there. You people just dont know what to come up with to cover bullshxt and lies of how false this place is, you are all just taking money from people. Dont waist my time with excuses. Bye
I would like to give 10 stars if possible. The entire team is just so helpful and is really doing their best to make sure that you getting pregnant. Thank you all for helping me get a baby after years and years of trying. I am very grateful to DR.Smith and the entire team
Dr. Smith made our dream of becoming parents come true! Dr. Smith is very knowledgeable and bases all of her decisions/information on scientific studies/research. She always listens and never pushes you, but will tell you her opinion based on that research. Although we got several bouts of sad news, she always had a next step in mind for us. Our nurses were always incredibly kind and caring as well! I highly recommend this clinic.
Please for the love of God go else where. This place isnt worth the added stress on top of what you may already be feeling while reading these reviews to see if this place is best for you. Im telling you now its not.The turn over rate with this place is wild. I have been dealing with these people since 2016. Its ALWAYS been terrible. Your calls arnt returned, billing is always a joke I thought the last woman before was bad but Princess tops the worst of the worst, emails arnt returned etc. I could honestly go on and on about this place but I wont waste anymore of my time or money on this place.
1) Terrible communication and no follow-up. We are still waiting after 2 left messages and 2 emails to get information from the first appointment we were promised. 2) Told us we needed to speak to the doctor to get pricing but the pricing request never came. 3) Our OBGYN recommended them (which is advertised as free), but we were told to pay $230 out of pocket 5 minutes before our first consultation. 4) They managed to make an exciting part of our lives and a simple pricing request to see if our family can afford an IUI, turned to make us feel ripped off and insignificant. Ive never felt a complete lack of care from a medical facility like I have from the Rocky Mountain Fertility Clinic.
DO NOT COME HERE! My experience matches others here, so pls read the other reviews to see how extremely unprofessional RMFC is. Ive called numerous times over several weeks to get my test results with no response. The few times I managed to get an actual person on the phone, theyd just keep telling me that theyd have it done soon. I stopped believing that after week 2 of no results. Dont even ask me whats going on with billing because thats been a mystery with them too. It honestly feels fraudulent.BTW RMFC-- its a literal HIPAA breach to respond to negative reviews with a patients treatment dates/details. Its honestly embarrassing that you respond to patients in such an unprofessional and illegal manner.
Dr Smith and her team are wonderful to work with. Since it is a smaller office, everyone knows who you are and takes the time to get to know you. We had a wonderful experience. Dr Smith is warm and caring and has great bedside manner. She is also very honest and sets expectations very well, and she will do everything in her power to have a successful IVF. She did an outside of the box protocol to help me and my husband get pregnant through IVF.We truly loved having her as our doctor, and her staff is just as wonderful. I would highly recommend them.
Dr.Smith and her staff were amazing and very thorough. We came to this office after having a negative experience at a local fertility clinic. It was clear from the first visit that we were in good hands! We did two rounds of IUI and the 2nd try worked for us! We are currently due in March and very excited! I would recommend anyone to go here first before other options.
Dr Smith was so kind and accommodating. She really cares about my husband and I expanding our family. She is very thorough and made sure we understood the process. 10/10 recommend!!
I saw Dr. Smith last year for fertility issues. She was very straight forward, which I didnt mind. She checked everything and ended up doing a surgery to remove some polyps from my cervix. I was pregnant my next cycle just with the surgery! My baby is now 2 months old. I was so impressed because I had another doctor completely ignore this issue even when they did a surgery on my cervix and noticed bumps. Dr Smith may rub some the wrong way, but is definitely good at her job and tells it like it is.
Dr. Smith and her team are amazing! The infertility process is arduous and emotional. We had consults with 2 other nearby centers and were less than impressed with their communication and knowledge. My father is a surgeon and Dr. Smith came highly regarded by other OB/gyn’s in the medical community after his inquiry. I found Dr. Smith to be extremely compassionate and I had complete trust in her throughout the process. We now have 2 healthy, perfect children and could not have done this without everyone at RMFC
We were immediately comfortable with our care at Rocky Mountain Fertility. Dr. Smith and her whole team took the time to ensure we understood our options while also taking time to also understand our history and care needs. We are excited to continue our care here!
Please read the legitimate reviews here and you will realize that the 4.1 star average rating is artificially increased by bogus 5 star reviews without comments. As far as my experience goes, my wife and I had two failed IVF attempts here. This is not a post by someone who is disappointed by IVF not working. We were told horror stories that we were only one of the few couples that this has not worked for over the past 10 years of practice and that their success rates are 90%+. I would love to see this official statistic, because it is an obvious lie. In addition to this, Dr. Smith suggested that we burn the inside of my wifes uterus for some rare condition, do a another surgery, etc.Of course, after doing the research and consulting with many other clinics, we found that the information we received by RMFC is not correct and that they are using outdated IVF practices. If we had listened to Dr. Smith, we would have most likely reduced our chances to get pregnant event further. Luckily, we decided to take our 3rd attempt with another clinic and are now 6 months pregnant with a baby boy.The Dr. who helped us during this process was amazed about the diagnosis Dr. Smith gave us and smiled at the 90% success rate (do your own research on this and dont be sold a fairytale). In addition, this clinic has shady business practices with a completely dysfunctional accounting team where you get billed for the things you should not pay. At one point, they told us that we owed them $3K for the things that were covered by insurance and that they would not talk to us until we pay the bill (right after a failed IVF attempt). After going through over 100 pages of billings documents (luckily my wife is an accountant), we found that they actually owed us money. 2 years later, I am still fighting over an issue where I paid for the genetic testing service out of pocket (which is at a reduced price in comparison to billing insurance as we knew insurance would not cover this), but the clinic sent the bill to my insurance (which of course does not cover this procedure). Now, a genetic analysis company is chasing me around for a $1,800 bill and threating to sue me. I reached out to RMFC and they are completely useless. They just told me that the person who handled my account is no longer with the company and that they cannot help me. :)Suggestion to all people searching for an IVF clinic with or without insurance, check out clinics in Europe. Most of the times they have much more modern equipment, are up-to-date with current best practices and are much cheaper. They will simply charge you around $5K for the whole procedure and that is it. No hassle with insurance and even worse, if you dont have insurance, paying $50K for something as simple as IVF makes so sense at all.Embryolab Fertility Clinic in Thessaloniki, Greece worked for us after 6 months of extensive research. We are so happy that we took the time to do the research and we were spot on.Good luck!
Dr Smith seemed nice, but her staff was not honest with me and I feel manipulated. There are many other options in Denver. I would avoid this place.
It was a fast appointment and we covered a lot all at once, but everything was explained and we were able to get started with labs and a plan that same day. Dr Deborah was very knowledgeable and kind and I felt very comfortable with moving forward and what the plan was going to be.
Dr. Smith and her team are phenomenal and have given us the greatest gift of our little girl. She is now 2 and thriving:). We are now back to transfer our next little one and always feel supported, taken care of and get transparent communication from Dr. Smith. My husband and I recommend this clinic with the highest regard.
I attempted over a two week period to schedule an appointment with Rocky Mountain Fertility Center, but no one picks up the phone or returns voicemails. I was able to connect to another department, who transferred me to the front desk. Once connected to the front desk I was told that they are book. I can’t review the service provided, only the fact that the front desk and scheduling seems unprofessional.Response to owners response:On one day I called there was an automated message stating that you are closed on 12/26, not several days. Your statement of three calls for every message is inaccurate, since a never received a single call. Also, when I was able to finally reach the front desk. I did not request an appointment in the next 15 minutes. I asked for an appointment this week. Frankly, the unprofessionalism from this center is apparent by how I was treated during the call in question and other reviews. There are other clinics in the Lone Tree area that pick up the phone and so far are willing and happy to work with costumers. Don’t waste your time with Rocky Mountain. I did lower my review to one star based on the response from the owner.
BARBARIC, WORST, MOST DEMORALIZING EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES. Rocky Mountain Fertility Center is the most unprofessional medical facility I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. If I could give negative stars, I would. The staff is unorganized and cant even pay attention to the spelling of patients names. They canceled our appointment because another patient with a similar name called to cancel their appointment. Do you want a practice who cant even get appointments right to be in charge of very invasive and important work on your potential future child, not to mention their inattention to the mothers well being? When you are on day 1 of your cycle, forget about being able to contact the office to set up required tests. You wont receive a call back at all. You might receive an email 3 days later that could go to your junk mail. They also will not provide care without MAKING SURE that youre up to date on your balance. Even after showing a confirmation number from my bank that the latest payment was on the way, they still had to confirm that our next payment would be made before providing the next step in diagnosis. The medical staff use medical jargon in their explanations and treat their patients like they are stupid if they dont understand their language. We are a smart, successful, professionally developed couple and we were treated as if we were uneducated morons the second we walked in the door. Bed-side manner is a negative, demoralizing experience, and we have never even met the doctor who is signing off for this care. They did a painful procedure while training new staff at the same time. Instead of providing efficient service with minimal pain, the nurse prolonged the pain while she taught the new staff member. If you want good, professional, caring, knowledgeble, attention-to-detail care, DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE. Its a baby puppy mill, only worse.
Dr. Smith and staff are Of excellence. I have seen several other REs and they are very pushy and about sales. Dr. Smith takes the time to explain and she gives you facts. This is a Dr you can trust has your best interest in mind. I have been working with her team for over a year now and can truly confirm she is reliable and absolutely puts her patients first. Her dedication is really admirable! I am so lucky to have found her and her team.
This was our first time at RMFC. We had a very pleasant experience with all the staff. They were so helpful and were very attentive. Dr. Smith took time to go through all of our past exams and also to explain our situation and options. Even though she probably has seen a lot of people with similar stories, she cared about ours and gave us answers that were needed. We are hoping for the following appointments to go as smooth as the first one.UPDATE: WE only have had good experiences here!!! So thankful for this place!!!
Thanks to Dr Smith and her wonderful nurse Ahilin we are just weeks from welcoming our sweet little boy. I am so grateful to them.I would recommend these two to just about anyone I know over and over again.
We were with RMFC for a year. If you are going through insurance I would find another clinic. Estimates were wrong or not ready before payment was demanded for ivf cycles to start. We were billed for things already paid by insurance or us. Invoicing was behind and we would receive statements for things already paid by insurance or out of pocket. Our payments were not showing up for months just charges. We also received threateningcorrespondence and getting collection bills. (You have to pay before any appointments or procedure) The billing/admin/accounting made this process a nightmare. Front desk is pretty awful to call into and get to you. She is usually on personal calls and when she gets to youYou feel like an inconvenience. I also feel like our case files were mixed up a few times with others when given information about our case which kinda freaked us out. Were both infertile which we found out through Dr Smith and Ive run out of time at 33/34 and she explained in a way I connected to. I think she played with our insurance a little too much to get as much money as she could. That caused us to lose our chance to move forward. She isnt a doctor who really cares which I totally understand but it sucked at times. Child free it is. Baby dust and good luck to anyone else trying.
Dr. Smith is great! Always responds all our questions/concerns and guide us through our pregnancy. She provides a lot of helpful information even before we ask. She’s just great, we’re glad she’s our Dr. The nurses and staff are great as well, always very friendly and explaining everything. We love this office!
A total scam. We were referred by our PCP to this clinic which we were told was on our insurance. I do work in the UC Health system and have the highest coverage. We only get to have a
Great consultation visit. Nurse provider Cassie made me feel comfortable and she was very informative and knowledgeable. I do feel like the amount for a consultation is a little expensive being that it is a charge to speak to a provider, and does not include any form of actual treatment, however the overall experience was more helpful than it has been with my previous primary care physicians. I feel confident that I have made a good choice choosing this organization.
This review is for Rocky Mountain Fertility Center Reproductive Endocrinology, not the OB/Gyn listing (in case this review gets moved there too, look at that listing for more reviews though). The doctor here is a joke and just wants money. Billing consistently is inaccurate and appears fraudulent. Simple things like hand washing before procedures never happen. The standard of care here is awful and the time wasted here means less time to get the help needed. I dont know how Dr. Deborah Smith has a license to practice, the bedside manner is bad but forgivable, its the incompetence and mistakes that makes things scary. Please dont waste your precious time and money here, go somewhere else where your efforts have a better chance.
I have to say I am shocked at the poor reviews for Dr Smith and her office. In 2013 after seeing a different endocrinologist who had terrible be side manner and read me another patients chart we decided to get a second opinion from Dr Smith as other friends had used her. She was wonderful then and now that we are trying for a second child she is wonderful now. In 2013 I found her staff and her to be thoughtful and thorough and I dont feel like anything has changed. We have our beautiful toddler thanks to Dr Smith, this is especially amazing since the previous Dr left us with no hope and said we probably wouldnt be able to carry full term. I am excited to begin this journey again with Dr Smith and her team.
If you are a veteran and are referenced here through VA healthcare please do not waste your time or money. Worst service ever, pretty much negative value service. I suggest you reschedule with a different company clinic. At this place they will not accept you nor be friendly.
I came to Dr. Smith after suffering from infertility and recurrent miscarriages. My previous doctors were unable to figure out what was happening and so I sought out a specialist. I felt a sense of relief as I met with Dr. Smith and she gave us a plan going forward. After just one cycle we found out we were pregnant and were finally staying pregnant. I can’t thank Dr. Smith enough for her care, expertise, and kindness.Nurse Alyssa was also amazing! She lead me through all of the steps of the process and has given such supportive care to me over the weeks and months. I wish I could stay forever! If you are looking for a more personalized approach in a small practice, this is your place. Dr. Smith and her nurse do everything themselves and eliminate the red tape in large practices. I am so grateful for their care and help!
We had been to other doctors, and had almost lost hope, and all our money trying for our baby. When we went to Rocky Mountain we weren’t sure if things would work out. She was curious and willing to try some very non-traditional things! We were so relieved to not keep trying the same approach again and again. Angela and the rest of the staff are amazing. Dr. Smith is so hands on and always keeps her eye on the ball. We have zero regrets and faith that she was smart enough to realize when the “normal” course may not work. On our very last embryo and out very last chance (before we’d have to go to surrogate) we finally got our Simon. He was the last of 16 frozen embryos, and now he’s our crazy little boy. We can’t thank them enough and know with 100% certainty he wouldn’t be here with another clinic. Thank you so much to Deb and Angela.
I felt it was important to leave a review about my experience because I know what its like to be searching for a doctor and not sure where to go. I almost gave up on fertility treatment because of the way other doctors had treated me with lack of bed side manners, but Dr Smith renewed my faith that there are doctors that still care. If you want a Doctor who is caring, knowledgeable and compassionate, then you will love Dr Smith and her staff. At Rocky Mountain Fertility Center I was treated like a person with feelings and not just another patient with fertility problems. If I had any questions they would answer me within a day or two. The fertility process can take a long time so be patient. I always felt very supported and informed. Both my husband and I had issues and she helped my husband bounce back to normal. We felt that her prices were fair and her main focus was not money.
Dr Smith and her team are amazing and were with me every step of the way through the process. This journey is not for the faint of heart and it’s comforting to know that 24/7 my calls were answered and I was take care of. She is very thorough also and makes sure every single thing is thought of and checked on so you are successful. If you are trying to have a baby and it has not been a straight shot to get pregnant, you have come to the right place.
I had an awful experience with Rock Moutain Fertility Center, and would not recommend this place to anyone. Specifically, the nursing staff is absolutely horrible, rude, judgmental, and extremely unhelpful. I’m pretty sure they don’t have a compassionate bone in their body. My whole experience with them cost thousands of dollars and they made us go through expensive invasive and in my opinion unnecessary testing. It took over 3 and a half months just to get treatment, and when you’re trying to have a baby, that is a lifetime. They kept telling me “to wait and be patient”. Meanwhile, my previous infertility doctor said “you have a history of PCOS and don’t ovulate normally, here’s your Clomid prescription” meanwhile they took 3.5 months to write any sort of prescription. I have a history of PCOS and I do no ovulate regularly or normally. I told them this, and they still insisted that I re-did my labs (I didn’t feel like they believed me when I said I had PCOS) just to show that yes-I do indeed have PCOS. The only other thing they found out was that I have mild hypothyroidism & low vitamin D levels, which were supposed to be rechecked. They also wanted to do a an invasive and expensive procedure to see if my tubes were open, I have been pregnant before, so obviously they are open. They wanted to do a semen analysis on my husband which I told them we thought was unnecessary because I’m the one with the infertility issues, they made us do it anyways and of course a hefty bill we had to pay out of pocket. I did not feel like they listened to me at all, the patient. After meeting with Dr. Smith, she finally wrote me a Rx for Clomid, and told my husband and I to call on the second day of my period as that was when I was supposed to take the medication to let the office know. Life happened, I got busy and forgot to call. So I messaged them letting them know that I was taking the medication. The nurse was so rude and irritated with me that I took the medication because apparently there is a risk of developing an ovarian cyst that could be deadly to the patient and you have to have ultrasound screening with it. None of this was me by Dr. Smith when we had our meeting. I didn’t develop an ovarian cyst and was fine, but then they wanted me to do labs right after I found out I was pregnant. I told them we simply could not afford it at the moment as my husband recently switched her jobs, and our insurance didn’t kick in until the 1st of the month, and that was when we could get labs done (we were also still paying of thousands of dollars of medical bills from all of their testing they ordered and there was no way we could pay out of pocket for the labs) I told them this, with no response back. Then after my new insurance kicked in, I contacted them to make sure That the appropriate labs were going to be sent in. I received a snarky message from one of the nurses that it was too late, and since I’m not following their instructions they don’t feel comfortable treating me anymore and to go to my OBGYN for treatment. I was only 4 weeks pregnant, that is not too late for treatment, especially for labs?? Give me a break! She was going to recheck my progesterone, TSH, vitamin D, and HCG levels, nothing earth shattering. No compassion from the nurse or understanding, i waited 2 weeks too long to do the labs because we didn’t have insurance at the time, so we’re not Taking care Of You Anymore, and don’t care what your labs are anymore. She acted like I intentionally didn’t get the labs done because I just wasn’t listening to them, which is not true at all. Talk about judgmental! No understanding of whatsoever, and was complete cold& heartless response. This clinic & it’s staff areUnbelievable & pathetic & terrible at providing patient care!!What ever happened to listening to the patients? What happened to showing compassion and kindness to them especially when they are in a very sensitive and vulnerable position? What happened to trying to provide cost effective less invasive treatment to patients so they don’t come out swimming in debt?
My displeasure with the clinic is with their lack of professionalism in billing. I had the same procedure for six months. RMFC billed things differently on the last months and I ended up with a bill. I contacted my insurance that assured they paid everything out and that if there is anything outstanding the clinic should file any missing claims. I emailed the clinic my EOB and list of processed claims as they had requested. Instead of replying to my email and addressing the discrepancy with me to get it sorted out with my insurance, RMFC sent me to collections. The entire time I received treatment their billing department was behind and I would never receive an up to date bill until I was threatened with collections. I don’t have a problem paying for services that I received. But i will not pay for services that are covered by my insurance. I literally received the same exact services, every month and for some reason on the last month one of the services is not covered?!? It doesn’t make sense. My insurance is the same. So they either coded something differently or showed a complete disregard to my attempts to work things out between them and my insurance. The lack of professionalism is a shame. I don’t recommend RMFC to couples that are already stressed enough by their circumstances to them have to deal with billing issues that could clearly be avoided.Edit- Your response to my review only serves as an exhibition of your arrogance. I worked on claims for an insurance company for several years, I know how insurance works. I went to your office specifically because it was in my insurance network. But i understand it’s easier to place the blame on me than to address the pitfalls of your billing dept. Your response reflects and unfortunate lack of empathy. I tried to work with your office But it was easier for your office to sell off the account and then blame me for outrageous prices. How pathetic. A Complete lack of customer service and basic curtesy.
There are several reviews about this clinic that are negative, and they’re well deserved. My wife and I went into this office last year and honestly looking back, they had EVERYTHING to do with us feeling so defeated. After consulting with Dr. Smith, we were told that everything was so good with our numbers that we’d have 3 chances to try IUI. So we were actually encouraged and we decided to try it. That’s where it went south. The nurse who performed the ultrasound was IN TRAINING. Dr. Smith had to guide her with everything, and she even missed several things during just the ultrasound even while she was supervised. Then, guess who did the IUI WITHOUT supervision a few weeks later? The same nurse. After that, when that one failed, we did two more. Well after the first treatment that nurse was gone (went to another place where she could do what she actually wanted to do with her career) which blew our minds!! Why in the world would you have new people performing such LIFE CHANGING procedures who don’t even want to be doing that?? Oh, and the new nurse who did the next two treatments was new at it too. So we did three rounds of IUI, which failed too. After that we were sent to the IVF nurse who during the “initial consultation” talked for an hour and 20 minutes (I have it recorded) as if we were on some exciting journey with a theme park at the end. She over talked our concerns and we barely got her to listen enough to make her realize we were self paying-she just kept on mentioning insurance. And if I had a dollar for every time she said “like” I’d have paid back my prior treatments. She was completely tone deaf to our situation. We left that day, got in our truck to leave, and with tears my wife just said she’s done with the whole thing.I sincerely believe that had we received proper treatment from competent nurses who weren’t in training, we’d probably have a 1 year old by now. We spent thousands just to be discouraged and heart broken. And to date we haven’t gotten pregnant. That whole experience took what energy was left in our battle and just totally zapped it. Take this with what it’s worth to you. There’s a very high turn over of untrained people here. Searcher beware.
I would highly recommend the Rocky Mountain Fertility Clinic. Doctor Smith and her team are the only reason my wife and I have own newly born daughter. We had been trying for nearly 6 years to have a child. We had been to another fertility clinic with no success. The other clinic could never give us any answers or recommendations and were glad to just keep letting us spend on procedures that would never work for us. Dr. Smith took one look at our records from the other clinic, and told us that everything we were doing at the previous clinic was not going to work for us and IVF was the best route for us to be able to have a child, but it was ultimately our choice how we wanted to proceed. I understand some find that frustrating because IVF is expensive and not a always an reasonable option for but like I said of at our previous clinic we wasted a lot of money and time on procedures that we never going to work. So with Dr. SMith assessment we knew to keep the procedures and go straight for IVF. It did take multiple egg retrievals and transfers but because of the result we got with out baby girl, it was worth every cent.
I went to Dr. Smith initially for fertility testing. After we received the results the consultation really pushed for IVF as if it is the only option. Many insurance companies do not cover fertility treatment. After discussing things over with my husband we decided to try an IUI.We paid upfront out of pocket for the services. After some ultrasounds it was apparent that we could not complete the cycle this course.Dr. Smith and her staff indicated that due to a conflict I should simply come back and continue the treatment the next cycle. On the day of my appointment I was told that I would have to pay for the treatment once again. The language stated that all ultrasounds were included prior to insemination. I never inseminated. There was a note staying that If I cancelled I would be charged. I didn’t cancel. She did. Per her own suggestion I should continue the next cycle. To charge me again for following her own professional advice seems unethical. Also, to take advantage of couples struggling to conceive is also extremely unethical.I also saw Dr. Smith for about a year and had 4 different nurses assigned during this short time. I. Understand why.I will be taking my service elsewhere.
I’ve had a couple miscarriages this year and the doctor I was seeing didn’t do tests or blood work to try to find out what was going on. I was told these things just happen. I switched my OBGYN and she recommended Dr. Smith. I am so happy she did. I felt like she listened to what I was hoping for, and gave me honest answers to my questions. I found the staff to be very professional and kind. With the treatment plan Dr. Smith has put together, I am very hopeful about our family future.
This is my second Fertility clinic I have been to. Dr. Smith is knowledgeable and knows what she is doing. She gets to the point and is straight forward so if that doesnt jive with your personality, go somewhere else. I personally get along better with someone like this if I feel like progress is being made.
Dr. Smith was informative, professional, and honest. She discussed options and probabilities with us, rather than using a one size fits all approach. The front desk and support team were also super friendly and helpful, and actually looked happy to see us when we entered the door. This is a VAST difference from the staff at UC Denver in all areas. I highly recommend RMFC so far.
Its been a long journey so far for my husband and I. Our experience with Rocky Mountain Fertility has been an amazing one! Dr. Smith and her team are kind, caring, patient, full of knowledge we didnt know before and will go above and beyond to help in anyway possible. Whether its the thousand questions that we have that they answer quickly or the welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you have known them for years; we feel taken care of. We highly recommend RMFC for anyones fertility journey!
Dr. Smith has been doing reproductive endocrinology a long time and really keeps up with all the new studies and research. I love that she is the one doing all the tests and procedures, unlike at CCRM where techs do almost everything. She has worked with me to make it work around my own practice and patients. You don’t feel like a number with her, she is compassionate a f her staff loves what they do and join in excitement with you.
I have not seen Dr. Smith for fertility. I spoke to her in a brief conversation about my fertility. As a science-literate person, I appreciated Dr. Smith’s candor about my dismal option to use my own eggs. She quoted literature, which I would have greatly appreciated from another local fertility doctor I spoke with (7) seven years ago, that explained why it was too late to freeze my eggs, but did not explain my options, which would have given me the opportunity to use my own eggs. At the end of the day, even science-literate people need detailed explanations of why something could or would not work when not their specialty, and I appreciated her honesty (and willingness to try anyway).
I urge you- PLEASE dont waste your time here. We had a terrible, painful experience. Unprofessional practice. Dr. Smith has poor bedside manner. She seems to lack compassion for such a sensitive matter. Unfortunately, we wasted our time and thousands of dollars at this clinic before realizing too late and this was the wrong clinic choice. Her clinical decisions are not sound, either- she nearly had me go under for sugery to remove a tumor near my ovary, initially was told it possibly malignant and thats why I should have surgery, only to take another look with another ultrasound at the last minute to decide that it was just a benign fibroid! If youre not sure, try more imaging before cutting on someone! The sad thing is, you cant afford to waste time with fertility... Unclear if another clinic would have had the same outcome for us, but well never know - its too late. Sadly, we are childless, and will remain so. One of the biggest regrets we will ever have. For what it is worth, CCRM was a far better choice as far as fertility clinics go. They were professional and treated us well. It was too late for us, but perhaps we can save someone from making the same mistake we did.
Untrained front desk staff! They took my husbands paperwork, ID, and insurance. Then when we go to drop off the sample they tell me he’s not even a patient so they can’t analyze the sample! We filled out the paperwork online! And he came in another time to give a copy of his ID and insurance card.I talked to the lady on the phone I asked all the questions I had ahead of time to make sure we did everything correctly, but was told entirely different things when dropping off the sample. It’s already very sad and heartbreaking for a couple having issues conceiving. you’d think they would be organized enough to not make it harder on couples having these issues. We left feeling more discouraged than we already did. And still have no answers. It’s very sad.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! From the very beginning it was an awful experience. Our first visit the nurse was complaining about her job. We have had our names forgotten, called other people names, been told misinformation more times that I can count. Not given the correct documents. Had to pay an additional 10,000 due to lack of information from ASHLIE the office/billing manager. Not given documents in time, not told timelines or costs. Our concerns were not heard or validated. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Very unprofessional, unorganized, inconsiderate. Worst experience of my life.
My husband and I had done our research prior to our appointment about the Invocell procedure and were highly confident about what needed to be done. After our initial consultation we left extremely confused. The head nurse was extremely rude when we were able to get a hold of her, they are very difficult to get in contact with. When I went in to have a minor surgery to remove polyps, they had not informed us that the Anesthesiologist had to be paid separately, cash only. When we called into pay the bill at the place the anesthesiologist worked for, they said it didnt exist, we made several attempts. However, RMFC continued to threaten us for non payment on a bill that didnt exist. Weve also been receiving bills for procedures that never took place once we informed them we decided to stop seeking treatment through RMFC. Horrible experience for someone that can only conceive children through an IVF procedure. Ripped off for thousands of dollars.
There are 2 listing for RMFC. Check out the OBGYN for good detailed reviews. Dr. Smith is a quack that does not care about her patients in any way. They are nothing more than another number in my experience. Had we known that she has had very little experience with oblation patients and no patient care skills we would have never stepped foot in the clinic.
Once my husband understood what we were facing with our fertility journey and a reproductive endocrinologist was suggest, I found rocky mountain fertility. My diagnosis was discouraging enough and we wanted to find a great provider to partner with through our journey. To say I was disappointed in the service level with Dr. Smith is an understatement. I was not pleased with the SELF – PAY consultation. Here are the things that I did not like.• When we walked in to her office she didn’t even stand up from her seat to greet us.• It was not about the diagnosis, it was the way in which it was presented to me (short).• She continued to interchange generic and non-generic medication names making it hard to follow what she was saying.• The treatment plan came across lackadaisical and confusing.Although Dr. Smith provided us with information we did not know before the consultation, during the visit, she seemed uninterested in our questions/ concerns.
I am so glad that I chose Rocky Mountain Fertility, Dr Smith, and her staff to help me through this infertility journey. They are informative, easy to get a hold of, and most importantly so on top of things. Since you are seen by Dr Smith at almost every appointment, she remembers you and remembers specifics of your situation. She takes the time to make sure you are all on the same page at the end of each appointment. I never leave there feeling lost or unsure of what is going to happen. Her staff is also incredible! They are on top of getting out calendars and responding to portal messages, and when going through IUI and IVF, those little things help ease the anxiety of the process. They are there for you through all the ups and downs of this process.Their new facility is gorgeous, easily accessible, and has ample parking. Not to mention they pair with acupuncturist who will come to the clinic to do acupuncture before and after the IVF transfer!
Dr. Smith, Erin and their team are incredible. I switched from CCRM to RMFC when we were ready to try for our 2nd baby using IUI. I was immediately impressed with Dr. Smith’s empathy and manner. Coming from the IVF machine of CCRM, Dr. Smith really seemed to care more about helping us have a baby than about pushing us to IVF. From my consult to my most recent Ultrasound, I have seen Dr. Smith nearly every visit and she has consistently been involved in my treatment. The difference is night and day. She also changed my protocol as CCRM had me on a lower dose of hormones than required for my age. That’s more than just a preference. With that change I got pregnant on my first IUI cycle as opposed to 4 cycles at CCRM. I had much better results with the hormone protocol and I feel confident that it was because Dr. Smith was focused on our goal of having another baby and not on putting another Maserati in the garage of her lake house. I cannot say enough about the staff or the care that I receive and I would recommend taking the time to schedule a consult with RMFC if you’re looking for a caring group of professionals.
Please do not go here! Seriously! If you are dealing with infertility, you need a kind and caring place. I’ve been there and know the emotions you are dealing with. Before going here I read some negative reviews and ignored them. I prepaid for lab work that was never used. They told me in May that they would refund the money and after multiple phone calls and going into the office in person I have still not received a refund. It’s now September! They are completely dismissive and I am beyond frustrated. You might be reading this thinking “oh the bad review might just be from some angry lady who didn’t get pregnant”, nope that is not the case. I did, naturally after being told we would never have kids without IVF. So, please do not waste your time or get your money stolen here because going through infertility is stressful enough by itself. If you decide to ignore my post Do Not Prepay For Lab Work! Best of luck in your fertility journey.
With each appointment, I feel more and more confident about our situation. She is honest, informative, and very clear about her expectations, opinions, and possible outcomes. I’ve seen many doctors with my health issues, and she is by far one of the best and most helpful I’ve seen.
If you are looking for a practice that treats you with kindness, respect, empathy and care? Run the other way. If you are looking for a practice that is organized, communicative and reliable? Run the other way. This Doctor doesnt hesitate to take your hundreds and thousands of dollars, all while refusing to even say hello to you when she walks into the exam room. She doesnt take the time to let you know whats going on, what to expect moving forward, or to really talk with you at all. One failed attempt at pregnancy after the next, and she never once said anything encouraging to me, or offered any support emotionally about what I was going through. When in dyer need of clarification after a million Nurses told me a million different things, I asked for the Doctor to call me, and was promptly informed that the Doctor doesnt call patients... thats what the Nurses are for. Thats a problem... there is just no ACTUAL care taken by this Doctor at all. There is no financial guideline given to patients so that you know what to expect. They collect your money and tell you thatll be all for the month, and then out of nowhere they say theres another random test needed. They will refuse to move forward with what you have already paid for if you dont give them more money for more testing. Shouldnt this be organized? This IS what they do day in and day out, right? It is just very obvious that this practice isnt in it for their patients, and for helping families grow. For me, the lack of organization, lack of effective communication, and lack of empathy just added stress and concern to an already difficult situation. I did my research beforehand, and wasnt able to find any honest reviews. I am sharing my experience in an effort to let other women in my situation know the honest truth of what youll be getting as a Patient with this practice. My recommendation would be to save your time, and to save your money. Go with a clinic that will be kind, organized, and easy to work with. Go with a clinic that will not take the humanity out of the experience of getting pregnant, and will treat you with the very basic decency you deserve.
Nothing but problems with Rocky Mountain Fertility Center. The unnecessary added stress they cause sure can’t be good for people trying to get pregnant. From billing to scheduling it was/is all a nightmare.
All of the staff is wonderful to work with. They are all so respectful and personable. Dr. Smith is by far the easiest person to talk to and work with. She always explains things fully and at an understanding level. She goes above and beyond to make sure all bases are covered
Dr. Smith was extremely knowledgeable and provided clear direction in the process. She also answered all our questions, and made us feel very well taken care of. Her office also provided clear recommendations for testing and donors.
All the people who work at RMFC are excellent and I can feel that they genuinely care. Throughout the process I have had many questions about my coverage and cost. Andrea in billing is excellent at navigating insurance and is always very helpful.
This was definetly my best experience after trying to conceive for almost 7 years. I start treatment about 2 year ago with my OBGYN and I felt I was losing my time. Then we where so sad because the Infertility centers we found where to expensive and didnt work with my medical insurance plan. We were already thinking on a life together whitouth having kids. Then I ask on social media and a friend tell us about Rocky Mountain Fertility Center. On the first visit they did more than my last OBGYN in 1 year. That day I had blood tests done and a plan that work with me and my PCOS. Dr. Smith know what to do and explain to us like no one did before. The staff were so nice and make us feel so valuable in any appointment. In Just 3 Months we get Pregnant and we are so thankful with God, Dr. Smith, my nurse Emily and all the staff. We are 12 weeks pregnant Expecting a baby girl for summer. Thank you!! All so so much. We cant be more happier.
Dr. Smith is very dedicated to her patients. She is always willing to answer questions and takes the time to make sure you understand your treatment or procedures. It is very evident that she cares about her patients.
I felt like nothing more then a cash cow. I paid for multiple Frozen embroy transfers and still had to pay an extra $250 just for a phone conservation with the Doctor...because she wanted to go over results with me. We did our last transfer and it was unsuccessful. Never received a phone call to see how I was doing. If you have a choice...I would look into other clinics.
Maybe they are good at what they do, cant say since Im no doctor, but they refused to work with my insurance even after telling me directly that they accept the insurance. This ended up costing me hundreds more than was necessary. Continually kept sending me new bills long after I had supposedly paid for everything - up front and in cash.Impossible to ever get anyone on the phone.Answers to billing questions... forget it.Took me months to get the results of my and wifes tests... as if a simple email or snail mail is an impossibility. They insist on using their system that doesnt apparently work.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Response to their response: 2/20/19Your explanation of the billing issue is way off the mark.1) I am fully aware of my deductible and payout responsibilities with my insurance.. That was not an issue.2) The issue was straight forward. You insisted on using a lab x.My insurance told you they prefer Lab y (but you would not use that lab).So you told me that I must pay in cash (claiming insurance wont pay).I told you that I had already spoken with my insurance and they while they prefer lab y they will still pay for lab x.I also said that I had already used lab x in the past and it was fully covered by my insurance. So I asked you to just go forward with the insurance claim (if they didnt pay Id still be responsible, you would still get your money).3) However you refused to submit the insurance paperwork when I ask you too. You demanded cash up front... I said ok, but at least submit the paperwork and then I can get reimbursed by the insurance.NO we wont do that for you. (this is wildly unprofessional on your part). So I paid out hundreds extra for lab work that was fully covered by my insurance simply because RMFC acts like selfish people instead of working for the benefit of their customers. And if that is not clear to you, just read more of the reviews on this page. This kind of behavior is mentioned multiple times.----------------------------------------------Followup 3/4/19Wow! YET ANOTHER bill from a lab received today (Six months later). When I called and asked why this one was not paid by the insurance company they told me that the insurance WOULD have paid, but the doctors office failed to get the authorization code from the insurance. So MORE money wasted that would have been totally covered by my insurance.....You are truly the worst most uncaring doctor office Ive ever dealt with.
Rocky Mountain Fertility took the humanity out of the fertility process. Admittedly, I have felt this way about other fertility clinics as well so take it with a grain of salt.Dr. Smith rushed certain procedures through which involved me going under general anesthesia without having obtained a recent sperm sample from my husband. After completing surgery, we found out he was no longer making sperm and potentially the surgery was for nothing. Rocky Mountain accepted no blame and suggested they didnt do the sperm sample ahead of time because my husband might be embarrassed. Excuse me?Eventually he started making sperm again and on our third round of IVF we finally got pregnant. At 6 weeks, we went in for the ultrasound to hear the heartbeat and instead found out we had likely miscarried a couple days before. While the needle was in my arm to do the blood test to confirm the miscarriage, a nurse ran over concerned that I was self-pay and hadnt yet paid the $55 to confirm the worst news of my life. Now each month, I get a bill in the mail for $55. After paying $41,000 I am refusing the bill for that $55. I wrote them a letter explaining that I insisted on being treated like a human being, not a checkbook. They did not respond and are still sending me that bill with an extra $4 interest each month. I will ultimately probably pay the now $63, next month $67, but I hope that this post will stop someone else from going down this path and spending $41,000 on fertility treatment only to be left empty and disappointed in humanity. Consider contacting the Adoption Exchange instead.
The majority of this critique is directed at the staff of the Rocky Mountain Fertility Center. However, since the doctor is the boss of the staff, she too is to blame for tolerating her staffs treatment of patients who are coping with fertility problems. The staff of this office have treated my wife with outright hostility over the course of several visits and repeated phone conversations. I assure you my wife is not an eccentric high maintenance individual. Quite the opposite. She is a practicing nurse and understands and is patient with medical staffs shortcomings. However, the Rocky Mountain Fertility Centers shortcomings are so vast that I must warn as many people as possible. The doctor and staff routinely gave my wife conflicting medical advise, lost track of her file and progress, were oddly unaccommodating, and cold, short, and shockingly insensitive to my wifes infertility problems. Save yourself from extreme rude behavior and awful service by not using the Rocky Mountain Fertility Center. I have never written an online review, ever. They are so bad that I am writing my first one. I am annoyed that I am even writing this. Save yourself from this frustration by not using this doctor.
Went online to request a first time appointment, got a missed call today from front desk. When I called back the receptionist was really rude and claimed they never called and couldnt find documentation of call kept putting me on hold finally I disconnected,if that the first impression given definitely will find a new place to go.
Do NOT use their sperm bank!!!! That’s all I will say.
The worst experience I have ever had in my life! They stole my money, since the first study there was an error on the part of the clinic and they asked me to do everything again and pay again, also they did not pay the exams that they had to pay in the laboratory, they are irresponsible. The worst clinic for a process as delicate and beautiful as fertility. No professionalism!
Anyone going through fertility problems knows exactly how difficult it is to hear other doctors tell you they simply cant find the problem. In 2008, I was diagnosed with a bicornuate uterus. This diagnosis was confirmed by a handful of OBGYNs after countless ultrasounds. After years of not being able to conceive, my husband and I had pretty much given up. We decided to give Dr. Smith a try, well, because it was our last hope. Within weeks of being in contact with Dr. Smith and her team, she was able to identify that I didnt have a bicornuate but instead had a septate uterus, which is completely fixable. We were so relieved, the procedure went extremely well, and we are on our way to having a baby! I cant thank their entire team enough, and have nothing but good things to say about my interactions!
I originally thought this place would be great but I was wrong. After pinching every dime they can get out of my husband and I, as well as making us feel little hope on having a baby, I am disappointed in this place. Receiving a second opinion elsewhere.
Dr. Smith is more interested in reporting good numbers than in getting people pregnant. My AMH levels were low, and I was told that I was in pre-menopause, with a 10% chance of birth with one option and a 0% chance with another option. She was brusque when she told us, annoyed that we came back to hear it from her and not her 20-something nurse (who gave the news over the phone with as much tack and compassion as a sledgehammer). I was told that 99% of her field uses AMH levels as the sure-fire indicator for healthy conception, although I had read several contradictory reports online. After seeing another doctor, who was pleasant and took lots of time with us, we have a completely other picture. AMH levels are linked to Vitamin D deficiency and are NOT a total indicator of healthy conception. We have other options that we werent even made aware of, and my General Practitioner did every blood test known to man and I am NOT in pre-menopause. If I had listened to Dr. Smith I would still be depressed, and we would have given up on having children. If youre numbers are not by-the-book, Dr. Smith has no interest in taking the risk with you.
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Smith and the nurses at RMFC. If you are looking for a great, feels like home fertility clinic then look no further! They treat you like family here! Thank you to all the staff at RMFC.
Miss diagnosed me with blocked tubes. HSG test showed it was the wrong diagnosis. They also have been promising to refund the money I paid for procedure that I did not end up having, but it has been over 6 months. I do not recommend them.
It was ok it was expensive for the services to drive way up to Parker Colorado just to get a 5 min response that I didnt expect they ask as lot of personal questions that shouldnt have been asked I felt like they were too noisy a bit the nurse was friendly though
Didn’t feel like Dr. Smith cares or can help,it felt more like let’s get as much as possible money out of your insurance. We will not go back to this doctor and can’t recommend her to any of our friends.
Dr. Smith, nurses, all staff have been so incredibly helpful and caring. I could never thank them enough for everything theyve done for our family.
The most unprofessional clinic I have dealt with. Never picking up the phone, never a follow up, they are too buzy to deal with the patient. Dont even waste your money, hope or time here. Unfortunately useless. They take your money but the service is extremely poor. Not worth it.
My wife and I went to have a 15 min initial consult and the Dr. Smith had all the answers to our questions we will go forward with this mew journey of our life, thanks a lot!
I love Dr. Smith and all the staff there. They are always so welcoming, answer all my questions and really strive to listen and help me. I’m so happy I chose RMFC
My experience with Dr. Smith’s office was very pleasant. I had an hysterectomy and the staff was so nice and accommodating.
Dr. Smith is quick yet thorough!!! Very friendly and great bed side manner
So far I have had a great experience. They are understanding of the situation we are in. I love that they explain everything to us and willing to show you so you can learn the process.
I don’t recommend this Fertility clinic.it was the worse experience I had in my life. PLEASE read the reviews before you decide to go to this clinic.
Terrible service, they stole my money from my studies. I did them once and they said that I had to repeat them because there was an error in them but I still had to pay them again, apart from that they did not pay where they sent me to do the exams. If I could not give him a single star I would not give it to him.
It was a waste of time & money with no result. Besides calling multiple times & leaving voicemail to make a follow up appointment, I haven’t heard anything from any of the staff. I’m really disappointed. I wouldn’t even give one star if I could.
I truly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a great fertility clinic. Very caring and amazing doctor and staff. I am very thankful for their care!
Definitely not the greatest place, unless your looking to pay for services you didnt receive, have staff that dont know what there doing and make it clear customer service isnt priority. But hey its a free country so do as you wish.
Quick responses to emails/questions, dr. Smith is very knowledgeable and very straightforward. I am sure I am in good hands.
Dr Smith is excellent , great experience here , I recommended my friend to go here and she also had a great experience , and we were both blessed with little girls 😀
Amazing fertility center.the doctor and nurses knows what is best for you ,I will 100%recommend them to the people who have been trying to have babies.
Dr. Smith told me that I had super sperm, which was nice to hear.
Dr Smith, Lauren, Geneva and their team are wonderful miracle workers!!!
They are kind, caring and willing to help though it all.
Made me feel comfortable and explain the procedure pretty well.
Great place
Dr. Smith is easy to talk to and incredibly knowledgeable.
Having baby boy thank you this place
Incredibly rude service.
Very clean, professional and informative.
Consult was very informative and welcoming.
Great visit
Very inconsiderate staff go elsewhere
I love coming here!
No response
Wonderful staff.
People who are only interested in money... And they have no kindness at all to serve and provide a service, they are paid what they charge and the nurses are not polite, honestly, dont be fooled
I had a very pleasant experience at this clinic, after experiencing two miscarriages, they recommended me to Dr. Deborah Smith and her team! From the beginning he explained to me what the steps were to follow and thats how we did it step by step, everything was very clear and everyone was very friendly even though there were very few staff who spoke Spanish since English is not my language. Her diagnosis worked for me and we did what the doctor told us to be able to have a healthy pregnancy, thanks to this my little miracle is almost 4 months old!!!Given my experience I highly recommend them!!!
