Only reason I go here is because it’s convenient for me right now (don’t have a car). I’ve been going to this clinic for over a year and NEVER once had an enjoyable experience. Doctor seems apathetic about everything, doesn’t really smile and seems to hate her profession (purely judging by my experience with her). But the worse is the staff!! Especially the front desk. They’re so rude and dismissive. They will argue with you to justify themselves and never take accountability. They don’t let you speak and always interrupt you with their excuses and reasons or whatever. They canceled an appointment on me saying they told me but I was never notified until I got to the office and they argued they did talk to me about it for at least 5 minutes. Why would I show up to an appointment if I knew it was canceled??? They talk to you like you’re a child and never apologize for their mistakes. If you can, find another women’s clinic—go anywhere but here!! The worst experience I’ve ever had with a medical clinic/staff.
I see Dr. Thompson and I love how she ACTUALLY listens to me and my concerns every time Im there. I am not seeing the practice for any maternity related care, and cannot speak on that. I am here for annuals and other GYN medical issues and complications. She takes excellent care of me and I have no plans of going anywhere else.The medical staff is excellent at creating a relaxing environment when you go back since this is typically a very stressful appointment no matter the reason.The front desk team is nothing but polite and approachable even on my worst days.I have Cigna and thankfully my insurance renewed the contract keeping her practice in network so I didnt need to start over with somebody new again.
Started going to this clinic over a month ago. My last appointment was back in March on the 15 with Dr. Thompson. (Absolutely amazing Dr) I was told I would get a call from the office to set up an appointment for a heteroscopy/ laparoscopy and have yet to hear anything. I have emailed multiple times without any type of response and have tried calling to which either no one answers or I get placed on hold then hung up on. It’s ridiculous. I still have yet to get this appointment scheduled but, yet have gotten numerous emails for a payment that is now due for my last appointment. Along side text messages. But, the office can’t return emails, schedule appointments, or call back their patients. It’s absolutely disgusting. You can hound your patients for payment but, can’t help your patients receive the proper care they need. You should be reported to the better business bureau. I think it’s sad that no one from the office even responds to patient concerns on here or even tries to improve their service.
Doctor Thompson was great. However, the staff are terrible.They are extremely rude. Its impossible to actually speak to someone, let alone make an appointment. You will also be waiting hours to actually get into your appointment that was scheduled at a specific time. They also do not renew prescriptions or even check -- I have requested to renew a prescription 3 times over a month and I cannot get my medication because of this offices negligence. BEWARE AND STAY AWAY!
I was interested in setting up an appt as a new patient, but they are NOT a family friendly office. No children welcome in the lobby. I still dont understand WHY but its not women friendly if its not family friendly....Will not give any money to a practice where I cant bring my child.
Dr.Reyes is Trash!! Do not come here! Go anywhere but here. They will prescribe and want to do surgery all while not answering any questions you may have. I got better seeing another doctor, no surgery, no prescriptions. Good luck! God bless you all.
I’m not sure what the experiences have been with staff here, but I’ve dealt directly with staff member Felicia. She answered immediately and as a new patient, she fit me in right away for an appt with Dr Thompson! She was thorough, caring and prompt! Nothing but good things to say!!
Its unfortunate I have to write this review because setting up my initial appointment for well woman exam in Feb 2023 went well and Dr. Thompson is exceptional! However, when I became pregnant I tried calling multiple times to set up an appointment and my calls were unanswered. I left 2 voicemail messages and no one ever cared to call me back. I finally got a hold of someone and when I explained why I was making the appointment she placed me on hold for over 10 minutes and then the line was disconnected. She had already asked me for and pulled up my information (name & DOB)and my phone number had not changed. If they cared, they would have tried calling me back to set up that appointment but it was clear as day they did not care about me.I was happy to establish and have my pregnancy healthcare elsewhere. Northeast Ob/Gyn have dedicated schedulers for obstetric patients and they have offices in Schertz and Stone Oak.If you are having trouble reaching anyone at this office, I recommend you look for other options.
Doctor Thompson is an angel. Shes kind and caring, shes gentle, and she *actually* listens to you. If youre tired of feeling unheard or dismissed please visit her.
Dr Thompson is absolutely amazing and I adore her. She delivered my daughter and I followed her from the last office in westover hills to this one. It really sucks that I’m having to now find a new doctor because her office staff is the worst. Not only can you never get a hold of anyone, but the last time I called to schedule an appointment, whomever answered the phone began arguing with another employee and hung up on me. Someone eventually called me back who was just as rude. I have no access to the patient portal anymore or I would have cancelled my appointment through there as you can’t get a hold of anyone when you call. The day the office staff is corrected I would love to return because I’d literally follow Dr Thompson anywhere, but until then, I’m forced to find someone else.
If I could give this no stars, I would. Such a shame, because I went to both Dr. Shields and now I’m with Dr. Thompson, who I adore. However, this office staff is so unbelievably rude and ignorant. Forget about trying to make an appointment, cancel or reschedule, because they won’t answer the phone. If you leave a voicemail, it’ll take them 3 days to get back to you or longer, so I hope it’s not urgent. If they had a different office staff, it’d make a big difference. Just look at all the negative reviews, purely based on their staff. Ridiculous.
I absolutely love Dr Thompson, but the office staff never answers the phone. They hang up on you, put you on hold without saying, don’t return calls, cancel appointments via email. Im in my 3rd trimester and just trying to get ahold of my doctor, and reschedule an appointment that was canceled via email with no explanation. It’s so unfortunate the office staff is so unhelpful, but they sure do take your money and haven’t even submitted it to my insurance to go towards my deductible.
While I like my OBGYN at the practice, if you make an appointment, expect to not be seen for 1-2 hours past your appointment time with no real explanation. There is no follow-up on why you have a scheduled appointment time without actually being called back to your appointment until 1-2 hours later and when you ask, the staff just brushes you off like they don’t care you have to go back to work or have other time obligations. Why have an appointment schedule if I am expected to arrive on time but the staff are not expected to call you back to be seen on time.No one answers the phone to schedule appointments or answer questions. The in-person experience with Dr. Thompson and the Sonogram specialist were great and efficient. I have nothing negative to say about the actual services that were rendered. The issue is with the front office staff - 2 of my appointments were cancelled via text message without calling me first noting it was for a mistake in their scheduling and on their end. However, I have tried to call over 10 times at various days and times throughout the day and NO ONE ANSWERS the phone - I am unable to actually reschedule the cancelled appointments (which I did not cancel myself, they office just did it without asking or telling me ahead of time). I continue to call and no one picks up the phone to actually schedule appointments - this has happened multiple times. I dont understand how an appointment can just be cancelled because it was a scheduling error on behalf of the practice without someone actually calling to reschedule on the spot or without anyone picking up the phone in the office when I try to call and reschedule it myself.
Came to google to get the number to try rescheduling my cancelled (by them) appointment and happened to see all the recent reviews that are 100% accurate.I have been going to Dr. Shields since 2017. She is a great doctor and I had no issues until the new name/ownership. The last two visits, I was waiting in the waiting room for over an hour. I never received any of my test results (portal or phone call). And my next annual was cancelled by them (notified through an automated call) but I could never get someone on the phone to reschedule. So I said no thanks and am taking my business elsewhere.

I just had my 1st appointment with Dr. Thompson!! She is awesome! She answered all of my questions and was very personable. It took a little while in the waiting room but Id rather wait a little while and have a doctor that takes their time and be thorough than to have a rushed appointment.
Dr. Reyes is great been going since I was 17 currently 31. Everybody is great only con is getting someone to answer at time . But they can be busy so it’s understandable.
I LOVE Dr Thompson and highly recommend her, but it is impossible to get ahold of anyone. When I was in labor, I had to call 7 times before I got someone to pick up. Postpartum, I had an emergent situation. Called 6 times, left a voicemail, they never called me back. I’m going to find a new office purely because of this.
Heard great things about Dr. Thompson & was recommended this clinic by my past OBGYN but unfortunately this clinic does not respond to appointment requests submitted through their own website or phone calls. Upsetting.
This office used to be one of the best Ive never know. I got cared by Dr. Kellogg with my daughter pregnancy, she is almost two now, I have recently been here again after calling for almost 3 days in a row to make and appointment, left messages they finally called back and make me an appointment for next day, but when i got there what used to be a happy, friendly, professional environment its now a depressing long wait long faces office, probably will be getting another obgyn after labs comes back, sadly.
Dr. Thompson is amazing. Will be her patient for as long as I can. I will always highly recommend her to anyone who sees an OB.Its an event calling and getting a hold of someone. But Ive seen how busy they can be at times. There also seems to be alot of turnover at the front desk. So its worth being patient and understanding, especially since everyone is so nice
This office is horrible. Dr. Kellogg left and now seeing Dr. Thompson. From my experience with the doctors, they were good to me but the office staff is horrible. They delay in submitting paperwork and the sole medical assistant responsible is always out. The office manager is no help either, she does not return calls or assist in resolving matters. It has been over two weeks medical records have been requested and Brittani states would be submitted as she was ‘all caught up’ when she spoke to me in person on 10/4/22.The office manager has a answer for everything but really is saying NOTHING. Piss poor service to patients. There needs to be re-staffing here seriously. Hire a back up person to assist in submitting documents since there are medical aides in the back sitting down, joking around.
Im going to give 3 Stars just because Dr. Thompson has been amazing! After the many Gynos i have seen, she was the first to actually properly diagnose me. In less than 2 visits! I used to see Dr. Reyes years ago and he was the worst... The reason for the 3 stars is because it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of the front office for appointments! I am 2 days out of a minor procedure so now I have to drive all the way up to the office to get an appointment scheduled since they cant seem to pick up the line. Ridiculous!
Ive been going here since it was IFWH. Dr Shields is wonderful but whoever runs the office is bad at it. Theyve rescheduled both of my daughters well woman appointments 3 times. They blamed her surgery coordinator. This place was way better when it was IFWH. We will be going elsewhere where it doesnt take 2-3 hours past your appointment time to be seen. And all we get is a quick less than 5 minute visit
I’ve been coming to this doctors office since I was 12. I’m 24 now, I just started to have problems this year with them. This doctors office is a nightmare. It takes multiple calls which your on hold for multiple hours to get thru. I scheduled a free Pap smear with my insurance they still charged me. It took over a week to reschedule my missed appointment because they don’t answer the phone, mind you I’m pregnant and have health complications. The doctor especially doctors Reyes here is trash. He prescribed me birth control to find out on my own that I was pregnant already. Don’t waste your time everytime I ask to speak to a manager I’m given the run around. Take your business somewhere else where you’re actually cared about. This is a nightmare experience
I LOVE Dr Thompson!! She has been my OBGYN and has been great at listening to my concerns and answering all my questions and checking everything that’s needed. The front desk are nice. There’s one or two who you can tell hate their jobs but overall they’re nice. The only thing is they are understaffed so to get someone on the phone is hard but that’s everywhere now because of under staff issue. I don’t care about dealing with that as long as I’m seen with Dr Thompson who does a great job at caring for my and my baby’s health 🤗

I’ve been coming here since 2018 with my first pregnancy. I am now currently pregnant a second time this time with twins. Throughout my pregnancies Dr. Molly Shields has been so supportive and listens and answers all my concerns with medical based answers that reassure me since I have medical anxiety. The staff is always friendly to me at check in and definitely do not deserve the one stars that everyone is giving them. Coming from a medical profession myself I totally see how the one stars are just people that don’t understand medicine and just want quick fixes. DO NOT FALL FOR THE FAKE FAMILY AND FRIENDS ONE STARS. This place is amazing and will care for you as long as you’re willing to listen to medical advice.
Ive been going to this Doctors office for 15 years now. Dr. Valdez even helped bring me into this world! When I was seeing Dr. Valdez I never thought I needed to go somewhere else. Until he retired two years ago. When I first came into the office today for my annual visit I had to sign a wavier that states that I cannot bring up issues or have a prescription refill. Upon signing it, I did not see the line because it is grey and barely noticeable. Dr. Reyes is very blunt and has no bed side manners. I dont feel welcomed and I certainly dont like how I am treated in such a cold manner. When leaving I was told I had to pay my copay since I had some issues that I asked about in the appointment. Something Ive always done, has now forced me to pay my copay since I signed a wavier. This isnt right! So many women already dont want to be examined, and now we cant ask questions. Please go find another Doctor! This is my final visit. Which I never thought would happen when seeing Dr. Valdez.
Started coming in March with my first pregnancy on the recommendation of a friend. Have not had any issues so far :D Very friendly front desk staff. On my first visit a woman working the front desk did seem a little cold at first, but I started to become visibly upset when I learned there wasnt a way to get a copy of the heartbeat to share with my husband who couldnt be there for the first appointment she definitely seemed to be genuinely concerned for me. It was just first baby emotions, but I appreciated her asking if I was ok.
Loved seeing Dr.Thompson she was always so good to me. HOWEVER, front staff is horrible on getting paperwork done. I’ve been waiting almost 4 MONTHS for my records to be transferred to my new obgyn, I’m high risk and have to undergo surgery in 6 days and they STILL HAVENT SENT MY MEDICAL RECORDS. this office is simply put, lazy.
I left because of the office staff . The Manager talk to me on the phone about faxing some paperwork . I called the next day she going lie and say she never talk to me . I really enjoy seeing Doc Mallory Thompson. All comments about office staff is true 😢. I only gave 3 stars bc of the doctor 😊
Worst place you can go to. I’ve been going to Dr.Shields since 2019 for infertility. From 2019-2022 she has only sent me to get 2 lab test and 1 HSG TEST. Then disregarded everything I would tell her. She was simply dry with her words and just plain rude like she was over her job.After each test they were supposed to reach out to me within a week, and never once did I get a call. When I would call to get information about my exams they were always to “busy” or that everything looked “OKAY”Dealing with infertility is hard enough and not getting the answers I need is really heartbreaking when you’re dealing with a NASTY Doctor that doesn’t care and a front desk lady like Britney that is rude as can be.Needless to say I waisted almost 3 yrs with dr.shields and her office staff.
This is the worst OBGYN ever. The customer service is horrible and they make you feel that they don’t care and that you are just complaining. This is my 4th child and I have never experienced such indifference. I spend hours waiting to see the doctor and more hours on hold to discuss test results. This supposed to be a joyous occasion because this is my last baby, but dealing with this Obgyn office has been so stressful and frustrating that it has literally left me in tears.
I have been part of this network for 13 years! Back when it was IFW. Had a 9:35 appointment, taken to the back at 9:45. 10:45 came and no one had come in yet! I wasnt about to wait longer for a quick pap smear! The paper you have to sign when you show up is a joke. Then people wonder why women just stay quiet and dont voice concerns. This is the first time Ive ever just gotten dressed and walked out!! If you can be a whole hour behind for an appointment so early in the morning then maybe you should allot more time for patients and not cram schedules to pad numbers and insurance claims. I tried calling to be sure my insurance claim wasnt submitted so I may go elsewhere and theyre automated message is on that theyre office is closed! 11 a.m., on a Friday from an office I just left!!
Absolute worst pffice in san antonio doctor experience was cold and unfriendly as if answering any questions was a burden. The NURSE experience was even worse, they forgot my wife was there, lost her paperwork and spent the time when they were supposed to be helping her and others, bitching and complaining openly and loudly about patients, forgetting that we were in ear shot and could hear them completely ripping people apart on the other side of their little partition. Specifically someone named connie being the ring leader of the whole thing, a cancerous morale vampire bogging down any optimism any new hires might have about working there and helping women in need, in a VERY difficult time....
This has to be one of the worst medical facilities that I have ever visited. My spouse has been trying to reach this place for three days after she had a fall. The phones just rings non stop. When you can reach them, the office staff is very nonchalant. Not to mention if you are a father that goes with your significant other to the visits they make you wait out in the hall. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Piss poor patient care horrible response times.
I am currently a patient there it is my first pregnancy and I am thrilled about the news. I dont have a issue with the staff but I do felt that the staff is not a happy staff. My first appointment i waited over an hour to see the doctor and since i am thrilled I really didnt get any good vibes from the staff there. I was expecting more congratulations I dont think I even got one. I will continue to go there until there is good reason to stop but in the mean time I am fishing around for other more friendly facilities.RESPONSE TO OWNERI understand that the front desk didnt congratulate me and first off they should have when they scheduled my following appointment for a PRENATAL...that is obvious that someone is pregnant. I do hope I change my mind about them.
Dr. Almendarez delivered four of my children. Currently Im 4 months pregnant with #6 and I have NEVER had a single problem with this office. Im high risk and the attention Ive received over the twelve years of being a patient here has been phenomenal. So much so two of my sisters an aunt and my mother all have been patients of his for twelve years as well. Hes an awesome doctor that listens and wants whats best for his patients over his pockets and these days thats not easy to find. I love this place. Ill never go anywhere else 😍
Worst office! Do not schedule care or expect compassion. Office manager has the most ugliest attitude and it radiates through the front office at Toepperwein. I was a patient of almost 30 years! Never again. New management shows. Here is some advice to consider, invest in customer service training, awareness for different womens cancer that go undetected there and how care should be presented. You arent hearding cattle. We are humans! We matter as much as a doctor. My time is as important as yourself. I was charged a missed appointment fee that was caused because you moved the schedule around. Then u soaked up my credit and stull harassed me to pay 12 (2 dollar fee). I hope it was worth it. This family of 4 women (mother, 2 daughters and grand daughter)will not be back!

I’m a loyal person and I’ve tried to give this office the benefit of the doubt on many occasions but I’m ready to look for a new provider. The front office staff seems so bipolar. Sometimes very friendly and warm and other times extremely rude and condescending. Today I was left on hold for 15 min. I hung up, called back and kindly explained that I had to call back after that long wait but was offered no explanation or apology. This is the 3rd time I’ve had to call in 6 weeks over a coding issue on their part and I’ve yet to receive a call back from the office manager. The receptionist was extremely rude, acting as if I was inconveniencing her. I’m tired of being treated poorly by the front desk staff, I’m tired of waiting in the front for 1-2 hrs for my scheduled appointment, I’m tired of having to go 30 min early to find parking, I’m tired of so much leg work to resolve their errors, I’m tired of the lack of education provided, but, mostly, I’m tired of being treated like an inconvenience and a pest when I am a paying customer. I am the reason you are all there. Stop treating your patients like they are bothersome. We are the reason you have a job. After 5 years of loyalty, including prenatal and postpartum care, I’m taking myself elsewhere. Life is too short to never know how you are going to be treated by the people who are supposed to be in the caring profession.
I dont know how many other patients have had to experience Dr. Molly Shields, but I agree with anyone who might have felt as though she DID NOT have any care or concern for them. On my very first appointment to confirm pregnancy, there was already just vibes that felt like she didnt care to see me. During my 10/11th week of pregnancy I visited Dr Shields a few times concerned because I had fever, cramping, and bleeding. She kept sending me back home saying I was fine and literally said to me Well ,theres nothing we can do about the bleeding. I saw her on Wednesday 7/18 because I was bleeding and cramping heavier. She still sent me home saying that some people just bleed during pregnancy... I went home and the following day I was in the ER losing my baby. I followed up wit her the same morning I lost my baby, and I was still crying my eyes out and she just sat there staring at me like I was a weirdo. I apologized to her for crying, and she just looked at me.... HORRIBLE. She didnt check me, didnt do an ultrasound, and didnt give me any advice, counsel, or information about what to do next. I went home and had to Google miscarriage aftercare & what to expect. Not to mention its been 7 weeks since then and Ive called back twice to get my pathology results, and they just keep telling me theyll call me back. The nurses and front desk staff are not the problem. Dr Shields just does not have what it takes to be in this sort of medical profession. No care or compassion from her. During my entire time as her patient, I wished I had another doctor.
I am a new patient for Dr. Shields, and I have to say that she is fabulous. Her manner is pleasant, she is patient, and she listens. As her patient, I feel supported and confident that she has my best interests in mind.The rest of the staff in the office are great as well. The receptionists are friendly, the nurses are great, and the scheduler, Connie, was very patient and helpful.
My wife saw the Dr. Today. He said he was sending her a prescription and never did I repeatedly kept trying to call the office but always got no answer. My wife went back up there for the prescription and all the nurses were sitting around talking. And Dr. Reyes had left about 2:00pm
I started off my pregnancy here, and for the most part IN office everyone is really nice, Dr. Shields is really sweet, and the ultrasound tech is nice, BUT when you call to ask questions regarding your pregnancy, it’s often you feel like a burden to be calling. COVID has been spreading like wild fire at my job and I called to ask for my drs. Recommendations about whether I should stay home or not(as I’m still at the end of my first trimester) at 10:30 am on a Thursday morning, It is now 5:23 on a Friday evening and I have YET to hear anything back now the office is closed until Monday and I likely won’t receive a call then either. I’ve made an appointment with a different office to carry out my pregnancy and regarding pregnancy I suggest you do as well. Especially if you want your dr and office to be hands on and involved.
Ive been a patient at the Toepperwein location for years. The staff has always been friendly. Dr. Reyes is kind with a calm demeanor that puts me at ease. Scheduling is easy. Overall Ive always had a great experience here. I tried getting an apt and due to my work schedule attempted to schedule at the hardy oak location for a quicker visit. Long story short I never made it to that apt. I wont go into details but needlessly I will never attempt to go there again. Id switch to a completely different healthcare system before Id subject myself to the unpleasantness that is at Hardy Oak. I have no confidence in that location and would be worried for my healthcare needs as a result. On the opposite side - I have confidence in Dr. Reyes. I feel safe and welcome in this office. The Toepperwein location is definitely a great choice. So Id like to thank Dr. Reyes and the staff at this location for always assisting me so wonderfully with my healthcare needs.
The staff at this location is probably the rudest, unfriendly group of women Ive ever met. The front desk receptionist is very rude and direct which makes the whole appointment unsettling. Ive seen Dr. Almendarez twice and each time, it was if he rushed my appointment. The questions I had for him I felt uncomfortable asking him because I could tell he was ready to move on to the next customer, like we were just a number. An OB appointment is already nerve wrecking, so when your doctor doesnt treat you with gentleness and care, it makes the whole appointment awful. I will be finding another OB for my annual appointments.
Office staff answered promptly and helped to educate me while working with my schedule to set an appointment. Much nicer than the other office I spoke with located in the quarry.
I just moved to the area and was looking for a provider. I gave this place three chances. They called to reschedule my appointment 3 times now. I am a doctor myself and have a busy schedule. I am only off one day of the week. They rescheduled my appointment from the morning to afternoon and then called an hour before my afternoon appointment the same day and tried to reschedule for the next day. This was before the holidays, so I was unable to be seen for two weeks. I tried one more time to see them and they called me the day before while I was at work to reschedule. I tried called them three times and got put on hold for 10 minutes plus. I was at work seeing patients myself and could not sit on the phone that long. I understand being busy. However, this is a little ridiculous. I will be finding another place to give my business.
If your looking for a great medical office to have your baby, dont go here!! This place discharged me as a patient at 29 weeks pregnant. Was not able to speak to a manager . Who makes these calls? Who decides when to drop a pregnant woman?
This will be my first visit at IFWH Topperwein location. Ive been a patient at the Lincoln Heights location after they moved from the Village Oak location. I was a patient of Dr. Childers for years and absolutely loved him until his retirement this year which he promised he wouldnt do until I was in my 60s lol. Anyhow after reading these reviews for the Topperwein location Im a little skeptical about my appointment today but wont be passing any judgements first and give this office the benefit of the doubt. Im a nurse by profession and look forward to friendly, professional and a doctor with an amazing bedside manner. I treat my patients the way I want to be treated and expect the same if Im on the other end literally. Praying for a good experience!Follow up:After my appointment it was an excellent experience! I saw Dr. Valdez in a very timely manner, staff was friendly and professional and knowledgeable. The exam was thorough and proper referrals were made, looking forward to the next appointment next year. Ive been a patient at the Toepperwein office before I found out about my pregnancy on 2/14/17. I have no idea how many weeks I am. It seems like whenever I go in for a appointment, Im being told something different. My last visit on 8/19 doctor Reyes said Im 33 weeks. So almost two weeks later, Id be going on 35 weeks this Saturday. Im having a sharp pain on my top abdomen and spoke to the nurse who now tells me Im 33 weeks. She states on my last visit 8/19, according to my chart I was 31 weeks at the time. See my point? At the beginning of my pregnancy I thought I was on track but when I go in they say Im a week ahead. I only go to this office because its conveniently 3 mins from my work place. If I were you, Id find another obgyn, where the staff is cheerful and knows what they are doing.
Having to wait an hour + every appt is wild. Just to be seen for five min. 😭😭😭😭
I use to LOVE it here for my last pregnancy when I had Dr Ronald Valdez I was in and out as soon as I got in. But now with Molly Shields Im always here for over an hr and the first few times I met her (in the hospital for gallbladder removal) and the first few appts she seemed so uninterested and blehh when I saw her I immediately tried to switch doctors & when I did that whatever lady I spoke to when I called in was so rude & basically bullied me into staying with her. The only reason Im still here is bc its 5 mins from my job so I can get the latest appt so I wont miss too much work. I have nothing horrible to say about her but if youre unhappy with your career dont take it out on the patients this might be my 3rd child but I still am excited for my pregnancy & when you have a Dr that just seems ehh when you see them it makes it more of a chore to come in than a happy occasion on top of the long wait!
Love Dr.Thompson but it’s impossible to get ahold of any one to schedule an appointment. I have been calling for 2 days NO ONE answers the phone or calls you back. I’m disappointed, it was not like this years ago when I first started going there.
They take forever.. and Dr Molly Shields seems like she isn’t qualified enough to even be a obgyn I go to her plenty of times and she sends me home like what the hell ? I ask her if I’m able to have kids and she says she suggested I get on birth control why would I want to get on birth control if I’m trying to have a kid? She sucks over all as a doctor I wish there was a negative star so I can give her a negative start . I don’t suggest her even when you walk in it seems like she doesn’t care at all she is just worried about getting paid . I feel sorry for whoever has her as a doctor . She sucks . I will NO LONGER go to her anymore
Dr.shields was very professional and knowledgeable as well as the rest of the medical staff who took care of me however it’s very difficult to get through on the phone I’ve called 6 times and am consistently cut off after 3-4 rings I don’t know if the phones are down or if they are too busy to answer them however im just going to show up in person to avoid that issue
Trying to call for weeks to get an appointment rescheduled and the phone just rings and rings and rings……and rings…I like Dr. Shields though. Very no nonsense, she gets in and gets out and shares important information in an expert manner.
Wait time is terrible. Waited in the exam room for over 45 minutes, it was freezing cold and I needed to use the restroom. Rxs not sent to pharmacy, tried calling the office to find out why, office picks up the phone and places you on hold without asking you to hold, leaves you there for eternity. If I didnt like my doctor I would definitely go elsewhere. The staff is less than professional.
Last week i had an appt. Brittney was super sweet and made up for that. I Came in today for my follow up appt and was greeted by priscella she was smiling , sweet and very pleasant. Erica was also very sweet and professional. Im very pleased with the choice i made to come here.
I was running a few minutes late. They got me in and out easy peasy. Everyone was kind. Doctor Reyes was quick but thorough. Teased me a little about my extended nursing but over all a pleasant experience. Glad to have found this practice that takes the Texas Healthy Womens insurance
Worst OBGYN they never answer the phone, I’ve been a patient for five years and every time if I would go try to see the doctor or if I had concerns about my medication wouldn’t answer the phone or weren’t very helpful or if they would answer they would say they would get a nurse to call me back but they would never call back or follow up with me so I had to go to a whole new doctor office because this OBGYN barely answers, and when I was pregnant and I would tell Dr. Shields something was wrong she was say that’s normal that’s suppose to happen but it was my first pregnancy and I was new to being pregnant and the least she could do if the patients expressed their concerns listen to the patients and be more understanding then just brush off what their concerns are.
The staff at IFW Topperwein have become like family to myself and my fiancé. We are having our first child, and every experience there has been more than pleasant. Alma is an amazing friendly face that we look forward to seeing at every appointment, and Dr Almendarez is wonderful as well.
Have been going to see Dr Almendarez for about a year. Had 2 proceedutes done and both experiences I wasnt fully informed. The 1st one I was never told about a shot to my crevics, which I declined as I am terrified of needles, especially in sensitive areas! Second procedure I was told Id have one sergical site, then they came back and I had to sign that there would be 2, when I woke up I had 5! Thats right, I said 5, and then he didnt even want to see me after it was all said and done. When he did show up (after he was hunted down) he asked me if I needed something as if I was bothering him and didnt just have a medical procedure done. Im switching doctors and contacting the medical board.What a joke!
Do not pick this office if you want to have good service. Worst front desk ever. Secretaries wont even look at you or care about your concerns. Their phone wont work and is impossible get a hold of them and they dont seem to care at all .
As Dr.Molly Shields patient, I do not feel uncomfortable or unhappy with her as most others do. She is professional, and polite. I havent had one single bad appointment with her.
Office staff is horrible !! The ladies who take the calls are rude and have zero compassion. Even though I love doctor Thompson will definitely not be returning
I’ve seen Dr. Valdez a few times already. Both Dr Valdez and the staff have been nothing but lovely each time I went. The wait here is actually not long at all. I moved across San Antonio, but refuse to change doctors or go to any other location because the care I get is worth the drive.
Stay away from this place. Dr. Reyes was not comforting at all and the sonogram tech lady acted like I was an inconvenience to her. Worst experience of my life for my first pregnancy.
Dr. Shields is always very thorough and helpful. She is very honest about all details of the medical process. I highly recommend making Dr. Shields your OB/GYN.
I left feeling violated and humiliated. Please go visit a more caring office. I called the office about my concern. I felt like I was given a canned response and nothing different will be done.
Ive called 5 times this week to cancel an appointment and no one has answered, the phone it just rings endlessly. The other day I waited 45 min just for someone to pick up before I just gave up and hung up the phone.
I was prescribed Lexapro from my doctor. Every single time I run out of a prescription I have to wait 2 weeks without my medication for them to refill it. I think that is neglance on the their part of not taking their patients health seriously. Especially if the side effects of the medication is dizziness numbness and suicidal thoughts& vomiting.
Office manager doesn’t know any of the information she should know as office manager and rushes you off the phone as quickly as possible. This is the most unhelpful doctors office I’ve ever been a patient of.
Very rude staff. Everyone here seems like they are miserable with their job/career. Dr. Ronald Valdez is very rude and seems like he doesn’t care about his patients and is always in a rush. I’ve had a very horrible experience. Hopefully I don’t experience what I’ve expierenced here anywhere else.
Appointment was at 2:50. It’s currently 4:08 and still have not been seen. Good thing I don’t have somewhere I need to be. As well as no one has communicated with me on why it’s taking so long.
Very efficient and courteous check in staff. My doctor retired after 30 years. Nurse attending my new doctor remembered me from last year; very friendly and helpful.
Dr Shields was very helpful, taking time to get to know me, answering all my questions. She was kind and understanding. Office personnel were also helpful. Very good experience.
