Oof. I wish I had read the reviews of this place before we chose it. Go anywhere but here, seriously. This place is nothing like the rest of the UW health system, which is generally incredible. Instead, this place is bottom of the barrel, filled with incompetence and backwards bureaucracy. I wish we could turn back but were already in process with them. :(
A second IVF round would not be necessary if it weren’t for their medical mistake.I am incredibly frustrated with the University of Washington and their handling of our IVF journey. They made a major medical error and their negligence means I will need to undergo an additional, what should be unnecessary, IVF round. My disappointment is beyond words. I recommend not trusting them with your care of IVF journey.I chose the UW because they said they could help me avoid me passing on a dangerous genetic condition to my future children. The UW was supposed to send all the necessary genetic material obtained during the IVF cycle to an external testing facility that they work with for embryo diagnosis, thus ensuring a child which would not inherit my condition. Unfortunately, the UW staff discarded the specifically requested genetic material, leading to inconclusive results, and forcing us into a second round to get answers. This situation is particularly concerning for my health due to how my medical condition makes my body respond to the hormonals involved in the process. The UW fully admitted to their mistake and stated they formed a team to prevent similar issues in the future. However, the UW is trying to shift the blame elsewhere. They have shown complete lack of accountability. This plan was discussed multiple times throughout my care and not following my medical treatment plan is inexcusable.Additionally, there were several other errors committed during my care, including incorrect medication instructions and mistakes in lab orders among other which have only added to our frustration.I strongly urge anyone considering their services to think twice.
Negligence and an unforgivable medical mistake by the University of Washington now forces my wife to undergo a second IVF roundWords cannot fully express my dissatisfaction. I strongly advise against trusting them with your care or your hopes of starting a family. My wife and I chose the University of Washington to ensure a safe path to parenthood, particularly to avoid passing on any genetic conditions to future children. The UW was responsible for sending all relevant genetic material obtained during the IVF cycle to an external testing facility for accurate embryo diagnosis. Unfortunately, their staff THREW AWAY the specifically requested genetic material, leading to inconclusive results, and necessitating another IVF round to get the needed answers. This situation puts my wife’s health at significant risk due to her existing medical condition and the hormonal treatments involved.Despite their admission of error on their end and the formation of a committee to prevent similar mistakes by them in the future, UW is attempting to shift the blame to others. This complete lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially considering this plan was discussed multiple times during my wife’s care and appointments.Additionally, there have been numerous other mistakes, including incorrect medication instructions and errors in lab orders, further compounding my frustration.I urge anyone considering their services to proceed with caution and look at some of the many other facilities with a much better track record.
Extremely poor experience with their egg freezing process.1) Financial counseling office - Catherine and Christina repeatedly lied about my insurance coverage (claiming I had full coverage for 2 cycles). I ended up having to pay $10k out of pocket, which I didn’t realize until I was already partway through the process (having done consultations, ultrasounds, all of my diagnostic blood tests, etc). When asked about the true price of my procedure, they ghosted my myChart messages and voicemails for weeks. I appreciate the idea of having insurance advocates at UW but it’s completely pointless to have financial counselors if they are going to repeatedly provide me with inaccurate information.2) Reception - Completely unprofessional. During my visit, I arrived early and checked in with the front desk. After 30 minutes of nothing, I checked in again with reception who confirmed I was checked in. Another 20 minutes passed before the 3rd front desk employee told me I was never checked in after waiting for almost an hour in the middle of a work day….3) Nurses and care team - Zero interest in my concerns or feedback regarding the process. Dr Chung was nice but I only saw her twice (remotely) during the whole 4 month, $10,000 failed ordeal that was a complete waste of time and money.I’ve already talked to Dr Ryan and Ali Sundet about my awful experience and, while sympathetic, they really don’t value the patient experience and offered zero concrete recourse for unprofessionalism and negligence I experienced during the process. If anyone wants to learn more about the actual patient experience or see screenshots, feel free to reach out but please save yourself the headache and go elsewhere for egg freezing.Credit where credit is due, shoutout to Torey (care team), Maria (front desk), and Courtney (sonographer) for making this experience slightly less painful.
Good luck getting an appointment, even if youre on the wait-list for months and have a referral.
Taken to room by new MA - doesnt promote continuity of care when they dont know anything about why you have 15+ year history with same Dr. These girls are still learning how to take blood pressure.saw the Dr. I do wish she was more proactive in referring me to Drs to improve quality of care. Never crossed her mind. I have to suggest Drs and additional treatments to try solving these symptoms. Pretty sad. Lately it has become difficult to know when and if calls or ecare messages are being seen by Dr. at all. Addendum: this office- Women s Health Care Clinic - was not called fertility clinic the last 20+ years. These Dr.s may have different emphasis for each Dr., but the clinic isnt known as the fertility clinic. I have seen at least 5 Dr.s years ago who left WHCC to have their own office and specialized field of practice.
I could give about 0 stars if I could for this clinic! I have been going to this clinic for the past 1.5 years and to be honest, except for Dr.Ryan, the entire nurse staff is a joke! They don’t care enough about your case and are rude and not helpful. They don’t have simple supplies like a warm or cold pack! After my FET, there was no one to go over the details and to make sure I was comfortable. After that, they didn’t even have the decency to call me up to let me know that my pregnancy failed… I had to beg and beg for someone to call me. When I complained, all I got was a call that made me feel okay, but there was NO ACTION taken, so it was like talking to a low grade customer support that was very clueless!I wasted my insurance cycles and even if they admitted their mistake, they didn’t offer anything apart from sort of , kind of comforting words which probably they never meant… I have lost trust, but I am still with them only because of Dr. Ryan and a couple of their ultrasound technicians, and will have wasted another cycle full of money on these people who DO NOT care a damn about their patients… I asked them to at least have the finance department to help me get the estimate on an entire IVF cycle, at least give me an estimate… they got back to me after 2 weeks, and that too with the wrong quotes and estimates, they didn’t even bother to tell the finance department what my case is… the finance department gave me a quote for an FET when I don’t have even a single embryo left!!!!!!! Seriously, how incompetent can an entire crew of nurses be!
I have loved my experience at UW. Because of where my cycle landed and to prevent putting off out IUI another full week, the staff at UW came in on the weekend to carry out the procedure. They are VERY responsive on MyChart which elevates phone calls and hold times. I am so grateful to them all.
I have been a patient for over 15 years and have received the best care! My provider is professional, but also personable. She addresses my concerns and takes additional steps when necessary. I have never felt rushed or brushed off. I also consider the support staff to be top notch. Im sorry to hear that others have not had the same experiences.
Writing to balance out the experiences of others! Although Im sorry to hear about mixups, the care I have received here in the last several years has been excellent. I adore my primary care physician, who is smart, direct, non-judgmental, and always willing to answer my questions. She listens to what I have to say, doesnt push unnecessary care or medicine, and either she or her nurse has always been responsive within an hour or two of my call when I need a quick question answered by phone. I have had great experiences with the support staff at the clinic as well. (My visits to other specialists in the UW system have been lousy, but the Womens Healthcare Center is excellent.)
11/20/2023, 8:23am and 11/28/2023, 9:15am, I called the scheduler team of this clinic twice, the scheduler team are all very familiar with my case, very warm, thank you all for your hard working, thank you UW Medicine Reproductive Clinic
Very supportive during the entire process and even during the CH incident, received communication from higher management, physicians, nurses, techs, all communications and interventions were on time and everyone was kind and helpful, I did 2 rounds of retrival and 1 round of FET here and it was successful, I am now 7 months pregnant and coulnt be happier
Unbelievably unprofessional. We asked several people at the clinic how much a simple visit would cost with our insurance, and they reassured us that the visit was fully covered by our insurance (They even double and triple checked in their computer). Once in the visit, the doctor asked me if I wanted to get a specific procedure, that was optional but she would highly recommended me to do. One more time I asked her if this was covered, or necessary and she specifically told me I have nothing to lose and she would do it if it was me, since it would be covered. Well, some days later I got a surprise $450 bill in the mail about the visit and the additional procedure, as well as a name of a doctor that I did not even see. This was the most helpless situation I have ever had, and the worst ever medical experience of my life. I feel lied, and taken advantage of. Please, dont care to go to this clinic if you can avoid it, they clearly think in the money before thinking in their patients and will do everything in their power to find ways to charge you more.
I just went into the Womens Health Center with my girlfriend of 5 years to go to a pregnancy class. We were greeted by a female doctor who did not introduce herself and waved us to follow her back. She said shell set us up and the nurse would be in to give my girlfriend a shot without explaining why, then left the room. The nurse came in, sterilized my girlfriends arm and explained a little bit about a procedure which was how the shot will numb her while a small camera will be shoved through her cervix to look around inside to look for overgrowth. I immediately knew there was a mix up and any normal doctor with a bedside manner would have found this out within minutes. I told the nurse that there must have been a mistake and sure enough there was. They had the wrong patient and didnt bother to ask for a name. Had I not spoken up I would probably be suing UW Med. for everything they got. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! HORRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER!!!
The IVF process is incredibly complex. After working with UW reproductive clinic, I would highly suggest anyone embarking on this journey to go to Seattle reproductive clinic. The staff at UW are not helpful in helping you to navigate this process. So frustrating…
Me and my wife went to this clinic to do ivf and was told many amazing things until they took my money. The day of the transfer my doctor was on vacation and a different doctor had to do it. The doctor was very unprofessional and dropped the equipment multiple times. She didnt even know what button to press to turn the darn thing on! Come to say 16 grand later and still not pregnant. Beware. If you want to waste your money than come here.
Really unprofessional. Called the UW after receiving referrals to make an appointment. Was told each time the clinic would be in touch, but they never called… What’s the point of this clinic when it’s impossible to make an appointment?
There was an insurance mix up and this doctors office and they would not refill my moms perscription. She got extremely sick for 2 weeks and they have not even called to follow up with her. Doctors are supposed to care about their patients, not just the money. Go to a real doctor
Wait times are terrible and they call patients out of order of arrival… why have appointment times if you don’t keep them.
Every provider I saw here was kind, compassionate and knowledgeable.
Not sure why everyone else is seeming to have such a problem here, Ive had great experiences every time Ive been.
Clinic falls into the normal range 1-5.
Not the best but just ok.
I was very excited to see myself at this clinic but now Im just disappointed
