Some of the kindest, most informative and timely folks Ive had the pleasure to meet. Very good clinic for trans affirming care! From, the front desk staff being inviting and kind, to the nurses and doctors who were informative and accepting. The environment fostered here is one of openness and safety. I could not recommend them enough.
Id suggest coming here if it is the only thing you have to do that day. Its a nice and clean place, and the staff are nice too. But itll take over 2 hours to get a pregnancy test done.I had somewhere to be afterward, but I had to cancel due to how long it took. I wish I had known beforehand how long it would take.Again, come here. But do it on a day where its the only thing you have to do. It will take a long time.
Lovely staff! I am so bad with names but the nurse practitioner that helped me made me feel so comfortable. I hate hate hate the doctors or getting tested it’s so nerve racking to me so I’m so grateful this is the location close to my home.
From start to finish, this was a supportive and positive experience. The staff was kind and so considerate of my circumstances and finances. They were clear and straightforward, which helped me feel calm and heard. They did their best to get me financial aid all while being entirely underfunded. I am beyond grateful that this clinic exists. It gave me the results that I so desperately needed and treated me with respect and consideration. Thank you to the staff and doctors for all you do.
From the front desk to the doctors, everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. They eased my anxiety and I had a very pleasant experience.
I had to come to this office for an OBGYN apt, and goodness this is the best place! First I dealt with Madi with check in, such a delightful woman. Seriously she is so nice. I can’t say enough good things. Unfortunately we had some insurance hiccups that Nicole, the manager, so kindly stepped in and solved. She took the liberty of contacting my insurance so I didn’t have to to get everything sorted. She is the epitome of a great manager!! Sofia, the RHA, called me back to run all of my tests and blood work and literally let me ask every question under the moon! She was so kind and patient and I appreciate her so much. Lastly, I had Kara as my doctor and SHE DESERVES A RAISE!!I didn’t feel rushed, she calmed any nervousness I had, listened to any concerns I brought, she did everything necessary to make me feel like I chose the right place. Kara truly you were the cherry on top of this whole experience! 10/10! Will 100% be coming back!!
Kind staff and the services they provide are good. They helped us out when we needed it🙏🙏🙏🙏
They’re not open Saturdays but will let you still book an appointment. Had someone call me to let me know it’s been cancelled, but they never cancelled it on their end.
I was blown away by how sweet and attentive the staff was during my visit. I mentioned I have trouble getting blood drawn and the nurses were so incredibly nice. They took me to a comfy chair, brought me snacks, and talked me through the whole thing. I highly recommend this location! They made me feel so comfortable.
I took my daughter for birth control and they don’t accept TWHP. I asked for assistance and they tell me she would have to be self-pay because they can’t provide “assistance” since she received a form of Medicaid. The only explanation the clerk provided was “we are in a law suit with Texas Medicaid” so basically my daughter can’t get assistance. Because of this I will NEVER donate to PPH again. In 2023 alone I contributed $3500 so that young women are able to get these services. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
This is by far the best Planned Parenthood clinic I’ve experienced. The staff was so kind, helpful, and caring. My doctor was Abby, and she is incredible! She made me feel at ease, walked me through every step to ensure I knew what was going on, and ensured I was comfortable through it all. Getting a women’s wellness check is never exciting. I was nervous going in, but I left feeling productive and positive! I appreciate the attention to detail and care this place offers.
While the staff was kind, the experience was terrible. I had my blood drawn by someone who was clearly unfamiliar or scared of the process. She was visibly shaking while taking my blood, and I had to remind her to remove the band that cuts off circulation. I was so freaked out by her hands shaking while she had a needle in me. She was accidentally pulling my skin upwards with the needle clearly trying to steady herself from shaking. I have a large bruise forming already because of this.It ended up with them not getting enough blood, and I have to go to an external lab to finish testing. Blood work should not be offered at this location if staff is not trained to properly do it. Staff is incredibly kind, and it hurts to leave a bad review, but I cant in good conscience say this was an okay experience.
This is hands-down the best Planned Parenthood that I have ever experienced. Planned Parenthood has been my resource for sexual health information and services for nearly 10 years, and I have gone to locations in 3 different cities. While I have always been appreciative of Planned Parenthood and the services they provide, I haven’t necessarily felt safe, comfortable, or understood at their locations. I was incredibly relieved to find that this wasn’t the case at this particular location. The offices are safe, secure, and clean. The staff is super friendly and informative. My doctor, Rose, felt like a friend right away. She speaks to me in a way that feels familiar and friendly. The financial assistance that they provide for low-income households is amazing. It feels like they genuinely want to help you receive as much care as possible without emptying your pockets. Watching the employees care for the children of client’s in the waiting room is super heart warming. I’m totally in love with my local Planned Parenthood and very much look forward to the day where my income allows me to make a contribution.
Dr.Tristen and all staff members of this place are just the most amazing group of people I’ve ever met. They are very thoughtful, gentle and most importantly SUPPORTIVE. Not once was I uncomfortable or embarrassed for what I had going on. There were actually protestors outside when I went for a follow up visit. When I casually mentioned it to the front desk upon signing in, they immediately made sure those people left and reassured me that my decision is supported. This place is full of absolute angels and I will never forget their kindness.
They turned me away and wouldnt even let me see or talk to the doctor. Ive been turned away from the urgent care to go to the ER, Ive been turned away from the ER to go to a doctor, Ive been turned away from a doctor to go to planned parenthood. Really let me down, Im feeling really hopeless for ever receiving care in Texas. Whatever laws are in place to prevent care to women is messed up. I just need to be looked at by anyone. Just glad they didnt charge me. All they did was refer me to a doctor whos been retired for a long time. 0 other recommendations or care.
Absolutely terrible PATIENT service . rude receptionist that should be nowhere near the medical field . or people for that matter .
Everyone here is very kind and listens intently. No judgement of any kind! They clearly just want people to get good care. Ive had a better experience here than at a normal OBGYN. No frills, just care.
The friendliest staff of any clinic or doctors office Ive been to. Every single staff member had a smile on their face and treated me with respect and kindness. I called once and had to be on hold for 2, maybe 3 minutes and someone picked up the phone twice to apologize for the wait. The facility itself was clean, modern, and beautiful, with lots of parking out of view of the public sidewalk (where Ive seen protestors gathering before).
Do not go here! You pay so much money into your visits and the staffing are rude! I called to reschedule a follow up appointment and spoke to a girl name Wendy, She said it was going to cost an additional $160 which they said would be covered after the first couple of payments I had made the last 2 payments and they lied about that, your better off going through another agency or different operation or maybe even your own health insurance. I am following up with corporate because this place is so awful! They do not have a very good system here.
I noticed that almost every review that had a negative demeanor was poorly written, which usually displays intelligence, or lack thereof, and the individuals seemed to have no patience with anyone at establishment. Do these reviewers and patients not understand the situation that Planned Parenthood is in, ESPECIALLY in Texas? Most of these clinics have lost over 30% of their funding just since 2013. Some as much as 50%. The staff is there to help, not to take your **** because you are impatient. When I want someone to help, I surely dont act like some of other patients were towards the staff while I was there. They were short, rude, and even yelling. I was truly appalled. Planned Parenthood is present to improve our standard of life, and for a significantly cheaper price than a with private physician. If you all dont like it, maybe you should re-direct your anger toward the ugly neo-conservative policies that have defunded the programs we all should have a right to. Respect to all the staff at this establishment, thanks for what you do, and all you stand for.
Womens wellness services are excluded from my health insurance policy through work, so I came to PP when I needed help. Even though they couldnt serve me because they dont provide the services I was needing, they were informative, helpful and caring. And even though they could have charged me a consultation fee, they didnt. In short, they were wonderful and Im very grateful to and for them.
I waited 2 hours with an appointment for a 2 minute Pap smear exam. After a week I just received a call that the lab did not have enough to test anything, so I was charged $80, wasted 2 hours of my time for nothing. Never again, do not go here!! My sister has had good experiences with the downtown location.
First experience at any Planned Parenthood. Was nervous, not only because of the nature of my visit, but also having grown up in a conservative Christian environment, I was taught that PP was only bad. I had found a lump in my breast, and having moved to Austin recently, I didnt have a PCP yet and was really worried about getting it checked right away. Saw online this PP location does breast exams and mammogram recommendations. I called and set up a same day appointment. I read on here the wait times are kind of long so I brought a book. I did wait for about an hour after my scheduled time to actually see the doctor, but I thought of it as me time and read my book.Everyone I talked to throughout the whole process was *SO* helpful, sensitive, and caring. I cant express that enough. I really felt so understood and heard, all the way from the initial phone call, to checking out at the end. I was really nervous talking with the doctor, but she did such a great job at calming me down and giving me all the information I needed. The doctor made sure not to leave the room until she had asked me at least three times if I was sure all my questions had been answered and if there was *anything* else she could do to help. As busy as they are there, she made sure I had all the time I needed. The best and most surprising part was that I was so worried about how I was going to pay for an ultrasound/mammogram, BUT Planned Parenthood has a partnership with Susan G. Komen, and their grant covered the cost of my breast exam and also covers my ultrasound/mammogram at ARA. I had heard growing up that we cant donate to SGK because they support planned parenthood and probably abortions. But NO, the money went straight to breast exams and early detection. That rocked my world. So glad I chose to go to Planned Parenthood. Definitely telling all my Christian family that they better donate to SGK now.Strong supporter here, for life! Thank you SO much.
Two days worth of phone calls to;1) speak to a staff member2) schedule an appointment3) obtain clear and concise information regarding my pending visit.A thirty minute wait before and a 2.5 hour hour wait after my scheduled appointment time at this Planned Parenthood location and yet, I was never seen by a medical professional or given an exam. I walked out. They want to charge me $130.00 for that visit. For what services?!Also, if your patient knows more medical definitions and terminology than your staff, you have training/education/quality issues to address. The staff couldnt pronounce terms like colposcopy correctly or knew what a D&C stood for...um, really? They were extremely rude and did not keep my personal information private---they addressed my medical issues in the waiting room area outside of the lab AND announced my birthdate in the very public waiting room.I will never donate my time or money to that program again. Ill pay an extra $50 to see a REAL Gynecologist, not these resident interns from various medical schools. Not worth the time or effort---sad, really, because there are women out there that dont realize that they have alternative choices to this asinine treatment.
The first time I had an appointment at this location it took me over an hour of calling just to make it. I arrived for my appointment on time and sat in the lobby for two hours. The staff isnt very friendly. I sat at the window for a good minute or so with a question before the two ladys ceased their conversation to assist me. The phones are never answered promptly, its always a hassle and time consuming. Nothing about this clinic is easy or quick. Expect to be calling and sit there all day.
I am reading some of these reviews and it breaks my heart to see the anger. I truly understand as I tried to call and make an appointment. However the State slashed their funding which is why they had to cut back on staff and no one answers your calls. You have to go up their to make an appointment. Truly sad! I am very great full to them as they have helped me over the years and gave me the resources needed when I was diagnosed with precancerous breast tissue. I am cancer free and glad to have had the help I needed. Thank you!
Came in for an initial pregnancy test and wanted to keep my child if I was pregnant however I tested negative, which was not an accurate result as I am very pregnant. The lady couldnt tell me how sensitive their tests were, and she said she ran it twice so it couldnt be. Then she apologized that I wasnt pregnant, even though Ive gotten two positives on a digital since then. They seem to not want to help anybody unless youre going here for an abortion or birth control. I was very much looking forward to this appointment and was not happy at all leaving the place I almost cried. I was then told that I could go to the north location in Austin for family planning Services which is basically like birth control and other things, it doesnt really make sense to me why I would be referred there if I wasnt pregnant but wanted to become pregnant. The catch is though is I am pregnant :) so tf? Really guys. I plan to go to a place that helps pregnant women instead down south, three guesses what that place is, even though they are very religious they help out in any way they can and are more than happy to help someone in need versus this place.
I called asking for a friend if they offered sonograms. The person that answered was nice but said they only offer sonograms for abortion purposes. The person that I was calling for is not interested in an abortion. She wants a sonogram to see if the baby is healthy. She wants to know and understand how her baby is doing. The website to PP says that they offer sonograms. It does not specify that they only offer sonogram for abortion purposes. I do not understand why a clinic offering womans health help would not do a sonogram to check on the health of the baby and mother. This rally saddens me.
I forgot who I spoke to on the phone, but she was SO nice and helpful regarding the questions I had about birth control and fees. I called on Wednesday morning I believe, and she works at the South Austin PP location. Thanks for providing health care services to people like me who just moved to the area, therefore dont have health insurance and need birth control.
I drive all the way across town to come here instead of the North Austin location which is horrible. This facility is clean and nice. The employees are friendly and helpful. This location is wonderful and I have never waited longer than an hour after my scheduled appointment. They even allow you to set up appointments online which is fast and easy.
Wonderful establishment. kind workers. very important to the community 💕
Very friendly staff! They made me feel very comfortable for this being my first visit. The wait wasnt horrible I had an appointment at 9:40 & got out around 11:10, it should be expected at any place though.
They ACTTED like I had to pay upfront until I talked to the manager and he said I can pay later and still be seen today! This staff are straight up rude and disrespectful being sarcastic like SURE ILL GET MY MANAGER! Yea run and get him! And dont worry ill wait! I got here at 2:30! And I got all day! Ill edit this after my visit and let yall know how it went! 6-6-14
All staff was very friendly , supportive, and gave me tons of resources to take home. The educator was very helpful as well never felt judged or belittled.
Great and friendly staff, and quick service. They were attentive to my health needs. Definitely come here if you need service, with or without insurance! Be sure to make yourself clear!
They took me seriously and where very nice. They helped me get something like insurance because Im unemployed, so the visit was completely free
I called and tried to schedule a routine annual exam, and the person I spoke to didnt seem to know what I was asking for. Wanted me to call back when I know what specific service I need. How do you work for a reproductive health place and not know what routine annual means?
Ridiculously long waiting times compared to any other Planned Parenthood location I’ve ever been to. The nurse and staff were kind but not worth it enough to ever come back.
This place sucks I should have red the reviews before coming HERE (since I am STILL here) thought it was just the first time you come that it takes forever but I was wrong you always have to wait forever! If youre planning on coming here bring a book or movie on your phone because you will probably finish both before you get checked by the doctor!
They are under new management & they refused services & the pass when I went to them they never refused services I am lost for words
Staff is so nice and very supportive of whatever reason your visit is for. Thank you for doing what you do! Love Dr. Dermiss!
Thank you so much for treating me like a human!! You listened, heard, and helped. I will be coming back.
These women are the best, I wouldnt have had access to OBGYN care if it wasnt for them.
Such a great and comforting staff. They definitely know how to run a business professionally and with care. This place is amazing at what they do. I couldnt thank them enough
Doing the best with what they have. The state doesnt make their job easy. Props to the wonderful and kind people who work there. I had nothing less than a great experience.
Professional staff. Easy and convenient.
Ive been a few times and every time the staff has been respectful and my medication has been very affordable.
Ive used their services for my annual check ups and they have been kind, helpful and professional.
They double-billed me. Also make sure to ask about the cost of labs because they like to leave out the fact that youll be billed for that later as well.
Amazing group of people here, they made me feel safe and comfortable and treated me with respect.
They cheated us .also billed us double .my friend suffers alot because of their negligence they treat him wrong Nd bcoz of that my friend will never b able to stand on his feet
Nice staff, simple process, affordable. Takes some waiting, but its worth it for the savings.
Planned parenthood was one of the best medical services for women in this country .
Wait time is way too long. 1.5 hours waiting in the lobby and still havent seen the Dr.
I called for a mammogram and they dont provide them .
Provides much needed services for the community
The best womens care and help services
