I have recently switched my obgyn office to associates for women. I am expecting which is so exciting! But I have to be honest aside from being able to do bloodwork and sonograms in the same location, the Dr.s and staff here are not professional and have no bedside manner. They rush in the room and rush out… I’ve had 4 visits and every time I leave with so many ?s Because the Dr walks in talks over you, does the procedure/exam and walks out… when I can ask any questions, I get dismissed as if my concerns aren’t important. makes you feel so irrelevant. 😒After reading many other reviews,, I might be looking for another obgyn office…
If I could give zero stars I would. I arrived at my appointment, which was scheduled a month out, to be told they dont accept my insurance. All of my information was given well before hand and no one bothered to look into it. Their site says they do accept the type of insurance I have but apparently thats a lie. I highly recommend going somewhere with a staff that is capable. This is not it. They wouldnt even take the time to call the number on my insurance card and double check on things. I was looking very forward to seeing the Dr I had scheduled. Huge disappointment in the staff.***After leaving they did call back to say they straightened everything out and I could come back for my appointment. I did go back. And the appointment was just fine. I saw Dr Auerback she was great as was the rest of the staff.
If I could give less stars I would. Went here with my first son, when I went for my 29 week appointment made my doctor aware I had multiple signs of premature labor. Was brushed off and told I was fine, i then gave birth to my son 2 days later. That was after they tried to get me to pay $3,000 up front for my delivery that hadn’t happened yet. After I had my son not once did my doctor come to see me or my son who spent 3 months in the NICU because of their negligence. It was an incredibly traumatic experience that would have been avoided had I gone anywhere else for OB care. Go anywhere else.UPDATE: It has been three years and we are still dealing with the effects of my son’s premature birth. This practice is disgusting and needs to be shut down. After reading other reviews it’s insane the amount of people whose children these so called doctors have allegedly murdered or severely hurt. This practice screams lawsuit, if you value your child’s life, you will avoid this practice at all costs.
Taylor is incredible. Never before have I had a medical professional explain in such detail things I should be doing for my health. There was no judgement, just genuine support. I cannot say enough about my experience with her.
Kavety is the reason our son is no longer with us. As a Dr we trusted her. We believed in her and for that we will always be sorry. Went in to have our second to last ultrasound and the sono tech told us that we should have the baby sooner than later because the week before he was growing he was perfect but when we went in for the second to last ultra sound he had not grown. He wasnt taking in enough nutrition. They could have delivered him and gave him a fighting chance however kavety told the ultrasound tech no and that we had to wait a week?!?! A week for what!!! Because two days later I went into labor and kavety shut it off said I wasnt having fast enough contractions and moving fast enough. I was dilated at 1 and contractions were continuing she gave me a ton of shots and sent me home in the morning. Two days after that I had my last ultrasound went in and our son had passed away. She is the reason our son is no longer with us she didnt give my baby a chance. Maybe he might have passed after delivery but at least he would have had the best chance if she just delivered. During the pregnancy I also asked for her to check my blood work for blood clotting conditions because it runs in my family. She told me I was fine and that I was making a big deal out of it which is really funny because of her I didnt find out that I did infant have a blood cloting condition until I switched over to a wonderful new dr who did check for everything that I was asking for. I ended up getting a blood clot because of kavety because she told me I didnt need a blood thinner when infact I do. She is not a Dr. A Dr is someone who helps you. She cost me more than money because money wont bring my son back. She cost me My world, My life, My Son!!!! She is worth less!!! Please run, run right out of her office. I know lots of amazing nurses who all ready have.
I would definitely deliver with them again. I met two great doctors on their staff. My only thing is listen to your body and never stop fighting for answers. I have had bad right side pain since March. Was told it was the baby pushing on different organs. Went to ER twice. They said maybe gallbladder. I told my OB. She put me on heartburn meds because it was the baby causing pain. I had the baby in May, pain was horrible second day after birth. I told the doctor at the hospital and he said my chest bones are still healing from birth. Continued to have bent over screaming pain. My primary (not at this office) did an ultrasound and found gallstones, but increased my heartburn meds because it wasn’t severe enough. (I guess screaming out in pain worse than labor for 3 hours, few times a month isn’t severe enough) and finally went to upstate hospital two weeks ago. I indeed am full of gallstones and have to have my gallbladder removed ASAP. Ask for the tests. Advocate for yourself. It was my first pregnancy I didn’t know any different. The back pain I had throughout pregnancy lines up with gallbladder. I most likely suffered my whole pregnancy with gallbladder issues, but was told once you give birth it will all go away. It in fact did not.
The nurses and secretaries have always been kind to me. Had I written a review about my previous doctor here, it wouldn’t be a 5 star, but he’s since retired and I have Dr. Taylor now. She is hands down the most caring and understanding doctor I’ve ever had. She seems to actually care about her patients and listens to them. She’s great at explaining things to patients and answering any questions!
I was scheduled for a routine ultrasound and not given much more detail than that. When I arrived for my appointment I was told that it would actually be an internal ultrasound (much more invasive than I had been anticipating). When I brought up my concerns because of a previous trauma, the ultrasound tech informed me that their office was very well known for not warning patients of invasive procedures ahead of time. Two stars because every other staff member I interacted with was extremely friendly.
I have gone to this practice for nearly 20 years and my God, they have gone down hill SO badly!! All of their best doctors have either retired or left the practice. The nurses, office managers and receptionists are rude and unprofessional. The doctors are always in a hurry and dismissive. When I was there last month my regular doctor made me wait an hour past apt time because she was too busy courting a new doctor they were trying to hire instead of seeing patients. I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child and it is literally impossible to get an appointment with them even 4 weeks out! Ive been forced to go to offices further away and see a doctor who is not my normal doctor because they never have appointments somehow. This last visit pushed me over the edge and I am on the search for a new practice. The doctor I was forced to see because my regular doctor is too busy ended up refusing to see me because I couldnt wear a mask due to blood pressure and breathing/anxiety. They have made my husband stand around outside and God help you if you cant get childcare while you have a visit!! Please avoid this horrible practice!
I absolutely do not recommend this clinic to ANY one who would want to have full control over their own care. You are mandatory to do an annual every year or your care for any other health concerns will not be addressed. Not that I need to explain myself, but I am very intuned with my body and I only wanted specific care, unless I deem otherwise. Let me make this clear, I was willing to make an appointment to see my doctor and discuss the current care I needed, that however was refused because I do not want an annual well woman check. Apparently you do not have any form of bodily autonomy rights whatsoever in this clinic. It is disgusting what one will force upon another just to secure their pockets! This is a direct violation of bodily autonomy!
It was my first visit to this office, being 8 weeks pregnant. I saw Dr. Auberbach who has ZERO bedside manner, not wam or friendly in the least bit. When I came in the room I saw Pap smear stuff sitting on the counter, and I told my husband I wasn’t doing that because I had a regular pap earlier in the year with the provider I switched from. When I told the doctor that, she said ‘well I guess that’s ok for now’, as if it was HER choice? She proceeded to give me a gynecological exam despite me saying I did not want one, incredibly invasive because she completely ignored my request. When it was time for the ultrasound I sat up to grab the wand underneath the sheet and she told me to sit back and then stuck it in me. I told her I’ve never had a practitioner do that before, I’ve ALWAYS inserted the wand myself. She shrugged her shoulders. I told the front desk I do not want to see her again. I’ve heard good things about doctor Bailey but I don’t know the likelihood of being able to see her in each appt. I have an appt coming up in two weeks to see doctor Bailey. But after reading all of these terrible reviews I’m not sure this is the office for me. Also my nurse was super rude. She said ‘you our down 12/13 for your first menstrual period, well which one was it 12 or 13?’ I was like lady it was so long ago I don’t know pick one. She questioned me when I told her I quit smoking weed upon my positive pregnancy test, told me to go across the hallway to give my urine sample, then told me ‘you were in there a while I was getting nervous’ how fricking rude is that? Of course all my labs came back negative for weed and whatever else they tested me for. It was a terrible first experience. Terrible.
Dr Kavety and Dr LaRussa are less than par doctors. Kavety allowed a resident to give me botched stitches that took years to get insurance to approve any sort of surgery to fix. Watched while he did it and said “it’s okay we will fix it when you have another baby” Larussa will treat you like dirt if he thinks you are overweight or if you are young. Sent me home with a staph infection, mastitis and 103 degree fever 2 days after having a baby. Oh, and throw all respect out the window if you and your partner aren’t married at the time of your child’s birth. I could say way more than this but I won’t. I have since left this practice. But beware of these two in particular.
Even though I was very stressed and disappointed I couldnt bad seen until 8 weeks they have been an amazing group of doctors and nurses. They have been more then willing to answer ALL of my first time mom questions & explain everything in depth. They get results and call you immediately, being considerate of your personal life. The wait can be a little long, but thats due to the amount of time they give patients who need it. When I wasnt feeling well they allowed me to come in an hour early to see the doctor, so I could get home & rest. Overall, one of the better doctors offices Ive been to.
I have 6 kids and I decided I wanted my last one delivered with this practice! And I would say this was the best experience! Such a great group of caring staff! Be patient with them because this life is hard enough. Unfortunately I’ve watched others treat some of this wonderful staff terribly and I was just disgusted. I always feel so welcome and cared for since the day I walked in to this office! James Street is my normal but I’ve been to Fayetteville as well. Thank you Dr.Rogers and Taylor Reardon for taking such good care of me!
Taylor Reardon and Katie Spillet are absolutely Amazing!!!! I didnt have a great experience with AWM during my first pregnancy until Taylor Reardon saw me at the end of my pregnancy. She listened to all my concerns and was genuinely caring, she completely turned my experience around. Now during my second pregnancy Ive gotten the chance to see her and other doctors but again Taylor by far is the only one who gets to the bottom of how your actually doing. Also had the pleasure of meeting Katie Spillet the midwife and shes so amazing and caring!!! These two doctors completely changed my perspective on AWM.
First of all, I dont remember this office address as I dont need to memorize their address. The reminder only says north syracuse location. Looked at the website, and they had at least 3 addresses there and I clicked on directions to their north Syracuse address. Surely enough, it was the wrong address. I called them 10 minutes before my appointment that I will be about 5-10 minutes late. Was told to reschedule, theyre not even empathetic about it. I was so upset because they dont even consider seeing me because I am a tad late and I did CALL! IT would make a difference if they are nice about it and say, hey... she really cannot see you but let me ask the provider if she can do something. BUT, they decided that I should be reschedule after I am about 5 minutes away from their location. I am going somewhere else. If they dont care about me, I would rather find someone who cares.
Brought my daughter to Dr Auerbach for her first GYN appointment ( Dr Auerbach is also my provider). When asked afterward My teenage daughter said she was nice, felt comfortable, and listened to….even after I left the room. We both give her 5 stars…. Which means a lot coming from me as she was my surgeon for a total hysterectomy as well.
The quality of care given at all AWM locations has gone SO downhill the last few years. I have been a patient here for 12 years and recently switched when I got pregnant because I couldnt handle their messy schedule and lack of response to patients. This practice has grown tremendously over the last 5 years, and it seems that the more providers they add, the harder it is to be seen or to get through to anyone on the phone. The final straw was when I became pregnant. I attempted to call and get an appt for 8 weeks to confirm the pregnancy. The woman on the phone had availability but for some reason thought in her opinion that I should wait til 9 weeks. I advised her that as a first time pregnancy Id like to be seen as soon as they are able, she didnt care. At about 5 weeks I started having complications. I called several times, leaving message after message, and never once heard back. I called the front desk, they just shipped me to the triage voicemail. There was zero sense of urgency for anything. It wasnt until I switched practices entirely and submit my paperwork for a record release 2 weeks later that I finally heard back from someone at AWM asking why I was leaving the practice. For anyone looking for individualized care, whether it be routine gyn appointments or a pregnancy, go somewhere else. Make the switch. This place sucks. They have a few good providers that I will really miss, but I certainly wont miss having my appointments being all over the county at different offices with different providers, none of which read the chart before you are seen or have any clue if you were seen 3 days ago or 3 years ago.
The nurses at this office and the doctor were very dismissive. The doctor always seemed in a rush to get to the next patient. It is very obvious their main goal is to get as many patients in and out to make as much profit as possible. The biggest concern I have was also lack of standard practice. After doing some research on my condition, I found out that the doctor was supposed to perform a biopsy (this is standard practice). Which he did not mention at all to me. I scheduled another appointment and had to request a biopsy. You could see that he was extremely annoyed and unhappy with me questioning his competence. I have since moved on to another practice but I am still dealing with their incompetence. I signed a record release form which apparently got lost. I now need to submit yet another release form. I highly recommend avoiding this place at any cost.
I highly recommend not to go here! They are awful. They Don’t listen to your needs and secretly do things behind your back. Also, they told me I didn’t have high blood pressure and my blood pressure was in fact very high and I needed to be on blood pressure medication. This was right after giving birth. Please do not go there.
Dr. Makhlouf and nurses were amazing. The rest of the staff was awful to work with. My baby was diagnosed with SCID and I was unable to make my 6 week PP checkup. I had to reschedule three times because I was told I wasn’t allowed to cancel the appointment. They were not understanding to my son’s case of health at all! And in the end I had to pay a late cancellation fee of $25 even though I had tried several times to cancel. I will pay the fee, as I would rather lose $25 then keep dealing with the reception staff and their drama. As a result, I will not be returning to this practice.
This was my 2nd appt that Dr. Michelle Auerbachs office has canceled on me. I made the 45 min trip down there only to be turned away bc I had my child with me. I was told, when I arrived, that if the child was in a carrier then I can still be seen. So somehow my 3 yr old that doesnt go to school has more germs than a baby that gets picked up & carried around by people. Now, due to the cancellations on behalf of this office, I am over 2 years past due on my medical care. This place says they care about womens health! Yet, bc Im a mother, I was turned away. Thanks for caring about my health! The very least they could have done was sent out notifications that additional ppl may not attend appts, as I have seen some other offices do. It amazes me that this was the office I attended while pregnant with my child, the same child that was reason I was turned away & unable to receive healthcare. SHAME ON YOU ASSOCIATES FOR WOMENS HEALTHCARE! You ought to change your office name to something better fitted for a place with lack of care, skill, & empathy for the women and mothers that visit your practice.
Dr. Bailey was kind, compassionate, through and never in a rush. I always felt listened to and got great advise throughout my pregnancy. She even went out of her way to make visits fun for my 1.5 yr old daughter when I had to bring he along. If I could, Id leave 10 stars.
Went to this office for an Ultrasound following abnormal findings via a different office. My regular prenatal care is not through this office, but as my practitioner does not have their own US machine I always utilize other community providers. Despite this I was still required to see their doctor following my US- though he provided no actual service I was still billed for and required to see him (There was no regard given to my preference to have female providers). The US tech herself was wonderful and the only reason for 2 stars, reception staff were friendly though slow and disengaged. Im extremely frustrated with their billing process as they did not send me bills following this appointment for several months then once I finally received a bill (dated October 10th), and then 4 days later received a threatening letter stating if I did not pay my $20 bill within 10 days I would be sent to collections. AWM claims this was the 3rd bill sent to me (it was not, I keep very close track of everything I receive in the mail), but their billing dept had no idea what the standard practice was for when these threatening letters are sent in relation to billing statements. I of course paid my bill as soon as I received it via their online payment option, but they could not confirm that had been received either. What makes it all the more infuriating is that fact that I offered to pay my (known) $20 copay at the time of my visit and it was not accepted at that time. I will never return to this office as I do not appreciate being threatened with collections (my credit score is very high and Ive NEVER had anything in collections) because the billing staff arent able to keep themselves organized.
Dr.Auerbach is fantastic! I started coming here a few years ago and she and her nurses have always been fabulous! They always make sure I know what is going on, that I’m comfortable, and they always answer my questions to the best of their ability! The only issue that I have ever really run into is every time I call to schedule an appointment I’m always put on hold for long periods of time which is sometimes frustrating, but I get it they’re a busy place. Anyways, I definitely recommend AWM!
Dr. Chanatry Rogers is amazing!!!When it comes to OB-GYN practices, we chose the DOs over MDs because the DOs focus on whole-body treatment and healing and they have a critical understanding of minimally invasive treatments over the MDs. That is why me and my husband chose Dr. Rogers.Pregnancy is one of the most naturally miraculous experiences in womens life and we believe that it has to be handled really well. Choosing the right Dr. is very important and life saving. Dr. Rogers has been great in many aspects during all my pregnancies. I came back to see the AWM offices for my second and third pregnancy because of how I was treated by Dr. Rogers. She really cared for her patients which is demonstrated by how she communicates with patients.Although she cared for me during my prenatal visits during my first pregnancy, I wasnt lucky to have her during my delivery. My delivery wasnt that pleasant. But on my second delivery, she was there all day from the start to the end and my suffering due to the delivery got minimized to a great extent due to her continuous follow up and great decisions at the right moments.Thank you so much!!! for your great service Dr. Rogers and I highly recommend her to others who need to be in good hands in their pregnancies.
Dr Langtry and her nurse have given me the best quality care. They are patient, honest, caring, and understanding of you as both a patient and person. Dr. Langtry does not sugar coat what she tells you and that is exactly what people need from an OB. I have been going to her since a young teen and have felt safe and secure with every visit and procedure. Receptionists have always been kind and caring and I would recommend this place to anyone. I also recommend my OB, especially for teen patients new to care. Can’t give enough thanks to Dr Langtry and her team!!
The staff is wonderful. They are very professional, but also friendly, especially if you make a joke or laugh. I would, and do, recommend them to anyone looking for the best care. Love the doctors here.
Dr. Bowen is a very knowledgeable, empathetic, and experienced doctor. Every nurse I’ve had the pleasure of meeting has been equally pleasant, professional, and caring. I recommend this practice to anyone looking for a new OB/GYN. 5 stars!
I very rarely post reviews but I had such a great experience here. I have bad anxiety/ptsd and they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable, everyone from the receptionist to the medical assistant to the doctor. I am so happy and appreciate the kindness.
I want to say that if they don’t take care of the rude receptionist name Joan who worked on July 13 at 9:20 am they will lose more customers than just me. I had a appointment a year ago and I didn’t receive a phone call or a email to remind me. So I’m warning people now, after you leave the doctor and they ask you do you want to make an appointment for your next visit say NO because a year will go by and then they will be sending you a threatening letter telling you that you will be charged for a No Show. The lady Joan don’t need to be a receptionist, she need to be mopping floors where you don’t have to talk to people. So if the doctors are losing patients maybe talk to the receptionist.
Very professional doctors office. Dr.Makhlouf is the best, hes made me feel very comfortable throughout my pregnancy. The rest of the staff are always very pleasant and professional as well. Justyce at the front desk is so friendly and cheerful. Every office needs someone like him. Overall I am glad I was recommended here! I would recommend to others as well!
My doctor was fine. He wasnt extremely knowledgeable as far as endometriosis is concerned, but Ive found that most general gyns arent. He was pushing outdated information, but also respected me when I told him that I wasnt going to try some form of treatment that has already proven to just mask symptoms. They referred me to a reproductive endocrinologist because my hormones were off, like maybe I have PCOS, but i wasnt presenting like someone normally would with the disease. After a month of waiting I find out that they didnt even have my number correct. After the second month I call again and am told that the endocrinologist rejected my referral. When the nurse was talking to me though it sounded like she had referred me for my endometriosis. I asked about the bloodwork, and she had to look it up and said it wouldnt have made a difference. A couple days later I called again to ask what I was referred for and she said endometriosis. I told her that that wasnt what the doctor and I discussed and we went back and forth on it. Then she finally said of course they wont accept you youre refusing treatment I refused Lupron because it isnt known to help get rid of endometriosis and it causes bone loss. I already have osteopenia so I wasnt going to lose bone density for a bandaid. I also refused birth control as I am at an increased risk of having a stroke due to migraines.I brought up that I dont need them to treat my endometriosis as I was going to go to an endometriosis specialist to get it treated. The nurse became offended for the doctor and reminded me that hes been practicing medicine for 30 years and was yelling at me about refusing reasonable treatment optionsI dont expect a general gyn to be an expert in endo just as I wouldnt expect him to be an expert in uterine cancer. While both are things he can find, they both have experts in the field that only focus on those issues and are able to keep up with all of the continuing research that a general gyn isnt able to do as they treat many different conditions. The doctor never seemed to have a problem with me refusing treatments and trying to figure something else out that would work for me, particularly hormonally. His nurse on the other hand was rude and demeaning and could not handle me not wanting their endo treatments. Im no longer a patient.
I have been with Dr Bowen since he was in Hamilton NY. Always professional, soft spoken and approachable never in a hurry so you feel like you are heard. Very thorough. Love this practice and both my husband and I are completely satisfied athriugh all of my ups and downs.
Although all the staff were friendly, I did not appreciate the care at awm. The nurse and doctor had terrible bedside manner and did not explain what they were doing throughout the procedure. I left with almost no knowledge of what the procedure entailed or how to care for the area afterwards. I am very unhappy with the treatment I got and the lack of help and knowledge I left with.
Everyone is so kind!!! The nurses explained all of the procedures and the front desk was so sweet
None of my interactions with this practice were positive during my pregnancy. The obstetrician gave me half-answers to my direct questions (including the flippant response of dont eat junk food to my questions about how to manage pregnancy weight gain), and often modified his answers at subsequent visits (after I had done independent research and asked more probing questions). He seemed nice enough, but his inability to provide clear, consistent, and comprehensive answers lead me to question either his competency or his integrity. The practice was notably inflexible about phone calls: they do not have any telephone availability outside of business hours, and they take a lunch break from noon to one. If you call during business hours, they will call you back, and they will refuse to schedule a time: you must be on call for them. Sometimes they are not even open during their stated hours: a call at 3:40 netted me the curt response they were closed from their answering service (which can do nothing but cancel appointments). The billing office kept sending me bills marked past due even though it was the first notice I had received that I owed money. The bills frequently called out tests I hadnt even realised I had had until I asked questions at subsequent visits.I left every visit feeling worse than when I went in.
For years I loved this place. But recently, not so much. If you are in or near menopause, they offer no guidance, no help, no information, and no resources - but theyll absolutely charge you for the office visit.
I have had positive experiences here from receptionists, nurses and my doctor. I had two ultrasounds and the technician was gentle and put me at ease. I highly recommend
I never get any problems with this office my Dr she is good and awesome , everyone be so good to me every experience is different my one was good... the only thing I dont like they dont make the surgery to dont more babies lol...
Doctors and nurses are amazing. The receptionists are beyond incompetent and lazy. The only one that seems to do their job is the only guy there. They sre you standing, waiting be checked in/out and are too worried about their phones, facebook, or talking to each other about tv shows.
I see Taylor and shes amazing. The receptionist at the James St. office are super sweet. Highly recommend Taylor.
They dont care about the patients, just the money they can collect. Staff is rude and barely do the minimum to get by.
This office is nothing but an unorganized choatic mess and gives you nothing but the run around stay away ! You wait an hour or more to be seen and the doctors spend less than five minutes with you !
The staff is very gracious and professional. I see Dr. Brown at both the Camillus and James Street locations, and the staff at both offices are very helpful and friendly.
Wonderful experience. Everyone I encountered from the receptionists, nurses, techs, and the doctors - very professional, caring and compassionate.
Wait times can be a bit long, but the doctors, especially Dr. Makhlouf, are very thorough and do an amazing job.
All staff was friendly, kind and respectful. Very little wait time.
I would give a negative 5 if possible!!! I will add the reason as to why to this review later in detail. I recommend you to avoid them at all cost.
I m sorry to for 1star but their materials so old and so their brain sistem and some how they are kind of rude during the tests which is I dont want to go again there.
Amazing experience getting an IUD in, very little pain, felt so comfortable !!!!
The doctors seem nice the wait times are horrendous. Make sure you clear plenty of time
Ive been going here for years. The doctors here listen to their patients
Excellent
Ridiculous
