I was seen 3x at this office from March 2024 to May 2024 for a new patient exam (1) - another exam (2) with endometrial biopsy - and a transvaginal ultrasound with lab work, respectively. It was discussed at all 3 of my appointments in March, April and May that I would be referred for a mammogram. When I followed up in Sep 2024 about the referral for a mammogram, I was informed that my provider left the practice. After the run around all day, it has been determined that they are “not comfortable” referring me for a mammogram without being seen in the office again to pay for an exam (#3 in ~7 months).Don’t waste your time. The only thing I liked about this office was the provider that left, and that tells me everything I need to know.Could say even more but what’s the point, they don’t care.Edit to add: Amanda Boitnott has left this office so please note that when reading other reviews.
I have never felt more comfortable and at ease in a doctors office in my life! The front desk staff and the nurses were incredibly kind. Dr. Boitnott listened to every concern I had with no judgement and answered all of my questions in depth so I was able to understand more about what was happening in my body. Claudia did my ultrasound, i had never had one before, and she made it so easy and I felt very comfortable the whole time despite being anxious before. I cant say enough good things about this place! 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
If I could give Dr Novosel a 1000 stars I would. she is the best Doctor in the whole wide world. She takes her time at each appointment and never rushes out. She is very thorough and also she makes me always feel like a part of her family. She delivered my children and could not ask for better care than her. She is just the sweetest and caring with a great huge heart. I have followed her from the practice she was previously. The ladies in my family also go see Dr Novosel. She is worth every bit!Today I went in for an emergency appointment and nurse Practitioner Amanda Boinott was outstanding. She was supper sweet and made me feel very comfortable she took excellent care of me today and I feel much better.Thank you Dr Novosel and staff for always take excellent care of me and my family.
Relieved to find Amanda and her commitment to listening to her patients and trying to offer complete care. It was challenging to get someone on the phone for an appointment, but it’s been my experience that every healthcare office is struggling to meet demand, so it wasn’t surprising. Once I got in there, though, I felt heard and cared for. Thank you!
I recently visited this practice with concerns related to potentially having PCOS, thyroid issues or Hashimotos--and, they were nothing but kind, inclusive and thorough with their care. I had Jessica as my doctor and Claudia as my ultrasound technician, and could not recommend them highly enough. I felt like I was genuinely listened to when expressing the problems Id been experiencing, and Jessica worked to help me find a solution that would best benefit me in every aspect. As a genderqueer/LGBTQIA+ person, it can be nerve-wracking when visiting new doctors--but, every person at this practice made me feel welcomed, and the care was top-notch.
Dr. Novosel and her staff are extremely kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I went for my first office visit yesterday and received what was, without a doubt, the best annual exam Ive ever had. I am so thrilled to have found Azalea Gynecology. If you need expert gynecological care, check them out!
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Dr. Novosel answered all of my questions with no judgement, and she didn’t rush anything. I was seen promptly, the staff members were very helpful and nice, and I can’t think of a single negative thing about this practice or my visit.
Overall, the practice has gone down hill significantly over the years I’ve been a patient there. The providers always switch practices, so I never see the same person each year which is not ideal for a gynecological practices where women should be able to trust their providers. Also, I never received an appointment reminder for my recent visit when I have received reminders in the past. Furthermore, I have had to wait over a year now before they could schedule me for my annual visit, which is also not ideal considering I have actual health concerns to discuss this year. Lastly, they refused to see me at my recent appointment simply because I was 8 minutes late, which I understand is not ideal for them, but life happens sometimes and I live over 40 minutes away. I’d understand if I was 15-20+ minutes late but 8 minutes seriously?! I would have waited in the waiting room for at least those 8 minutes if I would have gotten there at my specified time, so how are you really not able to see me then. Honestly, it just seems like no one is happy or truly wants to work there, so after 5+ years of being a patient at Azalea I am finally over it and happy to be switching practices.
Yesterday I called to set up an appointment for some pain I’ve been having. The person who booked my appointment was extremely friendly and managed to squeeze me in for an appointment today at 7:30am, which I was extremely appreciative for. I figured I’d be the first person in since the office opens at 7:30 according to their Google page. I wasn’t directed to come in early and figured that was standard since my appointment was literally at the time they open. I arrive at 7:29 with another patient already in the waiting room and another in line to be checked in. The receptionist politely tells me to wait a moment and comes back with a look on her face like she’s about to tell me disappointing news. So at this point it’s 7:34 and she tells me that I’m into my appointment time and can’t be seen. I push back to say I arrived at 7:29 and she goes on to tell me that I walked through the door at exactly 7:30 because she looked at the mirror she uses to monitor the door and checked her clock and that the office actually opens at 7 am for patients to arrive early. This is a beyond petty time difference in my opinion. If the office opens at 7 why wasn’t this told to me? This information must be relayed to patients and posted in the office hours listed on their Google page. There’s several other reviews stating this has happened to others. This is no negativity to the receptionist and phone staff. They were all friendly and respectful. This is obviously a trickle down effect from poor management and training. If you open at 7 and are scheduling patients to be seen at 7:30 RELAY that information to the patient. Make it clear that they need to arrive early. These posted hours are misleading. I arrived at my scheduled time thinking that’s what time the office door opens. I was offered an appointment later in the morning but unable to take it due to work and school schedules. So like many other women in America, I will put off my health issue because of poor medical care and practices until I can find another provider because I’m not going to give money to a business that can’t accommodate someone showing up ON TIME for their appointment.
Where do I begin….. let’s start with the shirts….: no gown- open in the front sitting there holding it together while you talk, I got a shirt and it was pink! Something so simple made me feel so much better. Backtrack to the nurse that called me in…. She listened, she stopped and looked and me and listened. Now the doctor….. where has this woman been my whole life. She made me feel calm, she made me feel comfortable, she made me feel like a human and not a number. If I could give this place more stars I would. I can’t wait to see where this new practice takes me in my health.
Just left my first appointment with Dr. Novasel and I couldnt have felt more at ease and comfortable! From the check-in to going over my history with one of the assistants named Emma, to meeting Dr. Novasel. I am very grateful to have been referred to Azalea Gynecology and Dr. Novasel. Thanks everyone!
I arrived ON TIME for my appointment. Was told because I was on time, the provider couldn’t see me because I needed extra time to fill out paperwork.I am pretty devastated as I waited over a month for this appointment and scheduled my week around it.I respect that policy is important - however, I would have appreciated a reminder to be early or a chance to fill it out early. Also not sure why I couldn’t fill it out after. If this is the way the office is run - alright, but I will not be returning.
I have a ton of anxiety surrounding OBGYN visits and they made me feel very safe! This is the first office that has listened to me at ALL about not wanting children as well. They were training a new intake nurse (I think thats what theyre called) and she seemed nervous but totally professional and the woman training her was super patient and sweet! The nurse practitioner was gentle, funny, and made it very obvious that she cares about her patients. So relieved to find an office I can go to regularly.
I’ve been a patient with Azalea since I was 18. I’m now 33. When Dr . Daily was in this practice, it was a well oiled machine (I credit her for the discovery of my mother’s colorectal cancer)… since she is no longer there, the organization has steadily declined in quality… and especially communication. I’ve had conflicting information provided to me about my results in the past. (I’m also an RN of 10 years.. and I get things happen, but a lot of what I’ve seen is unacceptable.) I will be changing practices. It’s a shame.
Dr. Novasel is excellent, cares for her patients. I felt comfortable and well taken care of. They give instructions to be early, which helps with on time appointments.
First provider I saw here gave me a procedure not approved for anyone under 21 when I was 15. Continuing issues with scheduling and you’re always waiting until the end of your scheduled appointment time before you’re actually seen.Oh, and my more recent provider was going to send me to a surgery center to do a diagnostic surgery, until I suggested that we take a second ultrasound to check the development of the results. Then they were like “oh yeah that’s a good idea.” Then why didn’t you, the provider, think of it before deciding on surgery? The provider I saw agreed that this would be the best course of action. The growths on my first ultrasound were originally thought to be normal and would go away within a few months. If they were not benign, they would not.
I came in with my friend for a procedure. She was very nervous. Upon her checking in, There was a man in the check in area being very unprofessional and loud. I saw him look into the office that my friend and i were in while she was having her blood pressure taken. When we were checking out, he in the hallway laughing and carrying on with another staff member. I love the provider here and they are great. Everyone was super nice. But my friend and I felt very awkward that there was a man being loud and carrying on in the office.
I went for the first time last week. it was my first time ever going to a gynecologist but i have to say it was an amazing experience. every staff member i encountered was so nice and made my problems their priority. the doctor i saw , Molly was incredibly sweet and accommodating to the fact is was my first time. she walked me through the process instead of just doing what she needed to do and getting out of there. she answered all my questions with detail. i truly felt comfortable in what i thought was going to be the most uncomfortable day of my life. thank you so much for making me feel welcome. this place is absolutely amazing especially for first timers!!
It had been a few years since I went to a gynecologist and I had to call a few places to try and schedule an annual exam as a new patient. Luckily I was able to quickly get an appointment here. The staff called me the day before to confirm my appointment. All staff were extremely friendly. My appointment started on time so there was no wait, despite me being a new patient and having lots of paperwork for them to enter. I like that I was given a cloth shirt to wear as opposed to the paper cover up my last place offered and I appreciated the stirrups with fuzzy socks so I wasn’t putting my feet on cold plastic. I felt very comfortable and was able to discuss my concerns and get feedback without any feelings of being rushed. It was great experience all around.
As the other reviews stated- money hungry. They required a second appointment just for my daughter to get a simple prescription and she has no medical issues at all. I have never had to go to an GYN twice just to get this. In addition the both times she had to go the staff were VERY rude to her. They also require payment day of- even if you have insurance or request to be billed. There is a reason they have appt availability. My daughter did not even get a visit summary when she left.I
I have had very negative experiences at gynecologist practices in the past to the point that I never wanted to go again unless I absolutely had to. I was referred to this practice by a coworker, and they did not disappoint! MA Mary-Kate made the check in process very smooth, and Nurse Practitioner Cynthia Grant made me feel very comfortable and listened to. The front desk and billing staff communicated everything very effectively and were super helpful. Its the type of place Ive always wished my GYN could be. Bonus points for using T-Shirts for annual exams over the weird paper dress. I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a great Gyno experience!
This is a horrible place!! My daughter had an appointment here on Tuesday AM 1/2/ 2024 at 7:30 am.. they didn’t open until then.. unlocked doors at 7:34… they rejected seeing her “ because “she was late 4 minutes “!!She ended up being very sick with a UTI…! I have heard from 2other past staff that this is a horrible place for healthcare!!! I’m a healthcare provider through UNC .. I’m reporting them and the PA !Do not get your healthcare here.
I dont really review doctors offices but I am surprised by Azaleas low rating as Ive had nothing but good experiences here. They were able to get me in for a new pt appointment months before Wilmington health could. The Gyn is professional, friendly and always made me feel comfortable. I believe she truly knew what she was talking about. She took my Nexplanon out at my request and prescribed new birth control. She also referred me to PT for women which has been amazing. No issues whatsoever and I recommend this office.
I was there with my daughter and the PA, along with a PA student yesterday, and were completely satisfied with their service. We went to the desk to pay our bill and check out & there was a man behind the counter standing next to the receptionist. We were asking the receptionist some questions and the man rudely interrupted to give his opinion. He continued to give advice that contradicted what our PA had told us about the different cost options of the reason we had been to this visit. I made a comment and he challenged it. I was taken back and felt like he had no business interfering with our conversation to start with. If we are coming to an ALL women GYN doctors office, why would there be a man hired as a Manager of this business? I felt uncomfortable with his presence and the privacy of my reason that I was there. I suppose he could sense this from me, as he finally turned and walked away from the desk. I mentioned to the staff how he made us feel. They suggested I write this review.
I had to find a new gynecologist as my previous provider for the past 15+ years moved out of state. I was recommended Dr. Novosel by a few coworkers and I could not be happier. I had quite strong anxiety changing providers and she could not have been kinder. The entire process was wonderful and her staff were just as kind. I highly recommend Dr. Novosel if you are in need of a new gynecologist!
Even though I was disappointed that Dr. Daily had retired from the practice, I decided to schedule my annual appointment anyway. I’m very glad I did. The staff were friendly and efficient, my wait time was minimal, and the office is transitioning from paper to electronic medical records (which is a good sign). But, most importantly my PA was very nice, friendly, reassuring, professional and I didn’t feel rushed in any way. I have felt rushed at a different gyn office and that is the main reason I came to Azalea. The one thing I would like is to be able to access my records online and hopefully the office will start this after the full switch to electronic records.
The office has been under new management for a little bit and wow at the changes that have been made and are still in the process of being made all for the better, much better. Very friendly and welcoming staff no matter who you come in contact with. All the providers are absolutely 💯 WONDERFUL with a great bedside manner to put even the most nervous person at ease and they each care more about their patients rather than just seeing them as a number. The patient truly matters and it shows on everything they do.
I had a great experience here! I found azalea because I needed a new Gynocologist and everywhere in wilmington had multiple months until their first available appt. Azalea was able to get me in within 2 weeks! I really enjoy the staff here and have received great care so far. I have only been twice but had a routine appt and an ultrasound appt and both were great
I saw there new PA today, Jenn. She is absolutely fabulous. She didn’t rush me out, made me feel comfortable, and answered all my questions. Highly recommend her!!
I missed an appointment & it was my fault because I forgot about it, therefore that resulted in me having to pay $50 for missing my appointment. FINE. Months later a miss another appointment due to an accident, my appointment was at 3, I called at 3:30 to reschedule, needless to say, they wanted another $50. Maybe I’m crazy & I’m no where near cheap, but I’m not giving you a total of $100 due to missing an appointment. Someone committed to women’s healthcare is so hard to find. This place is NOT it. They’re money hungry & Im not feeding them.
I love Dr. Novosel. She is wonderful! I cant speak for some of the other recent bad reviews (seeming to relate to other staff or the waiting area) but I believe this business has passed hands so ignore older reviews because Dr. Novosel is an excellent doctor and treats her patients very well. Youll be very comfortable with her. I cant speak highly enough about her!!! Even if it hasnt passed hands I recommend Dr. Novosel regardless!
I have been a patient for over ten years. I have had good experiences until today! There was an accident on my way over to the office. There was not a thing I could do to get to my appointment any sooner. Yes, I was late for my appointment and I called them after I got past the accident. Which was 15 minutes past my appointment time. When I explained my situation to the office manager, Craig, he actually laughed at me and said, “I should have called earlier. Like around 10:00-10:30 even 11:00.” How would I know there is an accident on my way. To be so unprofessional and be treated like that after being a loyal patient for all of these years is unacceptable. Myself and my two daughters will no longer be patients here. They are going to charge me $50.00 for a “no show” appointment for something that was out of my control. Not okay! Yes, there was a doctor slotted to see me at that time. Patients are constantly waiting on doctors to be seen. I am so disappointed!!
I am a former patient of Dr Stephen Brewbaker. He referred me to this office. I made my appointment a yr ago after I left his office. Scheduled for Oct 24 8 am. They asked me to arrive 10-15 min early so they could get my paperwork computed. I left my house, which is 1 hrs away, at 6:45. Was in Leland in a traffic jam with morning rush hour. I telephoned them and told them I was running late due to traffic. As soon as I got through the traffic and crossing bridge I called them again to let them know I was less than 5 min out. They told me I would have to reschedule. Note that I would have been there at 8:05 am. I have heard bad reviews but discredited them as I judge for myself. First impressions are lasting impressions for me. I will not reschedule an appointment with them or refer anyone there! Also note that if I would have gotten there I’m sure I would have had to wait at least 30-40 min as drs are Nvr on Time and that’s okay but you cannot be 2-5 min late ! Ppl you need to wake up. We pay for services. They make money from us. But not mine or anyone I know. I will let all know how inappropriate that was. I literally drove in traffic and rushing, just to be told I had to reschedule!
I was a prior patient when I was on my parents’ heath insurance but haven’t been since I aged out of their plan. I have been called by this office three times to schedule appointments I do not want and cannot pay out of pocket for; I explained this the first call and get the following two calls happened. Their “cancellation” policy is whatever they decide for the day. And when it came to paying the cancellation fee after not having success in disputing it since there was “no evidence” of me calling -despite the fact that I left a voicemail on top of multiple calls- Beth in payments and billing gave off the impression that she was the one doing me favor by even answering the call and was speaking to me like I was incompetent. I have never been spoken to/ treated by people -let alone people who consider themselves medical professionals- like that before. As soon as I was done I hung up my phone because I just couldn’t believe that this office pays people to act like that.
Dr.Celine Daily and her entire staff have been the BEST I have ever had! She takes the time to listen and understand any issues you may have, which you dont see a lot of now-a-days. I honestly have enjoyed every visit. From her nursing staff to check-in and check-out staff, everyone has been so courteous and caring. Yall are truly a blessing and thank you for all your help!
I am not usually a fan of doctors offices but I never have anything bad to say about my visits to Azalea Gynecology. The staff is very friendly and always have a smile on their face. The office seems to have a good working rhythm with all of the employees which makes your visit better.
What a great group of ladies!! Emily, Connie, Linda, Deb, Kathy and Kara were fabulous. I was a new patient in the practice and they made me feel like I have been going here for years!! I saw Dr. Novosel today and she was AMAZING!! She listened to everything I had to say and made me feel so comfortable during my entire new patient visit. I highly recommend this practice!!
After my visit I gave them five stars because they were quick, efficient, and relatively friendly. It was what happened after that I will never forget. I was called with my blood work and the results almost ruined my marriage. Thankfully my husband and I trust each other and knew it wasnt possible. They refused to do anymore testing so I paid out of pocket (because my insurance wouldnt cover more testing) to have a different doctor retest. It showed that none of the results were right and where they wanted me to take pills for low iron the other doctor said my iron was high. I wouldve ended up in the hospital with the amount they had prescribed. Shirley Aycoth and nurses do not care about anyone that walks through the door. I realize now that they were quick because the more people they can get to the more money is made. They wouldnt answer my calls and never apologized. I also doubt they tried to find the poor woman that my results were mixed up with. I just received a post card telling me its time to make an appointment. I will never be going here again.
I have been seeing Dr. Novosel for several years now. I am always able to get an appointment within a day or two of when I call if needed. The office staff is always so polite and professional. Dr. Novosel herself is the bees knees when it comes to bedside manner, addressing concerns, and showing so much support and empathy. Shes always happy to run any tests when I have concerns (thyroid panel, hormones, iron, autoimmune, etc.) never have I ever had such a caring Dr. Shes by far the best out there.
Cynthia Grant was friendly, personable and such a pleasure to work with. The office is extremely timely, which was a welcomed surprise. I felt very comfortable and will continue to see them for my care.
When my insurance changed, the receptionist acted like my new card was some kind of alien artifact. Loudly exclaiming in front of everyone she didnt know what the provider was, shouting back to the rest of the team, wondering if they had ever heard of that insurance, not being professional or confidential at all. Everyone in the waiting room was completely aware of my insurance situation by the time she was done trying to figure out if they took it or not (they ended up being able to take it fine... it was a big ordeal over nothing).I went in for some tests, and whoever is in charge of lab tests just *forgot* to send in my labs. So it has been three weeks and no one called me. When I called in wondering what was taking so long, the assistant acted like she was annoyed I was calling in. When she realized someone dropped the ball, all of a sudden was so apologetic. Now I have to go back in to get the tests done again and wait even longer for results because someone just didnt pay attention. Its really unbelievable. I have never had a medical office just forget to send in my labwork and then get annoyed at me when I all in wanting results.
Been coming here for years and they always make me feel comfortable and safe during my visit. Hardly any wait time either and the doctors are very thorough. Front desk is always friendly. Never changing doctors! Keep up the great work
Previously, I had multiple great experiences with this practice, their PAs and patient coordinators. Unfortunately, things went downhill following my attempt to reschedule an appointment with their office 23 hours in advance rather than the required 24 hours. My appointment was the following day at 10:00 am, and I called to reschedule 11:00 am the day prior. They wouldnt hear anything about removing the cancellation fee, though I was trying to reschedule, NOT cancel and was 1 hour shy of their office policy. I was met a week later with a vicious letter, stating they will be terminating our patient-provider relationship and that as a self-pay patient I should been seen at the nearest county health department or planned parenthood as if to shame me out of their practice. I have worked in a medical office for five years now and am always working FOR the patients, not against them or to humiliate them or nickle and dime them. Sad the greed of this practice overshadows the wonderful healthcare I received there.
I have to say, I was a little hesitant to make an appointment here after seeing the other reviews, but Im really glad that I did. The wait time was excellent; I probably only waited for about 30 seconds in the reception area and 2 minutes in the exam room before being seen. I have had really bad experiences in the past going to the gynecologist but Ms. Dunty was truly amazing. She listened to my concerns and didnt make me feel silly for having previous trauma at other practices. The exam was quick and painless. She even taped fun pictures on the ceiling to keep you preoccupied during the exam, which I thought was a great touch. I am very satisfied with my care at Azalea and will be returning for future yearly exams with Ms. Dunty.
I have been a client for 5+ years. Ive always been greeted with enthusiasm and respect. Several procedures have been completed in the office with my understanding of each beforehand. Check up calls were made to see how I felt the next day. I am very satisfied with this practice and the employees.
I went for an appointment with my wife because we had concerns regarding ultrasound results. The experience with Dr. Daily was without question one of the most positive and informative doctor visits I have had as a 51 year-old. She spoke in ways we understood, took an immense amount of time with us and always made sure we did not have any questions. She absolutely made us feel as though we were the most important thing she was going to do that day. Obviously as a male I am unable to speak to the OBGYN side of the practice, but from what I just experienced I cant imagine you would find a better doctor.
Nothing but great things to say about Azalea and especially about Dr. Novosel! She makes you feel appreciated and valued, and really devotes her time to you when she’s with you (versus rushing through the visit just to check it off the list). As a young adult, she has helped me feel educated and in control of my gynecological health over the years and I have learned so much from her! I have never felt judged and have gotten to know her over the years that I’ve been a patient at the office. Once in the office, wait times are slim to none, emphasizing the efficiency of their practice. I recommend Azalea & Dr Novosel to all of my friends!
I do not understand how this practice has received some of these negative 1-star reviews. This practice has been the holy grail of gynecology for me. When I have had emergent needs I am always fit in quicker than I would think possible, have quick service with short wait times (but actually have face-to-face time with my physician), and an overall caring atmosphere. Catie is amazing! She is the first gynecologist that has made me feel 100% comfortable and at ease and the only medical professional of any specialty (or general practitioner) to actually spend time talking to me, reviewing procedures, discussing options, and ensuring that I feel completely confident in my care and in my choices. I previously went to another well reputed practice in town and was treated awful with abnormal test results from my annual pap not being reported to me until several years after they began. I cannot imagine ever going to another practice after my overwhelmingly positive experiences with Azalea.
Absolutely terrible. I would give less than one star if I could. It was recommended I switch to an IUD to help with migraines and it turned out terrible. I was in so much pain I got it removed a week later. It’s been a year since then and I’ve had a recurring infection and severe pain since then that I’ve seen several other doctors for and no one has been able to get it under control. I’m now seeing a specialist A YEAR LATER and still dealing with it. I never had gynecological issues until the placement and removal of this IUD. Azalea was rude and dismissive about my extreme pain after insertion of the IUD and said it would go away. Here I am a year later still in pain. Absolutely terrible service and zero understanding. I’ve seen each dr in the practice and the only one that was good was Katy.
I have been going to Azalea for three and a half years now and it is truly the best gynecologist ever! Angela in particular has been so amazing, from scheduling appointments to explaining the insurance and billing process. The atmosphere is welcoming and goes beyond the usual sterile white-walled doctors office experience that many of us have come accustomed to!
Have been a patient of Azalea for over a decade, and for the past year when I have called to make an appointment it has always been an abnormally long wait. I was having an urgent issue and they said it would be 3 weeks, and I should go to urgent care. This is was NOT an urgent care matter, and needed to be see by a gyno. When I called to make an annual, the first appointment was 2 months out, and they said if I couldnt make that one, that it would be 6 months! Some of the staff there is lovely, but there seems to be something going on behind the scenes thats just not adding up. Very dissappointed to have to switch providers after going there for 14 years!
They try to charge you for missed appointments that you never scheduled! After my last doctors visit a few months ago I was told that I needed to come back in 4-6 months for a checkup. They wanted me to go ahead and schedule my 6 month appointment but I told them that I didnt want to schedule something so far away when I didnt know what I would be doing in 6 months. They told me that that was fine and I could schedule the appointment myself when the time came. Fast forward to now. I received a missed call from them one afternoon but they didnt leave a voicemail. I figured it was them reminding me to schedule my appointment. Nope. Come the next day they called me to tell me that I missed an appointment and that I needed to pay a $35 penalty fee. They said they called to remind me, which is why I had a missed call.Ive talked to so many people from their office about this and still they will not remove the charge and have been most unhelpful and rude. They told me that they have it in their system that they called to remind me, but they never left a voicemail! Ive read other reviews for this business and I am not the only one that has had this problem, which only makes me event more upset.I think that it is silly that they would rather lose me as a patient than rightfully remove that $35 fee because they messed up, but if that is what they want then that is what they will get. Thanks to other reviews that I have read, Ill probably give Glen Meade a try.
Dr. Novosel was incredible and answered all my questions and concerns. She was super nice and helpful. I highly recommend her. But Denise Sanfilippo was abrasive and seemed to not care about my questions. She also made a comment about my weight which I didn’t like.
I would give Azalea minus 5 stars if it was possible. On my first visit I was not in a hurry and agreed to stay for a bone scan since I was due. The computer had problems during my scan so the short 10-15 minute scan took over an hour and the results are suspect. The nurse called a few days later saying I have osteopenia and should that injections every 2 years. I asked that she send me the results for which I was sent a brochure about the disease and drug. Had to call to request the results again and was told I had to fill out a form which I did. When I got the results I shared them with my GP doctor. He was outraged at the suggested treatment and called it too aggressive for my condition. Then I was called and told I needed to come in a second time to have a second urine test. I stopped by to comply. A few days later I was called and told the sample was insufficient and I would have to come back again. Really, the 2+ ounces of pee was not enough????? I think they just forgot about it or spilled it.Now, I am finding a new Dr. and was told the fee to send my records would be $10 since it is more than 10 pages. I was only there one time.DO NOT GO TO AZALEA GYNECOLOGY. THEY ARE INEPT AT BEST AND COULD PUT YOUR HEALTH AT RISK!!!
I used them up to the point I found a lump in my right breast they quickly scheduled me to see Dr daily who did an exam told me it was probably a cyst set up a mammogram fast forward 2 weeks I’m in a beast surgeon and oncologist office with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer. A week later I start chemo. The front office said that they had scheduled my yearly exam when I was getting the breast check because I was due. They charged me 35.00 for a no show. First- I was in chemo for 5 hours that day second- I NEVER scheduled that appointment. They refused to remove the charge. Took me 2 minutes to schedule with a new doctor. Word of advice to the Dr.’s there. Get a new front office staff. I’ll never go back
Worst experience! My first annual with Shirley Aycoth was physically painful! They called me a week later and said they didnt collect enough cells and I had to come back and endure that pain again! My second annual again was painful and they called me and told me I had an irregular pap smear and would need a 6mos appointment. I told them I would make the appointment when it got closer...6mos later I get a bill for missing an appointment I never made!! I refused to reschedule the appointment and am now happily a patient at Wilmington Health OB/GYN. Azalea Gynecology is the absolute worst and I would never recommend this place/
I went in for an appointment after not going to the gyno for a long while. I saw Dr Novosel and she was amazing! She is so personable and caring - I can not say enough good things about her.
HORRIBLE SERVICE. They lied to me about how much I had to pay. I was paying my co-pay every time and then they said that they’ve been charging me wrong the whole time and now I owe over $200. They charge more for someone to walk down the hall with your urine sample than they do to test it for bacteria. When the front desk called me to tell me about my outstanding balance, I let her know I felt that I was mislead and lied to. Her response was VERY RUDE. She got defensive and told me I had to pay it in a very harsh tone and was very unforgiving. Never even apologized for the inconvenience.
I have been seeing Dr. Shirley Aycoth for almost 9 years. She is always kind, gentle, ask how I am doing. The front desk staff are always so happy and friendly as well as the check out staff. As to some of the other reviews, I dont know of any doctor that does not schedule in advance for the next appt., that is called organization and how a well run office operates. As to the urgent call, when you call you are told if it is an emergency please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital...this is an excellent office and have recommended several of my friends to them
I would not recommend this OBGYN to any woman who takes her health seriously. The receptionist are extremely rude and short. The place is an absolute joke and they do not care about the patients. Its all about getting you in and out. Ive been through 3 different doctors and the only one who actually took her time and tried to fix my issues was the first one. The two after , complete quacks! . HORRIBLE SERVICE. and Ive been dealing with this place for almost a year
I wish I would have never gone to this place for my yearly pap. They do not inform you before your appointment that you have to come back in 3 months after and that they will only prescribe you 3 months worth of birth control. I moved away after two months and tried to get her to prescribe me the rest of my years worth and they absolutely refused. Ive been on birth control for over 15 years and they would rather me go without because I cannot travel out of state to see them for a followup. They offered me no help either. They were very rude bout the situation. Now my insurance has paid for my yearly pap and I cannot get one elsewhere to get birth control for the rest of the year.
To whom this may concern,Due to the experience I’ve had with Azalea in the past months I will no longer be a patient at this practice. Upon my first pregnancy I had the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with ANY doctor. The staff was disorganized, unprofessional, and during an exciting time of my life did nothing, but cause me stress and anguish. It started with my first appointment to confirm my pregnancy. When I went to the lab to give blood the nurse was rude. Telling me, “She hadn’t see veins like this in 9 years and can’t believe she had to start her day like this.” I’ve given blood at Azalea before and apparently from what she told me she is the only one who takes blood. She went on and on about how horrible my veins were and how it was going to be a tough time for me during pregnancy because of how much I have to give blood. After being pricked several times, she sent me to Labcorp. Where I had to pay $75 because your staff was unable to draw blood. Then while I’m giving blood on the first try, azalea calls my phone twice with no voicemail. As I am walking out the door the lab tech stops me because Azalea faxes over a request for more blood work and another urine sample with no explanation. Once I leave labcorp I call azalea to see what the missed calls were for, but of course the lady did not know why and said no news is good news? Which didn’t explain the request for more blood work. Then I realized no one even confirmed my pregnancy. I assumed I was pregnant since I scheduled my ultrasound, but I called azalea left a message and asked to confirm my pregnancy and to let me know what additional blood work was requested. Upon my call back, the nurse apologized and said yes I was pregnant and the blood work request was my prenatal that the doctor didn’t mark on the first blood work request. Total sh** show that left me in tears thinking something was wrong. Then my first ultrasound. Azalea called my mother to try and reschedule my appointment before calling me? I’m not entirely sure I marked for my health info to be shared with her. If I did still not okay to call my mother first and if I didn’t sign for my health records to be shared that’s a major violation of the HIPA laws thankfully I told her two days prior I was pregnant. It would have been nice to been informed it was not done on top of the belly, not a big deal....but again for a first time mom it would have been nice to have had an explanation prior to me being told to take of my pants. Also when I went to take a urine sample the nurse was running back and forth trying to find out what kind of sample needed/ clean or dirty catch. I think it was the receptionist honestly.Lastly the phone call I got for my “referral to the high risk doctor” first thing on a Friday morning the call was started with have I received my referral to the high risk doctor...like WHAT?!?!!!! I don’t know anyone whose first thoughts wouldn’t be something is wrong. After asking her what was she talking about she explained that it was something that everyone was offered and I had to ask her if everything was normal. Who starts off a conversation about that type of subject in that manner to someone on their first pregnancy or anyone who is pregnant.I’ve talked to many people and doctors and all were appalled at the events that transpired with your practice. Today I received another bill from labcorp for an additional $9.85 I have to pay because your office couldn’t draw blood. Mind no one has had issues with it since. I wanted you to know why you are losing a patient and hope you really handle such a delicate time for a woman in a much better manner in the future.
My PC physician referred me to this practice. I saw Dr. Pamela Novosel. I was very happy with the visit. At 51yo I had never had a female gynecologist. Two babies and years of a male OB-GYN, I was grateful to have a female who gets what it’s like to be “a woman of a certain age”. I feel like she listens—and even better, hears—what I have to say. Not very common these days. Only reason there was not 5 stars was because it took a while to get an appointment. But, I guess that means they are busy. Which translates to they give good care to existing patients, of which, now I’m in!
I just called to make a appointment to see if they were accepting any new patients. The receptionist was very rude. Instead of her trying to understand what I needed done. She was talking over me the WHOLE entire time. Any doctor office I’ve ever been to has checked your blood pressure. I didn’t know it was a certain doctor you needed to check your pressure. Very unprofessional I will not be going or calling back here!!!
I just relocated so was looking for new doctors. My insurance company recommended the Azalea Group but after being with my previous Doctor for 20 years - I was a bit apprehensive. There was no need for worry. My first appointment was smooth and worry free. I did’t have to wait long, staff was courteous and Dr Navehar was approachable, knowledgeable and answered questions as well as offered solutions. I am very pleased and am glad to have a new doctor In wilmington.
I have been going here for years and I absolutely love it. Going to the Gynocologist isnt the most fun thing to do, but at Azalea they make it a comfortable experience. Im always welcomed with a smile and it makes me so happy. They are the best and I recommend everyone to go here!
Out of pocket or insured it doesn’t matter, this is my go to place always. I travel over an hour to come here and it is so worth it. I’m shocked by the poor reviews because I’ve been a patient for years (almost a decade) and have never been made to feel anything other than heard, comfortable, safe, and taken care of.
This was the most HORRIBLE experience ever. I went in for my yearly exam (first time at this clinic) and was in pain for 2 days after plus bled. Ive gone to several doctors for several years in a row and never felt like this. Do NOT use Shirley Aycoth to conduct your yearly pap test. She dug at me for 5 minutes and had absolutely no bed-side manners. Im not sure what she took for my pap, but it came back ABNORMAL - Ive never had an ABNORMAL pap in my LIFE! Then I was told ON THE PHONE that I have pre-cancerous cells with no other details and was told that I needed to schedule a pre-op appointment to sign a waiver for a colposcopy. WAIT A MINUTE! No one tells me what I am going to do with my body! I will never go back to this clinic again. I am finding another doctor to do my pap the right way.
Ive been going here for years for my preventative care and have had several procedures done as well. I see Shirley Aycoth and Dr. Daily. They are both wonderful and caring and always explain everything and answer any questions that I have. The front desk staff is awesome too. Ive never been treated better in a doctors office. I highly recommend them.
I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO AZALEA GYNECOLOGY. After an appointment, they try to schedule a new appointment for you and even if you say you cannot commit to that appointment, they apparently go and put it in the books anyway, then try to charge you for it down the road. I am currently in a battle with them over $35 (!!!) because they claim that I missed an appointment that I informed them I would not be able to commit to. The front office was so unfriendly and rude about the charge that I have had to take my complaint to the NC Attorney Generals office and to the BBB. Go to Glen Meade instead!!!! There are plenty of doctors out there and it is the customer service that separates one office from another and this office has NONE.
If Craig Ballard, practice administrator did not work there the place would be okay. He cussed at me and spoke to me as if I were a child. I asked the phone nurse to deal with the Dr and call me back, not him. Im sure if my husband was on the phone, he would not have been speaking down to him. Such a shame that someone like him can speak with the public.
Mrs. Shirley is super nice, Ive never had any problems except calling to cancel my appt. Here it is 12-6-2016 my appt is Thursday 12-8-2016. I called and got a super busy tone like the tone. I called the operater to have the line checked I was told the line was having trouble or the lines were off the receivers. Sure I hope I get an answer before 5pm today because I work tomorrow and want be able to call.
The worst! I called them because I had a pain that I couldnt figure out what it was. They said I should go to the emergency room. I told them I didnt want to do that...the nurse said that thats what the dr. said and she couldnt help me. I ended up calling my internist. He got me in right away and I had a UTI. I called Azalea and told them I was unhappy with the way they handled my situation and I was going to get a new gynecologist. Next thing I know, I get a certified letter delivered to my door saying that after careful consideration, they feel it necessary to terminate our relationship. REALLY....!! I fired them! They dont get to fire me!
I have been going to dr. Somja Navehar for about a year now. She has been very personable and answers any questions I may have and seems to genuinely care about her patients. All of the staff seems friendly and I have never had to wait long for an appointment. I would definitely reccomend them. I am surprised to see all of the one star ratings on here.
If you want to waste precious time (if you have any (known or unknown) issues), love having numerous tests done, and lots of money to spare-this is the drs. office for you! While the front desk and office staff is awesome and did a top-notch job (10 out of 10 stars)-the PA and Drs. leave a lot to be desired. They wasted 4 months of my time, an untold amount of money AND I have no resolution/answers or direction. By far THE WORST experience Ive had--ever.
Would not prescribe Diflucan after I requested it. Stated they only recommend over the counter monistat. Tried the 7 day monistat and was in so much pain from burning. I called and talked to a nurse and explained the symptoms and they still would NOT prescribe me the Diflucan pill. Stated I needed an appointment. Set up an appointment on Thurs was feeling better over the weekend and could not call off appointment for 815 Monday on a weekend and the slap me with a $35 missed appointment fee. NEVER AGAIN! Did not listen to my needs concerning my health
It’s been a year since I left that place. I had to pay a 30 dollar copay for showing up late to a appointment and that was frustrating but what was more frustrating is that I payed that 30 dollars and they are still trying to bill me for it!!! I payed the 30 dollars so leave me alone and stop sending me a 30 dollar bill each month please!!!
Dr. Daily is the best! She takes the time to listen to you. She actually cares about her patients. I have been going to this practice for 15 years. I would highly recommend her and this practice.
Really kind and caring doctors, love that they are all female. Never felt uncomfortable or judged for anything. Never had a bad experience with the desk staff either.
Super friendly staff from the front desk to the nurses and providers. Great listeners, you can tell they work hard to make you feel at ease and comfortable.
Sabrina and Molly were incredible! So sweet and helpful and they both made me feel so comfortable. 10/10 recommend this place for all women!
This is the best practice I have ever been to! They also delivered my baby. I would not go to another place ever! They listen and are very concerned with your needs. Awesome staff!
It’s pretty much impossible to get someone to call you back. I’ve been calling for over a week and leaving voicemails for Dr. Novasels new medical assistant and I can NOT get a single soul to call me back.
Been using them for years but one bad experience ruined all that for me (an extremely rude staff member) but honestly now that Dr.Daily left and then Katie I have no reason to stay. ✌🏼
I left my appointment with a smile on my face. Everyone here is so kind and helpful. Very grateful!!
Receptionist was very welcoming, however I was being rushed out, being the last appointment of the day. I could hear the coworkers being very inappropriately verbal.
Absolutely amazing place! Staff are warm and welcoming. Very thorough service and care. What a great experience!
Always attentive . Ms Catie is just amazing..always listens and shows she cares. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Thank you!!
I have always had an excellent experience with everyone in this office. Everyone is very nice and super caring.
Been seeing them for nearly three years. Great service and very kind staff and doctors.
Loved Kristen Goodwin - Nurse Practitioner. Would/will definitely recommend to female friends!
I have been going here for 12 years its a great practice and Dr daily is amazing
I always have a good experience here. Friendly, helpful staff and if there is an issue, it is corrected.
Ive had nothing but positive experiences at Azalea. Ive been going there for almost 5 years.....
Phone is not working...going straight to busy tone. Need to move records and cannot get in touch with anyone.
Yeah I would call to let you know but your office is closed 3 days a week :/
Great customer service, great office management!
Amazing! I love everyone in this office!
Fabulous doctors and staff who care.
