I’ve been a patient here for quite some time and just delivered my first child through them. I had a great experience! I normally see Dr. Adams for my every day GYN care but had the pleasure of having Dr. Rabadiya deliver my baby. Everything went so smooth and I felt at ease the entire time. He is newer to the practice but I highly recommend!
Excellent GYN care and pain management provided by Dr. Adams and communicated by team on calls ahead of procedure.Very efficient and prompt during office visits, as well. Much appreciated - thank you!
Had negative experience with Dr. Borelli. She’s very cold during office visit and at the delivery the way she did was very rough. I experienced 1-2 prolapse after she delivered my third baby. I went to check with Dr. Elliott at 28 days pp as I felt something was off and he said nothing about prolapse even when we asked him and he just referred us to see a PT. At 6 weeks pp check, Dr. Borelli didn’t mention anything when checking on me until we kept asking questions at the end and then she said a few things about what she noticed and referred me to see PT, never mentioned anything about if I can workout. She would probably say nothing about prolapse if we didn’t ask her even though it’s obvious. It’s a shame and sad situation they handled it. I’m in such a better condition now, but went through a very dark time.Dr. Elliott was great and had done a wonderful delivery experience for me during my second childbirth.
Had a great experience with the pregnancy, labor, and delivery of both my kids! They got me in when I needed and worked with me so well. My first labor with Dr. Prather went well and Ive had a great experience with her over the years. Shes great! My most recent birth experience with Dr. Rabadiya was fantastic. I feel he made all the right calls and that led to a smooth labor and delivery experience as well as a smooth recovery. I highly recommend him.
First time mom and pregnancy and this group made it special. Dr. Adams delivered my son and the experience was remarkable.
This practice is phenomenal. All of the doctors are exceptional. Dr. Adams delivered both of my boys and I cant speak highly enough of her skills, bedside manner and calm demeanor. Their front desk will always get you an appointment and somehow they always manage to run on time. Thank you to this practice for supporting me through two healthy pregnancies.
I joined Northern VA Physicians to Women roughly two years ago, and simply cannot speak more highly of the doctors and the practice, both for routine womens health and for their obstetric services. Their office took care of me through two pregnancies, including one miscarriage, and simply could not have done so with more care and compassion. While every provider I met with was excellent, I most frequently received care from Dr. Borelli, Dr. Elliott, and Dr. Prather, and cannot speak more highly of their skill, compassion, and truly excellent patient care.
I cannot recommend this practice enough. In fact, it was recommended to me by family and I’ve since recommended it to close friends. That word of mouth and trust should say a lot.As someone who has had past negative experiences with OBGYNs, I shifted to NVPW early in my pregnancy looking for a place I would feel more comfortable. It was one of the best choices I could have made. While initially apprehensive at the idea of a rotating practice, I’ve seen every doctor there and (though each has their own personality and style) they are all wonderful.Whether for my pregnancy or general exams, I have always felt affirmed and supported by every doctor at the practice. They take the time to talk about concerns and actually listen. Exams have consistently been quick and painless. Their connection with VHC is also a bonus, as all of the care I received there related to my pregnancy was wonderful. If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming, and skilled OBGYN practice, NVPW is the place to go!
Some Google reviews made me apprehensive to schedule an appointment, but I’m glad I did. When I called to make an appointment, the front desk was so pleasant and got me in fairly quickly. In office, the front desk was pleasant and quick. I hate that Dr. Rabadiya doesn’t have more reviews because he definitely deserves recognition. He was very friendly and never made me uncomfortable. In fact, I felt more comfortable with him than I did with my previous gyno. Overall, everyone was so friendly and I’m glad I chose this practice.
My son was recently delivered by Dr. Elliot with Northern Virginia Physicians to Women at VHC. I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Elliot and the whole practice. I had previously lost a child in infancy and had some pregnancy complications and a lot of anxiety. This practice went above and beyond in giving me excellent care and a lot of compassion and understanding for my anxieties. They also do a great job of making sure appointments start on time and patients are properly monitored. Dr. Elliot really knows his stuff, and his expertise helped us have an uncomplicated delivery. Highly recommended.
Today was my second time seeing Dr. Rabadiya and he is a great doctor. They were able to get my scheduled as a new patient pretty quickly. I haven’t had the best experience with GYNs in the past. He and his medical assistants have the best bedside manors. They are friendly and good at walking you through different options and procedures. I originally went in for an IUD but ended up switching the nexplanon and had a successful and easy placement. All around great office.
I cannot say enough good things about the doctors/nurses that work here. My baby girl was delivered by Dr Prather and Dr Adams. The process from my first appointment to the delivery I always feel very informed and cared for. Want to add that the front desk is always there when you call in to schedule or change an appointment, very warm and welcoming, will recommend to my friends for sure.
I don’t understand how this practice has low reviews; I’ve had such a fantastic experience over the past couple of months. The front desk staff is efficient and kind, the doctors help put you at ease and go above and beyond for your care, and I love that they’re open at 8am. I highly recommend the team here and am grateful to have found them!
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!!!! The doctors, nurses, and staff here are all incredible. On my first ever visit to them, I had an ectopic pregnancy, and they were so knowledgeable, calm, and genuinely cared throughout each appointment. They made me feel like I wasn’t just another patient, rather they made me feel safe and comfortable. I had planned on going to another office, but was told they wouldn’t see me until 8 weeks, at which point my ectopic pregnancy most likely would have ruptured. Dr. Prather, Dr. Adams, and Dr. Elliot all saved me a ton of pain and a much more invasive surgery, and I will forever be grateful to them. I highly, highly recommend visiting this office for top care!!!!
Let me start by saying Dr.Adams was the best obgyn I’ve ever had and I regret that I won’t be able to receive her services going forward. i am a single mother of twin 2 year olds so clearly life is hectic. i have been a patient with this practice for almost 2 years and over the past few months I had some financial issues due to life problems: I called the office and explained it previously . i had an outstanding balance of $75 due to missing an appt. i attended another visit on august 22 for 2 pm which I intended to do during my lunch break. i sat in the waiting room for 20 minutes and wasn’t seen so unfortunately I had to go back to work. i tried again for September 7, in which my sons were sick that morning so I called and told them I’d be unable to attend. they assessed a charge and ultimately cancelled my patient care with them. i attempted to reach out to the office manager today and she was extremely rude and condescending! i was honest about my situation as embarrassing as it is and she accused me of not respecting the doctor because I didn’t pay on time. and told me I wasn’t making a good case of wanting to still treat with them because I pointed out that they are an obgyn practice and I would expect them to be more understanding of women and supportive. i explained how I only felt comfortable with Dr. adams and even sat on the phone crying but she didn’t care she stood quiet and told me she wasn’t having this discussion any further. i even offered to pay the full balance to remain seeing the doctor. i am very high risk for cervical cancer and breast cancer and it’s a sensitive topic. i felt unheard and disrespected. i would highly not recommend if you are a women that has any life difficulties , this office does not support the single mother at all.
I had a horrific experience with Dr. Borelli resulting in a missed diagnosis. For the first 6 months after getting off of birth control and trying to conceive I didn’t have a single cycle which can be normal. I knew something was wrong because I had symptoms that I had never experienced before. I had adult acne despite never having it as a teenager and I gained more than 10lbs in the first ten days after discontinuing birth control, gaining more, but less rapidly, the following week as well. My symptoms scared me so I sought out Dr. Borelli. My first appointment was scheduled for a 45 minute consultation to go over my medical history, talk through my symptoms and do a physical exam. After 10 minutes she told me she knew I’d be fine and to just wait it out, don’t try to rush conception and that it would happen when I least expect it - don’t stress. Basically, she thought I was overreacting. The next visit went similarly, albeit more rushed. In preparation for my third visit she had bloodwork done on me but when I went for the visit it had clearly been done just to appease me as she stood in the doorway to tell me nothing was wrong before scurrying off to the next patient. Still trusting that doctor knows best I went back for a fourth visit which was the worst and most scarring. Again, bloodwork was done and again she did not have interest in reviewing my symptoms or helping me work toward a diagnosis. This time, instead of standing in the doorway to tell me nothing was wrong she came and sat beside me. She told me that she could tell that I was feeling impatient and that the stress I was putting on myself to conceive wasn’t healthy (I wasn’t stressing to conceive quickly, I was stressing that at almost 1 year after coming off of birth control I still had no cycle). She continued to tell me that, despite their physical manifestations, my symptoms were all in my head and she recommended therapy. I felt judged, undermined, unheard and disrespected. A horrible combination when you’re expecting a doctor to simply help you.Instead of therapy, I opted to schedule a visit down the hall with Dr. Winterling at Healthcare for Women (10/10 would recommend, sad I moved and was not treated by them through my eventual pregnancy though I LOVE Bloom OB/GYN in DC who cared for me + baby and did ovarian surgery on me). Although Dr. Winterling dedicated 30 minutes to reviewing everything I wanted to discuss, she was able to confidently provide a rudimentary diagnosis within the first 5 minutes of our conversation. Reaching a confirmed diagnosis included medicating me to jumpstart my cycle and then precisely timed bloodwork and an ultrasound. I finally felt heard and within a week had a diagnosis and a path forward. And 6 months wasted with Dr. Borelli.Additionally, Dr. Borelli performed pre-conception genetic screening on me but informed me that, since my husband had done 23andMe health screening it wasn’t necessary to do the more reliable testing. If we had listened to that advice I would likely not have a healthy child in my arms right now as we ended up requiring IVF both due to my diagnosis and to rule out a 1-in-4 genetic condition that we are both carriers for.Avoid at all costs for both health and sanity as well as to avoid wasting valuable time and money. The only good thing to come out of this experience is how I became much more adept at advocating for myself.
This is hands down the best practice Ive been to. I had a baby this past September and I couldnt have asked for a better OBGYN group. From start to finish, I had nothing but great experiences. At the 1st appointment, Dr. Elliot came in the room with so much energy and excitement for my pregnancy which meant so much to me. I saw each of the doctors and every single one of them gave the same amount of care and time at each visit. Dr. Prather was the one who delivered my baby and she was fantastic. She put me at complete ease the whole way. Even throughout the pregnancy, no matter what silly question or worry I had, they put my mind at ease. I cant say enough good things about the doctors, nurses and staff here.
Do not recommend this practice. My personal experience with their staff felt transactional and corner cutting with sub-par quality ( I got a hematoma from a standard blood draw) and I did not feel like they had the best interest of their patients at heart. I left the practice before reaching delivery.
I’ve been going to this office for 6 years, and recommend it to every friend who is looking for an OBGYN. I am not very familiar with the newer doctors of the practice but they were really friendly when I met them. Dr. Borelli, Dr. Prather and Dr. Elliot are amazing and I love seeing each one of them. They’ve helped me through three pregnancies and births. They are great at listening and understanding what the patient wants. They were very respectful of my natural approach and were great partners for births. I also have to mention that years ago, I was nervous about seeing a male OBGYN (Dr. Elliot) but I happily learned he is an ANGEL. Dr. Prather is funny and more quick to the point which is much appreciated when you’re on your millionth check up. Dr. Borelli performed my tubal ligation surgery and did a phenomenal job. She is very kind and smart. The nurses here are also rockstars. The whole practice is like a warm family.
I had a very bad experience with this practice. My husband and I purchased a home close to VHC and so I decided to switch to this practice later in my pregnancy (28 weeks). I liked the doctor I met with very much (Dr. Rabadiya), and was also referred to VHC Maternal Fetal Medicine and very much enjoyed working closely with them as well. I was happy with my decision to make the switch even though I had been apprehensive to do so later in pregnancy. I had a question for the receptionist at NVPW about the frequency of the appointments as I was being seen at both MFM and by them, and was confused about how often I needed to be seen by both. I also asked that with the Covid delta variant spreading rapidly if some of the appointments were more essential than others and if it would be possible to limit any of the in person appointments. A letter was then immediately sent to my home saying that they were terminating me from the practice for denying treatment, which is absolutely bizarre since I had only asked these questions of the receptionist, not refused any appointments. I was shocked and asked to speak to a doctor directly, assuming there must have been a misunderstanding somewhere with the receptionist. Dr. Elliot called me and spoke over me for the duration of the call and did not allow me the opportunity to express my concerns or explain what I thought had to be a misunderstanding, and did not explain why I had been immediately terminated from the practice for asking a question of the receptionist. While speaking over me he gave me names of other practices and claimed my care was a priority,” which seems disingenuous when most practices hesitate to take on new patients this late in pregnancy. I never thought I would be denied medical care for asking a legitimate question about the frequency of in person care during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was a very upsetting experience to have as a patient and to be treated this way as a person, and I would recommend going elsewhere.
This is hands down the best OBGYN practice in the area. I have been to several different OBs in DC and NOVA and no one even comes close. They never make you wait longer than 5 minutes. No appointment ever took longer than 30 minutes from start to finish. The front desk staff and nurses are kind and extremely responsive. The doctors are all top notch. They give the highest quality prenatal care and give me as much attention as I needed. I saw Dr. Prather and Dr. Elliott through most of my pregnancy and I could not be happier with the care I received. Dr. Prather delivered my daughter. She was on top of all the discharge orders and prescriptions I needed. I told her I wanted to leave after only 1 day at the hospital, and she made sure that all of the post natal procedures were done on time. If you are looking for the best docs in town, look no further.
Wow Dr. Kendall Adams was an amazing dr. She made me feel heard, understood, and she made the whole experience very easy and quick. Her kind smile and way of describing what she was doing throughout the check up process made me feel a lot less anxious. If you’re looking for a kind and amazing gynocologist get an appointment with her!
Had my first appt with Dr Borelli and a few other things. The technicians, nurses and Dr Borelli are AMAZING. My concerns were listened to and I felt heard, seen and in control of my medical decisions without judgement but was given all information needed so that I could make these decisions fully informed. Its an hour drive for me but 100% worth it. Thank you, NVPW and Dr Borelli!
Amazing experience! I had horrible severe pelvic pain for months to the point where I could barely work and IV morphine didn’t cut through it and other doctors told me to just deal with it. Once they saw I had severe adenomyosis and I explained why I wanted a hysterectomy, Dr. Elliott did a robotically assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy and he did it PERFECTLY. 2 weeks later and I have zero pain, I’m exercising again, and my quality of life has improved tenfold. I literally feel like I have gotten a second chance at life. Cannot recommend enough.
I have seen Dr. Elliott and Dr. Prather for 20 years. They are both excellent in every way. Dr. Prather delivered my second child. I always feel comfortable with them and highly recommend this practice!
You remember the catty girls in high school who would bully the special needs kid? They graduated at the bottom of their class and became the office staff here.Rude & standoff-ish, the quality of care is severely lacking. They do not care about you unless you’re currently pregnant—if you’re looking for any fertility testing etc I’d suggest you go elsewhere.
Ive had several scares and this practice has helped me through each time. They always have availability, I rarely wait in reception, and they are very kind when I drag along my three kids (no babysitter). Highly recommend! Its just a hassle to park sometimes, as the practice is within a very large medical complex that can get extremely busy. $5 to park in the underground garages, no validation. But thats no reason not to visit this excellent practice!
I cam to NO VA for my annual appointment it was quick and easy. The staff was very welcoming and warm. It was a great experience!!
I came to this practice fed up with my previous one. Im so glad I did! Ive only had positive experiences. The staff are friendly and professional. I dont feel like just another patient here.
I cannot recommend this practice enough! The doctors are all excellent. In addition, the reception team is caring and effective, and wait times are usually very short. I am so thankful to have found this practice, and wholeheartedly recommend it!
This practice is great. Love all the doctors. I delivered two babies at VHC and had wonderful experiences.
Highly recommend Dr Adams!
Very bad service canceling my two appointments without any reason
This practice was like entering a factory.
Very unprofessional staff for it to be early in the morning.
My experience giving birth to my first child was horrible and still (6 months later) keeps me awake at night. Dr. Borelli who I was already felt uncomfortable with during the one check up that she did leading up to the delivery was on call the day when my son was born. I was hoping for Dr Prather or Dr Adams (who are both amazing) on the day of delivery. My blood pressure was high and I was scheduled for an induction. The day before the scheduled induction I came in for a check up - my blood pressure was high as always and Dr. Elliott and at the time Dr Rabadiya scared me so much that I agreed to be admitted. Dr Rabadiya said my baby and I could be dead if I go home. It was a horrible start already. After being induced at some point I asked for an epidural. Dr R made fun of me and was laughing why I already opted for an epidural and if the pain was so bad already (a man who never gave birth said that to me). Labor progressed and the epidural wasn’t working which I pointed out multiple times to Dr Borelli and the nurses. I was told pressure is normal - this was not pressure. At one point I couldn’t move anymore, my whole spine was in so much pain and Dr Borelli placed a suction cup to help deliver my baby, without any pain medication and without much explanation or empathy. It felt like she ripped my son out of my body, I felt my skin tear and it was horrific. My son was born - healthy. They placed him on me and Dr Borelli ripped the placenta out of my body as well. She said she needs to put stiches in - I again said I can feel every stich. She said oh the epidural must not work. Yes it did not as mentioned over and over again! She continued sticking back together my vagina - without an epidural or numbing until I begged her to stop. She told me not to move so much but the pain was unbearable. At one point she gave me a pain medication- the first time during this whole torture. My son was lying on my chest and I will never forgive her for destroying this sacred first moment with my son.The recovery was terrible and took 2 months. I could not walk or sit and it felt like my organs were about to fall out of me.At a check up Dr Elliott said oh I heard your epidural failed did they give you at least a belt? I wish but no they did not.I felt like a piece of meat. I was in unimaginable pain and I am shocked how medical professionals can treat a first time mom like that. I felt not heard and disrespected. It’s the most vulnerable state a woman will every be in and providers should protect them and provide a safe space. I will seek therapy to overcome this and it took me 6 months to write this review. I am so sad that this was the way I brought my son into this world.
