I wanted to express my gratitude for the excellent service provided by PNWF team and the nurse care team during my IVF program. Especially nurse care team Erin and Dr. Broughton, I don’t think I can complete this journey without their support. Thank you so much!
Beginning in August 2022, I was a self-pay patient for my egg retrieval (ER) and frozen embryo transfer (FET) and everything in between. I did a consult with Dr Rothenberg who reviewed my chart/medical records. She acknowledged our losses and cancer history. (We consulted with the other large reproductive clinic in Seattle whose doctor never looked at our records and said he only looks moving forward.)Pluses: the medical staff were exceptional. They were responsive to emails (emails seem to be their main form of communication). Lots of educational handouts. They were compassionate after our first FET ended in a miscarriage (the 2nd transfer resulted in a successful pregnancy). I was able to speak with my doctor when necessary.Minuses: the front desk and phone staff appear to be understaffed as it wasn’t quick to reach someone by phone (but once reached they were thorough and friendly). Others noted billing to be rough and I agree - we don’t get storage bills but get the warning emails and mail quickly. Location is the Madison office is poor - have to pay for parking which isn’t the fault of the clinic but could another location that is in a better location be the solution?
Dr. Broughton came highly recommended from one of her colleagues in St. Louis and I’m SO glad that we worked with her and PNW Fertility to grow our family. We have seen multiple providers throughout (Dr. Cottrell, Paige, and Olivia) and everyone has been excellent. During visits, they always take the time to answer my questions. Between visits, I was always able to get my concerns addressed in a timely fashion. I was very well cared for in my time of greatest need. Dr. Broughton was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and ensured that my unique considerations were addressed. Thank you to everyone at PNW Fertility who has made this complicated and challenging journey a much more tolerable and hopeful experience.
Recent Experience as an egg donor.(March-2024) I was hesitant to do it because of the constant pinching and needles but you barely feel anything with these needles because they are so tiny, from the screening process until the retrieval day they were very good at communicating, the staff was kind, the doctor and anesthesiologist took the time to explain what was gonna happen, how long the surgery would take among other information. Nevertheless I believe they can improve coordination when it comes to pick up the post surgery prescription; they sent the authorization to pick up at the pharmacy but I ended up having to pay for it out of pocket, it was a high expense that at the time I did not see coming and was refunded afterwards but it would be easier if the medication was pre paid and just ready for pick up. Aside from that the whole experience was amazing!.
As a 4 time surrogate who’s worked with many fertility clinics, this has been my favorite! The nursing team always got back to me quickly, and made me feel like they really cared about me. The clinic isn’t senselessly strict, and helped us achieve a pregnancy on the first embryo transfer 💫
I went through 4 years of IVF with PNW fertility and the team have always been helpful, empathetic, and supportive. Dr Rothenberg and her team was definitely exceptional. Comparing to another IVF clinic that I went to, that clinic was not as empathetic. THANK YOU so much PNW team 🙏🙏🙏
TL:DR DO NOT CHOOSE THIS INSTITUTION UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF YEARS AND MONEY TO WASTE.I should have read the Google review before I work with them. But they are the first one that referred by my primary doctor. With the strange American medical system, its not trivial to get a referral. So I decided to be a patient of PNWF. It turns out this is a nightmare. After I received the referral, I registered as their patient. I filled up a lot of forms and signed a lot of waivers and finally I could start to make an appointment. I was told the earliest available appointment is in 3 months. At that time, I was pretty early on my schedule. So I just made the appointment without thinking too much. The first incident happened 2 months after I made the appointment. They just cancelled my appointment. They called me to notify the cancellation and told me to call them to re-schedule. Sure, things happens. I understand. So I try to call them back and re-schedule the appointment. I called them multiple times over a few days. No matter when I call I them, 10am in the morning or 2pm in the afternoon. Its always a voice mail telling me I am calling them out of their office hour. Ironically, they will call me back in a little bit and ask me to call them again. I work full time and have a lot of back to back meetings. So I couldnt pick up the phone call during the meetings. After go back and forth for a 3 or 4 times. I have to write them an email to tell them stop calling me and I prefer to communicate through email. Finally, they scheduled the first appointment for me again, and its a month later than the original appointment. So after a long waiting time, I finally could talk to the doctor Zhou. After I told her all about my concerns and our life plans and my special conditions. I was told they could do nothing unless we have been try to conceive for over a year. I understand that doctor has some practice guidance they need to follow. So she ordered some blood tests for me. I have very decent insurance and based on the PDF booklet they attached to the email, the price doesnt look crazy. So I agreed on all the tests (it turns out to be another nightmare later). When the test results came out, Dr. Zhou said I am on the PCOS spectrum but they wont do anything for the first year. So I trusted her and start to prepare for pregnancy. I do my LH tests everyday, we try not to miss any windows. For the first few months, it feels new and fun to me. But after a few disappointing cycles. This start to become very frustrating. After three cycles of monitoring, I contact Dr. Zhous team and give them a detailed list of my records. They just say keep recording and let us know. I was a little bit unhappy at that point, because I dont know what is the point to let them know about this. Clearly, they wont do anything. However they did say I have to waste a year of my life before I can get help. So what else can I do. I keep doing my LH test for another cycle, let them know what happened. So they ended up scheduled anohter Zoom meeting for me again. (At this point, we have wasted 6 months already, not including the three months to wait for the first appointment.)Meeting went ok, Dr. Zhou issued Letrozole for me. But when I ask for Ultra sound monitoring same time when I start the pill. She suggested me try the pill for another 3 months first. I have to ask her for a HSG check. She agreed on HSG.The last straw that breaks all the trust is when I received a $15,000 bill from genetic testing lab. It turns out this lab is not in network with my insurance. And because this is the test that I requested. So its optional but not required. So I have to pay out of my pocket. Because this is not in net work, so my out of pocket limit doesnt apply for it.So at this point, I got a bill of $15,000, I didnt get any help from them besides a few blood tests and one ultrasound check at the beginning. I wasted 9 months of my life. After all of this, I finally look at the Google review and found another patient has similar experiences as I did.
Everyone at PNWF is amazing, understanding, and encouraging. I feel so well cared for whenever I have a procedure. I would and do recommend this clinic to any person or couple having fertility issues. They are the absolute best.
Its a shame zero stars isnt an option. We actually LOVED Dr. Rothenberg but unfortunately, we could not get past the dysfunction and bad vibe of the practice itself. We gave PNWF two chances, a year apart. We were heartened to hear there had been staff changes and hoped it was enough to give a great customer experience but in the end we had to part ways (at our expense, delay, and hardship). Emails from staff were long and often not clear, or lacking vital information. The staff was extremely quick to blame and took little responsibility when things went wrong. They also had little empathy or compassion for the patient experience. The first time around, we had a difficult time even getting reception on the phone, including when we had urgent needs (this did seem resolve the second time however). Orders not sent, no help coordinating outside labs and appointments (not even help with suggestions of where to start). Terrible, terrible experience. This process is hard enough. Our advice? Save yourself the hardship and find a better clinic where everyone is happy to help you.
Very welcoming and comfortable. Absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to see them. The whole team from the front desk to doctors were amazing. Very good experience, highly recommended.
I am an egg freezing patient at Pacific Northwest Fertility and feel compelled to write this review due to the incredibly high caliber of care and depth of compassion and kindness I have experienced as a patient. Needless to say, this process goes hand in hand with a lot of vulnerability. My team (Dr. Massie and nurses Anna and Megan) have had my back every step of the way. They have been so attentive to every question Ive had, and I genuinely feel that they are wholeheartedly invested in my success. As difficult and scary as this process can sometimes be, I always rest easy knowing that Im in the best hands possible. Dr. Broughton, as well as nurse practitioners Kara Clark and Resa Tucker, are also phenomenal. Cannot imagine working with a warmer or more competent and empathetic group of providers.Update from August 2024:I have continued to receive the most comprehensive and compassionate care imaginable at PNWF. The providers I have seen recently (particularly PA Paige Maberry, NP Jane Perkins and Dr. Broughton) have not only provided the most competent and stellar medical care, but it is also apparent just how much they care about their patients overall comfort and ease in clinic. The extra humanity and consideration for the whole patient I feel every time I walk into PNWF makes me so grateful to be a patient there. If you have to go through this oftentimes scary and life altering journey, it sure makes a difference to know your providers are also your biggest cheerleaders.
We have been fortunate to be under the care of highly skilled professionals who are both compassionate and empathetic. We are blessed to walk this journey with them and couldnt thank them enough.
Dr. Massie feels like a part of our family now. Her compassion, diligence, and kindness got us through difficult times and helped us achieve our dream of having a family. My experience with all of the staff was one of thoughtfulness and support. I never felt rushed through an appointment and always felt supported. As a healthcare worker myself, I was always impressed by the bedside manner, and how informed the staff is.
Couldnt say enough good things about this practice. Dr. Marshall was incredible. Her nurses and team were so helpful, kind, and supportive, explaining all steps of the processes and helping me weigh my options. Because of them, I have my family Ive always wanted.
I had high expectations for this clinic, but I felt very rushed throughout my protocol. They clearly have tons of patients, but the quality of care does not reflect the price you are paying. Unfortunately, during every visit, I would barely see my doctor, if I did, it would be a rushed 5-minute visit, with barely any time left for questions. The process itself is rough, you are going through so many hormonal swings, yet you feel like some meaningless number thats there because you are willing to pay. As a result, they made quite a few errors- sent me the wrong calendar for my medications, asked for an impromptu rescheduling because of scheduling errors, and were not communicating clearly. I would not call this positive experience.
Provider was nice but billing is very confusing if your self pay. Pricing is never accurate and unless you are looking for IVF as option they are not very helpful.
:::Update 05/06/2024::: The fact that it took PNW Fertility nearly three years after this review to offer bland platitudes in a response illustrates everything that frustrated with us their clinic. I hope to never hear from them again.Original 2021 Review:We came to PNWF in an attempt to have a second child after a successful IVF cycle and implementation at a different clinic several years ago. PNWF was unable to successfully fertilize an embryo and we cannot recommend their clinic for several reasons:1) Billing Practices. The billing department at PNWF is the department you’ll hear the most from – more than your nurse team and certainly more than your doctor. They required pre-payment months in advance. They refused to follow-up or assist with appeals to insurance. Invoices (for prepayments of services that would not occur for months, if at all, or just the “because we can charge you this” fee) were hard to get. When our insurance company denied coverage of something that cost about 1,500 dollars, we were told that PNWF would not attempt to appeal because (paraphrased) ‘your insurance company is difficult to work with.’2) Poor Communication. My wife and I were left scrambling, one business day prior to injections were to begin, because the nationwide pharmacy we used didn’t stock the (name brand) drugs PNWF prescribed. We had to contact the pharmacy and discover this, and we had to inform PNWF of this issue. To their credit, they found a cash pharmacy that was able to overnight us the drugs, but if my wife and I hadn’t done our due diligence we would have lost a cycle due to PNWF’s lack of communication or followup. Additionally, PNWF informed us that we should be saving the small left-over portion of a particular (expensive) drug in case we needed to stretch it another day – but they informed us of this several days after our injections began, so we had thrown away the excess dosages prior.3) Continuity of care lacking. The final week of injections, immediately prior to extraction, is the most important week of IVF and one you would hope that doctors would pay the most attention to. That did not occur. During that week, my wife saw three different doctors for monitoring, all of which observed different numbers of follicles at different sizes. We believe this led directly to only 1/3rd (33%!!!) of the follicles being mature enough to attempt fertilization – none of which successfully survived to day six and none of which were able to be implanted.PNWF came recommended from friends who had a successful birth several years ago – we were hoping we would receive a similar standard of care. Instead, we were passed around by doctors who seemed disinterested in followup, harassed for payment from an unhelpful billing department, and only progressed as far as we did in the process because we were our own best advocates and pointed out issues that should have been resolved previously. We felt, throughout the process, that PNWF was far more interested in being paid quickly than they were with the successful implanting of embryos. We cannot recommend them.
I have very mixed feelings about this review, if I was reviewing a different doctor and care team I feel like it could potentially be a 5 star review but this review is very specific to the doctor and care team I had.I went through 3 rounds of injections, in 2 out of 3 rounds, the medication schedule calendar they sent was incorrect. And I’m not referring to shifting dates due to the cycle start date. The first schedule the injection dosage throughout the entire calendar did not match the prescription that was sent to the pharmacy. Had I not been proactive and asked about this I would have given myself the wrong dosage. The second schedule was correct. The third schedule they had injections starting on a weekend a pause for several days and injections beginning again. As I’d already been through two rounds I recognized this was strange and asked about it. I was told it was incorrect and they’d send an updated schedule. In the updated schedule a different medication was completely removed. When I asked about this I was told it was also an error and I should continue to take it. The nurses are clearly pulling up a schedule from a previous patient, plugging in new dosages, deleting and shifting items and not doing a very good job of it. On over two occasions this failed. When staying in a hospital two nurses are required to sign off and verify medications/shots before being administered. Clearly this team has no verification protocols in place. I selected this clinic because of the high success rates and frankly I’m shocked they are so successful. This clinic seems to be focused on quantity of patients rather then quality of care. For my first round (and following rounds) they did not do a good job of guiding me through the process, I was very much on my own and had to be very proactive in checking the schedule to make sure it was correct (it wasn’t) and making sure everything was scheduled as needed (it’s very rare my team would actually schedule an appointment they’ll either transfer you to the front desk or worse yet tell you to call the front desk and hang up). Maybe all the boxes got checked or maybe they don’t, it didn’t really seem to matter with this team, it wasn’t about quality of care but rather the number of patients they could get through.I could not confidently recommend this clinic and my specific doctor and care team. However, if you have a different care team you may have a very different experience.
TLDR: PNW Fertility is a factory. The lack of attention to detail and the bedside manner of their staff (both in person and email/phone) needs A LOT of work. Looking elsewhere for care.Ive been seeing Dr. Broughton, who I have no problems with. Her team, on the other hand, doesnt know how to manage patients. Many times, they forget important details of my schedule / current procedures (ex. writing about managing a 2nd IUI when I hadnt even started one) or contradict one another (ex. I scheduled a blood test with the front desk, only later to be told by the team that they dont advise doing that test).Another alarming issue was pure negligence: I went in for genetic testing, confirmed it with the phlebotomist, and got my blood drawn -- only for her to later say she did the wrong test, so I had to get my blood drawn again. It was humiliating and no apology from her. And she still works there so I have still have to see her every time Im there.Im looking elsewhere for care. This place is not it.
Their marketing and administrative staff are completely uneducated on the basics of egg retrieval and egg freezing. Lack of attention to detail; lack of communication skills; inability to answer questions and simply referring from one person to the next or sending along a link in response to a question specific to my treatment...all are unacceptable and makes clear that the hiring process needs a major overhaul. Alysha and Molly have certainly turned away several potential clients to this fertility clinic.
Had one appointment after consulting with insurance, making sure I knew it was my responsibility to pay for costs if insurance couldnt. During this whole process they didnt mention any prices. Met with a nurse, who was 10 mins late, for 30 mins or so. They charged me $399 to meet virtually for the initial appointment! They made a big deal about me knowing who is responsible for costs and at no point did they actually mention how much anything would be. Tried to talk to billing and everyone acted like theres nothing they could do about it. They mentioned that costs would contribute to my deductible - so thats their plan, overcharge until insurance kicks in.
Wow! This team is amazing! My husband and I struggled to get pregnant for 9 years. We did 1 round of IVF and just had our baby girl a few weeks ago. The team is very knowledgeable and supportive. They are quick to respond and are very helpful. I was nervous being put under anesthesia for egg retrieval), and the doctor held my hand and was very encouraging. Each doctor I saw was so kind and easy to talk to. Through the power of prayer and these wonderful doctors we were able to get pregnant with our little miracle! I highly recommend starting your IVF journey here!
Posting again as I was seen at both clinics.& thank you again to the kind front desk!I was treated with care by everyone I encountered here, but am writing this review having moved on to another provider and feeling pretty uncomfortable in retrospect. In short, there are tests and data points which are easy to obtain that the team at PNWF does not seek as part of their standard protocol. I did ask for some of these tests to be done (DHEAS and full Thyroid Panel) and was denied.I went to a new Dr for a 2nd opinion before starting IVF with PNWF, and in just 30 days, I have more information about my fertilitys than I was able to learn in 10 months invested with Dr Zhou and Lamb.I understand that a standard protocol works well for most patients, but when it comes to something as emotionally and financially impactful as fertility, one-sized fits all is a dangerous approach (in my personal opinion). Now that I have a PCOS diagnosis, I can start medication to address the condition and improve not only my odds of fertility treatment being successful, but also my quality of life.I believe more complete testing earlier could have saved money , time and emotional investment in the IUIs and that ultimately, any great Dr would want to do that for their patients. I hope they see this review and make this simple changes!
I had an absolutely amazing experience with PNW fertility. I froze my eggs here in 2017 and both Dr Lamb and Dr Shahine took amazing care of me. Some of my early testing had disappointing results and Dr Shahine walked me through them and maintained positivity without giving me a false sense of hope. She has an amazing ability to deliver difficult news with empathy and maintain optimism. Given my AMH levels, I think I ended up with excellent results after 4 rounds of freezing.
Man, where to start when describing my experience with PNWF?! Dr. Shahine and her team, especially Cassie, are the best medical professionals I have ever experienced. As an out of state patient living in Alaska, there were many additional obstacles that Team Shahine handled seamlessly. I felt well supported in implementing my protocol from afar through clear protocol schedules, email reminders, phone calls, and prompt responses to questions. Furthermore, I felt that the team truly cared for my husband and I and our hopes to start a family. I was met with compassion when we were delivered upsetting news. I truly felt that they were in the trenches with us as a part of our family. Before coming to PNWF, I felt hopeless, lost, and unsure if Id ever be able to have children. Thanks for Dr. Shahine, Cassie, and the team at PNWF, my hope has been restored and I am excited to return to PNWF as we continue on our family building journey!
I have nothing but good things to say about PNW Fertility. My husband and I have been undergoing treatment for infertility since 2016 with no success and no answers. Weve had multiple failed treatments, undiagnosed medical concerns, and a failed IVF cycle. We switched facilities towards the end of 2022 and we couldnt be happier. Dr. Marshall and Dr. Shahine have been so helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to determine what the problems were with our past treatment, correct the issue and redirect treatment. Weve now been successful and we are finally having our embryo transfer next week. The team at PNW Fertility is easy to reach and follow up is outstanding. My husband and I are actually excited about our upcoming transfer and are able to stay positive with the help of the team. I cant wait to start our family with the help of PNW Fertility!
PNWFs billing policy is unethical, in my opinion. Just like any other medical facility, a patient should be billed for services as they occur.Billing 2 years after service seems unethical.
As an egg donor I had an amazing and smooth experience. From start to finish! Thank you for everything. :)
Terrible experience. 20 minutes into our initial consultation that cost $387, the nurse still did not have all of our records in front of her for various reasons. She tried to blame it on the staff however it would be my expectation that all of our appropriate records and tests would have already been reviewed and ready, by the time of our appointment. I had confirmed the previous day that the office had received all of our testing from my doctor and my husbands tests from Seattle Reproductive. Considering the subject matter and the $387 fee for the appointment, her lack of preparedness was highly offensive. And she was late to our scheduled appointment!!
Save your time and money. My wife and I have been trying to work with PNWF for many months now and weve had it. Weve been working with Dr. Zhou and she has been wildly unprofessional. She has refused to refill medications which resulted in 2 trips to the E.R. thus far. She said she could not refill the prescriptions without an appointment, but said she was not available for several months. So, my wife was forced to stop taking an Rx which was unhealthy and not medically sound.Ive also experienced poor treatment. I went in for a seminal fluid analysis and was left to Google to determine what the results were. The office said they have a no news is good news policy and they do not contact patients about test results unless there are concerning results. Also, it was concerning that from day 1 we felt like we were being up-sold. Rather than presenting a step by step approach to our choices, we were being pushed toward the most expensive options. Even when we made it clear we want to understand and pursue simpler, less expensive options first, we were being pushed to consider IVF immediately without a medical justification. One last thing... without meeting in person for an exam, tests, or anything, the doctor told my wife shes worried she has uterine cancer. How wildly inappropriate is that!?!? Now my wife has been worried out of her head for 2 weeks as we wait for her biopsy results.PNWF is very good at billing but unable to provide adequate services. I dont know if they have accepted too many patients or simply dont care, but the result is inappropriate patient care and neglect.I will be filing a complaint with the Washington Department of Health.
The care team and doctors here have been welcoming, warm and attentive to my IVF journey. They prepare info sheets with instructions and go over every step and check in throughout the process. I felt I was in great hands.
The providers do not care at all. I am with team Rothenberg. They missed my ovulation this cycle ( which I can understand) and they did blood tests for which they said they will call in the afternoon. But no call or follow inspite of me following up multiple times and also calling them. Timing is super critical and since it is weekend I am not even sure what should I do next. They have very standard process and every human is different and I dont think they take that into considerations. I feel stuck and miserable. Please do full research before coming here
Cant say enough about how great this clinic is.1. They have their own lab. This is something not all clinics have so please check. This means they have more control of the freezing process and higher chance of survival (proximity, lab quality control etc).2. Clinicians have extensive publication and research background in this field. Not just great educational background but have specialized their focus on improving and studying the technique (see their publications)3. Compassion / Customer Service. Perfect flow of patient care, communication and thoroughness. Fast response, kind, and absolutely compassionate and advocate for womens health and mental health. The small gestures go along way and this clinic, everyone from the front desk, to the nurses, doctors all seem to have a common goal of creating the best and providing compassion for women going through this process.Ive been to 1 other clinic and hands down this clinic is by far the best. When compared to other experiences my friends have gone through, I cannot be thankful enough to be part of this clinic.
We were very impressed with everything at this office. Very professional, very kind, and very good at their job. This was the second fertility clinic we used and so much better of an experience that they dont even compare. Our program was tailored to us and closely monitored. there were people available at all times to answer weird questions and they didnt even mind. The daily wait for appointments was really minimized, I found our visits stream lined and smooth. We were successful after several rounds and now have a super cute baby girl. I totally recommend them.
I have been very pleased with the service I got from this clinic and from Dr Broughton’s team. There is no denying that the journey can be often stressful and emotionally draining; however, this clinic did help our family reach our end result and that’s all what matters. Dr Broughton’s nurses have been very responsive, but there is one person that I have to mention, her name is Jennifer Schilling. Schilling is truly an angel. She is everything a patient needs in a provider. Very warm, a great listener and she’s extremely empathetic. I will never forget my experience with her especially in those vulnerable times, she truly left a very positive experience. I do recommend this clinic.
If youre hoping to donate with a wonderful team of nurses and doctors who will care for and support you every step of the way, I definitely recommend this place. I wish I had come here first before donating with a different clinic last year because in comparison, PNWF outshined in every way. Alyssa, Emilee, Lindsey and the rest of the staff were remarkably supportive and genuinely care for you as a person! If and when I donate again it will for sure be with PNWF 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I cant say enough about how amazing Dr. Broughton and her team have treated me. She and her team have always treated me with respect and emotional sensitivity. Amber and Kristen (sp?) have always taken the time to answer all my calls and have been super supportive when I was being paranoid. I will always be grateful to each of them.I do feel it is my obligation to warn anyone who has a pending appointment with Dr. Marshall... Cancel it! She made me feel like it was my personal failure that I cannot have children naturally. Her comments were crass and hurtful. Please please please avoid her.
One word- Amazing! I have never felt more welcomed and cared for than with the IVF doctors at PNWF, I have so much trust and faith in the work that they do! Every doctor I saw was caring, listened to me, and I never questioned anything we did… and for that I’m so grateful because I am now pregnant! As we leave to transfer to our OB now I’m almost sad to go, I’ll miss them all! I can’t wait to work with them in the future because I know we’re in good hands… IVF is such a scary and unsure process but I couldn’t have planned a smoother journey. Thank you for all your dedication and expertise!
I donated my eggs on Monday and I at first was very scared because of everything that I have heard about egg donation. Everything went fine during surgery I found out that I have OHSS and I was very uncomfortable and so bloated that I could not breath very well. The staff took great care of me and so did all of the providers. I am extremely happy with how I was treated, I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. They call and check on me everyday which I appreciate so much, they are very quick to reply to questions I have. Just amazing! THANK YOU SO MUCH LADIES I COULD NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU ALL!
I had been a patient of DR Broughton after 2 failed ivf treatments in another clinic. Thankfully I now have a baby boy and additional frozen embriyos. Having eggs or embriyos does not mean live birth so I suggest everyone to compare success rates, they are available online. Dr Broughton and all the staff I encountered were amazing. They boosted my morale and gave me the highest chance every step of the process. I am so thankful that I chose this clinic and doctor.
I didnt feel supported or like my care was a priority over scheduling and COVID challenges. Poor communication made the matters worse. Their incorrect handling of a non-fertility related health issue caused me a transfer cycle, due to their insensitive approach that triggered up my anxiety and depression patterns, probably already heightened by the hormones I was taking. The individual providers are all great human beings and professionals but the way the place is run really doesnt help. I would encourage you to look for other options for your care.
This place is grossly understaffed, so you won’t be able to meet with a doctor for literally months (we started in June and as of now Oct is the earliest appointment). The consulting nurses were dismissive of my concerns about changes in my cycle (as though they know it better than I do?) and did not return multiple calls about a time-sensitive issue, leaving us to try and find answers online and through my regular doctor. Save yourself the heartache, time and money. Go somewhere else.
The billing department is the worst. It all started great. The nurses I met initially were very sweet.I scheduled an information session for which I wasn’t told would cost me $300. They called this a consultation when all that was done was gather my health history and give me some brochure with information.Anyways I called to make a 8k+ payment to kick start things and the lady at the billing department (Robbin) got into an argument with me over these $300. She was extremely rude and without compassion. She started defending the doctors when I asked to see the details of my bill and record of my visit, insinuating that I was the liar and not these dr.I literally cried after the phone call. I couldn’t believe the attitude. She was yelling and refused to listen to me. If she wasn’t working from home I doubt she would ever speak to a prospective patient the way she did to me. I’m disgusted and don’t even know if I should pursue treatment with this clinic. Robbin chose to yell and fight me instead of staying calm and collecting 8k. She tainted my experience forever with her unprofessional and combative demeanor. A total bully.
My husband and I had a great experience here. We started about 2 years ago with our tests and treatments. You will start with a nurse practitioner for assessment and they are very helpful and knowledgeable. The staff and doctors were great to work with and comforting through a stressful process. We went through a lot of tests and even surgery before we started IVF as the best course of action. The staff was helpful, friendly and caring. We were successful/lucky with IVF and now have a child of our own We couldnt have asked for better care through such a process. We plan on coming back again for any future offspring. The journey of infertility is stressful, emotional and unpredictable. Its important to go in with reasonable expectations and take it one step at a time even though it may seem like it takes forever. Not everyone is as lucky as we were but the staff here is more than understanding, supportive and determined to help the best they can.
On 7-11-2021 a three year long roller coaster journey ended successfully with the birth of our baby girl, and I can definitely say that this joy would not be possible without the foundational role that PNW fertility center and in particular Dr Lamb team played during this time. While, of course, the happiness generated can bias an opinion, there are 4 key points of value that Dr Lamb team brought to the table that helped to increase chances of success:1) Professionalism: Dr Lamb assessed multiple situations with a structured and analytical approach breaking the specific problem down and recommend the proper course of action. While at the end of the day this is a game of probability - and success is not guaranteed - the team did their best to maximize it at each retrieval and correct course of action for long term success2) Ability to adjust for your needs: experienced professionals sometimes tend to forget the practicality of people life. Dr Lamb (and her team) was always down to earth and able to understand why some solutions could not work for us and be proactive with alternatives that fit our case3) Open and pragmatic: when bad news needed to be delivered, the team did it straightforwardly, without softening the blow but also explaining complex topics with a narrative easy to understand and providing options to facilitate decision making4) Care and speed of response: Any time and at any time we needed help, the team responded quickly and adjusted to our preferred means of communication (e.g email) providing also emotional support for my wife and helping manage anxiety. Indeed they raised expectation also for other doctors on this topic. At the end of the day, it was a very positive experience, probably the best doctor experience I had in my life so far not only in the US but also in any other country I lived.Thank you Team Lamb
We went to most--if not all--of the fertility clinics in the Seattle-Bellevue area. PNW and Dr. Rothenbergs team blow them out of the water. If you want to save your time, money, and frustrations, go here first. Our fertility journey ultimately was not successful, but we felt heard, helped, and supported with a more competent team here vs. any of the other clinics. To those complaining about how long it takes to see a doctor for the first time--you should check around, all the clinics are the same.
This is my second review. After working with them for over a year, I would advise everyone to be their own advocate. I thought they were relatively disorganized with communication, testing, and they also gave up on my fertility before I did. Ultimately, I know I am pregnant because I managed my own care, not because of their work. Also, their follow-up care beyond fertility (in my case POI) is dismal.
I have had THE BEST experience in this office, both Dr. Lamb and Dr. Shahine, 3rd doctor (I dont remeber her name) are very considerate, kind, and caring, I went in for egg freezing cycle, traditionally I get 13-14 eggs but with Doctors experience in this office and ability to choose appropriate protocol for me, they were able to retrieve 20 eggs and freeze 17 !!! This is the best result Ive gotton so far and I did this twice before in other offices, keep in mind I am 37 yrs. I highly recommend this place. Thank you Doctors/nurses you are amazing. The financial office however needs a lot of improvement, they never follow up even when you call and leave a message
PNWF is a wonderful team of dedicated doctors and nurses. The Seattle location is centrally located, and theyve handled COVID protocols seamlessly, never failing to put patient care first. The doctors are compassionate and encouraging, and the nurses are always there to answer questions and help you through the intimidating parts of treatment. Lucky to have a clinic like this in Seattle!
I was a donor here and they didnt treat me like a patient. They disregarded my symptoms and overmedicated me, and I experienced OHSS. When one doctor at the clinic told me this, she told me to tell the other doctor doing the surgery to check for fluid. I told the doctor and she said she wouldnt be looking and I was fine. She didnt let me speak and I went into surgery in a panic. It was a horrible and scary experience. The staff is unprofessional.
I had a TERRIBLE experience with the billing department here. When I first went to PNW Fertility, I spoke to a billing counselor, knowing that I would need to make monthly payments. She assured me that making regular payments was not an issue and that they dont go after people just for a couple hundred dollars. After a few appointments, I was told that I had a less than 1% chance of conceiving with my husband through IVF. We made the decision to stop treatments at that time. Our bill was around $400 when we discontinued services. After we received the first bill, we made regular payments to pay off the rather small balance we had accrued. That was when all the problems started. The online payment system did not post to my account and I was told that I hadnt made the payment until I provided the confirmation ID number. The person on the phone said that the money had posted to someone elses account. She fixed it, and told me since I actually hadnt skipped a payment, that I could have everything paid off by 8/1.I made the next payment and then a few days later received a bill with a negative balance ($-7.45). Two days later, I received a bill for the entire balance of $177.46 due on 6/8. When I called to find out what was happening with my account, I was told that I had agreed to pay off the balance by 6/8 and that they never send out negative balances. They said we owed the full amount because we only made $50 payments and not $96.66 which was never told to me. I said it was very confusing getting a negative bill in the middle of the payment plan and they just kept repeating we dont send out negative invoices and I said how do I have it in my hand then?I will NEVER send anyone to PNW Fertility. This is the first time Ive ever had anything like this happen with a doctors office. They are in the business of making money, not making miracles happen.
My husband and I went to PNWF in 8/2012 for IVF treatment. After the coordinator consistently made mistakes, even an extra $600 in meds., we had a failed IVF cycle. We were advised by our doctor to try Donor Eggs instead. We selected a donor and signed contracts to hold those eggs specifically for us. 2 weeks later we receive an email, not a phone call, stating that all the eggs were used by the original purchaser. What?! Turns out, the original donation is paid by one couple, and whatever they dont use gets resold. None of this info was in any of our paperwork, and was never mentioned by anyone on staff. After a nasty phone call from the head of the donor egg program, Stephanie Frickleton, who stated that this scenario had only happened once before, we decided to stop doing business with PNWF. We called the office to cancel our last payment but she had taken it upon herself to call and cancel before we could. I was offended. Weeks went by and we left numerous messages to have the office administrator call us back with answers as to what they did and why, but no-one ever did. We finally received an email copy of our medical records and were hurt all over again when we saw what Stephanie put in the notes. She played herself as the innocent and made us out to be insane, and she never included that she lied to us about the origin of the eggs. So we get to share that with every new doctor we visit. Also - one more very disturbing thing I encountered at PNWF: On the day of my IVF egg retrieval, I walked into the ladies room and saw a Lab Technician flushing a stainless steel pan of BLOOD DOWN THE TOILET.Im pretty sure youre not supposed to do that.I will never recommend this facility to anyone, ever.
There are plenty of positive reviews, which I all agree with. I thought Id share some helpful tips on getting there and parking. If driving alone, your best bet is to park job the garage which you will see just to the right of the main entrance. Street parking if very difficult, including on weekends. If dropping someone off (an accompanying companion is not allowed due to covid-19), keep in mind that your cell phone will not get signal in the garage. Consider dropping off at front entrance and then looking for parking. It will take a while but at least you will receive the call/text when the patient is done.
As a fertility acupuncture clinic we work very closely with Pacific NW Fertility and they are always very responsive and provide thoughtful and effective treatment strategies for people trying to conceive. I never worry about the treatment they will receive at PNWF. We highly recommend PNWF to our patients.
I dont recommend this place. I was never allowed to speak with an MD, the whole time I dealt with a nurse that make mistakes interpreting ultrasounds and didnt really know what to do. After all the initial testing (only blood testing) she said everything seemed fine and we did a natural IUI without success, only after I moved to a different city and find a new OBGYN specialist on fertility, and requested my medical record we learned that we had sperm issues, and the new doctor decided to check on all fronts we found that one my tubes was blocked. Basically, the nurse misinterpreted all test results (ultrasounds, blood and sperm) and took a short cut to IUI by not doing the fallopian tube test, but wasted our money and whenever we asked for a doctor they said she was very experienced. Very unsatisfied with this place.
Truly loved working with Dr. Marshall and Dr. Lamb, they made me feel so supported and like part of the PNWF family. They answered all of my crazy questions at odd hours and were very responsive. Looking forward to working with them more in the future!
I realize Im writing this from a little different view than most. However, I LOVE this place. Ive been a donor several times and they are so caring, you dont feel like just a number and a commodity. They also dont pump you full of extra unnecessary drugs. Other places put you on injectable drugs for a month or so, with multiple shots daily, whereas PNWF only uses injectables for about a week and a half. I like the fact they use hcg AND Lupron to trigger, as I have a much easier time (and recovery) with their method as opposed to only a massive dose of hcg.I just cant say enough about how great they are and what a pleasure they are to work with.
I send my fertility patients to PNWF because they are kind, warm and professional. I know that they will be well cared for and I trust them. They also have really great success rates!
The staff is so nice. The location is... eh... parking sucks. Crazy downtown Seattle. Other than that, all is good. Their Bellevue location is better, way better. Parking is free for the 1st hour.
Had a very bad first impression in here. I was there with my wife only for consultation which was supposed to cost us only 380$, but later on they sent a bill of 550$, because they did ultra sound of my wife without telling us that it will cost 180$ and we thought it is a part of consultation. Then they never shared the results of the ultra sound with us and after some inquires they said that I can get it from your patient account on their website; which is of-course very complicated.
I had a great experience as a donorI highly recommend this clinic!Everybody was really nice and was there for me the entire processGreat location, nice clinic, and everybody was on time for the appointments
I went here for second opinion after failed treatments/diets with another clinic. What I was told was that I was to lose 30-50lbs before they would TRY and help me. Then sent me on unnecessary appointments with outside doctors because they couldnt or WOULDNT help me.
Pnwf was amazing throughout, very knowledgeable doctors and ARNPs. Highly recommend. They were very patient enough to answer any queries during the time.
I cant say enough nice things about this place. They made our dreams come true but they also were there for us when it didnt work out. They went above and beyond what you could ask for and cant say enough.
Had a fantastic experience with Dr. Broughton and the team at PNW Fertility. I appreciate them so much for helping us grow our family.
The medical assistant named Tatum didnt care about the patient at all. She was extremely rude.
I am deeply grateful for the thoughtful, professional and kind staff. I have a beautiful son thanks to them!
Me and my husband had the best experience this place was affordable and they was senstive to our needs and helped us through everything. Best place to go
We are very happy with Dr. Marshall and the staff at PN Fertility.
Love this place
Terrible communication
Amazing experience! Conceived our twins here
We got pregnant through 1st round of IUI with Dr. Shahine’s help. We know IUI success rate is not super high so we are really lucky.Thank you Dr. Shahine and PNWF team, for being so knowledgeable, professional and kind. I love Dr. Shahine’s informative YouTube videos when we struggle with infertility. And we appreciate how clear and fast the communication is at PNWF. Our baby boy was born 2 months ago and he is healthy and strong. Wish all family achieve their goal soon!
