Going in for our IVF monitoring appointments is really anxiety-inducing for me, as a person who is nervous about bloodwork and needles. The staff at K Street are kind and patient. Specifically, when Im having a bad day or my veins are being difficult, Rosalee always helps me feel comfortable and makes the experience painless. I am forever grateful when I hear her voice call me back! Thank you 🫶

Dr Csokmay is by far the best doctor I have ever been to. His love for his profession and care for his patients is palpable in the amount of time he spends with us making sure that we understand each step of the process. He is supported by an amazing team, who is very communicative and easy to reach. Everyone I have encountered is cheerful, knowledgeable, and kind. We couldn’t have asked for a better team.

I’ve only had great interactions with the team at this location. Not only are they nice and professional, but they’ve incredibly considerate of your time and process. The front desk (Clarissa & C.B) always makes me feel like a million bucks with their sweet smile when I come in, and the nurses are incredible. I really love this team. And yea, wait times can be crazy, so just be prepared. They always try to help moving things quickly but there’s so much we can do.

Sometimes SHF can feel like a machine and lack the human element. So many hopeful people and heavy stories. This week the office felt human to me. Nurses and staff engaged with me, asked questions and overall extended grace and compassion. While Rosae did my blood work and “made me smile” the nurse team doing my ultrasound sealed the deal when it comes to creating a loving space!

We had a great experience with the shady grove K street office and Dr. Devine and her team. We started our journey Fall of 2021 when Covid restrictions were largely still in place and the entire office did a great job of providing a comfortable environment when I was unable to be joined by my partner for appointments. Our journey was a little over a year of appointments at this office and procedures at Rockville and all the staff at both locations were awesome. The front desk staff at K street during this time were particularly amazing, welcoming me by name on most appointments, always friendly and accommodating. Phlebotomy staff were also great, efficient and gentle. They did a great job of reading the moment, whether I needed distraction with conversation or was having a day I felt more like keeping to myself. Overall I can’t say enough good things about shady grove fertility and the entire process they helped us through over the course of our journey.

Everyone here is SO warm and lovely, from the front desk to the phlebotomists to the ultrasound techs (especially Theresa!). Everytime I come into the office, I feel good knowing it is going to be an efficient experience with friendly faces. Communication has been top notch and I always feel like I have my questions answered completely and quickly. I was previously a patient at another clinic where communication was non-existent. It has been night and day since coming to SGF. I highly recommend this office!

***ATTENTION LADIES***Shady Grove is not only for IVF patients. If youve had multiple miscarriages like me, you might want to consider choosing Shady Grove (DC/K Street) to see their highly specialized reproductive endocrinologists.Let me start by saying KUDOS to my patient care coordinator Jo-jo (Jolissa) Vialva. I cannot praise her enough. She has been my champion and advocate throughout my maternal health journey. (More so than my OBs at Capital Womens Care who dont really seem to care half as much as Jo-jo.)Over the course of 5 months since I first made the appointment to see Dr Kimberly Moon (who was referred by three people I trust, including my gynecologist) Jo-jo has diligently and persistently followed up with me and even just messaged me from time to time to check up on me. Im blown away because NONE of my doctors ever do that. She truly makes you feel like she cares! I especially appreciate her effort to fit a virtual appointment with Dr. Moon to accommodate my husband and my busy schedules.Initially there was a lot of confusion and miscommunication with my insurance during my transfer from the Shady Grove Fairfax location (which is HORRIBLE). I was very upset, but everything got resolved thanks to Lauren the Director of the Shady Grove DC location who personally called me to rectify the situation. I was extremely impressed by her leadership and the patient-centered resolution. She even gave me her direct phone line to call her if I needed her assistance (though thanks to Kayla the finance coordinator, everything was taken care of as promised.) Her gesture definitely helped build my trust and confidence in the care I would receive at Shady Grove. In terms of actual care/procedure, Dr. Kimberly Moon was very generous with her time -- she was clearly knowledgeable and thorough in reviewing my previous records, and patiently answered my husband and my questions without making us feel rushed. Getting a saline sonogram at the location was seamless: from the check-in process (no wait time) to the friendly front desk staff and the sonographer, everything was efficient and easy. The facility was immaculate. While I cant comment on their IVF treatments, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to SHADY GROVE DC location to receive quality care and follow up!

We have been working with SGF for quite a while and I would recommend them to a friend. Our doctor, Kate Devine, has been wonderful. She is knowledgeable and attentive and I trust that she’ll get us where we need to be. I am very grateful to the K Street staff for their tireless assistance. I have finicky veins but Rosalee knows how to work them, which is no small feat when you have a blood test every day. Latrice has a gentle touch and a welcoming smile. Talking to both Rosalee and Latrice in the morning often makes my day!

This process means constant clinic visits, and while Ive only spoken to my doctor a couple of times, the nurses have been the constant thread and the real heroes. If you have pick a location, pick this one.Rosalee and Heyleen, in particular, have become more than just caregivers—theyre friends. We chat about everyday life, and theyve been such caring, supportive crew throughout this whole process. Their knowledge, carefulness, warmth and genuine care make every visit feel less clinical and more comforting. But know this includes EVERYONE, from the front desk to the practitioners, everyone at K Street has been amazing. They have been my hype crew, and i truly mean it. Their dedication and kindness have made this tough journey a lot easier from the moment I walk in. Bad Experience. wasted time and money at Shady Grove K Street! In my first visit, Dr. Moon recommended IVF instead of IUI. My partner and I agreed to the treatment. The Dr. and financial counselor insured me that my insurance is covering IVF and provided payment details, and nurses prescribed medication. Unfortunately, I experienced severe side effects, including uncontrolled vomiting and debilitating abdominal pain.Midway through the treatment, I received an unexpected email from Shady Grove stating that my insurance had been denied due to missing documents. They claimed to have appealed without informing me and failed to send the required supporting documents. After I successfully appealing our insurance claim with supporting documentation, Shady Grove sent a payment link for IVF. We underwent multiple rounds of blood work and monitoring before the egg retrieval. The clinic retrieved seven embryos, of which two fertilized and five were deemed suitable for genetic testing.A week later, we received devastating news; four embryos had perished, leaving only one viable for PGT-A. Shady Grove simultaneously advising us to start a second cycle without explaining the loss of the six embryos. I questioned the logic of sending a potentially compromised embryo for testing and the reason for suggesting another cycle before knowing the results. Two weeks later, we learned the sole embryo was abnormal, leading Shady Grove to recommend a second cycle. In overall, Shady Grove wasted seven months of my life and along with my insurance over $17,000 of my hard-earned money, with negative result. They prioritize financial gain over patient care, pressuring patients to sign numerous consent forms while offering little accountability.I strongly advise against choosing Shady Grove for IVF treatments. Their primary focus is business, not patient well-being.

Maybe they’re nice to folks doing IVF, but they couldn’t have cared less about my egg freezing. I was unclear on process and prices throughout, which went on long enough that it felt intentional. I sat in one appointment crying, with no response or comfort from the medical professional in the room. I don’t know who “my doctor” was but I think I saw her once. There is no way to call and speak to a person. Their partnerships with the prescription provider and the oocyte storage company lets them continue to take advantage of you on unexpected costs and poor communications. This company is truly the worst intersection of medicine and capitalism I have ever experienced in this country. I felt taken advantage of and unsupported, emotionally and medically. I tell everyone who asks - go anywhere else. I wish I had.

Dr. Widra and the entire staff at Shady Grove were phenomenal to work with. Dr. Widra was the second RE we worked with, and he was wonderful from start to finish. In our first consultation, he was familiar with the intricacies of my pretty complex case, and laid out our options really clearly, with empathy but also with lots of data and up-to-date research to support his recommendations. We were fortunate to have a successful first embryo transfer, and the entire medical staff, from nurses to PAs to doctors and the receptionists, were amazing every day. They answered all my many, many questions, their on-call nurse line is always responsive, and they let me come in for additional ultrasounds when I was feeling anxious and nervous. I’m so glad we made the decision to go with Dr. Widra and Shady Grove, and I hope to work with them again as we continue to grow our family in the future.

Provider portal is awful, and they dont answer any messages on there even when they say in their message to please reply with any questions. Billing is very tricky and you have to be 100% clear with them. They imply certain tests are covered by insurance, but what they really mean is that you can submit a claim to your insurance as out of network, thus leaving you stuck with a large portion of the bill. Absolutely zero transparency for billing practices. Im lucky theyre so bad at scheduling appointments and responding to any questions, because it saved me from going to them again and the surprise that certain services of theirs are basically never covered as in network.

EDIT: The response from SGF below this review is woefully inadequate because they have my contact information and have promised to be in contact with me but so far no one has. SGF is aware of this issue but they need their operations or business manager to start doing their job. SGF is clinically fine but operationally a fiasco.I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with Shady Grove Fertility, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. As a dedicated 9th grade history teacher at a Southeast DC school, my partner and I are eager to start a family, but our efforts have hit a roadblock due to the clinics rigid scheduling policies.Despite my genuine need for assistance, Shady Grove Fertilitys limited operating hours from 7 am to 4 pm on weekdays present a significant barrier for individuals like me who work full-time in demanding professions. When I attempted to schedule a sample drop-off for a male fertility test, I was met with inflexibility and refusal to accommodate any alternative dates or times. This not only jeopardizes my employment, as taking time off so soon after starting work could have serious consequences, but it also directly impacts the education of my students, who have already experienced a lack of continuity in their learning environment. What is particularly disheartening is the apparent disregard for individuals in essential roles, such as educators, who do not have the luxury of flexible working arrangements. It seems that Shady Grove Fertility caters primarily to those in white-collar professions, such as consultants and lobbyists, who have the privilege of working from home or adjusting their schedules with greater ease. This blatant class discrimination is deeply concerning and calls into question the clinics commitment to providing equitable access to fertility services.Despite having a standing doctors order to proceed with a fertility test, I have been left waiting for almost a month due to Shady Grove Fertilitys unwillingness to work with me to find a solution. This level of disregard for the needs of individuals in less flexible professions is unacceptable and highlights the need for greater awareness and sensitivity to the diverse circumstances of those seeking fertility treatment. I urge Shady Grove Fertility to reconsider its policies and prioritize inclusivity and accessibility for all individuals, regardless of their profession or socioeconomic status.

UPDATE 2:* Deep Sigh* Clinical interactions have been great. All of the clinical staff call you by name and are very personable. Dealing with the finance office has been less than stellar. Payment links for some services havent been working, getting invoices so that I can request reimbursements has taken way too long and the prices and programs on the website do not match the current pricing and programs offered by the clinic. When I pointed this out including a screenshot, the finance manager was not willing to honor the prices listed online and still hasnt updated the website. I understand program pricing changes over time, but this just comes across a bit skeevy. Either dont put the information on the website or make sure that it is correct when you make price changes.Instead, I was told to clear my cache on a device which I didnt even own prior to the pricing changes. I work in IT for a living and that just isnt correct. The finance office was an issue in previous cycles, and although the staff has been friendly and prompt there is just something so unprofessional about not having working links or an accurate website and not owning the mistake when its on your own end. It feels like the finance team is a hurdle to get over rather than supporting the clinical team.UPDATE 1:Im now starting my second pregnancy with SGF (fingers crossed) and have had a much better experience this time around. Part of the change is that I now have a much better idea of what to expect and the other part is that some of the online educational tools have improved and the fact that I had a better financial counselor experience. I went in with a much better understanding of next steps and am hopeful for another successful pregnancy.ORIGINAL:A lot of paperwork errors and some challenging communications shook my confidence in the support staff. The whole process has been sort of an assembly line process and I’ve only met with Dr. Widra once. Not sure I’d recommend this office to anyone else if there were other options available with more of a personal touch. The staff needs to be more organized and manage paperwork in a way that boosts confidence and make people feel like they can ask questions of someone they know and trust.

Horrible patient care. The team of nurses responsible for coordinating my appointments were incompetent and I experienced multiple communication issues. First, when I reached out to proceed with IVF after my initial consultation, they told me the doctor created an IUI plan, not IVF, and I needed to have another consult. This was incorrect. I never stated what I wanted to do in my consult. The doctor provided information on all options and told me to reach out and let her know how I wanted to proceed when I was ready. Next, they suddenly had an IVF plan and I didn’t need to repeat my consult (great, I thought). I provided all of my tests and signed all of their paperwork (my tests had to be sent more than once and they claimed they didn’t have all the information and I needed to go back and get more bloodwork, not true, it was all there), I was mailed bc and scheduled a call with a nurse due to my lack of confidence after the numerous nurses who messaged me back in the patient portal with conflicting information, at the time we scheduled the call, no one called me. I called the office who knew nothing about my scheduled call, I did receive a call later that day and went over the steps in detail. I wrote everything down. I was assured there are always available appointments and not to worry about that. I reached out when my cycle started to let them know so they could book my appointment. I let them know I started bc per their instructions, I got my bloodwork to report my hormone levels per their instructions, I was then told that they have no available appointments, stop taking bc, try again next cycle. (The month prior I was also told I could not begin treatment due to the new year and needing insurance information confirmed, my insurance didn’t change and I have progyny benefits that were already started for my cycle). I called the office to speak to someone because it was a serious matter and I wanted more than a message in the portal. No one returned my call. The message they returned in the portal was, sorry, that was another nurse on the call and she didn’t make you an appointment and there’s nothing available.Infertility is burdensome enough. This experience made it that much worse.

Terrible experience here. I set an appointment 6 weeks in advanced and they waited until the day before my appointment to attempt to run my insurance and tell me that I had no fertility coverage and had to pay out of pocket for the appt. I called my insurance who verified I had office and diagnostic work-up coverage, but no treatment coverage. SGF then told me they dont call insurances for first appts and I would have to pay out of pocket, office manager said so. Mind you, I was never even speaking to their billing person, just their office receptionist because she couldnt get ahold of billing. I cancelled the appt and never heard from them again. Dr. Moon and her nursing team were very communicative and always answered our questions--I felt like I was in good hands at all times. We actually started out at another clinic in the area and transferred to SG because the other was annoyed when we asked questions about finances and certain protocols they wanted us to follow. We found the opposite at SG. Everyone made sure we had what we needed to move forward. Plus, the shared risk program is a great option and gave us peace of mind. I really cant recommend them and Dr. Moon enough.I know others have complained about the wait times, but I rarely waited 20 mins beyond my appointment time. After December the office was busy, but it became pretty sparse come March/April. Also, for those complaining about not being able to bring children, this is standard for most fertility clinics. Its a compassionate approach for patients and Im so so glad SG has this policy in place. Seeing a baby/toddler at my office while in the trenches of infertility treatment would have been hard.

The fertility services were good in my experience. However, in late 2022 they stopped requiring masks for staff and patients. It is also unclear what if any ventilation standards they have in place. I wish they would at least install air purifiers -- they are easy to find and a lot of medical practices do this to ensure everyone is breathing clean air and not getting sick from seeking medical care. Many Shady Grove patients are pregnant, and thus more vulnerable, and the waiting rooms often get crowded with partners, patients, staff, etc. The DC location has more people masking than the Northern Virginia location in Arlington but it definitely gets crowded. When I went to the Arlington location a few months ago, they had patients coming in and out of the blood lab room, being treated by unmasked workers -- everyone is in close quarters. Luckily my OB and doctors separate from Shady Grove are still taking simple precautions to protect one another from airborne viruses. I wish Shady Grove would also.

The staff at this center had absolutely no compassion or sensitivity. The waiting room was packed, in spite of the pandemic, with no social distancing. I asked the technician to explain what she was going to do before she did it, and she refused! She didnt even introduce herself. Her attitude was strip and spread your legs, or get out. Absolutely no effort was made to help me feel more comfortable, even after I started crying. I was not treated like a patient and was barely treated like a human. Apparently they think they are selling fast food, and not getting involved in one of the most private and intimate parts of peoples lives. On top of that, they forgot to give me my test results for weeks. I had to call multiple times to get them to do their job. I am so glad that I am going to a different clinic for the remainder of my treatment. The IVF journey is frustrating, challenging and emotional. I have waited three weeks to allow time to reflect and share my personal experience with SGF (K street) as a patient. Overall the experience was not very positive due to how things were communicated, limited access to my physician and certain standards of communication. The positives first: my sonographer, Latrice was amazing. She took the time to learn my cycle as we went two rounds together. The amazing and musically joyful crew who constantly kept me smiling and jamming as they drew early morning blood.Beyond that, I wish I would have done better research in my choice selection. The website boasts “individualized approach” my engagement with SGF was attuned to a fast-food chain. The interactions rushed, cookie cutter updates, like going to McDonalds but receiving a bill for a five-star wagyu steak dinner. If you are looking for one-on-one attention, look somewhere else. All the doctors are on a rotation, and it is rare you will speak or even see them at appointments. Unless as I was informed, I change what is best for me to what was on the schedule for my doctor (Dr. Nair). On the rare occasions, Dr. Nair had to change her schedule to meet mine. It was often met with disdain and the unnecessary sharing of “how busy she was, or how she’s making so many adjustments just for me”. This was a theme I heard multiple times from her and her nursing staff. My advice to SGF is to hire more people; clearly you aren’t short of income. As a “self-pay” patient who’s insurance didn’t cover IVF to be told constantly how busy everyone is or how I should be grateful for Dr. Nair’s time was very disappointing and counter to the “individualized approach” advertised. In no situation is anyone’s time more important than anyone elses. The unsatisfactory communication happened during both of my processes. I had to constantly ask for updates, challenge why we weren’t taking a more aggressive course and even get my mom involved to combat frustration or repeating myself and still getting the same behavior from staff. If you’re a gluten for punishment and decide to go to SGF don’t get shamed into feeling like you can’t ask questions or question a recommended path. (especially if you’re multiple rounds in). This is a multi-million-dollar industry where the hospital, doctors and pharmaceutical companies always win. Make sure you hold people accountable and are in the right place, with the right team to increase your chances of a winning hand.

The doctors are fantastic and spend a lot of time with patients, the staff has always been very friendly and pleasant, and the facilities are lovely. For most appointments I am in and out very quickly (there is an occasional wait every now and then which is not surprising). They have done a great job through COVID and I have always felt safe. Thank you to the SGF team!

Although I was a patient of Dr. Nair, who only practices at the K Street and Arlington locations, I most often visited the Rockville location for bloodwork, testing, etc. So this review is specifically for Dr. Nair.We started working with Dr. Nair during COVID last summer. Even in video consultations, which she was flexible enough to provide, Dr. Nair was very caring and kind from the start. She listened patiently to all our questions and laid out all our options very clearly. My husband and I never felt like we didnt have the information we needed to make the important decisions we had facing us.Our nurse, Christina, was amazing. She always gave super detailed instructions on next steps, medications, what to expect, etc., and was so sweet, empathetic, and patient with all my questions along the way. She also went above and beyond to help me in a pinch when my medications couldnt be delivered in time.If I have one bit of criticism, its that the appointment times with doctors after you get out of the consultative phase (when you begin treatment) are always rushed. Its clear the doctor still cares, but you do have to fire off your questions pretty quickly before she has to rush to the next appointment. Not the doctors fault, but the only bit of working with Shady Grove that I didnt love.Side note: If youre visiting the office during COVID, I would recommend visiting either the Arlington or Rockville offices instead of K Street if you can. The K Street office staff are so friendly, but the office itself is very small, so its hard to stay socially distant from other patients. I felt more comfortable at the other offices where theres more space. You can still work with the doctors at K Street virtually.Overall, I would recommend Shady Grove Fertility and Dr. Nair to anyone struggling with fertility issues. Theyre a caring team and their wealth of experience shows.

I had a fantastic egg freezing experience at SGF! Dr. Widra and his team were knowledgeable, communicative, and reliable and through every step of the process. The K Street teams were consistently friendly on each visit and made themselves available for phone calls when I had questions in the beginning and throughout my cycle. Don’t be afraid to ask your questions about the process as a whole, medication options/pricing, what you’re seeing on the ultrasound screen, etc. The team was always happy to help and explain. I highly recommend the injection class as well—it was very helpful to practice and ask questions. SGF is a top-tier fertility center and I’d recommend it to anyone pursuing fertility preservation!

The phlebotomists are very nice, especially Alexis and Sarah. Im notoriously difficult at getting blood taken, and they give me a heating pack and let me lay down for the blood draw (particularly later in a cycle when Ive had so much poking done!) And Latrice the ultrasound technician is incredible. She makes a tough process better with her wonderful attitude. She also explains what youre looking at re: the ultra sound.

Good Morning, I usually do not like writing reviews, but I had a great time this morning here at SGF D.C location. To me, the staff are very friendly and respectful. I wish I had everyone that help me names. The service was very fast and professional. The lady answer all my questions . I know before going I took time and was reading everyone reviews. My husband told me, “ let God go with you and everything will be ok” and that what I did. Thank you

We had a terrific experience with SGF. We loved Dr. Divine and her team of nurses and Latrice, the sonographer. Throughout our experience, Dr. Divine was candid, informative, and patient. She was responsive when we had questions and always balanced genuine care with factual information. I always felt she cared deeply about our desire to have a family and was our partner in our efforts to conceive a child. Prior to going through IVF/infertility, I was unaware of how many decision points there would be -- which treatment options to pursue, whether to cycle again, when to transfer, etc.. With each tough choice, she shared the available data as well as her own experiences, allowing us to make the best decisions possible for our unique circumstances. I believe that the embryo that ultimately became the baby lying next to me was created during the height of the pandemic. I am grateful to the entire SGF team for keeping the clinic open and allowing us to finish that cycle. I know it was very challenging to make those decisions as we all struggled to understand this new and frightening virus. Finally, I appreciated the fact I could go to 7 AM appointments. That really helped me manage treatments and my work schedule. We will definitely be back when we are ready to conceive our second child! My critical feedback for SGF is for the financial services department. I had so many questions about treatment costs, insurance, payment plans, etc. It was hard to reach my assigned financial counselor. And, when I did, I did not get the information I needed clearly and had difficulty weighing different options.

Dont trust this money sucking shop. They lost my blood sample, and they try to bring the clients back a few times for a simple checkup that would normally be done in one session, in order to charge them over and over.

As others stated, this place gives zero attention and zero care to patient. Dont waste your time and monney. We came for routine tests before IVF and we decided to stop working with this center based on the behavior of the staff. There is always a chance that one or two staff one day have some problem and cant provide service at a standard level but after dealing with 3-4 of them in 3 different occations we saw that the culture in this center is not right and it is definitely not about patient care.

I am in my third IVF cycle and, overall, my experience with Shady Grove - particularly at this location - has been very positive. My three complaints: the billing system, which could be clearer; my initial appointment wait time; my first nurse was nice but a bit flaky. These three things set aside, Ive only been treated very kindly and with dignity and sensitivity by the staff, have had all of my questions answered no matter how minute, and have had nothing but encouragement. We have not been successful, yet, but nobody has been pushy with our choices in terms of what we can afford and how much time i needed between cycles. For the man who reviewed below with the note that he hopes those that are sensitive about babies being in the office get used to babies if they are going to have one... please remember that not everyone has success and is able to have a child in the end. Its not about babies in the waiting room playing, crying, or otherwise making noise. Its about patients going in to find out that day for them, there may be no hope. Someone may just have been told that their results indicate that pregnancy is not possible at all, or that the heartbeat that they had 3 days days ago had ceased. When i was told my pregnancy had unfortunately ended, and there was no longer a heartbeat, i appreciated the sensitivity of not having children in the waiting area. Who needs the reminder at a moment like that? This man and his wife were very lucky, and he should keep that in mind the next time he feels inconvenienced.

Shady Grove is a zero empathetic and horrible place, which is all you dont need when you are seeking fertility treatment. I came in for a consultation with Kimberly Moon due to recurrent miscarriages and her knowledge on the subject was almost zero. She had no information to give us other than what our OB had already given, being completely outdated with the latest research on the subject. She offered no extra tests for us, although many tests could have been requested that have been already scientifically proven to be the cause of miscarriages. Then she proceeded to push IVF on us, which was completely not the solution in our case. After a frustrating visit, I kept receiving thousands of emails and calls from Shady Grove asking when I was going to start the IVF processs. Clearly, they are only interested in the money, not in finding a solution to our issues. To top the lack of knowledge and completely wrong follow-up, they charge you USD100 to schedule the first appointment, that they claim will be used for future visits/ treatment. On top of that, they charged me for the copay on the appointment (that should have been covered by the USD100), and even after I paid, they charged me AGAIN!!! If you want or really need an IVF, this might be a place to get it, since its what motivates them and makes their money, but if you need a sympathetic place that really looks into your needs and treats you like a human, not a wallet, run away from this horrible place.

The front desk staff and lost of the Lab Lovelies, particularly Ms. Z and Ms. L literally breathed new life into our fertility planning/process. After being racially profiled, targeted, and dismissed from The SGF Fairfax location- These professional asked my partner and I to keep our faith in SGF K Street’s ability to live up to SGF’s mission statement which states- “We are committed to providing the most comprehensive, efficient, fiscally responsible, and compassionate care possible, involving both the medical and emotional aspects of infertility.” Ms. Z and Ms. L went above and beyond in the realm of compassionate care. Staff took the time to help us better understand our options through a personalized lens. They applied the highest level of empathy that I have felt in the Western Medical community since I was eligible for pediatric care. Needles to say, my partner and I recently found out that our second round of low tech, first round of IUI has manifested life inside me. I can say unequivocally the care shown by Ms. Z and her lovely team was the dominating factor in our fertility success! My current and future family are forever thankful for the professionalism, support, and sheer compassion shown by the K Street frontline team!

The staff are polite, however, their lack of understanding how their own organization functions caused the situation where—after multiple calls and a previous visit—my sample was throw-out in front of me.Be prepared to waste your time, or at a minimum, spend time learning how their organization operates as their employees do not know themselves.

This place is to be avoided. You get over charged, under served, and almost all the onus is put on the patient. I had a nurse call my wife with a litany of instructions which no one could remember and we were boarding a plane so my wife asked if the nurse could please send it via the portal site... the nurse said no she did not have the time? This is only a recent example, we paid up front and are early on in the process, am not hopeful about what the future and Shady Grove has in store for us. If you look at the rating you see 2.7 but look at the breakdown, they actually get lots more 1s and a few 5s to prop it up, do not be fooled.Sept 2020.Dear Ms. Gerber, NO. You do NOT get to look like the good guy by responding after-the-fact. We did not get the name of the nurse, and I had already called back and got a horrendous run around and had just given up by the time I saw this; being told no we have no record of that, we are sorry [for the 100th time] etc etc etc when you are paying thousands of $ is not acceptable. Unless you are going to refund us our money then there is nothing for us to talk about. The ONLY reason I am responding now is to let every know there is hope, but NOT with shady grove. We have since tried again but with another clinic, not only have we had MUCH better results, and a much better experience in general, the doctors have actually bothered to call my wife to check in, give updates, ANSWER QUESTIONS... not some carousel of nameless nurses asking the same questions over and over because they have no clue who you are (or are too lazy to read our med files?). Finally the clinic, while NOT endorsing, did at least tell us about out-of-country medication options in the UK (ie Europe, not some questionable 3rd world supplier), we spent 1 friggin 3rd of the money we did while using Shady Grove, advising on other options would have been appreciated considering all the money we were already spending. Finally, I noticed Shady Grove actually got some positive reviews which I couldnt believe, but then i checked some of them and some (obviously not all) of the positive reviewers give positive feed back in like 90% of the things they left reviews for? I dont generally do reviews but I made this account specifically so I could leave a review for Shady Grove.Dear Everyone, Keep in mind the shady part when thinking of shady grove; Thanks for nothing.

My first time there they lost my blood work. I gave them another chance and they Only order medication for 2 dose but I needed extra after monitoring on a weekend. However, I didn’t have the medication. I had to come the next day which was a Monday the doctor assured me it’s ok to take it on that day. Needless to say the cycle didn’t work. I tried again where the nurse coordinator told me I didn’t need blood work only ultrasound for the new cycle. The doctor did the ultrasound and noticed a cyst and wanted blood work which showed high estrogen level that didn’t allow me to start my cycle. I waited 2 more month and came back to start my cycle again and did blood and ultrasound on a weekend. When the nurse called me to tell me the result she only mentioned about pregnancy test and when I asked how my estrogen level was she told me it wasn’t done. The moral of the story if you can avoid Shady grove fertility in DC please do so they are a waste of time and money. I have to say the office manager Sara was incredibly nice But I didn’t need nice I needed result.

It seems pretty ridiculous that surgical appointments dont receive a scheduled time until 1-2 days before the scheduled date when they know your scheduled day weeks in advance. Even cable companies can give a 4-hour window with less than 24 hours notice for scheduling. What kind of business operates this way?

No baby allowed inside. When waiting for my wifes appointment daddy with baby (a very quiet one) are not allowed in the waiting room. If I could wait outside. Very, very odd for an organization that aims to help people make more babies... guess a lot of sensitivity for the clients? Hope people get used to babies once they have one. Also, my wife got a first payment notice on the evening of the 9th, and on the checkup visit on the 10th she was not allowed to leave before payment. I had to come over with a credit card with enough balance. Normally you expect some type of payment due period longer than 12 hours. Things like this put unnecessary stress on an already stressful procedure. The whole financial advice structure with someone seemingly external to the organization could become more transparent. Most is done in phone calls. Limited things are put on paper, apart from your invoice.
