First visit as a first time expecting father and mother was a pleasant experience. The staff from the front desk, to the technicians, to the nurse and nurse practitioner were all super friendly, helpful, and respectful of all of our questions, comments, and concerns. Here is to hoping all future visits are as great as the first!
First time mom review - Im absolutely floored by the staff at this unit. The front desk staff has an attitude 8/10 times.. half the doctors I felt like treat you like a number. At one appointment I literally had a doctor walking out the door before I was even finished talking. They did not prep you ahead of time for your appointments if something was going to be different at your next visit. I was so distressed by their behaviors that I transferred care at 35 weeks pregnant because I just couldnt not continue one more appointment with them. I tried to give grace and benefit of the doubt with them as I get people are busy and people have bad days.. but behaviors never changed.
Stay away from this place. You are treated as just a number. This is my first pregnancy and I can honestly say they ruined this experience for me. Don’t explain anything, I’m always the one to ask questions, and when I do I feel like I’m an annoyance. My concerns and questions don’t matter. Not to mention they lost TRACK OF HOW FAR ALONG I was in my pregnancy by 5 weeks and when I tried to correct them they just said oh yeah you’re right. Total lack of effort - type of people who are just there for a paycheck. I had to ask to be checked if I was dilated & effaced at 38 weeks and the doctor said “yeah I suppose I could check that”. I couldn’t remember the last time I had an ultrasound AND I’ve been in twice for decrease fetal movement. I could go on and on. THEY DONT CARE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE PLEASE.
First they refused to change my name to properly receive my records from the VA after multiple phone requests. They couldnt match the right last name so they shredded the records. I did my part by requesting the VA send them 3 times. The VA had proof they were sent. I had to drive five hours each way to be told theres nothing they can do for treatment because they didnt have my records. So I rescheduled for the following month so they would have my records. Had my appointment. They messed up my billing for every appointment because they cant follow the directions to file a VA claim. They didnt attach my authorization number to my bills so I had to deal with customer service to get it fix. I like my doctor but the front desk staff is worthless and causes nothing but headaches. They dont care and need to have consequences for miss billing because this is negligent.
My daughter was scheduled for a confirmation of pregnancy appointment by mistake by Unity Point because she had already had the pregnancy confirmed. She thought she was there for her first check up. She left that Unity Point office and went to the OBGYN office and explained what had happened. The receptionist apologized and scheduled her for an appointment with them. My daughter called back the next day and they told her they would have to review whether they would take her as a patient since she left the other appointment. This appointment was their mistake and then they were going to penalize her? She went to a different doctor. Ridiculous.
All those bad reviews are really old! I love this place, all the ppl working there is very friendly and helpful. Dr Mintzer is phenomenal! He answered all my questions and explain everything to me. 100% recommend! Great place
Honestly if you’re not an expecting mom and you just need contraceptive help, go somewhere else. Easily the least informative doctors I’ve ever encountered. I was given the IUD implant without given a prior pelvic exam or warned that for some women it can be intensely painful for a long period of time. I got that taken out and was recommended to the nuva ring and was given this without being measured so what I received constantly falls out. I would recommend someone go to their primary care doctor before coming here. Very little concern for contraceptions.
I honestly never take time to do reviews especially bad ones but I just have had the worst experience here. I just got a call back from a triage nurse name Jaklyn.. l had called earlier and inquired about getting my iud out. I explained that I had no idea how it worked and about how they couldnt find my strings and had to have an ultrasound in Feb to make sure it was in place etc. She comes back with 80% of iuds you cant see the strings and its fine I said, “okay yeah I know now its fine because I talked to a nurse about it when this happened months ago I was just mentioning that.“ I am more curious about the process of getting it out. She says you call and make an apt and we take it out Im like okay wow this lady is being rude but I kindly repsond. I know that, I will be scheduling an apt to have it taken out but before I did that I was waiting to hear back from a nurse like yourself so you could tell me what to expect.. I want to know how long it takes, will there be bleeding, pain after, etc. Anyways she was seriously just so rude and short and not meant to be on the phones. Interesting someone already left a review about her. She literally has to hate her job and probably her life.
I came to Lakeview OBGYN as an expectant mother. I saw five different doctors and nurses, and all of them were kind, professional, and informative. Even if they were running behind they made sure I got all my questions answered. It was a great experience and I recommend this team without hesitation!
Aggressively looking for a new OBGYN before my first visit: even talking to the receptionist and triage nurse about various concerns I always get turned down or they just don’t care. Sent it paperwork June 3, and she didn’t complete it until June 18 which has now put my job on the line. I WILL NOT go here and neither should you.
I love going here! They are so nice and really caring plus your not just waiting around constantly, they quickly take care of you and make sure you and baby are definitely okay! They truly care and respect you here.
Not a bad place to visit, nice entrance and what not. Comfused in why the doctors ObGyn and others do not use this place to have surgurys. Why would they have a patient go to another place, especially downtown to have a surgury, was disappointed that I had to get a ride that far. The one main reason seeing a doctor here was the location.
Nurse Katy could care less if your baby is safe and healthy. Stay away. The place is like a factory farm, and you are the meat.
My Pap smear didn’t hurt at all
This place was so much better then the OBGYN I went to with my other kids. They were more respectful and nice. I was pretty impressed.
Dr Lehman is great, took the time to explain me about my period and questions I had. I like her honesty and friendly personality 😌
I had a fantastic experience here with every doctor for my first pregnancy.
