Front desk staff, medical assistant and the overall atmosphere was hostile. I had been here before a couple of times and loved it. I am okay with waiting but not okay with attitude. I wasnt sure if I had been early to my appointment or not and these women were very cold and aggressive since I stated I wasnt sure what my appointment time was. I am not feeling well and hearing I can reschedule over and over was rude. These women need to learn customer service and empathy.

Please do not trust your well being with FHCSD. The drs have poor knowledge and are disrespectful to patients. I was kept in a room and after 1 hour when dr did not show up, I found Dr Palma finishing her electronic charting. She had forgotten that she had a patient waiting for her. Then she shows up without reviewing my chart and after telling her my whole history, she says she is not familiar with my medical condition. Please save your health. I have tried them for several years.. they have never been good.

While my needs were addressed, I found the overall atmosphere lacking in warmth and hospitality. Both the front desk receptionist and nurse failed to create a welcoming environment. This aspect of the service is particularly crucial to me, as it influences my decision to invest in more advanced online healthcare services covered by my insurance. Additionally, given the availability of telemedicine options such as Zoom or telephone appointments, the necessity of in-person visits becomes increasingly questionable. Despite the expectation for a follow-up, I am reconsidering my decision in light of this experience and going to stick with the more advanced online services that my insurance offers that can help me with my concerns. overall, everything feels off and the system is very outdated.(I had a visit with them mid may)

Usually, Im not a fan of the Family Health Center staff (if I were to ask 3 different people the same question, Id receive 4 different answers???) HOWEVER, that is NOT the case with the Hillcrest location. The staff at the front desk (2nd floor) is amazing, so helpful, and handle tasks quickly and efficiently. This goes for Dr Savil as well, she is incredible and will go above and beyond to assist the patient in every way possible. They always greet me by name the moment I walk through the door, and thats before Ive even signed in. I really appreciate all they do,

After four years of mental healthcare services with them, I was told in a forceful way to switch all of my primary care to their company, or else. Needless to say, I am sticking to UCSD. An official grievance has been filed with Medi-Cal, and to this date, still ongoing.I only needed a therapist and a Medical Case Worker. This, after being transferred around at FHCSD to whomever they chose to take on my care. I will never transfer my specialists and the infrastructure of care I have already had at UCSD to their clearly bullying and inefficient administrators.

I came here yesterday at around 3:45pm for routine bloodwork that I am required to do ever since my recent stroke and heart attack. The receptionist at the front desk had an absolutely vile attitude. Rolling your eyes and glaring at me contemptuously when I walk up to the front desk is far from acceptable behavior. I have been to this location twice, and each time she has made me feel very bad for being there. Her contempt for people is on blatant display, and Im amazed that she feels she can treat people so disrespectfully without consequences.

Lack of organization. The front desk there treats you like you are a bother for being there. They should try kindness, especially working in healthcare. Being rude is not cute or funny. The phlebotomist took my test and then she told me to go home because she said the Dr. would call me in 3 days. Then as I’m driving home, I got the call from the office asking me why did I leave? Very unprofessional, I never got treated for what I went in for in the first place. Will not be coming back here. Staff needs better training. I suggest having community meetings to celebrate your employees because they look miserable back there, celebrate your employees so that they can begin celebrating your patients. Then they will stop making the clinic a horrible experience.

Ive never been made to feel so bad about myself as I have here. I was trying to establish care with the clinic and accidentally came late to my appt. The receptionist told me to come back later and I could try to get in if someone else no-showed. The charge nurse called me back and told me he didnt have any time slots available for 3 hours and that I ruined my chance at establishing care by showing up late. I already felt like a total failure for missing my appointment earlier and to be spoken to so harshly sets my health back at least a month. I dont plan to ever return here. Now I have to wait to select a different PCP AGAIN because this office feels so uncaring.

Came for the night clinic because I was told it was a walk-in clinic. When I got here, I was then told it was only if someone cancels their appointment. When I shared the email from their representative showing that I was told it was a walk in night clinic, the desk clerk (Andy) simply repeated that it was only if an appointment is canceled and no further guidance, assistance, or cares were given. After this, all the staff I met was amazing and showed they cared. Jeremiah, Mona, Christina, Trina, and Mario made it worth while and a great visit!

I came in for an appointment today at 1:25 p.m. I came in with my fiancé to get a women’s wellness check. The two young receptionists on floor one were extremely disrespectful and were very intrigued with my personal relationship. Both ladies constantly kept gossiping to each other and making comments. I want to thank these ladies for making up rumors and keeping me from checking up on my health and giving me anxiety and triggering me by accusing my fiancé of harassing me and being forced to do this wellness exam. Not only did these two women already make us uncomfortable but they took the time to speak to another nurse and several other employees about my personal life. To make things worse another nurse walked in and interrogated me and gave me a cheap excuse as to why my fiancé couldn’t be there her words were “males are not allowed during these procedures because it puts pressure on the women and some women are harassed to do these exams by their male partners.” This sounds ridiculous and she adds that two other males will be in the room watching the procedure to ensure that i’m not being touched inappropriately. So if males are not allowed in the room why was I being told that two unknown men to me will be watching me, over my fiancé who I trust and feel comfortable with. I repeated to multiple staff that i’ve been harassed before by a doctor at Diamond neighborhood health center Dr. Sheik she wore a hijab and had black eyes. I am very disappointed that this clinic made me relive this experience. I had waited long enough for this appointment and it sets me a step backwards into trusting doctors again.

The staff orders me around like I am a dog, a second class citizen. No respect for their elders. Yesterday we went to see him because he had a appointment and he had just had a seizure on Tuesday and this doctor was nonchalant about not having his records didn’t care my husband had a seizure and my husband asked nicely if he could talk to someone else that would help because it has been about 6 months and nothing had been done. This doctor literally said I won’t help u figure it out and walked out the room and shut the door in our faces. There was an altercation and my husband can literally get a seizure due to getting stressed and this doctor did not care! The good thing the director of that clinic was there to witness it and helped out at the end. She did everything in 30 minutes what this other Fernando Dominguez didn’t do in the six months.

I was 5 minutes late for todays appointment and they said the doctor would not see me. 5 minutes! I mean how many minutes do patients wait? My last appointment I waited 20 minutes in the lobby after arriving on time, 10 minutes in the examination room until the doctor arrived, then another 15 minutes for a nurse to give me a shot the doctor ordered. Coming from the UCSD health system to FHSD has been night and day for patient experience. Save yourself the headache and not go to FHSD Hillcrest.

Dr Bortner is the only reason I continue to stay here. They are horrible at answering the phone, do not call back even tho you leave 500 voicemails, are ridiculous at refilling medications or doing prior authorizations, refer you to clinics with the most carless doctors, and the nursing station is awful and doesnt answer the phone ever. They call regularly and dont leave a name on their voicemails or a call back number so you never know who was trying to reach you. I am beyond fed up with being treated like garbage as a sick person and having to PHYSICALLY DRIVE DOWN to the clinic to speak to a human about my medications. Their only response to this problem is we are understaffed. I hear that I really do, but how hard is it to have someone actually check the voicemails, how hard is it to hire an office person? Its not the impossible feat theyre making it out to be, so my recommendation is do not go here if you are disabled or chronically ill.

I loved this place when it was Ciaccio and as grateful as I am that they have moved closer to my apartment, the last few months with them has been a bit hectic as a patient. The call center scheduled an appointment for me with a doctor that was unable to give me the treatment I needed, so I had to reschedule twice in order to get my regularly scheduled 3 month check up, with two days left of meds to spare. The phlebotomists here are amazing and every doctor Ive had the pleasure of being in the care of has been more than kind, compassionate and on top of treatment.Im unsure of wether it is the call center that may have the miscommunication or the folks at the front desk, (or if there is a difference) but I hope that since the dust has been settled in the new building for a while now, they are able to treat their patients who have been with them since before the move with the same respect regarding their time and energy as they did before.

A nice lighthearted energy which I rarely see in a medical environment. Dr. Vidaurrazaga made sure to listen, ask questions, engage and work to find the cause of my symptoms, rather than send me off with a script to temporarily subside symptoms. I transferred all my medical files to this clinic because I moved and I have been diagnosed with a heart condition for over 4 yrs taking the medicine, its on my chart and they had given it to me once but denied the refill this time because I needed an appointment when I had just gone 3 days before and I forgot to ask fior refill because I didnt know it had no more refills since they required to go every month to get refill! I have an appointment in a week because the doctor wasnt available sooner so they want me to make a trip just to see if they can refill it I made the mistake of going as a walkin the other time I felt sick but wasted my time because I was denied the medication because walk in visits they dont prescribe! Why didnt the receptionist tell me when I told her what I went there for? I have 5 doctors I see and need to make appointments too so how am i going to make time to have energy to make the trip its physically exhausting literally. I wasnt aware I needed to ask every time because regardless of being aware that refills only last 1 month and they need to do it for us if we are continuing taking a permanent medication! Seems like they might only care about seeing you the most times possible to cash in with total disregard of the wellbeing of the patient! Where is the concern that I will go more days without it and end up in the ER or that it ruins my quality of life and triggers my other health problems? Where is the humanity in this system that they just follow what is best for them but disregard our lives? Feels as they act like robots programmed to just follow their agenda with no compassion. I am very disappointed because I thought this doctor I saw was different than most and she actually cared to help improve our health to HEAL. I am hoping that this doctor proves me wrong because I really liked her.. We patients matter, we are not numbers! Do the right thing to help and HEAL PATIENTS firstTheir only solution was to go to the Emergency room if I am getting a heart attack ! Thanks for the advice!
