Mixed reviews from our time spent at Sanford. My wife and I recently underwent a fertility journey over the past few years. First off, it took over 4 months to get into the clinic to begin the process. I cant exactly blame this as they really are very busy. All of the staff were very friendly while we were there. The original doctor that we worked with was fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable and very skilled with the communication aspect of her job. She did a great job at making my wife and I feel comfortable and was very honest about potential outcomes ect. Unfortunately that doctor left the practice. Others that we worked with were still good doctors, but were lacking in certain areas. The overall experience was positive until the very end. Ultimately we were unsuccessful with our fertility journey with Sandford. During IVF we were receiving regular updates about our embryos and their progress. On day 7 the doctor called my wife and informed her that all had died and delivered the information with very little takt and without any explanation. That phone call was the last we heard from Sandford until we called them to ask for a video conference call with the doctor so we could find some sort of answer as to what happened. We were unable to get a viable answer. I felt as though there should have been some form of follow up initiated by them instead of just leaving us heartbroken and waiting for some form of communication as to if there was a next step.Again, overall it was a was a positive experience while we were there, but communication seems to be the only negative I can offer.

The staff was very professional, and knowledgable. We did 4 unsuccessful natural cycles with meds and when I brought up that I was not feeling right I was ignored and told it was just the medicines. We went on to do 2 IUI which were unsuccessful still feeling off, asked about blood work 3 different times between May 2023 and July 2023 was told everything was fine in January 2023, so there was nothing more to look for. We took a break in August 2023, and I still felt off and went to my primary to find my blood levels were all out of wack and not viable for pregnancy. I messaged the doctor and was told to let my primary handle fixing it they had no suggestions to stabilize my bloodwork. Vital things that were off was extremely low Iron, Vitamin D, and my thyroid levels were high. A few other things as well were abnormal. I wont go back due to lack of care, and because they did not listen just kept telling to push forward.

An absolute billing nightmare. You will continue to receive charges and bills from this clinic LONG after you terminate treatment. A single office visit will usually result in a bill from the lab, the fertility clinic, and sometimes the hospital..I wont speak negatively about the doctors or the staff. They all try very hard. The receptionist is amazing and will remember your name months afterward when you have to go in to ask the business office what theyre still billing you for. However, at the end of the day you need to remember that this is an elective clinic and they are selling you services. Im not suggesting that they intentionally sell you unnecessary services. Im saying that if things dont turn out well and they see an outstanding balance accruing on your account they will send in a doctor that youve never met to coldly tell you that you should take some time before starting again. (Not a coincidence, weve been through it several times) They require immediate payment for services (no payment plans) and they will start sending things to collections before they are even able to tell you how much you owe them or even what some of the charges are for.Four months after my wife stopped treatment we were still receiving new billing charges from them. I talked to the business office and was given what I assumed would be the final amount since we hadnt been there in months. A couple of weeks later when I tried to pay that amount, the total had increased by 30%!!!! And three business office people standing around a computer for ten minutes STILL couldnt tell me why it had increased. If youre reading this and seeking fertility treatment in the area, you dont really have many other choices. Hopefully things go well for you. There are some very good people at the clinic who will try very hard to help you. Its unfortunate that this clinic is run by an extremely incompetent business office who wants their money immediately, even if theyre completely unable to tell you what theyre even demanding money for.

I was a patient here for 4 years and did every treatment under the sun including 6 ivf cycles and yet unfortunately still didnt get our miracle. I saw both Dr. Hansen and Dr. VonWald. I will say there are some very caring people here- the nurses Kati, Amy, Holly were great, the ultrasound techs were all wonderful, and the receptionist, Stacy was AMAZING. She knew me by name and was so personable. It made coming there so often not so bad. Even though there were some great staff, unfortunately they werent able to help me and I had to be my own advocate and find another doctor in Illinois to suggest other tests and treatments. Billing was frustrating and they werent always the most helpful or friendly. I was also mistakenly given the wrong test/procedure and ruined the whole timeline. Overall, Im glad there is this type of service so near to where I live, but I also wish I would have looked into switching clinics instead of after 6 ivf cycles.
