Grateful to RBA and the surgery center for fantastic care in my 2nd egg retrieval yesterday. I have a severe needle phobia where sometimes I faint with IV’s and bloodwork. This is all a new journey, as we have just started the IVF process in January, but advocating for yourself is key in this process. I informed my care team with Dr Best that I would like a Valium ahead of egg retrieval for my IV and graciously were able to give me one. This caused me to go in calm and not have an anxiety attack before the retrieval (unfortunately happened last time). I am so grateful for such caring nurses, Mary and Jada in the sure ward & Savannah & Chrissi with my care team, who treat me with dignity and care — who work with me as an individual and never make me feel silly for asking for help to feel more comfortable.Although this journey is difficult and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, I am so thankful to be at a clinic who I feel truly cares about me.
I love this location of RBA and I have been to 2. This location is the farthest from my home, but it’s my favorite. I’m usually in and out with no problem and I absolutely love the customer service. My favorite receptionist is Ms Tonya Webb. She is always so friendly and helpful. She greets the customers with a warm smile and enthusiasm in her voice. She attentive and makes you feel welcomed. Tanya and the rest of the staff is worth the drive
Please please please don’t go to RBA if you value your money, time, or sanity. They don’t take insurance. They will not return your phone calls and I have spent countless hours fighting with their horrible phone system. A big part of this process is setting up numerous appointments but good luck getting any response. They will refer you to team members that won’t call you, answer your calls, or return voicemails for days. They will set appointments with you with only 1 persons lab results back so that they can charge you for 2 appointments and this is just my personal opinion but it seems like they push you toward the most expensive and invasive treatments. I cannot express how much I regret using them.
Dr. Toledo is very friendly and personable. He took his time answering all of our questions and explained all of our options. He was able to get us seen for bloodwork that day even though we only had a consultation scheduled. The portal/app RBA uses is extremely helpful and allows for realtime updates straight to your phone. I’m very happy that we’ve chosen RBA and Dr. Toledo for our fertility journey.
Hate to be writing this review because Dr. Toledo was amazing! But we had an absolute horrible experience here and will not be returning. The ball was dropped several times with my case. No one knew what they were doing, telling me different things every month. Charging me when I should never have been charged. I then asked to speak directly with Dr. Toledo to fill him in on everything that has happened I was told he didn’t haven’t anything for months….and that I would be charged another consultation fee even though I am an established patient. I was told many things that were not true, nurses were rude and short. It’s a shame because I loved Dr. Toledo. I really hope they can get it together because something needs to change and I don’t know how else to get my point across besides writing a review.
My doctor recommended this place and gave me a voucher for a consultation. I called to make sure I could use it and uploaded it prior to the consultation. They charged me the full amount and did not apply the voucher. I have been trying to get this corrected with billing for over a week. I would like to think this is a mistake but the longer it goes unresolved I’m starting to think it might be part of unfair and misleading marketing tactics.
I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with RBA. From the beginning to the end of my fertility journey, they were communicative, understanding, sensitive in hard situations, and uplifting when hope was running thin. As a result of their expertise, I gave birth to my first son this past March. Without them, he would not be here, and I am eternally grateful for the joy they have brought our family. I cannot recommend Dr. Best and her team enough. I will be returning to them when we are ready to expand our little family.
Had a very poor experience at this clinic seeing Dr. Straub. I would not recommend him to anyone as he was cold and callous throughout a very emotionally difficult journey. We went through the process of two egg retrievals and had no viable embryos. After the second retrieval, we were told that no eggs were mature and we would have no embryos for the second time. I then inquired about billing given there were no eggs to even try ICSI so I was wondering what would be reimbursed since they did not have to cover costs of ICSI or embryo development. The next morning, we were told that an egg miraculously matured overnight so they decided to proceed with ICSI. This embryo did not further develop but we were stuck with a full charge. After these two failed retrievals, my wife was told that she should look for an egg donor as the results would never be different. No discussion of alternative regimens, or ways to better afford another cycle. I told Dr. Straub we would be seeking a second opinion and instead of wishing us luck, he told us thats fine but the results would be the same wherever we go. I am typing this now as I am looking at our newborn son in the bassinet. We were started on Menopur at SGF and my wife had a much better response. Also she researched jobs on her own that have progyny insurance and we were able to afford this cycle at a fraction of the cost. I do not recommend this practice secondary to shady billing practices and lack of compassionate care. Also, if you have poor outcome at this practice dont give up hope!
I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Erin Lewis. She took the time to understand, diagnose, and implement a treatment plan with clear expectations. Anytime I had problems (and I did have issues that arose) her team swiftly answered my questions and helped me find a solution. The front desk is always so sweet and her nurse, Karen, has to be one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Thank you so much for taking care of me.
I’m just starting and may not continue, Dr. Shapiro is amazing but the whole admin team and nurse staff needs to be replace. The money received from all of this should be invested into paying for quality people especially while dealing with something so sensitive as trying to conceive. They fail to bill my insurance when my insurance pays for 80% of this and since they field on their end (admitting it) they expect me to eat the bill. I head that this is my only options for insurance choice because I would definitely choose another company.
I have nothing but great things to say about Dr Lewis and the nurses who support her. She is a proactive listener who really cares about each patient, tailoring to the patients needs, and is very aware of all conversations held by herself or her staff with the patient. Sincerely appreciate everything you have done for us!!!
Our experience with RBA Fertility was deeply disappointing. Unfortunately, the level of disorganization we encountered was concerning. Initially, mistakes were attributed to a new nurse, but similar errors recurred during our second time, indicating a systemic issue. I would strongly advise seeking fertility care elsewhere to ensure your time and money are well spent.
I am giving 2 stars because I love the staff and Dr. slayden. I have been with RBA a few years and I am returning for our 2nd FET. It is pure greed to charge a “cycle coordination” fee when patients are already paying an exorbitant amount to fulfill their dream of having a child. The way they have quietly rolled out this fee with zero communications being sent out shows that they knew how this change would be received. If I pay a co pay to receive a medical service, it’s is out of this world crazy to charge a fee to coordinate a prescription and give a protocol. This is something that was included in my last FET and it should remain that way. I feel as though I am now being held hostage because as much as I wouldLOVE to leave RBA, I have embryos banked and lord knows what they will charge to move them. I would not recommend RBA to anyone due to the way they nickle and dime their patients.
Dr. Lewis and Dr. Slayden are excellent (I’m sure the others are as well, just haven’t seen them). They are personable and take time with you. Dr. Slayden will also always make you laugh!
Go to ACRM. Somewhere, anywhere else for fertility treatments. I wish I’d never set foot in this clinic. We came to RBA after two unsuccessful ivf cycles at acrm, hoping for a different approach to our treatment. At ACRM, I was assigned a care team and a nurse that I came to know extremely well, who walked me through every step of the process, showing nothing but care and compassion. My experience with RBA was very much the opposite. I had a hysteroscopy procedure and they didn’t give me preop instructions. They demanded payment in full for our ivf cycle before they would even send a treatment plan. Everything was done over email or the patient portal, which wasn’t working properly at the time. Every step of the process had me in tears. They ordered my stimulation meds late. I had to spend days on the phone with the pharmacy making sure they arrived in time. They constantly mixed up details of my treatment and didn’t seem to know what was going on. Every appt was transactional. The ultrasound technicians were cold and rude. On the day before my retrieval, I was told by a nurse, not my doctor, that a fresh transfer was not possible due to my estrogen levels. We came to the clinic specifically to attempt a day 3 transfer. A few days after my retrieval, I got a call out of the blue by another nurse saying my transfer was scheduled for the following Monday and asking if I’d been taking my progesterone, which had never been ordered. She didn’t know why someone would tell me a fresh transfer wasn’t possible. I was obviously distraught and dr shapiro, when I spoke to him a week later, was apologetic. Our eventual transfer of our only frozen embryo didn’t implant. Over the course of my treatment, we determined that I was contacted/treated by over ten different nurses and still couldn’t tell you what one of them looked like.Fast forward to now - I had a spontaneous positive pregnancy test after years and years of infertility. Went back to the clinic for a blood confirmation on Monday. They called with my positive results, saying everything looked fine and to come back on Wednesday for a second blood draw to make sure numbers doubled. I went in on Wednesday at 7:30 am. By noon, I still hadn’t heard back and was in nervous anticipation all day. By 3:30, I messaged the patient portal and got an auto reply that the office would be unreachable until Monday, for the Thanksgiving holiday. No one ever called to tell me my results. But, they had time to upload them to the patient portal labs, indicating my hcg had dropped by half and I would eventually have a miscarriage.
Very kind team and the communication is amazing. Thank you so much to Dr. Lewis and her stellar care team for helping us on our journey!
Initial appointment got canceled because health history forms were not completed, after taking off from work to go to it. But within their portal, there is nowhere to complete the health history form… Also my wife had to do everything even though she will never be coming to this doctor.
We loved Dr Best- our fertility outcomes were great and she was a delight. Unfortunately we can only rate 2 stars given the huge headache it was to work with the RBA admin team. It was like a part time job coordinating with them. Secret fees up to $1000(!) sprung on us hours before a scheduled procedure that were not flagged in our financial consult, missing medication orders (happened at least 5 times that we went to the pharmacy on the date scheduled but the order wasn’t there), impossible to talk with someone on the business side, refusal to coordinate with our insurance… ugh!
Worst experience ever despite being on time for my appointment I was bypass ignore what’s the point of writing your arrival time down if you ignore it,let any alone felt my concerns was ignored when I brought it up the front office. I felt discriminated and it was truly a feeling i would never want to experience again . If I can give a zero star review I would’ve done it but sadly you have to put a star to even be able to post your review
Dr. Lewis is super sweet. She took the time to really explain our situation and next steps for me and my husband. We felt great knowing we had a game plan to try to start our family. The facility is very clean/modern and the staff also were very nice and accommodating. When coordinating everything the staff have been very responsive - Jordan is great!
The Piedmont location is the best location!!!! Every time I walk in, I feel like Im greeted by family!!! Thank you for making this stressful process less stressful.
RBA seems like the place to go!! From phone calls, the prelude app, to meeting in person the staff is always so pleasant, professional and very informative.
We were excited to start with RBA… that was until we had to deal with RBA’s billings department. We are covered. Verified by both RBA and our insurance yet RBA still has not sent over authorization verification to WIN. After escalating we were able to get a new estimate. Week 3 and still waiting. Needless to say as much as we wanted to have Dr. Shapiro help us with our journey we are working on getting our files transferred.Beware… if you call you get a voicemail. If you use the app no one responds. If they do respond and you call them back you another voicemail mail. This is not a company who care about the customers experience. The process is hard enough.
My experience wasnt great. I called and scheduled a new patient appointment. I had to download app and fill out forms and all went well. Then, one day I received an email asking to fill out a consent form at 3:36pm. At 4:10 that same day, I was called and asked to reschedule because Ive failed to fill out the consent forms and therefore my appointment was canceled.I understand that there was time sensitive information necessary to the process but I believe that it was not my fault but someone else in the office who failed to email me the information/ link but did so at the very last minute in order to pretend everything on her side was done. Unfortunately I do not want to reschedule. This office seems unprepared, unorganized and unprofessional. More than that, caused me enough stress and wasted my time even if for a week.
I started my fertility journey at RBA because I thought I had chosen one of the best fertility doctors and ended up leaving for ACRM. I am so glad I switched! When choosing a fertility clinic, its not just the doctor that matters. Its the insurance department, the scheduling department, the nurses, the systems they use for communicating, and the women that do your bloodwork and tests.Below are the reasons I left RBA and was unhappy.1. No instructions for post IUI - except dont drink. In contrast, ACRM provided a handout with instructions and more details.2. Had to wait 3 months for follow up visits with my doctor. In contrast, ACRM proactively scheduled appointments to ensure you meet with your doctor at the right time.3. Bad portal for communication. Nurses never answered my questions. I had to send 3-4 follow up questions to get 1 simple question answered, and even then, they didnt answer my question. This was VERY frustrating. In contrast, ACRM nurses always answered my questions. If it was something complicated, the nurse called me.4. Unable to provide success rates - in contrast ACRM shared what I could expect for a success rate on IUI vs. IVF to guide my decisions.5. Insurance department claimed it was my responsibility to submit a claim (this is untrue). Then, when my insurance provider corrected them, RBA said, oh - we didnt know you were coming in for an IUI. However, it was clear in their email communications I had an appointment.6. Women who did my pre-tests were not particularly friendly nor warm. In contrast, everyone at ACRM was so friendly and nice.7. I was sent videos to watch with instructions that were not applicable to my treatment at all.8. When I asked questions like whether I should do the trigger shot or not, the response I got was, if you want vs. an explanation of why I might want it, and why I didnt need it.9. It was very common to send a question to the portal and not get a response until the following day. In contrast, ACRM always responded day of and within a few hours.10. When I went in for an IUI, I heard the doctor outside talking to the nurse about her kids while I sat their waiting with my sperm sitting on the counter.Big picture, RBA wasnt horrible - but if you are deciding on fertility clinics, Id recommend ACRM instead.I was so worried about leaving RBA to go to ACRM, and Im so glad I did!! ACRM is much better organized, way nicer, the nurses actually answered my questions, and I felt like they were proactively trying to get my pregnant vs. me having to fight to get my questions answered and me having to fight to get the doctors attention and help.
My husband and I just recently started our journey with Dr. Lewis as a consultation. She did an amazing job listening to us, providing knowledge, and treatment options for our next steps. I would definitely recommend Dr Lewis because she is highly knowledgeable.
STELLAR SERVICE!! I needed an outside monitoring appointment and this facility was able to get me in within 24 hours of my request. Super accommodating and communicative. When I arrived the staff was phenomenal. Very personable, discreet, and quick. I was in and out quickly. I would not hesitate to come back should I need to.
First time at RBA Sandy Springs location. Staff were friendly and kind. Wait time was great. Van was polite and knowledgeable. Dr. Daniel B. Shapiro is knowledgeable and professional. He gave my husband and I so much information and were happy to start our journey. #weprayforamiraclebabysoon This is just the beginning.
My husband and I had nothing but wonderful experiences in our 2+ years with RBA! My husband saw Dr. Witt, and I was under the care of Dr. Toledo and his team the entire time.We cannot thank the entire team enough for their care and dedication. From the kind ladies at the front desk, to the extremely kind ultrasound techs, to the nurses answering our endless questions, the financial department helping us navigate making the best use of what my insurance would cover, the lab techs who were always so kind, gentle, and charismatic.Dr. Witt took great care of my husband during our time at RBA. He was very patient and knowledgeable, answering my questions about my husbands diagnosis and treatment plan. He performed surgery on my husband, and I felt completely comfortable with the team caring for my husband during his surgery. He even called us personally that night to check in and make sure his recovery was going well.Dr. Toledo is such a kind soul with a great bedside manner. He helped alleviate so much anxiety during this process, and I knew that we were in great hands in his care! He never gave up on us even when I wanted to give up, and thanks to his expertise and instincts we are now blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby boy on the way. He was our doctor for my second egg retrieval, and made sure to be the doctor there for our embryo transfer as well. There are not enough words I can put together to thank him for everything he has done to help us during some of the darkest moments of our lives. We now have so much hope for the future!Thank you to everyone at RBA for what you do! It is not an easy field to work in, but I truly believe it is the calling of those who work in this office. We will definitely be going back to this office for future fertility treatments.
Believe the bad reviews, having been to other fertility clinics, this place is just awful, and it costs the same or more than better alternatives like ACRM. We used RBA for IUI and regret it.- They do not provide a clear treatment plan with all the steps, medications etc., so you should expect to have to reach out to them constantly asking what’s next.- Reaching them is difficult, they don’t usually answer the phone so you have to wait for call backs, and they regularly shut down their phone systems hours before they are supposed to close.- They don’t add all your test results to the patient portal, and often don’t bother to call you with the results, so you have to wait and wait and then reach out to them to find out what happened.- Most of the people in their office are grumpy, with a few exceptions.- They are VERY pushy about using trigger shots with IUI, even if you would rather just ovulate naturally. (They probably get a kickback for prescribing these?). They even push you to take one when they can’t do the IUI at all!- They have a calendar in their patient portal, but it’s 50/50 if things are added to it, some appointments are added, others aren’t, some medication and testing days are added, some aren’t, and it changes each cycle, so is clearly human error.- They don’t tell you (or don’t check?) if your cycle coincides with an office closure, so you will pay for and get into a treatment cycle only to discover they can’t even do the IUI because they are closed! This is very obvious based on the timing of the cycle and they could easily warn you ahead of time.- They forget to prescribe medications that should be part of your treatment plan.- They don’t inform you of extended office closures, you will just find out when you try to contact them.If I could leave zero stars I would.
Dr. Toledo is great, and the clinical staff has been great too, but the billing experience this place offers... I would not recommend on just the billing experience alone! BE PREPARED TO DO YOUR OWN BILLING WITH YOUR INSURANCE AND TO FIX ALMOST EVERYTHING THEY DO. WATCH YOUR EOB AND CHARGES LIKE A HAWK! I have had to fix their mistakes to the tune of $4000 just since may. Its only September. They tried to bill me $4000 more than they should have. When I got it corrected, MYSELF with insurance, they treated me like i just dont pay them and like they didnt mess up. Then they send you a bill 6 days before a surgery and tell you its due the day before the surgery or you cant have said surgery, even AFTER you started the medication for the process! They cause more stress than they do good. I should not have to call my insurance to fix billings mistakes. They have 1 job and totally failed at it. I have cried more about frustrations with billing than having trouble conceiving. I really wish they didnt only have my only 2 embryos, and theyre in their possession.Edit: The billing manager called me. She wouldnt listen to my complaint about how they messed up my billing in the first place until finally she says well my girls arent specialists. Theres your problem! I have a billing and coding degree, it can be confusing if you dont know what youre doing. Her response to me saying I shouldnt have to fix THEIR mistakes with my insurance was well, thanks for working YOUR OWN ACCOUNT. Its your insurance, so you should fix it. She kept saying to pay your bill, pay your bill. Then she asked if I could pay at least the surgical deposit (my 20% of the surgery). I asked her how much it was, and she said $1700. I said you might want to look again because that is the total bill youre saying I owe. She said, No, your surgery deposit is $1700, and your bill is $1366. I told her she was wrong and needed to look again. She puts me on hold and comes back with, I read the notes wrong, your surgery deposit is $280, and your total bill after that is $1366. So are you going to pay it? That sentence right there should tell you all you need to know. If the manager doesnt know what shes talking about, how can her department...She also stated that she didnt see a bill in her system for $5000 and that I would have to upload that if it existed. I have all the bills they sent me one that says $3200 and another that says $5000, is she saying that they dont keep a record of the bills they send out? How can any account be accurate?Again, I do love Dr. Toledo and his nursing staff and nurse practitioner. Even the girls at the front have been good to me , but this billing team is a heck NO!Edit from 10/10, I have started my embryo transfer process and again, nursing staff AWESOME. Billing.... I spent 3 hours at work while on 3 way with insurance, to figure out why they were charging me for a surgery that I did have but they never submitted to my insurance. I spoke to several very rude ppl, one of which told me to stop crying because its not that serious and another that wouldnt even speak to me, only the insurance lady. Mind you, i have to have this surprise bill paid by the end of their business day (2:30p), in order for them to send the medication and my transfer schedule that was to start the next morning... That particular lady kept lying and saying that I speak to everyone there, ALL THE TIME. The insurance lady even had to stop her to tell her she was being very rude, inappropriate, and unprofessional. She ended up telling us to talk to someone else and hung up. I promise, the only time I call is to get an explanation on a bill that they have messed up. So if theyd like me not to call, maybe they should start getting some stuff correct. I shouldnt even say call because they can not be reached via phone. You have to message through the portal. This has been a nightmare!
Thanks to RBA, we have three beautiful children. We tried two other IVF clinics over 5 years of our life with no luck; a third doctor at a rival clinic in Atlanta even told us that she thought it was impossible for us to have children at all. Thank you, thank you, Dr. Shapiro and RBA. You are miracle workers!
I feel that this place is a scam, they push trigger shots on you, they do not provide clear instructions for your cycle, getting in touch with them is difficult, and their level of service in the office is very poor.I have done a successful IUI 2 years ago to conceive my daughter, unfortunately the doctor I used was very busy and so I decided to try RBA instead. That was a mistake. My experience with them has been stressful and upsetting, 2 things that are very bad when you are trying to conceive. The first time I did IUI I did not use a trigger shot, they just let me come in for the IUI when I ovulated naturally. On my first cycle with RBA they didn’t give me a clear plan for the process, so I had to keep reaching out to them to ask what the next steps were. The actual appointments were OK until the IUI itself, when I was left in the room alone, undressed for an hour, while the sample sat out in the room with me. I was there so long waiting that the lights turned off and I had to awkwardly get up and wave my hands around to make them come back on. They also neglected to prescribe progesterone, which I later found out (from a different Doctor’s nurse) was supposed to be part of the IUI process. They were also very certain that I should use a trigger shot, and didn’t want me to just come in when I ovulated naturally. Of course after all this, the IUI was not successful.Despite the problems, I spoke to RBA and they assured me the next cycle would be better, so I decided to try again. The 2nd cycle of IUI it turned out that the timing meant the day I would have the IUI (using a trigger shot) was Christmas Day, and they are closed so they are unable to perform the IUI. They did not inform me of this at all, despite the fact that based on the timing it was definitely going to happen if I needed a trigger shot, which they always say you do. I found out they were closed when I tried to send a message to them and got back a reply saying they were closed until the new year! This cycle was also very unclear, they didn’t bother to walk me through the steps or add everything to the calendar, so I had to reach out multiple times again to find out what the next steps were. Despite the fact that they weren’t able to do the IUI, they were still very pushy telling me to take the trigger shot and use timed intercourse. I am quite certain they are getting a kickback for these trigger shots, especially since the specialist pharmacies that sell them are very pushy, calling you multiple times to order the moment they get the prescription.I didn’t take the trigger shot because I really don’t like doing it, and without doing an IUI it seems pointless. I ovulated naturally on the next day, so would have done the IUI on Christmas Day either way, regardless of the trigger shot!
Do not waste your time here. I was referred by my OBGYN almost a year ago. Fast forward today I ended up with nothing but additional bills, no success and terrible communication among Dr. Rubin, the nursing staff and billing office. This clinic made me feel like nothing but a number, leaving me feeling defeated in this monumental, extremely emotional, and life-changing process. Our focus is you could not be more untrue. Thankfully I recently got a referral to another doctor/fertility clinic and my doctor completed my retrieval within a few weeks of our first visit. I wasted almost a year of my time, money, and sadly likely many potentially viable eggs during that time.
We received a free consultation voucher from our ob/gyn to use at RBA. We had one telehealth meeting with Dr. Straub who despite the meeting being over zoom showed up almost 15 minutes late with absolutely no compassion or tenderness to our situation. As far as bedside manner goes, Dr. Straub seems to possess none of that. Thankfully, we learned we had conceived naturally just 4 days after our consult with Dr. Straub. I was so relieved we wouldnt have to work with him. Its now been almost exactly 9 months and I am 36 weeks pregnant. Out of the blue we received a bill for $145 for our free consultation. In the time that has passed RBA has changed their online patient portal so I have no access to prove that I received a voucher for a free consultation. Today I spent almost 30 minutes on the phone with the billing company to try to resolve this issue but because RBAs office closes at 2:30 pm I will have to try again tomorrow to speak to customer service. The last thing I want to be dealing with near the end of my pregnancy is trying to get a bill removed for a service I wasnt happy with to start completely under the guise that it was free. I am now jumping through hoops to rectify this situation and needless to say I am angry about the entire thing. I do not recommend using this service if you can avoid it.
Update: its been since October 2023 now Jan 2024 and I am still having to go back and forth with the business office because they didnt submit my insurance claims correctly. Then sent me a bill, had I not done my due diligence I would be paying out of pocket for their mistake or laziness....They will make you pay for PGT testing when it is NOT required. I was told by the young man that sent me my estimate that I HAD to pay 2100 put of pocket for PGT testing inorder to start treatment. I later learned he told me this false information. I had a choice to do this testing and now they will not refund it back to me. Theady whom I talked to was rude and said oh well. I would not go here they only care about money.
The RBA doctors and staff are some of the most incredible people. They are so caring, patient, responsive, and thoughtful. During such a difficult journey, they really made us feel supported emotionally, physically, and financially. Our hearts go out to anyone who is searching for fertility, and we highly recommend RBA as the place to go.
Worst possible place ever! The fact that people are spending thousands of dollars and yet it’s merely impossible to get someone to answer the phone. phone lies will say you’ve reached then during closed hours and it’s 11AM on a Wednesday.God forbid it’s while your ovulating. I initially chose RBA due to location. But quickly learned that I was constantly chasing them for appointments, feedback, next steps. They were just SO unreliable. The coordinator lied and continued to lied about reaching out. After wasting multiple months with them and my last appointment with the doctor. I realized, this is not the place I want to go on this journey with. The doctor was cold and did not care to answer the question to my concerns, rather state that doesn’t matter since your doing IVF…. After taking a break and speaking with friends. I learned about CNY! The response is immediate the people are soooooo pleasant everything was presented immediately. I even revived my portal login and instructions immediately unlike RBA which till this day they still never explained what my credentials were. Complete night and day! I highly recommend staying away from this place if your going through IVF. It’s an emotional process and RBA does not care.
This is a shady office who would bill you non stop after a service that was done the year before. After I paid them for what they asked me last year, I was surprised with another copay this year. And they told me, hey, by the way, this is how much you owned us. Not wanting any issues or my credit damaged, I went ahead and paid another $413 lump sum that they demanded. Then the week later, I received another bill for the same service for $1242. Since I don’t have unlimited supply of money, I called them and asked them how they came up with the amount and what is included in the amount. Ms. Paul in the office told me kindly that they were free to bill me however much they felt like and that was my responsibility. It could have been $2900 or $5000 or $10,000 if they felt inclined to do so. Posting this so everyone knows of their practice and how you would be treated.
I have been referred to this clinic, I read most of the reviews and despite feeling skeptical about them I decided to move forward.I have done my IVF with Dr. Lewis team, never met her in person only the video consult with her. My IVF was unsuccessful but considering the success rate I was not surprised by that , but what made me give them 1 star and if I could give them 0 star I would have , was poor communication with me and the medical team , I often had to keep sending them messages on my lab results and appt time etc , also the fact that my estrogen level got super high (more than the target level) and they still told me to continue the injections for 14 days makes my wonder about their competency. After my failure results and taking to Dr.Lewis I brought up the fact that my estrogen level was super high (>2500) she said if I try it for the second round she would give me less doses of injections, which I decided not to more forward and now 6 months after my IVF failed trial, I’m diagnosed with ER/PR Breast cancer which I’m very suspicious it was the result of IVF and getting very high doses of Hormones considering my age and no family history of breast cancer esp at age 41.Besides that I’m still getting bills from them 6 months later and when I called their office and talked to them some of the bills were submitted to my insurance and it was paid by my insurance but for some they send me the bills instead of my insurance and I also found out the out of pocket (>3K) portions they made my pay prior to my IVF was never used since my insurance paid the cost but they never reached out to notify me or pay me back so this place is very incompetent and I would not recommend it to anyone.
I have to give a special shout out to Dr Toledo and the staff at RBA. just a few observations regarding some comments. please be an advocate for yourself. Ask questions! Get more info! Follow up if you are waiting on a response and too much time has passed by. I am sure they were tired of hearing from me via voicemail or the portal app, but it was important for me to know what was going on throughout the process. Before rba implemented their current portal app (which I do like), I would call the office first thing in the morning, leave a voicemail, and most times, someone would call me back the same day. No they dont answer the phone immediately... they probably have so many patients to keep track of, and making sure they have the correct info pulled up before speaking to a patient is critical. In any case, The portal app is much better than leaving a voicemail because you can get a response rather quickly when you send a message to the team.I have NEVER had an unpleasant experience with any of the staff, and I have been an rba patient for 2 years. From Dr toledo, to all of his nurses (kudos to Vann and jennilyn), the front desk staff, the surgical center team.... all of them have always been friendly and professional. Dr toledo always made sure to answer any questions i had during our appointments. I never felt rushed with him. Now I am deducting one star due to some bumps along the way with the billing/insurance dept and some of the logistics. But they were able to help us, which is all that matters at the end of the day. I will be forever grateful to rba!
I have nothing but amazing things to say about Dr. Shapiro and his staff at RBA. After 2 years of trying to conceive, we consulted with Dr. Shapiro, and for the first time, felt like our concerns were being addressed. He was caring, but also extremely attentive and went into great detail to explain every process. Any questions I had were addressed through messages in the portal. I just cannot emphasize enough how much I loved the entire staff. We finally welcomed our baby to the world in July 2022 after one round of IVF. None of it would have been possible without this amazing team. Thank you to RBA and Dr. Shapiro, we are forever grateful for you!!!
I had an awesome experience at RBA. Dr. Lewis is so nice and very knowledgeable. She helped me feel comfortable within this process and I look forward to my fertility journey with RBA.
Im very disappointed in the storage fee going up. My husband and I struggle with infertility 12 years and the first year the price was fine. If your facility wanted new updated equipment that should not be on the patients. Inertility patients already have to go through enough this is very disappointing because it almost doubled. I mean IVF patients already dont get a lot of support if any from insurance companies.
Very disappointed with my experience on DR Rubin’s care team. I can’t really speak much for Dr Rubin herself because we have had minimal interaction which was not what I was expecting. She seems knowledgeable and nice, however I do not get to interact with her. The communication flows through her care team which are very absent and disconnected from my case. Every time I call with a question or request I get a different confusing response, nobody cares to follow up on me, they failed to schedule me for things repeatedly , they don’t explain test results, etc. I was not expecting such lack of care at this clinic , especially for how much money we spend and given the reason we are here for. They have made me cry repeatedly and added so much more stress to the process by not showing much interest or care for my case. I am in the process of switching doctors, even though it’s wasting so much precious time and money .. for this reason I would not recommend the clinic or dr Rubin if you can afford to go somewhere else. Not to mention their billing department is unreachable, I’ve tried to contact them for months via phone and messages and they simply do not reply.
Dr Shapiro was incredible! Great energy, extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of IVF and was very thorough in our consult. He took ample time for questions. We have done two rounds of ivf at another facility that were unsuccessful and he quickly pinpointed what could be improved and done different to be successful. We left feeling encouraged and confident and excited to get started under his care. We can’t express enough how impressed we are. Hearing about his background and experience we know we will be in the best hands.
We just started with RBA and the nurses, doctors, and staff is incredible. However, the administrative/business office staff has been quite the letdown. We were given a voucher for an initial free consult with RBA. We set everything up and told the person we spoke with that we had a voucher. They told us to bring it to the appointment. Mind you, we had a virtual first appointment, but we did what we were told and told the doctor about it on the video call. During this time, they had just switched to the Prelude app for their portal, and it wasnt working right. The doctor had to call us and send us the link to the video appointment because it wasnt showing up in the portal. Regardless, we were able to have the appointment and, like we were supposed to, notified him of the voucher. We received a bill for the consult, and we inquired about it. We have been told that nothing can be done because our insurance has already been billed (even though it isnt covering anything). We were told that it had to be uploaded to the portal for it to be honored. No one told us that. No one mentioned that. And now, we have an extra bill we werent expecting because of a mistake their office made. When I asked if they could adjust it somehow, I was told no because it was too late. I just dont buy that. People are billed in error all the time. Aside from that, I have been told to reach out to the billing manager. I have called many times, and no one has picked up. You have to leave a message, which I have, and I am still waiting on a callback. This is not a good indication. This process is stressful and emotional enough without the added stress of having to chase people down to try and fix an issue that was created by the office to begin with. I am not impressed so far and am doing this review as a caution to anyone out there.***Update***I was contacted by the office manager, and they have agreed to accept the voucher.****Update #2 on 3/14/2023****I had to add more because we are still in the process. We have a billing issue and have reached out to the billing department several times in an effort to get it resolved, and the billing department is still not helpful. They show ZERO compassion for patients when help is needed with billing. Its about the money and how they get their money, and thats really all they care about. The doctors and nurses are great, but the billing staff is horrible. I have asked to speak to the billing manager yet again, so we shall see if that gets us anywhere.
After having an absolutely horrible experience at a local fertility clinic competitor, I found my way to RBA after a close friend of mine had such a wonderful experience. I’ve been a patient off and on for a couple years now and, while I never expected our journey to be this complicated, I couldn’t ask to be in better hands on this journey than with the staff at RBA. I don’t just feel like a number, there’s a team of doctors collaborating and willing to jump in to help, and so many of the staff understand this journey personally. No clinic or experience is going to be perfect, but even in times that haven’t gone 100% perfectly, my care team has always stepped right up to make it right, even when I’ve been a demanding and difficult patient. This is such an emotionally charged thing to go through and the support and care I’ve been given by Vann, Jenny, Dr Shapiro and Toledo through it all is truly one of the driving factors that helps keep my hope alive for our own success. I can’t thank RBA and the staff enough!
I have been with RBA for maybe four months and they have been nothing but amazing! They’ve found so many things that may be the reason of infertility within a short period of time and I’m forever grateful! Dr. Toledo and his staff are exceptional and top-notch from the front staff, the nurses to the doctor himself! I was at ACRM before this and switched because I didn’t like how they were communicating and I am so glad I chose RBA because they have been heaven sent!
This service is such a disappointment... they called on a Friday at 3 pm while their office closing at 3:30PM to inform me that my appt. That is scheduled for Monday needs to be cancelled for I cannot see an NP. Meanwhile, appt. Was scheduled weeks ahead, new patient forms completed. They were not willing to accomodate, after I from informed the young lady that I already requested time off from work for this appointment. Do not recommend their services. You dont know how long a woman waits to see a provider, plan and for people to call and cancel last minute is very inconvenient, while I am a understanding person, but accomodate your patients. Beyond frustrated.
Dr.Erin Lewis was pleasant to talk with for my initial consultation. Very knowledgeable and up to date on current practices and procedures. I look forward to starting my fertility journey with her and the RBA staff.
Getting to talk someone or even getting a call back is impossible. The clinical team ignores messages, voice messages and you never ever end up talking to anyone if you call. Its a pricey service, the least one can do is to treat patients with respect.Dr Lewis is nice but cant say the same about the clinical team.If you want to have a good communication system with your doctor , this is not the place to go.The nurses especially rachel and mikaela are the worst as they won’t even give you nurse consult and assume you have all the knowledge of medications and expect you to do the run around. inefficient lazy people staff this place. they will only send you videos and happily wait till the last moment before you . btw NURSES WILL NOT CALL YOU AND ONKY MESSAGE VITAL MESSAGES CRYPTICALLY ON THEIR PORTAL. i am 5 days away and i still haven’t gotten any nurse call. i am scrambling to get the prescription meds information because they won’t publish it before your period starts and they have gone through your results. NO PAPERWORK ON MEDICATION. DO NOT WASTE TIME——-lessons learnt:- best way to contact is prelude not phone. it may be only one partners message will get through- finish assigned modules which is the criteria for nurse consult . no one will tel you that so be proactive- protocols appear on ‘patient uploads’ , their IT system is not so cool
My doctor with RBA is Dr. Straub, he has been amazing through this entire journey so far. I trust him and is straight to the point, which I like. Dr. Lewis preformed our egg retrieval and she was also amazing. Delivered above and beyond and explained things very well. The nurses and staff at Starubs office are so friendly and personal. All of the people I encounter for surgery’s are also very nice. I really don’t have a negative thing to say about this clinic or anyone I have encountered along the way. Infertility is a vigorous and stressful journey and honestly, everyone here is a little ray of sunshine through it all. Thanks RBA!
Dr Erin Lewis was very knowledgeable! She listened and made me feel very comfortable with moving forward in my journey to conceive! She truly cares and shows that she is compassionate in helping others build families.
One of the worst medical journeys I think I have ever been on as of now. It is already costly and stressful due to having to use such a doctor, yet the biggest concern is simply the work ethic of this office as a whole. I will keep working with them as we are so far along in the process and will update my review as we see if anything improves. As of now I would suggest finding another office to take this journey with, bc we are so close to giving up on them and kids, which is shocking that I am saying this. You dream of kids and yet this office slowly has foreshadows that this may not be the journey for us; simply bc they are so unprofessional.
Honestly I would like to wait to review this office but I am fed up with trying to work with them. First we got the run around on our first appointment and ended up having to just go to the office to get any help. Our one virtual appointment with Dr. Toldeo was pleasant but when it was time to follow up and get tests done upon my wifes first cycle, we couldnt get a hold of anyone and numerous messages went unanswered. It doesnt matter if the doctors are decent if you can never get a hold of a person at the office. Really makes you feel unimportant.
They might be decent but you can’t reach them. The number on their referral form doesn’t work and the number for the office just directs you to a website to fill out a contact form where they claim they will call you in 48 hours. You can’t schedule over the phone or online…I am asking my PCP to refer me to another clinic.
Great results, plus they run a very impressive business. The only practice I have ever visited that wont waste their clients time by having them wait endlessly in their waiting room. They tell you to let them know if youve waited more than 15 minutes, but we never had a problem with them not being on time. This is not one of those jam pack the schedule as tightly as possible practices, which made us feel like they respected our time too. The Drs seemed much more in tune with their clients than other places where they need to look down at a chart to remember your name. Just very impressed, would highly recommend.
While Dr. Slayden is wonderful, I can not recommend this practice based solely on their business office. I’ve called, left voicemails and emailed multiple people over 25 times in the last 3 months about a refund I’m due on my account. Not one person has answered the phone, returned a voicemail, or returned an email. And my refund is still nowhere in sight. Why does this office never, ever answer the phone or email? Very poor management. Also, the ultrasound tech has poor beside manner for an IVF clinic. At my first appointment I was getting an ultrasound. I told her that I already had 2 children and she laughed and said, “are you sure you even want more?” This was very insensitive to me as a grieving mother just coming off of my fifth miscarriage. Not the time or place to be making those kind of jokes for sure...Update: after I posted this review, the office did reach out and fix my problem. They were kind and professional. Apparently the phone number and email on the invoice, neither were correct (however, one email I was using I know was correct because I had a long email chain from her, including confirmation of a refund due, but after confirming that refund, she never replied back to multiple follow up emails). I’m changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars, because my issue was resolved, but it took dozens of my hours to do so.
Unfortunately you are another number on their system, the humane part of this company is non existing. When it came time to decided if we were doing IVF with them.. we couldn’t make the decision of going with this center as definitely we notice we were just another another number on their computer, We couldn’t put our hopes and all of this money $$$$$ on a center that wasn’t feeling right for us.Scheduling testing for my husband was a mess, and they never gave him his results back.Trying to get the transcripts of history of results was almost imposible for his test and my multiple test, the images were never given to us, after multiple request. Not recommend at all.Their billing department is a mess, I paid a bill already twice.. distracted me paid the bill twice (they can see the credit) and still asking me to paid my bill again.
Our experience with Dr. Toledo, his staff, and all of those we came across through our care at RBA has been nothing short of amazing. Dr. Toledo is an awesome provider who really cares about his patients. His nurses and assistants all work together, pleasantly, to provide excellent patient care. Because of their care, we are now expecting our first babies! We are very appreciative of the RBA team!!
If I could I would give ZERO starts to this clinic. I had a televisit with one of the doctors which cost me $270 that was going to be paid by my insurance because it was an authorized referral. Well, Reproductive Biology Associates refused to bill my insurance and made me pay the full $270 out of my own pocket. They stated that THEIR policies do not allow to bill my insurance because I do not have the coverage, however, my insurance was willing to pay the bill but they never received the claim from RBA. What the heck. I ended up paying almost $300 out of my own pocket for a 15-20 min televisit. I wish I was joking. Also, I tried to contact them when I received the bill and somebody said they were going to call me later that day and I never received the call. I had to message them twice to receive a phone call to clarify the situation. If you want to avoid any billing surprises stay away from this clinic.
Best of all in Atlanta!!! positive energy. Superior consideration of patient!!!!
Dr. Lewis was absolutely wonderful. Her bedside manner was very soft, she was very informative and most of all, so caring, understanding and delicate as we tackled on options of next steps in our family journey. She answered every question honestly and openly, and was absolutely incredible. I would recommend anyone to her!
I just had a consult with Dr. Lewis for fertility issues. While Dr. Lewis is amazing and very thorough and explains everything well.Their clerical/admin team is horrible! No one ever answers the phones! my very first appointment I was suppose to receive a link for virtual consult but I never received it so I tried to call day of my appointment to let them know but no one answered my phone, I dialed every office number and every option but no luck until Dr. Lewis herself called me 5 mins after my appt time and sent me the link. Now I am trying to schedule a follow-up appt for my blood work and of course NO ONE ANSWERS!!! THIS IS HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PATIENT SERVICE! I will be finding another office that actually answers phone calls.
Dr. Shapiro is so down to earth & genuine! All of his office staff were pleasant & my spouse & I were greeted many time while there. Definite 10/10! 🤩🤩
I experienced with Dr. Lewis was very pleasant. She answered all of my questions and gave me information that put my mind at ease. I wish I had the opportunity to meet her in person; I know it would have been even more better than it was on the video call. I have the feeling that Im in good hands with Dr. Lewis.
Dont even bother calling this place. You will not get a response. You are better of going back to your doctor and asking for a different fertility clinic. It has been an absolute NIGHTMARE with RBA. You leave voicemail after voicemail without a peep from them. If for some reason you do get a person on the phone, they tell you you have to fax or email something in and they would call to schedule your appointment then. Guess what, NO return call weeks later. A 0 star rating is the appropriate here but unfortunately that is not an option.
Great docs but admin up front could have a little less attitude
[edited to 1 star due to the response but when i reached out, noone cares]The staffs are friendly but the not-transparent services are very disappointed. I called multiple times to confirm the payment and fee and was told that zero cost will be charged when I schedule the bloodwork and ultrasound. I showed up at the office and was told i’d charged regardless all the confirmations from their officer over the calls with me. Someone from business office came out and explained the charge and gave me a document (they said they sent me over the patient portal) and even in the document, no fee is stated to be charged until all the bloodwork and ultrasound are done and i’m at the Consulting stage which i am not there yet.I said i didnt want it and they said i still got charged no matter what because i already talked to a doctor and it was considered my consulting session. Not sure how this works but they should be upfront about this and it’s not professional and honest when someone from the office said one thing to get you to schedule an appointment and when you showed up, someone else would say something else trying to make you pay.I would not come back or use the services here. What a disappointment!
My husband and I were referred to them for further treatment in our journey to become pregnant. We had a video appointment first and the whole appointment consisted of Dr. Slayden telling me ways to lose weight and how important it was for me to get the Covid vaccine. He suggested I join weight watchers or “find a group of women who are also wanting to lose weight and walk together!” He told me “there is just something special about a group of women working in losing weight as a team!”. He also told me that “I had this one patient who was over 300 pounds and she had a healthy and safe pregnancy when she shouldn’t have”. Just because someone is over weight does not mean they deserve any less medical care than someone who is thin. If you are struggling with infertility and also struggling with weight loss this is not the place for you. When I provided feedback to the nurses on why my husband and I would not be coming in for further treatment, we got an “Okay! Have a great day!”. They do not care about their patients and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
After a long 8 years of infertility we went forward with Ivf at RBA. We saw Dr. Slayden and his nurses Liz and Shelby. They were all AMAZING. We had success with our first embryo transfer and have more embryos if we try for a sibling. Thank you so much to RBA for making our dreams come true.
Fyi, if you have morning appointment for egg retrieval then center opens at 6am. Sperm specimen will be taken at 7am. Dont be confused about the timings mentioned on consent form. Our appointment was at 7am so we were at center around 5:50am.It was a good experience. Staff is very kind and was explaining everything.Thank you staff nurses and doctors for helping today 😊
So far having a horrible experience with Dr. Rubens team. What kind of place is open for business but never answer their phone? You can call at any time and receive a voice recording telling you that they’re only open from 8:30 to 12:30 bc they go on lunch break from 1-2 and stop returning calls at 3. So they’re only open for 4 hours but for those 4 hours u still receive an answering machine and then their still not available at 3. It’s very weird and unfortunate that people want to believe in their services but are treated as if they’re not important. They never return calls and it can be months before they even think to reach out. Definitely looking for another place as this one is a waste of time. I was recommended by someone to come here but she had her success years ago. Obviously this place’s staff and integrity has changed since then.
Let me just say that I am shocked reading some of these other reviews. All I have to say is Dr. Toledo and his staff we’re great when we went through the process. Yes we had a hiccup or two with specific staff but let me tell you everything was taken care of. I had a successful IVF the first round after 3 failed IUI’s. I would not be a mom if it weren’t for Dr Toledo and his staff. We had great service during the scary and expensive process!! This experience was in 2017, so I can’t imagine how tough this is during this pandemic! So thankful for RBA!!
I wish I didn’t have to write this, but I feel it’s appropriate to get it out there. I have done a few cycles with RBA as a donor. I had a pretty good experience my first time around, but a lot went south the past cycle.I came out of my procedure not feeling well at all (keep in mind, this was my 5th cycle as a donor, and my 2nd with RBA, so I know what I’m supposed to feel like after a procedure). I expressed my concern to the nurse, who just tried to push more pain meds on me and then sent me home. No more than 2-3 hours later, I call the doctor who performed my procedure and told her that I was experiencing not one, but ALL of the symptoms (heavy bleeding, nearly unbearable abdominal pain, clotting, dizzy, nauseous, etc.) on the list that says “call the office if...”. She said “that seems normal, you can come into the office for an ultrasound tomorrow if you want”. So I decided to take my doctors advice and wait. Fast forward an hour later and I’m having a seizure on my bathroom floor, and my fiancé had to call 911. When I explained to the ER doctor what happened, she said that RBA took entirely too many eggs. I almost needed blood transfusions, and a potential surgery to remove my left ovary. I had to do bloodwork every 6 hours because I was bleeding into my abdomen/lower chest cavity. I couldn’t breathe, I was in extreme pain, and I kept feeling like I was going to pass out. I was hospitalized for 3 days, and RBA called me and my family numerous times to remind us that this was “normal”. Then RBA had Dr. Shapiro call me, and he compared my scary hospitalization to a man who passed out after getting his blood drawn. He completely insulted WellStar by saying they have no idea what they’re talking about, and kept trying to promote North Side. OH, and now my credit is being destroyed by all of the hospital bills and ambulance bills that RBA claimed they’d pay, but haven’t. Go anywhere else. They don’t care for their donors, you’re just a product for them.
We had been seeing piedmont obgyn in jasper, ga and after the doctors there were rude, disrespectful and plain out morons, we decided to take our business elsewhere. We had appointments with ACRM, the doctors there were nice however their lab dept was out of network with our insurance company. Per our insurance, we had to be at a center of excellence in order to use our $35k in infertility coverage. So, we decided to try Dr. Straub at RBA. Let me just say, he is hands down the best doctor we have been to and seen during our 2 years of ttc. He was very proactive in our treatment being very aggressive in actually trying to help us achieve our goal of becoming pregnant. Our first appt. was June 30, by August 1st we were going in for blood work and ultrasounds to see follicle growth. His course of action for treatment was and is Phenomenal!!! We had our first iui on August 10th! The only thing I wish I could change about RBA is I wish we would have made an appointment sooner and avoided ever dealing with piedmont obgyn and I wish that Dr. Straub could be the one to deliver our baby when we do get pregnant! We absolutely love RBA, the nurses, Dr. Staub and the facility! Our wait time is always under 5 minutes and they are super sweet, caring and all around wonderful people!! Go here, you wont be disappointed! 💜💙
I’ve never had a doubt in my mind about my treatment with Dr. Monica Best! She’s extremely knowledgeable and personable. I’m yet to conceive but I believe without a shadow of doubt I’m in capable hands! Thank you Dr. Best and team!!! I do appreciate your time and help in making my dream of being a mother come true!!
If Dr. Toledo were to do Ancestry DNA, his profile would come back as 99% God! This clinic is our 3rd (and final) stop and they are right when they say the 3rd time is a charm. From the moment you walk in, youre greeted by the wonderful receptionists (shout out to my girl Mary Ellen.) The Ultrasound techs are warm and the Phlebotomists are always so funny & kind. Debbie at checkout is my Southern momma. His MA, Vann is beyond amazing as is his RN- Lindsey who is wise beyond her years and has the patience of Job. She has been such a source of strength throughout our journey. While we are not in the clear yet, and no matter our outcome, Dr. Toledo has given us hope where another doctor, at another practice told us we were bound for surrogacy. As a nurse myself, I find it hard to trust other doctors however with Dr. Toledo and his staff I feel at peace and have the utmost trust and respect.
Such an amazing place! The staff are friendly and doctors are wonderful! The office opens up at 7am which makes in convenient to go to before work and not having to use any of my vacation time! Theres been plenty of times I had to be scheduled the same day and they fit my in with no problems. The nurses kept me informed about all details and always answered all of my emails (which was a lot LOL). Thank you RBA!
My experience thus far indicates that Reproductive Biology Associates has exactly zero interest in trying to do anything within a reasonable time frame.Would you like to schedule a consultation with a Dr? Depending on who it is you can wait anywhere from 1 month to 6 months for zoom call. A ZOOM CALL. If youd like to meet face-to-face, expect to wait longer....Do you need testing, per your doctor, after waiting 2 months for your consultation? Expect to be told that there are no openings for a MINIMUM of 3 weeks.Schedule your appointment and need to change it? You COULD be told that they already foresee scheduling difficulties for your previously scheduled appointment and didnt intend on reaching out to you unless you call them. Again, expect an additional 3 weeks for a new appointment.Need to call to schedule and appointment? Expect to get an answering service no matter when you call. 8:30 AM? They say theyre open but youll get an answering service. 12-1PM? Answering service. 1:51 PM on a Friday? Answering service. So ask yourself this question:Whos time is more important in terms of pregnancy; Reproductive Biology Associates or your bodys? My advice: find a practice who values your time. It may be the most valuable commodity you have when it comes to pregnancy.
Dr. Witt was great. He calmed our nerves, was easy to talk to and answered all of our questions. He was very detail oriented with our options, as well as pros and cons of each. The staff there was also very warm and welcoming.
Dr. Slaydon and all the staff were consummate professionals throughout our whole IVF experience. After a 1 1/2 year long journey, my wife gave birth to 2 beautiful identical twin boys on Monday 3/21/22! RBA helped us realize our dream of becoming parents and we couldnt be more thrilled! If you are reading this review and think that you and your partner will never be able to have children of your own, dont lose hope. I believe that IVF is such a blessing for people like my wife and I that had exhausted all of our other options. My wife has stage 4 endometriosis, had 1 ovary removed in her early 20s, all the corrective surgeries and we were blessed to be able to overcome our struggles and see it through. Just know, when there seems to be no way, there is a way and YOU CAN DO THIS!
My husband I were referred to this facility for further testing. After multiple emails and phone calls over the course of 6 weeks (at least 15 phone calls) still no response. I can’t imagine how horrific and stressful fertility treatments would be in a clinic with such revolting communication skills. Thankfully, we were referred to ACRM, who returned our call within 48 hours and has scheduled an appointment for us this week.
Best staff I ever experienced, the nurse Lacie Bean is simply amazing. She always answered my questions no matter how late or many I sent. I couldnt asked for a better experience. Dr, Best , her name speaks for her work she is great!!
This staff is unorganized and incredibly rude. We have had multiple instances where people tell us incorrect information and leave us in a predicament. We have been on a goose chase multiple times to go to the correct place. One person will tell you one thing and another person will tell you something totally different. We had surgery scheduled for 6am. They told us to go to the 6th floor-in the 6th floor is offices and we beat down the door for someone to answer. The lady who answered says no one comes up here. The lobby attendant said it was his first day and he couldn’t help us locate what we needed.....the email from Jen, the surgery scheduler, states go to south eastern surgerical center. Guess what? That specific name is NO WHERE listed on the lobby directory. We spent 30 minutes aimlessly walking, knocking on doors, talking to any human we passed to get help. No one could help us. I finally called the after hours RBA medical emergency number and she had to put in a request for a call back. I received a call back within 5 minutes and then someone was “magically” waiting for us at the staff door where we had previously been banging on.Flash forward: during pre op, a nurse brought me someone else’s driver license and insurance! Again, UNORGANIZED!Flash forward: I am now in the waiting room and I needed to use the restroom. I walk to the counter and find an older lady with blonde, curly, shoulder length hair and I ask her where the bathroom is (mind you I’ve been walking around for over 1.75 hours now) and she rudely tells me “I am not open.” I said I don’t think your counter needs to be open to tell me where the bathroom is...I walked off and took a seat in the waiting room. I believe another associate heard the rudeness of the other staff and informed her that I was only asking for the bathroom...... the rude lady actually came to find me and told me she misunderstood I only needed the bathroom? But, that was literally the only thing I needed.Again, RUDE and unorganized operation. The ONLY reason we are here is because it is the closest one to our home. I really hope this review can leave an impact and help the staff become more aware of how rude and unorganized they are.
My husband had prostate cancer 10 years ago and we were hesitant to try IVF. Scared about the unknown. Last spring we made the decision to try and with lots of recommendations from friends and my GYN to go to rba. From the start they were nothing short of fantastic. We loved Dr Shapiro from the start. He was very direct and honest and real. The nurses were all so kind and caring. Fast forward to May 8th, we welcomed our sweet miracle, a baby girl. We sure didn’t know what we were missing. We are forever Grateful for the wisdom and expertise these doctors and staff have to make our dreams come true. Don’t give up and don’t lose hope!
I do not recommend Dr. Rubin. Consultation was 15 minutes. Of the 15 minutes, only 7 minutes was a compressed, rushed explanation of the IVF and IUI process. The other 7 minutes was irrelevant and Dr. Rubin trying to correct her mistake by being offensive.-Waiting time was approximately 30-40 minutes-The process was not explained, at all-RBA in general does not have an organized process, despite their length in operation. No price list is provided and their entire staff lacks communication with one another.
I feel terrible for the women that actually had any fertility procedures here. I had an HSG and a follicle count and I felt so uneasy with them, I NEVER went back. You do not get to talk to a doctor nor are the procedures above performed by a doctor.Initially you may think this is a good place but they just do a lot of “fancy” testing and will almost certainly push you straight to IVF without any discussion really on intermediate methods. The facility in Sandy Springs felt cold and the medical staff seemed inexperienced.Even if what they were telling me was correct, I didn’t want any of my services with them.
I have done IVF twice here and Dr. Toledo is literally a miracle doctor! I went into the surgery thinking I would only get 4 eggs but ended up with 14 due to his patience, diligence and compassion. Also Dr. Nagy and his lab team are top notch, they do the best job of taking care of your gametes once they are out of your body. Every hospital/clinic has its bad attributes but the surgery and laboratory teams at RBA are the best of the best. Highly recommend RBA because of Dr. Toledo and Dr. Nagy
I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Monica Best, Dr. Jessica Rubin and Dr. Andrew Toledo of RBA as well as their highly knowledgeable and caring team of nurses, medical assistants and administrative assistants. I was treated with kindness and professionalism every step of the way. This type of medical treatment can be extremely scary and daunting but I felt very comfortable with RBA and their staff. Thank you all so much for your help.
Dr Toledo is a miracle worker. After 2.5 years of IVF, he worked with us until the end to find the best solution and we finally got pregnant and our son was born. His nursing staff is really great as well.
My husband & I had visited RBAs Marietta location back in August. We both had several tests through their office.I had been in contact with both Amanda & Heba in regards to our medical records etc. The two of them were such an Enormous Pleasure to deal with. They were very friendly, professional and never skipped a beat in assisting me.I especially appreciated how helpful they were and seemed sincerely excited for us on our venture. Thoughtfulness like this during the stress of IVF makes All the difference!!RBA has two very amazing ladies working there & I just wanted them to be recognized for their efforts! When speaking to my friends and family about IVF options I will most certainly think of these two ladies and recommend RBA!
My husband and I have been trying to schedule an appointment here for over two weeks. There is one number, and no one ever answers. You leave voicemails, and no one calls back. They respond to one email, but then there’s never any follow up. We were referred here, but definitely wouldn’t be using them. Administration is very poor, so I can only imagine the experience with the doctors.
5 Stars for Dr. Shapiro and the ENTIRE RBA team. They are a pure joy to work with, to say the least. The communication, compassion, and clarity we received during our IUI journey was top notch. We are expecting twins in June, and we are over the moon. A huge thanks to RBA for making our emotional journey a little easier.
RBA is an outstanding practice! All of the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. We had a long and difficult journey and were treated with so much compassion and respect. I am so grateful we found RBA and Dr. Toledo. After a really bad experience elsewhere, we were amazed at how positive this one was even when we had setbacks. I highly recommend RBA.
Absolutely LOVE Dr. Slayden. He is such a pleasure to work with and honestly, I feel he is invested in my overall being. This is my 2nd Fertility Clinic and the minute my husband and I met him, I felt we were at home! His staff is exceptional at the Marietta Office and I cannot recommend Dr. Slayden enough to future patients !
I consulted Dr. Rubin, Very unorganized team, no one will follow up for the next steps, as a patient we need to call and ask, not at all supporting staff. They were unable to do minimum tests, doctors were not at all experienced, though test was not done they forced me to pay the money, and asked me to do similar test, they does not have minimum morals, and they have all old staff, they are not at all supportive, they are money minded , I dont want to give any stars horrible experience.Hope this will help someone and stay away from this place.
Dr. Witt was absolutely wonderful. I was very comfortable with him, I did not feel judged, and all my questions were answered with grace. It was a very positive visit.
Weve been on a two+ year journey with RBA. We switched doctors early on to Dr Shapiro and couldnt be happier with our results. Although our path had many highs and lows, at the end we have 1 beautiful baby and another on the way. Our house is full of happiness thanks to RBA and Dr.Shapiro.
The worst experience my wife and I have ever had. Dr. Brahma was ok, but her nurse Caitlin is as incompetent as they come. Even after we expressed some of the concerns we had, requested a new nurse, nothing was done. We unfortunately had to leave our previous clinic due to the lab no longer being in network. With the IVF process, that can be the most expensive part, so we had to change clinics. We should have never came to RBA.
I wish I could share a better review. I believe the facility has knowledgeable doctors, that work for many women and I just may be an exception, but I do not feel like I was given the utmost care to ensure that my dream of being a mother would come true. I went through 2 and a half IVf cycles that were unsuccessful for me because of my low egg quality, which was not the facilities fault. My husband and I then chose to move forward with using their egg donor program and we were really excited and optimistic for this opportunity. I wanted to use the Frozen Egg advantage program which guarantees live birth and is more money. We were not able to use that option because the selection of donors for that option only allowed us 19 donors to choose from that did not look anything at all like us. We proceeded with the 2 high quality embryo option and were told it was not necessary to do genetic testing because the donors are young. The first transfer did not work because I was not receptive. I had to do a mock trial with an ERA procedure to learn that I was not receptive. So the next and last transfer we were hopeful would work but it didn’t. Also the nurse scheduled me to begin meds during my trial cycle a week too late but thankfully I made the calculation myself and was able to correct them. After this failed transfer, my doctor told me he was disappointed that we had done everything we could to make it successful and it should have worked. But as I have just learned from research scientifically I have a higher chance of conceiving within 3 rounds using genetically tested eggs, so not 2 rounds -3. I have already been through 2 plus a mock trial that consists of painful injections and emotional stress. It’s easy for the doctor to say we can do another try, he is not the one having to go through the heartache and two week wait to see if the transfer worked or the funds I have invested. I believe if I had been able to go into the program using the frozen egg advantage where the facility continues to work with me to achieve the successful live birth or the genetically tested eggs and the knowledge from the beginning that this may take 3 or more transfers to be successful then I could say RBA stood by me.
Horrible experience, Unprofessional doctors, and unreliable.Had telephone conversation with doctor last year in September filled with promises for help. Doctor states I will send you through email papers for blood test. Have not received anything from so called doctor. One year later receive bill for almost $200.00 for a 10 minute conversation.Crooks, do not waste your money.
Im very dissappointed with this company. Their payment portal is a joke. They dont tell you what bills you owe or what bill you are addressing. Their statements give no information on them as to what you are being billed for. The dates on the statement make 0 sense because my husband and I were on vacation so I know I wasnt in the office. Their office hours are awful compared to others in the area. Very very frustrating. My husband and i are both incredibly dissappointed. When I wanted to speak to someone about my insurance information being incorrect it took a month for me to reach the person and the receptionist had to go 2 teirs above the person I needed to speak to in order for me to get a call back. The woman was then very condescending as if it was my fault they got my insurance information incorrect. When it was very clearly not our fault. It was ridiculous. The only positive was the front desk who knew me by name by the time the entire ordeal was over with and were very nice.
Words can not describe the frustration about our experience at RBA. From confusing directions, to misleading diagnosis, it was horrible. The doctor once even drew a picture of my uterus on a post it, instead of showing me the ultrasound picture. He diagnosed me with having polyps which my gynecologist never could find, nor my new RE. So glad I did not have a procedure to have them removed since it was probably a ploy to make more money off of us. Our dr pushed medication and tests that we did not need nor want. Do your self a favor and go somewhere else.
I am a patient of Dr. Bests and have been trying to reach out to schedule time sensitive appts this week with zero communication from the clinical team. This is my last attempt at reaching out before I post my review. Thank you, Ryan Young
We saw Dr.Taledo for a 2nd opinion/reassurance for our next steps. He was very kind and explained how he felt about everything to us. Would recommend him and his company to anyone!
I have been hugely disappointed. Unless you do ALL of their tests the doctor refuses to treat you or speak with you without coming in or paying a fee. I was told that Im running out of time with my blood results but they wont even let me speak with the doctor that ordered the test. If you want to blindly do all their tests and have no say in what is done with you, then these might be the doctors for you.
I am shocked by what I just witnessed. I was giving support to one of my friends who is trying to conceive a baby. When we were checking out, one of the women who worked at the check-out counter named Ms. Savage acted very condescending to one of the clients. It seemed that the client had some concerns but the woman at the check-out, a 60ish older woman with blond wavy hair, did not seem concerned to answer the questions. When we approached her desk, Ms. Savage looked at us and then said a derogatory comment about the previous person in a joking manner. I thought, this is wrong but was too shocked to comment. I feel that the employers and staff at RBA would benefit from sensitivity courses that address sexuality, cultural and religious differences. I hope that she will eventually learn and become a better person.
Tried to call multiple times, referred by the urologist and my wifes OBGYN, no answer and no calls back, as many other reviews state, this place is a joke. Dont waste your time. If you call your doctor they can write you a referral for somewhere else.
I am a patient of Dr.best and her nurse Lacie. They both helped me every step Of the way. I knew exactly what was going on. They were sympathetic to my emotional breakdowns. I couldn’t have asked for a better team.
My husband and I were patients of Dr. Robert Straub and as of 11/15/16 are proud parents of a healthy baby boy. The support, efficiency, caring, diligence, and expertise of Dr. Straub and RBA staff are beyond exemplary. Thank you so much for working so hard for and with us, so we can experience parenthood
This. Place. Is. A. Scam. My wife and I endured the pokes and prods of this place for years and NEVER conceived. IUI, after IUI, after IUI. The doctors and nurses here are ill-prepared for their patients. We spent THOUSANDS of dollars here for nothing. Not because we cant get pregnant, but because the doctors were calling my wife and I in at the WRONG time for our IUI. We were being called in DAYS after telling our doctor we were ovulating. The moment we went to another fertility clinic we got pregnant on our first go around. Thankfully our doctors now know what theyre doing. We couldnt be more heartbroken at the services we were given at this place. It really says something when the doctor you are under moves clinics. Probably due to the Hollywood drama and CORRUPT way of servicing patients who desperately want children. My advice? Follow Dr. Best AWAY from Reproductive Biology Associates. She made the right decision for herself morally and soundly.
The “patient coordinators “ at Lawrenceville took over 2 weeks to give me my results back . And I only did get them after emailing them and calling numerous times . Horrible service , will definitely not be getting anything else done here .
I recently froze my eggs through RBA and had the best experience! Dr. Shaprio and his team walked me through the entire process and made me feel so comfortable. Thank you RBA!!
Strongly recommend Dr. Brahma and Dr. Best. Great experience overall, although the communication regarding timelines and next steps could improve. Difficult being shuffled to different staff people or doctors without a lot of information regarding the overall plan and process.
Had me wait over a week and a half . and i had to call to get my results .they fed me this whole we didnt send it to the right fax number but we have the correct office number to the dr. but they did not take the time to call the dr. office to get the correct fax number . thats not good buisness . only 2 starts because i did leave happy . hoping i never have to go there again.
This place is very commercial (people who work here are very money minded)bad service .. they won’t even provide your blood work results properly .. I had to contact Labcorp directly because I was pretty sure they were providing wrong results.. back then I was seeing this doctor pavana Brahma.. she forced me to use branded thyroid medicine which was very expensive .That medication dint work for me .and she would insist that branded works better than generic.. and she wouldn’t be able to treat me if I don’t use the medication..the day when the staff gave me wrong thyroid results I decided to leave this place ..
Amazing Dr! Amazing staff! Especially his nurse Kristy! We have a beautiful baby boy on the 1st try. Worth every penny!
.whole process is messy .nobody has time. Financial consult has zero knowledge and zero helpful and . Little information in every step would have different result . Extremely frustrating.
Doctor was very knowledgeable, and the wait time was very short. Great overall experience
Today is the first day me and my husband went to see the doctor she is very sweet and enthusiastic thank you doctor
Dr. Toledo is wonderful! We are so thankful for everyone at RBA and for our precious baby boy
Billing us the worst!!!! They are thieves! They didnt verify our insurance until after the appointment and want to bill us 270 bucks! Unless you want to go cash only, AVOID THIS PLACE!
Horrible communication. Lies and deceit. Took a ton of my money, tens of thousands, and I never got pregnant. A waste.
Love this program, as a donor I can say they are professional and care about the health and safety of their donors. The staff is amazing, love the office.
They are very prompt and take their appointment times seriously. The employees are very helpful to each other and you can see that they work well together.
Dr Lewis was very knowledgeable and informative. She has great bedside manner and gave clear advice
Update office hours. You closed at 2:30pm not 3:30 pm according to your voicemail
Been trying to call and make an appointment for 2 weeks now and no one calls back nor do they response to emails. This is a huge red flag and we will be going somewhere esle
Great attention to details. I hope he continues like this every time I come see him.
Love RBA Dr Scott Slayden and his staff are exceptional.
Very disappointed with what theyve done to us. Unsuccessful egg retrieval and difficult to get in touch with staff.
Doctor was really nice and explained everything!!
Great service, they are very attentive.
Very gentle and nice.
Very disorganized and unhelpful staff
Great people!
Dr. Erin Lewis is super fantastic, in my first appointment, she did not explain each procedure step by step in detail, she made us feel very relaxed and confident, she is very professional, I really recommend her if you want to start your fertility treatment;Dr. Erin Lewis is super fantastic, on my first appointment, she explained each procedure step by step in detail, she made us feel very relaxed and confident, she is very professional, I really recommend her if you want to start your fertility treatment;
