I had a deeply disappointing experience at this fertility clinic. Its clear that the doctors here are more interested in making money than actually helping patients get pregnant. The process felt like an assembly line rather than personalized care.Dr Wilcox only saw me when I was admitted, conducted basic fertility tests, and then prescribed medication without any follow-up visits or check-ins during the crucial period when I was injecting myself with hormones. After that, I was simply scheduled for retrieval. When the retrieval results were less than satisfactory, he recommended repeating the same protocol without any additional testing or adjustments to the medication to improve the outcome. None of the embryos were tested for viability, which is a standard practice at other clinics.Despite the clinics nice appearance, it was overcrowded with patients, a clear indication that their priority is profit over results. I would strongly advise going elsewhere for fertility treatment. This clinic does not provide the level of care and attention that is essential for such a sensitive and important journey.
One of the main reasons I chose HRC Pasadena to freeze my eggs was because of Dr. Molly Quinn. It’s very difficult to come across providers like Dr. Quinn these days. She is intelligent, approachable, professional, and genuine. I was very nervous going into this, but knew I would be in good hands the moment I met Dr. Quinn. She answered each and every one of my emails right away, and I felt cared for throughout the entire process. HRC is extremely lucky to have her. I was mainly under the care of Dr. Quinn during the process but Dr. Gig also did some of my monitoring appointments, and she also seemed really nice. I am also very grateful to have had Alondra as my coordinator. She was also great with answering emails and was just the sweetest. There was a small hiccup in the beginning with what type of consultation/appt I had come in for, but that might have been miscommunication from the main call center and the front office. The reason why I gave 4 stars was because its extremely difficult to get a hold of the financial coordinator.
Im very disappointing with this location, I had my first IUI treatment in 2023. For some circumstances, I had suspended my treatment. Now I have decided to start this year and made a first call to start my first appointment. I spoke with Griselda after getting all my information I was told they needed to reach my nurse Practitioner Tiffany Tseng (which I saw back in 2023 at their clinic). Later in the afternoon I get a call back from Griselda telling me that Im not a good candidate for IUI treatment. Honestly thats something very heartbreaking to hear when someone is trying to get pregnant. I will definitely not come back here again.
Security guard at this building is rude And confrontational, the branch where he was sent from. Doesnt want to do anything about it. The staff from this place arent that great. They dont tip well for their grubhub drivers for all the waiting from there outrageous large order well I have to make two trips to my car due to their large order smh avoid delivering here
Dr Wilcox and his team helped me with my fertility preservation. I highly recommend him and his team. One of the most important factors in selecting my doctor for me was communication, and they aced it. They (Dr. Wilcox, Teresa, Rachel, Tiffany, Cynthia and Nanette) were available when I needed them and they supported me. Tiffany is very gentle during exams and she takes time to answer all of the questions. I even asked her “do you think there are more questions that I needed to ask, but I didn’t?” And she gave me more answers to questions that I didn’t even ask. I hear from many people that the instructions for their injections and other medications are complex, I didn’t personally have any problems like that since team members patiently went over the details with me multiple time. I felt taken care of. I have already recommended this team to a family member and I recommend it to you, too.Of note, there were several staff members that were very kind on the day of the procedure. They made sure I feel relaxed and comfortable. I wish I could remember all of their names, especially the nice anesthesiologist who accommodated for restrictions on pain medications (she has a beautiful name that starts with N), and nurses Melissa and Judith.
Dr. Wilcox and his team were excellent. Nurse Nanette was especially helpful and responsive throughout this stressful journey! I was able to get pregnant after the first frozen embryo transfer. Dr. Wilcox is kind and attentive. I was very happy also that my appointments were on time with very little waiting. Unlike other medical appointments , with Dr. Wilcox you can expect to be seen at your appointment time without long waits. I really appreciated that! Also, if I ever had a concern Nanette responded very quickly. It made the process a lot less stressful. Thank you Dr. Wilcox and Nanette! Sarkis and I appreciate all your help!
Dr. Prema is a good doctor but the staff are not. They didn’t even know my name and told me to pay a copayment of $100. I had to tell them that that was not my copayment so they proceed to tell me that I didn’t have an appointment when in fact I had the text message and the email with my appointment information. Then I had to wait about 20 min to see a nurse practitioner instead of the doctor when I had some issues that I needed to discuss with her and the nurse didn’t know about my medical history. So disappointing!
I PUTTING A BAD REVIEW FIRST OF ALL THERE NO EXPLANATION FROM THE NURSE IM DISAPPOINTMENT THIS Clinic I see alot women come out crying this alot money every medication alot damn money I paid $30,000 from dream pack but Natalie she bad doctor dont recommend her at all she useless she canceled My dream pack it was wrong of not letting me know or even the nurse Josie .... dont even apologize either ..
My wife and I feel so fortunate to have worked with Dr. Nelson, Connie, and the rest of the HRC Pasadena team. From day 1, we felt very informed and prepared for our IUI procedure. We went in over a year before we wanted to start the baby trying process just to be prepared as much as possible (mentally, physically, and financially). From the first day meeting Dr. Nelson and the team, I began taking prenatal vitamins, CoQ10 and started eating healthier-ish.Our very first try was in Oct 2020 and it was successful! Im now 14 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby. In case youre curious, Im 32 years old with my first pregnancy with no known fertility issues. As an LGBTQ couple, we wanted to find a place that was very LGBTQ friendly. Most of California is friendly luckily so it wasnt too hard to find many places but we felt most comfortable here.My wife was able to hear the first heartbeat of the baby, otherwise, I did have to go it alone in the other appointments because of COVID restrictions.A couple shout outs:Connie was AMAZING and made me feel like we were family friends. The woman drawing my blood each time (Russian or Polish??) she was so sweet too.Thank you Team Nelson! We highly recommend HRC Fertility Pasadena! Well be back in a couple years for my wifes pregnancy.
HRC has become like a family to me. After struggling with infertility for four years, I made the decision to start IVF. I had a consultation with Dr. Wilcox who guided me through the IVF process and provided me with all the necessary information. He was very confident that I would get pregnant and be able to expand my family. The entire process was seamless, thanks to the amazing team of nurses at HRC, namely Nanette, Cynthia, and Rachel. They were like angels to me, always attentive and ready to answer any questions I had. They made me feel like part of their family. Now, I am pregnant with my rainbow baby, and I owe it all to the Wilcox team at HRC. I wholeheartedly recommend anyone seeking fertility treatments to visit Dr. Wilcox. I will definitely be returning to HRC to continue growing my family. Graduating from their care was bittersweet because of how much warmth and care the staff provided. Thank you for making my dreams come true!
I cant express enough gratitude for the outstanding care I received at HRC. My journey through IVF was not only successful but also filled with compassion and expertise from Dr. Kolb and the entire team. From the initial consultation to the joyful moment of a positive result, the staff at the clinic demonstrated unwavering support and professionalism. Dr. Kolb took the time to thoroughly explain each step of the process, easing any concerns and making the entire experience as smooth as possible. The personalized attention, the state-of-the-art facilities, and the genuine concern for patients well-being set this clinic apart. The nurses and administrative staff were always available to answer questions and provide encouragement, creating a supportive environment throughout the entire journey. Thanks to the exceptional care I received, I am now on the path to parenthood, and I couldnt be happier. I highly recommend HRC and Dr. Kolb to anyone seeking fertility assistance. Their dedication, expertise, and success rates truly make them a top-notch choice in reproductive medicine.Thank you, Dr. Kolb, and the entire team, for making my dream of starting a family a reality!
My wife and I began seeing Dr. Kolb and team at HRC after visiting another nearby IVF clinic and feeling the experience to be too transactional. My wife is in her mid 30s and had just recovered from surgery for severe endometriosis. In our first meeting, Dr. Kolb was warm and receptive but also transparent with regards to setting expectations. He made no guarantees and stressed that we may have to endure a long process given different health factors (specifically the efficiency at which wed be able to produce healthy embryos). Throughout the process he and his team have been great. Jian (Jane), who was our coordinator and point of contact was always very responsive and on top of things, which was comforting. There were times in which necessary medication was delayed shipping from our pharmacy, and she was able to find solutions for keeping us on schedule. We graduated from HRC this month :).
I had a good experience at this facility! This was not my first donation so I was already aware of the process, which made everything easier. The building was clean and comfortable with welcoming staff. My nurse, Rita, was always available to answer my questions, emails, and help me through the process. Dr. Kolb was always kind and considerate with me. I felt like the medical staff did what was in my best interest for my health based on my cycle. This retrieval process was probably the easiest one I have gone through. I would recommend this facility and the doctors here to anyone.
This office is the most unorganized, chaotic office I have ever stepped foot in. I was coming in almost daily due to egg donation appointments, and spent nearly 1.5-2 hours in the office at every single visit. One time, after my blood draw and ultrasound, they stuck me in an office room to wait for a nurse to bring me extra medications for the cycle. I waited 45 mins in that room until I ultimately left on my own. Everyone in there seems to have absolutly no idea what they are doing, and my doctor, Dr. Wilcox, barely spoke 2 words to me at each visit. Unfortunately, because I am a donor, I did not have the option to choose which location to go to. I cannot speak for the other locations of HRC, but I would avoid this office at all costs.
My egg freezing process seemed a little disorganized and impersonal. The Dr assigned to me wasn’t there during my initial consultation and I only met them towards the end of my process when I was closer to my retrieval. The interactions I had with my Dr. seemed very impersonal and rushed (didn’t really explain progress) and post retrieval they called a wrong number and instead emailed me my results. It was only after several email exchanges where they offered a phone call since I had so many questions. Throughout the injection process the process of getting my medicine was disorganized. At the beginning of the process I was told my medication would be delivered but I had to ask about my medication each time I went in because it never got ordered and they weren’t tracking what they had given me vs what I got each visit which was surprising. Overall I was expecting a better experience relating to logistics with my medication and interactions with my Dr.- I understand different facilities have their own process but this faculty seemed more interested in rushing through patients and not investing in the interpersonal interactions with patients.
I am on my second surrogacy journey and this is my IPs clinic. If it was up to me, I would have switched clinics. Anytime we had an issue or problem come up, my coordinator gives text book answers without actually consulting with the doctor. I have, on multiple occasions, had to be the one on top of making sure my lab orders are sent for outside monitoring as they sometimes dont send them when they say they will. They have gotten dates mixed up for lab orders (we are human, it happens) but then called me to shame me for missing an appointment even tho the orders I had been given directly from them, had a different date on them. Never an apology, I was just treated as the stupid surrogate who they clearly didnt have any respect or appreciation for. Fertility issues are hard enough to navigate and you deserve to work with a clinic who cares for each individual and your specific case. Unfortunately, even tho the Drs seem to be great at what they do, the staff make the whole experience 10x more stressful and emotionally exhausting than it should be.
I was a patient with HRC only last year and now am needing my medical records from my treatment with them. I have been trying to get a hold of these records since the end of March. They have completely given me the run around and now heading into July I have still not received my medical records. I have called emailed, I have had my case managers call, email, fax these request numerous times and still no response. When I call they say they are putting in an urgent request and I receive nothing. When we last spoke to a woman named Cheryl she guaranteed she would have those records to us by Monday and still nothing and that was a month ago. I am so frustrated at this point. I would highly advise anyone seeking treatment from them whether it be as a surrogate or as intended parents or anyone that has their embryos with this medical center to think twice. They are holding out on others medical records as well and preventing families from starting their fertility journeys to have children. At this point I have to take to all review sites to explain my experience, because at this point I am not getting any help from them to simply get my medical records from my short time with this center. And again I have been trying to get them for going on 4 months now!
My experience at this facility was awful. Everytime I had a question for my docter or coordinator Id get textbook answers. Or get the runaround to wait a week to ask my docter. Ive been at this facility for over 2 years . They told me I just needed a doner and I should get pregnant without any complications, but they dont give any1 a garentee that you will have a successful pregnancy. I really wish he wouldve just been able to tell me he couldnt treat my case instead of making me waste my time and money. Im over 50k in debt . They are way overpriced and do not explain that you pay even more after your first miscarriage or failed transfer. Ive had 2 miscarriages from here and the only time they called me was to try and charge me extra for unesesary appointments and ultrasounds for a heart beat that was too soon to check for. If considering please be aware of what your getting into .
I worked with Dr. Kolb and my clinical coordinator was Clarissa Tam. I was really happy with my care! Clarissa is organized and a pleasure to work with. Dr. Kolb is knowledgeable and made me feel confident in the treatment options we chose. I highly recommend them if you are looking for assistance on your journey to having babies.
At the age of 40, I embarked on the journey of creating embryos for the first time. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Llarena and her proficient team, the process was not only professional but also remarkably successful, resulting in the creation of a healthy embryo on the initial attempt. Dr. Llarena, along with her coordinator Josephine, diligently monitored my blood work and ultrasound results, fine-tuning the medication to optimize the chances of a favorable outcome. Their expertise and attentive care made the entire procedure remarkably easy and seamless for me. I express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Llarena and her dedicated team for their invaluable assistance in creating a healthy and high-quality embryo.
I came to HRC in 2015 and decided to try to have a baby no matter what our odds were. Dr. Wilcox is absolutely the best. He explained in detail, he was available after hours if I needed him. We succeeded the first try and had our son October 2016. He is now 6 years old and the cuties most wonderful kid ever. We love him more than anything in this world. Thank you Dr Wilcox for being their through our journey. 🫶🏼
I do not recommend HRC under any circumstances. I had treatment at their West LA and Encino locations and because Pasadena is where their corporate office is, I had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with the Pasadena office as well. Nobody could answer my questions clearly (when they bothered to respond at all, which took an enormous amount of work on my part) and requests for clarity were ignored--like I said before, when they bothered to even follow-up, which was rare, their responses were merely condescending rehashes of previous emails--none of which made sense to me. It was an incredibly frustrating experience. And also--the Pasadena office is in the news as someone is suing them for what seems to be an unfathomable mistake. Google the headline Pasadena fertility clinic sued over embryo mix-up in which child born with deadly cancer gene --thats the title of the KTLA article, and, as you could gauge from the headline, its a frightening situation. Im so glad I ended up switching to another clinic as I wouldnt trust HRC to do anything right, especially since this is NOT the first time in the past year HRC has been in the news for an embryo mix-up (Google HRC embryo mix-up and see stories from Summer 2022 involving a two-man couple.) Sadly, based on the way every single employee Ive encountered at HRC functions (or, doesnt function might be more accurate...) this news doesnt surprise me in the least.
Absolutely the best fertility clinic out there. Making a difference for everyone. They helped my daughter with an Embryo transfer. ♥️🥰♥️
My husband and I were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. We’ve tried naturally for about a year and a half without any success. We did 5 rounds of IUI’s with Kaiser, but that was also failed attempts. Soon after we decided to do IVF as I was switching insurance. At first we went to Fertility Care of Orange County, but the service was absolutely horrible there. We did our research for a different Dr. and stumpled upon HRC with Dr. Kolb. We came in for a consultation and was so impressed by Dr. Kolb. The service received at HRC compared to Fertility Care of Orange County was like night and day. Dr. Kolb is so compassionate and he explained the process to us. We knew right away thay he would be the one to make our dreams of be coming parents come true. Thanks to Dr. Kolb, I now have 2 lovely beautiful, twin girls. Today, they are both 10 days old. Dr. Kolb, Natalie, and the team are absolutely amazing. I can not express how grateful I am for them. I highly recommend Dr. Kolb for IVF. It is worth every penny!Thank you HRC for all that you’ve done for my family!!!
Had an absolutely amazing experience! At every single one of my appointment, everyone was nice and attentive. Dr. Kolb is a great doctor. Clarissa and Marta are genuinely so sweet and anyone is lucky to work with them.
While we appreciate the services provided by our doctor and nurse team at HRC, we must express our deep frustration in our interactions with other departments. The lack of effective communication, coupled with instances of misunderstanding our questions and requests, has resulted in unnecessary delays in the process.
Dr. Wilcox is the best doctor ever!!! Thanks to him and his team, we have a beautiful little girl. I am especially grateful because we only had the one frozen embryo and the transfer was a success! We couldnt be happier!!! Thanks to all the HRC staff and thanks again Dr. Wilcox!!!
Completely unprofessional from start to finish. Consistently dropped the ball with following up in regards to lab results, responding to emails/phone calls, and insurance prior authorizations. Staff is kind, but get the impression they are incredibly overworked and this is a fertility mill. High turnover with staff. Hard to talk to anyone directly. There is no patient care/personalization. Wasted a significant amount of time with this company. Decided to go with another specialist before starting treatment and wished we had made that decision earlier before giving them multiple chances to turn things around. Major disappointment. Do not recommend.
The staff is nice, so is the clinic (elegant and charming). But I wish there was more communication before starting the treatment plan, and they HAVE TO INFORM verbally each of their patients about possible risks, fertility medications/ treatments side effects, increased birth defects etc. Unfortunately, I had to terminate my VERY EXPECTED PREGNANCY because of above mentioned factors. If I knew about these potential risks from the beginning I would not start the treatment. I and my family are going through a very difficult time and it is so hard to recover emotionally.
Can’t thank Dr. Kolb and his lovely nurse Rita enough for our baby boy coming April! They helped my fiancé and I start our family with what felt like ease and direct intention. No excess meds, no over thinking , keeping it simple and to the point. We were really able to rely of our nurse Rita to be there anytime with any emergency questions we had & keeping us on our schedule. Everyone’s journey starting a family is different but we would go back to Dr.Kolb and his team in a heartbeat.
Dr Wilcox ignored my charts and age and over prescribed me medications, when I got brought in for hyper stimulation he said “this is the worst case I’ve seen in ten years, I probably could’ve done less since you’re young” and then walked out. I had to use a wheelchair and was sick for a week. Only really talked to him twice was passed around to different nurses. My sister in law was egg freezing at the same time and had a much better experience at every step. Now I keep getting bills from them even though I’ve paid everything so it’s confusing and is continuing the terrible experience. Please go elsewhere it’s too painful to be out for a week when it should’ve been a single day.
Dr.Wilcox did my IVF 17YRS. ago, and yes my baby girl is just as healthy as can be. And soon shes turning 18!. Miracles do happen if you believe in Him. I thank the Lord for using him to make this happen. Thank you ,Dr. Wilcox.
Dr. Kolb and his team member, Nancy, were amazing!I came to HRC Pasadena for IVF between Dec20 - May21.Before I became pregnant, I was worried if I could be someones mom.Nancy was always supportive and caring of me.Her email responses were so quick and nice, so I could feel relieved and trust her. After my 1st egg retrieval, I got pregnant naturally. My baby will be delivered in 3 more months.(On that cycle that I got pregnant, I also went to acupuncture that they refer to me. It helped a lot as well.)Even when I got pregnant naturally, they were blessing me.I highly recommend Dr. Kolb and his team!Thank you so much for your help.
This was our first time going through IVF, and we were nervous and skeptical at the beginning. But we trusted Dr. Kolb, Nancy, and the rest of team at HRC to help us. It turns out that we had nothing to worry about. We were actually surprised by how smoothly everything went. We appreciated that Dr. Kolb was present at every single one of our appointments. And Nancy was always available by email/phone, even on weekends, to answer any questions we had. The more questions we asked, the more comfortable we felt, and Dr. Kolb and Nancy did a great job answering all our questions quickly and clearly. We always felt well informed and prepared each step of the way. Now we are pregnant and would like to thank Dr. Kolb, Nancy, and everyone at HRC for taking good care of us.
I went to HRC for egg retrieved in the end of 2018. I am 26 years old , for my case it should be very easy for me to do the procedure. I had 18 mature eggs and some small one after the medications, so the number was pretty good. On the day of the surgery , something went wrong , the doctor could not explain to me why from 18 eggs and he only got 5 eggs and all other eggs were flowed away. I asked for the medical record but until today, I did not receive everything. If you want a baby try other hospital, this is not a one you should risk your money with . This is a business not hospital, their poor management is horrible!!!! While I was in the process of doing the egg retrieve , the nurse forgot to gave me my medicine , and I live 60 miles away from the fertility, the nurse ask me drive back all the way with traffic to get the medicine, and she said is not her responsibility...... This fertility, if they did anything wrong, they will blame you that are the one has the issue. I am not the first one who had very bad experiences here, I had couple friends all had bad experience here!! we paid money and did not get what we want!!!!!! Compare to other fertility , maybe HRC is cheaper but the service and skills is not really good, rather go some where with higher price and better service than stuck here do it multiple times!
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE! I had a TERRIBLE experience! I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The average wait time is approximately 40 minutes even with an appointment. I dont always see anyone waiting in the lobby, but you still have to wait. Its because they don’t have a doctor there. They once put me in an exam room and left me there for an hour. They later informed me that the doctor was on her way. They have no respect for your time whatsoever. They want me to do the egg retrieval at 6 a.m and I told them that I live 2hr away. They said there was nothing they could do. I had to get up at 4 am and drive to Pasadena. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Their Newport Beach location is even worse. The nurses are cold and rude. I wish I never came to this place.
I had such a great experience with Dr. Kolb and his team. I was doing an egg donation for friends and his team went above and beyond. I live on the east coast and they made sure I was taken care of with appointments etc. When I got to California Kristy came to my room each night to give me the shots ( Im very afraid of needles ) When I needed something Kristy was always made herself available to me. Dr Kolb was at every appointment when I was there and talked me through what was going on. Thank you guys so much for making this such a great experience.
As of now, Ive only gone through the initial bloodwork step. The clinic lost half of my blood labs due to a glitch where the blood did not get sent to the lab. I now have to go back in to get them re-taken when my next cycle comes. I will be out of state then for the holidays, and they suggested I should get them done then, out-of-state, while on vacation. Im upset that Im the one having to jump through hoops to correct their mistake, but I suppose theres no other way around it. I also was the one who had to reach out for the results weeks after they had been done, which is when they let me know of the glitch. I asked how do I know this isnt going to happen again, and they didnt have an answer. Im not sure if they would have let me know without me reaching out. I will likely be going elsewhere once the bloodwork is completed. This is my first experience going to a fertility doctor, and though their staff seem nice enough, I feel like I am working too hard to get replies/results when this process is already disheartening and intrusive to begin with.
I was nervous and anxious prior to my consultation. My initial stress was eased by honest assessments as to my chances of getting pregnant before, during and after egg retrieval. The staff gave me simple and sensible recommendations to help me through each step in the process. At the office, the receptionists and phlebotomists were friendly and cheerful, which made the early hour appointments fun and something I looked forward to. My case manager was a cheerleader and source of information from start to finish. We were able to get to work on time thanks 7am appointments, which were efficient. The prices for IVF cycles are fixed and clearly communicated upfront. A financial advisor helped us understand the funding process on the day of the initial consultation. The billing department was easy to work with, and answered all our questions in a timely manner when necessary. The embryo transfer was a success and we have been well taken care of throughout our early pregnancy. Dr. Kolb was my physician at every step along the way, and he was the best doctor I could have hoped for. I would recommend HRC Pasadena to anyone who is ready to undergo IVF to grow their family.
Jeez! What can I say to relay exactly how I feel for HRC and all its staff.... I am not a review writer but this one is well deserved. I am a woman in a same sex relationship, I have gone to HRC for two IVF treatments, with two successful pregnancies, all thanks to Dr. Kolb, his amazing staff and God of course. Dr. Kolb is such a kind and attentive doctor, I always felt that he cared about my well being and never did I feel that it was just about the money. I truly believe that Dr. Kolb cares about his patients and believes in what he does. I want to give my nurse a very special shout out as well Cynthia Cruz she was by far the best nurse I have ever had in my life.. She always returned phone calls and emails promptly, she answered all my questions, put my mind at ease when i was panicked or scared and just all around thoughtful, personable and genuine. I would like to add that i believe HRC truly supports our LGBTQ community.
I have a couple of hang-ups about my experience that left me unsatisfied with my care. I definitely didnt love the direction my dr went with my infertility, blaming my inability to get pregnant on my weight constantly throughout our consult even though I am not overweight. She really wanted to push Ivf without trying anything else first and I wasnt ready to go that drastic at the beginning of my fertility journey. There was some other things, but I ended my care with them ultimately and found a different specialist.NOW. My major hang up is the bill we received to pay for the testing of COVID antibodies in my husbands blood work. We did not ask them to do this. We were not informed they would be doing this. It has nothing to do with my husbands fertility and should not have been done without our permission and now we have to pay $ for it out of pocket. Weve tried calling countless times to dispute this just to either be told someone would call us back (they never do) or to be ignored completely. Very unhappy about this.
Everyone is always nice, place is very clean, an pretty. Dr.kolb is really awesome! He is kind, and has done three transfers for me. Always professional!
1-star. If I could rate lower, I would. Very dissatisfied with the level of patient care at this facility. Kristy Shelden, MA lacks compassion and professionalism. Mayra Camacho appears kind in person, but shrugged off my concerns about medications and told me to, just take it. I saw Dr. Kolb 3-4 times in one week for routine transvaginal ultrasounds. Each visit he shook my hand and asked the same questions, where I was from, if I had donated before, and if I had complications in previous cycles even though I had just seen him a day prior. My care was not communicated to me through out this process. Never once did Dr. Kolb tell me how many eggs my body produced and how many were retrieved (45). I had severe hyperstimulation and had to seek emergency services. I communicated that I wasnt feeling well in the days following the procedure. The office said not to worry and I was fine. I had fluid build up in my abdomen and behind my liver. My ovaries were also triple the size of a normal ovary and my monitoring clinic was much more concerned about me potentially losing blood supply and the ovaries twisting. Dr. Kolb failed to reach out to me despite his knowledge of my hyperstimulation, although in the earlier chapters I told him my body reacts really well to hormones and I had a minor hyperstimulation previously. Somehow he thought it would be okay to have me on a higher hormone dose. My body produced double the number of eggs than my previous cycle. I trusted he knew what he was doing. All in all, poor experience with this fertility clinic. Even more so with Dr. Kolb and his care-team. If you are prepared to be treated like a number instead of a person this clinic is a perfect fit. I recommend going elsewhere or selecting a different doctor/ provider. 1-star review.
No complaints. The phlebotomists were fast and the blood draws were painless and smooth. Dr. Kolb and other Doctors were very nice and informative. Nurse Leona was amazing all around, always keeping me up to date and informed of next steps.
I always want to have a baby boy. With the help of Doctor Kolb and Jane, I successfully had my son, and I succeeded the first time.Thank you Doctor Kolb, you made my dreams come true.Thank you Jane, you help and comfort me when I felt nervous.
The moment I walked in HRC I fell in love. The waiting room was so elegant and warm. Great energy and customer service! I was nervous but Dr.kolb made me feel comfortable with my ultrasound. Thank you guys for being amazing. ♥️
Im a surrogate, and for both of my journeys I have gone to HRC Pasadena and Rancho Cucamonga (for monitioring) I was always seen by my appointment time and never waited long. My nurse in one journey was Janice and Joyce and my latest journey was Tiffany. All the nurses were extremely sweet. Getting back to my emails quickly and answering all questions. Dr.wilcox preformed my transfer which was successful. Im now 11 weeks pregnant with my surro babe.
I have done it before. They are very polite, but their working method is not good. They did it without a good physical examination. The nurse said that the quality of my eggs was not good. If I improved, she said that there was no improvement. She directly asked me to donate eggs. It was irresponsible, so I was very disappointed with this hospital!
While the Dr himself was professional and kind, the staff is completely incompetent. I have to follow up multiple times to get clear answers. Before transfer I had not even received pre-surgery procedures, I got them after the service. I had originally contacted them to complete the process of spinning, it wasnt until after I had had the initial procedure and paid in full that they told me this procedure was outdated and did not offer high enough percentage of positive results (at 75% definitive). The results with their process ended up at 25% which was much, much worse. Every appt with my OB requires a call to them to request the paperwork, I receive directives to make appts after I have already seen the OB which then requires me to try to change everything. This is utterly ridiculous and I am extremely frustrated with my experience.
Its all because of HRC team and Dr. Norian, that I am pregnant today. We tried other doctors and fertility clinic before, but it was never a success. When we started the treatment with HRC and Dr. Norian, we just cant believe that it was successful in the very first attempt. Dr. Norian is the best and also the all HRC team. They all were quite prompt to any urgency and were very concerned always. We are very much thankful to them! :)
Went through egg retrieval, embryo creation, transfer with surrogate and through to pregnancy and birth. There were definitely some hiccups along the way, but Ive learned to expect the unexpected with fertility treatments and procedures. Dr. Kolb was more than caring and professional in his work. I would highly recommend! Just remember to keep expectations with regards to results in check... I thought I would have way more speed bumps than what actually occurred. Baby is going to be born in just a few short weeks!
Im a patient of Dr. Kolb and I was successful the 1st try! He is a WONDERFUL physician and was informative and pleasant the entire journey. I have twin newborns thanks to this man! I also have 6 embryos in the freezer. Dr Kolb is the best physician to guide u through this emotional journey.
I have worked with this clinic twice, I am a surrogate. Dr. Nelson is amazing both times my embryo transfer was successful on the first time, my ivf coordinator joleen was always very informative the Entire journey until I was able to go to my OB,
Horrible experience with Dr. Kolb and HRC. After I “fired” HRC, I started to work with a different IVF center, and what a dramatic difference in results! If I continued with HRC, I would probably end up with no babies and deep in financial ruins.I became Dr. Kolbs patient as a 37-year old healthy woman. My husband and I had no heath or genetic issues, which HRCs tests confirmed. There is no family history of infertility (in fact, the evidence of the opposite, extreme fertility with pregnancies occurring on birth control, exists). The reason I decided to go with IVF was to be in control of the timing.Months later after starting IVF at HRC, I felt emotionally, physically and financially ($32,100 expense; zero results) abused like I never felt and hopefully will never feel again. But I never doubted that I would have a baby, even though it seemed like HRC (i.e., Dr. Kolb and Elisa Ramos, manager) tried to instill the idea that IVF failures had nothing to do with their incompetence and negligence but were entirely stemming from my physical inability (which proved to be inaccurate later at a different IVF center).I had 2 IVF cycles with Dr. Kolb:1st IVF Cycle. Only 1 mature egg retrieved (proved to be unusable for transfer/PGS abnormal). This was an absolutely pitiful IVF outcome - I can produce a mature egg naturally every month without spending thousands of dollars on hormones and doctors. The whole point of taking hormones is to amplify what nature already does for us, and HRC/Dr. Kolb seem unaware of these basics. I communicated to Dr. Kolb that the result of his work was unacceptable, and he promised to fine-tune the protocol for the 2nd IVF cycle.2nd IVF cycle. Under Dr. Kolb’s “improved protocol,” the number of mature eggs retrieved this time was… zero. This was so ridiculous that it made me laugh when I got a text from HRC on Saturday. On Monday, HRC called - we made a mistake, we did retrieve 2 potentially mature eggs. On Wednesday HRC retracted their Monday statement, finally concluding that they retrieved 0 (zero) mature eggs. None of the aforementioned significant communications were delivered by Dr. Kolb. During the 2nd cycle, Dr. Kolb failed to properly leverage even what nature already kindly offers readily-available.I realized something was wrong with HRC and switched to a different IVF center (Dr. Kuos IVF Fertility Center, also in Pasadena), at which I only had to go through/pay for one IVF cycle to finally experience absolutely amazing results (5 mature eggs retrieved in just one cycle, 2 survived to solid blastocyst stage with normal PGS results). Based on the knowledge I accumulated thanks to my experiences at the terrible center (HRC Pasadena and Dr. Kolb) and at the excellent one (Dr. Kuos IVF Fertility Center), below are my observations on why IVF cycles at HRC failed:1. HRC miscalculated timing of retrieval (major driver of IVF success vs failure). As part of IVF cycle, a patient receives an exorbitant amount of hormones to allow multiple eggs to grow quickly. The growth of eggs must be monitored carefully (ultra-sound checks) to properly calculate the timing of egg retrieval. Miscalculation by one day can result in the dying of matured eggs (if retrieval date is set too late) or in retrieval of immature eggs that wont fertilize or survive. Both of my retrieval dates were set too late.2. Ultra-sound appointments rarely performed by Dr. Kolb.Although he did perform some checks, Dr. Kolb heavily relied on the assistance of his.... junior doctor(?) to perform my ultra-sounds. I forgot what his face looked like during my 2nd cycle. The importance of ultra-sound checks is immense: they allow to (i) adjust the dosage of hormones and (ii) set proper timing for retrieval. Dr. Kolbs assistant was the one who set my retrieval date (with disastrous outcome).3. Dosage of hormones was not adjusted.Dr. Kolb does not take time to examine the growth of follicles during an approx. 10-day hormone injection period, therefore does not adjust the dosage of hormones.
Before we partake and thought of doing IVF, my wife and I were having trouble of getting pregnant, we tried medications, relaxation techniques, etc...Then we decided to consult with gynecologist and urologist to see whats the problem is...Then we found out that the best possibility of conceiving is to go through IVF. I had to go through TESE to retrieve my sperm (performed by Dr. Werthman- Great doctor). The first consultation with them, we were scared but hopeful. Then next thing you know it was a successful IVF and we have a healthy 2 year old baby name Ava. Then we thought of having a baby again and went through with them again and the second one was unsuccessful (we used the frozen embryo)...but we didnt give up and thought of doing the process again that we did on the first one...now, my wife is 18 weeks pregnant and we are having a boy. :D We are thankful to God that HRC is there to help us go through this process. Godbless this facility and the people who work there. special thanks to Teresa, Rachel, Tifanny (NP), Wanda (financial), Cynthia, and Nanette.
I couldnt have been more pleased with the services provided by Dr. Kolb, our NP, Catty and team. It was was our first time and the team walked us through everything from scheduling to our onsite visit and provided our results quicker than anticipated. I would highly recommend Dr. Kolb if you are seeking any fertility related assistance.
I like most of the nurses and the environment, but sometimes the wait is ridiculous. Im here right now for an appointment. My appointment time was an hour ago and they still havent called me for my visit. I arrived 15 minutes early too. They also do not allow children so this is extra time and money I have to spend to be away from my child. I wish they would at least adhere to appointment times.
Its only because of Dr. Kolb and his fantastic team that I am pregnant today. My embryo transfer was successful the very first time!! A huge shout out to Dr. Kolb and his team. They make your dreams come true.
This is the worst fertility clinic ever. There are lots of other fertility clinics to explore. Go to one that offers alternative reproductive health care like acupuncture and nutritional guide for sperm and egg health. Leading fertility clinics have relationships with alternative care NOT HRC. Just a bunch of old white MALE doctors who only care about the bottom line. Terrible communications skills, unorganized billing and financial dept. No one communicates with anyone here maybe because they only care about the cash paying foreign patients trying to have their babies in the US. I wish I can shout it out to every roof top to warn other women and or families to stay away from this place!
Dr.Kolb and his team are amazing.i cant even explain how passionate and dedicated Dr Kolb and Mayra, the nurse were during the 6 months that I worked with them.i would like to give them 10 star.Mayra always picked up the phone even after working hours and answered all my questions patiently. Dr.Kolv is extremely knowledgeable ,nice and sweet.
I had scheduled a lab appointment a month in advance and I go in only to be told I couldnt be seen for some unknown reason; with no warning or reschedule call beforehand. They then said they would contact me back for a make up appointment. Still have not heard back from them. Unorganized and unprofessional.
This is my 2nd surrogacy with Dr. Wilcox. He is honest, kind, professional. Both embryo transfers were a once and done (with PGS testing). Hes amazing and if I decide to have another journey, Ill insist to be matched with IPs of HRC ♡♡♡♡♡
The wait time was really long. I am a surrogate. But Dr. Kolb and Claudia the nurse that help us were amazing. Always answered any question I had and got back to me in a timely manner.
The doctors are nice but the nurses are so rude and wont make eye contact with you.they will role their eyes when you have a question. I dont understand why they will work in this field if they have people skills. Im looking to go somewhere else now.
Consistently difficult to get a hold of, and over multiple appointments I havent met one staff member that seemed to be polite or helpful. I hate that there are not other options in my area
Really nice and professional staff all of them! Very well educated staff and made you feel right at home, it was my first visit but I’ll definitely use them if we decided to go with IVF.
Terrible clinic although doctor was alright. The overal service is bad. no introduction. They dont communicate. especially most of the chinese nurses are horrible. i have no words for it.Pity they only care to get your easy money.
Awful service and very stuck up staff surprised it’s still open. This establishment is also very homophobic ! Call them doctors without humanity!
With the amount of mix ups and glitches Im wondering if they are stealing our eggs/embryos or even transferring the correct embryos to the correct parents to be!
The best clinic nurses very kind very prefesionals the DR Wilcox the best my first transfer it was exit 🥰🥰
HRC was fantastic and we wouldn’t have our daughter without them.
I love the staff. Im a surrogate and they make you feel comfortable and they are all so nice.
Both experiences here were great, staff, drs etc, even the bathroom was clean, always had great coffee.
We were so annoyed by the bad tone of the financial cashier at this clinic. Very poor attitude, no smile
Not into giving birth for other people. But I hear it pays well. They have a starbucks coffee machine.
Hello Everyone,Is there anyone who is of age 40 or above that has had a positive IVF with HRC?
Had successful IVF baby in 2017
The staff is really impolite in here
Ran by a Chinese coal company kind of sus
Worst place to opt for fertility services.
Very bad experience!!!
The financial department is unorganized and no coordination at all! They processed my payment without making a single note and keep saying I didnt make payment! This was seriously delayed my transfer process! And there is no explanation and apologies at all! It was so speechless. After I paid for a long time, they told me that I had not paid the balance, so they never made an appointment for a transplant surgery for me! There was no communication at all among their internal staff, not even a single explanation.
We have a beautiful child, 2 and a half years old thanks to this team. We did it through surrogacy. Very attentive, they responded to each and every question and when there was a problem, they gave us options to choose from. Some great professionals: dr. Kolb, Kristy and Mayra.
The experience was very good. Both of my children were treated at this clinic.
Extremely poor technique and anxious to get patients started. If it fails once, I will ask the 32-year-old me to donate eggs.
A clinic with mixed intermediaries, only caring about financial interests, no professionalism and service, and chaotic internal management
