I am deeply disappointed with my experience at UGA healthcare . The staff over the phone have been consistently unsupportive and incredibly rude throughout our interactions. When faced with a significant issue, their lack of sympathy was shocking. It was clear that they had no intent to resolve our concerns, leaving us feeling helpless and frustrated.
I am immensely grateful for all of the professionals here at the UHC. Time and time again they have shown me exceptional care with the exception of one stubborn OBGYN. I would especially like to thank Stephen Hartle for always doing his due diligence and never diminishing my conditions or how I’m feeling. The whole team of staff has never once made me feel like an outsider or like I’m bothering them because they have to do their job. Thank you UGA and thank you UHC.
I have always had excellent experiences at the Health Center within my 4 years at UGA. All the providers (Doctors, PAs, NPs, Nurses, Staff, etc) are very knowledgeable and friendly and they try to get you in quickly when you call. It is very convenient and I have always received great care. I recommend that any UGA student who needs a PCP or is sick go to the health center (especially instead of urgent care)!!
The dental insurance that UGA OFFERS through UHC is OUT of network for the UGA dental clinic. Cmon UGA
Stephen Hartle, Dr. Perry, and Dr. Ellerman & their staff have all been so incredible!!! So lucky to have these resources as a student
Warning!! If you are a recent graduate the health center will tell you that they will service you through the semester after you graduate. BEWARE that does not mean fees will be the same as when you were a student. In fact, if you are on student health insurance they will cover NOTHING. You’d be better off going to a doc in the box and getting covered by student insurance there. Wild that student health insurance doesn’t cover you at the university’s own health center! What’s most surprising is that not one time did anyone warn of this - seems like a major lapse in communication and an easy catch. So like some others have said, good service overall but beware of the surprise bills!!
Called asking a questions regarding testing and the receptionist Becky was very rude stating testing is only given to students. This isnt broadcast on the website so why the attitude... Very unnecessary when speaking with a potential patient.
Ive generally gotten decent enough care here, but the way that the providers are structured is really frustrating. The fact that PAs and NPs are never listed on insurance websites makes it nearly impossible to make appointments unless youre okay with risking have to pay completely out of pocket. Also, using Quest for lab work instead of it being in house has led to multiple surprise bills. Im just not going to the doctor even if I really should because of how difficult it is to get COVERED care at the UHC.
I really like the University Health Center at UGA! The staff and providers are always so friendly during my visits, and they offer a large variety of services which is super convenient. I only wish they had more space for more counselors in CAPS, so hopefully this can improve with time.
Was treated very poorly and the nurses explicitly contradicted prior instructions given to me in attempt to not see me. The people here are very difficult to deal with and I will go to my family practitioner for any issues from here on out. Would give 0 stars if I could.
I absolutely love the care I’ve received from Blue Clinic at the UGA UHC! I had Dr. Lindsey N. as my care provider and she was super friendly, patient, and knowledgable. I really feel like I was heard and my problems were addressed and I’m feeling so much better!
They discriminate against service dogs in maternity ward. Our daughter is waiting to deliver and they informed us that my husbands VA fully trained service dog which is hypoallergenic is not allowed in her room until after the baby is born
So far I have been to the health center three times and have seen a different nurse or doctor (I scheduled it for the earliest appointments, however you can schedule your preferred doctor). I have never been more impressed by the hospitality and the love they have for their patients. I have never submitted a review for any business or clinic, but they deserve all the recognition. The entire staff is very well educated and explains throughly what you have and even show symptoms you might develop based on CDC studies. I especially am grateful for Linda Thurman and Sara Glover, as they make my stay as enjoyable as possible for me and will do anything in their power for me to be a as comfortable and happy as possible.
I have very bad white coat syndrome and have had all my health things done here for the past three years. every experience 10/10. the staff are all really kind, friendly, and helpful and they really care about you as a patient!especially recommend dr perry from the gynecology clinic and dr zaleski from dental!
I made an appointment and the cancelled it because it was 3 days out, and still got charged $20. They weren’t willing to do anything about it. Never gonna bother making an appointment here again because it’s always 3 days or more out… definitely not URGENT.
I have honestly never had a bad experience at the Health Center. I have heard some bad stories from others, but every doctor/nurse/dental hygienist I have encountered has been great. I have gotten flu shots here every year I have attended UGA, and I am always in and out within 15 minutes of my appointment time!
I’ve used the health center for the past three years and it’s always been great, but my experience there today was worthy of a review. I never leave reviews, but everyone at the health center, women’s clinic, and pharmacy today were all amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate me. I showed up about 30 minutes early but was willing to wait around until my appointment, but they bumped me up 20 minutes so I wouldn’t have to wait. Once I got in, Andrea Welter at the women’s clinic answered all of my questions and was so sweet and accommodating. At the pharmacy, I had an issue with my insurance and was willing to pay out of pocket for my prescription, but the pharmacists insisted on calling my insurance company and clearing up the problem. I walked out of there much earlier than expected and was so pleased with my experience and service!!
We were very pleased with the staff at this amazing hospital. Natalie did an excellent job of taking my blood in the lab in spite of my issues with needles. Kim and the nurse (I have forgotten her name but she has personality plus) in Dr Terris’ office were kind, efficient, and professional. My surgery nurse, Bethany, was another five star employee in this healthcare system. Finally, Jasmine, in pre-op has the sweetest little southern drawl. Again, she knew her business, and she had the best disposition. There were many others on this amazing journey, but these were the standouts. Because of the wonderful staff at this hospital, my surgical experience was enhanced ten fold. I felt well cared for and confident of a positive result throughout my outpatient stay. Very highly recommended! Thank you!
If I am able to see my primary care physician, then the experience is 5 stars. Mara Franklin is the bomb - so thorough, never acts rushed, very friendly and comprehensive. This is somewhat of a contrast to the other doc I have to see when Mara isnt available. Otherwise, the other staff are generally very friendly and the convenience of having a doctor on campus is just awesome.
Dont go here-go to urgent care or find a different primary care provider. I have gotten bronchitis twice because of a lack of action on their part. Twice I have gone in with what starts as cold, they tell me just to take Sudafed, and then the inflammation has spread to my lungs causing bronchitis. Mind you, my colds had never progressed to bronchitis until I went to the Health Center because my former primary heath providers always gave me something to help fight it. I have gone in with a hernia, and they said Dont exercise until it goes away, also it will never go away on its own. They did not inform me surgery was needed. I had to figure that out on my own. And the last, most awful cherry on top, I went in needing counseling. They made me take a mental health test, and came back with Wow okay so youre really anxious and depressed, too bad we cant see you. Thank goodness I wasnt a suicide risk, but imagine if someone that was thinking of self harm came in and got that answer? The University of Georgia Health Center is trash.
I will start off this review by saying that my issue was not with the service that I received from the center. If you have insurance DO NOT come here. I have 2 insurances therefore, I usually do not have a lot of charges out of pocket. Due to the incompetence of this staff, I had to fork over so many hundreds of dollars out of pocket because they cannot file insurance correctly. I cannot even talk to the first person on the phone about my file because it is so twisted and mucked up. My last appointment to this place was in February and I am still fighting with this billing center. They blame my insurance, but I have NEVER had this issue ANYWHERE else. Please avoid this place at all cost. It will cause you a headache in the long run.
I love my experience every time I go here. The doctors, nurses, and staff are always friendly and helpful.
Staff is friendly, and the doctors take time to know your history. Most of the time, they will give you details about your problem, and give you best suggestions. If you have proper insurance, this place is not too expensive. Co-pays are usually not that much. Its clean, not too crowded or noisy. You can ask your doctor to get a massage therapy if you need it. It rolls for 6 weeks, if I am not mistaken.
UGA Health Center is a really good place. They always respond promptly with the best solution for their patients. I recently visited the Dental Clinic, and had a wonderful hassle free treatment and guidance. They have a really good staff.
As a Parent, I feel absolutely wonderful knowing my son is in GREAT, EXPERTISE hands at UGA Health Center AND PHARMACY! Its been a long 2 weeks and leaving my son after this is not going to be hard, THANKS To Dr Natalie Russo, All staff/nurses/the pharmacy staff! Although its been a rough, scary two weeks, I owe it to Dr Russo that I can return home(4+ hrs away) Wednesday, knowing hes in great hands! It means so much to a mother to know this! Thanks so much UGA Health center!
Went in for my 1st covid shot. Great experience from start to finish. Well organized, professional, efficient, friendly. This was at the end of a long day for them so it would be so easy to be less than stellar. Not there, cant say enough great things about their efforts. The staff there are definitely elevating the G! Go Dawgs!
Bang up job from the lab tech today! I have tiny, rolling veins, and everywhere I go they have to dig to get one. Not here, and not with her! One stick and she was in and out! Best experience Ive ever had getting blood drawn.
Angela Allerman at the UHC Vision clinic and most of the optician staff at University Health Center vision clinic are so incompetent & rude . They repeatedly mixed up my eyes test reports and still showed me attitude!
UGA health center is a safe space ally for people from diverse backgrounds. Once at UGA, definitely get your health check up and other health services.
The massage department is great! I have been using them for years, and they were such a help with my neck pain that I began having after an accident.
Do not go here for any dental work. Two crowns from here failed within 4 years and the tooth was so poorly worked by them it necessitated extraction.Only the teeth UGA worked on have caused me trouble.Do not go here.
James Gibson conducted very unprofessionally. Attempted to give a medical diagnosis and after I got a second opinion he essentially told me to get bent.
Doctors and staff are very nice, informative, and professional. Every time I have been here I have had a great experience, and for the most part they are all very informed.
The staff in the vision clinic have been always super friendly and helpful when I had some problems with my glasses.
Super-organized and friendly staff. The Chick-fil-a customer service experience for COVID shots.
They are nice for most of the times.Just remember to make an appointment before you visit. They hate walk-in patients for some reason.
The dental clinic is amazing! I love the staff there. I’m sad that I can’t come see Dr. Z anymore!
Doctors are very helpful and kind !! . Nice place to go if you are sick
The doctors and staff are always very kind. I will be going back again soon.
The lady on the phone was extremely rude and had an attitude.
Staff are very professional and friendly.
Misdiagnosed me twice
Great place
