This review is long overdue, but I want to take a moment to share my experience for anyone searching for a fertility doctor. You are in the right place! Initially, I was a bit apprehensive due to some reviews mentioning less-than-ideal bedside manner. Already feeling vulnerable, I was nervous about feeling unheard or dismissed. However, since becoming his patient in 2022, I can confidently say that Dr. M is the best doctor Ive ever had, and we have had a great experience. He is incredibly knowledgeable and it shows in every aspect of his practice. When you visit him, the goal is to start or grow your family, not to receive sugar-coated reassurances. Dr. M is direct, professional, and exceptionally skilled at what he does. Once you get to know him, youll find hes also funny and lovable and truly wants to help you with your fertility goals. Thanks to Dr. M and his wonderful team, we now have our sweet boy who is now 17 months. Without Dr.M Im not sure we would be parents today. We recently visited Dr.M with our son he helped make possible to discuss doing another transfer, and the whole experience was wonderful. Given our circumstance of needing to be here in the first place, for what it is, we are happy to be back in the care of Dr.M and his team as we continue to grow our family.
After three years of struggling with infertility and numerous doctors giving us the runaround, we were losing hope and losing time. But then we found Dr. Moghadam (Dr. Mogey, as I liked to call him) and his team at AFI and our hope was renewed and with good reason.... We graduated a few weeks ago! I could write a full on love letter or essay to AFI but I will try to keep it short and sweet..Dr. Mogey gives it to you straight and is oh so knowledgeable. Hes also compassionate and pretty funny, too. I had full trust in him (and I have trust issues, esp within the medical field) and felt that he truly cared about me as a patient and our end goal. I cant say enough good things about AFI. The front staff/techs and nurses were all so nice and helpful. We miss them! From the first consultation, we knew we were in good hands and were so surprised at how fast he made things happen for us. We could not be more grateful. Im an anxious girlie but Dr. Mogey was transparent and comforting and always took the time to thoroughly answer all of our questions.I also expected looong wait times due to it being a specialist office and the nature of the office.... but I was pleasantly surprised, we were usually in and out pretty quickly. I can only think of 1 or 2 times we had a longer wait.... which isnt a bad stat when you consider how many visits you have to go in for IVF. iykykAll in all, if youre serious about your fertility, go see Dr. Mogey and the AFI team! Do it.
There are always pros and cons to any practice but after going through 4 IVF clinics and landing here I HIGHLY recommend AFI to anyone struggling with infertility.I am due to have my baby boy NEXT WEEK! After 3.5 years of testing and treatments and 4 IVF clinics. AFI made things happen at a pace that was unbelievable compared to anyone else and I will forever cherish their help and kindness.Lets reality set though because some of this will be your case for ANY clinic!- You *need* to count your meds and supplies and keep track of them in advance. I have yet to meet anyone going through IVF with any clinic that hasnt at least once in the process realized last minute they didnt have enough meds or something was missing. That said, AFI got us taken care of when we ran into this and we never missed a cycle of meds- Long wait times - most IVF clinics dont have a multitude of doctors like a general physician office and this has one. AFI did have long waits if I had a midday appointment, but mornings were always in and out fast- Dr. M is the ONLY IVF doctor I have met that did not waste my time with unnecessary procedures and treatments! He is straight forward and concise and while some people may prefer the feel good take your time kind of doctors that will empty your change purse with a hug and smile, I loved that he was direct and transparent. He was also the only doctor I encountered that remained friendly and respectful towards me when my husband was unable to join me for some appointments.- Nurse staff were sweet and wonderful and I kind of miss them
Terrible experience with dr Moghadam. DO NOT recommend this place. My experience with Dr. Moghadam was extremely disappointing. Dr. Moghadam showed a complete lack of empathy and was offensive, judgmental, and disrespectful throughout my visit. His bedside manner was by far the worst I have ever encountered. I expressed my discomfort with his behavior and had to leave his office. I regret not listening the warnings in the numerous 1-star reviews regarding his disrespectful demeanor. I won’t let him bully me like this.
Dr. Moghadam and his team are the people you want in your corner when going through the difficult fertility journey. He will tell it to you straight and not sugarcoat, but he will also make himself available at all times, come up with a customized treatment plan, and be relentless in trying to help you. Unlike IVF factories out there, the AFI office starts to feel like a family and theres continuity between appointments, which we appreciated. We consulted with a few clinics in Austin before pursuing IVF and landed on AFI because of the thoroughness, obvious expertise and proven track record. We couldnt recommend them more.
Dr. Moghadam takes you by the hand and walks you through your fertility journey whatever your needs are. He is kind, thoughtful, compassionate, knowledgeable and actually takes the time to listen to your questions and concerns and address them promptly. You can’t have a better doctor to partner with for your fertility treatments. His entire team is absolutely amazing. They greet you with a smile and remember your name and truly care about you. You get to always see the same people every time you go there and I greatly appreciate that.Thank you, Dr. Moghadam and team for giving me the best gift ever: the gift of motherhood! I’ll see you soon for the next one!
We couldnt be happier with our experience with Dr. M and his team. Dr. M is very hands on and you can be assured that he is there to guide you along every step of the way. His opinions and judgements are purely scientific and data driven. We really appreciated that he conveyed them to us in a straightforward manner with empathy. Our appointments never once felt rushed and we did not experience any significant wait time. Their office has been fantastic with their time management. Dr. M and his entire team have been most kind and wonderful to us. Every one of them are happy to help with any questions or concerns. We are forever grateful to have found Dr. M and his team to help with navigating our fertility journey.
Updating my review to current results- Dr. M convinced me to do something I was skeptical about which was going through IUI. I was skeptical because IUI has a lower success rate than IVF. However, I trusted Dr. M and his staff and we got pregnant on our second IUI cycle. We meet our baby boy in 9 weeks all thanks to Dr. M. Sure, he can be a little rough around the edges but he cares about his patients, he’s extremely knowledgeable and doesn’t give up on helping his patients achieve their goals. Going through infertility is a tough journey, but thanks to Dr. M we never lost hope. Thank you and your wonderful staff for everything you have done for our little family!
There is simply no one else we’d trust with our journey to complete our family. We are beyond happy with the care we’ve received over the years. Dr. M and his team gave us our beautiful baby girl (now 2 years old), and just recently sent us off with another successful pregnancy. This process is anything but easy. We had an unfortunate setback during our second round, and I felt the utmost compassion and care from the whole team. Dr. M was ready with immediate solutions, and I never once doubted that he was going to figure it out for us. And of course, he did. After so much time spent there, the staff feels likefamily and the office feels like home. That’s not something you can say very often about a doctor’s office, but this place is something truly special.Dr. M - thank you for all you do, not just for us, but every family who is fortunate enough to work with you. We will miss you!
As someone who also works in medicine, I have an understanding of both the science and service side of clinical care. Throughout our fertility journey, I was unbelievably impressed with the attention to detail and education that Dr. Moghadam provided.I can unequivocally state this without hesitation - Dr. M genuinely cares about each patient that walks through the door, AND is laser focused on helping them achieve the best possible outcome.I firmly believe hes one of the last few souls that chose medicine for the right reasons, and continues to instill this mantra in his practice today. While compliments and referrals are great, the real proof is the outcome data, and Im happy to say we are blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby boy thanks to Dr. M and his staff.Exceptional experience.
I found Dr. Moghadam through a friend that had a really good consultation and she referred me because I didn’t feel cared for enough at the first fertility center I’ve worked with. I decided to get a second opinion and we are very satisfied with Dr. Moghadam and his team. He’s always happy to be around and makes sure we understand what’s going on each step of the way. The kind nurse was always more than happy to answer all of my silly questions and helped me with everything that I needed. I would recommend, DEFINITELY! I just had my “Transfer” today and regardless of the outcome I’m happy that I choose this place to move forward with my fertility procedure. Thank you to Dr. and his entire team.
Thank you Dr. M!! You’ve helped us so much and you are great at what you do. My experience was great here even through all the trials and tribulations. I can’t wait to do it again to make our family even bigger ☺️
You’re in great hands with Dr. Moghadam and his staff. Dr Moghadam is by far one of my favorite doctors that I have work with. He is straightforward, honest and you can tell he genuinely cares. I feel he does the best he can to help each patient. He one of the most hands on doctors I have ever met. He takes his time in each appointment I never feel rush and always answer any questions I may have. The only flaw I have experience with this clinic is to expect to wait but it’s worth the wait and I don’t mind.
Dr. Moghadam is a great doctor who surrounds himself with the absolute best team. I have been to three other fertility clinics that had good doctors but their teams constantly dropped the ball, didnt follow through on insurance claims, made the process absolute hell for me so I moved on. I am so glad to have finally found Dr. M and his team - Caitlin, Naymi, Alex, Mary, these women CARED for me. They are super stars. I cannot recommend this place enough. You may have to wait a bit longer than youd like in the waiting room from time to time but you will get excellent care because AFI goes that extra step for their patients. I just finished my egg retrieval, everything went off without a hitch. The surgery center they use is top notch as well. Thank you Dr. Moghadam and team, gonna miss yall!
Another 5 start review for Dr. M and his team! I have one posted from 2019 that talked about the stress and disappoint I experienced from a DIFFERENT fertility institute and how we felt completely at ease with Dr. M. He respected our timeline and was honest and realistic with us. I would not have this configuration of our family if it were not for him! My son was an IUI and although my daughter’s embryo was created elsewhere, he did a beautiful transfer that has resulted in a darling little girl. We owe a lot to Dr. M :) We ❤️ y’all!
Not so pleasant experience with this dr at all :(I can relate to all the low ratings feedbacks thats provided here.
Entering 35 weeks of pregnancy I’m feeling beyond blessed to have worked alongside such an amazing team at AFI.Dr. M takes a personal approach with each patient which I appreciated. He takes the time to understand your body and how you response to the medication to then make a plan of action that’s best suited for you. Because of this you will be monitored very closely. I love that at AFI isnt a one size fits as we all so different.Dr. M and his team always ensure that you have all the information that you need during the process. They provide flowsheet calendars with times to take your medication, dates of clinic visits and blood work. The process can feel overwhelming so having a calendar with all the information listed out is very helpful to stay on track. There is full transparency with costs and expectations. There are no surprises when it comes to payments, they lay everything out very clearly.I would 100% recommend AFI to anyone on their fertility journey. They truly care about their patients and helping them grow their family. We are forever grateful for the care they provided through our journey and will be back to continue to grow our family in the future. We truly love the entire team at AFI.
My fiancé was sent here by his PCP for lab work. His PCP said we could just drop it off and be good to go. My fiancé spoke with someone at the office twice. The first person told him he needed an appointment so he scheduled an appointment. He ended up needing to reschedule so he called back. The person who spoke to him the second time told him he doesn’t need to make an appointment and that he can just drop it off or just show up to the lab. That’s what he did. When he got there, they told him he needed an appointment but it was fine and they would accept his sample but he needed to go check in and pay at building 1. At building one the young lady with colored eyes at the front completely belittled my fiancé for him being told the wrong thing. It’s our first time here and our last. She didn’t even bother shutting the window to belittle him some more with her coworker. It’s not our fault that we were told the wrong thing by multiple people. I only recommend this place if you are okay with not being cared about and okay with being belittled during a time of vulnerability.
It was a year ago today that my husband and I had our first consultation with Dr. Moghadam. After years of dead ends in the military health system, we decided to branch out into the civilian sector for help. I was so excited to get started and impatiently waited for his first available appointment after the new year in 2022. I knew immediately at our appointment that this would be the place we finally found answers and would start our family. In the year since then we had all of our testing done, an egg retrieval, and a successful implantation that led to the birth of my beautiful son just three weeks ago.Throughout the whole process Dr. Moghadam was there with us, giving advice and guidance, leading us through our options and informing our decisions. I felt so secure in his hands and am forever grateful for his expertise- I would still be wishing and praying for my baby that might never come if not for him. Thank you so much!
My husband and I received care from three other fertility doctors in three different states during our fertility journey before we found Dr. Moghadam. I can say that Dr. Moghadam’s expertise extends far beyond what I experienced with other reproductive endocrinology doctors. On our first consultation, he answered our questions thoughtfully, was straightforward and realistic, and I appreciated his honesty. He did not leave us without hope because he provides options. You may occasionally experience a long wait in his office, so I recommend calling the office to see if Dr. M is running behind if you are on a tight schedule. The office staff and nurses are courteous and polite. When I had a question for the nurse, I received an answer within a few hours or the next business day if I called late afternoon. If it’s an urgent situation, the doctor provides a number to call or text, and you will have an answer quickly. I felt that everything was explained thoroughly to my husband and me about payment, medications, injections, etc. Fertility procedures come with specific scheduling of medication, and it’s overwhelming, but the nurses and Dr. M write everything down for you. Dr. M takes the time to give you his undivided attention when he’s with you during your appointment. After many, many years trying to have children, my husband and I welcomed our son in Feb. 2022 with the help of IVF. I’m so thankful for Dr. M and his staff, and I highly recommend him as a fertility doctor. I trusted his process and expertise, and we have our healthy baby.
Dr. M is the perfect combination straightforward, realistic, and kind. He’s not a high pressure salesman. We actually waited a year after our initially consultation before swallowing our pride, realizing he was right, and beginning IVF. (Side note: other clinics charged an arm and a leg just for a consultation. Dr. M was free). The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with our many questions. As happy as we were to graduate from the clinic, we genuinely missed seeing everyone at AFI.If you need any more convincing, Dr. M & staff gave us this perfect baby girl in the picture. Not enough stars to reward for that.
My wife and I are currently working with Dr. Moghadam and his team at AFI.Its been a long, stressful, expensive and painful (for my wife) process. None of that is the fault of Dr. M or AFI. It is the result of my wife having some previous surgeries (appendix & scar revisions) making having children much more difficult that we had originally hoped for. Unlike other reviewers, I wont blame Dr. M or AFI for things that are outside of their circle of control or influence.Prior to going to AFI we went to the best known fertility clinic in the Austin area. It was a huge operation with a huge staff of people working there. The meeting with the doctor there was not only disturbingly awkward due to their manner of carrying a conversation, but it was a total waste of our time. When I asked direct questions I got evasive answers. When I reworded the questions I got more evasive answers. I didnt expect them to know exact outcomes, but they couldnt even give what Id call a professional opinion of how to proceed under the circumstances. Worse still, it felt like they were running the same strategy on each patient, despite many couples having very different, wants, needs and medical circumstances. We then found AFI and what an incredible improvement it has been! Im picky about doctors and frankly people. I can smell a fraud, fool or fake person quickly and I never got the slightest whiff of any of this with Dr. MAfter reading every review I have to say that obviously the vast majority of people are incredibly happy and appreciative of what Dr. M and his staff do.The few low ratings appear to be from people that are from a 2 categories:#1- Those that didnt get in immediately or are upset about wait times that have improved greatly over the years. To those Id say, he takes enormous efforts in not rushing people in and out so he can address all questions and concerns to custom tailor every treatment to each patient. That does take a while to do. It also means hes putting in more time per couple or person than any doctor Ive ever met or even heard of. Life Tip: We learned to try to set appointments during days and times that are less busy. While we have waited a bit a many times, I wouldnt consider the time out of the norm for other doctor offices. If you are worried about wait times, block off more time for appointments. Adulting = planning.#2- The second group appear to be people who often admitted in reviews to being hyper emotional and/or in the middle of a mental breakdown prior to the visit to the AFI office. Dr M is not a psychologist. AFI offers honest, fertility options to help people have families. Despite what some reviewers Dr M is a very compassionate man who has absolutely dedicated his life, and as far as I can tell... his existence to helping others have children. The man will call you on his cell phone after work hours (if you let him) even after 8 pm to help answer your questions, plan next steps and discuss any concerns you may have. Lets all be rather honest here, doctors almost never do this. He applies the countless experiences hes had with patients and the steps that it took to reach a successful outcome. His mind is always working to find the solution to each persons fertility puzzle (my words not his). I bet that even when the man sleeps, he is working out how to best help his patients. When he tells stories of success and failures he does so with true passion, thoughtfulness and a hope to find success. He empathizes so much with patients that AFI bends over backwards for you if you continue to have difficulty in early success. You dig deep they do too.As I once told him, most people never find what they are truly meant to do in this world. Dr. Moghadam most certainly has done exactly that and hes doing precisely what hes on this Earth to do.If you want to be treated like a real person by a very smart, experienced and incredibly dedicated doctor who will be honest with you and never tell you half-truths to shadow reality...this is your doctor and your fertility clinic.
Dr. M is one of the best doctors in Austin, hands down! He is professional, knowledgeable, funny, and friendly! We have been working with him in our IVF Journey for over 3 year and we are very happy with his practice. His nurses and office manager Mary are also wonderful! Very responsive and kind! We are grateful to AFI for all they have done for our family!
Well, after treatment for endometriosis seven years ago and unexplained infertility since, we have spent thousands in IVF and other treatments. Doctors have told us that our procedure at this clinic accidentally sterilized my wife through cauterization. Wish we could go back and not have done this procedure.
This review is long overdue, but in the midst of raising and enjoying our 2-year-old, I havent had much time. Dr. Moghadam helped make us parents. After my initial appointments, he noticed some issues that were possibly preventing us from becoming pregnant, and he laid out a number of options, but was realistic with us too. I always appreciated his frankness and encouraging, yet realistic, approach throughout the process. I cried the day we graduated from the clinic to return to my regular OB-Gyn. I am so thankful for Dr. Moghadam and everyone in his clinic who made this overwhelming, terrifying, uncertain process manageable and (fortunately) so successful. We could never thank Dr. Moghadam enough for helping us become parents the most sassy, vibrant, caring and loving little girl.
You are in the BEST hands with Dr. Moghadam!I first went to Dr. Moghadam almost 10 years ago. (Yes, this review is long overdue) After interviewing a few fertility clinics in Austin, I found Dr. Moghadam. He treated my husband and me with kindness, compassion, and understanding. I didn’t feel like a number or a dollar sign. I felt like a human being, and I felt hope to being one step closer to building a family. After all the tests, facts, and the fertility plan, my husband and I took some time off… A year later, we went back and started the IVF process. We are forever thankful for Dr. Moghadam. Thanks to his help, I gave birth to a healthy baby girl in 2014. 6 years later, here we are again, ready to expand our family. I did a frozen embryo transfer on April 1st, and I am happy to say I am 8 weeks pregnant today thanks to this amazing man and his team.IVF is emotionally, physically, and financially hard. I am happy that I had Dr. Moghadam and his team to help me process it all.Yes, there may be a wait sometimes, but I know this… when he is in the room with me, he gives me his 100% attention and care. Trust me; it is worth the wait. While I am waiting, he is helping someone else get one step closer to their dream of creating a family. Dr. Moghadam, thank you for your care, knowledge, and help in this fertility journey.
Dr. Moghadam and his staff were amazing! We had several other attempts with another Austin RE large practice and the difference was night and day. Dr. M takes the time to understand your situation and offer the best plan of action with a logical/data driven approach and he takes the time to explain and answer all your questions. The staff is attentive and they take the time to get to know you and your spouse, you definitely feel the support. We are now the proud parents of our beautiful baby boy!
Couldnt be more pleased with Dr. Mogey and his staff!! My husband and I began our IVF journey in March 2021. We initially went to another clinic who told us our chances of conceiving a child were slim to none. They also pushed us towards options we didnt want to pursue. We were heartbroken and feeling defeated. We decided to get a second opinion and give AFI a try. Were so glad we did! Dr. Mogey is compassionate and caring, but also realistic and doesnt sugar coat. After reviewing our records, he said that having a biological child was definitely an attainable goal! We started our first IVF cycle in July 2021, had our egg retrieval in October 2021, and did our embryo transfer in November 2021. We found out we were pregnant in December 2021 and I just gave birth to a healthy baby boy in August! My husband and I are SO thankful for Dr. Mogey and his expertise, as well as his friendly, caring staff! I will always recommend his office to those who need fertility help/intervention! ♡
My husband and I are forever grateful for the exceptional care we received this past year at AFI. Dr. Moghadam is extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented to the specific needs of his patients, all the while friendly and personable. Dr. Moghadam is super accommodating and worked with our tight schedule due to my husband being in the military and traveling a lot. As much as we hope we can get pregnant naturally in the future, it is reassuring to know we have Dr. M and the AFI staff to trust on our journey!
The people, the facility, and the love Austin Fertility Institute provides are incredible! Yes, we would wait about an hour every appointment to be seen...but Drs Moghadam and Crawford, Jessica, Michelle and the rest of the staff are WORTH the wait. There was a lot of anticipation meeting Dr Moghadam after 6 months of trying with another Dr, and I was taken back. He is forceful, direct, and lays everything out - left me speechless. I quickly realized his only concern was growing our family without wasting time, money or hope. He delivered! We just gave birth to two identical girls, thanks to Dr Moghadam and Dr Crawford! Suck up the one con of long wait time. If you are reading reviews on what fertility specialist to choose, stop reading and make an appointment.
My husband and I cannot express our love for Dr. M & the AFI staff. After several unsuccessful treatments & IVF cycles with another hospital & physician, we turned to Dr. M for a second opinion. After reading some other reviews, I have to say he DOES NOT go straight for the most invasive option. He goes for what will give you the best chance based on your situation & previous treatments. We went forward with IVF & got more embryos than we had from our previous cycles with the other RE thanks to their great lab & Dr. Ms expertise. After our first cycle failed, he did a hysteroscopy where he found a small septum in my uterus. After it was resected & I healed, our 2nd transfer was successful & my husband & I now have our baby boy. Ive also read some bad reviews regarding Dr. Ms bedside manner. He has great bedside manner! He is smart & assesses the entire situation, what my husband & I love about him is that he is honest but is always kind & patient. We have nothing but love for Dr. M & the entire AFI team. My husband & I are originally from another state, we moved to Texas to start a family not knowing the difficulty we would have. Im convinced it was fate that we moved to find Dr. M!
With this being our first experience with infertility counseling and treatment, we were extremely lucky to have Dr. Moghadam as our doctor. Yes, there are long wait times. However, this is due to him being very thorough and taking his time to educate and answer all questions. After one successful round of IVF, we are happily expecting our first child, all thanks to Dr. M and his staff.
There is something incredibly fragile and delicate about being an infertility patient. Both my husband and I are nurses and we truly thought that having almost a decade of nursing experience would somehow make this journey easier to handle. It for the most part hasn’t. Even before Dr. Moghadam was our doctor (we initially saw another MD in the practice that has now left), he was making us laugh and feel at home in a place that no matter what positive mindset you try and go in with, feels heavy. I’ve worked professionally with MD’s across specialties, but Dr. Moghadam has a level of empathy and compassion that I’ve never seen before. When you talk to him you feel like a human being, not just another number in another room. He takes his time with every single patient and he is worth every second of wait time because you know when it’s your turn, he’ll take his time with you too. Through the incredible highs and lows of infertility, the thing that makes the difference is the person sitting across the desk from you. Dr. Moghadam’s perfection comes with his ability to also be imperfect. To see when maybe he hasn’t said exactly the right thing and changes course to correct it. He is self aware in a way most people even aren’t, much less doctors. And I can see that self awareness, that profound empathy, in his expressions when he tries to make me happy or when he tries to lesson the incredible weight of loss. It’s that, that little thing in his personality that makes him the best doctor I’ve not only had personally, but met in my career. I couldn’t dream into existence a better doctor to be right next to us as we navigate the intense journey that is infertility treatment.
Dr. Moghadam and team were wonderful during my visits there. He was very thorough and helped me understand every step of the process. I am so happy he helped me have my now 6 month old rainbow baby. I am glad that I found him through reading his wonderful reviews!
If you are debating between fertility clinics and doctors- look no further- Dr. M is the best! I was originally a patient at one of the largest fertility clinics in Austin and after the second appointment, I was advised to schedule IVF over the phone with no explanation of the process or budget. Dr. M had very high reviews so we decided to schedule a consultation with him and what a difference the experience was. You can tell that he genuinely cares for his patients and takes true pride in his work. After the first consultation, we scheduled a session where he went over a presentation on what to expect for IUI/IVF etc. and gave us an itemized cost breakdown before we left. He also gives you his cell phone so you can text or call after business hours if needed- and he is prompt to respond! He is also very financially cognizant and I found more reasonable than our last clinic. If you arent responding well to the medications, Dr. M may advise not to proceed finishing the cycle/egg retrieval and re-starting on another date. This isnt the case with other doctors and patients end up having to pay for the full cycle/surgery amount only having to repeat the process again which is very costly, not to mention an emotional and physical strain. He analyzes, strategizes and makes adjustments to get the best results- this is why we believe we had such success after having a very low AMH level. The office staff as well as the nurses are extremely nice and welcoming, always fast to respond to any calls or questions. You may wait a little bit for your appointment sometimes but rest-assured, it is worth it as you are getting the best care. We will be forever thankful to Dr. M and his staff for helping us make our family goals possible!
Dr. Moghadam was incredibly knowledgeable, excellent bedside manner, truly cared for my husband and Is outcome and always helpful. He provided a direct phone number to contact him at anytime, which we had to do. He was always caring and very helpful each time we spoke with him. He knew my situation inside and out and was always present and attentive to me each time we saw him. Having gone through IVF with another doctor and having a very negative experience and outcome, I was blown away by Dr. Moghadam. My husband and I came to Dr. Moghadam afraid to keep going but after our initial consult with Dr. Moghadam we felt optimistic. Dr. Moghadam was an exceptional doctor. I am so glad that we were able to work with him. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking infertility care!
I have never experienced any Western medical practice that has been as warm, helpful, and professional across the board as AFI. The staff works tirelessly and is a one of a kind gem in the field of medicine. Ive been postponing writing this review because I feel there is nothing I can say to truly convey the overwhelming gratitude and respect I have for Dr. Moghadam, the expert nurses, and incredible staff at AFI. They are like family and hold a special place in my heart.Dr. Moghadam is a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and talented doctor. He is generous and kind, and when you are with him you will feel like you are his only patient. I never felt rushed, and I grew to respect any long wait times because I knew someone else was receiving excellent care. I was a patient for a couple of years (took many months off, went in and out of treatment), and I considered several different treatment options during that time.I was 41 when I started going to AFI and 43 when I got pregnant through IUI with my own eggs. Dr. Moghadam never led me to believe my chances were higher than they were, and they were not high. I also had low ovarian reserve. He talked me through several consultations and was understanding of my need to have things explained multiple times in various ways until I felt complete and satisfied with my decision to continue to pursue IUI. I am so grateful for his frankness, kindness, and willingness to sit with me and spend the time I needed to feel good about my decision. Im afraid the outcome would have been different for me without having had this experience to come to some acceptance of my situation. His communication was informative of all avenues I could pursue without being pressuring.I had visited another local RE, large and prominent practice in the city for a consultation, who attempted to sway me toward donor eggs immediately. I felt the other doctor was a one treatment fits all for women in their 40s. On the flipside, Dr. Moghadam was honest about my chances, but he still approached me as an individual and not a statistic. AFI is not a one treatment fits all type of practice. You are selling yourself short if you do not at least make a consultation with Dr. Moghadam. The fertility journey is difficult, and you deserve to be treated respectfully as a person during this time and not as a number. The staff was immensely supportive of me, helping ease the emotional pain of such a difficult journey. I cannot express how integral Becky was to my journey. She is also incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in the field of fertility and spent a great amount of time detailing information for me--patiently. Her expertise, patience, love, and care were a supportive rock for me when I was in a difficult space emotionally. I am very grateful she was a part of this practice. The journey would not have been the same without her thoughtful encouragement and warm guidance.Jessica was always so calm even when I would call with some ridiculous scheduling dilemma or seeming crisis. It can be rare in a medical office to have the person who greets you, answers your calls, and takes your payment to be consistently lovely. I didnt spend as much time with Jamie, but she was always very friendly and professional. I felt quite comfortable and confident I was in good hands with her. Lisa and Nicole were always gracious and easy to talk to, and they both helped make a stressful time more peaceful. What a gift we have in this city. I cant thank you all enough! In gratitude and blessings - Kay B.
First egg retrieval was successful and first transfer with a healthy embryo resulted in our son! He’s super knowledgeable, data driven, to the point and will ride or die for his patients and what they need. He has an awkward, sarcastic sense of humor, but I loved it!
Dr. Moghadam was so Great! He is very skilled, intelligent, but also very warm and sincere. I selected Dr. Moghadam after meeting with 2 other IVF specialist. I have not regretted that decision and will be back when we are ready for our next baby! I would highly recommend him to any couples looking for an IVF specialist. I dont often leave reviews but I feel so strongly and it is hard trying to decide on what doctor to go to for such a delicate and personal issue. Good luck!
Dr. Moghmaden and staff are exceptionally caring. Dr.Moghmaden can be very straightforward and to the point, but he’s honest about the process and obviously efficient. My husband and I got pregnant the first try with our treatment plan that was created for us. I doubted myself that we would even fall pregnant the first try, but shockingly we did! What really has set apart Dr. Moghmaden’s staff was when I needed updated prescriptions for my thyroid and progesterone ( and first of all he caught my thyroid problem, I have a family history of this as an issue and have suspected this in myself, and was told my levels were “within range” by previous doctors). I misunderstood the new dosing/directions, and even though the office was closed after hours, Dr. Moghmaden called me back and took the time time explain it to me at 6pm on a Saturday night. The pharmacy told me they didn’t have my prescription, and Dr. Moghmaden took the time to call the pharmacy with me on the phone and left the prescription refill instructions over the pharmacy’s prescription hotline for doctors. I really appreciated him going above and beyond for us, the experience has been wonderful thus far. Not sure about the negative reviews on here, because he’s great and he helped my husband and I get pregnant with the least non invasive option which was just me taking medication and using a natural cycle. This was the most economical option and made sense to go this route first. He’s taken the time to explain things, and answer questions. And again he can be straightforward and to the point, but I’d rather someone give me the info cut and dry and be honest than to sugar coat. He’s been very transparent throughout the process and before I’ll be transferred to my OBGYN, I’ll be able to get a blood test that can help indicate any genetic diseases like Tay Sachs or Down’s syndrome. Very thorough and knowledge is power, we already have one child with special needs and if we can plan enough in advance I would like to prepare and plan for any and all outcomes and possibilities. Great job! Love the service here. And the girls are great at blood draws, doesn’t hurt at all. I used to be afraid because blood draws have always felt like a sting before, but not here and that is important because if you see a fertility doctor there are a lot of blood draws! Thank you, Dr. Moghmaden team! And I’m definitely not spelling his name right, forgive me doc. 😬
My husband and I are very thankful for Dr. Moghadam and his staff at Austin Fertility. We came from a very pushy fertility clinic (Aspire/RMA) prior to this experience that pushed most patients towards very expensive IVF. It was an extremely stressful situation and on top of that, the IVF didn’t work.On our initial consultation, Dr. M spent about 2 hours with us not only going through all of our past experiences, but all of the medical records. He listened to us and made us feel at ease. He meticulously found information in our records that the other clinic had failed to point out that actually made us candidates for trying an IUI procedure. (much cheaper and less invasive!).We asked to take the summer months off so we could emotionally recover and Dr. M didn’t talk us out of this decision. He respected our wishes to refocus in a few months after healing. When my husband and I walked out of the meeting, he said it was the first time he really felt a part of this procedure and not just a sperm donor. Dr. M made sure to include my husband in the conversation and make him feel a part of the whole experience. (Something that had been lacking at our previous clinic)When we did come back that Fall, they were ready for us and we started taking meds immediately and had the IUI within a few weeks. Since we had already been through the gamut of shots, calendars, meds, retrieval, etc, we were already physically prepared for anything, but the nurses still sat us down and made sure we knew what to do and gave us a chance to ask clarifying questions. Another great thing about being a smaller, more family-owned practice is that Dr. M has some leeway with medications and since they had a sample available, they were able to save us close to $400 which was a HUGE help and just added to the subsiding of the financial stress of everything.Fast forward - this procedure worked!! but can I say that even if we had had to try an IUI several times, it still would have been MUCH less than IVF. I think knowing we could afford several rounds took away some stress for sure.Once you get the positive pregnancy test, it doesn’t end there! Then, we came in every week to get check ups and have Dr. M spend quality time with us to answer any questions and relieve any worries we had :)Last week, he released us to my ObGYN. I am super sad and even asked if he could be my doctor until I delivered but he obviously needs to focus his specialties towards getting more families pregnant. We are planning on transferring our left over frozen embryo to this facility and seeing him in a couple years! To anyone searching for a fertility clinic, my first advice is don’t feel trapped at the first place you go to visit. I know the initial visits cost a chunk of change, but overall it is a small amount compared to treatment and worth your sanity. You want to feel comfortable at your fertility place and with your doctor. If you come here first after reading this and other reviews, know that there is a reason Dr. M has 5 stars for everything but promptness. You will wait if you are not the first patient of the day, but know it is because he spends quality time with each patient including when he meets with you. He is the kind of doctor I would take any day over someone trying to make their numbers.I hope this helped - good luck with your ventures!!!MPWPs- my husband and I were both 40 years old during all of this :)
Dr. Moghadam is very professional, friendly and full of wisdom. He helped us through our IVF journey and now we’re very happy with a healthy baby girl. We couldn’t have done it without his help. I also want to thank all the staff especially Loretta from surgery center and Gina. We’re forever grateful!!
Doctor Kenneth Moghadam is the best doctor that I have ever seen in my whole life. He is so caring, knowledgeable and excellent. He and his medical staff are amazing. He is the best of the best and the only fertility doctor that we trust. Before to come to see him, we were with another fertility clinic for one year and never had the same attention and results. We highly recommend him without hesitation.
Couldnt be more appreciative to Dr. M and everyone with AFI. Going through IVF is not fun, but I couldnt imagine a better group of people to navigate it with. AFI is a small practice so you become close to the nurses and office staff. It was always so comforting to see friendly and familiar faces instead of nurses I didnt know. I always appreciated Dr. Ms straight forward and no nonsense approach. Hes also the friendliest and funniest doctor! Yes, the wait times in the afternoon can be a little long, but its because Dr. M doesnt rush through time with his patients. AFI is the best and Ill be forever grateful to everyone there!
My husband and I couldnt be more pleased with the excellent care we received at Austin Fertility Institute. Struggling to conceive is not an easy journey, but Dr. Moghadam and his staff helped guide and reassure us throughout the entire process.Dr. Moghadam is exceptionally knowledgable and personable, and is so devoted to his patients that he hands out his cell. phone number (and answers at all hours!). Im certain you wont receive that level of care at just any practice. He is also very confident in his work while remaining realistic with expectations. I never once felt as though I was being misled or placated. Whenever I got anxious about something (often!), Dr. Moghadam was reassuring and took his time, patiently answering my many questions. Thanks, Doc!We also got to know all the ladies at the practice (shout-out to Jamie, Lisa, Becky, Nicole, & Jessica!). We couldnt be more grateful for the personal care that we received. We were truly made to feel like family and were always treated with the utmost care and respect, and never felt like we were just a number. And finally, thank you to Henry and JoJo, the extraordinarily talented embryologists who nurtured our precious cargo for their first five days of life. Its bittersweet to be graduating back to my regular ob, because we love everyone at AFI so much, but are absolutely thrilled that they did their jobs so well that were expecting in August! We are so grateful to Dr. Moghadam, and the entire staff at Austin Fertility Institute, and would highly recommend them to anyone struggling with infertility.
There arent enough words or ways to express how grateful we are to Dr. Moghadam and the AFI team for making our dream come true.Dr. Moghadam is brilliant; he is extremely knowledgeable, detail oriented, straightforward and very thorough with excellent bed side manners. His team is very compassionate and friendly. Everyone took their time to answer our questions, make us feel supported and understood . It is very important to feel comfortable and trust whomever you decide on as an IVF doctor/team, and from the moment we met Dr. Moghadam and his wonderful team we felt at ease. Never once did we question a decision made by him as we knew it was always in our best interest. It was a bitter sweet moment when our dream finally came true and we had to graduate of AFI’s service. We will miss everyone dearly!
I wanted to write a review for a while and I am finally taking the time.Dr Moghadam was recommended by Dr Seeker since we couldnt get pregnant after almost 5 years.Because of AFI and Dr Moghadam we are now 24 weeks pregnant with a little boy.Our experience was absolutely wonderful. He and his stuff were the best we could ever hope for. They made the process of IVF easier. We cant say enough good things about Dr Moghadam, he cares so much for his patients, he is very knowledgeable, he will always take the time you need to explain everything and he will always give you his honest opinion and I really appreciated that.He was the best doctor we could ever wish for and we are so thankful to be now pregnant.Thank you AFI.
We have a babytoday because of Dr. Moghadam. He said to us early on, my goal is to have a successful pregnancy, that is my only focus. We dabbled with aggressive fertility treatments via my wifes previous OBGYN doctor and practice ( a big one...that is north). I would caution anyone from trying fertility treatments at an OBGYN practice: prescribing chlomid or fermara monthly isnt proper treatment for a lot of patients. We wasted many many months following some ridiculously misguided approach by doctors that werent fertility experts. On the flip side, Dr. Moghadam immediately had us on a plan with fertility meds, weekly scans for knowing egg growth and count, subsequently injectable trigger shots, etc. The fact is: we had treatment with Dr. M during 4 pregnancy attempts and were successful in getting pregnant twice. Thats a 50% rate when normal rates are 20% assuming everything else is operating as expected.Dr. Moghadam cares about the results, the patients, and is passionate about what he does. I am frustrated that we didnt find Dr. M sooner in our journey to having a baby and we were going in circles for 10 months under the care of another doctor who said, Oh, we treat infertility cases. When we first started seeing Dr. M, I think he may have been booking more clients than he was able to handle. We would go weekly, and tHere would be times where wed wait an hour for our appointment while we were on time. We eventually just expressed our frustrations directly with Dr M, and said we are always on time, and we want you to do better. He did. We rarely waited more than 30 minutes past our appointment (maybe 25% of the time?). We also started calling prior to the appointment to make sure they werent running far behind.Dr. M is confident, and patient: explains the process and gives lots of background when asked. Do yourself a favor: if you want a baby and are having a hard time, schedule an appointment.
Awful experience with Dr. M and his staff. Long wait times every single visit… we’re talking hours. Then, he was a fake-friendly and tried talking us into IVF right away instead of trying less-invasive routes and treatments. Seemed to us he wanted the big bucks and didn’t have any hope we’d get pregnant without it. He agreed to try other options and they all failed which he blamed on me. Made me cry twice and it was very painful. Well, we left his practice and we went to Dr. Hansard where we got pregnant within two months without invasive treatments! Don’t waste your time nor money with Dr. M.
Most amazing fertility doctor! He is honest and patient. He gives you facts and tells you everything you need to do and is there for you through the whole process. Infertility is difficult to go through and sometimes the answers you get are hard to hear. Dr. Moghamdam is brilliant! He truly cares about his patients.
Its hard to express in words how grateful I am to Dr. Moghadam and his kind staff. After years of fertility issues he was able to get me pregnant 3 times ON THE FIRST TRY with IVF. If you research any IVF statistics its obvious what a phenomenal thing he has done for us. The attention to detail and quality of care is outstanding and worth any drive, wait, or anything else it takes. Coming here was the best decision we could have ever made!
We had our son Elijah in 2011, and unfortunately had tied my tubes after his birth. When Eli passed away at six months old, we were too devastated to breathe, much less find a reproductive specialist to help us move forward. After reading reviews and visiting with Dr. Moghadom and his incredible staff, I felt comfortable taking the first step. I underestimated the emotional strength needed to take on fertility, and would never have found success without the beautiful people that work at AFI. When I was hopeless, they gave me positive energy. When I was frightened, they provided comfort. When I was successful, they cried with me. I have my second son in my arms as I write this. All thanks to Dr. M and the angels that work with him. First try, single embryo transfer. Now thats a good doctor.
This is a long overdue review. Dr Moghadam and his staff are by far the most caring people I have ever come across. During the emotional roller coaster of trying to get pregnant they made us feel like family and walked us through everything step by step. They were available to us at all hours of the day and night and never made me feel stupid for calling with even the smallest of questions or concerns. Because of them we now have a beautiful 6 week old little girl and I cant thank them enough for the blessing that they made possible.
I wish there were 10 stars! That is what I would give Dr. Moghadan and his excellent staff! I am a registered nurse and future grandmother! As a nurse I was extremely confident in the professional, thorough and compassionate care that was provided to my son and daughter in-law. Our situation was unusual as there was an urgent situation due to cancer diagnosis and immediate treatment that was pending the futility procedures, necessary, in hopes of my future grandchildren. All of the staff was professional and provided caring and swift medical care in unmerited timeliness. We will never forget the care that Dr. Moghadan and Becky gave so personally. I highly recommend this practice, they work well together, provide superb medical care, with realistic but hopeful demeanor. Thank you to the entire office, from our growing family to yours. Linda
I can not say enough great things about Dr. M and the staff at Austin Fertility Institute. Dr. M is so upfront and informative about your fertility options and the practice is extremely organized and communicative. What is so nice about AFI is that you will get to actually see Dr. M or the same nurses and staff at every visit which we found is so important for the amount of trust needed during the IVF process. Not only did we have a successful transfer that resulted in a beautiful baby girl, we feel like we found another family at AFI. Stop looking for another feritlity doctor and go with Dr. M!
I would give this doctor and his practice zero stars if I could. I completely relate and agree with Daniel who gave him one star. This man Kenneth Moghadam definitely lacks bed side manners. He has no empathy and he rushes through the consultation. I’m in my early 40s and I’ve been through a few IVF cycles but it had been a few years since my last and this man was rushing me to tell him about each cycle like how many embryos, how many eggs, how many fertilized, how many didn’t for each cycle and I couldn’t just spit it all out...I mean give me a break I don’t have all that engrained in my head to immediately give exact details (I mean that’s why medical records exist and are reviewed), it takes time to give that information especially if it’s the first thing he asks after his weak attempt to an introduction. He started trying to cut me down for not remembering the details of each cycle telling me it wasn’t his first rodeo as if I was wasting his time. This was by far the worst experience I’ve had with any IVF doctor. I was initially shocked that I was treated this way, in fact I wasn’t sure if it was just me being sensitive or overreacting to the whole situation but after I gave it more thought and read other reviews I realized nope I was right in what I felt, this man is not kind and lacks empathy. Awful experience! I would never recommend to anyone.
Being told that you and you husband cant have children the natural way is shocking and disappointing in itself, but then finding out more than half way through the IVF process that you have cancer is traumatic. Dr. Crawford and both her staff at the South office and North office were extremely supportive and caring. They worked with us and helped us to make our dreams of having a child come true. We recently gave birth to our our son and could not be happier and more in love. I can not say enough about their professionalism, skills and knowledge. I have referred a friends and they too were able to have their dream come true. Thank you Dr. Crawford and staff from the bottom of our hearts!
AFI provides extremely detailed, personalized care! I switched to Austin Fertility Institute from Texas Fertility Clinic. I found Dr. Moghadam at AFI to be more detailed and thorough in his approach on our specific fertility issues and needs. We had multiple tries and each time Dr. M used what he learned to get us closer to our goals. He takes time to review the data with you before making decisions. A few specifics I really appreciated about AFI: 1) The communication between staff is excellent; they are in sync with each other and across AFI, the Surgery Center, and the Embryologists; 2) The team was very patient with my questions and needs – Jaime and Amy are great RNs and were always willing to answer every question; Jessica, Michelle, Alayna, and Nicole were extremely understanding, helpful and on top of their game 3) Dr. M will get to know you and your history. There was no question I asked that he had not already thought through. If you spoke to Dr. M years from now he would still be able to recite my specific fertility journey in detail from memory. And I was always able to speak to him same day. Sometimes he even personally called with my Lab Results! He runs a tight ship and it shows with how great everyone works together.Be prepared for crazy long waits in the waiting room. For us it was all worth it – our little man is due in April!
We LOVE everyone at AFI. Not only was Dr. Moghadam the best and most caring doctor Ive been too, the staff and nurses were also the best and most caring staff. I cant thank them enough for helping us expand our family to a party of three. We are forever grateful and will send anyone with fertility issues their way.
The staff at Austin Fertility Institute are some of the best medical professionals Ive worked with (and Ive worked with a lot!). Theyre patient and thoughtful. They dont push anything on you or make false promises. Youre in the drivers seat, and Dr M is there to make sure youre making an informed decisions. Highly recommend.
Doctor Moghadam and his staff are incredible. Start your journey with them NOW!A few hightlights to share:1. Lasting impressions: Dr M is straightforward/direct/blunt, very fast talker, pragmatic. If you are looking for someone to baby you or be overly empathetic, he is not the one! I personally think that is a good thing. He is extremely focused and is going to educate you, inform you of your options and allow you to ask questions at any time. Makes him efficient in his care plan and you prepared for the possiblities and process. Staff is friendly, informative, and very consistent with answering the phone. His expertise to your fertility journey is like a mechanic to a car. You tell him your goals and concerns, he does tests, gives you diagnosis and options, and at some point you have to trust that he is providing some of the best service out there and that,in time, you will be on the road with your baby. However, conception, implantation, and human bodies in general are extremely complex so there can never ever be a guarantee for anybody that (even with the best technology out there) you will be successful. Do know that what you CAN control is who you work with and for the things you can control, your chances are increased by working with such a skilled doctor.*AFI provides flow sheets that include information such as when to take medication, follicle size, whent to come back for pregnancy test, etc. And they have a great patient portal to keep up with lab results, appointments, etc.2. There is always a wait time. Be patient and be prepared for it. The fertility office has to adapt to all the changing conditions of each of their patients. This means that there may be multiple patient bookings for the same time. Not to judge, but, if you cant handle waiting on the doctor, you should definitely work on your patience before having kids. Caveat, there is definitely a difference between being impatient and struggling to balance the significant time it can take to complete the visits in your day. However, when it is your turn, you have the doctors full attention.3. Payment is always up front. This is a good thing. Prevents possible billing issues down the line. Also he is very fair in the way he bills. All fertility treatment (in the US) is expensive. However, the treatment rates are often reduced if you require more than one or two cycles.4. My wife and I are a same sex couple trying to get pregnant at the same time. Yes we are walking the fine line between brave and crazy 😋. My wife is successfully pregnant and I am on my second round of treatment. Pregnancy test next week! No matter the outcome, I know for certain Dr M and his staff provided the best care to help us achieve our family plan. And technically, we are already overjoyed with the one baby on the way! Our dreams are well on their way of coming true.Thank you Austin Fertility Institute!Nina and Della 11/27/2019
My first experience with Dr. Moghadam was when he assisted my OB/GYN with a surgery. I had polyps in my uterus, and was having trouble getting pregnant. I had had irregular periods ever since I started them, and no one could ever tell me why. At my pre-op appointment with him, Dr. M diagnosed me with Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). After sitting down with me in his office and explaining what PCOS is and how it manifests, I completely understood why my periods had always been wacky! It was a relief to finally know, although it made me wonder why no one else had been able to see it, when it only took him one visit! After working with my gyno from another 6 months to try to get pregnant, I finally went back to Dr. M. What I love about him is that he takes time to sit down with you in his office, even after an exam, and explains things and lets you ask questions. His staff is wonderful and caring. While it is a busy office, I always felt that I got the time I needed to understand everything. After our first IVF course, I am so happy to report that my husband and I are expecting our first child. It was not an easy experience, but I felt supported and cared for the whole way. I would recommend Dr. Moghadam and his staff whole-heartily to any seeking further assistance in their journey to start or expand a family! I only wish he delivered babies, as well as help create them! :)
I really cant say enough about Dr. Crawford and Austin Fertility Institute (AFI)! My husband and I are a young, active, military couple and when we were referred to AFI we really didnt know what to expect. Starting on your fertility treatment journey is scary and stressful, but our experience was nothing short of amazing from the first phone call to the last appointment! The nursing staff is warm, caring, and extremely attentive - that had such a huge positive impact on us. That wonderful environment doesnt stop with the nurses - Dr. Crawford was able to take a situation, that at times can feel hopeless, and provided the hope that we needed to face our challenges and eventually help us start our family. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and committed to every patient she sees and its so apparent every time you meet with her.We started seeing Dr. Crawford in late October 2016 and by early December 2016 we had decided on a fertility treatment plan and started on our way through our first round of IUI. We were very fortunate and we had a successful first round of IUI and Im currently 24 weeks pregnant with twin boys! The care that both my husband and I received while working with Dr. Crawford and the staff at AFI will remain unmatched. They truly care about their work to help families in their fertility journeys. I absolutely recommend this team, it will be the best decision you make for you and your growing family!
I just happened upon Dr. Moghadams new office as I visited another doctor and I am glad I went in. I have been doing fertility treatments for 10 years, numerous doctors and surgeries. I was successful with IVF once before and was told by another doctor that I should just be happy that it worked once and move on. Not Dr. Mogie! Him and his staff went out of their way to help us have another beautiful daughter. They knew me just by my face when I walked in the door, they called me on the weekends to see how I was doing and give me lab results. They always had time for me. I remember staying after hours just to talk with Dr. Mogie and he never complained. I love Becky!! She ran that office with professionalism and compassion and a sense of humor. Henry and Melissa are the bomb as well!! Such nice people. I plan on visiting often just to say hi and show off the perfect work they did, our daughter Mallory. Thanks to everyone and for putting up with me!! You wont be forgotten.
Going through IVF is a rock road with highs and lows. It was very challenging for me emotionally and the team at AFI was 100% supportive. Dr. M was sound and knowledgeable. Yes, there were a few times we waited in the waiting room a bit longer than we would have liked. We learned to budget our time and account for a potential wait. Towards the end of our time with them I could tell time was getting managed better and our waits were shorter. As patients we never know what they are dealing with behind the scenes. What I do know is we were successful on our 1st try of IVF. We have a strong and healthy baby boy who is on the 90% percentile. Thank you AFI Team!!
I would and do recommend anyone pursuing infertility treatment to Dr. M and team. Every person at Austin Fertility Institute took the time to get to know our needs and met them every time. Dr. M evaluated our level of fertility knowledge and understanding of healthcare; this allowed us to fully grasp the education he provided. Austin Fertility Institute as a whole was extremely knowledgeable, available for questions and happy to guide us through this stressful journey.I cannot thank this team enough for the gift of my two beautiful boys! After our last IUI, Dr. M asked, So you two going to ride off into the sunset with these two babies? I immediately said yes! However, since he and his team made it such a wonderful experience...we are discussing a 3rd!Thank you Austin Fertility Institute!
Where do I begin my journey. I had been to 3 fertility doctors and this doctor was my last hope. He was honest with me from the beginning and told me it would be not an easy journey but he would guide me through it. He also told me that if it didnt happen that I would have to come to peace with God. There were long waits in the waiting Room which I totally understood. With fertility you never know when someone is going to need a procedure done so there were times that we did have to wait so others could have their turn. We were canceled our 1st time but I knew that my doctor knew what he was talking about. We went through the 2nd round of stimulation had developed 14 eggs at the age of 39. 6 did not survive And then within 2 days 2 more did not survive. We have the genetic testing completed and we had 2 good embryos Both girls which we were happy with anything. The nerves of the day of the embryo being transferred to all the emotions through the whole process the 10 day waiting period to know if youre pregnant. If every little thing thats going on with your body is a sign. I will tell you hands off that this doctor is the best doctor he answered every question in every concern that I had and when he tells you that hes there for you he is there for you. His nurses and staff are beyond helpful encouraging and a blessing to our family. IVF is not easy and you have to be prepared for that. Thank you doctor for everything! With our first transfer we are happy to say we are pregnant with a baby girl! Now here is to the 1st trimester 🥰Lots of love,The YOES family
Thank you Dr. Moghadam and staff. My wife and I are so thankful for all you did. You told me we would have a baby within a year and I am now holding my little baby in my arms. Forever grateful for you. Thank you for all the information and your aggressive take on getting us pregnant. I know everyone’s experience will be different and everyone has different health issues but take it from us, go to him, and stick with him. He will do everything in his power to get you the baby you have always dreamed of. He does his job and he does it well. You will not regret having him as your doctor.
I need to give some back story for everyone to understand what this doctors standard of care means to me. I’ve been trying to get pregnant since January of last year and We previously have done one failed round of in vitro at a hospital elsewhere with no extra embryos for a second try. Currently in a second full round of in vitro with that same hospital with doubled medications in hopes for more eggs retrieved. The hospital is now canceling all egg retrieval surgeries due to increases in covid numbers and they consider egg retrieval elective. They offered to do the retrieval without sedation (barbaric) or cancel me and only get refunded for the procedure cost so we would lose about $8,000 at least not to mention the days taken off work for Appointments and the discomfort and anxiety of injections and the entire process.I’m one day away from egg retrieval surgery and with the threat of cancellation I called numerous in vitro doctors from Dallas to Austin to see if there was any chance to plead my case for a last minute egg retrieval as I have already completed the trigger shot. Dr. Moghadam not only was the only Doctor Who responded but he basically did a full phone consult in the evening and heard all of my concerns and even developed a last-minute plan to establish care in hopes for an egg retrieval so that this entire process has not been a complete waste. His patient care went above and beyond during such dire circumstances and I wish I would have used him as my fertility doctor from the start. I highly recommend him for his patience, compassion, and flexibility.
Absolutely amazing experience. After years of many miscarriages, endless heartbreak and no explanation from anyone we found Austin Fertility Institute. From the office staff to the doctors, we always felt extremely welcomed and informed. They would even bend over backwards and sometimes stayed extra hours for us knowing we would make the hour and a half drive from out of town. Fast forward and we now have a healthy 1 month old baby boy. Our family wouldn’t be complete with out Austin Fertility Institute.
This is the best experience I have ever had with a medical practice. The staff is sensitive, laid back, and incredibly helpful. Dr. Moghadam is quick on his feet, informative, and his bedside manner is priceless. It is also important to note that Dr. Moghadam skipped the checklist that other doctors have subjected me to (unnessesary painful tests and diagnostics), and got to the root of the problem immediately. Good people.
I read a few of the bad reviews and I wanted to supply my experience and counter argument: I am in my 40s. I went to this Dr after 3 MCs and needing help because my time is running out. I learned a few things. He is a very busy man. He is involved in all steps of the fertility process and no step is delegated to a lesser qualified doctor. This is a plus for me. But it means that he doesn’t have a lot of time to talk about the emotional hardships that you have been through and if you have come to see him, you certainly have your share of losses! Save that for your partner and give him the facts and he will do everything within his power to make sure you have a baby! My husband was very impressed with his to the point manner and frankly I think that is why he is successful. He takes a loss in stride and simply put determines the best course of action it focuses on the product. Also he keeps in mind the financial hardships that reproductive medicine can have.I came and was demanding IVF because I didn’t want another loss, but he argued that I needed to try lesser expensive measures first based on his evaluation of all my tests and levels. I shut up and LET HIM DO HIS job and sure enough I eventually got pregnant and I didn’t need IVF and so I ended up saving 1000s because I simply stepped back, put my emotions aside and left him do what he was trained and experienced with. This Dr has a LOT of patients. Sometimes there was a wait to see him, but this just reinforced that he was IN HIGH DEMAND!! Sure, you can go see someone who will be sympathetic with you or has all the time in the world to listen to your woes, but does this actually mean that they are successful in the product. I doubt so. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for the best course of action and wants a baby.
My wife and I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Crawford and the staff at AFI! We have only been a patient with Dr. Crawford since June, but this has been the best experience by far that we have had with a fertility specialist. We were previously working with Texas Fertility Center and had experienced 3 failed IUI attempts with them since January. Although this is not necessarily an abnormal situation for some couples, every negative pregnancy test just left us feeling more and more defeated. We did not feel that we were getting all of the information and resources that we could have had in order to help us achieve a successful IUI attempt. It felt a lot like a very big box operation and we were just another number at TFC. We consulted with our OBGYN about our situation and asked her a few of the questions that were not getting answered by TFC. After going through all of our concerns and questions, she ended up referring us to Dr. Crawfird at AFI. We were not sure that we wanted to start completely over with a new doctor and new office, but we set up a consultation just to get a feel for AFI.This was the best decision that we have ever made! Dr. Crawford made us both so feel incredibly comfortable during our consultation and she answered every single question with confidence and assurance. She informed us that we had other options with an IUI that would help to increase our chances and she laid out the costs for all of the different possibilities. My wife and I decided during our consultation that we were definitely going to be switching to AFI and trusting them with helping us to get pregnant. We started our cycle with them a few weeks later in June and I am happy to say that we are now expecting our first child in March 2018. Dr. Crawford got us pregnant with our first attempt at AFI!! I think we are both still in a bit of shock, but we are so overwhelmingly grateful for Dr. Crawford and the entire staff at AFI! You guys have forever changed our lives and there are not enough words of gratitude that we can say to show our appreciation. We are incredibly excited for the arrival of our little man and cant wait to bring him into AFI and introduce him to everyone!THANK YOU, THANK YOU , THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!
First let me start off by telling you a little bit about my fertility journey. On August 16, 2008 I married my soul mate. After a year of trying to conceive on ourselves we decided to seek medical help. I began my journey with a doctor in Long Beach California. Dr. Choa seemed like a very nice and pleasant Dr. but after a few months I realized she didn’t care much what I have to say. During this time I weighed 246 pounds and Dr. Chow refused to intervene in helping us to get pregnant. She mentioned to me that if I loved my husband I would lose the weight and then try to get pregnant. She placed me on metformin which only made me feel worse about myself. She diagnosed me with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Finally after not getting the adequate attention from her I decided to drop her as my OB/GYN. After two years of trying on our own I met Dr. Manos in California. Dr. Manos decided that it wasn’t in his hand and referred me to a reproductive endocrinologist. I was referred to Dr. Lee in West Minister California. After three months on Clomid and no response to the medication he moved on to follistim. It took one month for him to get the correct dosage of Follistim. Finally he said I ovulated on my own and we did an intra-uterine insemination. Two weeks later we find out it didn’t work. I decided that it we should take a break because my husband was leaving to Korea. After a year in Korea we moved to Texas. Here is where I met a God sent Angel. On November 21 I had my first consultation with Dr. Moghadam. Yes we waited a little too mean him however I understand he like to take his time with his patients. When we spoke to Dr. Moghadam he was sincere and honest with us about the treatment we would need in order to conceive. We made the conscious decision to have an investigative surgery to check my uterus and ovaries. I’m glad we did this step because I had polyps in my uterus that wouldn’t allow a baby to attach to my uterus. I also had ovarian drilling. The surgery went smooth and I recall before I fell asleep Dr. Moghadam made me smile and laugh and helped me relax since it was my first surgery ever. Finally in January we decided to start trying to conceive. Dr. Moghadam advised us to try on our own for one cycle on Follistim and hCG trigger shot. Unfortunately it didn’t work, but Dr. Moghadam told us not to give up and to maybe try for IUI. Which, we did. We tried twice and on the last and final third try I was ready to give up. I had already applied for a loan to move on to IVF, but Dr. Moghadam said not to lose hope. He believed that the third time I would end up pregnant. After endless nights of crying we went ahead and tried the IUI. Two weeks later I walked into the office to take my blood test to prove if I was pregnant or not. I for sure thought it was a failure and I was positive we would have to move on to IVF, but again Dr. Moghadam walked towards me and said, “This is not the time to give up. Let’s take this test and if it’s not the result we want then we’ll move on to IVF if that’s what you want.” At that moment I felt like I crying because he was the only one who didn’t give up hope. He drew my blood and said they will call me with the results. As usual I would get a call at 4 PM to let me know I wasn’t pregnant but this day was different. At around 1:30 PM on May 11th I received a call from Becky the office nurse as she gave me the surprise of my life. She informed me that I was pregnant.I am currently 14 weeks and five days pregnant. I am beyond thankful because God sent Dr. Moghadam into our lives so that our wonderful miracle could be possible. Every time I speak to a friend or anyone struggling with fertility I referred to Dr. Moghadam because I know he genuinely cares about his patient.Thank you and God bless.Mrs. L Garmon
Despite the amazing reviews, I feel compelled to share my story with Dr. Moghadam. It took about 2 years for me to be able to share this bc it affected me so terribly and I think people should know the whole truth about him.About 2 years ago, my old supervisor referred me to this Dr. I was excited to see another doc as this was the first time in a long time that I thought, I could try this again, after taking a break for a couple years. Since initially starting fertility treatments, I went to a few doctors but I had only felt really comfortable with one - Kaylen Silverberg. He was amazing, compassionate, caring, empathetic, everything youd expect in a fertlity doctor; yet I wasnt getting any success and it was just getting more and more expensive. When my supervisor recommended him, I had renewed hope.I excitedly told my husband at the time, made an appointment and anxiously waited. On the day of the appt. I was so excited , nervous, anxious, scared, just an emotional mess, as I always was when I first met a new doctor. I got to the appointment, checked in, nervous as all get out, at some point I am in tears before I even get in the consultation room because I am scared he will say the worst, like, I cant help you.During the appointment I jut put it all out there. I trusted him by way of my supervisor who had made him seem so amazing, I felt like I already knew him, but he was not at all what I had anticipated. He was not empathetic at all. Telling him all the procedures I had already had gone through, how it had affected me mentally and in tears (not a blubbering mess, just tears) how I suffered with depression as a result of my infertility.I explained that I had seen a few fertility doctors over the past 10 years, but I had only had extensive work done by one - Kaylen Silverberg. Dr. Moghadam expressed to me that I had seen everyone, now I was coming to him - almost to ask why.The worst thing of all was that, in my haste to make and get to the earliest appointment, I forgot to ask how much I would owe once we checked out. The young lady at the front told me the fee and I immediately remembered that I had not asked about the fee. I was so apologetic and explained that I didnt have the funds on me but I could run to the bank in person since I didnt have my debit card on me, which is why I couldnt just pay there. (YES THAT WAS MY FAULT) I also asked if it would just be easier to bill me. The woman was acting like she didnt want us to leave and come back so I asked if they could just set it up as a bill me so I could either pay it over the phone or come back. I explained that I just didnt have it on me. at the moment. At this point I am so embarrassed, bc i have the money, but it looks like and I am being treated as if I am lying. The young lady says let me go ask the doctor if we can make an exception I say great.I dont know what the lady went back and told the doctor but 15 seconds later, this guy comes literally screaming around the corner NO, NO, NO! I was so confused because first I thought he was kidding so I started smiling at him, then he says (still yelling, mind u the office is so small and yes, there were other patients in the lobby waiting to be called) THIS IS YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT, HOW ARE YOU NOT GOING TO PAY ME, NO NO NO! I could not contain myself, I just immediately started crying again and my ex-husband ended up using his company card for work to pay for the consultation. As we left, a nurse was also leaving. I was still in tears uncontrollably, it was like my eyes were just pouring no matter how much I tried to be calm. The nurse got on the elevator with us and apologized profusely. She was so embarrassed by the way he had treated me; she heard the entire occurrence and said she didnt understand why they wouldnt just let me go run to the bank or call in the payment when I got home with my card. She hugged me and was damn near in tears as well. There is more to being a doctor than making money...I pray this doesnt happen to anyone else.
Where to begin...Its been a long journey for myself and my husband. We have been trying to get pregnant for almost 8 years now. And thanks to Dr. Moghadam and his wonderful staff they have helped make this happen. Even know its still early and we are just starting our second trimester we just know this is it. We have had a couple miscarraiges and we have never made it this far in our journey. We cant thank Dr. Moghadam and his staff enough for all their help, concern and determination. They truly are all angels. Iv never in my 41 years ever delt with people that are so caring and give 200% of their time and thoughtfullness in people. They go above and beyond for their patients and I truly love them! They will always be a part of my life and my childs life. Without them we wouldnt be where we are today. So if anyone in another state or here in Texas is looking for a wonderful doctor and staff to go to for fertility issues, then no need to look any further. I wouldnt go to anyone else but Dr Moghadam.Sharon and Jeffrey Turkov
Service from the providing doctors has been good so far. Visited the south office recently and the nurse went from her computer directly to the area where my blood was drawn. She did my blood work and did not wash her hands, use sanitizer nor put on protective gloves. I was really disappointed and concerned that a better protocol was not followed. I did not mention it to the nurse bc I didnt feel comfortable telling her how I felt. I hope this review is read and that ANYONE who takes a blood at these offices washes their hands or puts on protective gloves.
I received your resppnse (I had exceeded the character limit on my original review so I had to start over) and I truly feel the issue was miniminzed by saying we dont remember . Well, I was referred there by a patient of yours named Nesrine. She was my supervisor. I am definitely in your records. If this is a legitimate review... really....it took.me 2 years to write this bc your doctor traumatized me. That was the lowest I ever felt and I felt like my fight for fertility was worthless. Worst part about your response was there wasnt even an attempt to apologize...I know this review wont change your ever growing practice I just want women to know what they could possibly experience....Update: After writing the update above, I called the office as I had been requested in the response to my earlier review and spoke with whom I believe to be the office manager. She found my name in the system and said she would inform the doctor who wrote the review. She also apologized for them not apologizing in the initial response.Overall:Obviously , this Dr has had success. In my opinion though, this would not be the best place to go if you are thinking about RESTARTING your fertility journey after some time. I thought maybe he didnt want to work over someone elses project. I wish all of the readers the best.
The level of professionalism, concern and care between both Doctors and staff is amazing. I had Dr. Crawford but for Dr. M to personally know me as well and support me was beyond belief. This was by far the best medical treatment I have ever had. I appreciate all of them and all they done for me. Thank you so much.
By far Dr. Moghadam act not less than god for my family , with his knowledge, talents, skills on his stream. I would like to thank all teams(north office and south office)who assist us to become family of 4 with twins. I have long story which I cannot express here . We had struggled 10 yrs to have little one but after I have consulted with this institution I was 99 % sure to achieve what we were looking for. Their accountant is very clear to explain and will not be leaked any of your spend even they return my over deposit after 2 yrs, I wish I could upload my twins pictures here. But you can see us FB jeeten ghising. Thanks once again everyone AFI.🙏🙏🙏 5 stars is less for them ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I was referred to this doctor by the agency that I was working with to be an egg donor. The IP paid for me to come here and be there donor. Which it was my 1st experience and was clueless about the process. I did a lot of research however, it’s never the same until you physically do it. The clinic is ok, they take over an hour to see you. The doctor (Dr. M) seems to care, but like any other MD they want there money. Again I was a donor and he was very up front and did what he needed to do. I am giving 3 stars because I got really sick after the retrieval and I called him to see what I could possibly do and since it was thanksgiving week all he said was “well you are hyper stimulated and I don’t feel like going to the hospital so just stay home and get some rest!” I was 21 at the time and had no clue what I was doing back then so, all I did was cry and stay home. Plus, I don’t even live in Austin so I did not know I had to drive there from houston to get medical treatment. Which that was not even true after a few months passed by I spoke to the agency that I was working with and they told me that I did not even have to go back to him I could have just gone to the ER in Houston! Why did he not tell me that ?? And made me suffer if you have ever taken infertility medicine and hyper stimulate you know how painful that is!
If you are on the fence about switching doctors to get fertility treatment, get off it and schedule an appointment with Dr. Moghadam. His approach is compassionate, caring, aggressive as you are comfortable with, and above all else effective. All of the options and drugs can be confusing but he and his staff help you through whatever process you choose step by step.
Clinical staff is nice, however, the wait times are ridiculous even when you have an appointment. Waiting an hour past the appt time is a luxury. Typically, its 1 and a half hours. Then they spend 5 mins assessing. Not worth the financial and emotional investment. Go elsewhere and do your research on SART data. This place has mediocre success rates.
The doctor and staff are very attentive to your needs as any sort of patient there. I am treated with respect, included in any talk of the procedures, all my questions were answered and explained, and the doctor was very gentle with me which was something I did not receive at other clinics. Thank you for an educational and pleasant experience.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! The staff is so very kind and sincere. Dr. Moghadam is wonderful and informative. I enjoyed every visit even if it was just for a blood draw.
Great doctor, fantastic staff!!! BUT... be prepared to wait at least an hour before youre seen by the doctor. At times the waiting room didnt even have enough room for the patients. If not for that, 5 stars and I would still recommend them!!
I thank god for having this amazing doctors at Austin fertility. I’m so happy with my result. My baby girl is now 3 months❤️❤️❤️
Amazing doctor and staff is an understatement! I cant wait to continue working with them on our fertility journey!!
Words can not describe how awesome Dr. Moghadam is. The staff is very friendly and professional. Wait time is horrible however it is worth the wait.
Doesnt accept Progyny Insurance, making it even harder for anyone to get fertility help.
Worst Dr.!!!!! He has no empathy whatsoever ! I guess he has never been through the pain of losing babies and the fear of never been able to become a mother!
He might be a good doctor but for me this clinic did not work.
Referred here, they lost the record and were not helpful to book an appointment unfortunately.
Great doctor and wonderful staff. We have a beautiful baby boy now.
Mary needs to cut the attitude. Also you need a better system for releasing results.
In this office they make you wait more than an hour to attend and the doctor is very despotic.
Note: this is at building 1 Suite 402... Not building 3!
Nice doctor who cares
Worst Doctor!!!!
Knowledgeable.
