Horrible experience. Would not recommend. I went there last year because I was experiencing some swelling in my feet. Provided my insurance and was told I was in network and covered. Saw the doctor and left. Two months later I received a bill for $543 stating that my insurance was NOT in network. Never again. Do not go here. I will come back later and post my bill. Fraudsters. See picture of my bill below. DO NOT GO HERE EVER. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
This place should close down. When I arrived, I encountered an individual who appeared to be a registerer. She refused to give her name when asked and started to speak to me very rudely. I then proceeded to see the doctor on duty, who was very rude and condescending. When I explained to him what had happened, he got in my face and started to point his finger at me while yelling at me. I was scared for my life as I thought he was going to hit me. He entered the office with the zipper on his pants opened and his clothes very filthy. He was disorganized and proceeded to ask me to diagnose my child, and I explained to him that he was the doctor and should tell me what was wrong with my child. He then refused to provide care for my child and asked us to leave. I explained to him that, considering you would bill my insurance for this visit, I needed a treatment recommendation. He got loud and started yelling at me in my childs presence while my child was sick. I then asked him for a treatment recommendation on paper; he refused to give me anything in writing. I will seek legal advice for the treatment I received today. Please DO NOT go to this place. This place is not safe for anyone. The doctor in question is Dr. John Green. He is a horrible doctor. I am still in tears from this experience. Thankfully, there is a recording of my experience today and of him in my face yelling at me.🥺
No complaints about the quality of care in the West Orange location, or the Springfield location, quickly checked in and was seen by the nurse and doctor in a relatively short period of time. I’ve been to both these locations multiple times and truly no reason for me to complain about anything. I would recommend calling ahead and making an appointment if possible.
This was my first time to the Care Station and I was impressed with the friendly yet professional behavior of the staff. I was also impressed with the Dr. who cared for me. Everyone listened to me regarding my health condition, explained things when necessary and treated me with kindness and respect.
Experienced difficulty walking not able to put weight on right leg. Intake was thorough and the staff responded very quickly, Dr Neal was efficient, effective and caring. Recommended Xray before diagnosis. Left more knowledgeable about my condition. Overall very pleased with Service Provider. Peace and Blessings.
I think improving on patient / customer care, and front facing staff hospitality & communication (the scattered signs everywhere are not helpful) should be prioritized in order to improve the overall experience. I had a scheduled follow up appointment and the doctors were running about 45 minutes to an hour late, with no attempt to inform patients of the delay. I had to leave and cancel my appointment because I needed to return to work. I never had anyone call to reschedule or follow up with me. In addition, I was prescribed medication without an explanation, which was confusing. Definitely a disappointing experience to say the least.
Excellent care and friendly staff! From the moment I walked in, the staff were warm and welcoming, creating a comfortable atmosphere that put me at ease.Dr. Lorena was exceptionally nice and took the time to listen to my concerns, answered all my questions thoroughly, and explained .I would highly recommend their services to anyone seeking quality medical care with a personal touch.
THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Don’t bother going if you’re sick. I waited 2 hours and people came in after me and I still was left waiting. I left shaking because I was crying. You would think the staff cared. Not one ounce of concern. To be sick and left waiting, ignored, and disregarded is not a good feeling. Not sure the purpose of 3 people at the front when they have no customer service and direct everyone to check in at the kiosk. They were on their phone and seem like our wait and frustration was an inconvenience. As someone who work in healthcare it’s embarrassing and I will be escalating my complaint.I will be following up to ensure my copay was refunded.
While the facility is well equipped, and the staff pleasant, getting registered is a bear. I understand that medical practices like using apps to save on labor costs, but it would be infinitely speedier and more efficient to do registration with a warm and competent person. Particularly when people are feeling unwell, asking a new client to fumble their way, squinting, hunting and pecking in order to jump the gauntlet to be seen.
This place is a joke. They’re scamming people. My husband and I have paid the copay every time at the window, but they keep sending us additional copay bills after each visit. I called the billing department a million times. Some representatives guessed we were seeing a specialist, some said it was an insurance adjustment, some said they would look into it and call me back but never did, and some even said, Oh, the majority of people just pay it without questioning; it’s just a copay. I wanted to talk to a supervisor, but they were never available. Today, they want me to show them my credit card statement to prove my payment. It is ridiculous! If anyone wants to join me in fighting against this double charging, please contact me. We need to stop them from scamming people. I’m going to post about this place on social media to gather more victims.Let’s fight for our rights!
Professional Staff and service. Best to schedule an appointment. Accepts most insurance. All in one facility, physical therapy, x-rays, ultrasound, stress tests…the works! They are my primary care provider and Dr. Aljamal is EXCELLENT! First doctor who has been able to help me realize the importance of maintaining good health.
The doctor was rude. She dont know what the other medical terms meant in my file, that her fellow doctor/co worker wrote. She sent my medication to the pharmacy without directions ,so the pharmacy cant release it to me . So now its been 2 days not I nor the pharmacy can contact the care station. Terrible treatment doctor Kim Martin-Widawsky, so much more to say but I think ppl will understand this why this place is 1 star. If u can help it do not go to this office.
The entire team was very awesome! It’s my first visit to this facility, I took my grand niece on vacation from Canada here for medical need. I am very satisfied and will visit again if need be for my care. The location is also only five minutes drive from my house.
Tested positive for Covid I was told a Dr would call me to go over my results, everyday for 4 days I called the office to speak with a Dr on treatment or follow up or even to get a Dr note off for work and got the run around still never spoke with a Dr!!!
If I could possibly give 0 stars to this place I would. I used to come here when needed, but now I won’t anymore !! This urgent care is now a joke, you walk in to be welcome with a “do you have an appointment?” You say “No” and then 40 minutes later with an empty waiting room none of the front desk ladies even tried to recognize that you’re there or give you an explanation of why they don’t call you to get your information, some people walked in after me and they were called right away !! Again this place is a Joke, better off to go to AFC which is faster and they give you a great treatment there.
I LOVE care station @ staff is friendly, service is efficient a d effective, they are well supplied, doctors are knowledgeable. They have specialists!!! The sports medicine doctor pulled the pain out of my shoulder and arm!!!! I LOVE him now!Im really considering making them my primary care! They ate fast too!
My usual visits are ok, but this last visit I did not like. I arrived to the facility concerned about shoulder pain; this wasnt my first rodeo with this problem and the doctor usually gives me a steroid shot and send me on my way. I was looking to receive the same treatment that day and the doctor didnt want to give me the shot because I told him that I was going to physical therapy the following day. I didnt particularly care for this decision, but he said that he would at least give me some anti-inflammatories. Welll, fast forward to later that day, my prescription couldnt be filled because you need to GET THE SHOT FIRST 😡, before you can take the pills because the pills are that strong. The pharmacist made an attempt to contact the doctor which by the way did not return her call because he(the doctor) wasnt available. So I was back at square one still in pain, and no medication. He also wouldnt write me note to remain out of work for 2 days or more though he told me that the prescription is really strong. Let that sink in for a moment. Care Station if you read this, the senior male doctor JOHN GREEN IS AN IDIOT 😡. Thank you
Omg!! The doctor was most helpful/Very attentive/ great/ give exceptional care.Only one thing I didn’t get her name.I was happy and pleased. With my check up
Despite the horrible experience I had on 5/20/24, I went to the West Orange Care Station on 6/2/24 for muscle spasms in my leg. Everyone was very professional, knowledgeable and caring. It was a stress free visit. Thank you.
There are 2 ladies here at the front desk their names are Sade and Jessica they are so respectful, diligent and always ready to help, compare to 1 fat lady at the front desk that always look down on people. I’m giving this site 5 star because of 2 these wonderful ladies for a job well done.
Every time I have an appointment, I check in an sit there for over 1 hour before being called. My last list, I went in at 8 15 am for a reading of my last blood work. At 8 45 am I was still waiting and no one looked at me. And then everyone seemed shocked that I was there 🙄
Its a shame how rude the staff is at this clinic. People come there because they are in need of medical attention and may not be able to see their PCP. To be met with rude staff from the front desk to the nurses is so disappointing.I left my appointment feeling frustrated, dejected and not planning to return ever again.
I have had bad experiences with do tors that have left me with PTSD. I went to CareStation after years and years of no GP- due to this. I have felt very safe and supported. A couple of my visits were rushed, for urgent care, but overall, they managed to uncover some underlying health issues and given me complete treatment. I would not go anywhere else- it is also nice to have your regular doctors office available as urgent care to keep all records in one place.
Tiffany is genuinely caring, and consistently available. She exhibits the proper bed-side manner to alleviate stress that so many of us acquire throughout the day and does not respond when one might be a bit short tempered.
Timeline of me getting a walk in covid test. It took 4hrs and 59 mins. Wanted to share my experience. This was November 20. Friday afternoon.12:15 walked in and put name on list for covid test. Went out to car to wait2:40 was called to enter and fill out paperwork, provide ID and insurance card2:45 submitted paperwork, returned to car to wait.2:55 called to retrieve documents and ID. Went back outside to wait in car3:15 finished a bag of chips and a soda4:40 asked front desk what the wait was, “only one person in front of me”. Returned to car to wait.4:55 entered room, swapped (3-5day result test), told to wait for doctor to see me before leaving5:14 left the buildingI’m not sure this is the most effective way to get tested. I would encourage EVERYONE to make an appointment, but I did speak with other patients who had two hour+ waits even with apt. It could be the holiday season, but something in my gut tells me that we can be more efficient about how this process is handled. The staff is incredibly polite. Again these are crazy times. Just try and be patient. Everyone was super friendly.
I like going to the care station in West Orange. They have friendly attentive staff. Most times I dont have to wait long to be seen.
ZERO STARS!! This place does not respect their patients time and the front desk staff has nasty attitudes. I was in the waiting room almost 2 hours during my follow up appointment and the place was empty. My total time spent at Care Station was 2.5 hours for a 5 minute scheduled follow up visit with the doctor. Unacceptable on so many levels!!!
June 12,2024 I received the best care ever at a doctor office I felt like I was a celebrity my dr.Reema Aljamal was so compassionate she saw that I was in so much pain and gave what I needed u you really don’t see doctors with a lot of compassion now a days so I was very grateful for that and it didn’t stop with her. She had a nurse there saw how much pain I was in due to my back and hardly could walk she asked me if I would like her to wheelchair to my car and I so surprise when she asked me that because I didn’t even know they had wheelchairs in the office and I’m so upset I don’t know the nurse name but she wheeled me to my car door that nurse was a god sent so thank you Dr.Reema Aljamal and that very sweet nurse that was my best experience ever at a doctors office.
Went as a walk-in after a 3/4 cut from mishandling a blender blade on the bottom knuckle of my left index finger. Waited 2-1/2 hours before being seen. Dr. Only put two stitches when three or four should have been done. Came back 3 days later to check for infection, and waited over two hours again for a one minute visit. Returned a third time for stitches removal, and waited two hours past my appointment time once again. Easily my worst experience ever at any walk-in facility, and the young staff was borderline rude. I shall not return to this facility again, ever!
I would absolutely recommend this place. All the employees were incredibly hospitable and kind. They welcomed me and my father in and helped us with everything we needed. They treated my father with so much respect. He was hard of hearing and visually impaired at the time. Every person who treated him showed patience and understanding. Im so grateful to have taken him here for care.
West Orange staff are simply the best. Everyone was so friendly from the reception to the Doctor! I would literally live there if I could. Best experience ever! Thank you Faisal (probably spelt it wrong) and Caitlin (probably spelt that wrong too) and the Doctor and everyone I encountered!!
Very professional and Thorough. I was nervous for full physical. They just made it so relaxed and I was relieved they addressed all health aspects not just bare minimum.
The Care Station has great Doctors and Nurses, but the wait time even when very few people are in the waiting room is to long.
Had a 6:45pm appointment, signed in at 6:16pm but didnt get seen until 8:40pm. Only reason given was were very busy with a complete attitude. Additionally, while ignoring me after calling me then slamming the door in my face the two receptionist proceeded to laugh and play rolling from the front to back in their desk chairs like kids. Horrible experience
I was told I would have to wait for over an hour for a walk in - understandable and did. But then left in an exam room for over an hour. I’m pretty sure they forgot about me since when I asked the staff they seems surprised. Dr seemed pretty dismissive. I was there for a heart issue and he didn’t even ask my history. Gave me a prescription with the wrong date on it (Jan 8 instead of Feb 9) so pharmacy would not fill it. It was after 9:30 so could not get in touch with Dr. Took me hours to rectify that mistake starting at 8AM the following day. Many phone calls and even when I went back to get prescription had to wait a long time with same questions Seems like no communication
Sadly I cannot give Care station 5 stars as I did in the past. Things have changed! I imagine due to cost cutting measures. I came to urgent care and was seen by an APN nurse who had me waiting for two hours before I was seen. She seemed rushed was loath to make decisions in my medication and checked with Dr Green who also chose not to believe me re my meds and wouldn’t allow this nurse to prescribe what I needed. I just noticed that Dr Green had major issues with another patient . I needed to return to urgent care a few days later and was very fortunate to be seen by my primary care physician.. she was wonderful no long waiting, efficient and appropriate treatment . I guess there are now fewer MD’s at Care Station and that makes all the difference. Also at the age of 77 I do not appreciate the new system of signing myself in and now fewer manned reception desks which again are most likely a cost cutting measure. Hopefully things can be improved with patient feedback used to upgrade the problems we point out.
Very long waiting time and no one really tell you to check in at computer and also sign the list. They are also trying to charge me double for my copay by calling it something else even though my insurance already paid them. Will I return? Maybe not
The reps at the front desk were very helpful. Also the doctor was very knowledgeable and explained everything in full detail.
I had waited an hour to be called from the waiting room, which is understandable for a walk in, but then waited another hour in the room before I saw a doctor. I had believed I hit my thumb while cleaning the snow off my car and possibly had a fracture. I was not shown the x rays of my hand and was told I had frostbite by the provider. She was adamant that my injury was not a simple contusion or slight sprain and had not touched my hand at any point in the visit to assess me. I was very freaked out as she discussed gangrene and the potential need for a hospital visit. 2 days later I was seen by an orthopedic doctor and was told I had a minor contusion that would heal soon with the use of a splint and absolutely not frost bite. This caused me unnecessary emotional distress and I would not recommend this urgent care.
It’s hard to find a doctor like Dr Green. He has an amazing bedside manner, is very thorough and takes his time with his patients. Really happy to have found him at Care Station
Overall service and hospitality was great! Doctor was great! However, during my first and follow-up visits I experienced unwelcoming gestures and not so professional greetings by Front Desk/Registrar Ms. SAN JEAN. Her gesturing by waving her hand and saying,Go sit down was not professional and inappropriate. Her overall tone and approach with welcoming clients requires some improvement.
Always a great experience at the Care station no matter who you see 👍🏾
The Doctors, PAs and staff are always kind and helpful! My primary care physician, Dr. Aljamal, is very kind and caring.
This experience was great. Short wait time. I was able to see my primary care giver even though I came in as a walk in. New sign in kiosh was easy to use..
Front desk lady was unfriendly. Only received 3 stars because the doctor was nice.
Highly disappointed with this place. Had a 2:30pm appointment. Did not get called in till about 4pm. Only to be seated in a room for about another 40 minutes and nothing yet. Finally left location and WILL NEVER GO BACK!!
I did not stay for a long period of time. Doctor Lauren is very friendly, she listens to you and explains everything in detail.
The absolute worst. DO NOT USE AS PRIMARY CARE. I REPEAT DO NOT USE AS A PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN. They hold your life saving medication hostage if you do not see them monthly. I had to go to the emergency room for high blood pressure medication and the hospital put me in contact with a malpractice lawyer. Sarah at the front desk was very nasty. I called for 2 weeks for the med for them to tell me on the 16th day that I needed to be seen. It could gave been addressed on day 1 of me calling rather than 2 weeks later. Sarah knew nothing of my history, just something someone told her to do. Could not address my issue. When you call their 908 number you get a call center in INDIA who will not put you through. This is at any time of the day. Save yourself. Call your health insurance company and find a doctors office who cares not a corporation.
I went and waited 3 hours because there was only one doctor on staff at the time. I understand that I was a walk-in but only having one doctor is terrible.
My providers where great. Front desk staff were pleasant. A bit of a long wait but overall experience was fine
DO NOT GO HERE. While the doctor was nice I was given the wrong prescription. I called three times to get the correct one. They never returned my calls and 12 hrs. after the first call they told me they had sent a script in, but they were supposed to let me know and it was of course the wrong script. There is NO FOLLOWUP OR ANY INTEREST IN THE PATIENT. There are many other centers in the area. Try any other one. You cant do worse.
When I walked in just before 9am on a Wednesday there was only 1 doctor on staff (who was fine) but I spent a total over 3 hours there to just get swabbed for Covid/Strep and then my ear looked at which, as I might have guessed, was infected. I did get the Rx I was hoping for.
Everything is as usual, nothing change except that you do your own checked in and I like that because I don’t need to publish my private business so other parents can hear in the waiting room.
Ive been meaning 2 write this review. I went here because my doctor retired. I dont think I will stay. Sad because I like my doctor. The staff is horrible with the exception of a few people. The worse 1 is the 1 with the silver braids! She made me feel like I had something contagious! Very unprofessional!!! She needs 2 b fired! I was already uncomfortable because people have trouble finding my veins and I hate needles! And she was suppose b the better of the girl that I initially started with, and she was very nice and patient with me. People! If u dont have patience or like dealing with people dont take those kind of jobs!!!
Do NOT go here.Dr was pleasant but I felt my main concern wasn’t addressed and I felt rushed. Then he wrote me a prescription to which I was told was being sent to my pharmacy before I left by a very inattentive receptionist.I tried called 10x and finally reached their call center, not t actual clinic. They told me that would speak to the Dr to send it over to the pharmacy that night. Next day still nothing.I have a big event this week and was suffering from acute stabbing pain.I will go to another Dr and fight my insurance company not to pay them. Please save yourself the frustration
I am a new patient to Care Station Medical Group. My first visit was an amazing experience. I had a 8:30am appointment, everything went smoothly. Everyone I encountered was pleasant. I was there for about 2.5 hours because they did a full work up. My second visit was a little different and I was a bit upset. I’m giving a 4- star because of my first experience. There is much need for improvement especially with the afternoon staff- customer service training. The X-ray tech was very pleasant.
Extremely unprofessional staffing!I’m actually not really sure why they have staff there considering the computer station does all the work without the eye rolls and attitude.
Dr. Lorena Chuca is amazing always give you enough time, and make sure she dose the follow up.
Dr.Reema is extremely professional and to the point. Appointment was on time no waiting hours to be seen. Please keep it that way thanks
Dr. Aljamal and staff at the Care Station in West Orange are WONDERFUL! Everyone is very attentive and kind throughout the duration of your visit. Dr.Aljamal is exceptional! She listens to every word you say and treats you as if you are her family. She is very knowledgeable and has great bedside manor. Have brought various family members here because of her. Highly recommend!!!
I had a great experience at the Care Station in West Orange. Sade was such a lovely receptionist. She was kind, answered all my questions, and was patient with me! Chris the doctor was also extremely thorough and made me feel comfortable in his care.
Everyone was very nice except for the nurse practitioner that I seen. She was rude and very dismissive.
I was a little reluctant at first because the wait was so long BUT the Dr. I had was excellent. He was caring and compassionate, pleasant with a very good bedside manner. He really took care of my hand and made me feel at ease. My first time visit was great. Everyone in the back was very attentive. I will definitely visit again, if need be.👍
Wait with or without appointment is between 2-3 hrs. I think they handle urgent cases so if you are coming with a flu or fever only you will likely be of lower priority. So if go bring a book, water and a snack and plan on potentially taking half a day off. Otherwise they are good, doctors and nurses are really nice. Students on practice too.Update few yrs after: wait still super long and i was given some super expensive $326 (!!??) antiviral for suspected covid but without having a conclusive test back if i had covid. Was not tested for strep, and next day i went to other practice because my son was tested positive for strep and lo and behold i had strep too and needed antibiotic and not anti viral. Also antiviral that i got for suspected virus has a ton of side effects that dr never warned me about. I also never saw same doctor here twice for few years i was going here.Never going here again! The dr was Singh Manik, if i could i would sue him for Medical Malpractice. First misdiagnosing or rather failing to diagnose, and then giving me $326 medicine??!!! Who the heck has $326 laying around for an antiviral??!!
Avoid at all costs! Wait was long, Dr was friendly. they called in the wrong prescription. I called and the pharmacist called several times but they never fixed it. had to go see a different Dr to get the correct thing. Complete lack of professionalism and competency.
Waited 1.5 hours to be seen despite making an appointment. I tried to get an update from the front desk to no avail. Then I had to pop my head out from the exam room after waiting another 25 min for the nurse to come back after the doctor, and they said they forgot to come back in. Thought things would run smoother at an urgent care that takes appointments, but absolutely wrong and will not be going back.
I just discovered the Care Station and decided to give it a try . It was a great experience. I inputted all my information in and was seen in a sufficient time. I will definitely go again.
Need help with the computer input. The waiting need be better we are switching like a hour from your appointment.
My initial encounter with front desk, could of been more of a professional greeting experience. They appeared to be overwhelmed, and tired. No initial greeting; while waiting approximately 6 mins, I was then asked”Did you sign in?” My response, No… where? While my experience with the nurse attendant was warm and caring. She was patient and provided a sense of comfort. The doctor was on point, professional, detailed in her assessment of my health care. I will be definitely following up with them for my next appointment.
I was impressed with my experience at the Care Center. After coming in with so much pain. I believe my experience went very well.It was my first time there as a patient. I was out within an hour. The social distancing was well maintained and the office was very clean.Everyone that I came in contact with, was very polite and professional. The receptionist, the nurse and I just really like the doctor. She seemed concerned and she was very thorough. I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you all for your kind and professional service.
Ive always been very happy with the medical staff there, who seem well trained, professional, and pleasant. BUT the wait time to be seen, with a long established appointment, gets longer and longer and longer. They seem to allow walk-ins at the expense of patients with appointments, though that might not actually be true. Last night I waited to be seen two hours past my scheduled time. I had to drive home in darkness, heavy rain and fog along harrowing roads. That wouldnt have been necessary had I been seen on time and might have tipped the scale for me away from the CARE Station.
Was able to make a same day appointment when I had a sinus infection & my primary care doctor couldn’t see me until next week. I appreciate that this place exists and I could see a doctor and get treatment immediately. After 1 day I already feel a lot better. Check in was easy and the woman was friendly. Nurse & Doctor were great and thorough. Will definitely go back there again
If I could give this facility no stars I would. I initially had somewhat good experiences until recently. I could not get anyone to return my call in regards to a prescription refill. I was 3 weeks without an important medication and it simply didnt matter to them. Only after threatening to call the State Dept of Health I miraculously received a call. Still didnt get my prescription but was told I needed an office visit. Waited an hour, had my blood pressure taken, saw the Dr for 5 min and that was it. All for a thyroid prescription. They just want billable office visits. Stay away!
Constantly left in the waiting room for over an hour before you are called in. Front desk can be rude, but I must say not all of them. It feels like ordering fast food and the person at the register is giving you an attitude.Usually once you are called in it takes another 40-50 minutes to be seen by a doctor. The doctors are great once you get to see one. The business management is the worse. To many appointments in not enough time. Only reasons I still come here is because my doctor is the best.
I have been a patient here before. I called today to see if I could come in and be evaluated for a return to work letter for a workers comp case I was originally evaluated for at a facility two hours away. They said yes, and then I came in and the receptionist told me “they give misinformation on the phone.”Who is “they?” This is your office.I asked where I could go, and the receptionist didn’t have any ideas for me.You either don’t want to spend the 10 minutes to help me figure this out & get seen, or your call center wasted my time.
As much as I appreciate my doctors expertise and professionalism, they/he is consistently late by at least 1 hour and up to 100 minutes. I even came at the first appointment at 8:00am and proceeded to wait until 9am for his arrival. For those of us who are busy and have places to be, this kind of consistent tardiness just doesnt work in my opinion, and therefor will have to find another physician. My procedure takes all of 5 minutes to do, so some re-prioritization should be happening. Furthermore, i had to leave during one appointment after having waited about 45 min, I asked how much longer and the response was about an hour...I simply had to leave. The good news is that this place is across from Total Eine, so thats its saving grace.
My experience there was a very positive one. I have been going to the Care Station for over 30 years now. And this past Sunday, February 20 I went there for a stress test and the lady who took my readings was awesome. I never got her name or I can’t remember her name but she was incredibly great and make things so easy for me. Highly recommend her. And let give Dr Fontechi a humongous shout out. The best doctor I’ve ever been with. He absolutely and brutally honest. And love that. He simplifies and brakes down everything going with me. And love how I can understand his layman terms medically. Great great physician.
Stanley make my appointment easy and he is friendly
The front desk staff was ok. I’m sure they were stressed from how busy it was. I felt like if I was nasty, they’d be nastier. I tried to be cordial and not take the tones of their voices personal. I had 1:30 appointment and wasn’t seen until 4PM. I’ve waited at the doctor’s office before, but never like this; it was like waiting at the emergency room. When they finally took me to the back, it was glorious. If give a 5 star rating just for the back staff as they were all pleasant. Long wait and stressed out front office balanced out my rating. Would still go because all the HCPs I’ve ever seen there or took care of my family have been beyond stellar! Hopefully in time front desk gets better all things considered.
My experience was a good one everyone was very nice and efficient
Had a great experience on the day of my visit for a possible foot fracture, the nurse, X-ray technician and doctor were great but then it turned terrible. Whoever picks up the calls that come in is just awful! She was very dismissive. Left multiple messages stating the pain medication given was not helping and that I had been screaming in pain the entire day and not one call back. On top of that was hung up on TWICE when I asked to speak to a supervisor. My husband also called multiple times and nothing. I had to seek medical care elsewhere for the excruciating pain. Next time I will head to the hospital, it’s not worth the aggravation and disappointment.
This place was excellent and the receptionist were great. The Doctor was good but the only thing I did not like was my covid med was not filled by my pharmacy and to get them to change pharmacy was difficult. I spoke to several persons and got several answers. They said that they will have the Dr sign off on the prescription, that never happened. I spoke to a person by the name of Von and his supervisor Tonya. They were both incompetent and should not have been in that position to help sick people.
I’m giving 3 stars because the dr I seen was very helpful and he stitched my finger up very well. However, the staff is questionable when I was there Monday 9/18 to get stitches around 8 my friend drove me and was waiting in the waiting room…the front desk staff left at 850.. turned the tv off and just left her sitting in the waiting room. The doctor was literally the only employee left and he had no idea until he walked me out. He had one of the front desk staff call me 9/20 to make a follow up apt. We made the apt for 9/23 at 745 pm… she said it to me twice I said it back once to confirm. I just called to see if I can come at 6pm instead of 745 and I was told my apt was moved to 10/4…. Why would you move my appointment and not notify me 1 & 2 why would you schedule me for 10/4 when he specifically told you he wanted to see me Thursday OR Friday 9/22 or 9/23 for a follow up? Cmon..
I came to this urgent care last week with severeback pain. I was feeling overwhelmed, scared and weak and all I wanted was answers to why my body was feeling this way. Well I didnt get the answers here bc the front desk worker asked me when I started feeling pain and i was truthful with her and I replied with i started to feel the pain at work and she took this as I was injured at work, she informed me my insurance wouldnt be able accepted and that this is a workers comp situation. Well turns out I actually had a kidney infection which had nothing to do with work. So thanks to her assuming instead of listening to what I said I had to go somewhere else to discover this. I will never step foot here again, I felt like a check instead of a patient. Im glad I was able to find help elsewhere, do not come here, I suggest a refresher course on listening to patients key words.
I’ve been visiting Care Station for nearly 10 years and it has been a great experience for me. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable but the only issue I have sometimes is the wait time especially after you register and is called in to see the doctor. I spent nearly 45 minutes waiting for the doctor to come into the room during my last visit. I’m kind of used to it now so it didn’t bother me that much. Overall, I would recommend this facility as it is a great place and it offers a wide variety of services to its patients.
This place is HORRIBLE. I was advised to make an appointment for Covid testing. I was told by making an appointment, my wait time would be between two to three hours. My wait time was a total of 6 1/2 hours – for some reason, someone kept erasing my name. After waiting in my car for nearly four hours, the remainder of my wait time was spent sitting in the waiting room and listening to a receptionist talk negatively about patients.I was also told that I would be receiving a link to a Patient Portal and to be sure to set it up within 24 hours. It was my understanding that I would receive my results through this portal. I have been unsuccessfully calling for 5 straight days to let someone know I never received the link. After waiting on the phone for 10 to 15 minutes, someone would take the call and hang up. It has been over a week and I still do not have my results. How does this place remain in business is beyond me – I have never experienced a medical practice that operated in this manner.NEVER AGAIN…..
(updated) Originally I shelled out 5 stars, but Ive got to retract this. The doctor (Ernest Fontecha) I met with there was absolutely the best doctor Ive ever visited in my life. Really took the time to make me feel like a person, and that he cared about my well-being.The practice is by far the worst practice Ive ever dealt with. Youre going to wait A LOT so bring a couple books. So many insane experiences each time my husband/I have visited there, like an alarm preventing entry for about 45m, two patients getting in a verbal altercation with the police almost being called, not having the appointment being registered properly (even though text reminders were sent?). Its really the absolute worst. And thats not even getting to trying to deal with the billing department. They are a whole hot mess of their own.--- (original review) ---Be ready for a bit of a wait, but worth it.
Again, great service.Accommodating even when I was late.Drastically different from the receptionist ignorance of South Orange medical group.Care station allows you to send a copy of your benefits card and they go the extra mile to call up and ascertain 3rd party affiliations and eligibility. They found my information, and I didnt feel so humiliated. They were patient with warm personalities. Please go here. They are the best in town‼️
Everyone was nice , doctor and front desk people except for a girl in the back that is sitting at a desk right when you enter she gave me the nasty attitude , doctor told me to sit and wait for her to stamp my papers and she told me to sit there and wait to be called for my papers , which i did , 20 minutes passed and than the girl at that desk asked a nurse why im sitting there and she than handed me an envelope and said oh i dont know why you seating there , hello its her job to call my name and hand me my papers instead she gave me attitude and nasty gestures… that is not the way to treat patients paying out of pocket 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 as i walked out i made sure to let a nurse know how she treated me and to let their manager know 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Overall, my experience was great, which is why I use the Care Station. The reception nurse was kind and attentive, though incredibly busy with multiple tasks on her plate. My nurse, Elyse, was courteous, efficient, helpful in every way. Dr. Akunnah was professional, caring, and knowledgeable. The nurse who arranged my next appointment, was her usual friendly, effective and fast.I do offer this suggestion to the leadership. Because you accommodate walk-ins and various types of appointments, I suggest you require patients to call when they arrive and wait in their cars until ready to be seen. The Waiting room was over capacity when I was there last Friday, which isn’t acceptable.Thank you for considering my suggestion.
Great facility, excellent service by staff and Doctors
Friendly staff. Fast Covid results. Great, young, progressive Doctors. It’s not like a regular urgent care, it’s primary care too. Great Medical assistants, they’re in there working very hard. Detailed care from start to finish. Patient portal is very convenient. I’ve had less of a wait going later in the day… Can get busy. I’ve waited long once or twice but usually wait time is 15-20 mins or so.
Was treated by Dr. John Green. He was thorough, caring, informative, friendly and had a wonderful bedside demeanor. I understand he is usually in the Linden office; so, it seems they are quite lucky to have him there. Very pleased with my visit. It was worth the bit of a wait.
WOW!! The new facility is a true upgrade its so big inside, they even have huge TVs to watch. The staff were very pleasant, I wasnt in and out; However, as a walk in I felt the wait time was acceptable compared to the ER . All Staff introduced themselves to me and the doctor answered all my questions which made me feel very comfortable. She was so nice that since I didnt have a primary doctor I chose her. After my visit I was asked How was my experience? I told them great I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Staff wasnt very friendly seemed as if I was bothering them to do there job
My first time going and I must say that the receptionist Ms. Shanna-Lee Salmon was very professional, patient, and attentive. Dr. Aljamal was very nice and pleasant. I felt very comfortable and would highly recommend my family and friends to the West Orange location! Also, the environment is very clean!!Al
I went to the West Orange location for a Covid test on a Saturday (expecting to wait awhile) with my mom and sister. Waited 3 hrs for all of us to be seen. Was told we would have the results in 24-72 hrs and was giving options of contact with results (I marked cellphone and email) and was even given direction to use the patient portal.Monday rolls around and my mom and sister have results (negative thank you)... but I do not. One attempt from facility to call my cellphone which I missed the call - but no voicemail left - which they had permission to do, no email and no information on the patient portal. Called later that day and I was in a hold queue of 17 other callers. I tried emailing them that night to no response (to this date). Tried the next day and it was a hold of 20 people. When I finally had the time I sat through a hold of 12 people and 40 minutes later got someone on the phone. When I told her the reason for my call the girl on the other end honestly sounded as if I were bothering her and she absolutely hated her job. Turns out I was also negative... but in a situation like this where people’s lives are held up until these results come in....I would think that they would be more accessible to get this information to the patient.
I give this place two stars mainly because the facility was nicely furnished and well maintained, and the staff was overall friendly. But the wait times for a simple pre-employment drug screening, were just a little too excessive. I walked in at 3:30 pm and was leaving the office at 5:42 pm. There appeared to be several staff members available, but I waited over an hour to be called in and another 40-50 minutes for the doctor to walk in to the room to clear me after my exams were completed, successfully.
As usual, it was a wonderful experience..... as wonderful as a trip to the Doctor’s office can be anyway . I was seen by Dr Cecilio who immediately put me at ease with her professionalism and kind manner. Within a few short moments my issue was diagnosed and treatment quickly ensued. Dr. Cecilio was extremely thorough and it was evident that she had a tremendous amount of experience.Since my last visit, I have referred many a friend and colleague to the West Orange Care Station and in particular, Dr. Cecilio. I assured them all that they were in capable hands and that an unpleasant experience would be much more palatable because of the extraordinary service they will ultimately receive by Dr. Cecilio and the rest of the amazing staff at the Care Station in West Orange
I usually don’t leave reviews unless they’re positive. However, the hispanic woman at the front desk was EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. I simply made a statement regarding my confusion with multiple signs that said masks were “recommended” on the front entry door and inside the facility. One sign stated masks were required. She rudely stated that no one else has been confused. Very condescending. Their staff should educate their customers on current policies/practices rather than belittling. I will not be returning to this facility due to poor customer service.
I went in for an out of the blue issue that caused me really intense pain. I showed up right at the end of their open hours without an ID and they still helped me fill out the paperwork while a friend went to pick it up. The doctors and nurses were very friendly and helped me understand what the problem was and the steps that needed to be taken. I was treated the very next day and felt a lot better. The staff is very professional. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is because I had two different doctors throughout my three appointments. That alone is fine but the doctors seemed to have different views on next steps during the healing process and how is should treat my injury. This left me a little unsettled about what I should do and who I should be listening to.I would definitely recommend and return. I would just like to see a little bit more unity/coordination on the doctors part if they need to pass off a patient in the future.
The staff was courteous and professional and made the visit run smoothly. Everything was handled professionally from my initial telephone call until I was walking out. The wait time was very minimal and the doctor was very efficient with my exam and I received my test results earlier than projected.
I went in recently for a TB skin test. Which takes 2 seconds. I was told I didn’t need an appointment. Since they know. It’s just look and leave. However, the receptionist clearly did not communicate my being there (I was the only person in the office) and I waited an hour before a nurse who called back several other walk ins noticed I was waiting. And was distraught that I had been through this ordeal. The nursing and doctors are fine. The reception area and communication needs a LOT of work.
The staff is clearly working hard, but still find time to be attentive, compassionate and thorough from the waiting room to the exam room. Dr. Fontecha is amazing, he explains things clearly, listens and does not rush you out even when it is clear he has many patients. Nova and Imani were also very personable and dive to my family and I. There will be longer wait times due to the times we are in. I poked my head out a couple times to remind them we were there, but be patient, and the team will give you there full attention.
Horrible experience. The staff needs customer service training. It was a waste of my time. After an hour I left. Will never go there again. Service was much better before approximately 5 years ago.
Fantastic office and staff. Wait time was minimal, front desk was very helpful and my doctor Dr Aljamal is exceptionally knowledgeable!
I have been using the West Orange Care Station for the past 4 years. When I have an appointment, I am seen within 5 minutes. When I need urgent care the wait time has always been minimal. I had my annual physical this week and Dr Green provided a detailed reviewed of my tests, answering all my questions to my satisfaction. The office staff is friendly and professional. I will continue to use this facility for all my medical needs.
The level of incompetence at this place is outstanding! My wife was told she would be given medication and the order was not even in the notes for the the appointment after waiting 2 and half hour to see a doctor/pa basically nothing was done for her. When she called back after being on hold for an additional hour she wasn’t told that her script for meds was going to be sent out by the end of the work day but there was never a script ordered. Personally I would avoid this place and take your business elsewhere.
I had an 11 oclock appointment on Thursday 30th June at the Care Station in West Orange. I signed in at 10:46...took a seat away from the TV and closed my eyes...I waited and waited and waited...now its 11 oclock. Went to the desk only to find out no one looked at the sign in sheet...there was 2 people 1 male and 1 female...the lady got up I said I signed in at 10 46 she looks at the sheet and asked my name when my name was clearly showing....I eventually got to see my doctor at 11 45...I am not angry.. what if it was someone else who got angry...in this time and season...this is unethical, unacceptable I pray it never happens ever again to me or anyone else...thank you...just for that behavior I will give it a 1...normally it would be 5...
The staff was great & the wait was not long for a walk in appointment. The only issue I have is my COVID test results are not available after more then 48 hrs. Other than that, they are definitely a place I would revisit if I didnt have a primary physician.
I can understand long wait times but being told I should have been called already and only being noticed until I complain 3 hours later to be moved to another waiting hallway when my room is ready. I understand being a walk in means longer wait times but this is just insane. Having other walk ins enter and leave before me. Get your act together please... work required a blood test and regret coming to this location
These guys are stealing. I pay my co-pay before I see a physician. You can’t go to the back without paying. Then they called me months later and said I didn’t pay. When I asked for the supervisor and told them someone must be stealing the money they hung up. Contacting my insurance company to report them.
Nurse Sherrie is absolutely AMAZING! She’s kind, professional and very caring. I’m extremely grateful for my experience with her!
It was one of the worst experiences I ever had. I told them I was coming 4 pre-op clearance and they didnt bother getting my test results. I had an appointment but they added walking between the appointments causing me to wait 2 and 1/2 hours to get in. When I did get into the exam room a doctor walked in with his mask on to his nose. This is someone who treats covid patients. This place is a disaster!
I went to this care station on December 28, 2022 for a headache and stuffy nose. I was tested for COVID. I called the next day for my test results, and the incompetent receptionist told me that she could not give me the test results and that I had to look at my own test results on the portal. She didn’t ask a nurse or a doctor if they could give me my test results. I looked on the portal, and there was one test, which stated that I was negative for COVID. Therefore, I went to work. My 70 year old mother came to visit me. I went to a friends house and ate lunch, and I went to Accupuncture. I also went to the gym on Friday. I was tested on Wednesday. While I was at the gym on Friday, someone from the care station called to tell me that I was positive for COVID. When I told her that I saw a negative result in the portal, she stated that I must have seen the antigen test and not the PCR test. All of this occurred because some incompetent receptionist refused to transfer me to a nurse and because this care station thinks it is appropriate to have patients read their own test results. Who knows how many people I infected because of their unacceptable practices. I do not recommend that you go to this care station. If they make mistakes like this, then they make other careless mistakes. They are probably responsible for people unnecessarily spreading COVID.
Nice, clean and quiet. The staff here is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Im glad I found them.
After My Mother was injured by a patient at work, her Employer Authorized a care station visit for treatment. The Staff here are devoid of any enthusiasm or customer centricity. We were told to sign in and have a seat - with no clear Explanation on where or how to - nor was the distinction between patient appointments and walk-Ins provided. After misplacing the faxed authorization form sent by my moms employer, they cavalierly explained that the document was never sent, thus the 1hr we spent waiting was wasted. We waited another 1.5 hrs after the attendant checked us in... basically they give priority to their patients with appointments. I STRONGLY encourage you to go elsewhere for quality attention and care. I will leave 0 starts if I could !
It’s really ashame that this location lacks proper scheduling/ time management skills because I truly did encounter helpful clinicians once I was eventually seen. Unfortunately I can not excuse the fact that I scheduled an appointment arrived on time and my appointment was not seen by the schedule doctor instead she moved my appointment to a doctor coming on shift 2 hours later. Then the front house staff tries to blame their lack of professionalism on me. They need an office manager. No one is running the office for them, there is neither structure nor order. I can not with a clear conscious recommend this facility.
Waiting times are extremely long regardless of day and time. Doctors are always late. Even even you’re the first patient. They try to get you to sign documents for services that they Can send you that where to obtain. For instance my in network imaging costs are free. They are out of network. They bring me a form to sign, when I ask for the charges , their response was. W we are not sure. I know 1000000% they know my benefits and they are aware of their contractual obligations with what they agree to be paid by the insurance company. How do you say you are unaware? Most of the girls are polite and can not control the situations either in front the back or vise-a-versa, but the doctors and the facility can. I will be complaining the AG about today’s visit. With time and photos. Oh and I forgot. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that there is no manager on staff. She just left the day and she has no relief. Send a little outrageous but that’s their story and their all sticking to it.
Very nice, new facility. I was in and out in about an hour (smashed my hand in a garage door). Everyone from the medical assistant to the x-ray technician to the doctor was very nice and friendly. They explained to me everything they were doing. The equipment is very modern, the facility is clean and I was very happy with the care I received. Im actually surprised by the number of negative reviews here, but it looks like a lot of them were before the new facility opened.
Great front desk, great service. I went to S. orange Ave medical center and the front desk lady was unprofessional and did a horrible job looking up my benefits info when I presented the mobile ID as I didnt have the physical benefits card.I came to Care station 30mins late, the young lady at the desk was still so nice enough to squeeze me into a busy schedule and found my info when I presented her with my same mobile benefits card. I thought my wait would be over an hour since I was late, but they got to me within 20mins.Please go here! Great service.
Went in to get a TB test that i needed for school, i was told that it was an 45 min to hour wait and I waited in my car where they told me they would call me when I was ready. After an hour and 15mins I came in to check to see if I would be called up soon and they said I never picked up the phone so I lost my spot in line. They never called me and the front receptionist then told me that they (the people who were supposed to call me) lied when I didn’t pick up the phone. I had to wait 3 hours in an empty waiting room to get a test that took 30 seconds. They did nothing to fix their mistake until I went up for the 5th time saying that this is not my fault and I need to be taken now. I have been here multiple times before with no problem but this really upset me. They should have immediately fixed the issue instead of making me sit there for 3 hours.
Do NOT go. Been there 3 times and each time I thought This is really bad service. but gave them a pass because of Covid and I know theyve been working hard. I can no longer give them a pass though. The front desk people are dismissive and rude. The sign in system is always mislabeled so you have to ask which clipboard to sign and then YOU get attitude. I get that patients dont want to be there, but the people at the front desk want to be there even less! For the amount of money health insurance, copays, paying out of pocket etc is.. go to a different place that has better service and pleasant people to put your mind at ease. You work hard for your money, spend it elsewhere. Going to a Doctor can be stressful in general, why have the front desk add to that?I will say, once you get to visit the Doctor, he/she is very good. None of this is a reflection on the Doctor. Its just a shame they practice there.
Terrible place. Wait time for covid testing is 4 hours, what’s worse is you have to be on site for that. You can wait in your car but common, it’s winter, you need to keep the car on for some time. Imagine that many cars running in the parking lot. Sorry mother nature. I had to leave to get gas but they called while I was pumping gas. I tried to drive back as fast as I could, but they skipped me and asked me to wait in the lobby. I waited for an hour and nobody called. Checked in with the nurse and she just said she didn’t know why they didn’t call me and not sure how much longer I had to wait. I was annoyed and ended up canceling the appointment right on the spot. No apologies from them whatsoever. NEVER GO BACK
This place is good for convenient hours if you are someone that is often caught up with work but when it comes to serious medical situations, try to avoid this place if you can. I went there over month ago cause I told them that I was experiencing chest pains randomly. They did an EKG and scheduled a stress test and ultra sound. I was told when I did the ultra sound that the results may take up to a week to get back. I have been following up and today is 3 weeks since I took the test and I am still being told that the results have not come back. The doctors seem to care primarily about payment and charging your insurance for services rather than care for your well being. I would warn people to not go to this office unless you have to for something that is not urgent or life threatening as there is no sense of urgency and they don’t seem to care.
I had to wait over an hour and 40 minutes to get a recheck which took less than 15 minutes.
I visited for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. I didnt have an appointment so I had to wait, but I was glad they took me. The PA on duty and the nurses were wonderful, personable, and thorough. Im grateful that such a facility exists. I have no complaints with the quality of care I received.
Dr. Akunna and Ms. Zajac did a great job helping me with a cut on my leg which occurred when my car door hit it. The facilities were clean and staff observed all safety protocals. All of the staff I encountered were courteous, efficient, and professional. There was minimal waiting time. I probably was lucky to show up when there were few patients there. I had been to this office about a year and a half ago, so my information was on file. I definitely would recommend this medical office. Thanks, Care Station!!
When I first came to the office, I had a problem with a physician not returning my calls. I called the Linden office, and received a call, albeit a very remote conversation. i later needed a quick clearance and went to the site again. I met this Dr. who appeared to be very much on point and was looking to build his clientele. He was very thorough the first few times I visited him.Well, fast-forward three months, this doctor. is so busy that you now have to wait for more than an hour. He is no longer as thorough and the office changes staff like you change a babies diaper. They are so disorganized and unprofessional.Im disappointed.
I had a great experience here! The wait was a bit long, but I was a walk-in on a Friday before Labor Day weekend. The staff was friendly & the doctor was kind, very helpful, & knowledgeable.
This was a Terrible Disappointing experience 😡. My appointment time was scheduled for 9 A.M .... I saw the doctor well after 10AM!!!!!! I am going to stop going to this location because its not a good place. To many uncaring doctors and nurses. Not a comfortable environment at. Television blasting like your in a disco. I left the office feeling worst than when I arrived. Questions werent answered. Staff was not friendly. Environment didnt smell sanitized. If I could rate this place a zero ...I would have!
Lack of coordination and communication between the person answering the phone and the on-site staff. The wait time for walk-ins, although the phone representative said there were plenty of slots, was over 2 hours. Staff didn’t seem overly concerned, and basically had a nonchalant attitude of “take it or leave it...we are busy”.Of course I stuck it out after I reached the initial 1.5 hours of wait time.Make sure you go with an appointment, or don’t waste your time at this particular site.Once seen, the medical staff, nurse and PA were stellar!
This facility is extremely unprofessional and inefficient starting from the receptionist to the physician. A simple COVID test took over 1 hour and 30 minutes after being told I was the next patient. Because the receptionist lied and the Dr. decided to go on lunch instead of talking 1 minutes to explain when the results will be in. I requested not to process the test in order to go somewhere else since the result comes back 7-10 days (WHILE EVERY OTHER FACILITY TAKES 2-4 DAYS). I will be contacting my insurance company tomorrow to make sure they do not get reimbursed for the visit.
Medical care is fine but THIS IS NOT AN URGENT CARE FACILITY!!! Check with your insurance before going here! They will bill your insurance for PRIMARY CARE only, as I learned the hard way. On 12/26/22 I went here after tripping on a sidewalk and needing stitches in my forehead. Insurance nightmare ensued.
I am always shown dignity and respect whenever I have an appointment. If I have any missteps I am not humiliated by my specialist or anyone on her staff. I really appreciate all that they have done to help me get my medical life almost back to normal. Thank you everyone. Everyone there have done their duties accurately and timely with me.
I am so glad I chose you. Had to see someone today as was going out of town next day for 2 day event. Developed an earache and knew it needed attention. I was seen promptly and was given medication and was home in an hour and a half. Staff was knowledgeable and professional and kind. Was able to get to my event on the mend. Thank you so much
I was not allowed to make an appointment over the phone do i walked into WEST ORANGE at 3:45pm. People came in after me snd HAD appointments. And were seen immediately. I asked why I wasn’t able to make an appointment and was told by the receptionist that a command center does the scheduling and she had no idea. I then waited about an hour and a half and the test was taken and my results were read to me within 20 minutes bye very fine employees and positions so the only complaint I have is that I was not allowedTo make an appointment that would’ve let me get out sooner.
I inadvertently cut my finger and required stitches. I went to the Care Station Medical Group about 8pm and they close at 9pm on 8/4/2022. The staff were friendly, professional, and technically competent. I struggle with how many stars to give because technically the care was good enough, the mechanics of the care was good. As an ABD Doctorate Student at Drew University in the Medical and Health Humanities program, I know there is more to care than just the mechanics of performing/providing medical care to others. Not to mention, I have worked in Healthcare for the past 18 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. A MSSW Graduate from Columbia University. Anyone who knows me, knows that I do not mention that at all, so for me to mention it here is such a public space should speak volumes!Dr. Maria Baig, asked me several times as an African American woman of a certain age, dont hit me or punch me in the face. She stated this to me so many times that I had to ask her, if she was ever hit or assaulted by a patient before. She stated no. So then I asked, why do you think I would hit you when you are repairing my finger? She stated I dont know, I wish most people thought like this. But I repeat, she stated that she has not ever been hit or assaulted by a patient before. Then as she injected the lidocaine several times, as part of the procedure and it hurt, I was asked not to grimace, yell or cuss. Yes I do cuss. Just breathe through it she said repeatedly, not in a consoling way but in a manner of not wanting to hear my discomfort. Or she was annoyed with the way I displayed my pain. So as the patient, I realized that she did not feel comfortable in the setting of West Orange, NJ or working with the diverse population of this community. So I then had to not be the patient and had to be the Social Worker and engage her in discussion in order for her to see me more than a Black Woman. Lets step back, as a professional working in the medical field, I inquired about when she was going to change the gloves that she walked in the room wearing, after that, she informed me of every time she changed the gauze and sanitized my hand to begin the procedure of numbing and manually stitching my right index finger. After explaining to her my credentials, I could feel her energy and attitude towards me switch. Again Dr. Maria Baig, did a good job mechanically stitching up my wound on my finger but caused an larger wound in my spirit with her bias bedside manner. I will not be returning for follow up as recommended.Soon to be Dr. Hughley
I have had the misfortune of needing to go to Care Station 3 times in a month. Each time, the wait has been OVER 2 hours. Absolutely absurd. Patients are asked to stay in their cars if they’re symptomatic, and told they’ll be called. I have never been called. I sat and watched patients walk in and out of the building checking for their names. I will never return.
While there is always a long wait, the nurses are always welcoming, knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable. The doctors also show you the utmost care even though they are not your normal doctor and are normally seeing you for the first time.
My husband and I went for COVID test on Thursday afternoon . We were promised results in 24-72 hours. I have yet to see my results posted on the portal . My husband finally got his today 5 days after the test. They claim they have a rapid test .. same day.. Their service is terrible and we would not recommend them for a time sensitive test which we needed before traveling.
West Orange care Station Team are nice . Special.one Black lady in the front with a short one . Everyone was so friendly from the reception to the Doctor! but only one Problem with the Physical, my wife did one they told her she had covid in the past that’s a lie She works as a CNA 2 times a week she had a covid test always negativeI did one too Same StoryI texted negative every week
Very disappointing. I have been going to this place for years and had been satisfied. Usually prompt service, in and out within 30-40 minutes. However since their renovation/ expansion the service has been horrible. I went there on Monday and waited an hour to be called. Once I was placed in a room, I waited and sat there like a fool for over an 1/2 hour without seeing the Doctor. I walked out in disgust. My neighbors have had similar experiences. I am done with this place unfortunately.
I was feeling under the weather so I made an appointment to see a doctor at the care station. I was able to get a same day appointment and I didn’t have a long wait once I got there. The facility is very clean and the staff were all friendly. I would definitely recommend this facility
They are terrible! Ive been going here for years because of their late hours. I havent taken the time to search for a new doctor. My experience on June 24th solidified my departure from them. I had a prescription sent to a Walgreens I didnt want to go to because their system didnt show its existence ( even though my wife went to a different doctor the week before and had a prescription sent to the Walgreens I wanted. The doctor that wrote the script wasnt authorized to write scripts for that particular office. Easy fix, right? WRONG! The pharmacy called twice and couldnt get hold of anyone. I called and spoke to someone ( my mistake for not taking note of her name) She preceded to tell me the procedure the pharmacy should have followed. I politely cut her off and said with a laugh, I just need to get my prescription, can you please call my pharmacy and let them know what they need to do because they cant get through. She replied with an attitude, Yes sir. I said Thank you. 30 minutes later no call was received by the pharmacy. I called back and got a rep named Ashley, yes I got a name this time😂. She tried to tell me what the pharmacy should do as well. I said miss Ive been here for over 30 minutes waiting to get someone to fix this, I just need it done. Ashley put me on hold and 30 seconds later my pharmacist said it was changed. The pharmacist then took about 1 minute and put my medicine together. Walgreens youre AWESOME!CARESTATION you suck and I will be having all my medical records moved to my wifes doctor before the end of July. The incompetence and lack of patient care has forced me to leave. SORRY NOT SORRY!
Very efficient and friendly staff. So disappointed w Cedar Grove CVS , especially since there was a prior appointment which was cancelled. We walked into Carestation and were seen within and 1/2 hr. Got our results rapidly. Should have gone there in the first place.
It was terrible! My mother waited an hour to be seen then another 15 minutes to get an x-ray on my ankle. When the doctor came in to provide a diagnosis of what was wrong with my mom’s ankle, it was obvious that he did not review the x-ray thoroughly because he fumbled through explaining what was wrong. Then I said please provide a strong ibruprofen to relieve my mom’s pain because it is so bad, he sent 200 mg to rite aid — my mom’s insurance refused to pay. What the hell is 200 mg going to do to ease the pain of a 77 year old woman? I was expecting 600 mg at least. My mom spent two hours there for nothing. Please staff better doctors. Thanks
Upon arriving I called and explained what I needed and the price because I dont have insurance. The young lady at the front desk, reassured me that Ill do the test and be out in 15minute. I made a payment of $100 for the mentioned test, finally being called an hour after they made me see the Dr and did several other test. I explained to them that I did not come to see any Doctor, and Im not interested in any other test. Unorganized and things are not communicated throughout the staff. Totally disappointed in the service I experienced. Then one of the staff member mentioned that Ill receive a bill in the mail😡
When I sliced my finger tip to the point where it wouldnt stop bleeding, and needing stitches, you would think from a triage standpoint, you would give that kind of case a higher priority than those with less acute issues. For well over an hour, I had to keep pressure on my own cut with paper towels.Even after being brought back into a treatment room, the waiting continued. Granted, the doctor came quickly to confirm my suspicion of needing stitches. After being given local anesthesia, I had to wait another 30 min before she came back to put the stitches in. Each one felt brutally painful as the effectiveness of the anesthesia wore off. While the diagnosis and treatment were good, the wait time was unnecessarily long.
I am rating my experience at Care Station in West Orange, NJ one star and, really, its only because I have to give it a star. I had an absolutely terrible experience here.I arrived at 8:15 am for my 8:30 am appointment. I was called in at 8:50 am to see the doctor, Dr. Jessica Akunna -- all good so far. I then waited for 40 minutes in that room. Dr. Akunna then came in and asked if I completed an ultrasound that I was asked to do. I told her I had, in fact, and it was over a week and a half ago. She asked where I went. To be honest, I did not remember and was surprised by the question since the location I went to was one of their locations that THEY scheduled the appointment for. (An appointment that was originally for West Orange but, at last minute on the day of the ultrasound, was changed to their Linden location, real classy.)Dr. Akunna then left the room for about 5-10 minutes at which point another person walks in and starts grilling me on where I got the ultrasound. After some searching, I find the location and give it to her. She then comes in 5 minutes later and clearly forgot that I had told her already. She then leaves.10 minutes later, Dr. Akunna comes back in and says they cannot find the results from the ultrasound. I asked why and she says I guess the radiologist hasnt reviewed them? complete with eye rolls and sneering. I asked how that is possible if our first appointment was two weeks ago and the ultrasound was done a week and a half ago. I tell the doctor to not worry about it since I had a CAT scan done a week ago and I would be following up with a specialist. Dr. Akunna then went back to her tried and true strategy of rolling her eyes and sneering and asked in a condescending way why wouldnt you tell me that sooner? that makes no sense! I asked Dr. Akunna for the results of the other exams and stormed out. Not before she asked if I wanted to discuss anything else. I did not. My experience was trash.Lessons learned:- They have no shared systems and/or really bad ones- Theres little sharing of information between sites- Their in-the-room wait time is absurd- Dr. Akunna has piss poor bedside mannersUPDATE (08/12/20): Care Station Medical Group replied to this review and said they would look into it and would reach back out in 4-5 days. That was two weeks ago and they never reached out. What a surprise! Their main offices and customer support arm are just as poorly run as their medical practice itself.
I came here as a walk in for the first time thinking that as an urgent care delivering a rapid test for covid I would be in and out. Instead they kept me for 90 minutes. Huge waste of time if you need to get tested for covid, you’re better off going to a CVS or literally anywhere else. Also the tv in the waiting room plays tv shows from the 70s, felt like an absolute fever dream. The worst part too is that they made me wait in a closed room for my results to come in. I’ve been put in solitary confinement just so I can get my test results and be good to go for a flight.
ADDED UNNECESSARY SERVICES AND CHARGED ME FOR THEM!! I am new to the area and went to Care Station as they are a provider that takes my insurance. I am 100% healthy and just went in for an annual physical. After waiting for over an hour (with an appointment) I went through a series of tests and was declared in good health. At this point the doctor (Dr. Zeliff) recommended a heart echo and ultrasound for my kidneys and abdomen. I asked her if it was necessary since I am have no health issues and she said that it would give them a good baseline in case I develop any problems later in life. I wrongly assumed that they would not recommend anything that was not covered by my companys medical plan since all I wanted was a preventative care physical. All of these additional services were not covered and I had to pay $450 for them. When I called to dispute the charge the lady in billing recommended that I call my insurance to see if they would cover them. Are you kidding me? I already know they arent covered which is why I am calling you to ask why your doctor recommended services I didnt need and would have to pay out of pocket for. Needles to say I will never go back and would recommend others find a different place for their primary care.
I arrived at this facility without an appointment today and was welcomed. I was greeted by the front desk staff with a smile and urgency. Everyone at this facility were pleasant and professional. A well equipped and professional atmosphere. Outstanding service and CARE!
Ive been here about 3 or 4 times, this last time was not a good experience. The wait is longer due to COVID19, which is understandable, but the girl at the front desk seemed to have an attitude. The PA I saw was friendly and helped me, saying I needed to get a prescription but would require bloodwork for it from someone else. She left the room and I could hear her out in the hallway talking to others and laughing. Soon after, I had my bloodwork done by someone else but realized the doctor never verified my pharmacy for the prescription. I called her back in and asked her explicitly if she sent everything to the correct location. She verified and said she did. I left and ran some errands for about an hour and headed to the pharmacy, turns out they never received any prescription from the PA. I had to GO BACK to this location (since the phone number is a hotline for all care stations), and ask them AGAIN to send the prescription. Now Im waiting at the pharmacy for them to put the prescription together when it wouldve been done already had the doctor sent the prescription over an hour ago when I was there. Its unacceptable to have to tell a doctor to do their job, especially when its so simple. Now Im wasting even more time. Having to go back to them and now back to the pharmacy.
Went in Monday for a covid test and was told Id have the results in 12-48 hours. 72 hours later and 3 calls with 20 people in front of me (45 minutes) was finally told they didnt get enough sample and needed me to come back in. No phone call, email or any update on the portal. Dont waste your time and money here if you need results back quickly. Everyone else I work with went elsewhere in Union county and had the results back same day. 72 hours later and I needed to call them to find out they didnt even get enough sample. I just went to CityMD on Rt 22 instead and had my results back in 20 minutes.
Horrible horrible waiting time, came in for a simple employer drug test, waited 3 hours… I called 3 days before coming and was told I could not make an appointment and only accepted walk-ins to find out that they take appointments in first and leave the people even though they came earlier all the way at the end. Lady inside of the office made some smart remark, that is not how you treat a patient. Do not waste your time or money and go some place else.
They’ very respectful, patient, and kind. They also show compassion and understanding.
Minimum waiting time in waiting room and exam room. Staff was courteous. Nurse and Techs were knowledgeable. Doctor addressed all my questions and concerns. He knew why I was there because he reviewed his schedule/my chart before speaking to me and thats a plus.He followed up on past visits and medications. I was truly content when I left the office.
This Care Station is great! Excellent service and staff. It took a while, but that is expected for a walk in urgent care facility. I was very pleased!! Very clean and Covid safe. The best part is you can call and actually get a live person and their customer service is excellent as well! If you need urgent care or Covid-19 testing this is the place.
I scheduled an appointment for a PCR test. After the nurse administered the test, I had to wait 10 minutes for the doctor come in to see me. I already have a primary care physician, so this was unnecessary. From a medical-business point of view, urgent care can charge my insurance company more money when the patient is seen by a doctor. After listening to the doctor chat with a nurse for 10 minutes in hall about the weekend, the doctor walked in, told me to continue taking zinc and vitamin C, and I was done.I needed the test to go back to work. 5 days later, still lab results.
The staff that I have encountered with are all around professional women with great attitude. With the willingness to help at all times.Dr. Cecilo has been one of the best decision that Care Sation Management done. Her bedside manner are the best at anytime that I have come in for a visit. She is direct, though and helpful.
Terrible!!! Unreliable, neglectful and untrustworthy medical services. If i could give zero stars I wouldThe level of incompetence and unprofessionalism from the staff at the West Orange facility is horrendous. The fact that my husband pays a great deal for our health coverage it is despicable that we or anyone would be subjected to this level of service. I am 20 weeks pregnant and the last thing I need is to feel a disconnect and lack of trust from my medical provider. I highly do not recommend this place to anyone if you want good health care go elsewhere.
Was Trying to switch my echocardiogram prescription from one facility to another and was able to make the appointment. Then I was told that they couldn’t accept it but since it was less then 24 hours before canceling the appointment. They send a cancellation bill to collections for $50 for an appointment that you couldn’t accept me for.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! They claim walk-ins are welcome and will be taken in quickly, but instead had me waiting 1 1/2 hours and then told me to be patient because there were still scheduled patients ahead of me. When I walked in because of flu symptoms the scheduled appointments were all done. They were just bumping walk-ins until they had a free minute to see them. Do Not Go as a walk-in!!!! The stupidest thing of all is that they said I should have made and appointment... IF I HAD KNOWN I WAS GOING TO BE SICK.... Really?!?!?!?
Great place for a busy lifestyle person as myself. The only thing I hate about this care station as of any hospital or Dr. Office setting. They try everything to accumulate, addition income for the business. They want you to follow up everything 3 months to chat, or go over your results (resulting in co-pay or office visit billing to insurance). They would like you to do additional testing or send you for a stress test. If needed or not. In order to get paperwork filled out you have to come into the office to be seen. In order to get a refill on any prescription you have been using for years, you still have to be seen (resulting in co-pay or office visit to insurance, just to get a prescription . Even though you used the same prescription every year, year summer, or every winter. The staff is great, never had a problem. The Doctors are great , the late times are convenient for my schedule. They are open on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Love the late days. When in waiting, be patient and be kind. People complain about the wait but forgot they have to be seen also and they might have questions for the Doctors. Try to give yourself time at the doctor, dont go if you are in a rush. Other than that,....this place works for me and it can for you..plus they remodel the place..everything is brand spanking New.....
My husband waited 5 hours for an EKG and blood work. We were told that an appointment was not needed just to walk in. Walked in at 1PM we were not seen until after 5pm. The receptionist just didnt give a dam. poor service never again.
My husband and I did PCR tests here for a wedding we had to go to that required it. The process of getting the appointment was quick and the process itself was quick and everyone was really great. The issue is that they lost my husband’s test and didn’t realize until the day of the wedding. We kept calling and asking and they kept saying to check the patient portal. On the 4th day, the day of the wedding, they finally said they misplaced it and asked my husband to come back to get it done and they would rush it. Since the wedding was in a few hours, this wasn’t possible for us. We had to miss the wedding. We were extremely disappointed and upset. Even if they had told us on the 2nd day that they had lost it, we could have made it to the wedding. It was very upsetting.
Stanley was a great help and very kind thank you
No Compassion. If I could give zero stars I would.I am the type not to go to the Doctor as often as I should, in fact, I try to avoid it often to my detriment. So when I woke up this morning with excruciating pain in my back and shooting down my leg worse than anything I have ever felt in life I walked in to Care Station. At the end of the visit I left with about 75 percent of the pain I came in with. I cannot tie my left shoe because of the pain in my back when reaching down to my left foot. When I informed the doctor that I would need a note for tomorrow as well as today it was refused. I explained that I had an oral argument in Court tomorrow and I was in no shape to adequately represent my client, at least the way I felt at present, and the PA would not provide a note. Now the Court is generally on an honor system but I always prefer documentation for anyone that might ask including my clients if I need an adjournment for a medical reason. I understand a medical professional has a duty to issue such notes with accuracy but the lack of compassion for me and my business, and my ability to do my job tomorrow is appalling to me. I will no longer be a patient at Care Station and will make sure to advise all who will listed not to use their facility including employees of the municipality that I work with. By the way the administrative staff I have no issues with.Stay away!!!!!!!
In severe pain, came in at 9:00am and wasnt taken in until 10:40, then wasnt seen by a doctor until 11. The doctor herself was very kind. Came back that night as my pain intensified, and walk-ins who came in after me were being called in before me. Had to wait an hour to get into a patient room. The nurse was rude and indifferent to my pain, told me I was wasting my time coming in. Won’t be coming back here.
Came to this facility as a walk in to get a covid test!!! Just a covid test. Then was told that since I did not have an appointment I would have to see the doctor as like a regular check up. So a 15 minute visit turned into an hour visit. Not please with this at all. All these places are just money hungry and looking to bill insurance anyway they can. Friendly staff but unnecessary wait time for a appointment that was not needed so my time was wasted.
Nurse practitioner came (never introduced herself ) in a did a drive by. Mentioned some possible prognosis, sent me for a urine culture and left. As sitting in the room alone for a couple minutes, I went to the reception desk to see if I was done. She comes out again, talks about prescriptions shes sending over (never thoroughly explaining them) and announces her findings in the presence of another patient and the receptionist. Disgusting! Other staff was very nice tho.
Waiting 7.5 hours for a Covid test that never happened. They could never tell me how long the wait, how many ahead of me, or anything else. I wasted a whole day sitting in a car waiting for a call that never came. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for a facility that cares more for its patients, and at the very least respects them enough to communicate more openly.
This was my 3rd or 4th appointment, the last time I went before yesterday’s appointment I waited for over an 1 hr and 30 min to be only seen by the doctor for 10 min , I pay a 30 dollar copay. I myself are in clinicals to be an occupational therapist , giving me a print out for exercises is a joke, yesterday I had another appointment 445pm, 5 people ahead of me . I canceled, even walk ins are a long wait . Never returning to this place. Terrible customer service and courtesy.
My husband and I came here for a PCR COVID test before attending a wedding. Walk ins Welcome says the site. We quickly registered and we’re told we are next. They said probably in 30 minutes. 1 hour 45 minutes later we learned that we had to see a doctor & have our vitals taken in order to be established as patients before we could have the Covid test. We were there over 2 hours. Find another venue if you just need a Covid test.
After having been here once and experience was good, I decided to come here for a second visit. I called first to see if I should walk in or make an appointment and was told that making an appointment would be better.Got here for my appointment and the lady at the front desk (Michelle) told me that I have an hour wait even though I made an appointment!!!! I asked her why didn’t someone call me to let me know that since I’m taking time off from work and she responded that they don’t do that. She was rude and walked away from her desk with me still standing there! Very annoyed and would not come here anymore. Care Station need to train their front desk employees!!! Not acceptable!! Needless to say I left ...
I was a walk in for urgent care. I arrived at 1:15 PM. By 3:30 PM, I was not seen. I noticed people that came after me, that had appointments, were serviced and gone. When I asked how much longer I would have to wait, I was not able to get an definitive answer. I get it, first come first serve, after appointments. However if you know you’re booked and backed up with appointments why not let me know that the wait is going to be over two hours before I checked in. You know that you overbooked today and if I have to wait until all the clients with appointments are done I would be waiting until the end of the day. So long story short if you have an emergency I need urgent care don’t go to this establishment.
Horrible experience. I waited over an hour, got seated in a room only to wait an additional hour for the doctor who came in and seemed like he was in the biggest hurry. The doctor lied and said he was going to put my prescription in but really went to see another patient while I was waiting in the room (he thought I didn’t realize this). I came in for two things and when I started telling him about the second he said he was going to put my prescription in. Like really, that made no sense, wouldn’t they all go in together after your done with addressing all of the reasons why I am there. I guess the only interest at this place is the volume of patients they can see, not the care provided at all. I plan to find a different urgent care location.
THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!! I made an appointment and I was waiting for 30 mins in the waiting room. People coming in as walk in and being seen before me. So I came to the front desk to let the front desk girl know that I had an appointment. Front desk staff with not much informative , no help, not even a smile or apologize. Overall, I would not recommend to anyone this practice because of very disorganized and no good customer services at all to the patients.
I last visited in 2015, so my experience is based on how they ran their business back then. I dont know if anything has changed recently. This facility is not ready to act as a primary care provider for wellness visits, and, in my opinion, makes many attempts to perform services that are not medically necessary or accepted by the general medical community just so they can bill insurance.I have gone to the Care Station Medical Group office in West Orange for the past few years for my annual physical (wellness visit). The wait times have been reasonable, and they have been professional while conducting the basic weight check, vision/hearing tests, and blood draws for the standard blood tests (cholesterol, cell count, etc). The doctor repeatedly thanked me for coming in for my annual physical. Though one time they shuffled me between a few rooms while telling me to wait for a circulation test, but ultimately told me no rooms were available, so they would skip it. If its an important test, why skip it? If its not an important test, why ever perform it?My biggest complaint is in their strong recommendation for patients to get an EKG and abdominal ultrasound as part of routine checks. Every year Ive gone, they recommend I get an EKG and chest/stomach ultrasound. Not because of any underlying condition, but because insurance covers it (quote from the tech doing the tests). Actually, insurance did not cover it, because Care Station did not submit the claim properly. And upon getting several second opinions, its clear to me that virtually no other PCP in the industry does EKGs or ultrasounds on young, healthy patients with no prior incidents or relevant history, just as part of routine procedure. The same EKG testing was recommended to my wife, and to many others as evidenced by online reviews I read. In my opinion, its a quick test they can perform and bill for hundreds of dollars. They also didnt really do the ultrasound correctly, anyway. The paperwork they gave me only mentioned the EKG, and said I didnt need to fast the night before. I only learned Id be getting the ultrasound when I showed up, and that I should have fasted, but they would perform it anyway.Echoing others reviews, Ive also experienced that they will tell you that they will call you with the results from your blood work, but then they dont call. This has happened to me repeatedly. I called them to find out how it went. At first they told me it was fine, and theyd only call me if there was a problem. But once the doctor actually took a minute to pull up my file, he said he wanted to give me a prescription based on the results. Would they ever have called me if I had kept waiting for them to call me?A few months after my annual physical, I received a call from them saying that the doctor wanted to see me for my quarterly checkup. Whats a quarterly checkup, I asked? The receptionist stated that the doctor likes to do QUARTERLY wellness visits with all of his patients, and that I had supposedly already missed one quarterly wellness visit that they had supposedly scheduled, but had never asked me, told me, or called me the day before to confirm (which they do for all visits which were actually scheduled, and not just pretend scheduled). The receptionist did not refer to this visit as a follow-up regarding anything discussed at my physical, but with the words quarterly checkup. What doctor does QUARTERLY wellness visits with young, generally healthy patients? Only ones that want to bill for useless tests to pad the businesss coffers, in my opinion. Every legitimate medical advocacy / industry group recommends ANNUAL physical.I do not plan to return to this company for wellness visits.
I went to bed on Friday night with the beginning of a sore throat which also turned into a chest coldfearing I had Covid I went to the care station and asked for a rapid test first thing in the morningThe rapid test came out negative the PA /. Doctor Who I saw thought I should get a CPR because of my cough which also turned. out negative( results recd the next day)I thought the staff from soup to nuts were very professional efficient and organized will definitely be coming back again
Total waste of time. Receptionist was lovely. I chose this location due to comprehensive services advertised- particularly onsite radiology. Given the fact that this business advertises as urgent care/walk-in/able to treat a wide range of conditions- it came as a surprise that the radiology service (service I needed) was not available. The PA that I saw said radiologist wasn’t available and that my insurance didn’t cover it anyway. I said I’m in pain and not concerned about price - I’ll pay out of pocket. The sports medicine dr I was assigned to -confirmed that no radiology was available and got terse with me when I expressed that I chose location because that was advertised. He said we do offer it but basically not all the time. He seemed perturbed that I would even have that expectation (hmph). He also said the people that perform the radiology are techs and results would need time to be interpreted by an md - so basically- I wouldn’t get immediate diagnosis/ treatment anyway. But If there are md’s at the practice - I’d assume they’d all be able to interpret the results. I needed an immediate plan of care in place as I was heading out of town the next day. I would not have expected those services to be available at all hours the facility was open had that been clearly stated on website. (Something like - only certain hours available after listing radiology as a service.) I’d have saved myself an hour and a half and gone directly to ER instead as that is what I had to do. I had severe bladder pain which wound up being due to kidney stones. Only CT scan or ultrasound could confirm. After spending 6 hrs in emergency room - I was accurately diagnosed/ treated and made it out of town.
Drs and staff are all very nice and take the time to make sure that you feel hears. Wait time is exactly what I would expect from an urgent care facility. The doctor even took him the time to come back out and rewrite my RX when I looked it up after going back to the waiting room and found out how expensive it was. I will be back here if I need to see a doctor when mine isnt in.
One star is way too many. Multiple issues. 1. there was too many people in the waiting room. +\-25 people. 2. the office basically shut down when lunch arrived.. Did not see or hear a staff member for more than an hour. I was there just for a Covid test for surgery that I needed it. Hands-free sanitizer machine empty. Two bottles that were in check in empty. And information on my portal was not true did not talk about any of the subjects that were in that. Again there for Covid test only for surgery. I was there for almost 4 hours. Unacceptable. Will never use you again. And I will tell people not to go there either.
I love the doctor I see here. I also like the staff and nurses. They are all great! What I can not stand is that no matter what day or what time my appointment is for, I wait for 30-45 mins to go to the room in the back and then another 15-30 mins to actually see the doctor. So when my appointment is at 1:15 like today, I didn’t get taken into the back until 1:50 and now at 2:10 I am still waiting to see the doctor. What is the point of making an appointment? Might as well have come earlier today as a walk in. Then I know I will be waiting for awhile. This is a problem that I have brought to the attention of the doctors, nurses and multiple office managers and still after a year of coming here and bringing this problem to their attention, NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!So if you have an extra 45 mins to 2 hours for your appt, then you will love the doctors.
Veryyyyyyyy slow... I went there for a COVID test a walked out exactly 1 hour and 20 something mins later. They also said my results would be posted on the patient’s portal as soonnn as it was received * I needed mine for a flight * I checked that portal about a trillion times & till to this day it hasn’t been posted... I did have to pay for a new flight as I couldn’t fly without proof of a negative test. I ended up getting my results from them when I got them over the phone & had them email it to me. 😐
I have been going here for several years now, the doctors are very professional and good bedside manner engaging in good conversation asking and answering questions. The staff are excellant as well. Very courteous, patient and kind.
Walked in on Thursday .. everything went well .. the initial wait was not that long when I walked in. Was screened by the front desk for name, insurance info and medical consent forms. Saw the dr got a shot, and prescription sent to my pharmacy, I got a follow up visit, scheduled for 2:30 the following Monday (today).. I asked two times while I was waiting why does it take so long.Response: walk in are squeezed in with appointments. I asked if it’s usually over an hour that people with an appt get pushed to the back for?I have been here since 2:15 waiting to be seen for a 2:30 appt.I am currently waiting in the medical room for the dr to be seen.Edit 4:05 .. still waiting
Today I walked into the Care station with a piece of a q-tip stuck in my ear. I was a bit skeptic coming in because of all the bad reviews I saw. BUT, when The PA, Dr. Andrew, came in an took his time with me I was surprised at how diligent he was. He was very persistent and determined to get the stubborn wad of cotton out my ear. Definitely give him and this place a 5 star rating!!
We’ve been here probably 6 times over the years. The old facility was getting run down but they now have a new building. I’m posting because I was surprised at the negative reviews. Not saying they aren’t legitimate but we’ve have pretty good experiences there. We typically go when we can’t get an appointment with our normal pediatrician quickly enough and the issue isn’t serious enough for a hospital visit.
The staff and doctors..Dr. Akuna are amazing. Everyone is professional and kind. My issue is the wait time. Waited twice in a row for over 1 hour and I had an appoi tment. Otherwise..great place. This is a follow-up to the post that I made early last year. The doctor that Im see now doctor because dr. Acuna is on maternity leave, is walking out the door as hes coming in the room. He over talks you, he does not listen, hes not interested in hearing your history. It appears as if he just wants to whitewash your illness and minimize it. I am an ICU nurse and I was treated very unprofessional eat by this doctor. I will not call his name but the company knows who he is because he is the doctor that replaced dr. Acuna. My experience with him was not good. I am looking for another doctor. I didnt mind the wait at Care Station because the doctor was exceptional, that is dr. Acuna. But now that I have to see this particular doctor I will have to find a new Primary Care Facility.
I have had the pleasure of having Dr. Akunna as my doctor. She is excellent, great bedside manner. Treats patients like primary care patients should. I will miss her and I hope the quality of care doesn’t change.
Station care is a nice place to receive medical care. Two doctors that were kind and patient gave me helpful advice to care for my health. Dr. Bishoy Wassef and Jessica Akunna were very professional. However, if Im unable to follow up with my initial physician, I would like to see my information is clear to the next treating physician, so I would not have to repeat my symptoms all over again. This place needs a regular radiologist on site so that they can diagnose and treat their patients more effectively. Time is an issue but not the main issue. This health care facility can be the best if it had immediate accessibility to other health affiliates.
I was very happy with the services at the Care Station in West Orange. They were friendly, courteous and very patient. The staff and doctors were very professional. Unfortunately they dont accept my insurance! I wish so bad they did so that I may go to them myself.
Don’t go there. I had an appointment at 10 and left at 11:20 it’s embarrassing to wait that long, urgent care is faster than them. I don’t know how much longer I would have still been waiting before being seen. They definitely overbook their doctors. And some people are waiting 30 minutes in the exam room after they’re called in.
Went for covid test, filled out form and honestly the last number of my cell was not legible. It should have been a 4 but it looked like a 1/2 uReceptionist took that as a 0. Looked nothing like a 0 but thats what she used to call me. She called that number and she got a Verizon message saying no longer in service. found this out after going in from sitting in my car 2 1/2 hrs and said I’m still waiting for my call. She proceeded to tell me she called me twice, at the number that was incorrect and I couldn’t have the test! I then explained to her, that we were both wrong. My mistake, I should have rechecked my writing as I have issues that hinder me from writing legible. Her mistake, after receiving Verizon message I feel she could have called my other contact for correct number. I let her know I’m very highly compromised and was near a covid person and needed this test. She said to reschedule. After going back and forth with this uncaring receptionist, I told her I was not leaving and to talk to a doctor, she went in the back 2xs, first time telling me we stop testing at 7, they’re open til 9 and it was only 7:15, now I asked to speak to the doctor, she went back again and they decided would take me. I cannot believe what I had to go thru with this office. Do not go there for a covid test. Hopefully I’ll get my results.
What a wonderful surprise. Fortunately, my issue was not an emergency, but, the facility, staff and physicians are all world class. My recovery was quick and uneventful. I was recommended to CareStation by a friend and I will not hesitate to recommend the Station.
