MY IUD EXPERIENCE 💞I had the best possible experience at @austinwomenshealth thanks to IV sedation and nitrous oxide, amazing staff who care about my comfort and experience, and knowing I was in good hands. My pain (with iv sedation) was only a 3-4/10 and was mainly just cramping and me hating IVs10/10 recommendYou don’t have to go to a doctor that doesn’t take your pain seriouslyYou don’t have to get information (misinformation) from tiktok and instagram(instead, read Blood by @drjengunter)You deserve informed consent and informed careIt feels really empowering as a Texan women to be able to have this experience.LOVE U GINGER
Idk how this place has good reviews. My visit here was honestly the most disappointing visit I’ve ever experienced with a WOMENS CLINIC !! As an expecting mother i was not treated nicely. Front desk lady was very dismissive and rude. Very Monotone like she didn’t want to be there. Once she told me my test was positive she left it as that and didn’t say anything else. Not a comfortable place, and when i asked for 2 copies her and the doctor are questioning me as to why i need 2 copies. That’s none of your business it’s MY report of pregnancy. I shouldn’t be questioned why. Told my partner that he can just wait outside because he didn’t have his physical ID. She offered to have him send it to there email in order for him to sit in the chair. We let her know we sent it and she didn’t even check for the ID. This place was unbelievable to be completely honest. I would not recommended any mother to come here.
Ive been coming to Austin Women’s Health Center for 6 years. I have seen both Dr. Davis and Ginger and have nothing but great things to say about them. If you are looking for warm, direct, non judgmental reproductive care, this is the place for you. I feel taken care of here. The front desk is always friendly when I call or come into the office. The medical assistants go above and beyond to convey and address your needs as a team with the providers. Not to mention, the beautiful land that the clinic sits on makes me feel comfortable before I set foot into the office. Austin Women’s Health Center is a place who treats their patients like family with 50 years of service.
I only have nothing but positive things to say about Austin Womens Health Center. This is my regular OBGYN provider; I see them for well woman visits, paps, and any other issues that may come up. Just because this clinic is pro-choice doesnt mean they dont offer other types of essential and regular OBGYN care. The staff are kind, patient, and affirming. Im always able to easily get an appointment and I feel empowered as a patient that I am getting evidence-based and patient-focused care.
I had my IUD replaced here and was offered nitrous oxide and local anesthetic for pain relief. The combo of the two was super effective! I walked out of there in zero pain, and the staff was incredibly supportive and sweet! Highly recommend AWHC for all your reproductive health needs!
I had my first ultrasound here, Gabby was so professional and super kind. She have me some suggestions and recommendations. Also, the walkway to the front door is nice.Very green and relaxing. Cute place.
I scheduled an appointment here initially because my regular OBGYN was booked, and after having such an incredible interaction during my first exam, I officially switched over to AWHC. Their staff is so kind, and the faculty feels very safe and secure.
This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a healthcare facility. I had an appointment for 2:00pm and sat in the waiting room for an hour. They pulled me back into the office and I waited another 36 mins. It was so disappointing because it was an hour drive from my house and I had my husband waiting for me with my 1 year old. After an hour and thirty seven mins of waiting I got up and asked for a refund of my copay. There was no apology or explanation. Save yourself the time and find a women’s center that actually cares about you. This place does not deserve your hard earned money or your time.
The whole staff and facility is amazing! The facility itself is in a beautiful location when I went there weren’t any protesters (I heard stories about other services having a herd of protesters) and it’s very welcoming and discreet. The staff keeps things private, they are knowledge and practice all the cdc guidelines perfectly! There was enough seating and I think they do a good job with their overlap in scheduling to do so. The DR. was great during my first visit really helped all my questions and fears go away. I kinda almost forgot I was in an abortion clinic all together. This place is just a peace of mind. I truly appreciate them for my experience and their services to women! Thank you!!
I came here twice & I wouldnt go anywhere else. My experience was great both times with two different doctors. The first one was kind of grumpy but did an excellent job so no complaints. The second doctor that I saw spent a little more time with me but was very nice & did a great job as well. The staff is beyond helpful & very nice. They go out of their way to try & help you if you have problems with payment or anything else. The wait time can be a little long but they tell you that & its expected since they only have one doctor for procedures & another for gynecology. Overall great experience.
Dr. Davis was very dismissive and kept trying to say that my HRT was causing my problems when I had not only informed him this was an issue pre-HRT and that I had already done a blood test with my gender care clinic before going here and I was informed my HRT was not causing my problems. He then told me it was my IBS and told me to go to a friend of his who was a gastro doctor. I do not reccomend this clinic for ANY trans men as you will just be given the Trans Broken Arm treatment, and even when they asked you what your pronouns are they immediately call you maam after too. So in general if youre a transmasc individual dont go here because you will only feel alienated and dismissed.
After calling every clinic all over Austin and Oklahoma this was the last one on my list. I couldn’t believe when they picked up and said they could see me next day. I had been calling for days trying to get an appointment that wasn’t booked weeks out which because of the new law would be a problem. This clinic saved my life by being available and saved me about a thousand dollars I would have spent otherwise going out of state. Everyone there was super nice and professional and helpful. The only cons were the wait times were extremely long about 4 to 5 hours and the parking lot is awful, tight to no spaces and always full. Besides that definitely recommend this place.
I was very impressed and satisfied with the Austin Womens Health Center. I was able to get an appointment the same day I called and further scheduling was just as easy. The staff, from the office clerks to the nurses and the physician, were all courteous, professional, and competent. They made me feel very comfortable about the whole process. The wait times were extremely reasonable, given how many people were waiting in the office each day I went in. It is obvious that everyone is doing their best to keep things running smoothly, shuttling people in and out for the lab tests, counselling, sonograms, and information giving. They followed all the new (in my opinion stupid) Texas laws about information dissemination and the 24 hour post-sonogram waiting period. The clinic itself was very clean and orderly. At no point did I feel I was being treated without respect or agency. They give you lots of opportunities to talk about any feelings or issues you have, and answer questions patiently. Overall it was an excellent experience with trained professionals, and I would definitely rate it higher than many other doctors office visits Ive had over the years.
They really need to get it together. so unorganized and don’t know how to relay information to anyone. causing a delay knowing the longer you wait the more expensive it becomes. they are infamous for wanting to charge you twice for their mistakes. definitely all about the money. i have dealt with this clinic twice now and both times had an absolutely horrible experience. staff is so rude. i would suggest friendlier and more efficient staff running a clinic that involves dealing with pregnant women.
I found out about a unwanted pregnancy on a Tuesday and called them and they made an apt for me the next day. I truly appreciate that because I wasn’t sure how far along I was and I was scared waiting more time would not allow me to get an abortion. I went the next day and all of the employees are really kind and had a lot of patience. They make sure everyone goes through and is talked too and what not. They offer two different types of abortion the surgical and the pill. I recommend anyone going through an unwanted pregnancy to come here, you will feel welcomed and not judged at all. Though finding the clinic was a little difficult it’s well blended in so make sure you look at Google good to see what it looks like before. It’s a private property so no public protestors. Thank god.
The only reason I give 4 is because sometimes it is a long wait, but to me, it is understandable and has been worth it. Just be chill and bring something to do and don’t expect to have your appt right exactly when it’s assigned. This is a very comfortable place for sometimes not so comfortable scenarios. I feel the staff is very kind and competent and personally that’s worth a bit of a wait at times.
The nurses and supporters were so beautiful and very kind hearted. Everyone understands you as a human and gives you the best of comfort you could imagine. The procedure was not bad at all all women are beautiful no matter what, my love goes to you. We all have reasons for this and no one should make you feel any less of yourself. I recommend this place. It was very peaceful.
Austin Womens Health Center, is exactly that! All the women who work there make you feel so normal and have genuine care for you. I really appreciate the way they made me feel like a normal woman and took great care of me before and after. I highly recommend them ❤
The place appears very nice. It looks like a condo from the outside. They have a good deal of security in place to prevent issues. Once you get inside you feel secure.Their policy prevents friends/family accompanying to the procedure room, which can be a little tough. The wait was about 90 minutes, and the procedure took about 10. These seem like committed people and I appreciate the work they do for womens health.
Front desk was rude and no helpful at all. I walk out from there feeling worst than when I get there, i have no comments about the doctor because I decided to go to a different place, no one want to be treat like that , specifically when you are not feeling well, as long as the lady on the front desk still working with that terrible, mean and condescending attitude, if you can go to a different place do it, safe yourself from being treated like they don’t care about you or your issue.
I showed up for my appointment 30 minutes early and then I was seen after an hour and thirty minutes past my appointment time. It cosr 100 just to see them. I saw Dr.Rubino and she took the worst ultrasound ever. She didnt explain anything to me. She said I was too far along and she couldnt help me. She was in the room for barely five minutes. Dont get here.
I had to visit for two procedures this last year. The first one was just medical and it was a wonderful experience. All of the staff are very friendly, and my doctor was kind, patient, and informative. It was NOT Dr. Masserman (I believe thats the name?) either time, it was the other doctor whose name I unfortunately cannot remember. My only discomfort is that both doctors who perform the procedures are male, but I was never alone in a room with a male doctor. My first procedure went smoothly. The second, a surgical, not so much. My only gripes are that when I was informed about the anti-nausea pill, I was told to take it with food if I GET nauseous, not take it to prevent nausea. As a result I took it on an empty stomach (which was my bad), but I was stuck in front of the toilet the entire next ten hours alone at home, gushing my guts into toilet bowl and pad. Of course I panicked and called the hotline they gave us, which Im aware is just for emergencies like fevers and heavy bleeding. etc. But the office was closed and I was home by myself and just wanted a quick reassurance that yes, everything was normal, and I was going to be okay. I was connected with the other doctor that did not perform my procedure, I believe Dr. Masserman, and he was INCREDIBLY rude to me on the phone! I have never been disrespected so much by anybody in any profession. He asked if I had bled more than the safe amount or if I had a fever, and when I said no but I did have a couple questions I couldnt ask the office since it was closed, he HUNG UP ON ME. As if my experience wasnt bad enough already! It was so humiliating. When I went back for my check up a few days after I told my doctor about it and he gave an unsurprising Oh, I cant believe that, that doesnt sound right, kind of answer. My entire experience both times up to that point was incredible, and now I am hesitant about returning should I ever need these services again just in case I can only see Dr. Masserman. I am still giving 5 stars because although the wait times are awful, they are very thorough with their patients, kind and friendly, and the grounds are very relaxing. I remember taking my anti-anxiety medication before the second procedure and sitting in the warm sun at the picnic table with my boyfriend in kind of a daze.
This is an amazing place for womens healthcare. They were all amazing from the staff to the doctors. The security was really important and reassuring. I was treated so well and made to feel like an extra special person when the rest of the world was against me. Super supportive and changed my life for the better. This was the best experience I could have imagined in regards to my female health and my life. After reading another review I feel I should clarify. Yes, I did have to meet with a nurse in Killeen first and schedule my appt in Austin at this clinic. That was not an issue for me. And also Im positive that my doctor was Masserman and he was great but I didnt have a medical abortion but took the pills instead but he was still great with me.
I called this center (6/22/20, 1:30PM) to see if they had an availability for a serious issue I was having. When I said I was a new patient, the woman I spoke to stopped me and said they have nothing until September. I began to ask if she could refer me to another clinic and she hung up on me, in the middle of me talking.I called back and was immediately sent to hold, the same woman then answered and I said I didnt appreciate her hanging up on me, it was unprofessional. She began taunting me saying what, youre breaking up, cant hear you and hung up on me again.Im sure this an excellent facility but I wanted to share my experience with the rude, demeaning woman who answered their phone.
They are so helpful and so sensitive with their patients. i have been going here since 2001 and i am always treated with kindness and courtesy. im never waiting for long periods of time and i LOVE my doctor, Ginger! :)
First off. Let me say that this was my first time getting an abortion and it was needed because the child I was carrying was no longer alive and therefore I needed to induce a medical miscarriage. With that being said, I was very scared and confused as to the whole process of it. The nurses were very helpful and kind, but the doctor was completely opposite. He was unattached from what he was doing and even rude. He rushed me and told me I wasnt doing my part when I was visibly uncomfortable during the ultrasound they performed. After I had taken the first pill I mentioned to him I had some concern and would like to talk to him, and his response was, yeah well there are some risks. Its too late now. This was truly the most awful and horrifying experience because he was my doctor. He didint care at all and even seemed angry and annoyed that he had to do his job. He often talked to me in a rude tone and rushed me. I fail to understand why he would go into this type of career if he hated it so much. Please save yourself the trouble of dealing with this awful doctor and go to a different clinic. He doesnt deserve any business at all and the place should find a different doctor. One that actually cares about his job and isnt insensitive and rude. One star.
I dont understand how anyone could have anything bad to say about this place. Yes the wait times can be long. But now that there are not many clinics around they are understandably very busy. Anytime you would go to a place to have any kind of procedure done it is obciously going to take quite some time. Everyone here was very kind and compassionate. They made me feel soo comfortable and cared for. I am forever greatfull for the wonderfull care I received during such a hard time. I would highly reccomend this clinic to anyone needing those kinds of services services.
By far the worst womens medical facility Ive ever gone to. First off, their number and address is listed as if theyre located in Killeen. When I scheduled the appointment I was not informed of this and as a result I was late to my appointment because I had to drive an hour to Austin. Needless to say, I arrived there and the place was overcrowded with wining kids everywhere. I was told that each patient us only allowed one other person at the scheduled appointment. So why are there families there with children especially considering some women are there to have abortion procedures? In which case looking at other peoples kids will in essence only cotribute to their PTSD.....I had to wait for 4 hours before I was seen the 1st time and for several hours at the 2nd appointment when my appointment was at 0930 and I arrived early. Aside that, I requested that my prescriptions be sent to the VA hospital in Temple considering Im a combat veteran who doesnt pay for prescriptions, but was informed by the flighty receptionist that they couldnt send it to the VA nor could they fax them to my primary care provider. So, Im having to pay out of pocket for prescriptions when I dont have to. To make matters worse, it took 3 people to stick me in order to find out what my blood type was. I distinctively explained to them that I was a vet and that we are required to know our blood types. In which case they insisted on drawing blood which took forever because the first two seemed terribly inexperienced. They provide discounts for certain services if you have to pay out of pocket, but you will never know unless you overhear another potential patient and the receptionists conversation over the phone......Veterans and active duty personnel steer clear of this place if at all possible. Youve been warned.
I was scared at first because the reviews weren’t all that great. But i loved my experience. I took the medical abortion and even when i had qiestions at home they would carefully and happily let me know everything was going to be okay. 675$ in total including the $100 fee.
5 hour wait for a 15 minute appointment.Forms are not mobile friendly. Very frustrating to fill out. There is no sign so its very hard to find. However the abortion was free because of my income. And the staff is very kind.
Front desk was rude and condescending. No help. Ended up walking out. Find another job lady. No one wants help from someone like that especially during times like these.Other girls felt the same way when they saw how I was treated. If you can go to another place, do it.
The staff is nice and friendly. The clinic is cleaned and well kept. But the wait is ABSOLUTELY toooooo long!!! If they can cut the wait time, this place would have a 5 star.
I had an amazing experience I didn’t expect to get treated so well nurses and all staff are amazing at first I was very nervous and a little scared but I felt so much better after being explained to thoroughly and everything went great!
This staff is so friendly and nice. They made me feel comfortable and safe. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable during the procedure and after.
My experience was great up until two days after my surgery. I developed a 100.7 degree fever which eventually escalated into a 101.3 degree fever. The after care pamphlet the office gives you stresses that you IMMEDIATELY call the office if you develop high grade fever because its likley an infection from the abortion. I was connected with Dr. Masserman, the doctor who performed my procedure. His tone was annoyed, which quickly escalated into insulting when I told him about my 101 degree fever. He asked me whether or not I was in college which was, given his condescending tone, was to gauge my level of intelligence as to decide if my opinion on my condition was worth evaluating at his medical professional level or a morons. The next question was what I had ate in the last hour. I said spaghetti/ no meat. HE CHALKED MY 101 DEGREE FEVER UP TO HAVING ATE HOT SPAGHETTI!!!! Apparently he decided a morons. That night I ended up in the ER and with a $800 ER bill. Not a comfortable financial position for a single 22 year old, after paying $726 two days earlier for the abortion. I recommend this place in all regards except this doctor. As a medical professional he should offer more intelligent advice than hot spaghetti.
In the midst of everything going on, I just want to say thank you for giving me access to an abortion back in 2018. I felt safe and taken care of. I especially loved the fruit punch at the end. Thanks again.
This is such a great place for women’s health care. I’m so glad I picked this facility because they took care of me in every way possible. They also work with you and offer financial help to help pay for services. I highly recommend Austin Women’s Health Center to everyone.
Do not go here. I went here twice; for a pregnancy test which they told me was negative (after already testing positive at home), and for a Papsmear which they told me was abnormal (my most recent Papsmear came back normal). That negative pregnancy test led me to need to have a pretty delayed abortion (which I went to PP for), leaving me very emotionally scarred. Do not go here.
The staff here care about every patient that walks through their doors. They have been in practice in Austin for over 40 years and have shown unwavering commitment to our community in the face of unimaginable adversity. I will continue to support this practice for my reproductive care.
The staff at Austin Womens Health Center truly care about the women of Texas. Their dedication to serving bilingual womexn is worthy of an applause. Thank you for putting womens health at the top of the list and for providing these critical services!
I have been coming to this practice for many years and hope to continue to do so. Dr. Davis is kind, thorough and very professional.
Dr. Rubino & staff were great! Everyone was helpful & answered all my questions. I felt comfortable throughout my whole visit. 10/10, would recommend.
So grateful for this place I was lost in clueless until I picked up the phone called their number staff members upfront doctors in the back the counselors every single one of them are very much great & fast they got me in and out within the same day or two with everything I needed very helpful it’s so sad that the supreme Court isn’t bing helpful I wish they can continue to provide for women in Austin for many years to come thank you Austin Women’s Health Center staff and doctors for everything you’ve done
Dr. Rubino is great. The staff is polite and informative. They made sure I was comfortable and well taken care. Great service overall, would definitely recommend.
Everything went great the long wait is normal so I had no problem the Procedure went well and they helped me cut off pretty much 70% of what I was supposed to pay wich was close to a thousand since I was already 15 weeks they kept me very comfortable
I called, they said they were open till 5 mon-fri. I showed up twice needing emergency medication on said days, before 5, both times they were closed. Terrible clinic. Walked an hour and a half both times.
The staff here is so amazing! The nurses take such great care of you and Dr. Rubino is fantastic!
Scheduled an apt. With Miss Emily today, she is best. (SERVICES ARE FOR A FRIEND).... ANYWAY SHE IS AN EXEMPLARY EMPLOYEE FROM A CUSTOMER RELATIONS....STAND POINT.L❤VE HER
I was nervous going in because of bad reviews but shocked to see they were so welcoming, caring and nice. I would recommend this place.
This place performs abortions, and charges exceptionally more for womens services that can otherwise be provided at a pregnancy resource center! DO NOT go anywhere like this without having done your own research.
Dr. Rubino and her staff are amazing! They helped me so much and provided such a comfortable environment!
Absolutely ridiculous wait time. Had an appointment at 1:30 and at 3 oclock still had not been seen by anyone. They let several people that arrived after me go in front of me. Whats the point of having an appointment and then still waiting to hours to be seen.
Great clinic! The nurses are very nice.Lowest price for the after pill.
I’ve truly never experienced such caring and comforting nurses and doctor as I did here ❤️
Kind and reliable medical providers. Made sure I was completely informed and offered many options for payment. Will return again.
Respond to the negative reviews! The staff can be so rude and insensitive. If you hate your job so much, work somewhere else!
Absolutely great. So much better than planned parenthood. Everyone was so nice and helpful.
Dr. Rubino is amazing! Very informative I felt very comfortable.
Best place to go to! Everyone here is so nice and help you in anyway they can. I recommend this place.
Takes Entirely way to long for anything to happen here. appointment was at 1:00 but still sitting at 3:30 waiting to be seen
I called at 1:09pm today & got a message that the office is closed. wth? weekday, business hours, not lunch time.
They said I could not abort my 19 year old kid I’m very disappointed.
They never called in our prescription on time and then they won’t answer the phone, even though they are open!?!?!!!!
Dr. Rubino and staff are amazing, highly recommend!
What’s the point of a apt. Just to wait for 5 hours
Kind , supportive , couldnt have gone to a better place .
Friendly employees that made the process easy.
Dr. Rubino was great!
Dr. Rubino is the best!
I had a very good experience... the wait is a little long but I recommend that you leave with time available... because they are very friendly, discreet... they dont judge you and they are all respectful. EVERYONE... helped me a lot. If they take time its because they have a lot of clients and its because they are very good... I really felt relieved to find people like them🙏
Good service, the place is nice. Personally, I recommend it for any gynecology problem.
For the best, I dont give them more stars because there are only 5 of them but they give you the best treatment, they are very kind, all the women there behave spectacularly. Thank you all for doing everything possible because we felt like coming here with you 👏👏
Excellent place, the workers are very friendly and are always willing to help you with any questions or help you need, and also because they speak Spanish.
The service of the doctors and nurses is impeccable, it is very good, they take care of your safety since the procedures are reliable and safe.
Good treatment and very friendly staff there.
Its excellent, they are kind to you and you feel safe.
I went with my sister-in-law and the staff is very friendly 👍👍👏👏❤
Good attention 👏 👍
