Simply the BEST! Consistency too. I have been with DPC for 20 years. I look forward to every visit. I love the staff. Always personable and professional!
I was referred by RBJ Waller St STD clinic and older friends who were involved w ASA and consoled me the night of test results leading to being cared for at this particular loactio. I was no longer on parents med coverage and unable to use Univ of TX bc I wasnt enrolled FT when this occurred. I was initially appointed as a patient of Dr. Zacharys for a yr 1/2ish. I do not remember what reasoning was that I later was under the care of Dr. Robert Morrison and his nurse (Nancy I think), for remaining 8 ish yrs.He had a second nurse nearing me end w him, but both could not have been more kind and compassionate!Dr. Morrison is a VERY thorough, patient, comforting and suggestive kinda physician. Suggestive that he advises vaccines/meds that are due at apt or soon after, giving his patients the option to complete then, later, or not at all. He doesnt force anything directly or indirectly. And it is always specific by patients health/age/etc reason. I mailed him a hand written TY card when moving to San Antonio not ONLY bc he wrote a doc needed by new infectious disease specialty clinic I would be cared at. He was 1/5 of a handful of specific reasons that made the move difficult then and nostalgic now.I def became comfortable and at ease w him beyond a surface or bare min requirement as a patient level, which surprises me to this day and yet to occur where I am undergoing care today. He monitored and eventually stabilized dosages of each regular med I was prescribed. I was not scared of him in sense of being scolded, but I genuinely grew a level of respect for him much larger than normal respect to any physician/nurse/medical professional. I def took his comments & advise more serious after the first 2 yrs of just showing up bc I had to in order to get meds. I honestly cannot think of ONE negative thing to say about being under his care. He is truly nothing less than the top tier level of GRADE AAA levels of MDs.(I originally tried to facilitate Tiffs Treats delivery and couldnt get specific time/date he was at clinic then and resorted to TY note in mail. I wasnt being cheap!)
I have been a patient for 11 years here and while occasionally there are hiccups I cannot think the staff specifically my NPR Diana, who by the way looks just like Gal Gadot, for keeping me alive and helping me with my medical needs
I have had to reschedule lab apppointments at least twice in the last year due to delays with the lab staff. I dont know what the issue is but perhaps Central Health should consider giving the lab services contract to another company. Quest Diagnostics has completely failed to support their client at this facility.
These people are AMAZING! I’ve only lived in Austin for four months, and I’ve been able to see my doctor several times, make an eye appointment to get new glasses, and see the dentist! What a great team keep up the great work!!!
I have been a patient here since the mid 90’s. It was good back then. Now since Seton has taken over, it’s a train wreck. The vast majority of people that were there, quit once Seton got involved. Absolutely nobody will answer the phone. I’ve been on hold for over an hour and just finally give up. Do not call after 3:30, because you will be ignored until they close. I show up on time for an appointment and there is no place to park to get in. It’s just terrible. No way to communicate with anyone. Can’t get a message to your doctor. They used to have the prompt where you they will call you back at the number you called from so you don’t have to sit on hold. That has never worked, I’ve never received a return call. Now, it’s no longer offered as an option. Wonder why.Now I’m getting charged thousands of $$ for labs. What’s changed? I asked at the front, the lady behind the desk says “bring me those bills, that’s what I take care of....” I did. Nothing. Got nothing in response. Try to call to ask? Good luck, nobody will answer the phone!! It’s just the most frustrating place to deal with.
So far, so good. Even though my first visit was nearly 5 hours, it was well worth what I walked away with. The Staff, the Nurses, the Doctor and the Pharmacists were extremely helpful. They all made me feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you for all that you do and did for me. ❤
They DONT SHARE EXACTLY WHAT RYAN WHITE COVER BESIDES ROUTINE CARE... I FOUND OUT THE NUMBERS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PEOPLE.
This is an Austin based HIV Clinic, excellent doctors and excellent nurses. Highly recommend anybody that does have AIDS or HIV to inquire about this place. Highly qualified counselors that are exceptionally good and have a one-on-one case basis with the patient. They also offer nutritional guides, counseling and support groups.On-site Pharmacy if needed, and walk-ins are welcome. There is an appointment receptionist to set up appointments as well. This place takes very good care to treat the patients with the utmost respect and dignity. For a specialization place this place is top notch.
There is zero sense of urgency at this clinic. I waited over 2 hours just to get blood work done. Not to mention the times that I’ve called before arriving and received no answer, only to arrive and see that all 3 of the individuals at the front office were letting the phones ring while talking amongst each other and scrolling through their phones. Beyond frustrating. Also equally as frustrating when I’ve finally had enough of sitting and waiting and ASK to be seen and THEN I’m taken back to begin my appointment.
The medical staff are very friendly and empathetic, which is why I still travel from temple and why my doctor there has been my pcp for 5 years now. For some reason the security guard is the only person there with a complex. My dude, who hurt you? Your job is sitting at a desk and you still manage to be the most abrasive fixture in the place. Attempt to act like your offering some kind of safety service for the patients and staff, or just like maybe retire?
Necessity to have a vehicle 🚇 is cool; yet the ☎ service is horrible. Which is NOT acceptable (poor) within this notable BUSINESS. If their not going to ANSWER the ☎ lines after 3:30pm. POST THE CLOSING TIMES appropriately typically 8 a.m. to 3:30 pm
Cant say enough about the work wonderful and dedicated people here. In this day and age, where else can you possibly get a 30 to 45 minute hands-on appointment with a caring and knowledgable medical staff? Were blessed to be on their care?
I get my Hormone treatment and also education of what is the Health, Medical and technology Working at light years now days !! Friendly and Lovely staff and nothing but a Good and charming Environment all the way around. No other Health Center Compares to DAVID POWELL COMMUNITY CARE CENTER!! Thanks Guys For EVERYTHING!!!!! Keep the Hard work and Many years to come 🥂❤💋
Again Im in awe of the level of service and dedication offered by the staff. They were able to get me a next day appointment for an urgent care situation and as always were attentive and concerned about my wellbeing.
Very nice personnel. I wish eligibility was easier. It should be in the future anyway. Everyone is eligible, cuz why would you go there if you werent, and couldnt you scam the system anyway since all you need is a letter from your landlord that you are in Travis County and a verbal confirmation saying Im homeless or I have no money and no bank account ?
Everyone at this place shows they care from the heart!
This place doesn’t respect other peoples time. What the point of scheduling people if you never take care of people on time. You will come earlier and still someone will call your name in at least 30 mins after your scheduled time. Thinking about changing healthcare provider…
The Doctors, nurses, and clinical staff that I have dealt with in person at the Powell clinic have all been outstanding in their care and professionalism, and I can’t say enough how much they deserve to be recognized for their heroic efforts. However, my experience with any and all electronic contact with the Powell clinic, or any CommUnity Care entity within the last two years, most especially by telephone, has been abysmal, disrespectful and discouraging. Significant improvement is needed.
Great place I take my friend to go to their Dr. I have been helped by this place as well on getting medicine that I thought cost a are and leg but they were able to help me and make everything right. Clean place and very awesome staff.
While Im thankful for this clinic, getting prescriptions refilled at their pharmacy has proven to be very difficult. I was told my state aid had expired, it hadnt. Im still waiting on dr zachary to issue the refill to their pharmacy and its been almost a week with no word back. Ive got no choice though, i cant afford triumeq on my own. All Im at the mercy of this clinic.
The only thing people here care about is going to lunch. If you check in with reception make sure they let your physician know youre here, I waited 30 minutes before my physician called the front desk to see if I was here, multiple times. Im personally under the impression this establishment would rather you die so they dont have to care for you
This is a great place and a real god send. i mean the staff are really caring and they are there to help. its a medical clinic but so much more on a personal note. if u thinking of going to David Powell then no need to keep wondering just go and i promise u will enjoy ur experience
Essential Heros ahead! Just strange to see. Only the Looby area was open, everything else was dark, pharmacy was open, probably the lab too. Office area behind the glass enclosure was dark & empty with none of the usual smiling faces .
Dr. Brennan DiMarco is literally a life saver. He genuinely cares not only about the physical aspect of his patients health, but also their mental well being. He breaks down barriers for those with adherence problems, and is well versed in all the current now treatment options available. And thats the kind of thing that saves lives when your battling an evolving, shape-shifting, 12 headed monster like HIV. Ive been treated with nothing but respect by anyone on staff at DPC. I am grateful to have the clinic & doctor that I do.
Good doctors working in a shoddy, substandard environment. Two have left when the bureaucracy became unreasonable. These CommUnity Care clinics use the latest tests for all drugs and are working with the Trump administration.
They have repeatedly and literally saved my life, as I learn to manage my health the right way, compassionate and understanding staff and doctors who know everything there is to know about a young mans health in the 21st century
These people helped save my life and I will be forever grateful to them no matter where I am.
They have been inappropriate and rude a few times but normally you can get in and get out without a doctors appointment and they will check you out. I had a really nice experience last time I went
One of the best clinics for people with hiv/aids in Texas. Austin is lucky to have it. It is loaded with help, resources and support staff and its progressive and knowledgable paradigm is an asset to central Texas.
Dr de Marco is a great doctor.I hope to follow him wherever he goes.
Been going there for 16 years and have has the best experience, best doctors, and lab techs. I love my doctors office and woyld recommend this clinic to anyone living with HIV
Targeted care by knowledgable and caring folks. Have in house social workers and pharmacy.Actual ability to help folks seems to have decreased some since joining the Community Care red-tape requirements.
IVE BEEN A CLIENT THERE FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS I LOVE THE STAFF WHO ARE INTERESTED IN CARING FOR THEIR PATIENTS WITH TENDER LOVING CARE...I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING THE STAFF AND MY DR DE MARCO AT THE END OF THE MONTH...
They do good work for the community just keep in mind Healthcare in Texas is slightly behind civilization.
The only show in town on this level and they do a very good job of it and have for the last 30 years or so. Thanks!
A Community Care Medical Clinic. Some of the best healthcare Ive received anywhere. They, literally, saved me from dying in 2018. True story.
It appears that one Particular Doctor Zachary and his boss are doctors that Im sure are getting kickbacks from their drug reps as he is so quick to subscribe pills but will not give prescription for hot water therapy as Im on blood thinners and have very poor blood flow in which I feel hot water therapy would do wonders for my overall health however I was told by Dr Zachary that he didnt see a medical benefit from this. Come into the 21st Century and do your research
If you want the worst Care and to be disrespected then this is the place to be. Their lack of professionalism is unnerving and unstable. Wouldn’t recommend this office to my worst enemy.
The providers and staff here are truly dedicated and they genuinely care about their patient.
They are pretty incredible and on their game, just dont try to call an hour before they close... they just aint having it.
They do their John could use a little more time conscientiousness other than that its a decent place
Good clinic. Good people. Doctors, nurses, pharmacy staff, reception staff, eligibility and case management always on point.
Been a patient there for years. very caring, professionals. very good clinic
This place is the best best doctor office Ive ever been to . the are very professional kind and respectful.
Being a healthcare facility, they are very rigorous in their following of the guidelines for physical distancing and mask wearing.
Need to come up with a better system where patient arent waiting a long time to see the doctor.
If i could give this clinic no stars i wpuld denying my medication and then telling me to deal with it.
They have been helping me with everything there are very respectful
They always take very good care of my sweetie.
