Wonderful experience at the WashU IVF center. We are so grateful to be under the care of Dr. Omurtag and his incredible team. Office staff are always extremely professional and courteous for all appointments and procedures. The office space is very comfortable, private, and welcoming. From the very beginning, Dr. Omurtag truly listened to me and understood my concerns as we moved forward. He answered all my questions thoroughly and explained the process to me. The office was very helpful and extremely accommodating due to my busy work schedule. Kim, my IVF nurse, was there for me every step of the way and made sure that I had all the information and supplies I needed. She was fantastic with communication. The entire process can be overwhelming and stressful. However, the office was incredibly helpful and responsive to all my questions and needs. We are so happy to be able to work with Dr. Omurtag and the entire team. My husband and I just welcomed our first baby- a perfectly healthy and beautiful little girl. Words cannot express how grateful and absolutely overjoyed we are to have this precious gift.

My husband and I struggled to get pregnant with our second child and sought help from Dr. Omurtag and his team. Everybody we encountered from the office staff to the nurses to the providers were incredible and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with our plan of care and all of our questions were answered, etc. We went through IVF and recently welcomed our son into this world. If not for Dr. Omurtag and his team we would not have been able to expand our family and make our daughter a big sister. Infertility is so challenging to navigate and can feel so isolating, anxiety provoking and depressing, but these wonderful people eased our worries and supported us in any and every way that they could and we are forever grateful.

Our family had appointments and procedures with Dr. Johnson, Dr. Omurtag, and their respective teams. We are incredibly grateful for the positive and pleasant experience. Both doctors, along with the nurses and procedure teams, were friendly, supportive, and provided clear information about our next steps and considerations for our case. I highly recommend them to anyone considering IVF.

Completed several rounds of IUI at another fertility clinic. We switched to Omurtag and his team for IVF procedures. Omurtags office and staff were a world of difference. They were much more helpful, organized, clean, and professional. Each time I went in I felt like I was their only priority. They were all very knowledgeable and took their time with us each time. Their communication throughout the process on MyChat was outstanding. All of his nurses, OBs, etc all went above and beyond to help us get pregnant!

My husband and I had a son in 2018 and upon trying to add to our family a year later, began a journey full of valleys over the course of the next 5 years. We were referred to Wash U fertility by our dr. And immediately connected with Dr. Omurtag upon our first consult. His approachability, focus on OUR thoughts for how we wanted to proceed and knowledge on next steps are unmatched. We first tried IUIs and then proceeded onto IVF and then IVF with donor eggs. Living 2 hours away from the Wash U office and working full time was a challenge as we went through treatments but the support of his entire team on trying to accommodate early morning appointments and educating on next steps provided a level of customer service that blew me and my husband away time and time again. The entire staff is so focused on top tier customer service and demonstrating, through actions, that they understand how challenging an infertility journey can be, how urgency is key much of the time and how compassion and an extra note of encouragement with positive or negative news can make all the difference. The other thing that sets Wash U apart is the collaboration of the doctors. While you have one main doctor, they all get together every week and review cases and/or challenges to get input and ideas or support on protocols. This collaborative approach was a key reason why we spoke with Dr. Omurtag in the first place. So different than smaller offices where there is one doctor or two that only use their own knowledge. We were able to see this approach when we got some less than favorable results in of our cycles.Although this is not always the case, we were able to use our last donor egg and my husband’s sperm to conceive a child, a girl, that was born just a few days ago (august 2024). Even had this long awaited child, a daughter, not been the outcome, this review would not have changed. If you are struggling with infertility, Wash U is a great option to consider and, because we were lucky enough to have Dr. Omurtag, he is an excellent physician and just a nice, kind of quirky guy that anyone would be lucky to meet. He was a great lead on a challenging journey and we can’t wait to share more about him and how our daughter came to be as she grows. If you are dealt a challenging hand I’m growing your family, please consider Wash U Fertility.Patients from IL

This is a review especially to praise Manny! I have known him to be the friendliest face at the clinics front desk, but today I discovered that he also works in the lab. We chatted while he did my (painless) blood draw, and I was really impressed at his compassion and commitment to always learning more about the patient experience. I have been working with the clinic for a few years (just conceived a second child there - so happy), and while the whole team is caring, Manny made me feel really seen in the challenges of this process. What an asset!

I am no longer a patient with this clinic for many reasons but this is the main one. This was the only clinic my insurance would cover and if I knew what I know now about this clinic I would have gone else where and paid self pay. My insurance benefits exhausted and they continued to bill my insurance company even after getting denials half way through an IVF cycle. Then they balance billed me for the denied amount in stead of switching it over to self pay. The denied amount is thousands more than self pay and billing wont back out the claims switch services to self pay. Prior to starting the IVF they told me I still had $17,000 which is plenty of benefits left to cover the egg retrieval and a transfer. I was told I was financially cleared and I was given an amount to pay to proceed and I was told that was all I needed to pay. I had already met my deductible and my co-insurance would have been 20%. Self pay for a whole cycle is 15k at most reputable clinics. (I called around) They charged my ins 21+k for the egg retrieval alone but my benefits exausted after 12k, for the frozen transfer they billed insurance 13k and were denied. Medical charges were paid by insurance but they billing me for roughly 13k for the denied fertility charges from Wash U and BJC. They made us try othe options prior to IVF and exausted the $20,000 in benefits that I had from my insurance and are billing me $13,000 for 1 cycle of IVF and one transfer that was not secussful. There are other medical and personal reasons I would not go back here as well but the billing practices are highway robbery. The nurses are nice and caring but the DRs are questionable and dont make feel heard or feel like you matter. There are many other other clinics that offer lower prices even for self pay, have good secuss rates and most likely better patient care. I advise you call around and do your research on the different treatments for your diagnosis and pricing for the treatments.

Unimaginably bad, a true nightmare. We needed a specific biopsy performed, and it was confirmed by Jessie Rieger and Rebecca Stearns that it could be done at WashU. Our doctor’s office sent the requisition over and it was confirmed and biopsy scheduled. We spent more than $5500 on medications, appointments, missed work, the biopsy, and the laboratory… not to mention months of previous time preparing for the biopsy and then waiting for results. The biopsy was performed, and we received the results - which were for the WRONG test. After contacting the lab directly, they don’t even have the ability to test the kind of biopsy we needed, so WashU cannot and does not do the kind of test that we needed and that they CONFIRMED multiple times they could do for us.We were misled by WashU (truly, defrauded - they charged us for a biopsy that they were incapable of providing), and they performed an invasive medical procedure without proper informed consent (we NEVER would have gone through with the biopsy if it wasn’t for the specific test we needed - it is painful and has risks involved). I have a disability, which prevents me from getting pregnant, and I have felt discriminated against and treated differently from a “regular” client trying to achieve pregnancy at many points throughout my contact with this clinic but especially with this most recent situation. No one at the clinic has responded IN ANY WAY since we reached out days ago after receiving the incorrect test results (and confirming with the original requisition order that the correct test had been ordered from our side). We’ve also reached out to Tiffany Little and Monica Stith - no one cares or even responds. The lack of accountability and lack of ethics is outrageous.BEWARE!!!

She went above and beyond. 😇 Almost everyone I encountered was fantastic…but specifically Dr. Omertag, his nurse, Erin, and the nurses in the IVF area were all amazing. We had a positive outcome after many years of failure. If you are in the STL area, learn from my experience and start here instead of making it your 4th stop! Forever grateful.

Dr. Omurtag and his nursing staff, ultrasound technicians, medical assistants, assisting medical doctors, embryologists and anyone affiliated with WashU Fertility and Reproductive, are truly a gift to experience during such a difficult/emotional time trying to conceive. Dr. Omurtag and his staff are confidently focused on getting you pregnant while providing the most compassionate and attentive care. When first starting treatments things can be overwhelming, confusing and heavy. Dr. Omurtag will take his time explaining what options would fit you best. I have previously experienced infertility treatments at another clinic and I assure you- WashU Fertility and Reproductive is where you belong. I never once doubted their concern for my safety but also trusted the path they led me down. At times we were met with unfavorable outcomes of treatments, however- Welcome to the world of infertility! There is not one size fits all and you can only control your body so much. The testing options that were offered were great to help rule out anything that might have been aiding in my pregnancy issues. Overall the due diligence Dr. Omurtag provides is impeccable. WashU is NOT in this for the money, they want to build families and that is so important when you are looking for a clinic. I would never consider going somewhere else after experiencing the stark difference in care AND outcome. This process is very scary, but I found Dr. Omurtag would simplify it as much as possible with his nurses so you aren’t jumping too far ahead (causing additional anxiety). If you appreciate direct/compassionate care, please see Dr. Omurtag. They will not feed you unrealistic expectations and I think that is so important and valuable during this process. I also would like to mention that the doctors at WashU Fertility and Reproductive work in unison so at times you may see another provider. Please know this is normal and I had full trust in the other providers as well. It feels as if everyone always knows what is going on and that is due to the clear chain of communication between physicians. Having a doctor assist you with having a baby is a gift I cannot repay and will always be so grateful for. Being able to Graduate the clinic is such a happy and sad feeling. I had anxiety about leaving the clinic because of how much trust they built but also was happy knowing I got to see my OB and he would be able to take over. This journey is not for the weak and thank you Dr. Omurtag for committing your life to this.

My husband and I owe everything to WashU fertility! We came from another clinic feeling defeated after 2 failed embryo transfers. Dr. Lebovic was confident that we would have a favorable outcome and tailored the perfect plan for our IVF cycle. My last clinic I had OHSS after retrieval, WashU made sure that did not happen even with retrieving 30 eggs. We ended up getting 7 highly graded embryos. Our first transfer stuck and I am now 8.5 weeks pregnant! My nurse Kate was always there for me and answered any question I had in a timely manner. Every staff member was so caring and nice. We started our journey with Dr. Omurtag in October 2020. First IUI was scheduled for November (failed) and the 2nd for early February (also failed). My husband had low motility and based on Dr. Omurtag’s recommendations and guidance the next step was IVF. However, he was confident we would respond well bc I have a high AMH.Had my baseline on July 16th and by July 30th he retrieved 20 eggs with 12 mature enough to be inseminated, 7 made it to Day 3 and 4 making it to Day 5. Embryo Transfer was August 4th and made it a full 40 weeks! Our little lady was born 40wks+1 day.We owe all this to Dr. Omurtag and his team. The attentiveness and just matter of fact approach they had with us was best for us dual military couple. We are so thankful and highly highly recommend WashU for fertility treatment.

After trying for a few in our local area, we decided to look for a second opinion. We spent several weeks contemplating and doing research on facilities and doctors. We came across Dr. Omurtag mainly through FertilityIQ. He had an excellent rating and even read several articles about him. We setup an introductory meeting and we first noticed how attentive he was to our specific situation. He treated us as a unique case whereas our last experience we felt like we were part of the herd and the common practice didnt work for us. Dr. Omurtag and team were very caring and understanding throughout the entire process. We went through 3 IVF cycles and several different tests along the way. Each time we were not successful, it was always evaluated and conveyed to us what our options were. The Dr. frequently asked us if we had questions and went in depth as to what research has said and what his opinion the matter was. The whole experience was not perfect, but when we had any issues, the team was able to address and fix! We eventually had the privilege of a successful pregnancy and were overwhelmed with the support and cheer we received. If you are a couple/individual struggling with fertility, I would highly recommend Wash U Fertility without hesitation!

I highly recommend the WashU REI clinic. After previously working with another clinic, we recognize and appreciate the professionalism and organization of the staff here. While Dr. Omurtag was our primary doctor, every single doctor, including the embryologists had a hand in advising and assisting on our complicated case. Unfortunately, we had to do multiple rounds of IVF to find success; the team never gave up and was there for me when the scan or blood work was not ideal. The OR and recovery room nurses and techs were exceptional, cheering me on with every procedure and phone call with results made. When speaking about our case, Dr. Ratts explained that IVF is more than just a cookbook recipe, every case must be carefully analyzed and catered to the specific patient’s needs. This is exactly how my case was handled. Many clinics can leave you feeling like another piece in the assembly line, and some of the process does lend itself to that feeling no matter what clinic you are at, however my case is a testament to the fact that this is not so at WashU. The doctors care and devote their practice to leaving no stone unturned on your path to find success. I often refer to infertility as the Wild West of medicine- it can leave you feeling so unsure and full of doubt when it comes to treatment plans, medications, diet, and success rates- WashU does a wonderful job in helping you feel less alone & cared for along your journey through the wilderness.I’m overwhelmingly thankful to say, we have one healthy toddler with another baby on the way.

I honestly cannot recommend this place for assistance with infertility. The billing department will do whatever it takes to avoid claims being handled by insurance providers. Our insurance covers diagnosis but not treatment which we understood. Before we even started treatments we were getting hammered with bills. These bills were from the testing that was performed to find out why my wife and I were having issues conceiving. I spoke with my insurance company several times explaining exactly what the tests were and each time they said it would be covered if the hospital would bill it correctly. One bill was eventually corrected but the second bill (more expensive one) kept coming back and we eventually had to pay it out of pocket. This nearly wiped out our savings so we could only afford one attempt at the ultrasounds and IUI. We were refused the IUI as things didnt work as planned and we just stopped as we would have to pay out of pocket for more ultrasounds.

This review is a bit late. Washington University Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center was the third facility we visited/interviewed and the second facility my wife and I used for IVF. Because of them, we have an amazing two-year-old daughter. We were disheartened with our first facility, where, to paraphrase the lead doctor, we wouldn’t be able to have any success with IVF and would have to resort to using an egg donor. The doctor was resistant to discussing any other options, including adjusting the medication. At Wash U., Dr. Keller, Dr. Omertag, and their team were absolutely wonderful. They were candid and caring. They informed us of the probability of being successful, but stated that they would also approach a failed cycle from a different angle, to at least adjust variables and exhaust options. They constantly gave us hope and reminded us not to give up if a cycle failed. We were incredibly lucky to be successful with our first round with Wash U. We owe so much to them and are forever grateful for what they did and how they treated us.I hope for the best for everyone that is starting out with Wash U. I believe you will be in good hands, and they will be there for you, regardless of the outcome or however many times it takes to be successful.

My wife and I have been through 1 round of IVF. It was successful! We are currently going through our second. We definitely recommend Washington University Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center. We have to drive 3 and a half hours to and from, but when you are going through such a costly (both financially and emotionally) process, it is important to do your research and go with an organization with a high level of experience and expertise. They have been very good to work with and have accommodated us as best as possible with procedures that can be done locally vs in St Louis. My wife came up with a lot of questions/concerns along the way, and they have been excellent in responding to and coaching her. We have appreciated Dr. Omurtag and our experience with the team. I hope all the best for anyone else about to go through this process.

This team is so amazing. I couldnt express the gratitude I have for them. Obviously, they gave me the gift of having a family (2 beautiful wash babies!) but there is so much more to this team. They are so knowledgeable, inside and out! They explain everything and the reason for what we do and when. There are answers immediately. The communication and scheduling and is prompt and accommodating. They treat us like family, they know who their patients are. You wont just be a name on a chart here. I would have 1,000 babies with their help if my life span would allow it. Thank you for everything you guys do as a team! ❤

I don’t think it is possible to put into words how grateful I am for Dr. Omurtag, the staff, and wash u. IVF is a terrifying process, there’s no doubt about that. However, Dr. Omurtag, Kathy, and Jessie did everything possible to answer my questions and cheer me on. I was fortunate enough to have a successful IVF round on my first attempt, and I believe I owe that to Dr. Omurtag’s brilliance and compassion for his work. I would recommend him to everyone who has to go through this as he definitely is one of the best if not best doctors ever. I have never had a doctor, prior to him, that was so personable. For example, when it was confirmed I was pregnant he, himself, actually messaged me with congratulations. He did the same 9 months later when my healthy son was born! I plan to take my son to meet him as well. I could go on forever I’m sure with nothing but great things to say, but I’ll leave it at that! Thank you Dr. Omurtag!

Thank you to Dr. Omurtag and the rest of his staff for helping my husband and I navigate the path to pregnancy. Dr. Omurtag is highly knowledgeable, friendly, and was able to talk to us about all of our options. Every staff member - from sonographers, front desk staff, phlebotomists, and nursing were wonderful to work with. I highly recommend Dr. Omurtag and the WashU REI team to any person who may find themselves needing help to start a family.

In 2017 my wife and I decided that we wanted to share our love and expand our family. After researching several different fertility clinics in the midwest, we decided to go with WASH U. Our insurance company screwed up our referral. Once the issue was resolved the original provider that we were scheduled with left a bad taste in our mouths. We decided to stick with them but switch doctors and I must say that was the best decisions ever. We met Dr. Omurtag and it was an instant connection. He didnt give us false hope and he wasnt in it for the money! He actually cared! Dr. Omurtag and his team are phenomenal! The bond that weve built with them is unbreakable. They got to know us on a personal level, we werent treated like patients but more like family! After three difficult IUIs, the third one was a charm. We got pregnant with triplets and ended up with one beautiful, healthy baby boy!

I have never experienced such an awesome team! They were replying within an hour of answering any questions I had posted on mychart account. They called me back within the hour if I had concerns. Weekend team with the emergency line also called back within the hour to follow up. Very important when you are going through a very precise schedule. Everyone is so happy and looks like they love their job. Clean and safe environment. Would recommend them to anybody!

Not only did they make our dreams of parenthood come true, but office and lab visits were efficient and on-time, information and explanations were well communicated, and everyone was extremely kind. I always felt like our case was being paid attention to, and Dr. Omurtag was extremely good about explaining our options and treatment plan and accommodating our preferences (when reasonable/possible). I wish every medical experience was like this!

Being able to have a child was always a dream of mine and my wife as well. All I can say is that these doctors and staff worked with us every step of the way and there is no one else I would trust or want to work with. We drove 3 1/2 hrs one way to continue to use them because they treat us like family. Also, we are 2 for 2 with a hundred percent success rate and theyve kept my wife and the babies safety top priority. There is no one Id want to help me impregnate my wife more then Keenan Omurtag.

I had a horrible experience here. I am just now receiving my medical bills from last September (thats 5 MONTHS later). They do not do PGS testing or change their FET protocol even when you ask them to. I felt more like a number than a patient. Waited over a week to hear back about why my transfers failed, just totally left in the dark. Even with insurance, Im paying thousands of dollars for procedures that were unsuccessful even though I was told multiple times that it was all looking good and that I had great chances. Im so fed up and will be transferring my remaining embryos elsewhere. This place is a BUSINESS that only wants your money and does not care about you as a person.

I have debated for awhile now if I should write a review thinking my situation could have been a one off. However, as I go through my medical records to try to figure out when some things happened. I see that despite being with this office for over a year, my FSH level was never checked. Being in my 30s when I started in this office, FSH should have been checked to have a baseline. Unfortunately I learned this well after being in their care. This was in addition to ignoring a 25 pound unexpected weight loss and sending me to my GP to figure out. The eventual investigation of the weight loss by another doctor led to a diagnosis of Stage IV Endometriosis. To say that I wasted time and money in this office is an understatement.Additionally, they many times made infertility more difficult with insensitive statements and lack of understanding. One example is when I needed a procedure done on a specific cycle day. I called when my cycle started and was told I would have to wait because I couldnt get in the schedule. When I asked if I could schedule for the following month since my cycle was fairly regular, I was told to call in the following month. I called in and was again told I needed to wait. They do not seem to understand the importance of even one month for someone struggling with infertility. At the second time being told I would have to wait, I complained and eventually got in, but wasnt given an option of if the day/time would work for me. I just had to take the day/time they offered. The bedside manner during the procedure was then very poor. We left this office shortly after that experience.

Please do not ever go this hospital. I have just received a bill after 8 months. I had discontinued going to this clinic long back and moved to another city too. The staff never informed that this amount was pending.I went to this hospital for a IUI procedure and was then told to add ultrasound (which is quite expensive) every time I get an IUI for some reason. I had to pay out of pocket for every procedure and the doctor kept asking to get more expensive procedures done every time. When they told me that I need to get a procedure that costs 15000$, I gave up going to this clinic. I do not feel that they understand my situation and I am just a number to them. When I needed them to send a medical record to my insurance company, I called their office several times and left voice messages. I never heard back from them. I had also contacted them through the website but they directed me to contact the office again. But they always call on time for the money I am due. It seems like everyone works and acts quite independently from each other and gives a new phone number for each service. I am not going here again, thank you!

I will start by saying everyone at the office is very nice and made us feel comfortable. That said, after several rounds of IUI they found out my wife had severe stage 4 endometriosis essentially making all of IUI attempts a waste of time. After learning the symptoms of endometriosis, in my opinion, it should have been obvious to a professional to look into this instead of just trying IUI over and over. Our biggest complaint, though, is that (after eliminating the endometriosis) we considered IVF, before hand we consulted with the Dr. about the cost of IVF as it can be very expensive. The Dr gave us an estimate and when our bills came in they were significantly higher than the estimate (by thousands of dollars). We disputed the costs and they admitted that the Dr, gave us the wrong estimate and said the Dr really should not be estimating the costs. We tried for months to work with them to come to an agreement but in the end we were still stuck with the bills. We would have looked into other options or clinics if they would have given us a more realistic estimate to start with. I understand estimates are not exact price quotes, but it was way off. Now we are faced with just paying the extra costs, going to collections, or paying a lot of money for a lawyer to fight it. What started as a pleasant process has turned into a very poor experience for us.

Dr. Jundheim is amazing. Its few times you can find a doctor that listens and takes YOU into the equation instead of just the average and usually. I dont have fertility issues (I pray for all of you that do) but I have endometriosis that has finally been diagnosed after months of pretty much banging my head against the wall and screaming to be heard by other doctors. She wants to try the easiest and less invasive course first which is great since we live in such a cut you up first society. Her bedside manner really made me feel cared for and her explanation of the course of treatment made me feel empowered about my health.

Gross negligence, incompetence, overscheduled doctors and hospital facilities is all we found here. By all means give it a shot if you want to pay twice as much for each service and spend a full 4 months prior to each service to get any billing or authorization set up. Be prepared to call 3-4 separate departments to initiate each process - and then FOLLOWUP. Also brace for never having a live human answer your calls in an endless game of phone tag. All departments fail to communicate with each other in the most basic of ways. “ALL” we needed was a series of FET transfers - we contacted them at the beginning of March, it took 6 weeks to see a doctor, and then another THREE MONTHS to complete a transfer. After the unsuccessful transfer, we can’t get on the schedule for another one because no one know what the heck is going on over there with anyone. Apparently Dr. Odem AND his nurse “forgot” to tell anyone we wanted to try again. My fault apparently, for assuming a basic level of competence and communication. A horrific experience from start to finish. If insurance wasn’t forcing us to go here I would be back at MCRM or SIRM in a HEARTBEAT.
