Finding a new provider can take forever nowadays. Prism health is worth waiting for. All staff are so professional and kind. The work they do here is excellent. All providers I have seen are very patient, effective and efficient… (especially filling medications). Overall, all staff do an amazing job with taking care of their patients here.
The best clinic I’ve ever been to. Everyone is so nice and seems like they genuinely care about me and my health. They have helped significantly for my mental health (and physical health ofc). I have multiple disorders including MDD, GAD, ADHD, and suspected autism. They listen to my concerns, accept and allow my accommodations, and allow me to have an advocate present. And since they are an LGBTQ+ clinic they’re very open to learning, understanding, and getting what you need that would help your identity. Definitely recommend (especially Dr. Wiser)!
Loved prism up until the last two years. I do not feel my concerns are heard or listened to by my PCP at prism. My appointments have felt rushed and my concerns were not addressed. One example of this is a bump I have had on my nose for almost 8 years. My doctor asked me multiple times if it had been there a few months and I had to keep correcting him to the point where it felt like he was insinuating I was lying or do not know my own body. Long story short I was prescribed acne medication that dried out my skin and the bump is still here. The person who faxes referrals caused multiple month delays in my surgery because they refused to resend my letter of support when my OHSU surgeon asked them to. After a long back and forth that felt very patronizing I took screen shots of my letter in my chart and messaged them to the surgery team at OHSU. My consult was in the early spring and I was projected to get surgery in the fall but due to my letter of support from prism not being received and me being told by prism to be patient surgery was delayed six months causing my next surgeries to also be delayed which is frustrating because I am turning 26 next month meaning my insurance is changing. This caused OHP issues because I changed my CCO to be covered by OHSU. One person told me I am no longer in network and must fill out a sliding scale application for every appointment. Another person told me I’d need to fill it out once a year.
Ummm why TF DO THEY NOT HAVE ANY OPENINGS FOR NEW PATIENTS??? Like youre supposed to be the best of the best in regards to our trans community but yet you cant take everyone but a select few once per month. So that trans person has to go months without getting the best care for them because you close your new patient wait list. Complete utter nonsense.. Not to mention if you accidentally miss your chance to be added to a new patient wait list you have to wait another month just to look /call at the right time just to make sure you are added.
Prism has been life-changing for me. The care I receive from this group has been deeply useful during my transition. They aren’t perfect as they’re working within a flawed system. But they show up to serve our community every day and they do an amazing job. It can be a challenge to get started with them, as their waitlist can be a bit long. This is a sign of their curse of success. Over my few years with them I have seen them expand services as quickly as they can. Be patient with them and they will do everything they can for you.
Came here today to set up my primary care. I can definitely tell that ALL are welcome at this clinic, and I felt very comfortable :) The staff was friendly and compassionate. My physician asked thoughtful questions that considered all aspects of my lifestyle. Im looking forward to continued visits to Prism!
This is easily the best primary care practice I have ever had a relationship with. Their communication is excellent, and they have extremely good practices around consent, communicating costs, harm reduction, and nonjudgemental support. I feel seen and well cared for by each and every person I interact with who works here!
I think your experience with Prism depends heavily on what type of care you are seeking. My review will be for general medicine. I chose Prism because they took my health insurance and I wanted to support my community.I will edit once I can finally sever my relationship.
Super nice clinic with great care for patients, all staff is extremely caring and helpful with any issues you come in with. Only reason I put 4 stars is because since this is a smaller office, high wait times for work to get done. Typically have to wait a couple hours to get prescriptions refilled since this is the closest queer clinic to me and only so many people are here to run labs or fill scripts. Definitely worth the visit, just make sure to have at least 3 hours open to get everything you need to get done finished.
I have received such kind and affirming care at Prism, with my primary care providers being Connie and Maeve. Theirs is an intentionally compassionate and client centered approach to care. My visits with them have never felt rushed - and I have felt heard (as well as well informed). I have also experienced Prism waive an overdue fee on my end because I could not afford it (it was a large amount). This went to my heart as it was so helpful at such a difficult time. This showed me the care and centering of the community the clinic focuses on. To fellow members of the Queer community, and as a fellow healing professional here, I recommend Prism very fully and confidently. Always communicate your needs (and prior experiences) with your providers so they can make amends and adjustments accordingly.
Ive had a fantastic experience with Maeve! Shes extremely kind, compassionate, and has taken all my concerns seriously. I am actually starting to see some improvements in my physical and mental health under her care! She respects my autonomy, follows my lead, and offers thorough suggestions. Medical assistants, pharmacists, phlebotomist and front desk staff have also all been fantastic.Ive been coming here since 2018 and there was a gap in my care after Mandy left but Im happy to say things have resumed and are even better than before!I have OHP and all my care + referrals have been covered. Cant speak to experiences with other insurance.
Let me start by saying that I am not an easy patient and I am aware of that. I have to say I truly like Prism Health and my PCP. Ive seen several of the medical practitioners here and all are great. I appreciate that my PCP (Dr. Sokoloff) is professional, calm, and practices evidence based medicine. I went through some health issues and was convinced I needed surgery and luckily I did not. Before I changed medical insurance I made sure my doctor was accepted by the plan. The peeps that work here are friendly, respectful and great at what they do. The office is super clean. The MAs rock at giving vaccines (didnt even feel my last 2 vaccines here!) The phlebotomist is a complete ROCK star and always finds a vein and Im not an easy blood draw. Overall A+ and so grateful I found this place. Thanks Prism!
I love this clinic! All the doctors are extremely kind and there is great communication between all the staff. This is a very inclusive space and I recommended all of my LGBT start here. The main room in calm and quiet and I find it easy to talk with my doctor. They really care about all inclusive health here. Never before has a Doctor asked me if I wear a helmet while riding my bike!I can tell everyone here really cares about my health.
Validating the negative reviews below. Something must have shifted at Prism in the past few years. I’m trans and have had a more stressful experience at Prism than any other primary care clinic. I would not recommend Prism to a friend. I’d actually urge gender non-conforming folks to seek care elsewhere.Agree with others’ experience, front desk staff are cold and carelessly misgender you. The coordination between front desk and clinical team is a mess. When they needed a urine sample I was asked to go wait in the front then the nurse came out and explained how to prepare the sample — in front of other patients in the waiting room. Then when I went to schedule my next appointment at the front desk, the receptionist asked what it was for, I had to say (again in front of other patients in the waiting area) it was for talking about HRT. Though my provider seemed to have written a note about my next appt., presumably to the front desk, though they never reference any kind of communication with the clinical side. The same thing happened the next time I came in, had to announce I wanted a psych eval for top surgery in front of other patients. Therea a lack of privacy and professionalism across the board. Then their model of coordinating care / sharing patients across all providers is ineffective. Not sure if it’s an issue with their software, the coordinated care system itself or individual providers. I had an intake with one provider, scheduled a follow up with him specifically to discuss HRT. During the follow up we went over some info from the first visit, then when he was going to leave I said “aren’t we going to discuss HRT? That’s why I scheduled this appt” he told me to schedule another apt because we were out of time. The make-up follow up was with a different provider. I had to go through all the same intake I did with the first provider a few months prior, so the first two appts were retrospectively a waste of time.I work in healthcare. I have friends and family who are doctors and nurses. I’ve moved a lot and have seen a range of different providers (primary care and specialty). I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s unusual to experience a string of oversights and unprofessional conduct like this. Especially disappointing for a clinic that advertises itself as “compassionate healthcare for the LGBTQ community”. I don’t feel safe at Prism, especially as someone who is beginning my transition; when I can’t trust the front desk to value my privacy and honor my identity, when I can’t rely on my providers to take the most basic step of reading my chart before or even during our visit? How am I supposed to feel secure in trusting their medical advice?I talked to one of the doctors and a nurse at Prism about my experience. I wrote to the care coordinator detailing the above and more. I never heard back, and when I went in for my next visit three months later for a check up experienced the same thing (careless mistakes, lack of professionalism etc.) Not sure what’s going on, but there’s something off with the central structure and it’s destabilizing the whole operation.
The front desk is amazing! They dealt with a difficult and screaming patient (as most of us would call a male Karen) very calmly and professionally. The nurse that came out to talk with patient was also calm and professional. The providers are all very kind and caring.
Prism was really supportive of me as I navigated traumatic and botched top surgery experiences. They helped me to write a letter detailing my disability accommodation needs that were not being addressed by surgeons and were generally very supportive of me.While I wish they had been able to give a referral to a better surgeon I am glad that they were very supportive in helping to advocate for me, given the circumstances. As traumatic as my surgery experiences were, things would have been much worse without the support and advocacy I had from Prism.
Update: I came back in for another appointment yesterday, and had a significantly better experience. It sounds like they are extremely understaffed and I was able to see a different provider who made me feel very comfortable and like she actually cared about my care. Hopefully I just had the one bad experience.I initially felt like I might have just gotten the doctor on an off day, but after seeing these other recent reviews I feel compelled to share. I started going to PRISM 3 years ago when Mandy McKimmy was still practicing here. She was hands-down the best HCP I have ever had, and at that time the front desk staff and nurses were very kind and comfortable to be around.I came back recently for my first in-person appointment after the pandemic, and it was awful. The front desk staff were cold and short. I got back into the room and the nurse also seemed pretty short and not to care about the couple health concerns I brought up. The kicker was the doctor (Dr. Oppenheim) though. He was very cold and mean throughout the whole, very VERY short interaction(less than 10 minutes) I had with him. Immediately brushed off my health concerns, fat-shamed me and said I need to start exercising more (I already do). Clearly had no experience or training with trans patients. He didnt take any vitals or any of the other basic physical examinations Ive had during every other check-up of my life.He ran through the basic questionnaire, and then quickly left. I thought he was going to come back and actually do his job at all but then the nurse brought me back to the Quest Diagnostics area and I got my shots and left. Thankfully the Quest tech was very lovely and funny, the only bright spot (but obvs not an actual PRISM employee).Overall, I am highly disappointed. This felt like the first medical clinic I could feel truly comfortable in when I first came here, and now its lost all of that magic. It seems based on the recent reviews Im not alone. I dont really know where else to find a good trans healthcare provider either. I really hope PRISM gets its act together and I can feel comfortable coming back here in the future.
I recently established care at Prism Health and couldnt be happier. The staff was friendly and explained everything quite well. (I work in healthcare, so I really focus on a providers communication) I also love how they consider the entirety of a patient, not just symptoms. I have already recommended Prism Health to a few people and will continue to do so. Great job.
Double check your insurance before your appointment because even though they provide primary care, they specialize in that care for certain demographics, and my insurance has to charge me their specialist copay, which is twice what it is for a PCP. And because the clinic did not collect my copay up front, I got surprised by the bill later. The billing department for OCHIN was amazing, they did a lot of research between them and my insurance, and explained things really well once they figured it out. Maybe other insurance plans and companies bill differently. The clinic staff and nurses are kind and efficient, the doctor I was scheduled with was not. It had been a few years since my last physical, so I wanted to get a general sense of my health and then tackle some specific health concerns including gender transition. I had two appointments where he focused on two different things each time, neither of which were of major concern to me. He prescribed meds for one thing which I wound up reacting horribly to and he seemed unconcerned by the side effects when their triage nurse nearly panicked and said to discontinue it immediately, and he sent a referral for specialized testing for the other. Those results came back from that facility and were pretty much normal, and I have not received follow up from Prism. He was extremely dismissive of my ADHD, he just looked at the dose of my medication and said it was too high, and that I should lower it if not completely discontinue it. He had zero context for the history of my symptoms and treatment, and had no respect for the specialist I had been seeing for a year and had diagnosed it six months prior. He never touched on anything relating to the possibility of me transitioning, which is the main reason I wanted to go to this clinic in the first place.I do think the staff care, but my experiences with the doctor were very disappointing and I dont think Ill be returning.
Prism is amazing! I have had uncomfortable experiences at other medical clinics when dealing with intake questions. Here, everyone is so caring and inclusive! I unfortunately have to find a new primary care clinic and have no idea how anywhere else will measure up to the level of care and kindness I have received here.
The staff is amazing and very compassionate. They listen to ones health care needs and are also empathetic.
Im editing my review from 5 stars after a few disappointing, time consuming, and questionable appointments. This was never going to be the Ritz Carlton of clinics. It didnt have a doctor or nurses when I started going there almost 3 years ago. But it was convenient despite the mistakes. Plus, I wanted to support the community. If you are in San Francisco, where there a couple LGBT clinics, there is a similar clinic to what this appears to be becoming: A Medicaid clinic that is overly cautious after lawsuits or overdoses, so it begins to become an embarrassing plight on the community. They still serve many patients with active addictions so its a tad bit scary to even go there and all your friends tell you to steer clear and go to another one instead. Because there is no case management at the clinic, the people with active addiction that make it look bad, never get the treatment and housing they need. It isnt holistic. You cant really blame the clinic, it just wasnt well managed enough to set up the safeguards from this happening in the first place. No checks and balances on controlled prescriptions, writing prescriptions under preferred names, etc. Someone will always abuse the system and the community pays. For risk management, they could have never accepted Medicaid yet accepted patients on the sliding scale fee that already exists. Put these sliding scale patients on more extensive contracts. Anyway, older Medicare patients, people with good job or school insurance plans, etc are going to leave this clinic if it doesnt change and quick. Like I did. Im still giving the clinic 2 stars for effort.
I am a new patient of Dr. Oppenhiem. From my initial contact with front desk to make an appointment, through scheduling and intake, my appointment, and the follow-up, what I experienced was next-level excellence in every way.Not only was every person informed and courteous, each gave the distinct impression that they were doing everything they could to ensure my visit, my needs, and my health were their number one priority. My appointment was the day before a holiday weekend, and this was my first appointment with this new healthcare provider, my concerns they would be rushed, unable to take care of all of my questions, or unable to schedule any follow-ups were 100% unnecessary. Not only did Dr. Oppenheim take all of the time necessary to go over my medical chart, he discussed each of my concerns, provided alternatives, and set me on a course for healthy changes that only such genuine attention and understanding made possible.Healthcare is a challenging subject for so many--balancing the need for special attention, non-judgmental care, and affordable providers is difficult--but I can say without reservation that Prism Health manages to pull it off with ease.Writing reviews takes time--and I dont write many--but my experience was so excellent I felt compelled to not only write this review, but send a personal thank you letter. More importantly, Im confident every patient will receive a level of care no different than my own.As a paramedic and firefighter Ive seen healthcare provided in many different ways--Ive seen it at its best and unfortunately at its worst. I can say without reservation that my experience at Prism was unparalleled in terms of quality, respect, and overall level of care. I would recommend Prism to anyone seeking healthcare from a community of providers whose first priority is the patient.
I have medical trauma. I hate going to any medical office. The staff at Prism, from front office, the nurse/assistant (dont know the proper title), the doctor and the phlebotomist were helpful and considerate. I actually had the first pleasant doctors office experience ever in my life, and Ive been to a lot. I was believed and wasnt shamed. I felt encouraged and left extremely appreciative for this experience. Thank you Prism Team.
I’ve been a patient at this clinic for close to three years. Once Covid hit, this chronic went down the hill with a quickness and never recovered.I showed up for a scheduled Covid test and was asked to advance to wait in my car outside. I arrived 10 minutes early, but it took them 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time for them to come out and give me my test. The following week, I had a follow up appointment for an injury, and STI/STD testing, I arrived 12 minutes past my appointment time due to traffic. The front staff greeted me by saying you’re 10 minutes late we can’t see you today. Keep in mind that when I walked through the lobby doors it was 1:11 and my appointment was for 1 PM.This appointment was two weeks after my initial appointment request for broken ribs follow up evaluation. I still have severe internal pain, and they refused to see me because I was 12 minutes past check-in. I was standing out front of the clinic from 1245 till 1:10 PM, and I had already checked in on the app. They could see me out front and still disregarded my check in through the app and my physical presence being outside of the clinic. The front staff was rude, short with me, and the clinic manager was the exact same. She showed absolutely no compassion or understanding for being two minutes beyond the threshold. This is how they treat patients, existing patients, and new patients alike.Do not go to this clinic if you don’t like being bullied and dealing with staff that have zero customer service skills.
INCREDIBLY inaccessible for patients with executive disfunction. I have now missed three separate appointments because I was slightly late and each time they have failed to reschedule me within two weeks. For a place that is meant to be inclusive to neurodivergent people, it really does not care for its patients with ADHDUpdate: Because it’s the only place in PDX that I can get half decent trans healthcare I’m forced to continue coming. But the 10 minute policy has not changed and if it were not for the effort of the person at the front desk I would have again been forced to reschedule. There was a crash on the freeway and I had literally no control over how late I was, yet I would have been forced again to put off medically necessary blood work. It’s a completely unreasonable policy especially since no doctor ever even enters the room in the first 10 minutes of an appointment and I am regularly asked to wait that long to just see the nurse, even when I am on time.
I waited a while to be seen here and it is for sure my preferred health clinic, my health plan kept denying and not answering emails and messages and the folx at prism worked with avita pharmacy daily to check on everything for me. Dealing with denials of medication for weeks to try to get me my prescriptions. That kind of effort from staff doesnt happen at every clinic let me tell ya! They worked as a team with avita pharmacy to get things handled for me, and I am so thankful for that. These people truly care about others and do their best to help you out. The wait was worth it to be here and to feel accepted and cared for properly by medical professionals. Even with all of my delays in getting medicine, the team at prism made the experience so much better by showing up for me every day, and every week . They answer their phones, and are also pleasant on the phones (unlike other places ive been to...). Being next to avita pharmacy is the icing on the cake. its honestly the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Come here if you want to be accepted, protected, and cared for.
I’m going to miss the staff at Prism. Everyone from start to end are friendly, professional, knowledgeable, & went above and beyond. When i first came to Portland, i was depressed & anxious for many months. They helped me to get back on track & am happy to report that I am doing well & thriving now.In no particular order since they’re all equally awesome in their own way, a big shout out to the folks i interacted with - Connie, Danielle, Will, Maya, Jake, & Amy! Thank you for your compassionate care. Much
Favorite inclusive health clinic i have ever been to! Used to go to outside in but tbh the staff still managed to misgender me. Prism is super rad! Wheelchair accessible besides the fact the doors arent auto-doors. My doctor is amazing. Receptionist is kind. Waiting area is clean and cozy and has lots of free condoms/lube, etc.
Knowledgeable and caring staff, Easy to manage labs and appointments using MyChart, and the Onsite Pharmacy make my experience 5 stars. This is a great addition to my existing healthcare routine. Thank you for being a great place for our community.
I’ve visited prism multiple times over the past few months, including a zoom visit, lab work, and even getting some tech support from the front desk. Every single time, and every single person I’ve interacted with, it’s been a complete delight and I truly cannot recommend this place enough for my queer fam. It is worth switching providers for right now and I only wish I’d done it sooner. I will gladly trek from nopo to se to have fun at my doctor’s appointments.
I’ve only had great experiences here, everyone has been so nice. The phlebotomist is the best I’ve ever been to & I’m a big weeny with needles. I can’t even feel it when I go here & they showed me they can do it on my arm in a different place than the usual super tender area. Changed everything.
I am so grateful to have Mandy McKimmy as my primary care provider! I have several chronic health issues, and therefore I spend a lot of time going to different medical facilities. I have had countless primary care providers over the years, and Mandy McKimmy is hands down the most competent, compassionate, and knowledgable provider I have had. Mandy trusts that I know my body, she respects my agency and autonomy, and I feel completely comfortable talking to her about anything going on with my health. Unlike most of the NPs I have had over the years, Mandy is very informed about a lot of my diagnoses. In the past, I have had to explain my health issues to providers and argue with them about a treatment plan. It is not uncommon for me to know more about my diagnoses than my healthcare providers, but that is definitely not the case with Mandy! I never feel rushed when speaking to Mandy, and she takes as much time as necessary to make sure all my questions are answered. The Prism facilities and staff are also great. There is always good music playing in the waiting room, which is clean and cozy. The staff has always been kind and welcoming. I feel like I get to be comfortable being myself at Prism. I am so lucky I get to have Mandy McKimmy and Prism Health on my healthcare team! Thank you, Prism!
Connie and Maria have really helped the trans people of Portland and I dont know what we would do without themIve been on HRT for 2.5 years now and had some gender changing surgeries. And Im finally back in university and in touch with my family again despite serious health problems and insurmountable odds. I really owe all of this to them.We love you guys. Thank you
I cannot say enough critical things about this extremely subpar clinic...Relentless pushing of different medications on me.Failing to give me my drivers license back and then blaming me for forgetting it.Ending up being hospitalized for a condition I suffer for for 5 DAYS! AND NOT ONE ENQUIRY AS TO MY HEALTH, AND ZERO HELP IN GETTING ME INTO HOSPITAL SOONER.This place is disgusting, very unprofessional, scant in replies... warped priorities and client care response.
Two things first - I got very nice care from them, medically speaking. I work in healthcare as well and the staff was courteous and friendly. I got what I came in for, which was to try and establish Prism as the first primary care I’ve had in years. That is the only reason I am giving ANY stars, as my billing experience has been such an ongoing nightmare that I would never, ever recommend someone go there unless they 1) Only have one insurance plan that explicitly contracts with Prism and 2) Have already paid their deductible. Because it’s obvious to me that their billing department is at best clueless and at worst down right negligent.I have two insurance plans, and Prism only took one of them (my secondary insurance). After billing my primary insurance and getting the expected denial, I was contacted by the billing department to inquire about how I was going to pay back my ~$200 primary care visit. I had to insist that they try to bill my secondary. “Okay, we will, but they’re probably going to deny it” is what I was told by Prism. I talked with the insurance specialist *at my own work, which is another health clinic* and they were perplexed by this response. That isn’t how secondary insurance works, they said. This is a preventative care visit, covered by your insurance plan, at a clinic that says they contract with that insurance provider. It should work out.Months go by. I hear nothing, so I figure it went through. Then all of a sudden I get a call from Prism saying they mailed me a bill (to an old address - by this point it was 9 months since that one appointment and I had moved). I was expected to pay in full and “your insurance denied it, I can’t really see why but they did. You need to pay us”. I am fuming, and bewildered, and certain this means my visit was not coded correctly so that it was billed to my insurance as a preventative, but in desperation to get this solved I agree to a payment plan. I state $30 a month to be billed on the 12th of each month is what I will do as I fight this with my insurance. The first month, they don’t bill me. They call me and say I gave them the wrong card info. We go over it together and alas, they had just typed the numbers of my debit card in incorrectly. Silly them.Second month, I get a call. “You can’t pay us with a Health Savings Account, you need to pay us with a debit or credit card”. I explain that I can 1) See that my $30 payment had already gone through with them and 2) Said payment came from my checking account connected to a visa debit card that I already double confirmed with them last month. Fast forward 15 minutes as I fight my way to speak to the billing manager, who then admits to me that this was a mistake on their part and that there was in fact no issue with my payment. She promised me that “there shouldn’t be any issues in the future”.This is the third month. It is the 21st. I have not been billed yet, despite the 12th being my requested payment day. I am waiting for the phone to ring so I can be bugged with this again. I am past angry, I am furious. It has almost been a full year since my one visit and I am still dealing with this - I would never in my life go back there simply because of how outreagous it has been to try to bill my insurance through them, much less how it seems to be impossible to get credit for trying to pay them in the mean time. Just....ugh.
Always playing the jams & always have great tea options & plenty if smiling facesI wish I found this place soonerThey are all awesome here🙌❤🌟✌Update:The Doctors that I experienced here totally seemed nice at first. But then I found myself practically begging for help to do normal things before & after being hit by a van in September. The Doctors that I experienced were very dismissive of my pain levels & didnt care that I could no longer bring my son to school on my own or volunteer in the community garden. They refused to reach out to my previous Doctors in New Orleans to better determine a treatment plan for me. And just in general left me hanging when notified that I was injured by hospital staff in November of last year. I only wanted to be well enough to work & take care of my kiddos. Im not asking for much. If not for being hit by the van I wouldnt even have recieved the physical therapy. What I really need to say is people of color in Portland do not go here. Its seems that Im not seen as a human here also. I deserve the right to see my son in school plays. As well the ability to walk around at my own leisure. Im not paralyzed I wanted to be able to walk & lose some caregiving hours. I was essentially begging these people to let me have a life. No one should have to do that. Also its a b.s. reason to tell someone that their skin color puts them at risk for addiction. Thats not even a thing. I am going to continue speaking up about it until something is done. If I dont speak up then how anyone know how Portland really is.The point of this is I thought that Id found a safe place to receive medical care since my health has been neglected & I have been severely abused by medical staff to the point where Im running out of places to get careIve only been here two years & Ive almost died three times since moving here. Hope someone out there understands how difficult it is to post stuff like this. I really appreciate when people are genuinely kind to me & happy to help me. I appreciate being treated like a human being. Because I am. But most portlanders dont see that in me. I wish I knew what they see. Then maybe I can understand.
Great place for queer folks to go for primary care; you wont find LGBTQA+ primary care anywhere else in Portland. They also provide free HIV testing on certain days. Check online or call ahead for testing services. Additionally, they have PrEP Navigators on staff to help at-risk individuals get on pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV prevention, sometimes at no cost to the patient (if limited income).Nurse Practitioner Miguel Carreon is smart, friendly, and gave me the type of personal care that I have not experienced elsewhere. They take most insurances.Prism privides personalized, public-health oriented care and gives back to the community. If youre queer and need a primary care provider, this is the place.
Highly Recommend Prism, The Office is Inviting, and Modern, Staff are Kind, Warm, and Accepting of All People. This is The Way Medicine Should have Always been done, But Through Trail and Error(Of Past Dr. Offices-You know the kind) Prism Has Invented a New and Refreshing Approach to Medicine, You can even See Where You Park From the Waiting Room, Very Cool Office, Great Water Machine(This is Critical)
Prism is doing everything it was designed to do. People walk in tgos doors feeling as if theyve finally found a place to get the health care they not only need but deserve. Prism is inclusion and acceptance not as a catchy mission statement but in everyday practice. If you need non judgmental care, give them a call and see for yourself.
I’ve bbvv MBv een rehceiving my medical services at Prism Health for almost five years. The Primary Care Physician has Changed a few times. Usually when that happens, you prefersgg a PCP over the others. But everybody there is ffr
Amazingly great in just about every way. I use this well-designed, LGBTQ-friendly clinic as my primary healthcare provider. The staff and doctors were all very friendly and professional, and put me at ease, helping me navigate through all my questions.
There is no way to speak with anybody at the front desk via their phone system. There is no option for general inquires. So when your PCP doesnt get back to you for half the day regarding a prescription concern youre SOL unless you want to physically get yourself there. Its infuriating.
Would be new patient. I emailed last week with no response, called several times this week and left a voicemail yesterday all with no answer / response. I was excited by all the reviews however if I can’t even get in touch to make an appointment I worry about making this my PCP.
Nice free testing for gay men on certain days. First come, first serve when it comes to testing which can be good or bad depending on when you get there. Helpful staff. They also offer a nice range of free condoms, male and female, and lube too!
Everyone was very friendly, and my doctor Diana was very thorough and easy to talk to. Testing was very fast and efficient. Im so thankful to have PRISM Health.
I went here to get some routine testing done. The wait was pretty long, but the staff are so sweet and accommodating and non-judgmental! Is it weird to look forward to your next HIV test?
Prism Health provided the best doctors office experience Ive had in my entire life. Every step of the process was mindful, caring, and comfortable.
Kudos and really grateful to have Christine RN help with patient navigation and fighting the insurance company to help with patient medication access.
I have the sweetest doctor who actually listened it to my concerns and we have worked out a plan for things. So yessss I recommend this place. Im sorry for those who dont have a positive experience but mine was great. Some of you are just unlucky, sad face.
This is one of the best doctors offices I have ever been to. The staff is all so caring, they are understanding, and take time at each appointment to really help their patients.
Super friendly and helpful staff. I was impressed with how clean and organized the entire place is. The staff really know what they’re doing and make you feel welcomed and comfortable from start to finish. Thank you so much for being a huge asset to the community.
Theres no reason to make.dozens of people wait 2-5 hours to be seen. its disrespectful and completely unnecessary. there are equitable ways to schedule that are less painful for everyone. if you cant think of any, contact me.
Good service for some but sad, they dont contribute to the Oregon Theater no more. The Theater is a very sex positive place for the community.
Amazing care. I am a complex patient and my case was handled so well. Absolutely wonderful and respectful.
I made an appointment months ago, I was really looking forward to my tests. They closed on the day of the appointment without informing me. I found out when I went to the door and saw a notice with the invalid dates on it. Unacceptable.
Awful service, and they dont accept you as a patient unless your insurance is covering the bill. (Yeah...you arent allowed to pay out of pocket.)
The dr I had wasn’t empathetic to my needs and did not appear to care.
Great clinic for the LGBT community. Everyone is welcomed. Very friendly staff.
Very kind staff. Explained everything in calm friendly manner. Tea is available in the lobby.
I love the entire team here. This is my primary doctors office and Im blessed to call it that.
Great atmosphere and staff!! Miguel is a very kind and caring staff member!!
