My first time at this location because the service I needed wasnt available locally. The team here was incredible at making me comfortable and well-informed on what to expect the whole time. Maddy went above and beyond the call of duty helping with the removal and putting back in jewelry I couldnt wear during my procedure. The most memorably positive experience Ive had at any Planned Parenthood, despite the nature of the visit, and Ive been going for over a decade. 💜💜💜
I would give them more stars if I could, I went for birth control to remove my iud and put a new one. Starting from the receptionist, following with the nurse and ending with the doctor they all we’re very nice, polite, smiley, caring and informative, as well as extremely gentle. Overall it was an amazing experience, from now and on im going to them for whatever I need!
I had excellent service at this Arbys.👍[Okay, on a real note, they were genuinely so helpful and respectful with my proceedure. They are patient, understanding, no long wait time - I scheduled an appointment in advance but walk ins are welcome! - And informative staff all around. Ignore any protestors you may see outside, the service this facility provides is impeccable and deserving of support and the utmost respect.Thank you, Planned Parenthood.]
I’ve been trying to not report every single bad experiment i have so much but this has been days later and it still weighs on me. I feel like something has to be done but honestly i shouldve read reviews. Thats my fault for overestimating health care centers..It was my first time here. I’m new to the city. I went in to support a loved one who is a victim from recent SA. We were stared and glared at from the moment we walked in. A clique of females and none of them had anything to say. I guess they were too busy.? So i took it upon myself to break the ice..HI! The robotic “how can i help you” with the side eye. Ok. We explain our need to be there and received even more ugly looks from people getting paid to do so..? I was dressed down that day like it should matter but what i gathered was they werea) miserableb) unintelligentc) over competentd) under qualifiedI’ll stop there but i could go on. I’m just going to say, poor things must not be used to much based on how they treat people WHO KEEP THEM IN BUSINESS! Sorry not sorry. I been in sales all my life and those people were selling a poor image for what supposed to be a professional atmosphere. I felt dirty being around them! Almost like women are shamed to come in and check themselves out..disgusting and honestly why is there 5-6 people at 1 small desk. Very off putting and cringey even now which is why Im sharing. Because all they did was show me how classless they were. New money nurses go figure..whats crazy is they were coming off so prestige like they havent checked the stats on nurses..oh well..As i stated, my loved one was SA..even if she wasn’t the faces they made at her especially the goofy looking, light skin one with curly hair made me want to slap her because HOW DARE YOU! and getting paid to make women who are already feeling low feel lower than YOU!! She didnt deserve my hands. I gave her dust YES MAAM! But days later Im still second hand embarrassed for women in her field. See what lil miss thang didnt know (shouldnt matter) we come from a family of female doctors. 2 of my aunts own their own practices in Tx. Last name is Cruz btw ;) If i wanted to i could press the issue but I’d like to give management a chance to address the matter. Me personally, I’m pro life! and not so casual. The chances of me seeing them again are slim especially after 1st impression but no human deserves that kind of treatment in their moment of vulnerability.I still feel second hand embarrassment for the obvious new talent and still hurt for my loved one and dont want another woman to experience this! Something has to change! I will give credit to the young nurse who tested me and the doctor who brought my results. They were both highly intelligent, personable and professional. I felt comfortable asking uncomfortable questions and they answered with such grace. Please retrain the help in front or replace. If not then the valuable doctor and young nurse can do better. This is not a good look!
I scheduled an appointment online for an annual wellness exam. I showed up on time for my appointment and went to the desk to check in. The girl at the desk took my information. After having to sit down and wait while she looked over things she called me back up to tell me that pap tests are only done once every three years and my last was done not quite two years ago. I let her know that my last pap had said that I was high risk for cancer and asked if that changed anything. She asked me to sit down again and wait while she checked. She called me back up and told me that they would need the records from my last pap. I gave her the information for the office where it was done and let her know that I was still needing to get a refill on my birth control pills. My most recent refill stated I had 0 refills remaining. She looked at her records and stated that I still have 3 refills remaining. I conceded. I figured I’d double check with my pharmacy before arguing.(I did after I left and sure enough, I had no refills) I stood there awkwardly trying to process what was happening. She looked at me and said, “So, you can go.” I have never been treated so poorly by someone in a healthcare facility and that’s saying a lot. I made an appointment for an ANNUAL wellness exam and was denied services for what? If they didn’t do a pap test they could have at least done a regular exam, a breast exam, and spoken to me about my overall reproductive health as one typically does at a wellness exam. I felt so dehumanized and belittled. I did have concerns about some things that I did not feel comfortable sharing with the receptionist in the lobby where others were waiting and could overhear. The lack of concern or caring was just heartbreaking to me because my experience with Planned Parenthood has been great in the past.Edit: I was able to speak with the health center manager and she was very kind and apologetic. I could tell that she genuinely meant it when she said that this is not the standard by which they operate and that they strive to provide the best care to all their patients. I will return to this PP and try again.
The receptionist by the left side window when entering main door , was so impolite with an attitude. Then she was my nurse, the way was asking me the screening questions was also Impolite with a “look down face”. I’ll absolutely never come back to this clinic.
If I could give zero stars I would. I came to visit this clinic on July 10 to get my birth control implant replaced. I also agreed to do a rapid STD/STI test along with this appointment. When I got in to get my implant replaced immediately, the doctor forgot several things and had to leave the room more than once, and that already made me feel a little uneasy. After finally replacing my birth control implant that is when Dr. Thorton Informed me verbally that I tested positive for chlamydia and prescribed me doxycycline as well as partner treatment. I started taking my doxycycline Friday the 12th and was severely nauseated on this medication. It was so bad to the point after taking the first two doses and throwing up, I decided to go to another plan parenthood to receive different medication. This Planned Parenthood located in Stafford , Houston informed me that in order for them to change my treatment they would need to test me again because the Waco Planned Parenthood never gave me a PDF file of my positive chlamydia results. I got the testing done. They gave me another treatment which was two pills for two days. The Stafford location originally did not want to test me again because they said it was too soon to do another test, but once I had explained that I had got a rapid test done at the Waco location, they decided to do another test because they weren’t sure how accurate the rapid results were. I took the treatment and after receiving my results from their test, I tested negative for both chlamydia and gonorrhea. This infuriated me because not only does this mean I was given a false positive (There is no scientific way to test negative for chlamydia If you haven’t finished treatment, there would still be an infection in your system) I was also treated for something I never had, was throwing up to the point where I had to miss work, my insurance got billed for negligence on the clinic and Dr. Thornton‘s part, and this potentially almost ruined my relationship. Just being told “well false positives can happen on a rapid test” is not enough for what I feel like I went through. I would never come to this location again, and I will never do a rapid test again.
I love this organization, every third Sunday of the month they have the diaper program. It has been so beneficial to be able to go and be treated with such kindness and joy. The staff is very helpful and returning home with a supply of diapers is wonderful. I highly recommend it! You have to have an appointment or arrive on time with their first come, first serve system, arrive early because there is a certain quantity for each size.
I was pleasantly surprised with my visit. My insurance is expiring soon due to a job change. I wanted to squeeze in a wellness exam and my pcp and obgyn had very long waits, months! I was able to schedule a next day appointment with PP. The staff is amazing, friendly, attentive, and informative. I was seen at the exact time of my appointment which never happens at my other dr offices. I was in and out in 45 minutes but not rushed at all. I’ve been on the depo shot for about a year and this was the first time side effects and risks were actually explained to me and what supplements I should be taking to prevent these potential complications. The process was very thorough and the doctor was kind and knowledgeable. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to my normal gynecologist again.
Very professional and kind. Judgement free zone. Staff introduced themselves which is huge in my book. The nurse practitioner was excellent, as well as other staff members. Do not hesitate to seek care here
Super kind and helpful !! i needed my first annual wellness + a new birth control prescription and i was able to do both in one visit for a super affordable out of pocket price.my appointment was comfortable and painless, and i felt very safe with the staff. the only downside was a woman standing outside appearing to be PP staff, but was most likely a protester. with that: i was told none of the PP staff would be outside of the building, so if you see anyone there best bet is to ignore them and go about your day.
The staff is incredibly pleasant and kind and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my entire visit. I love the clinician! She remembered me after 3 years and made my visit quick and relatively painless! The security guard was kind and made sure I felt safe. The pro birth protesters outside the clinic did try and harass me and attempt to prevent my car from coming in the parking lot. Please dont let these people stop you from seeking out quality womens reproductive care. I was able to get a full breast exam, a pap smear, and an also an IUD removal. I was out in an hour. I would suggest making an appointment, as their walk-in calendar seemed completely full.
Seriously wonderful and personable staff that give you all the information you need, and encourage you to ask questions about the care being provided to you.
The front desk staff was very friendly. I had some issues with being able to get services; they only do walk-ins until 2, a fact that I didnt see posted anywhere, so my first couple visits were a waste. I had to make an appointment and ended up not getting the service done I originally scheduled (a well-woman exam) so I had to schedule that specific service for a second visit. However, during my first scheduled visit, I got urine and blood tests done, as well as a cursory physical exam for some problems Ive been experiencing. The staff was knowledgeable, nonjudgmental, and discreet. I was able to leave with three months worth of birth control and STD/pregnancy testing done, as well as a stack of papers with loads of information; because of my income, I paid half the bill and Title X paid the rest. I felt very comfortable there in a facility with mostly women (and the occasional boyfriend tagging along) where I was able to get the services I need for an affordable price without anyone being sanctimonious or judgemental.
The wait time is horrible. Waited 2.5 hours for my daughter to get her Depot Provera shot. People were walking out and rescheduling do to the wait time. If you have any other errands to run, make sure your appointment is the last thing you have on your to do list. OAN: The staff there are very friendly and upbeat.
This is a great centre for womens health care, they were very helpful and kind! I was able to recently make changes to my birth control and get a new prescription with no problems, thanks to their help.
The staff is helpful and Planned Parenthood is an exceptional organization dedicated to administration of womens health services. My only complaint was concerning the anti-abortion signs and protesters, who are rude, misinformed, and hurtful towards patients.
Very friendly comforting environment. All my questions of concern were answered. Thank you all for being really good to your patients
Very friendly staff and took time to explain everything. When the nurse practitioner says she will can you back, she does!!!!!Planned Parenthood is not only for women folks!!
I have been here for over and hour past my appointment time. I asked the woman at the front desk about how long I might be and she was kind of rude telling me that they’re dojbh the best they can, and that they have people on break so they are slow. I am very upset with my visit today.
Friendly staff! Birth control that is easily accessible and affordable! Annual visits, std, HIV and cancer screenings... Say what you want but without this place this would be a much harder world to live in for women!
The staff here was so kind and didnt dismiss my concerns. I highly recommend Waco Planned Parenthood
They are amazing. When I couldnt get any medical help with my cervical cancer scare they helped me get what I needed to check it out. And continued to help after it was over.
This PP does NOT provide abortions, hate mongers & civil right abolishonists. However, the DO PROVIDE:Cancer screeningSTD testingGyno examsAnd other services for WOMEN & MEN at little to no cost.
Always very helpful. So thankful for their services and ability to help everyone in family planning, sexual health, and other areas.
They were closed when I tried to visit. 3 stars for varrying hours. Please do something about the abortion protesters in your parking lot. He tried to approach me as I was driving my car
This place is awesome and the staff definitely make things a lot easier for you. They were very supportive and helped keep me sane.
Amazing staff providing much needed health services to those that cant afford care elsewhere.
Make sure to call ahead. They are a great place when theyre open, but they are never open when theyre supposed to be.
I’ve been Trying To Make An Apt ASAP I Went By No Cars & Can’t Ge Through On Phone Lines ? Anybody Know Why ?
I had an appointment at 10 and was waiting for 2 hrs to get my shot!
People need places where they are not judged but can get information and help when they need it.
Its tragic that this place is still open.
Great people providing needed services.
Got a STD test nice people
Horrible place
Very good, and the staff is very friendly, thank you for your services.
