Had an IUD insertion here quite a long time ago and it was fine! Decent wait time, friendly enough staff, and the care felt comprehensive and nice. Im so grateful to have Planned Parenthood in our community.
I have been coming to this location instead of other, closer ones since i was 16 & im 21 now. Everyone here is very friendly while still being exceptionally professional. They will go out of their way for you. The woman with the pixie cut at the front desk has been here since i can remember and she is always so helpful & has been so nice to me. The nurse I always get, i believe her name is Amber, is a class act and she has helped me through some very trying times in my life. Even though I probably talk her ear off she never shuts me down & is always receptive and so gracious. I love this location over other ones, I drive 30 minutes to come here rather than ones that are 10 mins away.
I ended up going to the wrong office but in the brief time that I spent at this office every person I made contact with, the gentleman at the door and the three ladies at the reception desk downstairs all gave the warmest greeting and pitched in to help point me in the right direction. One of the ladies even taking a moment to ensure the correct office would still see me all while using my preferred pronouns! I was a nervous wreck about my appointment and would have probably not gotten the courage to come back another day without this type of welcome and support. This group understands a what it means to create an inclusive judgment free space to help those afraid of stigma (like myself) still get care. Thank you all!
Lies from receptionist and nurses about price certain tests, It wasnt even close to what i was charged when i got the bill. Called about it and was met with extreme rudeness by the same receptionist (assumably) then ignored by the billing departement and was sent to collection.
I have a family member currently without insurance and unable to get their prescribed birth control. Traditional Dr offices were not accommodating or friendly with the lack of insurance. We called Planned Parenthood and explained the situation. They advised that some of their locations currently had a grant where birth control could be obtained at no charge and they gave us the locations. This location is one of them.We set an appointment and family member asked me to go with them. The appointment went great from the time we arrived. There is a full security check here so be prepared for that. It was pretty easy.Once we entered their office an employee assisted us right away. They took patient through all the paperwork and the process.I sat in for a portion of the appointment with the medical professionals and was highly impressed. One of the first things they asked was if the person wanted me in the room - I love this for the patient! The person did want me there, so I stayed. They went through medical history, reason for visit and options. Everyone was thorough with options and effects.Family member was able to obtain birth control on that same day and felt so much relief. At their regular Dr office they had been going to they were told the appt alone could be $250+ and that the birth control could be $1000 or more...If you are hesitant, I would encourage you to visit this location. Every person we encountered was friendly, informative and patient. We felt very comfortable.
I came in extremely anxious, and Dr. Baum, along with the rest of the staff, eased my anxiety. Everyone was so kind, caring, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire visit.
I was at one of the lowest points in my life when I came here. A decision to end a life was not easy. I was addicted to heroin. I got knocked up by a john that I had sex with for 20 dollars for a fix. I was chronically homeless at 22 years old and severely physically addicted to opiates. I was not bringing a little baby into that life in North St.Louis off Salisbury. So I panhandled the money for the abortion on the McKinley bridge for 8 hours a day, refusing to sell my body at that point, ashamed and lost. I was a couple days off from being too far in term to abort. I felt my baby.I will be forever grateful for the staff here. They made me feel comfortable and never judged me. I am happily sober 9 years, but unfortunately from complications from mirena (nothing from this location or operation), I am not able to have children
Update: So I had my hysterectomy surgery yesterday and I couldnt be happier. All other doctors would not listen to me when I told them I was in serious pain and I knew the endometriosis came back and sure enough I was right it did come back but thanks to Planned Parenthood and Dr.Baum I will no longer be in pain., I want to note that this location is open Monday through Saturday and not just Wednesday, someone had changed there hours and there trying to get it fixed. The moment me and my mom arrived the receptionist was friendly, we only waited in the waiting room for 15-20min and I was taken back to a room and after 5min the surgeon came in to discuss with me getting a hysterectomy and everything went smoothly. The surgeon was friendly and had answers to all my questions. All in all it was a smooth, easy visit and Im very happy I went here. Once I have my surgery I will be updating my review. I have been to this planned parenthood before and both other times Ive been here they have been friendly and professional.
My only negative experience was with the gentleman working at the entrance being quite rude. He should not be employed around those settings. All throughout the check in process he kept a scowl on his face. He didn’t even say “hi” before blurting out instructions. No thank yous, no niceties. No manners. The receptionist was super sweet.
Everything about my experience at this location was perfect! It was easy to call and make an appointment and every single person I encountered in the clinic was so incredibly nice and helpful. All the staff I spoke to were happy to help and answer any questions I had, and though we all had to wear masks, you could tell everyone was smiling just by their eyes and voices. It was a comforting and happy environment. Plus, they were incredibly accommodating and understanding and helped me keep my costs little to none. I will absolutely be coming back for any future needs.
The front desk staff two wonderful ladies was extremely nice and friendly. But when we got in the back it was a different story. I took my teenage daughters there to discuss and get birth control. The older lady medical assistant was a bit rude. Birth control can be a touchy topic between mother and daughter and her compassion was completely nonexistent. Our experience would’ve been better if they had more compassionate staffs members when dealing with sensitive issues.
Great service and friendly staff. The NP was really great!!! Very caring. I felt respected, comfortable and not rushed. Care was explained thoroughly , questions answered and options offered. People think of abortions when talking PP but they ignore the wide range of women health issues they address. Excellent care. I will definitely return.
Always so incredibly kind and helpful. I needed to figure out what birth control was best for my lifestyle and the nurse and nurse practitioner took time to answer every question and work through every concern with me. The receptionist helped figure out kinks in my insurance and was just incredibly helpful. The guard was so calm and helped me get to the right place. The patient care here is incredible.
I got my routine STI screening done here. I only had to wait one minute in the waiting room before they saw me. Staff were all warm, friendly and polite. I am queer, and I found that the way they asked questions about my reproductive health were very respectful of my sexual orientation. I told them I had a fear of needles, so the nurse was very sweet and comforting when she had to draw my blood.
I had an appointment at 11:40. I checked in 5 minutes late because I got lost. When I got there, there was only one other patient. I waited for over 2 hrs to be seen. Everyone in the downstairs clinic was so so so very rude. They tried multiple times to get out of seeing me. When the nurse practitioner came in, she was nothing short of horrible to me. She treated me absolutely awful. She spoke to me as though I was not even human. I specifically made the appointment to get a pap because I have been having symptoms and a family history of cervical cancer. This nurse practitioner acted like my fears were stupid. She made me feel like I was a complete waste of her time. She also, tried over and over to not give me a pap. She told me if my results came back abnormal there was no rush to do anything. Im not kidding, you read that correctly. She actually told me that if my pap results came back abnormal that it was no big deal and I didnt have to rush to seek further treatment! When I told her my mother and aunt both had cervical cancer, she said cervical cancer isnt hereditary and that it doesnt matter that they had cervical cancer, it has nothing to do with me. Even though I am having many of the same symptoms they had before they had to have radical hysterectomys. I could not for the life of me, believe what was coming out of her mouth. I called my primary doctors office (who doesnt do paps which is why I went here) and spoke with the nurse and then my doctor. My doctor was absolutely appalled by what she had said.I paid about 150 dollars for a pap smear. I was treated awful by the downstairs staff. From the receptionist to the nurse practitioner. The only person who was nice was the medical assistant. Seriously considering reporting that nurse practitioner. Im awaiting my results still. I was told I would have them in a week.
Went in to get some tests done for the first time, was told without insurance that it would be 78$ so i paid it. Then when it came time to get the results, they sent me another 364$ bill from quest diagnostics. I called this Planned Parenthood back to ask why and i was met with some a negative attitude on the other side of the phone. Whoever worked that day are some liars.
They provide an awesome array of services. It was the staffing that gave them this low rating. The white secretary, (excuse me for using that description but i didnt get her name in which i should have) violated HIPPA law & discriminated me against services. First when i got she asked for my insurance card then started speaking loudly about my insurance plan like i had a fake card & the guy next to her told her not to worry just get me checked in for my services. Then after she called me up to the desk asking me personal questions that they are supposed to ask in the back, like when was your last testing service and what was your results. So after I told her(while feeling uncomfortable talking about these things in lobby/waiting area where other people are present and can hear) she tells me well, its not suggested you take another test/screening this soon but if you want us to do something else we can. That overall experience was not comfortable, I don’t think she should be in the health field and she representing this company in a bad way/ a lawsuit waiting to happened.
Thankful that this clinic continues to provide a much needed safe haven for women who are seeking to end their pregnancies. I have gone for various services over the years and have been met with nothing but kindness and professionalism every time Ive been. Theyve never been pushy and very open to answering questions that you may have. The only downside is the protestors that are sometimes out front. I wish they would be as passionate about actual kids in stl that live in poverty instead of taking away womens reproductive rights. Instead, they continuously choose to support candidates that want to cut family social security nets and shame women whenever they have a chance.
The staff is incredibly helpful and did not discriminate in anyway. Youll feel safe and welcomed with any questions youd have answered for the most part. They do take walk ins but Id HIGHLY suggest you make an appointment right away to get the best time for you and maybe even the earliest.
This is by far the worst clinic in STL. The staff is super ghetto and unprofessional. I had a lady that was on her phone taking care of personal businesses at the same time she was explaining things to me. They are terrible at scheduling they are not thorough at all with instructions. The staff there seems to not like there job. You are already stressed as it is when come there and I feel like they add on to it. My advice women go to hope clinic in granite city the staff there is so professional and kind. Will never go back to this plan parenthood for any service. Advice to staff learn some professionalism.
I had an amazing experience here. My nurse Amy was very loving, open and gentle throughout my whole experience. She made sure i was comfortable and answered all my questions. The staff is very warm and friendly. Definitely a safe place for women.
The worst women’s clinic I have ever been to in my life! I had to wait 2hrs after my scheduled appointment time just to sign a form! The office manager had no explianation as to why people had been waiting 2,3and even 4 hrs to be seen and was also very rude. It seems as though the patients are just numbers on a sheet of paper. People paying for their services means absolutely nothing to them beside the money they profit from them. I will never return to this clinic and don’t recommend them to anyone! This establishment doesn’t even deserve 1 star!
Ive gone to this clinic on and off for STI testing and birth control for years, they are absolutely amazing. Very welcoming and comforting, everyone from the security staff to the reception and the nurses.Definitely my go-to for reproductive health services!
I have been to this clinic on multiple occasions for a variety of reproductive health needs. Security is TOP NOTCH, staff are always friendly and considerate, I was even asked my gender identity and pronouns. When the nurse practitioner was unable to assist me with an issue, she apologized profusely and got me a referral to someone who could help out asap. The *only* thing thats a drawback for this place is all of the extremely loud pro-lifers who gather *immediately* outside the parking lot to harass anyone and everyone entering or exiting the clinic by screaming obscenities and absolutely vile accusations.
My first time here ever. Absolute worst. I got here at 8:30 am and I am still currently sitting in the waiting room at 1:30 pm. They said the longest my appointment could take is 3-5 hours. I STILL have 5 people in front of me, and my appointment has already been 5 hours. This is my first appointment out of multiple. I’m so beyond disappointed in this place. Absolutely ridiculous. After my services, I will NEVER come back again. This is ridiculous.
I love Planned Parenthood!! They are so respectful, so assuring, and so helpful. TO BE CLEAR: THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO JUST GO GET AN ABORTION, PSYCHOS. I lost my Mother young, and this was the ONE place I could go without insurance to get check ups. Even when I went to college in Georgia, I sought out PP. After ten years with their assistance getting the right kind of birth control for me, and just being able to SEE A DR. FOR MY HEALTH, after being careful with my ONE partner, I went there to confirm our happy pregnancy with my beautiful baby girl. I thank God for the women at PP who made this possible for me. Y’all are heroes.
Please ignore the one-star reviews talking about dramatic things that went wrong with the writers. They are written by pro-life people who are trying to scare away women who need medical assistance. I want to assure people looking into getting any sort of test or treatment that this location is safe, and the employees are understanding and kind. Definitely be prepared for very long waiting periods, but since its the only abortion clinic in Missouri, that should be obvious. The staff here (especially the surgeons) are very professional and will give you any help or advice you need.Be aware that there is a pro-life group called 40 Days for Life that hang around the front entrance every day. They are wearing neon vests and handing out coupons for free STI testing but just ignore them.Having an in-clinic abortion is 14 times safer than carrying a pregnancy to term. There is less than 0.05% chance that something serious will go wrong. This is all information they will tell you at the clinic and it is all true. This location has exactly the supportive atmosphere women having a difficult procedure need, and I do highly recommend it to everyone who needs medical assistance or termination.
Ive been to this location several times, as it is the closest to me. The service is very hit and miss. Most of the nurses and NPs there are perfectly professional, skilled and pleasant. However Ive had the displeasure of dealing with a few that are not so nice. I came in to make an STD test appointment and the nurse working the front desk absolutely refused to let me take one of the slips off the desk and write what I needed to on it. She continued on, loudly proclaiming that my privacy wasnt necessary, and I could just tell her what I wanted in front of everyone.Frustrated, I asked her a question about the side effects of my birth control only for her to very openly and loudly tell me that I mustve had some sort of infection. It was almost like she was projecting it to the entire waiting room. After that, I went to a GP and found out that I am infection-free. I dont know what possessed her to act in such an unprofessional and hoodrat-like manner, but it was very uncalled for. It soured my entire opinion of an otherwise okay facility. Also, the younger security guard working the entrance is kind of a jerk. I dont know his name, but he seems to have an attitude every single time Ive gone. If he hates his job that much he should probably consider working somewhere else.
I had am appointment for 2:50. Checked in with a woman at the front desk. After waiting for 1.5 hours, I asked if they knew how much longer it would be. They never had me in the system as waiting. Unacceptable. I will not be returning and will no longer recommend this clinic. Very very disappointed.
I had a vasectomy done. Everyone was nice and helpful. I was very nervous and the staff reassured me that it was okay to be on edge. The procedure went well and I am happy with treatment I received.
I had an appointment to have an IUD. I had my initial appointment and scheduled the insertion appointment for ten days later. TWO hours before the appointment they called me telling me they were out of IUDs. That is unacceptable! I had to switch around my entire schedule and you are telling me they didnt know until two hours before that they were out of the IUD. I do not think so. Completely horrible customer service, as much as I support Plannrd Parenthood, I will never use their services again.
I usually don’t leave reviews but I think that if you are considering having a procedure done here that you please read this. I went in to have a procedure done March 31st and I thought that everything was fine. After it was completed, I still felt nauseous and pretty sick. Exactly two weeks later on April 15th I started to bleed uncontrollably and have cramps that were pretty severe. Something told me to get to the hospital quickly and not wait for my follow up with my gynecologist which was the next Monday April 16th. To making a long story short I had a incomplete abortion done and there was still signs of conception left over and I had to have an emergency D&C done. That broke me down because I was already on the fence about whether or not I should go through with it or not and it had been on my conscience even after. I guess I say that to say this. If you are going to go through with having something like that done, please know that there’s a great chance that something like that can happen. I lost a lot of blood and passed clots that were very big. It’s already a hard decision anyway to do something like that and I don’t know everyone’s circumstances but if you are going here, please be advised that this can happen. I’m not blaming anyone because I consented to do that... I don’t recommend the male doctor do it maybe a female doctor, I would also advise that you please be careful and know that there are risks involved and it can be dangerous. Peace and Love
Was supposed to get a vasectomy, waited 8 weeks from the time the appointment was made, made it to the facility on time, less than an hour before my appointment. 5 minutes before I got to the facility they called and told me my appointment had to be rescheduled another 9 weeks in the future. Went into the lobby to verify in person the rescheduling, a full 15 minutes in an empty lobby before anyone even came out and noticed I was there. Unprofessional and unreliable.
Thé nurses here have been more attentive and caring towards my health concerns than any other medical facility I have been to. They are so warm and genuine, which is hard to find these days.
Most staff is nice and easy to work with and talk to, ultra sound tech tho... I couldnt get a sentence in concerning my health when this is the ONLY place Ive had contradicting dates. They didnt want to hear about it, they didnt care my health could be at risk for it, and they didnt want to do anything to help. All she wanted to do was repeat her useless info that Id listened to 7 times already while I was in the middle of a sentence voicing my concerns about the mismatched dates. Tech with the heavy accent incase youre wondering :)
Excellent Verry good service, they are polite descreet and understanding. For these services they are prompt and not judgemental like some health care providers. I found Janice Thomas ,one of the VPS ,to be quite empithetic of my needs. With covid, these are tuff times for Healthcare workers. Overall planned parenthood fills a niche that other health providers tend to hush hush.
Got my vasectomy here, everything went super smooth and all the staff are fantastic
Every time Ive been here, theyve treated me well. Its sad that you have to go through a metal detector, but thats the America we live in...
I been here twice once in 2002 and the other 2008 I would recommend adoption options I feel bad for what I had done, although I was only a week, I did both the machine and the pill, it hurted me to do what I had done cause I know I always had other options, when I went the peoples in the office they was nice at that time, thats when I got the implanon in my arm, if anyone considering this please pick a better option cause the poison thats going into our body probably would cause cancer cause nobody told me at that time what he was putting in my woman part
The people are nice. The phone operater was very helpful and nice. And I love the depo shot it takes all of my cramps, headaches, and girl problems away! 😊
It was horrible !!!! I called initially to make sure they did walk-ins & they told me yes but once I arrived the lady told me they were understaffed & would not be able to service me that day.as long as they are still open , I should not be denied service even if the pace is slow. Not to mention, EVERYONEEE was rude including the security
When asking for help they are very rude if you guys wanna know anything about abortions they want you to pay $400 and said Missouri Insurance does not cover abortions
Always have a good experience, 2I choose PP over Barns because I think they do a better job and are more personable.
I can almost always get an appoinent for the next day, the staff is kind & helpful & with the income-based sliding scale for (non-abortion) services its always affordable.
Great service they do a lot of good for our community. protesters will be outside, just ignore them and know that non of them work for PP.
The slowest place ever never go in for a walk in I sat in this place for 3 hours when I was the only person in the building and then they only had one doctor all day I went in early they told me to come back because they were about to go to lunch in an hour I came back and still sat as others came in for their appts and other walk inside mind you I was still the only person there when I came back and still sat without being seen after another 2 and a half hours I just left and I will never be back there again and will not recommend
Best medical service I have ever received. Staff and security treat each person kindly, gently, and with dignity.
Terrible customer service! Very unprofessional. Wouldn’t recommend , if I could give no stars I’d give no stars
Worst place in the world as a patient you are already scared for what ever reason the. You have to wait three hour in a waiting room for a 10 min conversation with a doctor.
Dr. Stabbed through my uterus. I almost died before having multiple surgeries. I cant have kids anymore. Her name is Dr. Parks
The staff is ghetto An very unprofessional. They take there time An make up reasons to charge for other services not rendered. Im in the healthcare field An this is not right
There were complications that required an ambulance. Really terrible. Found out later that the doctors are careless and women have even died here. Im not going back.
This is week 3 I’ve been trying to call and can’t get ahold of anyone!! I’ve called everyday more to an once a day
I had no insurance and needed help. They charged so much I couldnt get the help
I love not being judged when I go there. The staff is always inviting.
They discriminate at this location could careless about how your feel I would never go back
I had a very gentle loving experience. They are great listeners.
Horrible experience. waste of my time and money.
Very considerate staff. Even the security guard was nice
This is a good place where women can get the care they need.
So appreciative of your services. Thank you.
Got here at 7:10. Still waiting and its 3:00
Best doctors and employes ever
Theyre quick n safe
FRONT DESK IS GHETTO RUDE AND DONT LISTEN
