I only gave 2 stars because one of the doctors (Dr. Moody I believe) is very good and quick with the exams. However, her bedside manner was not very nice. Made me feel like I was a burden.Dr. McGil’s bedside manner is poor as well and it feels like she can’t be bothered to actually do a thorough exam and help the patient get to the bottom of their symptoms. She refused me a very simple blood test that I requested. Requested it 3 different times - turned me down verbally and then had her office staff tell me it was not “medically necessary”, even when I offered to pay for it out of pocket. Absolutely ridiculous, cold, and very unprofessional.Office administration is very unorganized and rude. They canceled my appointment over mychart and didn’t bother giving me a call. Then acted like I was the problem when I showed up for the said appointment. This was after a bunch of patients’ blood tests were mixed up, mind you.I haven’t gone back since.
Sorry management and facility..I’m being told I need to pay $50 to receive my very own medical records….. Never have I had to pay to receive my OWN personal health records. Additionally, I now have to wait to get them “approved” by someone in the office. Thank god I changed my practice years ago because these policies are backwards and archaic.MORE IMPORTANTLY:The office manager Kara is also ridiculously unprofessional. When I kindly asked about their policies for obtaining records she was dismissive and unnecessarily brought up a $25 balance from 2019 that has nothing to do with my records or the questions that I asked. I asked and was even told that it wouldn’t be necessary to pay the fee to get my records but that it “would be nice” if i did so. Rude and unprofessional. Will definitely be reporting this because I absolutely feel that she behaved this way because I’m a young Black woman
Im a previous patient of Dr. Chawla. I no longer see her due to moving away and I wish I could continue care with her. She is a phenomenal care provider. I saw her for 7 years. She was never condescending, rude, or imposing. She actively listened to me and my concerns, and took the time to explain everything in depth and never spoke over me. She answered all my questions with thoughtful responses and she never once had any negative thing to say or to insinuate in regards to my weight. She gave me all the options with details and allowed me to make an informed decision, never pushing her own agenda. I have PCOS and she was so helpful with that. She guided me through 3 years of infertility and then into my first pregnancy. I cannot recommend her enough.
I would not recommend this practice. I started care with them last year during my first pregnancy and was seen by Dr. McGil. She was not necessarily rude, but definitely not friendly. Appointments felt rushed. I didn’t feel comfortable asking questions because it seemed like she just didnt care and didnt have the time for it. Dr. Wang and Dr. Son were very nice, however. As was the ultrasound technician who did my first ultrasound. But, when it came time for my anatomy scan, when I had already had an appointment in place, I was contacted shortly before the appointment and was informed they would not be able to do it for me. They said they would not have someone available to do it for several weeks, and that they will refer me to another office to have it done. I had the hardest time getting this referral from them. I had to call several times to get it figured out after i would not hear any updates from them at all, and each time I called it seemed like they felt that I was inconveniencing and annoying them. When i switched to another provider shortly after that, it took them a long time to send my records where i was requesting. Also had to call several times for that, which i know from working in healthcare myself is a very simple and quick task. So Im not sure why it was so hard.
Appointment felt rushed or if having me in her presence was an inconvenience. She was very non chalant and very dry. Didn’t even say congratulations for my new addition to my family. This is for Dr. McGil the past few appointments she has been acting as if she is annoyed. Great customer service is big in todays world and apparently no one knows how to apply it anymore. For this to be my second pregnancy I don’t recommend coming here. I’ll have to return back to Durhams Women’s clinic. She was late to my appointment and didn’t even care to apologize for the inconvenience. Now if I was late or missed my appointment I would receive a late fee. So the same should apply to the doctors if they are late. Stop overbooking that’s the said part it’s not about people anymore it’s all about money. I thought this would be a great OBGYN for me especially since I’m African American. I was wrong they don’t care about me or anyone in the African American community. They just think we’re dumb and uneducated which I’m definitely not. I deserve top care and doctors who have a willingness to help me.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I showed up for my first initial appointment which was at 10:15 am, I was checking in at 9:55 am. The receptionist was not necessarily rude but she wasnt exactly kind either. I waited until 10:47 am to go up and ask her if I was being seen. She stated that they were under staffed & very busy. I was put into a room and the doctor did not actually come in to see me until 11:20 am. While the doctor was very nice and answered all of my questions, the process is just not up to par. Oh and then I got an email about my next 2 appointments, which were already scheduled without even asking me if they would work for me. I called because my telehealth appointment was scheduled for 8 IN THE MORNING! And my next appointment was for next Monday even though I had explained to the receptionist that I need a 2 week notice for my employer. Oh and the telehealth is obligatory. Even though I had already been explained and done all of the genetic testing with my previous provider. When I asked about my appointment being with a different doctor, the receptionist explained that because my doctor might be on call at the hospital, that they require all patients to meet ALL of their ob/gyns just in case. I just wasnt happy with my care. I will be going someplace else.
I really enjoyed coming here for my health care needs. They always make me feel heard, important, and valued as a patient. I’m never rushed when talking about issues I’m going through. I love the follow up process. The mammograms are never painful. Always pleasant and done with ease. I really love this team and always look forward to coming to my appointments. From the front desk clerk to the person that draws blood and everyone in between I say thank you thank you thank you for loving what you do. It shows. Willette Tart
I have been a patient of this practice for 20 years just until recently due to an insurance dissolution with Cigna. I was under the care of Dr. Jacokes and I had tried a couple of physicians out until the beginning of the year to try and find the same level of care. First, this office (or their managing company) did not send out any form of communication that this was going on; they relied on Cigna to do so. Secondly, once the agreement was met that Cigna would no longer be accepted this calendar year, the level of service to Cigna patients went downhill. Voicemails went unreturned for a period of time. When I did get a call back and spoke with staff to try to get things situated they all conveyed, “I don’t think Cigna will approve this.” I had to ask, how can you speak for an insurance company when you haven’t attempted to fulfill the request? The responses have been, they have been very difficult during this timeframe however that is not something you communicate to a patient that you know is trying to get treatment and cannot. This is a problem in Healthcare; a patient should not have to feel this way when trying to get care. I don’t want your personal opinions. Put in the request and if it’s denied, then we go there. My last conversation with the doctor was she was going to request a peer to peer so that I could continue my appointments here. Have not heard from this office and honestly I think they are glad I stopped calling. I communicated my intent was to come back next year if there was a meeting of the minds between them and Cigna however if they are obviously giving this type of care to those no longer in network, there is no need to come back. It’s Cigna this year and can easily be another insurance next year. Be mindful how you treat patients during a transitional period.
I have had nothing but excellent care during pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum care. Dr. Beeson did an amazing job delivering my baby! She is thorough and compassionate. All of their staff has been kind to me throughout the process. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone expecting!
First time mom over here and I felt no warmth or any genuine connection from the providers (except the wonderful lady who did my first ultrasound but she was not a doctor). A heavy focus on the money, bills, required a card as backup, and Ive had to do a lot of followup regarding my pending insurance claims. They also scheduled my appointments without asking once about my availability or preference and, being a full time employee, this was a pain point. Came in for blood testing and was contacted after I left to inform me they didnt collect all samples. I would not recommend this practice. Somehow the reviews add up to 4+ experience but, for me, this was far from it. Happily now at another practice that is authentically invested in my health and care.EDIT: 5 months later, I am still contacting this office to try to resolve a billing issue and get my deposit money back. I have had luck with front desk answering, but do not receive call backs after leaving voicemail to billing. I called again last week and asked they send me the claim information so that I can directly contact my insurance provider, they agreed to do so but I am still waiting. They have already been paid from my deposit so that is likely why theyre not motivated to help me solve this. Its been the only service provider in years whom Ive had billing issues with and a complete lack of timely and effective support. It has been a really disheartening experience.
I denied a weigh in because I have an eating disorder. The nurse made a huge deal about it and it was very triggering. I walked out of the appointment and haven’t been back since and don’t plan to
Dr. Son is an excellent doctor! Shes attentive, listens to my concerns, and answers my questions thoroughly. The recent visit was smooth with friendly and helpful front desk staff. Highly recommend Dr. Son for her exceptional care!
Ms. Benson is very polite , nice. Other practices couldn’t get my nexplanon out but she succeeded. I love her she’s like my mother I can talk to her about anything
Neither of the two doctors I met had made me feel safe. I just wanted an IUD placed and had already decided on which one I want with my PCP. The doctor I saw would not hear of it and pushed me on a different brand. I scheduled the procedure with a different doctor who seemed super annoyed when I met her and made it clear not to call her for any of the common symptoms that may occur after IUD insertion. She tried multiple times to talk me out of getting the brand I want and almost tried scaring me to do so. The nurse who was working with the doctor was nice, but before the procedure started she said she feels like she forgot something. During the procedure the doctor still seemed very annoyed, but for me the most traumatizing part was when the nurse remembered what she had forgotten, she swung the door open for everyone to see me with a drape over my lap, on the procedure table, completely bare from the waist down in the stirrups with the speculum inside of me. Because the nurse left, the doctor let go of the speculum which then almost fell out and was extremely uncomfortable for me. She attempted to hold it up for a second but then let go again only creating more discomfort. After the procedure, the doctor left me some wipes and said to clean myself up and exit to the left. She did not have me wait to see how I am she just wanted me out and did not apologize for the traumatic event. I will never go back here and will never recommend for anyone to go here.
I have seen both Dr. Son and Dr. Wang for my annual well woman appointment. They both excellent doctors in my opinion. I have never felt rushed and feel like my questions are always answered. I have been happy with the care I have been provided so much so that I moved to a rural part of NC and drive two hours for my appointments. Also, the mammographer at the office is really kind and provides great direction about the process while you are receiving a mammogram. The office staff and nurses are friendly and I have never had much of a wait while there. Overall, I recommend this practice!
I visited associate of womens health care during my pregnancy with twin boy and girl. It was my first and high risk pregnancy. I had the best experience through out my pregnancy. Doctors and nurses took care of me very well. They treated me as a friend and made sure I enjoy the process and not stress on anything about health. They responded every call and gave best support while I go through so many emotions. Thank you for everything. I would recommend this place to every pregnant woman for personal care.
10mths ago in 2022 I wrote a raving 5-star review for the genuine and thorough medical care I received from Dr. Allison Jacokes. Later on, October 31, 2023, I learned Dr. Jacokes had retired and I had an appointment with Dr. Kimberly McGill.I felt Dr. Jacokes and my other retired Gyn, Dr. Shelia Allison, were committed to my female healthcare and wellness. Each year they would order/review my CBC levels, order a bone density since Im 50+ in age, review my mammogram results, check my cholesterol level, prescribe vitamin D and other supplements as needed to ensure Im maintaining a healthy life style. As a first-time patient with Dr. McGill, I expected the same attention to detail to my wellness as a woman over age 55. We didnt review my past medical history; she encouraged me to take a genetic test in case I needed surgery per the genetic results. After my 15min exam she was out the door and I was left pondering if this was an annual womens wellness appointment or a joke!I stood outside the exam door talking with a nurse asking if my appointment was over because Dr. McGill didnt share my BP reading, mammogram results or order a CBC per her former colleague, Dr. Jacokes, who had placed me on Vitamin D supplements. The nurse confirmed my appointment was over and I could go home.Once in the parking lot I called the office manager to understand why didnt I receive the same level of care from Dr. McGill as I did with Dr. Jacokes. The office manager said Dr. McGills nurse will follow up.The next day I received a call from Dr. McGills nurse who had an annoyed tone in her voice. She informed me I need to see a general practitioner (GP) and didnt know why Dr. Jacokes ordered a bunch of blood work in the past. At this point I realized I needed to find a new provider/facility! Had a thorough Q&A new patient intake taken place, Dr. McGill would have learned I didnt have a GP since my former GP had recently closed her medical practice.
Billing is absolutely horrible!! Provided insurance information. Had 2 insurances for a short period of time. Gave card for both. Apparently they only billed one insurance (not both). Insurance company rejected claim. Had they billed both the billing issue could have been avoided. I went through this for a few months (calling providers and the insurance companies to insure all claims were paid). Literally one year later I get an invoice. I called twice and sent an email to discuss. Never got a call back from billing but they charged my credit card over $300.
Long time coming. I had a baby in 2009 and another in 2010 and came here for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. At the time, I was going through domestic violence at home and confided in my OBGYN at this practice about it during the first pregnancy. She immediately referred me to a psychiatrist for MY issues. Since my husband at the time came to visits and was nice to staff, they could not believe he would do the things I was telling them. I must be mental. Victim blaming. 14 years later, I have been divorced for many years, got away from my abuser, was able to attain sole physical and legal custody of both children. The DA went to jury trial after my ex abused the kids too (which I was trying to prevent before, but nobody listened or helped, just blamed me). He was convicted in October this year of child abuse. His sentencing is end of January 2024. LISTEN TO WOMEN. HEAR THEM. Not all abusers seem like abusers in public- they have a public persona and one behind closed doors in private.
As a black woman who works in reproductive health I would describe myself as especially cautious about the OB/GYN care I receive. Over the past two weeks, it was not only incredibly easy for me to get my annual well woman visit, but a birth control consult for the IUD.I had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Wang, who was very easygoing and knowledgable. She prescribed me a sedative for my procedure, that ended up being pretty helpful (in my opinion) for an otherwise intolerable time. The insertion was fairly quick and admittedly painful. Although, I am someone with a history of very painful menstrual cycles so the cramping and discomfort was not new to me.However, I may have overestimated my strengths and got up a bit too early after insertion. I began cramping severely and experiencing mild vertigo. As soon as I began displaying symptoms three amazing ladies, Hailey (I believe I held her hand during insertion), Whitney and Stacy waited with me in the back until I felt better. They took my blood pressure, held an icepack to my neck and even plugged a fan in to make me feel better. My doctor returned to check on me once more, and after about ten minutes I was ready to go home. They shared their own experiences with IUDs and even some laughs with me. I really appreciate their attentiveness and compassion, and am grateful to have had such a supportive experience.
I went to this OBGYN in hopes to get a diagnosis for PCOS. that is on hold for now since the major billing issues I’ve had to face as a self pay patient because of the improper explanation of costs for treatment and lab work. I tried calling this office several times as they agreed to communicate with Labcorp to take care of the bill but have yet to do so. Labcorp is now threatening to send me to collections and I have racked up over $700 in lab corp bills because of the lack transparency in this office. Not to mention I paid $400 something for the OBGYN visit and asked for Treatment plan which did not state the costs for the lab work! They also ran a test I did not ask for …
I hate writing bad reviews, and especially for a healthcare facility. Since I am also in the health field and I know how crazy things are right now. However, my experience here is one of the worst I have ever had at a health facility. I had an appointment back in February of this year. My sole purpose of this appointment was to obtain a NON-HORMONAL method of birth control. The nurses and front office staff were the only good thing about my appointment. They were kind and helpful. I saw Dr. Linda Mohr, and I really wish I had read reviews before seeing her. She was very dismissive, aggressive, and kept cutting me off and interrupting me. I told her I wanted a diaphragm and she pushed the IUD very aggressively throughout the entire appointment, even though I told her many times I had a horrible and painful experience with the IUD and was not interested. She gave me a pap smear as I was due for one. It was the most aggressive, rough, and uncomfortable pap smear I have ever gotten. I dont know if she was in a rush or just didnt care about how rough she was being, but I have never experienced anything like that before. I have since seen other reviews here that mention the same experience. She also made a comment about how she was glad I didnt let the bad reviews keep me from coming into the facility for an appointment. Not a good sign. I probably should have told someone that I had such a horrible experience, but I was honestly so caught off guard and needed time to process what had happened. I was told my diaphragm would be ordered and I would receive it at most in a few months due to some backordering. Not a problem. I reached out the following month to check in about my diaphragm. I was told the order was never sent. Okay things happen. I was told it may take until June to receive my diaphragm. I continued to check in periodically over the next few months. It became harder and harder to get into contact with the office. I was then told in June that my order should be here within the next few weeks. July came and I did not hear anything, and I followed up with no response. Here we are about to enter September and still no diaphragm. I have since given up waiting and will be going somewhere else. It is incredibly frustrating that I went to see them almost 7 months ago for a diaphragm and never received it. That was the whole reason for my appointment, and this horrible experience. I dont recommend this place and I certainly do not recommend Dr. Mohr.
My wife was unfortunately referred to Associates in Womens Healthcare when she became pregnant. We went together for the first visit and the technician was reasonably nice, about the only person there I could say that for. The front desk staff is miserable and rude and only concerned about getting your credit card information. We were told that it was a high-risk geriatric pregnancy and that testing was critical due to risk. She went in to get blood drawn for the testing and then waited and waited. Finally, weeks later, when she went in to discuss the testing results, it turns out that oops, they forgot to actually send the samples for testing. So now 13 weeks in, we still have no information whatsoever. But while Dr. Moody couldnt be bothered to send the samples in for testing, she sure did find the time to send the bill for the tests that werent performed. Unless you want a stressful, miserable pregnancy, find another doctor that cares about patient health and not just how to milk insurance for services not performed.
Before I get into the negatives, I want to share the positive portion of my experience.First the receptionist was very kind and clear. She seemed like she knew what she was doing and I really appreciated my interactions with her.I also saw an ultrasound tech during a visit. She is one of the most amazing medical professionals I have ever met. She was so kind, clear, and knowledgeable. I loved every minute of being with her despite this being during an ultrasound. Now to the negatives.I was very clear that I only had an hour during my lunch to attend this appointment. Despite this, my first appointment was 30 minutes late. I made sure I was clear to share that this was the case. You know what it happens I thought, Ill give them another shot. But then the second appointment and the appointment was 25 minutes late. The two nurses I spent the bulk of my time interacting with really did not make me feel comfortable in the slightest. I came in with a specific problem and tried to give a clear and very honest medical history and details of the information as an initial intake. However, I felt so judged with every single word that came out of my mouth. I was so incredibly uncomfortable, regardless I tried to stay very clear.I had interactions with other nurses other than the two I spent a fair amount of time with, I will say all of those interactions went great. It seemed to just be the two nurses I was stuck with. Finally Dr. Nan Wang. I chose Dr. Wang because of the great reviews that she had thinking she would be compassionate and knowledgeable, that was not my experience. She made no introduction upon entering the room even though I was a new patient. She seemed exhausted and I like she didnt want to be there. She made judgemental side comments. It wasnt until I finally told her how uncomfortable and nervous I was that she started showing any compassion and trying to make me more comfortable. I left feeling worse than when I came. But, regardless, I needed answers to my problem and thought everyone has bad days and gave her another shot. Her attitude was generally the same on my second visit.Even more at the end of my second appointment she tried to just dismiss me and send me on my way with no answers. When I stopped her and said okay you dont have the answers, but where do I look next only then did she decide to ask any questions or do anything to actually help me. Then she kept asking me what if we just put you on birth control. She asked this five or six times, even though I repeatedly told her I had had dozens of terrible experiences. She didnt seem to care, just said there were lots of options. Im sorry but I dont want to go on that medication Mary go around again. It was a nightmare. She also never once asked about my reproductive goals.I am so disgusted by this interaction. She didnt seem to take me seriously or care about my wants or needs at all. Its clear others didnt have my experience... But I look to reviews like this to guide me so I feel I have to share this. I hope you have a better experience.
I have been a patient for many, many years and have recommended your practice to others. Everyone there is friendly, efficient and helpful. I receive thorough, personal care from my doctor who always has time for me and my questions. I appreciate being able to get my mammogram at the same time and used to get my flu shot as well until I aged out for the one they offer.
I have been seeing Dr. Chawla for years and she is fantastic! I recently delivered my first baby and I cannot recommend this practice enough! Every doctor I saw was so helpful, kind, and responsive to all of my questions and concerns. Dr. Moody delivered our baby and she is incredible! The office staff is so helpful. Kara went out of her way to help me understand what insurance would cover, etc. which was so helpful since this was my first baby. Traci is the absolute best ultrasound tech! She made us feel relaxed, was so knowledgeable, and made every ultrasound we had a great experience! When I had to do the 3 hour glucose test, Brandi was the best! I cannot recommend this practice enough! They made my first pregnancy and delivery a great experience!
I am tired of this place and places like it. My wife went here for all of 1.5 months and has been fighting them since. Our baby is >3 months now. If I’m lying look at the reviews over the last year with regards to billing and transparency. They bill in advance (global billing) and while doing so don’t report services to your insurance so when something goes awry you’re out of luck. They will respond and say they bill to acog standards and major insurance carriers but my insurance company has requested billing documents from them over 5 times and they will not code or provide them properly. My wife was told over 5 times that their billing manager will call her to discuss/resolve, needless to say she has not spoken to Valerie once. She has however received multiple letters saying we have exhausted all efforts (before and after refunds and charges) but never a call. Totally unprofessional and frankly unkind to a patient/past patient of your practice. There is no excuse for poor service and a lack of respect. They will of course “improve” but change starts with recognition, correction, kindness, respect TODAY not tomorrow, when your ratings and finances are being affected.
I rate this office as a 2 because I had a decent experience with the providers (just always remember to advocate for yourself) and an amazing experience with the ultrasound tech I wish I could remember her name because she has A+ bedside manner and she deserves recognition. I would give no stars to the billing department alone if I could. I was an OB patient new to the area and was referred to this office. I decided to switch offices about halfway through my pregnancy for several different reasons. One being they have a global billing system where they charge you for labor and delivery prior to you actually going in to labor so you have to have a credit card on file and are required to sign a contract. With me leaving the practice and obviously not delivering with them my credit card should have been credited the entire amount that that went unused.Well it has been 6 months and I have not received all of my funds. Within this time I have been refunded partial payments and then charged again. I have been back and forth with them and the insurance company for months. Being that I’m in the medical field I have done this for my patients and I know it can be a pain dealing with the insurance companies but two different insurance companies state they were missing paperwork and have a hard time getting someone to call them back which I know to be true because the insurance representative called with me on the line with them on a few different occasions. So I just started to go between the two as I know I’m just a number to both sides and don’t want to slip through the cracks. I, myself have left messages and didn’t receive return phone calls and was told “if I don’t call you back then you have to keep calling” which is horrible practice because what is the point in leaving a message? I am always very reluctant to leave messages because I can’t even remember a time where I received a call back so I wait on hold or I plan to call back if leaving a message is the only option at the time. I have asked that they stop charging my card because I and due to be refunded and the issue is they are not sending the necessary paperwork to the insurance company but they charged me yet again and I was told by Jan in billing that they never received a check from the insurance company and after escalating and months of back and forth it turns out they did receive the check. It is 6 months later and still no resolve.
Met with Dr. Allison Jacokes for my annual physical and it was my first time at Associates in Womens Healthcare. My Gyn retired and I wanted a womens wellness center and thats the experience I had on my first visit. I received my CBC results in a timely manner. My veins are are very difficult to draw blood and the nurse did it with such ease. Dr. Jacokes kept her promise and manually completed my work physical and I picked it up in two days after my appointment.I like the text message reminders to pick up my prescription.Overall, it was a great experience and I plan to return for my next annual womens wellness physical and mammogram.
I thought very hard about writing this review, but I cannot get any answers to my concerns from the office staff or managers. For my privacy, I will share only a few of the events that have occurred. I was treated by this office for years without a single issue. I recently found out I was pregnant and every single interaction with this office since I found out was horrible. They had numerous medical history items missing or incorrect in my chart including allergies and health history- the nurse that was fixing everything even commented that she didn’t know how it could be so wrong. The front desk staff is extremely rude and unwilling to help, the doctor I saw wrote in my portal that she discussed concerns on the ultrasound with me- but she never looked at or discussed the ultrasound with me in any capacity good or bad. the only person who saw the ultrasound with me and my husband was the ultrasound tech (who was very sweet, and said everything looked to be measuring well) since then I have left the practice, they continued to charge the “card on file” of my closed account without a bill or statement ever sent to me to this date. More recently they have called me leaving a voicemail about a $13 bill on my account but it shows that I have a credit of $400 on my portal.. and I can’t get anyone to answer my questions as to the difference. When I asked to speak the manager who I have spoken to previously about my concerns I was told that I could not be transferred to her. I felt it was necessary to share my experience to prevent other expecting mamas from the stress and anxiety that this office caused me.
Dr. Moody has always been a great help to me. Shes very communicative, honest and skilled. She was able to do many of the further tests I needed right in the same office with advanced equipment. The whole staff Ive interacted with has been friendly, regardless of my insurance status. (Ive been self pay at many visits)
I would not typically leave a review like this but as a mental health provider and advocate, I feel women with a trauma history should know this healthcare facility does not take a trauma-informed approach to healthcare. My neighbor warned me about going here and alluded to some administrative issues but said they had a new doctor who was worth seeing. Now I understand why this recommendation came with a warning. If you require a trauma-informed staff to feel comfortable, this is not the place to go. Yes, the staff are nice but trauma-informed care is more than passive pleasantries. The intake process in an open common area where small (door-less) cubicles exist for them to review all of your medications, medical conditions, and presenting problems. If you plan to disclose sexual assault, miscarriage, STI concerns, or anything that could be remotely uncomfortable or vulnerable, mentally prepare yourself to do so in a space that hardly feels HIPAA compliant. When I brought my privacy concerns to the staff, I was met with a “oh it was worse than this before.” At a minimum, the staff should 1) be empowered to express their concerns to management and 2) be trained to offer patients the *option to request a private room for intake if this is not something they can guarantee for every patient. Expecting a patient to self-advocate for their needs is the opposite of trauma informed care. After entering the exam room, I noticed the curtain was maybe a 1.5 feet wide. Anytime the nurse entered or left the exam room (whether I was dressed or not), I felt my personal privacy was not being protected as I could easily see staff and/or patients walking by just outside of the door. As someone who is willing and able to self-advocate, many people with a trauma history struggle with this for very understandable reasons. I hope this facility chooses to invest time, money, and energy into creating a more trauma informed environment and training for women in need of empathetic care.
Reputable, clean, professional, safe, affordable, and convenient.
Please sort the reviews and read the newest first! While the overall rating here seems ok, the newest reviews speak to the current state of the practice.I was a patient of AWHC for several years and was pleased, as I only needed annual appointments at that time. Fast forward to infertility, and it was awful. The physicians there seem to have no knowledge of infertility, which is fair given their training is taking care of pregnant women, but instead of referring out or consulting, you’re just continually sent home. After a ruptured ectopic, no HSG was done. I have since learned this is standard practice and should have been completed. We then would have found out my remaining tube is blocked and needs to be removed rather than wasting a year trying. Additionally, I am the one who had to request labs be done and I self referred to a fertility clinic - AWHC was not proactive at all. The final straw was in January when I came in for a blood pregnancy test due to a late cycle and was told by the MA that I was pregnant. Thirty minutes later, Dr. McGill came in and told my husband and I that they had made a mistake and we were, in fact, NOT pregnant. After this, we left the practice.I have since shared my feedback with the team, including finding out that my remaining tube is blocked and we spent an entire year trying for nothing. The response feels defensive and ego-filled. Ultimately, medicine is a practice and requires curiosity and humility. I do not feel the team at AWHC possesses those traits and administratively things seem to be chaotic. There are plenty of wonderful OBGYN’s in the area to choose from. I would not recommend this practice.
I have been a patient of theirs for 13 years. These women are caring and compassionate and remember who you are on your next visit, unlike other practices I have visited. You are seen within 15 minutes of your appointment time (and dont wait 45 minutes to be even called from the waiting room like I did at my Ob when pregnant). Dr Moody is my primary Dr (she is awesome!), however I have been seen by 2 other doctors there and were treated with the same respect and never felt rushed. I highly recommend this practice 👍
Ive been a patient here since 2010, when I was pregnant with my youngest child. I chose this practice because they had an all-female staff. Im very happy with the care and range of services they provide, especially now that they do mammograms on site! Dr. Jacokes is my regular doctor, and shes excellent.
Associates in Women’s Health was there for me 9 years ago with the birth of my baby girl and they continue to be my choice in women’s health to this day! All of the doctors in this practice care about your individual needs. I have been with Dr. Linda Mohr for my yearly routine exams. She makes me feel comfortable and she educates about new procedures and products available.I highly recommend this practice, and these wonderful doctors, to any expecting mothers and to any woman looking for excellent women’s health care!
I have been a patient at this office for 20 years. My experience has been nothing but pleasant each and every visit. Dr. Allison Jacokes and the other doctors and staff have been phenomenal. They have cared for my Medical Needs with the upmost respect and dignity through the years. Im very Thankful for the support and Medical expertise of Dr. Jacokes. She is concerned about her patients and a good listener. She has a caring heart and always offer options to any concern that I have had. She has been my OBGYN and my Surgeon. I get my mammograms here at well. Even through this pandemic my experience has been the same. Thanks Again for the wonderful services that you have provided for Me over the years.❤️
The Good:The doctors at this practice are very knowledgeable and seem to keep up with medical guidances given by ACOG and CDC. They all have multiple years of experience and I feel confident that in the case of an emergency, they would know what to do.Another aspect of this practice that I like is the payment planning. From the beginning, I felt they did a good job at breaking down the bills so I could pay each month and not be left with a large bill at the end of my pregnancy. It is comforting knowing I am going into the delivery only having to owe the hospital bill itself and nothing from the OB provider side of things. The Bad:Im sorry but its 2022 and this practice does not have a secure email to be able to send and receive documents? Not acceptable in my opinion. They also do not integrate with their own UNC portal so if go to a specialist for any reason, they cannot see your results unless you print them off and physically bring them with you to the appointment. Waste of paper in my opinion. Not to mention there is a higher likelihood that something will get misplaced and/or not disposed of properly.Another issue that irritates me is that my husband is not allowed to attendr any of the appointments (other than for the ultrasound itself) and then he is asked to leave immediately after. I fully understand that there are protocols for covid, however, if he doesnt have symptoms and is wearing a mask, I dont feel there is reason to restrict him from being a part of the appointments. For example, we had an ultrasound whee they found something abnormal and didnt address it until after my husband was asked to leave becuase this is when you actually review the ultrasound with the doctor. I had to find this information out alone and it would have been very comforting to have my partner there. (My suggestion, at least allow the partner to stay for the appointments following ultrasounds to be able to hear the results). Finally, there have been a few instances where I feel rushed after having waited for 40 minutes past my appointment to be seen by the OB. I understand the generic check in appointments are only 15 minutes, however, this is my first baby and I have a lot of uncertainties/questions. It would just be nice to not feel rushed and be given adequate time to be able to get all of my questions answered. Note to first time mothers, make sure to have a list of your questions written out and just start spitting them off so you can ensure you get them all answered.
Update: Im continually having issues with the office staff. They either dont answer the phone, never call back, or are completely rude and useless. I am being charged for something that is covered by my insurance. Ive tried calling all week and finally got ahold of some lady with an attitude who told me to leave a message for billing. Thats not helpful when next week is a holiday and my card is being charged.Dr. Wang is amazing but I cannot speak for anyone else in the office. (7/1) She listened all the issues Ive been dealing with, respected my decision to have a tubal and remove my IUD during my procedure. She said she would submit it for approval and the scheduler would reach out to me. (7/6) Dr. Wang called me last Wednesday and told me that the insurance checked out and would be hearing from the scheduler. Still no call from the scheduler. I have called and spoken to Amanda in the front office on more than one occasion and unfortunately would recommend not speaking with her. She is rude. After reading reviews on yelp, I see this is completely normal for her. (Today 7/11) I have since scheduled an appt to have yet another IUD removed because of unbearable pain and periods without having my procedure scheduled. Its been over a week since my initial appt and I still have not received a call from the scheduler. The website claims to make the process for scheduling and preparing for surgery less stressful but it has been extremely stressful.
Currently waiting - again. Almost every single time I have come here, I am stuck waiting over 30 minutes past my actual appointment time. Once it was over an hour. They ask you to come 15 minutes early to respect their time, but they wont respect yours by seeing you within your supposed appointment time. I am also very upset that they did not communicate that they had gone mask optional. I would have canceled my appointment if Id known. I will not be back.
I have been going to Associates for a few years now. I recently had my first baby and I was very pleased with the whole experience. They treated me very well and reassured me with everything that was going on. Dr Jackokes was fantastic as well during my appointments and did a great job with my c section. She was very kind and made me feel confident with the whole process. The staff is very welcoming and helpful too. I would highly recommend them!
I would highly recommend this practice. Everyone is very nice here, including the front desk, all the staff, Nurses, and Doctors. I have never had a bad experience here. It is a safe and comfortable environment. Everyone is very professional and helpful with any questions. I have been seen by two of the Doctors here and had a good experience with both of them. Dr. Moody is who I usually see and she is so great. I have also had telehealth appointments with Dr. Son before and she is awesome too. They are very knowledgeable and will educate you briefly on any personal concerns or issues you are having. They really care about what they are doing!
I have been a patient for 15 years. My Doctor retired and no one kept me know. I cant get a hold of anyone anymore. This new Doctor apparently does not read a chart and does not care about me as a person. I am so disappointed. I really thought this practice was different and it had =s turned out to be as awful as the medical community it’s at large
Dr. Jessica Son has been my doctor for a few years now and I feel so comfortable with her. She is always kind, patient, and gentle and she takes the time to explains things very well. The whole staff at this practice is always friendly and helpful, too. I highly recommend Associates in Women’s Healthcare.
Recently switched because my previous OB/GYN couldnt get me until 3-4 months out. This practice got me in within 2 weeks for my annual and was extremely helpful over the phone. The staff and nurses were beyond my expectations as well. As a 24 year old without kids I felt this was my best experience at any doctor. I felt heard and comfortable, Dr. Son is amazing, she explained everything in a professional yet understandable way and gave me plenty options.
I love the staff of Associates in Womens Healthcare! I have been a patient since 2007. Dr. Moody delivered my daughter and I have been seeing her since. Dr. Moody is caring and looks out for your well being. She has definitely looked out for me! I highly recommend this office!
I love this practice. I had to see all of the doctors when I was pregnant and I had good appointments with all of them. Dr. Moody was the one that delivered my child was great before, during and after! I also get my mammograms here and they are quick and easy and the staff that help you are great. I also liked that they will deliver to multiple hospitals in the area, which was important to me because I already knew what hospital I wanted to go to.
I have been going to Associates in Womens Healthcare for several years now and I have been very pleased with my experience! All of the staff and doctors I have seen are friendly and knowledgable and Dr. McGill specifically takes the time to answer any questions you have, no matter how silly they might seem! The nurse team is also super patient and have taken the time to make me feel comfortable at each visit. Highly recommend this practice!
I have been going here for 5 years and LOVE it. The nurses, admin staff, and doctors are always very friendly and patient. I started going when I was pregnant with my daughter 5 years ago and continue to go every year for my annual. Dr. Moody is my doctor that I see every year and she delivered my daughter - she is absolutely amazing & super nice. Dr. Gizzy is also extremely nice too - she even delivered me when my mom was pregnant.
I have delivered four children with this practice including twins which were high risk and these doctors were fabulous. Dr. Moody was my primary care doctor and she has always listened, asked questions, and given me feedback I trusted. The practice is all female which I like as I feel they understand what I am going through. Also I find it reassuring to have a female doctor that has also gone through childbirth taking care of me and Dr. Moody delivered twins which was very reassuring during that pregnancy. I honestly can not say enough about the care I have received at this practice from the front desk when I walk in to the nurses to the doctors so I would highly recommend this practice.
Initially I thought that they were going to be efficient, kind to their patients and help me. Instead I had to wait two weeks for biopsy results that were then withheld from me until I met with the Dr. who told me everything was fine, and I would just have a routine pap in a year.Confusion and no calls back the day before when I was told the results would be available in a week and not posted on the portal. TWO different women determined my results werent even in and that they would send me to leave a voicemail with the nurse and then call me back with a new appointment date. Of course NO callback. I had to call again this morning and the women told me my results were posted on the portal and my appointment would go as planned. I check, they were not, so I called again and the other lady said that it is there policy to not post test results until they speak to a Dr. 1. That should have been clarified four phone calls before. 2. That is withholding my medical records. 3. Sounds like a toxic way for this company to charge patients and their insurance unneeded visits because it looks good for them and their bonuses.Lastly, my appointment was less than 5 minutes long and she said nothing except that my results came back fine, no cancer, and that was all. The excuse that people will google their results -- so what that is their prerogative, do you not thing people google after the appointment? I instead had to think I had cancer for two weeks just to have a Dr. spend minutes telling me everything is actually fine and just refused to share that with me, until I pay her $96.
The office has wonderful staff, and in the instances when I’ve had health issues, have always been able to have me seen within the week. Lovely atmosphere, and the doctors are very patient and willing to answer any questions or concerns I’ve had about my feminine health.
Having been a patient of Associates In Women’s Healthcare for 10+ years it saddens me to write this review. Both Dr. Chawla and Dr. Son are incredible and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a caring provider!! However, you will come to find that you are likely to be rotated through all providers at this practice and I have not had positive experiences with any of the other providers I have seen over the years. As a healthcare worker myself I know that current times are tough. But there is no exception to treating a patient the way I was treated at my most recent visit. I have never felt more degraded and unheard by a doctor. I hope that going forward, women feel safe. I hope that women have all of their options laid out to them. I hope that women at this practice feel empowered to make their own decisions regarding their healthcare and are not cornered into making a decision the doctor sees best fit. I will not be returning or recommending Associates In Women’s Healthcare.
Dr. Moody is THE BEST! I try to see her for every appointment. She takes the time to explain everything and answers questions before they’re even asked. The nurses there are great. They’re very professional and always do an amazing job. Wait times are also on point. I’ve been coming here for about 5 years and just don’t see myself going anywhere else.
BEST OBGYN i could have switched too. i had an AWFUL experience at a previous OB office and this place was so welcoming to me. DO NOT SEE DR MCGILL! she is not friendly, extremely rude, and takes NO time for questions/concerns nor cares about how you’re doing as the patient. she’s concerned about getting out the door. Dr. Son is HANDS DOWN the best. She has been an angel for me! Deeply cares so well for her patients and makes you feel like a priority when she sees SO many on a daily. Great listener, gives great advice, straight forward, & very detailed. Dr, Mohr, Dr. Moody, Dr. Wang, & Dr. Chawla are also JUST as amazing. SO friendly & SO caring. Always so sweet. If you are looking for an OB or thinking of switching, THIS is the place to go.
Dr. McGill delivered my twins. I felt I was in the most capable of hands. She was patient with me and answered all of my questions in the appointment prior to my induction. During the delivery she was very encouraging and I really felt that Dr. McGill and the rest of the staff worked as a team.During my pregnancy, I saw all of the providers at Associates in Women’s Healthcare. I found each to have a unique manner of practice but felt comfortable with each one.The front office staff and nurses were always patient and helpful when I called with questions and concerns throughout my pregnancy.I can’t thank everyone enough for facilitating a healthy pregnancy and birth.
I went to this place for my annual check up and had an awful experience . I was sitting in the children playing room looking at the map ( all the countries in the world). An old lady came in and gestured to me to get out ( I found out later that she is Kara - the office manager there). I felt so disrespected and shocked, I wonder why she treated me like that, maybe I did not dress up or something? But this is not right and I will not want to go there again. Definitely will find a different place for obstetric.Hopefully there is someone will fix Karas rude and snobby attitude, so sad that anyone need to put up with her!
I have been with the practice since 2012 for basic GYN care as well as OB care for 3 pregnancies. My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage to which Dr Mohr handled delicately and called to follow up within a week. My next 2 pregnancies were also handled professionally and to the utmost regard to medical standards including my recent twin pregnancy. I haven’t had a bad experience with any of the doctors for GYN, OB or post natal care follow up. Love the nurses and doctors of Associates at Women’s Healthcare!
Dr. McGill is always professional, welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Everything you want in a doctor. Not only does she care for me as a woman normally but she made my pregnancy a breeze. She will always be my Doctor. All the Doctors are great that I got to know while pregnant. The front office is also great, I truly look forward to seeing them. I never dread calling to get an appointment because they are smiling through the phone and want to help. I wish this was the only Doctor’s office I ever had to visit. I appreciate the friendliness, familiarity of the staff, clean space, COVID protocol, quick but efficient overall visit time and great customer experience from the front office staff, everyone in between and especially Dr. McGill. Thanks for always making me feel confident in my decision to be your patient
Everyone I have encountered at the office, from the front office staff, to the nurses, to the doctors, are all friendly, caring, efficient, and informative. They can often get you in quickly for an appointment, like in a time sensitive situation. They have a whole group of amazing female doctors available, and Ive seen multiple doctors there, and always felt comfortable. If you are looking for a Gynecologist/OB I highly recommend this office.
I moved to the area late in pregnancy and called about an appointment. I have amazing insurance and zero complications however the receptionist was so rude to me and acted as if I was a pest. I was told they would probably not accept me as a patient after 34 weeks and that she did not have time to call and confirm receipt of my medical records. When I asked if they had a recommendation of another office in the case they did not accept me - she said she doubted anyone would take a patient this late. Thanks for being so rude Kara as it encouraged me to find another office that has been nothing but nice, helpful and comforting during my last stage of pregnancy.
My 17 year old daughter was scheduled for an appointment due to having some medical issues. A few days before my appointment I was informed that they had an unacceptable ridiculous policy that parents are not allowed in the room with their child and can only speak to the doctor through face time. It is expected and acceptable to give my daughter some privacy during the exam and to ask questions to the doctor, however she is still only 17 and does not have the experience and the ability to clearly advocate for herself and needs my support as a parent! This is an awful policy and you have to wonder why they don’t want parents to be there to advocate for their child?!!! Is it because you want to try to push and brainwash teens into taking the toxic Gardasil vaccine and toxic birth control pills without parents interfering?!!! Definitely not a practice I would trust!!!!! I canceled her appointment and found another practice that does not have an issue with parents being part of the appointment, especially if the child wants their support. Shame on you!!!!
I’ve been a patient for years now and I will never go to another Obgyn doctor. They are so friendly and truly care about your health. It’s nice to go somewhere that they know your name and ask about how you are everytime they see you. They are always willing to answer any questions you have and will also check in on you to make sure you are well. I’ve also delivered one baby with them and had an awesome experience and I am having my second this December and know it’ll be good experience as well.
All of the staff at this practice are personable and professional. The team at this practice is very on knowledgeable and take the time to really listen and address any questions or concerns. 2020 brought me several health challenges, and each time I reached out to Dr. Moody and the rest of the team treated me with compassion and exceptional medical care. The Covid precautions in the office are thorough and reasonable so I always felt safe at appointments in person. I also appreciated the convenience of the Telehealth option for simple questions.
Love having a practice that is ALL FEMALE doctors - they are wonderful, supportive, kind & the office is professional and well-run. Theyve added onsite mammography for convenience. Im VERY happy to have found this group, and I drive past many other offices to continue as a patient here!
I decided to give this place a try and made an annual appointment, and to get some blood work done. Allison Jacokes was the doctor that I was aligned with. I had test results come back abnormal, and had to get a colposcopy done. Doctor Allison Jacokes was unprofessional from the initial first appointment. She rushed the appointment, ignoring all my concerns. When I came a couple weeks later for the colposcopy, I was in the procedure room, unclothed, waiting for over an hour. The automatic lights even went off. It’s almost like they forgot I was in there. Really unacceptable on all levels considering what I was getting done. She also had a hard time getting the right biopsies, which was very painful and uncomfortable. She again seemed rushed and I was an inconvenience to her. I had to follow up many times for my results. She was suppose to follow up with me via phone, but instead posted it on the portal without any explanation. Doctor Jacokes then proceeds to leave me a voicemail explaining that she didn’t get back to me because of her personal problems in her life, in which, she EXPLAINED IN DETAIL over the voicemail (which I still have). Last thing I would like to add is that you are required to put a credit card down for any charges. Really didn’t like that at all as their possibly could be a mistake. I really don’t recommend you go here regarding women’s health. So awful. Wish I could give it 0 stars.
Recently moved to Raleigh and needed to find a new OB. I really liked my previous practice so I was nervous about finding a new office without a recommendation. I was very happy that I decided on this practice for my OB care. Their scheduling seems to be very efficient (i.e., not overbooking). Ive waited maybe 15 minutes at most for my vitals with a nurse and then maybe another 15 for the doctor. This time also includes me arriving early for my appointment. The doctors are all very nice and answer all of my questions regardless of how silly they may be. Additionally the nursing staff are very responsive to portal messages. After hour calls were returned in an unbelievably short time frame. I would highly recommend this practice.
This practice is very professional and advanced with how they handle appointment booking, billing and care. I was told that I will rotate through all the doctors throughout the course of my care so that each MD will be familiar with my pregnancy leading up to delivery. Each nurse /MD so far has their own personality and is very clearly an expert. All friendly but serious and to the point, which I prefer, after all this is about the well being of myself and my child ,nothing else.About the credit card being on file... they have an online portal where you can see any upcoming charges and you receive a separate email outlining the charge and when it will happen with plenty of time to make a changes if needed. So there is really no reason to be concerned unless you were planning on not paying in the first place....The online portal allows you to see all of the details of your previous appointments and any notes that were made by the doctor.I havent been going here too terribly long but I feel like it deserves more 5 stars! I will update if anything changes~
I’ve been going to many of the drs from Associates in Womens Healthcare since they were with Raleigh Obgyn. Dr Moore delivered my first baby & was wonderful! Dr. Moody delivered my middle child. These women are incredible doctors. Dr Jacokes is a great dr. I love the personal care these women give their patients. Grateful for an all women staff!
Dr Jessica Son is the best Gyno Dr I have ever had. She has great bed side manners, she cares about her patients and is very knowledgeable, listens to what they have to say and dont try to rush you out. Also Associates in Womens Healthcare are very punctual so be on time. I like that and would recommend this place 100%
I love Associates in Women’s Healthcare. I have been coming to this office for the last five years and my care has always been excellent. The doctors are attentive and knowledgeable. They delivered both of my children safely and gave excellent care afterwards.
Recently gave birth to my first baby and I was so pleased with the care I received from all the physicians and nurses. I felt like they cared about me and my concerns. I had an emergency at the beginning of my pregnancy and Dr. Chawla handled it so well I immediately changed to this practice from another OBGYN.
I love Dr. Cara Davis. I am very picky about my healthcare providers as I am very educated about my own health. With that, Dr. Cara is thorough and respects my needs and wants. She is easy to talk to and has a great personality. I feel very confident in her care.
ZERO STARS!!!!!!I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICEI HAD AN APPOINTMENT AND CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE DAAAAAAAAAAYS BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT AND I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CHARGED BECAUSE I DIDNT GIVE 24 HRS NOTICE WHEN I LITERALLY CALLED AND CANCELLED- NOW BECAUSE I DONT EVEN WANT TO DEAL WITH THESE THIEVES THEY ARE GIVING ME THE MOST RIDICULOUSLY HARD TIME TO GET MY RECORDS- I CAN LITERALLY SAY THEY ARE INCOMPETENT AND THE WORST PLACE TO GO IF YOU WANT GOOD CARE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE-
In general I was very happy with the level of care and the staff. The office was great and they were fast and efficient. My only issues was that when they called me back to take my blood pressure and weight, there was another patient in the same room getting their blood drawn. The nurse asked me many personal questions about my medical history, medications, the reason I was there, etc. It was very uncomfortable having to answer all of these personal questions with a patient nearby in the same room who could hear everything. It would have been nice to answer those questions in private, in an exam room or a separate room where there were no other patients. I just sucked it up and answered the questions but it was definitely uncomfortable.
I called the office with a medical emergency and I was in great need of an appointment. I just started a new job and was still figuring some things out about my insurance. The lady that I spoke to on the phone would not book me an appointment unless I had everything figured out. I told her several times it is an emergency and asked her for her help to figure this out. She was very cold and would not help me at all (even though it was something very easy to resolve, as I found out later). How can an insurance issue be more important than an emergency? Arent doctors supposed to help people in times of need? I am very disappointed with the way they handle things there, and I will definitely not seek their help again.
I receive excellent care at Associates of Womens Healthcare. For two high-risk pregnancies, one of which was twins, Dr. Jacokes and the entire staff provided me with knowledgeable medical care while remaining extremely patient and understanding with all my questions and concerns. Because I was high risk, I was in the office often, and I was always treated with respect and kindness. Despite knowing Dr. Jacokes does in fact have other patients, she has always made me feel like I am her only patient when she is with me. If you want a doctor who is knowledgeable in her field and also cares about you as a patient, I highly recommend Dr. Jacokes and the entire staff at Associates of Womens Healthcare.
I love Dr Chawla! She is always willing to answer any questions I have and shes so kind. I would recommend her any day.I am not pleased; however with some of the Medical Assistants at the practice. They never seem to be in a good mood or are no nonsense kind of people, either way when working with patience I believe its important to always be kind even if you do not feel like it.
Horrible place! With the exception of a couple folks, most of the staff are rude. DO NOT RECOMMEND! My wife and I will be leaving this facility. Yes, I say my wife and I because my wife is not a single mother. We are married and I should be able to accompany her throughout the process. The staff here need training on how to welcome patients and with people skills. Overall, we were unable to feel welcome in the facility, the overall feeling is discrimination to say the least. Thanks for the experience and lessons learned. We are certain that we will find a better facility - there are plenty around.
Ive been a patient at this practice for almost 12 years. These women have seen me through the births of all four of my children and my postpartum care. In between having children, they were a sure, consistent presence for my overall gynecological health. They are knowledgeable, kind, funny and seem to enjoy their work very much. Ive seen almost all of them, starting with Dr. Chawla, who I adore. I think it was her who delivered my last baby. Dr. Mohr delivered three of my four babies with so much care and attention and Drs. Moody, Jacokes, Gizzie and Son were wonderful in rotation as I prepared for delivery. I am looking forward to meeting the other doctors I havent had a chance to work with yet. Ive already recommended this practice to friends and family and will continue to do so. They really are a dream team for womens health!
Dr.Son makes you feel comfortable and safe. She also takes in the opportunity to care for each need and provide feedback as well as provide reputable resources, if needed. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr.Jessica Son for all of your OB-GYN care/needs. The staff is also very welcoming and helpful.
I have been going to Associates in Womens Healthcare for over 6 yrs. I found them after a friend of mine told me how wonderful they were and how kind they were before and after her diagnosis of breast cancer. I have had wonderful experiences with them since I have been going and their attention to detail helped save the life of my baby (now 3 yr. old son) when I was pregnant. They saw he was in distress, sent me to have a level 2 ultrasound and that doctor sent me straight to the hospital where I delivered my son early. Without their attention, things could have turned out differently. I am currently pregnant again and going to the same amazing doctors. I have also suggested their practice to friends (who love them as well).
The office is requiring a credit card to be kept on file for all visits. The doctors and staff are great...I have been a patient for over 11 years but I refuse to leave a credit card on file. I was given the option to either pay in full for a preventive visit or give them my credit card information. As a patient that has always been in good standings financially and as a patient coming for a preventive visit that would be covered at 100% by my insurance company, I was appalled. Unfortunately, I will not be back to this practice as long as they keep this billing policy. There is a thin line between providing patient care and dealing with billing and payments...I feel that the office is putting finances before patient care...sad.
I would NEVER go back or recommend Associates in Womens Healthcare. I lost my first baby at 5 months last year under their care. They day before I went into preterm labor I called the doctor to tell her that I wasnt feeling well and asked if I should go to the hospital. She seemed very unconcerned and told me you can go if you want to but you have an apt with us tomorrow. I lost my baby boy that night. When I called the office to notify them that I had lost my baby they were very unsympathetic and in fact the lady at the front desk told me to have a nice day. This facility is very busy and I dont think that they provide good comprehensive care. You are never assigned a specific doctor instead you are shuffled between 4 doctors. You spend more time with the nurses than the doctors. After loosing my child and going in for a follow-up visit I shared my concerns with doctor and I let her know that I thought I should have been given more guidance because this was my first pregnancy. I understand that this is all routine for them but this was my first time! I am still completely devastated over the loss of my child. I gave birth at 25 1/2 weeks. My son was alive but Wake Med would NOT put him in an incubator (they said they dont take babies under 27 weeks) so I held my child for two hours until his heart stopped beating. I blame Associates In Women HealthCare for my loss. Dont go here
Dr. Moody has been my doctor since their practice was behind Raleigh Community Hospital (now Duke Raleigh). I came in for a 2nd opinion and stayed. I only see her once year (To God be the Glory!). Her bedside manner is wonderful.
Highly recommend this practice! It was important to me to find an all female practice and I am also very happy that all of the practitioners are MDs, no worries about delivering with an on-call NP/PA/etc.I have seen Drs. Chawla and McGill most frequently and they are both wonderful. I feel comfortable discussing concerns and do not feel rushed. I did see all of the doctors throughout my pregnancy and they were all very nice, attentive, and responsive to my requests. The nurses and front desk ladies are also super sweet!
Friendly, professional and fast. The staff has a streamline approach that they have perfected over the years. Dr. Moody is the best. I am a client for life. She has performed my wellness exams and surgery over the years, I am thankful for a physician that cares and searches within her medical expertise to help the health of women. #client4life
Ive been a patient for over 8 years and have been happy with both routine care and OB care for two pregnancies. Everyone from office staff to nurses to each MD (and Ive seen them all at this point!) has been kind, respectful, and attentive.
Dr. Son is the best! She always takes her time, listens and makes sure you feel like a human, not just one of many patients she needs to fit in. Couldnt recommend her more!
I have been coming here for my annual OBGYN appointment for about 4 years now and Ive had a great experience every single time. I have had the pleasure of meeting several doctors (Dr. Chawla, Dr. Son, and Dr. Mohr) and they were all fantastic. My appointment lasts about 10 minutes and the whole experience is quick and easy. I highly recommend Associates in Womens Healthcare if you are looking for a good OBGYN.
All doctors are professional, but Dr.Jakobs is great. She is not only a doctor, but also real human and take care about everything! All staff are kind, helpful and welcoming specially Kara! We delivered our first baby with this team in Rex hospital. The team managed everything well. I would recommend this team!
Please avoid this office at all costs. They wont allow a visitor with you even if you’re pregnant because of “covid” but then go on to say its because they have patients and staff who are unvaccinated. Right off the bat, I was a little weary because of this, but decided to ignore my gut feeling since they were the only practice with no male providers.I had several horrible encounters with doctors here, WAY too many to list, but I’ll try to keep it brief. One of my biggest complaints is that they use a wrist blood pressure cuff. I have a small wrist and low blood pressure, so it would read like 53 over 0 for me every time. I would ask EVERY visit for them to please do it manually because the wrist cuff doesnt work, and they would ignore me. My final visit the nurse that came in asked if I just didnt like the wrist cuff, well it reads me as dead so...idk you tell me. Its scary because I know theyre inaccurate, and if a number came up anywhere remotely near normal, they would have written it down and moved on.My other horrible encounter I feel is worth noting is at my last appointment dr. Mcgill encouraged me to just “ take something over the counter” for mania (I have bipolar disorder, and had been manic for 3 weeks). I told her I felt like I wanted to kill myself, and she said “well, we dont like to hear that” no followup or anything. This doctor clearly has no idea what bipolar is, and was more concerned with trying to scare me with a drug test (which I don’t care about, or I wouldn’t be getting care at a private practice that demands full payment up front) than my health.I felt very strongly that my health was in bad hands after this encounter, and I switched to UNC. What a WORLD of difference. I cannot recommend this practice to anyone
I have been following Dr. Moody, Dr. Gizzie and Dr. Moor since they opened their own practice after being with Raleigh OB-GYN for many years. Dr. Moody is my primary doctor and it is always a pleasure to see her. All of the doctors are great and there are several more in the practice that I have personal friends that I have referred to this practice.
Dr. Kimberly McGill was Fantastic. She has great bed side manner and gave me insight about my treatment. She definitely exceeded my expectations. I would recommend her as well as this practice to woman seeking great service, care and treatment. Thank you!
Associate Women’s Health continues to provide exceptional service and their customer relations are extremely warm. This is so welcomed when having to deal with female issues. I’ve seen 5 of the doctors and I can say they have all provided professional and caring services. I’ve been a patient there for almost 10 yrs.
I dont write many reviews, but I saw Dr. McGill today and had to comment on how pleasant she is. She was wonderful and made sure I felt very comfortable. The office staff was extremely polite and well organized. I was in and out with bloodwork and all in less than an hour for a first time appointment. Highly recommend!! :)
One major problem is they couldn’t identify my daughter’s health issue. Second problem is after meeting with all the doctor’s, we ended up giving birth with totally new doctor who was very insensitive to our needs.
Everyone was great and warming. Made my first pap experience feel safe!
I have been a patient of the doctors of AWHC since they were Raleigh OBGYN, approximately 30 years. When the female doctors started their separate practice I had no reluctance to go with them. I have been a patient of Dr. Gizzie for probably 20 years now and I credit her with saving my life. She was proactive and aggressive in testing when I found a lump in my breast that turned out to be stage 3 cancer.I completely trust Dr. Gizzie and highly recommend the doctors of Associates in Women’s Health Care.
I normally never complain about this place until today. I have been going to this place for the last two pregnancies and I have always had a great experience with the doctors, nurses and the office staff. Today I went for my normal routine and I had the rudest nurse ever from her face expression to how she speaks to people to a point where I wanted to walk out. I decided to file a complaint with the office manger and whether they do something or not I REFUSE to be service by this nurse again.
If I could give NO STAR !! I would !! This is my first child !! On the initial questionnaire it asked when my last menstrual cycle it was in September 10th and my first ONGYN appointment was December 4th!! When I ultrasound was completed I at that time I was 8 weeks which means I conceived October 17th so that is the date I would have been expecting on documentation and ultrasounds there on out !! But every time I had an appointment following because they changed doctors each time they would I’m more far along then I was and I had to correct each doctor and nurse every time!! So this last visit I have had it I am only 12weeks and 2 days but on my ultrasound it says I am 15weeks and 4 days !!! Like what !!! And there Office have the nerves to have an attitude with me because I’ve said I want it fixed !! You going by a last menstrual that is 3 weeks off from my pregnancy!! So no I don’t want ultrasounds given with a date that is so far off that I can’t have a beautiful baby process memory with as close to accurate dates possible !! And to say they can’t change it is crazy then want you to stay calm and understanding to there error !! No way I am finding another location that will not change doctors each visit and there systems can be updated due to there error !!
Quality of care and the doctors are great - love Dr. Mohr! Had my first child with them and everything went wonderfully. Moved out of state and requested they send my medical records to my new ob-gyn. Received a letter 6 months later from a debt collector for $36 for transferring my records. I never received an invoice from their third party company they used (both had my new address) or a phone call. I called the office. It should be noted that the fact that they charge this fee is not on their website or their request for records form. They were very nice but said it really wasnt their problem. So now 3 weeks before I am to close on our new house Im dealing with a debt collector for a debt from this office. It is a real shame considering the thousands of dollars they made during my pregnancy and child birth and the people I referred to this practice. Im now fighting with their third party company to dispute this debt. Because of this I would not recommend this practice. :-\
Been going here since I moved to Raleigh from NC. Ive been super happy with choosing them and they have delivered both my babies. Especially love Dr. Chabla and Dr. Son! They are sweet and patient and very informative. Would highly recommend!
I have been a patient at Associates in Womens Healthcare for many years and would not go anywhere else. The staff is friendly yet professional. The care goes above and beyond expectations. The doctors take the time to get to know you and listen to your concerns. Highly recommend!!
Honestly cannot say nothing but good things! Thankful for the hard working and caring staff, they care and listen. All the doctors are great, but I will say Dr. Son has been the best! I have a ton of respect for her and thankful to have her as my doc!
Dr.McGill is awesome she is patient understanding and she listens. She also tries to explain everything in detail and she is thorough. And the nursing staff and other team members are very nice and sweet people. I recommend this office to anyone looking for obgyn.
I am currently about 5-6 weeks pregnant with my first child. I called to schedule my first pregnancy appointment with this office (I’ve seen Dr. Moody before, she is great) & the lady on the phone couldn’t even say congratulations! She just started listing off dates and times available & proceeded to be obviously annoyed when nothing she was listing worked for me. Why do I want to go somewhere that isn’t even nice to me after I just found out i’m pregnant?!I tried to get over it but when I called back to ask if my husband could come, they said no, all women must come alone. It’s important to note that most other doctors offices are allowing the fathers to come to at least 3 appointments. I did not get pregnant alone and I do not want to do this alone. I understand Covid restrictions but keeping track of the amount of people in the building is a really easy task. I’m disappointed.
My wife and I had our 1st baby here. While the Drs are acceptable they seem disengaged and quite frankly a little old and seem to be going through the motions. The younger/ newer Drs seemed to have a little more zeal about their job. When we first went they tried to push genetic screening super hard ie asking literally 20 times if we were sure we didnt want it. The nursing and ultrasound techs are better and the best part of the practice in our experience. The worst part is by far the office side. No communication and forget trying to get fmla, short term disability or other paperwork filled out in a timely manner( or at all without having to call back 2-3 times or reprinting it for them). Over all just very poorly mismanaged and once they have all your money everything else is ancillary. This place may have been good at one point but I think they have enough patients now that just being mediocre is acceptable to them. Its up to you if its acceptable to you.
My wife went in for her 39 week checkup before delivery today. All of a sudden the doctor expressed concern over the babys size (being possibly on the larger scale) and wanted to schedule an ultrasound ASAP - it took them several hours to let us know they only have 1 appointment available in the next 13 days. My issues are - apparently per the doctor today theyve known our child is on the larger size since an ultrasound at 33 weeks but they NEVER communicated this to us (even when directly asked). Communication was never their strong suit before COVID hit, but it has only gotten worse. We will be switching to a different practice as soon as possible after the baby is here.
The staff is very nice and welcoming. This was my first visit with Dr. Kimberly McGill and she was absolutely amazing. She made me feel very comfortable and was very informative.
It’s always both professional and a personal bedside experience with caring providers. They are all talented and engaging with exceptional knowledge. I highly recommend these women and having had two children with this practice I have interacted with all of them.
I think when you are a healthcare provider, the practice should be very friendly and inviting, this place was not the case. Each time I went I felt like every one that worked there hated their job. They did not make me feel welcome at all and the nurses had bad attitudes and hardly ever made eye contact with me. I had just found out I was pregnant and was very excited and had plenty of questions. They acted like they did not want to answer questions or that they even cared. The only Dr. that made me feel welcome and was always very nice was Dr.Chawla. I decided to change to a different practice. One that if I was going to pay a ton of money for care from them, they at least appreciated me. After I transferred out it took months for them to process my refund, which was not the correct amount given back to me. Again, with the worst attitudes. When you owe them money they will call you every day, if they owe you, plan on being put on the back burner because they do not care! I felt like I needed to write this because I have been working in the healthcare field for almost 20 years and I would never treat my patients this way!
They are horribly unprofessional and do not listen to your concerns unless you have the worlds best insurance and want to pay for every extra thing they can get out of you. Completely dissatisfied with them. The staff are so unconcerned with any of your questions. I had my first pregnancy there and had a ton of excitement and questions and they all just treated me like they wanted me to just hurry up and hush. I felt rushed, you shouldnt feel rushed by your doctor. All the doctors always seemed to have one foot out the door when I had an appointment. The front counter staff are short tempered and unknowledgable and rude. They dont return calls when they say they will and its aggravating. I do not recommend AIWHC unless you want a headache and lots of frustration.
All doctors especially Dr. Moody, Dr,Jakobs and Dr. Mohr are very professinal and very nice. Staffs are also very nice and helpful. I delivered my son 6 month ago under supervision of the doctors in Associates In Womens Healthcare. I am really satisfied of them and I recommend this center to others.
Associates In Womens Healthcare is a wonderful place with great doctors. Dr. Chawla has always been great in all aspects related to my health. I would and do highly recommend this group of doctors.
I have been a patient of dr jacokes for about 12 years. I was a teen with health concerns and she has always been very patient and explains everything so you understand it. Was pregnant 3 years ago and was pleased with my prenatal care. I had a scare early in my pregnancy and they brought me right in and checked me and my son and put my mind at ease. Dr moody delivered my son and she was amazing as well. I was seen by all the drs in the office while pregnant and overall happy with their services. I hate to see such negative comments. I havent had an issue with them at all in 12 years. I hate seeing drs but they make the visits as comfortable as possible.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Moody for over 12 years, she is the best OB-GYN I could ever ask for.I highly recommend them to any Ladies looking for a great Doctor & a healthy environment! All of the staff is there for you, they are someone you can actually COUNT ON!!
I have followed Dr. Allison Jacokes to several offices, over the last 25 years, she was my Ob/Gyn when I was pregnant with both my children. She always listens to any questions or concerns. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring Ob/Gyn.
I am so dissapointed in some of my experiences with this group, that if I wasnt so far along, I would look into a different place to go. I love that it is all women and they use Rex. They were my dream come true. This morning, however, really put an extra sour taste in my mouth, after a few other rude encounters. I am on my third child, so I feel fairly knowledgeable in the pregnancy area - but I still listen to everything that is told/suggested to me. I was not told by Associates in Womens Healthcare that I needed to get a permission slip to get my teeth cleaned, so when I was at the dentists this morning and was told that it is standard procedure to get a permission note, I was a bit shocked. I figured a simple phone call to the health group to get one faxed over would be a cinch....until a very rude receptionists pratically refused to help my dental provider. The receptionist said that it was my fault that I was not prepared and that she will get to it when she can. Needless to say, after a 45 minute wait, I had to reschedule my appointment - causing me to take even more time off work. I dont feel like this was MY fault at all, especially when I was not told I would need permission. From my understanding, a women is typically pregnant for 9 months, teeth cleanings are usually scheduled for every 6 months.....the math... the common sense to advise.....where did I go wrong? I was told no x-rays, I wasnt told special permission for teeth cleaning. I know this might seem like a petty thing to be upset over, but blaming a patient for wrong doing, not being willing to help in a timely fashion, and making a dental assistant feel so offended that it left her at a lose for words.....that says something. The doctors have all seemed great so far, and I feel good about them......it is my interactions with the front desk that are 0 for 4 so far.
I have gone to Doctor Moody for over 23 years and always been very satisfied with the care and attention that I have received. She is wonderful Dr. always very caring and concerned. Thank you so much Dr. Moody!Blessings to all!!! (awesome staff)
I am intensely disappointed in your services. While you may be excellent at handling OB patients I will never know. I am an example on how your practice handles women with Gyno concerns poorly. I continue to have painful symptoms, cramping and irregular periods despite your advise to have an ablation. From the first appointment in 2017 when I came in due to pain and heavy bleeding to now you have mismanaged my care. Putting me on numerous medications which have caused me weight gain and hair loss which you claimed was because I am getting older and do not exercise enough or eat well; which is so not true as I exercise 5-6 times a week and eat healthy. To having appointment mishandled and me seeing a different doctor repeatedly, like my post op appointment with Dr. Moody and not Dr. Son. It goes on and on. Recently I went to my PCP who requested my records from you which she says clearly shows I have the signs of Adenomyosis. Which explains my pain, my feeling of my belly getting bigger and my bleeding. You never even considered this due to you not caring about actually taking the time to help me. You did a pap smear in January even though I refused. I said no and you did it anyway. You put me through more than a year of pain, doctors appointments, unhelpful medications and a unnecessary surgery, not to mention the emotional and financial position you have put me in. In the future I am hopeful you will slow down, consider the person in the room that needs your help desperately and do not assume you know the answer prior to talking to the person in the room.
Associates in Womens Healthcare is a great OB/GYN facility. Dr. Mohr is fantastic! She has excellent bedside manners and always works with the patients in any way possible to address issues. Highly recommend.
Dr. Mohr and Dr. Chawla is the two doctors I see. I imagine that all of them are great but these two Drs. take out the time to assess and get to know you. It is always great when they walk in my room and know me by name and remember me. They are so patient and kind. On my most recent visit I saw Dr. Mohr. She explains everything so well I felt so good after I left. Both of these Drs. are so wise and experts on what they do not to mention the great follow-up they do with you. I would recommend them to anyone.
Do not go here! All they are interested in is your credit card, not your health. As a new transplant to NC, I was referred here by my PCP. I showed up on time with my health insurance card and ID and they want to keep a credit card number on file for anything that insurance doesnt cover. What???? Is that even legal? I refused to give them that information, so they refused to see me. These are shady business practices and very discriminatory. I dont use credit to pay for my medical expenses, and what if I didnt have a credit card? Then...Im not worthy of being a patient there? I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and my attorneys about these people. Its just not right.
I have been a patient at this office for about 6 years. I have always had a positive experience here. They are attentive, empathetic, and efficient. Dr. Jacokes is wonderful, patient and an excellent doctor.I highly recommend this office. If youre in Apex or Cary its worth the drive!
Dr. Jacokes and the entire staff at Associates in Womens Healthcare are outstanding! They are all very kind and thoughtful and take the time needed to listen and provide comfort and care. I love Associates in Womens Healthcare! 5 stars!
I have been a patient at Associates In Womens Healthcare since it opened its practice. The physicians and staff have always been very professional and respectful. Dr. Moody and Dr. Gizzie were especially helpful during some difficult times in the past and I will always be grateful for their support.I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years and have experience with 3 other ob-gyn practices and this practice made me more comfortable and I know I was being cared for with very knowledgable and well educated physicians and staff.I would highly recommend Associates In Womens Healthcare for anyone who wants to be a patient with a caring, efficient and highly competent ob-gyn practice.
Ive been seeing Dr. Moody for years, shes great! I rarely have to wait long to be seen and the exams are always thorough but fast. She knows what shes doing and shes easy to talk to.
I am so thankful for Associates in Womens Healthcare!!Ive experienced each Dr. and appreciate all their expertise through each phase of my life, especially when i felt like no one else seemed to understand what i was going through. Ive felt like I was heard; as long as I COMMUNICATED what my concerns were.
I was a patient there for a few years, became pregnant and needed to look into transferring closer to my home city. I was in the process of looking for new ob care and had records sent to a clinic in Burlington that I could never get back in touch with so of course I decided to go elsewhere. In the mean time i had an appt set with associates in womens health for my 12wk check and I was told to call them if I got all set with a new clinic and needed to cxl. The dr. Specifically told me to make this appt in case I didnt get set up with the new clinic. However I called today to confirm only to find out the front desk cancelled my appt. Said that once records are sent they figured I transferred. I said well no I wont be goin to that clinic can you just reschedule me an appt then? To which she says no. Says Im no longer in their care and cant even be scheduled. So Im without a 12 wk appt due to some Administrative mess. No one ever called to say my appt was being cancelled and I damn sure never called them to cancel it. Now Im just stuck with no 12 week check up and Amanda at the front desk could care less. Also when I was 8 weeks I had to call the hotline for some spotting and the dr said well worst case its a miscarriage and theres nothing we can do about that right now anyway. So I was already not fond of their ob care already Needless to say I will not be coming back for reg care either.
Im a patient of 7 years. I had my son with this practice. They used to be very organized and wait time was minimum and the doctors very caring! There is a big difference now, 2 hr wait time for a doc to show up while you are 9 months pregnant! My poor friend who was pregnant with twins had to leave the room since she couldnt wait any longer!I kept asking for Ultrasound since I wasnt feeling good and one of the doc told me you can go to the hospital for that.... long story short, I was misdiagnosed now at 36 weeks we are not sure if the baby is OK! If that is a case which I will find out soon I MIGHT take a legal action.I defiantly dont come back here nor recommended to anyone!!! Big disappointment!!
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Mohr since 1988, before I got married. She is always professional, kind, and informative. She takes time with you and listens to any concerns. I would highly recommend her!
No one likes going to the gyno... but its really uncomfortable when you feel like a conveyor belt of moving women in and out as quickly as possible. The room was cold, the speculum exam shouldnt hurt but it did, and I told them I have been with my husband since my last STD testing and didnt need another. A routine, insurance covered, checkup turned in a $200+ bill because they just didnt listen or communicate what what was all happening while down there.I am new to the area and was looking for someone I liked to eventually have as my obgyn and my concerns were not listened to now, so cannot imagine if I had a baby...
Dr Jacokes is a great listener and cares about her patients. I like the fact they care enough to provides air machines in the waiting area and the patient rooms. Dr Jacokes has a great bedside manner & I would definitely refer her to others
I have been a patient of Dr. Mohr for over 20 years. She always takes time to answer any questions I may have. I never feel rushed. The front desk people and the nurses are courteous and professional.
I have been a patient of Dr Allison Jacokes for 2 decades. She is very professional, caring & thorough! I have recommended her & her practice to many women! Thank you for providing such great care to our community Dr Jacokes!
Throughout my pregnancy and delivery, this practice was great. Especially the ultrasound technician, Tracy. However, I have been EXTREMELY disappointed in the post partum care I received. I went back there 4 times (within 4.5 months) to receive help with my post partum depression/anxiety and was let down every time. I felt that I was just another patient with some baby blues. The response I received was very textbook and generic. Not only that, but they totally screwed up my medications- told me to stop taking an anti-anxiety medication that I was on and start taking a (extremely low dose) of another drug. Turns out, you cant just stop taking the drug I was on (Effexor), you must be weaned off of it. Because I was misinformed by my Dr there, I suffered severe withdraw...terrifying nightmares, sweating, extremely emotional. Thankfully this all occurred over the weekend when my husband was home. You always hear how important it is to reach out and seek help if you are suffering from post partum depression/anxiety which is what I did, however I feel that this practice failed me immensely on this front. I will NOT be returning, nor will I be recommending this practice to anyone.
I had my yearly appointment with Dr. Jacokes and as always, I left a happy patient. I was seen rather quickly (by doctors office standards) and the doctor not only answered all my questions but was also offered suggestions and tips on how to stay healthy. Ive been a patient here for years and think Dr. Jacokes is a compassionate and thorough doctor.
My doctor, Allison Jacokes, is very good. She is thorough, listens to your concerns and is not rushed. She has been my doctor for several years and I feel very comfortable with her.I highly recommend Dr. Jacokes.
Associates in Womens Healthcare have been my provider since 2002, delivering my two boys in 2003 and 2006. I still visit my #1 provider for all my womans needs. 10 stars to the staff and physicians (Dr. Jacokes, especially).
Dr. Moody was rude to me when I asked for my FMLA papers to be filled out she got loud with me and refused to do research with her colleagues before telling me a flat out NO because she wasnt the Dr. who had seen me. She was not kind at all. I had to get snappy with her to get the job done and it was by Dr. Son not her. The whole conversation was just rushed as if she could care less. I never saw her after that I REFUSED. On the upside of it I really like Dr. Chawla and Dr. Son they really listened to me and seems as if they really care about my pregnancy.
Dr. Allison Jacokes is a fantastic GYN, she was very practical but thorough; She took her time to listen and address my concerns and is a professional with ample experience. I recommend her if you are looking for a OBGYN doctor.
I love this practice. All the physicians are superb and the staff is very nice and accommodating. Every time I called and I had to go for an emergency they got me in right away. I specially like the fact that it is an all women practice. Thank you!!!
Fail... its been about over a year since Ive been to this place..but I think often about the money I wasted and my current avoidable situation..used them for maybe two years..always complained about lower belly pain...was usually told no everything is ok..then I was told to see a gastroenterologist. I was also told I had endometriosis once but no concerns was ever given and it wasnt true..I needed progesterone to possibly get pregnant at the time as well but that info was given as I walked to the front desk to make another appointment.. I now have a fibroid that is the size of a softball that should have been cought..I would have probably still been there being lied to... they didnt take my new insurance..that was a blessing in disguise
The doctors are fine but their billing practices are beyond horrible. They require a credit card up front and bill howvever they choose. Once they do, good luck getting billing on the phone to fix it. Office staff is rude. My two daughters and I used to go there. They delivered my son 13 years ago but I’m done. I will never go there again nor anyone else in my family.
I have gone to this OB/GYN practice for over 10 years. Ive seen every doctor in this practice and they are all excellent. All nurses and staff are friendly and helpful. They get patients in and out quickly. I would highly recommend to anyone.
I love this practice if I HAVE to go to one annually. Very efficient and friendly staff. Dr. Jacokes has been very understanding. I love that I can also do my mammogram and pap in one location. One stop shop!
I was a patient here for over 10 years and recently was asked to provide a credit/debit card on file. This was presented to me as an optional thing. But during a recent appointment (I opted not to provide them with my debit/credit card information), I was told that I would have to pay in full for a procedure that my insurance covered. When I continued to opt out of providing this information - they told me if I did not pay for the procedure in full that I would have to cancel my appointment. It is not MANDATORY that a patient provide their doctors office with a blank check to debit their account or credit card as they see fit for charges that you may need to dispute. This same practice filed this procedure with my insurance company twice before without issue (but a friend of mine had the same procedure and also has the same insurance was billed for the same process). That friend had to dispute the charges, and wait several weeks for them to work out the billing issue [someone selected the wrong code] and get their money back.I am no longer a patient with this office.
Wow, where to begin... My experience with AIWH has been overall horrible. As a young person not going through a pregnancy, I have been going to AIWH for the past 2 years for my annual appointments. When I started having health problems, I was told to come back every 4 months. I have been through 4 procedures and still receiving bad test results after each one. When I ask for an explanation, no one seems to have one. And no one seems concerned. On the business side, it is probably the worst staff I have ever dealt with. I (like another reviewer) have cried in the front office because they were rude to me in a stressful situation. Im looking for a second opinion now with one of the top rated doctors in the state and now had to cancel my appointment because AIWH wont fax my files over - even though I had given them a full weeks notice that I had a new doctor and new office. They showed no concern and referred me to a 1-800 number. This is the tip of the iceberg with my frustration with AIWH but I hope it is enough to encourage you to keep looking for an OBGYN office for your needs.
Love this practice and especially my ob/gyn, Mary Frances Moody. I have been a patient here for over 10 years. Staff is polite, friendly and competent; I highly recommend Associates in Womens Healthcare.
These ladies delivered my babies and have provided excellent care for me for 20+ years. Dr. Mohr genuinely listens to you and I never feel rushed along. For the first time, I had my mammo there as well and was literally in and out in ten minutes! A big thank you to BONNIE RAY who made it the most enjoyable (if you can say that) mammo I ever had. She was lively, fun and just a joy to be around.
I have been going to Associates in Womens Healthcare for the past several years now and I have always received great service there. The staff are always kind, and the nurses and doctors treat me very well during each visit.
Dr. Mohr has been my physician for many years, and she is absolutely wonderful. She takes her time to talk with you and explain what is going on. And, she keeps up-to-date with what is going on with my health.
This practice isnt even deserving of 1 star... From my 35 years of healthcare expience, AIWH is by far the worst! Initially, I receiced a demand notice in the mail that I pay $1,200 upfront, to cover my co-pays... Upon my next visit, they demanded I pay an additional $200+ to cover an ultrasound performed during that visit. The office staff screwed up my insurance which caused it to cancel and demanded I pay everything out of pocket! During my final visit the Phlebotomist took a blood sample for my standard glucose test and when she went to remove the needle, she yanked it up and out and sliced my arm. I expressed my concerns to the Ofc Mgr and she refused to follow up with me concerning my care/service/and treatment.Pros - short waitCons - if youd like to be treated like merchandise coming off of an assemble line, this practice is for you! smh
Dr Jackoes is amazing! I love this place. All of the Drs made me feel so comfortable. I had my baby boy a little over a year ago and I cannot wait to use them again for my others in the future. Thank you so much Associates in Womens Healthcare!!!!!
Have been going to AWH for a few years now--and, am happy to be doing so. Its a smallish practice and has a friendly, family feel to it. They are accommodating and try to work with you, to help. But, the best thing I can say about them is that the staff is made up of Real People. I can make little jokes, talk about whats on my mind and they get it. The MDs & RNs are straight talkers (in a gentle way), dont confuse things or talk down to me. The worst thing I can say about this place is that for 2 years now I have been feeding the suggestion box with my idea that they have a parking lot-block party come Spring. So far, they have not done so. But, its the kind of place that the suggestion of a party seems like it would be a natural fit for them. Now, they just need to see that it IS a good idea.
Dr. Chawla always took the time to sit down with me and break things down for me to create a solid plan of care for me. My c-section delivery was nothing but the best experience ever! Dr. Chawlas nurse is also so personable. I also LOVE that Dr. Chawla and her nurse run on time!!!
Visited this office for the first time in October 18 after not having my period for about 3-4 months. Was just given medicine to chemically start my period, some blood work, an ultrasound and sent on my way, with no explanation of what could be causing it.Went back a year later for a yearly exam with the same doctor, and she says “oh yeah I see here you have PCOS”. The doctor I saw never gave me a diagnosis but I guess wrote it down on my chart? I proceeded to tell her I was never informed of that fact, to which she replied “well you don’t have any other symptoms so I wasn’t sure”. She never asked me about any symptoms or problems I might be having. I lost an entire year where I could have been taking a treatment or made a change to deal with my PCOS. I was then sent on my way with a “you need to lose weight”, no information on what PCOS is or how to make it better. Turns out it affects your insuline, making you gain weight even without over eating (among many other things).Thank God I found a doctor who actually listened and asked questions, answered mine and found me a treatment that’s helping me fix these issues. Won’t be going back to that first doctor for sure.
I had a horrible experience here. I was there for over an hour and left with absolutely no information. They told me over the phone they accept Medicaid and I wait 2-3 weeks for my appointment and they tell me they are not accepting new Medicaid patients so I paid $283 did nothing!! So upset i cried as soon as I left out of stress. Please don’t go here. Keep looking for a OBGYN.
This office is wonderful! Dr. Son is so professional and actually spends time with you. My sister in law did all of her OB stuff through this office and actually recommended them to me. I will be here for a long time!
I have been a patient with this office for about 6 years. I love my doctor, Dr. Chawla. She is the best and I also like the other associates. If i need anything after hours, they are there to help. Even the front desk staff is great and friendly. Dr. Chawla is awesome.
I recommend this practice to any woman that is looking for a reliable OB/GYN. I have known Dr. Mohr, Dr. Gizzy and Dr. Moody for over 20 years. They provided my prenatal care for all 5 of my children. They take time to listen to your concerns and make you feel like more than just a patient.
The staff are always professional and understanding of the uncomfortable situation we are in. The medical staff are through and provide great open conversations. I enjoy that talking to women about their health is all this office does!
Covid-19 delayed me in setting an annual appointment my available time has been tough.Dr. Son is AWESOME.......She is patient, knowledgeable and genuinely cares.
The receptionist was very nice. The office was clean. Dr. Chawla was very pleasant. She took time to ask questions and asked if I had any questions. It was my first visit to this office/doctor and it was a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Chawla.
Everyone is always friendly. The atmosphere is great. The doctors I have seen do a great job of explaining what is going on with you and offer solutions for you. The receptionists are friendly and laugh and joke with you.
All the staff are wonderful to work with. Dr. Moody makes a point to get to know her patients and make them comfortable during the exam.
Great group of women who take quality care of their patients! Have had a great overall experience from basic gyno to OB care with both of my children. Love this place.
Dr. McGill and Dr. Moody are fantastic! These ladies take time to listen to their patients and offer viable solutions. I highly recommend either of these ladies for your care.
I have been coming to this group for 6 years and they are great. They delivered my son and helped with all the infertility issues I had. I have recommended them to many of my friends!
The staff and physicians at this practice are very caring and provide good advice and direction. During my appointment, all staff, physicians, and patients observed social distancing and everyone was wearing a mask.
Dr. Mohr is a true pleasure. My visits are spot on above and beyond for health care! Keep up the great work ladies! Smooth front desk chek in, starts the awesome finish!
Dr Son is awesome! She has a great bedside manner and she is so smart. She made a highly complicated delivery go smoothly for me and I had no issues. Excellent !!😍😍
I love this office. Dr Mohr is very attentive. She has actually been the one that calls me instead of the nurse to give me test results etc. I am very satisfied with her office and all of the employees I have had interaction with.
Im a new patient who was referred to this place. As of right now, I feel like its pulling teeth to get information about my checkups. I guess Im used to Dr.s coming into the room and going over any and all tests that were done and explaining anything you dont understand instead of giving you pamphlets. I cant help but feeling rushed here.
I Love JESSICA SON & Kimberly McGill , The Other Doctors I Can Say I Only Met W/3 ... 2 Out Of The 3 Are Amazing When I Had Any Issues In Regards To My Pregnancy They Made Sure They Made The Best Moves For Me & My Baby ; My Csection Scar Also Looks Amazing And I’m Glad Dr Son Put Me Back Together so Well Also If You Have Any Questions Use The Patient Portal You Get Your Questions Answered Quickly Instead Of Waiting For A Call Back
Great experience and great care. I have been a patient of Dr. Moodys for over twenty years. I am very satisfied with her professional knowledge and care!
So far, all of my interactions with the doctors and staff have been incredibly pleasant. Dr. Son is receptive and listens to all of my female health concerns.
Love this practice!! I seen all of the physicians during my pregnancy. Dr. Jacokes delivered my baby and she did an awesome job. They are also my primary gyno.
Dr. Son made me feel at ease. Answered each and every question i asked. She is very caring and calming. Front desk is also very welcoming and nice.
Dr Chawla is hands down the best medical professional I have ever had. She makes me feel extremely comfortable, she listens to my concerns and provides adequate feedback.
Wonderful practice! I have been a patient for over 14 years. The doctors, nurses and staff are friendly and attentive.
The minute you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. I was treated with like a person and not just a body. Dr.Jacokes is great!
This was my first gyno visit. Saw Dr. Nan Wang and she was communicative, professional, and friendly. Felt very safe.
I truly appreciate the efficiency of scheduling my annual check up along with my mammogram. The staff are always friendly and Dr. Jacokes is an excellent physician.
I had an appointment scheduled and when I arrived they informed me that I was not on the calendar for today. Instead I was scheduled at a different date and time. I had a hand written appointment card from their staff with todays date and time. They said that when they made the appointment they must have wrote down another persons time. However, I specifically made this appointment knowing I would be off work. Now, I have to take another day off work and go to different appointment. I dont think so!!!
I have been going to this practice for over 20 years. This appointment I scheduled with Dr. Chawla and I was very pleased with her attentiveness. I would definitely recommend Dr. Chawla for your obgyn needs.
I have always recommended Assoc. in Womens Healthcare to all my friends and family members and have been thanked by the ones that now go to them. My children were delivered by them and now my daughter goes to them.
Women who answered the phone was rude. I called to make an appointment and explained my desperate, dangerous situation. She rudely cut me off and asked about my insurance. I hung up. I refuse to give this place any money.
My visits to the associates in womens health were great. I felt welcomed and Dr. Moody was very kind and thorough.
Love this practice! They are always wonderful. The entire staff is friendly, professional, patient and kind. I am so happy I found them. Thank you- keep being awesome!
Dr. Moody has taken care of me for years. I feel very comfortable in the support for my health given over the yeats.
Dr. Jacokes is the best GYN Ive had. She really listens and works with you to make sure you are healthy and happy.
Dr. Mohr has provided outstanding care for me for 20+ yrs. She is both knowledgeable and personable....so thankful for her dedication to her profession.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Jacokes for about 4 years now. She’s a wonderful doctor and a pleasant person to talk to. The staff has always been super helpful and fast to respond.
I have been with this practice since at least 2006 and I absolutely adore them. They always take the very best care of me and address concerns promptly. I couldn’t imagine ever changing practices.
