In July 2020 in the middle of Covid I met Dr Michael Randell via a good friend. He had me in the OR 4 days later on very early Saturday July morning because my endometriosis was making me so sick. After my surgery I felt like a new person. On November 7, 2020 I took a pregnancy test that we never dreamed would be positive. When I went to his office he was just in awe & I asked why he was so shocked. He said that the likelihood of that happening was super slim in that time frame, I was barely even 5 weeks pregnant. Since I’ve had my daughter my body has not been able to get it together. I recently had another surgery through him, an endometrial ablation. I’m only 3 days out & I can tell a difference in feeling better. There are no amount of thank you’s for you doc, but THANK YOU! He is SO incredibly smart! He has become invested in me because he cares for his patients & we think so highly of him and he’s just so humble. We love you Dr Randell!!!

If youre looking for a surgeon thats passionate about your uterine health, Dr. Randell is the perfect choice. I struggled finding a doctor/surgeon that didnt recommend a hysterectomy, but Dr. Randell promised to explore all options to preserve my uterus. The entire process was super seamless and he made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. I was pleasantly surprised by the minimal scarring and speedy recovery after the removal of 3 large fibroids (11 in total). I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Randell!

Dr. Randell deserves 10 stars! This is the first review that I have ever written because I normally don’t write them. I felt impelled to write a review to hopefully help someone else that was struggling like myself. I read every review online before contacting his office because I wanted to make sure that it was not written by office staff members like you typically see. I contacted his office and Dr. Randell personally contacted me back and we did a zoom call to discuss my surgery needs. I was able to schedule my surgery one week later. I explained to him that due to my occupation, I needed to an appointment soon. He understood and accommodated me. I had the robotic myomectomy surgery on a Friday morning. Immediately following surgery, I was cared for by the nursing staff. The very next day, Dr. Randell visited me in the hospital to check on me and ensure all was well. He is masterful at his craft. I have met with several doctors and they stated that a hysterectomy was the only option. Dr. Randell reassured me that I have another option because I still want to have kids. I also explained that I wanted the quickest recovery and the least invasive option possible. There were only two incisions the size of your fingertip and an incision in my belly button. It has now been 6 weeks and you can’t even tell I had surgery. The care and expertise provided was exceptional. He demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and skill throughout the entire process. All of the symptoms that I had previously are gone and it’s only been 6 weeks! Dr. Randell is truly God sent and I am forever grateful. He truly saved me from a lifetime of pain and depression. I pray for anyone reading this to experience the same. Thank you, Dr. Randell!

I was referred to Dr. Randell by my Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) physician after diagnosis of Ashermans Syndrome and recurrent adhesions in late 2022.  At the preoperative consultation, he was kind, thorough, and sensitive to my journey.  I was able to get on the surgery schedule at St. Josephs Hospital before the end of the calendar year.  Even though he was not in network with my insurance, it was worth every single penny.  During the laparoscopy, he also found endometriosis and removed that in addition to the adhesions.  The uterine balloon was in for one week, and it was not noticeable at all.  His incisions were the same ones I had from previous gallbladder surgery, and he added two lower ones for the pelvic work.  I have even had compliments from other providers saying that he did a great job on them.  The recovery process was excellent - no issues there.  The next embryo transfer we had implanted and grew, and now our beautiful baby has blessed our family.  He helped bring our long journey to an end. Dr. Randell is skilled, and I would 10/10 recommend him to anyone needing gynecologic surgery.  Please let him bless you and your family with whatever your gynecologic needs are.  DO NOT hesitate.Dr. Randell was elated to see our newest family member when we brought her to his office!

Dr.Randell is indeed the absolute best fibroid surgeon In GA and for me the best in the U.S.A! He literally saved my life. I was going to have my surgery done with another doctor and but while In preop I kept hearing Dr. Randells name. I heard his bedside manner with his patient that morning and I absolutely loved him from there. I canceled my surgery, which was delayed almost 6 hours and booked with Dr.Randell. His confidence and knowledge will put you at ease. He is absolutely amazing.I went in to my surgery completely relaxed and ready to get my fibroids out. My recovery went very well. He used 3 tiny incisions to remove my 12cm fibroid and 3 smaller ones. As an RN myself who has researched and watch tons of videos this the best outcome one can have . Also the staff at Emory St.Joseph were absolutely wonderful. From the wonderful tech (I think his name is Randy) who worked me up, to my pre op nurse...excellent!!!

I’ve been to so many doctors to try to resolve my chronic pelvic pain. At least 12 different encounters over 2.5 years with multiple different physicians (at least 6 different OBGYNs). Dr. Randell had everything figured out and surgery completed within about 3 months. He did such a wonderful job; I was walking around day 1 after surgery. It almost doesn’t feel real that I’m pain-free now; it was a pipe dream just 3 months ago. Dr. Randell was thorough in his explanations and answered all questions I had. He was efficient and thorough in his work and listened to my concerns. I truly cannot thank him enough. I would recommend him first for anything GYN surgery related; I’m sending my mom to him next!

Dr. Michael Randell is a god send and came highly recommend from my fertility specialist. He was able to see me at the end of January and get me into surgery a few weeks later. And he was able to save my tubes and remove my cysts, fibroid and everything else that wasn’t supposed to be in there. He gave very detailed information and photos during the surgery and after the surgery and healing was a breeze very minimal pain and scarring. I would recommend him 10 times over. I wish there were more stars to give. He took my insurance and we were able to cover the rest no problem. Everything went smoothly. He is very informative and upfront with the issues and how to solve them. He doesn’t cut corners or mince his words. Very professional and his office is clean and friendly. Had I went to the other doctor they would have misdiagnosed me and cut my tube out smh Dr. Randell is a blessing and a wonderful doctor and surgeon.

From all of my visits with Dr. Randell he has been very professional, answered all of my questions, and gave me comfort in having surgery, especially since it was my first time having an abdominal procedure. He provided the best experience I have encounter from the consultation explaining possible options to remove the fibroids, to schedule the surgery procedure, and following up on my recovery. I also explained to him that it was very important to me to later being a mom and not have any issue. Two years later, that wish came true…on March 1, 2023 I delivered a baby girl 8lbs 13 oz. Best surgeon ever!I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care that Dr. Michael Randell and team provided to me during my recent surgery. His expertise, skill, and professionalism are truly commendable, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have had him as my surgeon. Before selecting Dr. Randell as my surgeon, I was referred to another doctor who frankly scared me into tears with his grim assessment of the multiple large fibroids that I had. This doctor stated that I absolutely needed a hysterectomy and that having an open myomectomy would be a huge life threatening risk. He advised that I would need a vertical incision and he would try to save my ovaries. I asked if there was another doctor who could possibly perform the surgery to save my uterus, but this doctor would not even provide a referral to a doctor that would be open to taking my case, because he thought it was too risky and that my uterus wouldnt be functional. This was devastating news to me, a 37-year old, otherwise healthy woman who is years away from menopause and possibly considering having another child. Fortunately, I did not take this doctors opinion as my only option and sought out better care. This is when I found Dr. Randell. From the initial consultation to the follow-up appointments, Dr. Randell was an outstanding healthcare provider. He answered all of my questions and concerns, and took the time to explain every step of the procedure in detail, which helped alleviate my anxiety and make me feel so much more comfortable. Most importantly, the surgery was a complete success, and I am now on the road to recovery thanks to his exceptional care. Dr. Randell successfully removed 70 fibroids from my uterus -- without having to perform a hysterectomy! I cannot thank him enough for the outstanding work he has done and the positive impact he has had on my life. Dr. Randells dedication and commitment to his patients are truly remarkable and have made a significant difference in my journey towards better health. A hysterectomy may be the best option for some women with fibroids, but I want women to know that there are other options available and to always seek a second opinion (a third opinion even).Thank you Dr. Randell from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done for me. You have my utmost respect and appreciation, and I will forever be grateful for the incredible care you provided!

UPDATE: Not only did this doctor misdiagnosed me, but has the audacity to threaten me in an email telling me I need to take my post down. This country is freedom of speech and I can tell if you have a bad experience or not if I feel like it. So take me to court, sir because I will let the behavior of your staff and yourself be known. At the consultation he was great but when it came time to schedule my surgery things changed. I have excellent health insurance but yet and still he ask me for 4,000+ out of pocket for my surgery. I went to Dr. Lipman (which is great by the way) who insured me that I had met my deductible and owe zero for the consultation and zero for the procedure? So, why were you going to charge me 4,000+ before the procedure? Told me I would possibly have to wait 30 days before I get my medical records. The front desk clerk was extremely rude. In all, it was a very unpleasant experience.

Dr. Randell is absolutely amazing!!! I had a 10 cm fibroid(size of a baby’s head) nestled in the back of my uterus. Other doctor were sure they could remove it laparoscopically...in addition to filleting me along my bikini line due to the placement of the fibroid. Dr. Randell was the ONLY one who was 100% confident from the beginning the he could remove that fibroid laparoscopically through 3 tiny incisions! I drove 5 1/2 hours to have the surgery, went home the next day, and was back at work after just 3 weeks!! I recently had by 6-week post op appointment and Dr. Randell was amazed that you could barely see the incisions!!!AMAZING!!!I don’t care where you live, if you’ve been referred to Dr. Randell go see him!! Dr. Randell is the best of the best! I had a 25cm subserosal fibroid removed via the DaVinci Robotic myomectomy procedure. No other doctor would perform this surgery. They all wanted to cut me open vertically and that was too terrifying and risky for me. I also could not be off work for that 6-8 week recovery time. Dr. Randell was able to remove my fibroid with two tiny incisions and my recovery has been wonderful so far. I knew I could trust Dr. Randell when we had our preop appointment. He knows his stuff and is confident in his work. He is the type of surgeon you want working on you!! He took his time and explained and answered all of my questions I had for preop to my mother and I. I could honestly go on and on about my wonderful experience with Dr. Randell. I was so sad and embarrassed by my big belly from the fibroid but Dr. Randell gave me my quality of life back and I am forever grateful to be one of his patients.

Dr. Randell is the BEST in his field. I recently had a successful laparoscopic Myomectomy (4/22/22). Dr. Randell was able to remove 21 fibroids through 3 small Incisions in my stomach that are very small and have healed up nicely (use mederma to fade scars). I stayed over night and was released the next to begin my recovery of 6 weeks. Once I went in for my initial appointment, we got the ball rolling quickly. Some things to expect are out of pocket fees up front (do not let this deter you from moving forward) if you have insurance you’ll be fine but expect up front cost/fees. Dr. Randell can be blunt/direct (do not let this deter you from his expertise and services). My 6 week post op appointment went very well. Dr. Randell performed an ultrasound and my uterus is clear and healthy. I would recommend any woman struggling with fibroids to consider Dr. Randell to perform their surgery. He has the knowledge and updated technology to perform a quality and successful surgery.

I had surgery in 2021. Dr Randell got me into surgery quickly after the consultation. I had a laparoscopic myomectomy. 7 fibroids were removed. My incisions from the surgery are pretty much nonexistent. Recovery was a breeze, almost no pain. I could do for myself just fine afterwards. I didnt really need the pain pills.Update - while the surgery was easy. The payment/insurance process is a nightmare like other people are saying. It took them forever to even file the claims. I kept having to call and inquire because I needed them to file the claim so I could meet my out of pocket max get my money back from Dr. Randells office. I ended up having to pay $5,000 more than I expected to pay out of pocket to the hospital because their office sent my insurance company a bill for over $90k for the doctors surgery fee and they denied it. I paid the Dr. Randell $5975 upfront which they said they would reimburse to me but they never did because the insurance didnt pay their outrageous claim. The insurance company paid them the standard going rate in this area, which is true. I had another doctor before Dr. Randell and that was how much she charged to do the surgery. I also never got reimbursed for the doctors visits that I paid upfront to the dr. office. They then sent claims to Medishare and they were also paid by Medishare. It has been 2 years now and I havent received a dime. So as a recap, I gave them $200 - $400 every office visit, and $5975 the day before my surgery. They then sent claims to Medishare for each office visit. One claim they sent to Medishare - maybe I came in and had an ultrasound and talked to the doctor about the surgery - They billed for $4573. Medishare paid them $2287. I also paid them $400 upfront for the visit. They have yet to reimburse me anything.I wouldnt recommend Dr. Randell any longer. Im sure there are other dr.s can do the surgery as good as him without the insurance nightmare and paying up front, etc.

Dr Randal told me I needed an “urgent” vertical hysterectomy. So glad I followed my spirit and got a second opinion and received a UFE from Dr. Lipman. Ladies make sure you consider a UFE. It is less invasive (e.g. 1 week recovery outpatient procedure vs surgery) and with Dr Lipman over 90% success (meaning fibroids don’t return).

It has been one week since Dr. Randell removed 11 of my large fibroids via minimally invasive robotic surgery and I feel awesome! Dr. Randell assessed me 10/2021 and he performed my surgery 1/2022. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Randell. Dr Randell is a master of his craft and someone I am so grateful to have found. If you have a fibroid diagnosis that requires surgery, then like me, you are probably concerned with: preserving fertility, minimally invasive procedure, minimal scarring, minimal recovery time, and quality of results. I can assure you Dr. Randell is the one to trust. I bent over backwards getting opinions and flying around the country to meet with surgeons. The whole time Dr Randell was in my backyard in Atlanta. He was calm, confident, knowledgeable and 100% certain he could handle my difficult condition while meeting all the standards I mentioned above. And he did exactly that. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience or better results. Scarring is nothing; recovery was not bad at all; excellent hospital experience and quality of care all around. Plus I had no issues with billing which is the only complaint from all the non-5-star reviews. (Yes I did read them all before surgery.) Thank You Dr Randell!

Dr Randell performed laparoscopic myomectomy November 2022, I will try to be detailed if this can help anyone going through the same issue. My wife had several fibroids with 2 being larger than 15cm, in addition she had a nephrostomy tube from her kidney so we were very concerned about her having a surgery .Dr Randell assured us that he would be able to work around this .Cost: our out of pocket cost for the surgery was 6900(the alternative for my wife was a c-section style surgery with 8 weeks downtime so this cost was a no brainer for us) and i believe insurance refunds some of this amount.day of surgery, we got there at 6am she got prepped and the surgery started at 9am, they called me midway through the surgery to let me know everything was going ok. her surgery lasted about 5hrs since her case was a little complicated.we spent the night at the hospital and left the following day in the afternoon.recovery: two days after the surgery she could walk comfortably and fast forward three weeks after the surgery she can comfortably walk a mile, she had three little scars from her surgery that have almost disappeared, for us this is the best possible outcome considering other surgeons said it was impossible to do it minimally.I believe Dr Randell is the top fibroid surgeon in the country and possibly the world for this type of robotic surgery, we were lucky he was right in our backyard in atlanta.PS I pretty much went through all the reviews i could find online if this will save anyone some time, there are exactly 0 negative reviews on the actual surgery outcome, most negative reviews are about billing ,and this is an insurance issue outside the control of this practice.

I am beyond pleased with Dr. Randell and his staff! I have had fibroids for quite some time and I finally figured it was time to face my fear and get them taken care of. I initially went somewhere else for a consultation and was told due to the size of my fibroids, I would need to be sliced open and expect a 6-8 week recovery time. I scheduled the surgery, but continued to research alternative methods. I scheduled a consultation for UFE welllllll needless to say, my intuition felt like that procedure was BS! Finally I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Randell and cancelled my already scheduled surgery. He was very confident that he could use the non invasive procedure with a shorter recovery time. He also was able to show me my fibroids through ultrasound and MRI. I was previously told by the other provider that I had so many large ones that they wouldn’t show up on the ultrasound. My entire experience was awesome from beginning to end. I just went in last week for my 6week follow up and all is well. Thank you so much Dr. Randell!!! Aka fibroid slayer!!! The local surgeon made me feel like I was a very big deal and would have to do the surgery laparoscopically and have a small c-section as well because my fibroids were so large. That is when I decided to do some research and I am so thankful we found Dr. Randell a few years ago! Dr. Randell a few years ago successfully removed all my fibroids only laparoscopically!! If you want the truth and want it done right the first time, call Dr. Randell.I waited a few months before writing this review to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. When my OBGYN of 10 years (super posh place) advised me that I had 3 fibroids and suggested a hysteroscopic myomectomy for removal, I went with it because the pain and blood loss was becoming intolerable. I woke up from surgery with 2 fibroids removed. Months later, I was still suffering from heavy bleeding and crippling pain. I went back to my doctor to find that I had “more” fibroids and there was essentially nothing that could be done short of a hysterectomy.I shared my story with a friend who worked for a well know insurance company. She insisted that I see Dr. Randell, stating that he was the absolute best at his craft and is a strong advocate for his patients. I scheduled an appointment, which turned out to be in the top 3 best things I’ve done in my adult life.I immediately appreciated his directness and confidence. The guy is a legit genius. Nothing was sugarcoated. He listened to my concerns and investigated my case thoroughly. He removed 21 fibroids from your uterus in addition to removing a few other fibroids during the hysteroscopy. My fertility was preserved. I no longer suffer from heavy bleeding and pain during my periods. To top it off, I have 3 very small scars! Thank you Dr. Randell for helping me to reclaim my life.Again ladies, if you want the truth and if you want things done right the first time, call Dr. Randell.

Dr. Randell has his own practice which means he is the only one that sees his patients and he takes the time needed with each one, so sometimes there may be times you have to wait for an hour but when it comes to getting superb care, 1 hour is nothing and IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH IT WHEN YOU ARE SEEING THE BEST. I know I have spent 3 or more hours watching TV or at events which is not signicant as healthcare. If you are looking for a minimally invasive approach to having fibroids removed or a hysterectomy Dr. Michael Randell is best in the nation. I recommend you see him before losing hope of having a family or having a hysterectomy that requires a invasive approach and longer recovery time.

After seeing a Physician who told me I would have to get a total hysterectomy, I was delighted to learn from Dr. Randell that this was NOT necessary. Dr. Randell thoroughly examined me (Pap, Ultrasound, MRI), we then sat in his office and reviewed the MRI. It revealed that I had at least 23 fibroids, not 6 as the first Physician initially told me. Dr. Randell explained that he would need to do an abdominal myomectomy to remove the tumors and assured me again that a hysterectomy would NOT be needed. He came across very confident and experienced so I decided to move forward with the surgery. I just knew I had found the right Physician/Surgeon! The surgery went well! During the surgery, Dr. Randell discovered and removed 46 tumors instead of 23, so my surgery was 3 hours instead of 2 as we had initially planned. Unbelievable, I know! I would post a pic but its pretty gross. Just glad to have those suckers gone! Anyway, I had my follow up appointment today and I hugged him and gave him a high five for changing my life! No more pain, bulges etc...My incision has healed nicely. My stomach is flat, I feel great and Im ready to get on with the next chapter of my life. Listen, Ive heard horror stories from some women who went through with this procedure with other Physicians and I am so thankful to have had Dr. Randell as my Physician/Surgeon. He is amazingly skilled and gifted to do what he does!

Doctor Randell is seriously a miracle worker!I had an 18cm large, rare and bizarre Dermoid cyst on my left ovary. It was so large that it was pushing my other organs out of the way. Another cyst on my right ovary and a fibroid in my uterus. I went to another OBGYN who told me I would need to be cut open and would never have children. Im only 25 and I want a big family. (Like 7 kids big) We found doctor Randell and from the very first appointment he was amazing. So confident and knowledgeable. He told me everything I needed to be prepared. The surgery went better than expected! He some how removed an 18cm robotically through my belly button! The surgery was very minimally invasive and it doesnt hurt at all while Im I recovery. He somehow preserved my ovary and uterus and I still can have that big family that I want! I seriously thank God for Doctor Randell. What he is doing is amazing. The fact that he specializes in this makes it better. Such a heart for women and not at all like other doctors!

I met Dr. Randell in August 2010. I had many fibroids and was told by numerous doctors that a hysterectomy was the solution to my problem. Some of these doctors were at places like The Mayo Clinic and The Duke Hospital. I rejected their advice and set out on my own to find the solution that I wanted. Dr. Randell was that solution. He removed my numerous fibroids but left my uterus intact! He is an amazing doctor! I thank him every day for giving me my life back.

Incredible surgeon hands down! Ladies going into a doctors office with fibroids is an awful feeling but being in the best possible hands has made that experience much more pleasant. After I suffered from infertility and miscarriage due to fibroids (13 cm) (7cm) I knew I needed an expert and skilled surgeon for this treatment. He is remarkable in the operating room where it matters! The staff helped me schedule everything accordingly and I was in surgery within a week. My insurance covered all hospital charges and any out of pocket expense was more than worth it. It can be stressful dealing with having to get surgery but my advise would be not to hesitate to pay for the absolute best healthcare and dr randell is worth every penny! He did what no dr would do (I had been to many who said my fibroids were too big and had to operate several times to get out or total hysterectomy). 4 weeks after da Vinci laparoscopic myomectomy with little downtime and scarring I feel like a new person! For anybody researching which method of removal for fibroid is a better option, this is it! Dont wait to get those fibroids out, book with dr randell and you will see the difference!

Due to four prior c-sections, I was told by my OBGYN that I would need an open hysterectomy (to address fibroids and heavy menstrual bleeding). I decided to get a second opinion and was referred to Dr. Randell. He examined me and felt that he could successfully perform a robotic hysterectomy. I had my surgery in February and I feel like a new person! The recovery time was minimal, the pain was minimal. I appreciated that Dr Randell was open and honest with me and was more than willing to answer all of my questions. Overall, a great experience!

Dr. Randell did a GREAT job with my surgery. If you have a difficult case, want a minimally invasive approach, and/or cant afford to wait months for your surgery, hes your guy. My regular OBGYN told me shed likely have do a large cut down the center of my abdomen to remove multiple fibroids, including one very high in my torso that was 13-15cm large. She also was booked months ahead.Dr. Randells team was friendly and professional and always got me scheduled quickly for needed appointments. He was able to remove all of the fibroids in one 5 hour daVinci/laproscopic surgery through a few small incisions that are healing nicely. I think they will be barely noticeable in a few months. I was 100% back to myself about 2.5 weeks after the surgery - much faster than the 6+ week recovery time predicted for an open myomectomy.Id put 4.5 stars if that was an option simply because the office seems to always be running behind schedule, yielding long wait times (like most obgyn offices), so dont schedule anything closely after your appt time. His vibe is also less warm and fuzzy that what you might be used to in the south - hes very direct. Not a bad thing, but perhaps not for everyone so its worth noting.

I will advise you to run away from this practice. Went there for consultation, was told that I will have a vaginal ultrasound as well but since I am paying out of pocket, it will cost a total of $285, and it will include the ultrasound. Mind you, I did not go back to the doctor because during the consultation, he shoved the ultrasound into me for less than 2 mins, and said oh, I see another fibroid about 6 cm and that was it. Also he had some trainee doctor in there without my consent and was more interested in telling him this is how its done. I have had about 4 vaginal ultrasounds before and after and no 6 cm fibroid was found.I did not go back because he was pushy about surgery and kept telling how hes the best. I was scheduled for an mri at American Health imaging but I did not go since he was out of network and I was advised by multiple people, include other medical doctors not to go back to his practice. I sent an email and canceled my next appointment with dr randall. Months later I get a bill from my insurance with a claim from Dr Randell for $10350 for services rendered. I called insurance to find out what ludicrous service this amount was for. They were unable to reach billing, which is obvious why. Insurance obviously refused to pay them anything. They are thieves and Im going to make sure they dont get away with this.I went to another doctor and successfully performed my laparoscopic myomectomy with no complications. He is the most gentle and caring doctor who is not after your money in anyway. His name is Nathan Mordel.

I have no regrets and have recently recommended my sister. He is pricey because he is out of network. I just had surgery this past Friday (2/17/17). Dr. Randell is a genious! He is very knowledgeable and direct. Yes, I am sore and swollen, but it is to be expected after surgery. It took 6 weeks or more to feel safe enough to walk from the couch to the kitchen with my previous surgery. I know other reviews complain about office wait times and such....however he is the #1 doctor in the world for this type of surgery, so I personally dont mind the wait. He is very thorough and really takes the time to explain the procedure, fees, what to expect during and after surgery, etc. He even called me on a Friday evening and spoke to my husband and I for almost an hour because we had additional questions. He is simply the best!

Dr. Randell has been my doctor since he performed a robotic myomectomy on me in November of 2012. Back then I wasn’t sure if I would ever have children but knew that if I did I would want to have them naturally. After ending up in the emergency room for severe abdominal pain just a couple of months before my wedding and being told that I had numerous fibroids and would have to have a myomectomy which entailed not only being cut open from hip to hip but also never being able to deliver a child vaginally I was devastated. That’s when I started searching the internet for other options and came across this amazing doctor. Not only did he successfully remove all of my fibroids by performing a minimally invasive robotic myomectomy but knowing that I might want to have children one day he made sure not to enter the uterine wall thus giving me a fighting chance for the future. Fast forward 5 years to 2017 when my husband and I decided the time was right for us to start a family. Even though Dr. Randell no longer practiced obstetrics (which was hard for me to accept) and wasn’t covered by my insurance I still went to see him for my pre pregnancy screening and then when I got pregnant in December of 2017 I stayed with him all the way through my first trimester until he couldn’t see me anymore and I had to find another doctor. Finding another doctor was terrifying especially having had a myomectomy. Unfortunately in today’s obstetric culture c-sections are a dime a dozen and most doctors don’t want to bother with the time or risk of vaginal deliveries. I knew I would have an incredibly hard time finding someone who would give me the chance to deliver vaginally. I finally found a doctor who I thought might give me that chance, but after a consult and file review he said he would not be willing to deliver me vaginally. I told him I didn’t understand why and explained to him that the doctor who did my procedure delivered many patients vaginally after this surgery. I guess he must have had a moment of remorse for my situation as his nurse called me a few days later and told me that if Dr. Randell would be willing to write a letter stating that if he were still practicing obstetrics he would not have a problem delivering me vaginally, then he would allow me to at least try. Well not only did Dr. Randell write a detailed letter but he also took the time to speak with my new ob for over an hour in an attempt to convince the doctor to let me deliver vaginally. Once he was done with my new OB all that the new doctor could say to me was “after talking to Dr. Randell for over an hour he wore me out and I will let you try to deliver vaginally, however, you’re on a short leash.” Well in August of 2018 I naturally delivered a beautiful healthy baby boy!!!!! None of this would have been possible without Dr. Randell! He is worth his weight in gold!!!!! If it wasn’t for him not only would I have never been able to get pregnant with the fibroids that I had but I would not have been able to have the delivery that I had hoped for all my life. I can honestly say that there are not many doctors left out there who not only truly care about their patients but are willing to standup and fight for them.

Dr. Randell is fantastic as a healthcare provider, but unfortunately, the quality of service from his office and billing staff has become terrible. I have had Dr. Randell as OB/GYN for a few years, including through the delivery of one of my children. . He is very knowledgeable, straightforward and you can feel confident in his care. However, his new office staff, their poor service, smug attitude, and horrible communication make the patient experience terrible.I was not notified prior to my appointment (although I had corresponded with the office both my email and phone) that Dr. Randell no longer had a contract with BCBS, and that my office visit would cost me $150. When I said I could not pay that on the spot, they offered to go down to $99 and when I asked to call back and reschedule my appointment they wanted to charge me a $35 day of cancellation fee which was ridiculous. I have never owed Dr. Randells office a dime, have always paid my bills on time, and to be be so poorly handled was terrible.Quality service is more than just from the medical provider. The patient experience begins from the point of initial contact. Unless Dr. Randell upgrades his staff I will never go back and would advise others not to as well.

I found this Doctor on Google last year when I found out I had fibroids. He was said to be the best, so I booked the appointment. I found him to be cocky but then again most doctors are. The initial consult was around $400. I ended up still paying it and scheduling a myomectomy of which I paid out of pocket more than $7000 for as I wanted to have children and this was important to me in the long run. During the post op the doctor was extremely rude to my mother who was asking questions any parent would. He would respond saying things like “well if you just let me finish I was going to get to that.” It was off putting to say the least. When I went back for my post opp a few months later they wanted to again charge me the appointment which was stated to be included. When I refused to pay the office secretary tried to charge me a cancellation fee of $50 when I was standing in the office. She was rather rude and I told her she did not have permission to run my card as I showed up to the appointment unaware I would be charged anything. In short I think there are better doctors that truly care about you as a patient and are not just greedy and charging you for every little thing. The office is old and run down and you will spend most of the time in the appointment talking about the doctors accomplishments than your actual health. Fibroids are serious and you need a doctor that cares about your health so my advice is not to choose Dr. Randell.

Dr. Randell was very cold and impatient throughout the exam, and he made me feel like I was inconveniencing him by being there. He personally drew my blood, and it was much more painful than necessary. I left the exam literally in tears! Additionally, his staff came off as incompetent and unhelpful. I never heard back from the billing department but figured since I talked to insurance, I was good to go. When I arrived, I was told it would be $274. I asked why and was told it would go toward my deductible. After some back and forth the receptionist said she would talk to billing. I told her I could not pay more than my $30 copay and if it was more I needed to go ahead and cancel. She came back a few minutes later and told me $30 was fine. Not sure how a charge can go from $274 to $30. The doctor answered all questions but seemed pushy about scheduling surgery. The doctor performed a quick exam and I was told to go to the front. I’m not sure what part of a quick exam would constitute going toward my deductible. At the front, they asked about scheduling surgery. I told them I needed an exact price before I could schedule. I was told the billing department would email me. I did get an email this morning but with the billing issues yesterday I am getting a second opinion. Overall the doctor seemed to be pretty good. However, requesting $274 before taking $30 for a normal exam was a red flag. The receptionist never explained anything.

The first time I went to this office, I thought I was being Punk’d. I was just waiting for Ashton to come from around the corner. From the $400 initial visit (which they knocked down to $285 when I said I was leaving) to the intern/student in training in the room without my consent to keeping an MRI that I paid for and they won’t return to the doctor trying to rush me to have surgery to the insults to the doctor telling me to put my phone away while he talks to me as if I’m a child to the rude emails when I decided to use a different doctor who took good care of me and did my surgery with no hassle to (recently) them threatening to take me to magistrate court over $260 that I did not and still don’t think I owe. Even if I did, magistrate court? Really? I have never seen such unprofessionalism in my entire life. Then the staff is quick to say that he is the only doctor that can do what he does in Atlanta which is not true. Why throw shade on these other highly trained and skillful doctors in Atlanta to make yourself shine? If you are in fact that great, all the way around including bedside manners, your work will speak for itself without you having to degrade any other doctor that is just as good. I’m not here to bash anyone by all means and it took me a minute before I decided to post. A lot of us have the same exact story I see. We all can’t be lying. Something has to give and something should be done. The unjust never prospers.UPDATE: I see that the compliance officer is commenting stating that I owe their doctors office for my initial visit which is false. I was charged $285 (a negotiated amount and verbal agreement) that she was not present for, and Dr. Randell approved it. The office added in the difference when I decided to move forward with a different doctor and after the exchange of unpleasant emails. I paid every dime I owed. There were many stories before me like mine and I am sure that there will be many more like mine. Like I previously stated, we all cannot be lying. The unjust never prospers.

The insurance company called them to try to resolve the issue and they were so rude to them telling the insurance guy that they cannot talk about my account and the only correspondence was via email. Meanwhile I had just spoken to them about my about about 20 minutes ago before contacting the insurance to try to understand where my bill was coming from. Basically the account office charged me for $60 that they cant account for. The billed the insurance company twice on seperate days for a visit made on the same day which involved a wellness exam and a ultrasound! The insurance company adviced me to report it as insurance fraud which I am about to do.I have sent numerous emails and no one has responded since I got the insurance company involved. When I call the response I get is someone will call me back and they never do yet they have the nerves to send me bills they cannot explain to myself or the insurance company. I dont care how good Dr. Randell is but he has definitely lost a client and I will make sure I let all of the people I know what goes on in that office. Whatever dubious activity going on in the account department will be brought to the attention of the insurance fraud departments.
