This place is fraudulent. They charged be $7,000 1 year after my treatment and keep sending me bills. Please be aware this place has went down in service ever since some of there previous doctors left. Please don’t waist your time. They won’t even answer or return your calls also and before you know it you will have a failed treatment. They will reply back to your email they are out of the office and never help you. Please stay away and don’t waist your time.
I have never had a positive experience with the receptionists here. The doctors and medical staff are wonderful, but when scheduling an appointment or handling any other administrative task I am always met with a combative and condescending conversation.
I have been trying to work with CFA to assess egg freezing, and so far they have managed to:1, bungle my insurance (leading to several hundred dollars of costs I am covered for) for routine bloodwork2, make me wait for over an hour on each appointment I had, while never even acknowledging that I was in the waiting room, standing at their desk, despite walking up and standing in front of them for 10+ minutes3, today, I received a message in their new portal from another patient, that was clearly intended for the doctor, which just screams HIPAA violation, on top of egregiously terrible administrative management. When I pointed it out, the front desk woman on the phone brushed me off and said the equivalent of, oopsie, sorrry. No customer service, no hey let me investigate this to ensure your private data is safe, nothing. Its quite a shame, as Dr. Sacks was wonderful when I met with him, but I dont think I can move forward with treatment at a place that is so painfully badly managed.
Coming to this office has been a horrible experience for me. When coming to a specialty office, or any office I expect high quality patient care. That simply does not exist here. Multiple times I have had to walk to the practice because no one answered or returned my phone calls. The admin team is not welcoming at all. They dont even acknowledge you when you enter the office. Management is by far the worst. Ive overheard people on the other end of the phone saying things such as that girl dont listen. The office manager even intentionally hung up on me over a billing disagreement. Ive addressed my issues with the doctors at this practice and there was never any resolution. Insurance and billing was a major hassle. Multiple times I had to provide details about my insurance and follow up on my claims. I would not recommend anyone to the practice because I didnt not feel like I was valued and honestly, they do not show any sence of care here. The only positive experience I had was with with Brandy, who assisted me with a procedure. This was the first time I noticed someone who smiled in this office. She was very caring and I truly appreciated working with her even though it was only one procedure. The lady who draws blood was also pleasant as well. She is very polite and you can see she loves what she does.Overall, it was a nightmare being a patient at this practice. It is conveniently located near my job which is why I chose to come here. I am now seeking treatment somewhere else.
Never in my life have I ever felt like a number the way that Columbia fertility clinic has treated me I began my official first cycle of I UI February 2024 of course that was a discrepancy due to the fact that prior none of Dr. Sacs Nursing team or administrative team reached out to me to do a follow-up appointment from my previous blood work that was examined And so I had to start my treatment on day 6 instead of day 5 The first IUI cycle failed and of course I asked Doctor Sacs what happened and he could not explain Now mind you I just did an HSG exam with him January 2024 he asked me about my right ovary but insisted that it should be nothing that will harm me getting pregnant He then assisted with my second I UI cycle suggesting that in my exam for my blood work and sonogram that I may have a little of endometriosis But never stated to go and find a second opinion But encouraged to still do the procedure because once again he said it should not prevent me from getting pregnant now mind you I have had 2 IUI cycles that have failed back-to-back And so I went to get a second opinion come to find out I had a cysts on each of my ovaries. Yet Columbia fertility wants to go behind a past application to make me pay for genetic testing that was never discussed about treatment nor my results and would still not discuss with me What is causing my infertility issues. Now mind you the week prior after the I UI injection my body is always fine according to my blood work however somewhere between day 9 today 14 of the cycle things start to take a turn and every time I reach out to speak to my Doctor who happens to be Dr. Sacs He is nowhere to be found or hes always in a meeting its always some excuse that either the front desk or his nursing team or the administrative staff has to cover for him. I encourage you to please take precautions if you decide to choose this fertility clinic because you can go miss diagnosed and have to So much emotional damage trying to conceive with this clinic only for them to take your money for fast rendered services. I know someone personally who also went to them first and they told her her tubes were blocked she went to go get a second opinion from another fertility clinic and now she has conceived threw another fertility clinic because she found out that her progesterone levels were low So I advise to any of you ladies please thoroughly do your research because Columbia fertility clinic is not it and I get that every clinic has is ups and Downs when it comes to the customer service however they lack in being redeptive of the clients needs and request and its really not enough Doctors there to care for their patients. Now I understand why he has so many frustrated customers he doesnt spend enough time to go through the process with them and help them understand what their problems are that causes infertility hes always given this optimistic view Where he wraps you up through multiple cycles whether its I UI or IVF And once you pay your money you dont see him again unless it is a rendered service so forget having a 1 on 1 consultation
This office is not it AT ALL, waiting 40-45 mins is nothing. Like you have nothing else to do, they don’t acknowledge you at all. I had to threaten to leave for the front office to check if they will be seeing me. I just left, not worth it. I’ll find another office.
All the negative reviews are accurate. I feel like I wasted so much time and money at this place with no results. They would often bill incorrectly asking me to pay for what my insurance clearly covered. They were never clear on instructions for different stages of the fertility treatments. No matter how many failed trials, I never felt like the doctor cared to find out why. It just felt like a factory and you were just another money making machine for them. I drove an hour to this place over 20 times! Its just so frustrating, I wished my body worked the way it is supposed to so I never had to deal with these people. I wish I could get all the time and money I spent back. Another year later and still no baby. Save yourself the stress and dont come here!
They charged $4,000 just for the thawing of our one frozen embryo. Avoid here. One of Dr. Sacks nurses, Iman, was communicatvie and empathetic. But the other nurse of his was awful and dismissive when we had a question. The office staff treats you badly as others described.
It was my husband and I first visit with Dr. Sacks and we felt so comfortable. He was very knowledgeable, patient and thorough. He provided us with very detailed options to help us make decisions on best next steps. We appreciated him very much.
I had such a bitter experience here. The doctor who was the reason for my using this practice unfortunately retired and I got assigned another and that’s when the nightmare began. Every interaction with them was terrible - missed dates, delayed prescriptions and shipments, forgetting to inform me of what to do during my egg retrieval cycle, no empathy, waiting an hour+ at a time to be seen, being forgotten in an examination room one time and left on the table until I eventually walked into the hallway to see if anyone was around, very unpleasant nurses at the reception, no one answering calls, doctor not being willing to even discuss results or take the time to explain what is going on in your body. On top of everything, they billed me incorrectly for fees that my insurance had already covered, and 4 months on I don’t have a refund. The worst part is when the doctor asked me if I would ‘go off the deep end’ if I paused on my antidepressants. This was so far below the standard of care, the whole experience was appalling. I would never recommend and I hope I can transfer my eggs to another provider who cares about their patients.
I highly recommend this practice and Dr. Sacks! I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable sharing reasons for my visit. He answered all my questions with patience and understanding and I left feeling confident in the treatment plan he set forth for me. I am so grateful I was referred here!
I wish I could give a big fat ZERO to CFA. I came in as a surrogate for transfer, had to travel from out of state and was appalled at how bad both the nurses/doctors bedside manners were for such a delicate situation. My Intended Parents were not allowed to go with me, my husband wasnt allowed in with me, I couldnt bring a phone to document anything for them, and they gave attitude when I asked questions since this was my first time doing IVF. After transfer and confirmation of pregnancy, I had to follow up multiple times to get answers regarding acceptable cold/allergy medicine, fertility medicine adjustments, and we spent 3 MONTHS trying to get my medical records transferred to my OBs office. Each time we were told they were sent over and Id be following up after my next appt when I was told my OB didnt have them yet. What a nightmare, STAY AWAY.
Dr. Sacks is absolutely amazing! Hes extremely knowledgeable and has a wide range of experience. He takes his time with his patients and comes with the highest recommendation possible. He will take his time to answer any of your questions and his bed-side manners are impeccable.
Rude front desk employee I asked how do I go about checking to see if I can check my egg count and also check for infertility issues she rushed me off the phone and stated that I have to google one of the doctors to see if wanted one of them she had no empathy this was my first time doing this I was extremely disappointed in her rudeness will be looking for an different place to go to.
Check Yelp review first. I thought about given up on my fertility treatment because of this place. I hate that I wasted so much time to do an egg extraction and storage for reciprocal IVF. I suggest soon as you see the red flags, take it as a sign. It has been a nightmare since I started with them. Always an issue with the appointments, walk-ins for blooddraw/labs, receptionists, and billing. I found myself crying or distraught after encounters with them.I call them on multiple occasions but rarely get someone to pick up the phone from the appt line. I would have to ask for an operator and cross my fingers. For me, They caused more trouble than they actually helped. And all you will get is a bunch of Im sorrysThey always have an excuse for why they mess up so much and none of it ever helped my situationOne time, I found myself waiting in the seating area for over an hour to get a blooddraw. No one ever came to get me nor did I get any updates until I finally went to Althea and asked to be checked out.The most recent issue is when they changed me to an earlier appointment from Sept 11th to the 7th. I was in good spirits thinking my luck had changed, until I received a call today to say it was a technical error and the date is double booked. Not only could I not get the 7th but I lost the appointment for the 11th. And Dr. Sacks will not be available for awhile.I cried for a bit and now I am searching for a clinic who cares about the patient.
It was the best experience during this pandemic that Ive had experience in a long time. I thank the entire staff that I encountered today they all are helpful, kind and I appreciate them and how they handle us today. Dr. Sack was just awesome, also LaShawn for providing us with needed information and for both her and Dr. Sacks making a exception for us today, we truly appreciate this experience, also thanks to the young lady that had done my blood work her energy was great
What can I say. I recently moved to the DMV area and did my research for a fertility clinic. The Columbia Fertility Clinic seemed to fit our needs. The reviews were encouraging, but my 1st consultation with Dr. Sacks was more than I imagined. He was thorough and extremely detailed. I felt like he tailored our consultation and advised me based on our personal life situation and our dynamics.I was so comfortable with our discussion. I am extremely happy with our decision to be a part of the Columbia Fertility Clinic family and look forward to working with Dr. Sacks on our journey.
Dr. Sacks energy was amazing from the start of our consult. He had a lot of information and we walked away from a conversation that we were a bit apprehensive about, feeling excited and encouraged. And even before the appointment, his office team made getting everything set up a breeze.
Ive had one visit with Dr. Sacks and my husband and I felt respected, and acknowledged. He took the time to explain everything and wanted to be proactive about getting us started in growing our family. Im looking forward to working with Dr. Sacks along this journey.
This place went down terribly. It used to be in and out, very precise. I come at 7.30am because I work at 8.30. First they called the person that came after me, send me to the room and waited 45 min to be seen and still need to wait for Drs order and to go get my blood on the first floor. When Dr Buttler was here I came in, registered, a sonogram and blood all within 30 mins. No wasting time. This is too much. It’s the third visit and I keep postponing because of how long they take.I had my first visit and Dr Butler was so amazing, explained us in detail what we needed to know with drawings and everything. Super detailed and professional. I loved my experience!
I am surprised to see so many negative reviews because my experience has been truly outstanding! After not receiving the “warm and fuzzy” by Shady Grove Fertility due to age (43), I researched and found CFA. I called and immediately asked for the best doctor and was paired with Dr. Sacks. Upon my initial consult, I received the empathy, concern, and the affirmation that I needed. I understood the “statistics” but he never made me feel like a lost cause. He has a bedside manner, extremely welcoming, honest and professional. He assessed my history and records and started me on a low dose egg priming protocol which resulted in a follicle growth and egg retrieval. I have felt comfortable and peace with his medical care and his team the entire time. They have been consistent and responsive. Now I am eagerly waiting to hear the results of fertilization and when I can transfer. Also, I have had consistent correspondence from nurses and the billing department has been fabulous. No errors, no oversights. I do believe at one point they were in a bit of flux and transitioning front desk operations for a bit in the months preceding my medical care; which may be reasons for bad reviews. Also this is such a delicate and sensitive issue, time is of essence, and it can be stressful. Perhaps some people’s level of patience and tolerance may not be there. However, my experience has been great. More to come!
Dr. Sacks has a wonderful bedside manner. He is extremely personable and knowledgeable. He also spends a lot of time with you to thoroughly explain your options. He made my husband and I feel totally at ease. I would strongly recommend him.
Upon my entrance into the facility the triage staff was very friendly! And my wait was not long at all before I seen Dr. Sacks. I was referred to Dr. Sacks by one of the best OBGYN Physicians I know, Dr. Blank of Capital Women’s Care. Although this was just my first visit, it is clear that Dr. Sacks is very skilled and wants the best for his patients. He provided his step by step detailed plans of what avenue he plans to take with me based on my unique situation, he showed physical examples of what my processes/procedures would look like, and provided approximate time frames. So far he’s everything Dr. Blank said he would be!
I had wasted several thousand dollars with this place before I decided to switch providers. Everyone from the reception to the doctor acts like they’d rather be doing something else. My appointments never began on time and they never answered the phone when I called for test results. It was a hassle to even get my medical records sent to my new doctor.
My husband and I came to Dr. Sacks for an initial conversation as we have been trying to conceive for some time, and I happen to have some issues. He was incredibly kind, caring, knowledgeable, and patient. My husband and I both agreed that if we go the fertility route, we would feel very confident about being the patients of Dr. Sacks. He is EXACTLY what one wants in a doctor, especially a doctor dealing with infertility.
We saw a few different fertility doctors before a friend referred us to Dr. Sacks at Columbia Fertility. I knew when we started this process we needed someone who was patient, and understanding and I felt like I could trust. We knew after the first visit Dr. Sacks was the doctor for us. Hes kind and optimistic while also being realistic and clear. He let us talk through options, and I never felt like I was being pushed to do something I was uncomfortable with (which is one of the reasons we left our previous clinic). All protocols and meds were explained clearly, and there was always a nurse to answer questions when they came up. I always felt like they truly wanted the best for us - They were disappointed with us when things didnt go well, and celebrated with us when they did. I wish this wasnt the path we had to go down to start our family, but I am so grateful we were in good hands along the way.
This review is long overdue. Ive been seeing Dr Sacks for a few years now and I cant say enough good things about hi.. I was referred to him for reproductive endocrinology by my OBGYN. He is by far one my absolute favorite doctors Ive had in the course of my life. He actually listens to how I am feeling rather than push or refuse medications or treatments. Hes always willing to see me and I usually get in within a day or two. He has an incredible bedside manner and is a fantastic human being to boot. He has been the ONLY doctor to listen and solve some of the issues I was having when others brushed me off. Absolutely LOVE him. He really knows his field and is willing to try most things to get you to feel better. Wouldnt go anywhere else. Im not sure what I will do if my wife and I move out of the area because he has been incredible in every way. While Im not seeing him specifically to get pregnant but rather for endocrinology, I cant imagine my wife and I going anywhere else if we ever wanted to have a baby.
I scheduled a follow up virtual appointment a month out with Dr. Abbasi only for the doctor to arrive 10 minutes late and inform me that they did not in fact have my lab results despite me having given them my specialists contact information weeks in advance. The entire purpose of the appointment was to discuss these results. No apology for wasting a patients time, just you need to reschedule.Alas we rescheduled for a week out only for the doctor to arrive late again (only 5 minutes this time yay!) and give me results that could have been delivered via phone.I was left with the very strong impression that this office has no respect for their patients time and absolutely zero bedside manner in addition to awful communication. I would give 0 stars if I could.
My first impression of this office is a great one. Everyone is so friendly. Dr. Sacks is super professional, & made things quick & easy. Can’t wait to come back & see everyone again!
Best doctor, ever. Not only does he take care of your body, but he understands that your body is affected by your emotional and mental state. Very few doctors take this extra important step. I also call him for references to other doctors in other fields, so I make sure i am going to the best in that field, and he has, time after time, referred the perfect doctor. Speaking of that, can you ask Dr. Rifka to refer a neurologist for me? Thank you so so much!
I was skeptical a bit coming here due to the last Fertility Dr. I had. When I came I felt welcomed and tooken care of. Dr. Sacks explained EVERYTHING! He is very passionate, caring, and I see he roots for his patents. I want to thank him for being so punctual and precise in what needs to be done.
I have seen Dr. Sacks twice so far for consultations in his office. He has reviewed my paperwork carefully, answered my questions and taken my viewpoint into consideration, while still explaining his choices based on his medical expertise. He is very friendly and enjoys chit-chat.
Dr. Sacks is fantastic! He is knowledgeable and and has the best bedside manner in the business. He has a way of making you feel like everything will be okay and that is so necessary in area of fertility treatment.
My OBGYN of 9 years at this location retired. As requested by them I make a new appointment with another doctor. When I arrive there, they tell me the other doctor also left the group and they left a voice message. Clearly a lie as I don’t have voice message set up, nor do I have any missed calls. Then they proceed to tell me to find a new Dr. / facility. I’m beyond upset.
Dr Sacks is amazing. I have a very difficult case and went to a few different clinics as well as meeting with several Drs and he was one of the few that truly cared to listen and help. He has great bedside manners and is patient and kind. The reason I am giving this clinic 2 stars however is due to their awful and unfriendly billing department in addition to their non existent customer service. I had a procedure there as they are an in-network clinic with my insurance, but they used an anesthesiologist who was out of network without my knowledge. I received a bill from the anesthesiologist, so I called my insurance company and they informed me that it is the responsibility of the clinic to check in and out of network providers prior to procedures. I called Columbias billing department to explain this to them and of course they didnt help with anything and said it was not their responsibility. I am now stuck with paying 100% out of pocket for the anesthesiology bill since the anesthesiologist was out of network. I recommend double checking to make sure EVERYONE at their clinic is in network with your plan.
Dr. Sacks is the best doctor I ever met. He is very attentive and knowledgeable. I always feel very calm and comfortable after the appointments.
My experience with Ms. Olson has been great thus far. I am confident in her care and appreciate her calm gentle demeanor and great bedside manners. However, as for the rest of the supporting staff, while there are a few shining stars, for the most part I am yet to be impressed. If you could look beyond this, overall the providers really do provide good care.
Dr. Sacks is such a warm and caring physician. He takes the time to really listen to your concerns, answer questions, and create a health plan that puts you in the center. I’ve experienced such wonderful results. He helped me become pregnant with my second child. If you are looking for someone who puts you first he is the doctor for you!
I would really caution against this practice and recommend those considering making an appointment look at Yelp rather than Google reviews (maybe this says something about Google reviews being biased? The practice sends you a form asking for public feedback after your visit. They ask if it is positive or negative: if negative, you are rerouted to a private feedback form. If positive, you post publicly!).Yelp reviews are much more in line with my experience there, particularly with admin staff. In short, they are rude and disorganized. Its been hell on earth receiving my test results: no one would call me with them and when I would call to receive them/a copy they would angrily tell me there is nothing in the system and they have no way of even checking what was sent out to the lab. When I realized some of them were missing they told me I was supposed to come back on another day for that particular test (how could I know? no one had told me to when I was in the practice and I wouldnt have known had I not insisted upon it...). They cant even tell you how to check results. One nurse said she did not know. Another eventually said I should create an account with a particular lab. Really? How is this not more streamlined...? I did create said account, and never received results on there either. Never had a pleasant call: I always am made to feel like I am disturbing them and/or am being unreasonable for wanting a copy of results.Still only have about 30% of my labs. I hope they dont mess up my billing. The two stars are for Dr. Sacks, who seemed like a decent doctor. But Im not sure this is worth the trouble: I cant imagine what this must be like if youre in it for some serious and complicated procedures (which some of the Yelp reviews describe) that require timely information.
Signey Olson and Dr. Sacks are both amazing. I have so far been impressed with Columbia Fertility. Areas of improvement are the front desk and admin because lots of times Ive waited minutes for someone to pick up only for the call to end in a busy signal. Or Im immediately transferred to a voicemail that doesnt exist.
Dr. Sacks was so kind and personable. I loved that he talked to me in his office instead of just straight going into an exam room. He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure I had all of my questions answered. I’m looking forward to having him along this journey.
Easy and professional front office and check-in process. Dr. Sacks was so kind and welcoming, talking through processes, next steps, and options as we begin this journey. He was a referral from a dear friend, but that didnt come up until the end, and he was so personable and asked many questions to get to know us better throughout the intake. Were looking forward to continuing down the path here with Dr. Sacks.
I love Dr. Butler! He always takes the time to answer your questions thoroughly and will respond to your call or emails promptly. He is very professional and very happy we switched from Shady to Columbia - their customer service, billing office and receptionist have taken care of all of our needs! Highly recommend!
Dr Butler is very thorough in his approach to care. He carefully reviews your medical history and provides you with options for you to make a choice. I like the fact that he sits down in his office with his patients to talk before heading to the exam room. An example of how medical care should feel like. I highly recommend him for his attention to details.
I had an initial consultation with Dr. Sacks. He was timely, personable, candid, and very knowledgeable. I will update my review after Ive had more time to interact with him and his office, but my first impressions were fantastic, and I would certainly go back to him.
Truly love seeing Dr. Sacks all these years. He’s the reason why I was able to finally have children (twins at that, double blessings!). He has great bedside manner, very upfront and data driven. He makes things easy and comfortable despite a sometimes stressful process. I highly recommend Dr. Sacks and this practice.
Dr. Butler is very nice. But I have had some communication issues with staff working there throughout. You can barely reach out to them by phone and email even if we are dealing with very time sensitive matter. I several times left messages to call me back, but I have never received any call back. It happened to me continuously. I saw other patients had the exact same complain as mine while I was visiting their office. They have some internal organizational and structural issues.
Just so no one has my experience take note ONLY THE DC OFFICE IS OPEN. THE N. VA AND BETHESDA OFFICES ARE CLOSED AND THERE IS NO INFORMATION ONLINE ABOUT IT. DO NOT BOOK IF DC IS NOT A REALISTIC OFFICE FOR YOU. Dr. Sacks is a 5 star doctor, but the office staff is less than. Rude, and after setting a follow up appointment then needing to cancel I was told my second appointment was never put on the books. I had to cancel because of the closed offices. Very frustrating.
He was very knowledgeable and thorough with his explanations and my questions. Very nice bedside manner and would highly recommend. His staff is not as great though. After our initial consultation with the doctor, I waited an additional 20 mins to see the “financial consultant” and when we finally met, she was completely unprepared. She didn’t know if my insurance paid for any of it. I thought that was what was taking so long and the whole point of meeting with her, but she just gave me pay out of pocket prices. Something that a list could do. Also his staff in general were very dismissive and had to go up multiple times for different things and they seemed confused the majority of the time.
Dr. Sacks and his team were wonderful. Kim is amazing and was always there to help me with my many questions. Dr. Sacks knows his stuff and helped me get pregnant despite my PCOS. Were thrilled! We had some complications with billing, but the team resolved them.
Yesterday I had a fantastic visit with Dr. Sacks. So fantastic that I had to call a friend to share the experience with her. I went in to the visit with 3 very concerning issues. Dr. Sack, with his warm and welcoming demeanor talked me through the various scenarios, including the worst case scenario, and he helped me to reframe well, if this is the worst case scenario, how can we think about it differently? What could we do about it? I walked into the examination room feeling less nervous and more equipped to deal with whatever might have come
Signey Olson is the only reason Im giving it 2 stars. She is amazing. The staff is not. The lack of communication, miscommunication, or over poor office management has made our process such a headache. We finally received a callback after 5 weeks because I sent multiple emails about a possibly deadly diagnosis we received at another location. The team here will put you on hold for long periods of time, yet answered when I called from a second phone number while the first was still on hold. They lack care and concern, even in critical times. And the billing department is outrageous. Dont waste your time here.
Dr. Abbasi is a straight shooter and extremely patient and thorough to answer all your questions. She has a dry, no-nonsense nature about her while still maintaining a sense of warmth and compassion that is a necessity in her field. We came to her after visiting a much larger, better-marketed outfit. I didn’t want to be sold a program; I wanted all the facts and an experienced professional to help us weigh plans and come to decisions for our unique circumstance. And that is exactly what we got from Dr. A. I would recommend her without hesitation. She also has an extremely kind and professional staff.
If you like to avoid extreme frustration then don’t go to this doctor’s office. The 4.8 overall rating of this operations makes no sense and somehow the reviews appear to be manipulated. I tried for over 3 months to make it work as I was really in need of a second opinion for my diagnosis. Every time I wanted to make an appointment, I had to try calling at least 5 time. When I finally made appt, talked to doctor and got tested, no one ever followed up to tell me the next steps even though the doctor had said a nurse will follow up. Dr Sacks seems nice but not sure how that can be useful when you never receive actual treatment. It’s very likely that you call them during their business hours and the automated message says the office is closed or that no one would answer the phone. Not sure how anyone could receive treatment at this place...
Dr. Sacks was very friendly and informative. He was patient and answered all questions/concerns we had. His coordinator LaShonne Levy was extremely helpful and knowledgeable! She had such a positive spirit! She confirmed for us that we were in the right place.
My experience at Columbia Fertility far exceeded my expectations. To say that Dr Sacks and the nurse manager Sarah C. were wonderful would be a gross understatement. They as well as all of their office staff were welcoming, approachable, and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable with the egg freezing process. From our first visit with Dr Sacks we knew that CF was where we wanted to receive treatment. They did everything possible to address my concerns, answer my questions, accommodate my work schedule/vacation/ upcoming deployment, and work with my insruance. From late night email exchanges and weekend texting to spending hours on the phone with my insurance Ive never had such attentive medical care. It couldnt have been a better experience. I feel so blessed to have met them and I look forward to working with them in the future.
I waited in the waiting room for a short time. The receptionist, name escapes me, was absolutely knowledgable about what to expect during my appointment. Dr. Sacks has a warm personality and comprehensively explained my options. I am thankful for Columbia Fertility Associates.
Dr. Sacks is simply amazing. He is extremely knowledgeable and always spoke to us about the recent research in the field. He is kind and listens to your concerns. He takes him time and is not in a rush like many other doctors do. His staff is professional and handle you with ultimate care. We have been going to Dr. Sacks for the past two years and are over the moon with the arrival of our daughter ten months ago. I do not believe in miracles, but if there were such a thing, Dr. Sacks is certainly one who does them. Our baby girl is perfect. Dr. Sacks has been there for me through the IUI and the IVF process and through the first 12 weeks f my pregnancy. It was not an easy road, but we made it happen and thanks to Dr. Sacks and his team at Columbia Fertility we are parents and loving every bit of it. Thank you Dr. Sacks.
I am so pleased with Dr. Maurice Butler because he really does care for the patient in his care. I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful doctor who understands what we are going through in our quest to have a child. His expertise really does mean a lot. As his patient for so many years, I am grateful that he is always there for us.
Dr. Rifka sounded very knowledgeable, listened well, and made me feel confident that he had a plan for diagnosis and next steps. He was very personable and easy to talk to. It’s rare to meet a doctor who has both the expertise and a true interest in taking care of patients.
Dr Sachs is hands down the best OBGYN i’ve ever seen. I have been a patient of his for more than 7 years! A friend suggested him to me when I moved to the DC area and couldn’t be happier. He has incredible bedside manners!
Very friendly, very professional. I came to this group looking for assistance and advice for egg freezing. I did not feel as though they were pushing me to freeze my eggs so they could make money. Instead, they laid out the options for me, gave me information on my latest AMH readings and suggested further testing to help me make my decisions. Would recommend. I have been working with Dr. Preston Sacks, who is a lovely individual.
That place is my paradise. Dr Butler helped me to smile. I started my journey with him in 2016 and in 2018 i gave birth to my lovely baby boy Angel. I dont remember who referred me over there. But i remembered that when i met him he received me with a smiling face and i knew i will gain my deep gift from there. He does not fake. He will tell tell you how much is your chance and will try all the best to encourage. He answers all the questions. I pray for for all couples going through that journey to be faithful. I wish you all the best.
Dr. Butler and his team are amazing! I gave birth to twins in Sept of this year and I owe it all to them. Dr. Butler was very knowledgeable and caring every step of the way. Even on the very rough days he remained optimistic and open to try new things. I couldnt have chosen a better doctor to go on the journey with.
Dr. Butler took great care of me! I wanted to work with a smaller practice so I wouldnt feel like just another number, and I definitely felt that I received individualized care by highly competent medical professionals.
Dr Sacks is an amazing Doctor, he takes time to sit with you and answer every question you have. I never feel rush and not heard. He set goals and make sure that he gives the advice to reach your goals.
We have only great things to say about Columbia Fertility Associates specially for Dr Preston Sacks. From day one he has made us feel comfortable with the whole process. He is friendly, caring and understanding. We have one very healthy son and going back for a second try. Too bad he doesn’t deliver them as well.
Dr. Sacks always listens to understand. He explains with clarity and helping his patients is his first priority. He has a warm bedside manner and I trust his medical advice and guidance.
Dr. Sacks is an angel! Incredible doctor with incredible bed side manner. He’s been a shining light throughout my journey!
He took time to listen to my concerns and was kind. Asked all the questions to formulate a treatment plan. I found my interaction with him very comforting.Never going back. Found a regular OB/GYN who took care of my issues in less than 2 visits. This practice saw me couple of times and I kept complaining of one issue and one issue only and they were never able to figure it out.
I read a lot of bad reviews about them especially at Yelp and after being there once, I totally agree with the other reviewers about their bad service. Don’t waste your time and money here. I had a visit to their clinic once. Their system is very old which is unbelievable. I had to call them many times to get an update on my results
The staff is courteous. Dr. Sacks is kind and easy to talk to. He is an expert in his field and it is a relief to know i have the best care for my reproductive health.
It’s difficult posting a public review about such a sensitive topic but I feel it’s important people know what they’re getting into before they choose this clinic. I have no other clinics to compare this to, so my experience may just be the industry standard. Treat you like cattle and then push you out the door. I’ll start with the positives, most of the nurses here are wonderful, caring and put up with a lot form hormonal and emotional people while they undertake fertility procedures. My Dr Sarhan was good, but when she went on leave I was placed with another doctor for the remainder of my treatment, including the frozen transfer. Only once in 6 months (two egg retrieval cycles and 1 transfer) did I ever sit down with a doctor. Information was passed to me not through a portal but either via phone calls or random emails. I received 2 calendars via email but no calendar for my first cycle, making injecting loads of hormones into me very confusing and overwhelming. The bedside manner of the doctor and the main nurse I worked with was awful. Didn’t bother to explain most of the procedures to me, I had to call 4 times to get them to explain the frozen transfer the day of. Due to covid, the doctor refused to see me for my last appointment when I was eight weeks pregnant because, she had no other patients that day so wasn’t coming in.I was fortunate to have very good insurance that paid for most of my procedures. The day of my second egg retrieval, the financial counselor called me and said they hadn’t received the authorization and without it I couldn’t go ahead. They were rude and insolent. They had received it weeks before and only had to ask the doctor. This business is run at its bare bones, the staff probably over worked and not given any training to deal with people. This process is physical and emotional and the tone by all in the clinic must be improved. Emails are rude if you ever get one and doctors can’t be contacted, as I said... no portal. Is it that they can’t afford the portal? At $50K a pop, with countless patients, I think that is plain greed and laziness.Ask yourself, do you want to find out if your little baby is a boy or girl via an email from a rude nurse saying ‘your one normal embryo was a male gender’? I doubt anyone wants to be reminded of their failures hearing the best news of their life.Lift your game Columbia. I wish I had gone anywhere else and will never be back. Do not recommend.
Dr. Butler is incredibly thorough, patient, and kind. He brings decades of expertise and an excellent bedside manner to appointments. Follow up care was excellent. The staff was wonderful and efficient.
My husband and I are starting this journey and feel so confident in Dr. Abbasi after our first consultation. She is very easy to speak with and extremely knowledgeable! Looking forward to working with her and the team at Columbia Fertility more...
Admin staff and nurses are terrible. My wife and I spent hours and hours over the course of our treatments either waiting for our appointments (30+ min late every single time) or calling them repeatedly to get them to do the things they said they would do (e.g. call in prescriptions to our pharmacy.) Staff repeatedly were not in during their office hours and their off hours answering service was completely useless. The problem is, Shady Grove is just as bad or worse.Frankly I dont know how people with full time jobs are supposed to undergo fertility treatment. These services are so hopelessly inefficient despite costing $20k+. Fertility treatment should be so commonplace at this point that these services run as efficiently as Lasik providers, but for some reason they dont.
Dr. Rifka gives you a thorough exam with state of the art equipment. There are no stones left unturned. He is a very personable and patient doctor. He explains each procedure, process, and anticipated outcomes that he performs. He also listens to my questions or concerns and properly responds.Dr. Rifka has been my doctor for more than 15 years. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Rifka is one of the best specialists that I had the pleasure to have as a patient. He actually remembers his patients and their needs. For women dealing with fertility issues, this is especially important because he wants to HELP our dreams for pregnancy to come true, but he also gently sets realistic expectations. I feel like were a team and Im NOT just a dollar bill to Dr. Rifka. I am forever grateful to my former nurse practitioner for the referral.
Dr. Sacks is the kindest, most reassuring person to usher any couple through a fertility journey. He was insightful and helpful - I’m pregnant! And his staff were always kind and nurturing.
Dr. Butler is a great, patient and kind doctor. From start to finish, he explained the entire process step-by-step and was always available to answer any questions. He was also realistic with expectations. I highly recommend him. Thanks Dr. Butler!
Dr. Butler and his staff are amazing. They were very patient, kind and caring. They truly a great example of what healthcare professionals should be. My husband and I will forever be grateful.
Dr. Rifka and his staff always provide excellent medical care. For many years I continue to receive the necessary professional assistance for better health. The office visits, exams, guidance and individual sincere concern is outstanding. I am so thankful that Dr. Rifka share and use his God given wisdom and talents with his patients and the world.
Dr. Rifka is very nice and knowledgeable. The staff at Columbia Fertility Center are extremely lazy, careless, and really hate working with patients there. I do not recommend this place to anyone seeking treatment. Find a better place to go.
Dr. Sacks is Knowledgeable & intelligent. he explains everything so easily. he is so warm. hes the best doctor Ive ever met. I highly recommend this doctor.
It was incredibly difficult to get an appointment because no one hardly answers the phone! But once I was seen, Dr Abassi was pleasant and informative and she took her time to get my history and to map out a treatment plan. Her staff is friendly and professional.
After 5 years of the most unpleasant experience (at Shady Grove) that ended with a miscarriage, I was referred to Dr. Butler at Columbia Fertility. What a difference!! They treated me like an individual and handled my case specifically to my needs. This process is not easy for anyone, but Dr. Butler and his team made my process as easy and as stress free as possible. Today I am 9 weeks pregnant and heard my babies strong heart beat for the first time!! I cried for two reasons, 1) because it was the most beautiful sound Ive ever heard, and 2) because oddly enough, I was really going to miss Dr. Butler and the staff at Columbia! As I hugged everyone on my way out the office from what was my last visit, I was so grateful for the knowledge, kindness and attention I was given to me throughout my process. I would refer anyone to this office! They are truly the best in this region.
Dr. Sacks is an AMAZING doctor. He explained everything in great detail and made me feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend him!
We couldn’t be happier with Columbia Fertility Associates! And feel blessed by having Dr. Rifka as our Doctor. He is truly amazing, the best Doctor we could ever have and asked for. Not to mentioned that he is making our dream come true of having our baby
So happy and satisfied with their work ,Doctor Rifka amazing nice person and does a great job my favorite person Anna Bell she’s one of the nurse in Columbia fertility very wise , and a wonderful person , everybody’s nice to be honest .Sandy front desk very friendly and she remembers you forever.Thank you so much for everything you guys did for me !!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
If I could give them one star I would. First Victoria over charged me $1000 without my authorization after I authorize her to charge $550 for my remaining balance. Apparently she’s not good at math. Then front desk staffs are rude and stupid. They shouldn’t be working there. Lastly, my IVF treatment request was approved by my insurance but I was not notified that and was keep doing IUI to waste my time and money. When I called my insurance about new treatment record I learned about my approved IVF treatment and it was already expired. I’m very disappointed as I was really expecting to have a baby sooner.
Dr. Rifka’s bedside manner is one of the best I have ever experienced. He’s thoughtful, patient, and his extensive experience inspires confidence even through a challenging treatment.
Dr. Butler and his staff are so amazing. I love how kind and patient they are. Dr. Butler is thorough he takes his time with you and listens. I love all the staff members at the Washington DC location.
Columbia Fertility has been a place of calm and positivity for me. Dr. Sacks and his staff are honest, straightforward and warm in their delivery of information, and there is always a high degree of professionalism and evident knowledge. I would highly recommend Columbia Fertility Associates to my closest family members, friends, and others seeking help/service in the area of fertility treatments.
The doctors seem very smart and skilled in their field. Unfortunately, they need to invest more in the operations and overall quality of their practice.Perhaps covid led to some gaps in oversight, but my first cycle was canceled due to getting the dates wrong for my cycle. The admin/finance aspects of my experience were really disorganized. Various emails/questions to nurses went unanswered. I received emails/calls from their staff that were meant for other patients (including the update of my protocol to trigger)! Might be some issues with HIPAA here? And, for the cost of the services they provide, you would think they could invest in a solid online portal? I switched clinics and the difference in organization and response was incredible. Every question/email I sent via their portal went answered. They never messed up knowing who I was. I received schedules for my protocol, so the dates were clear to everyone.I think you can get good medical care at CFA, but given the stress and confusion that comes with IVF, Id recommend finding a clinic that is better equipped to manage the process.
In my consultation (I haven’t had a follow up yet), Dr. Sachs was incredibly friendly, patient, and listened well. He discussed next steps without pressure or judgment.
Dr. Abbasi was really knowledgeable and the only fertility doctor that found out my body rejected boys and knew how to treat this condition. I was with Shady Grove Fertility for almost 4 years and never had a successful pregnancy or checked to see what the problem was. She may come of serious and stern, but thats because she has compassion for what she does and wants couples to be able to enjoy their bundles of joy. I was able to have twins (boy and girl) because of her dedication. Thank you so much!
I love Dr. Rifka. He is so understanding and an amazing clinician. He explains things in a way that is clear and concise. He doesnt have a lot of time because he has a lot of patients and work to do but he is a fantastic professional. He is fantastic.
I cant say enough good things about our experience with Columbia Fertility. Dr. Abassi and Holli were so wonderful to work with. They helped my husband and I get pregnant using donor embryos and a gestational carrier on the first try! I had so many questions and fears about IVF and this whole process and they were there at every turn with sound advice and calm patience. They truly are such a wonderful team. Holli goes out of her way to be helpful and to timely respond to emails and calls. Dr. Abassi makes herself available as well and is so knowledgeable about everything but still manages to explain it all in a way that non-doctors can easily understand. I highly recommend this practice and their donor embryo program.
I met with Dr Rifka, Safa, he’s absolutely amazing! He understands and can relate to us, wants what’s best and would go above and beyond to point us to the right direction for our family! Highly recommend him.
Dr. Abbasi, along with the staff at Columbia Fertility have been amazing.! Ive been seeing Dr. Abbasi now for over a year. She is very thorough with all of my testing and is very diligent on following up. Sarah Crumbley, RN is also very supportive and I truly feel as though they genuinely care about my concerns and feelings through my journey process to becoming a mother!
The nurses, admin staff, and doctors here are fabulous. They all made sure I was informed and comfortable as possible throughout the process. I was very pleased with the way everything went & would 10/10 recommend Columbia Fertility Associates.
The worst experience I have ever had with a medical practice. I should have read all of these negative reviews before I became a patient. The reviews are spot on - the financial department has been over-charging me for ten months. Marie Nurse and KimmyAnne Thong are so incapable and incompetent and have no idea how to manage the financials of this practice. When I discovered the mistakes and pointed it out to Marie and KimmyAnne they stopped responding to emails and wouldnt address my concerns. I even emailed all of the doctors letting them know that I was owed hundreds of dollars and they completely ignore my requests for repayment and dont respond to email. Save yourself the stress and find another practice. This place is a disaster!!
Dr. Abbasi is very knowledgeable and thorough and really listens to our questions and concerns. We also really appreciate how cognizant and considerate she is about the fact that infertility is a very expensive medical condition - she always lets us know general costs of tests up front to help us decide how to proceed. Not all doctors do that.
I was never able to see these doctors and cannot testify to their care. When I tried to make an appointment, I was told that the Arlington office in closed indefinitely and the Bethesda office has only 1 doctor who wont take new patients. The only available office is the DC office that has very little availability. If you would like to see a practice with an office outside of DC or one with availably, look elsewhere.
Dr. Butler and his staff are straightforward and warm in their delivery of information, and there is always a high degree of professionalism in their communications. I would highly recommend Columbia Fertility Associates to my closest family members, friends, and others seeking help/service in the area of fertility treatments.
It was good speaking with Dr. Sacks. He walked us through the process for the procedure we were considering. He was very responsive and answered all our questions. He has us feel comfortable about he steps.
I have been a patient of Dr. Safa Rifka for more than 20 years. Hes simply the best. I trust his opinions of my womans health impeccably. My only regrets is that I didnt know him or Columbia Fertility when I was having my baby!! Thanks for all you do! M.Griffith
My wife and I are seeing Dr. Rifka for fertility treatment. We find him to be an excellent doctor, however, weve now had to abandon two planned IUI treatment attempts because we were either given incorrect or incomplete information around the steps and procedures leading up to the IUI at a point where it was too late to take further action to save the chance of moving forward that cycle. We are at the whim of the practice to tell us what we should be doing and theyre failing us.
Great doctor. Super pleasant and knowledgeable. He studied my conditions and review my previous history in no time.Excellent discussion of my issue and advise on present/ future treatment.I strongly recommend him.
Dr. Butler is patient, kind, knowledgable and professional. He explains things with patience and in a concise manner to help you understand. The information provided doesnt sound like a foreign language. Hes very engaging with an exceptional bedside manner.
Dr. Sacks is a wonderful doctor. He explains everything. He is very patience. He has excellent bedside manners.
Dr. Sacks was amazing! He is relatable and knowledgeable. We feel like we have known him for years.
In addition to being a talented doctor, Dr. Sacks is easy to talk to. Very relatable and understanding. Important when youre trying to make tough decisions.
Dr. Rifka was very knowledgeable and sensitive. He was patient with my questions and concerns. He made me feel confident about the plan we laid out.
I highly recommend Dr. Sacks. If you are looking for a doctor that sees you as a someone they want to HELP and not as a statistic, Dr. Sacks is that doctor. I have had nothing but positive experiences with him.
I absolutely love Dr.Rifka! I have recommended him to several people that I know with the assurance that he will ease all your concerns and try his best to accommodate your needs as you go through the fertility process. I have only been to the D.C. location and will continue to go there as long as DR.RIFKA is there!
Dr. Sacks was prepared for my annual check-up, asked the right questions to assess my health, and issued prescriptions, all very pleasantly and efficiently.
I don’t know where to start. I went in at 6 weeks pregnant and had to wait a month for my blood/urine results. I only went here because of the great reviews, but now I’m not so sure of this clinic. I’m now 10 weeks pregnant with not a clue as to what has been or is now going on with my health. Could’ve saved myself the time and trouble and went elsewhere.
Dr Butler is truly a class act! He’s friendly, knowledgeable, open and created a warm environment for a anxiety-filled meeting.
Great experience as a first timer. The staff was very friendly and helpful.Dr. Abbass demeanor has really put me at eas e so i really recommend this clinic.
We give Dr. Abassi and her team at the Bethesda Office of Columbia Fertility our highest recommendation without reservation to anyone who is unable to achieve a desired pregnancy. My wife is currently 22 weeks pregnant with twins and we credit this to the clinical skills and professionalism of Rafat Abassi, MD.Prior to seeing Dr. Abassi, we were patients at three other local fertility clinics attempting to get pregnant with a donor egg. At each of these clinics we wasted precious time and money and were unable to achieve our intended results. As an experienced physician I feel that I am in a good position to evaluate other physicians.I can report that Dr. Abassi welcomed our input, made high quality recommendations, and through her expertise and skill was able to achieve the intended result. We still have 6 quality frozen embryos, and hope to repeat the process again in a year with Dr. Abassi.
Dr. Abbasi is very thorough in her assessment and plan. She investigated all the variables related to our fertility, presented all options, and empowered us to make the decisions based off the findings.
Dr. Abbasi and her team are incredible. I appreciate the science- based approach and Dr. Abbasi and her team take time to answer questions and are very responsive.
I waited my baby for about 2 years, and finally decided to go here. Dr. Rifka was really kind and explained everything throughly. Luckily, I got pregnant only 3 month after starting going here. Thank you everyone!
Dr. Rifka and his entire team are fantastic. They went above and beyond during the time I was a patient and beyond. I am very pleased with my experience.
My husband and I are thankful that Dr. Sacks set aside time to call us and address questions we had about fertility treatment. We are very appreciative
I am very exited to get this journey started with Dr. Sacks! He definitely made me feel comfortable.
An appointment with Dr. Sacks is like a visit with a friend who doesn’t sugar coat anything but is still very concerned about your well being. I’m so glad I chose CFA.
Dr. Sacks is one of the best doctors I ever had. I highly recommend him and his team!
We are starting with Dr. Sacks, I have a lot of faith in him, for the moment I can only say that he gave me confidence and that I believe a lot in his experience and that he will help me a lot
Dr Sacks and his team are wonderful. He will make your dreams come true. I greatly recommend Dr.Sacks
I have been trying to contact this facility by phone for the last week...I eventually just stopped by and left my information...no one has yet to reach out to me...this is a clear red flag... if its this hard just to get a consultation then what will the rest of the process be??
Our initial consultation with Dr. Rifka was very pleasant and gave us somewhat a higher level of confidence compared to other providers.
Dr. Sacks, is an attentive doctor who goes above and beyond for his patients. My husband and I thank him.
I had a nice experience at Dr Abassi’s office. She was compassionate and her staff were very kind and helpful.
Dr Butler has been awesome, I love how he breaks things down so you can understand. He makes you feel comfortable.
Since the first day I met Dr. Abassi and her team, I have felt comfortable and hopeful. They are very professional and caring
I had my first visit with Dr Safa for my thyroid checkup. He is very knowledgeable and kind, he took time to answer all my questions and made me feel valued.
I saw Dr. Rafat Abbasi at the bethesda office and am now pregnant with twins through embryo adoption. Great experience, wonderful communication (thanks Holli!) And success!
Columbia Fertility Associates, hands down is the best fertility center in the DMV area. They are personal, very knowledgeable and sincerely caring about you and your individual needs.
I had an appointment over the phone with D. Butler where he answered my question and that appointment costs me $400 !!!! When I was setting up the appointment I was told that the it will cost around 50$ ! Can someone please from the clinic help me to fix this? No one should be charged 400$ for an advice! I
Dr. Rifka and Columbia Fertility Associates are professional, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Dr. Rifka is simply THE BEST~ excellent in every category!
Not sure if this place is even still open, left several messages for a new patrimony appointment for days with no response. No one ever picks up the phone. How dependable.
His level of expertise combined with compassion has made it easy for me to address my fertility and hormonal issues without stress. Very good gynecologist!
Dr. Butler is AMAZING! He went above and beyond. Very thorough and professional! HIGHLY recommend!
Dr. Sacks is great! We will recommend him to anyone that wants fertility services!
I haven’t met another physician that follows up and answers every question as well as Dr. Butler. I appreciate him so much.
She is really experienced and knowledgeable MD. This was my first experience but I am sure I will get a great results and have a baby soon.
Dr. Sacks is incredibly caring, knowledgeable, and fantastic at providing high quality care!
I have seen a lot of one stars for this place get removed for no reason other than being 1 star. This place is terrible service, communication, billing and transparency.
Great experience as always with Dr. Sachs. He is clear in guidance and wonderful with clients.
I love that I see Dr. Butler at every visit. Compared to other Fertility Companies, Columbia Fertility Associates is more personal.
The whole office was WONDERFUL, PATIENT, and TRULY HELPFUL!! Dr. Rifka gives you all the information that you need and takes you step by step. Thank you
Dr. Rifka is terrific and professional doctor he has a very good personality and I would recommend him to everyone.
Very happy with the visit. Dr. Sacks is a great doctor.
Long time patient of Dr.Butler. Awesome bedside manner, great attention to detail and care.
Awesome first visit! Very excited to work with Dr. Sacks.
Dr. Rifka and his staff are nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend this practice.
I had a great time with Columbia Fertility at my first visit. The staff is professional and friendly.
She is really knowledge and help patient to understand every small thing that they need to know.
Impossible to reach them over the phone and a huge hassle to get my medical records from them
I had a very positive experience. Dr. Abassi answered all of my questions
I called this morning to schedule an appointment. The receptionist was so rude and unpleasant that I couldn’t continue.
Efficient and informative first visit, I was impressed and felt like I was in competent and caring hands.
I have been going to Dr. Safa Rifka for the past 20 years. Great practice.
Enjoyed chatting with Dr. Maurice for my very first visit.
The staff there is very nice and Signey Olson is the best she is very kind would recommend her 10/10
Met with Dr. Sacks, he was extremely patient, kind, and helpful.
Nice friendly Doctor. Made sure I was comfortable ❤️
We know it’s a business and all they care about is $$$$$ but at least answer the phone calls.
An excellent physician by every definition of the term. I am grateful.
Very professional nurses and I can reccommend Dr Sacks.
