I have been going to IRH for 11 years. They have helped me have two beautiful baby girls and another baby on the way. We are so thankful for everything they have done. We love all the staff but Dr Scheiber will always hold a special place in our hearts!
I was overall unimpressed with IRH. I was referred to them by my OB/GYN due to having multiple miscarriages. My phone call with Dr. King was the only positive experience in this whole process, she was kind and understanding. Though Dr. King did order blood work to be done but forgot to upload it for me to show the lab people. It is near impossible to talk to anyone at IRH so I had to leave a message and go to the lab another day to get the blood work done. My biggest complaint is that they ordered a test without getting the pre-approval needed from my insurance. They did contact my insurance and do the request, but it was not approved. Thus I am now having to pay over $600 for a test that I would have said no to if I had known it was not going to be covered. Would not recommend this place.
After a few years of trying to conceive, we tried the IUI route. We were successful the first try. Dr. Burwinkle was a great doctor. We now have a beautiful 15 month old girl ! I would recommend IRH over and over again.
All in all I was pleased with my experience. I was not planning anything, but unfortunately I had to get eggs/embryos frozen before unexpected chemo treatments that could affect my fertility. They were able to fit me in very quickly with a referral and even offered a discount due to my circumstances. Dr. Maria King was reassuring and very knowledgeable answering all my questions.I docked one star because getting ahold of them was an absolute NIGHTMARE and a simple question would turn into a huge headache! As many others have stated, there isn’t an option to speak with a live person directly when you call. You just have to leave a message and wait for them to call you back (and HOPE you don’t miss their call or else you end up playing phone tag). I can’t imagine they don’t have the funds to hire one or two people that can answer calls and give patients some answers and reassurance during an already stressful time.
Overall, I’ve had a very positive experience at IRH. The Rookwood office is a calming, welcoming space. The IVF nursing team is wonderful and all the nurses are knowledgeable and helpful. You get a much quicker response via the patient portal than by calling the nurse line. Dr. King was my primary provider, and she’s probably been the best, most caring doctor I’ve seen in my lifetime. I’m really glad IRH now has a few female MD’s in the practice, as this was one of my initial reservations.
We had our first IUI attempt and got pregnant and feel like the doctors all cared and at least read my chart before coming into the appointment (which most doctors I have don’t). Each visit I felt like was prompt and efficient but never felt rushed. The main reasons I’m docking one star is because it’s impossible to get someone on the phone. You have to leave a message and they will call back (sometimes with an unknown number which I never answered and played phone tag a lot), also I always had a different doctor every visit so I never felt connected to one, but I do think they all were happy and cared and it never felt like too big of an issue. I would definitely go here again and recommend to others. I drove 2-3 hours to get here each visit since there was nothing in my area and felt it was worth it.
Dr. Burwinkel and the staff at IRH are simply the best! I visited two other fertility specialists before finding IRH with no success. Dr. Burwinkel explains every option clearly and takes time to answer my questions. Thanks to IRH we have a healthy 5 year old and another on the way!
This place treats patients like dogs in a puppy mill. Not only did they grossly mishandle my emotions about losing a pregnancy at 6 weeks (because of reasons my new clinic already figured out - while this place told me “it happens”.) the doctors here (at least dr scheiber) prescribes the same medication and same protocol for every patient no matter your history. I know this because my nurse told me this when I started my second cycle. The only thing this place or their doctors cares about is money. Even when you choose a doctor he or she will not be there when you need them. Dr Scheiber was my doctor and he didn’t do either of my transfers because he was “out of town” both times. This place doesn’t even know my name. I’m married to a woman. They would CONSTANTLY call us by the wrong name. We don’t even look alike. I was a patient here for a year. They have had me come in for scheduled appointments only to tell me “oops we didn’t actually schedule that for today” and I’ve waited for over an hour on multiple occasions to be seen for a scheduled appointment. Also, I ran out of needles for my shots and it took over a month to get new ones because IRH doesn’t have any communication with you or within its walls. The only time someone will call you in a timely manner is to tell you you have a bill to pay- and those bills don’t stop coming even after you leave! Just do yourself a favor and pick another clinic. I could not be happier with my new doctor and PERSONAL plan for pregnancy.Oh also - I see clients as a hair stylist for a living - none of my guests who have used IRH (approximately 8 people) have anything positive to say unless they used their facility 10+ years ago. We all just cry and complain tog each other when I see them. Don’t fall for old reviews - this clinic will fail you.
I will preface this by saying I did not graduate from IRH. I completed 4 IUI and 1 IVF Fresh transfer. Over the course of 8 months, I did not see the same doctor twice. The doctor that called me to communicate my failed IVF outcome, Id never spoken to before. When I asked questions, they were often dismissed or I was provided a generic answer that the first google result could give me. I was able to find additional information on my own that lead to a significant diagnosis that has had a tremendous impact on my fertility. If youre feeling this way with these doctors, youre not alone.
My daughter and her wife attempted to use this clinic to get pregnant. After 2 failed IVF attempts and being treated so poorly by the staff they have had no choice then to go to a new and better clinic on the other side of town. As a prior Medical Assistant with an OB/GYN Infertility Dr I was appalled by the lack of compassion and proper communication by all of the staff. Most people using these services are needing the staff to be helpful, compassionate and competent, which is not this facilities highest priority. If you are needing these services and want those qualities run from this place as fast as you can.
The doctor had me do all the talking about my tests results. She said very few words. On top of that, our appointment was an hour later than our scheduled time. I know things come up, but we were not even given an apology for waiting so long.
We just graduated from IRH and can only say good things about them. Everyone we came in contact with seemed to only have our best interest at heart and you could see the actual excitement on their faces when we left the clinic today 10 weeks pregnant. We drove almost 3 hours, passing up plenty of other clinics to use IRH and if I had it to do again, I wouldn’t change a thing.
They lie more than once & they are rude and disrespectful to their staff! I’ll never complain about anything, but this is unacceptable behavior for a company! Could do way better… I recommend DONT COME HERE!
My husband and I found IRH through some friends who have also been here. Dr. Scheiber has been with us every step of the way. It has taken us a lot to get where we are now but we are finally pregnant and doing really well! We had luck with our second IVF frozen transfer and there are not enough words to describe the joy we feel now. Not only are the doctors amazing at IRH but the nurses are so helpful and caring along the way. I highly recommend IRH and Dr. Scheiber. Without this clinic and his expertise, we would not be where we are now. ❤️
IRH is truly the best fertility clinic in Cincinnati. All of the doctors and staff are kind and understanding and they all truly care. Although our primary doctor was Doctor Awadalla, we had appointments with Dr. Scheiber as well. Both doctors truly care for their patients and families. They always made sure to sit down and discuss our fertility plan and next steps. I couldn’t recommend IRH enough to anyone trying to become pregnant. Miracles really do happen.
Absolutely love the staff and the new nurse Sarah. The staff is super responsive to portal messages as well as returning calls from the nurse line. They return calls and messages for me without fail. The staff is also incredibly compassionate and understanding of the stress we go through as patients. So glad I switched from Bethesda to IRH
I was so anxious about having to start with a new specialist for our second preganancy after a loss and loving our previous specialist. We needed to change due to insurance. IRH was so amazing! They were supportive of all decisions we made for fertility treatments. They were also so supportive in our PAL journey and monitored us closely until we transitioned to our OB. Highly recommend them!
I was a patient at the Institute for Reproductive Health around 10 years ago. While the rest of the staff were friendly and professional, I had a negative experience with Dr. Sherif Awadalla that will stick with me forever.I told him that the fertility medications were affecting my sex drive and that it hadnt returned to normal for months after stopping them. His response was, Thats okay, women dont have sex drives anyway.Ive never felt so dismissed by a medical provider, especially one so woefully misinformed about the exact demographic hes supposed to specialize in. This has stuck with me over the past decade, and I thought Id share my experience so that other women are better able to stand up for themselves and their medical needs when speaking with Dr. Awadalla. And to Dr. Awadalla, I hope that youve updated your medical knowledge about female sexuality and will make more of an effort to actually listen to women and consider them a source of truth about their own bodies. Now, as I begin my fertility journey again, I will go elsewhere for treatment, in the hopes that my next provider will be more educated and empathetic.
I had a great experience at IRH; all the doctors, nurses, and staff were super nice and extremely helpful. At my actual appointments, I never had to wait more than a few minutes before being called back. I went through 3 IUIs, 1 round of IVF, had 1 (thankfully) successful frozen transfer, and am currently holding my week old baby boy.Couple things I learned during my experience (specific to IRH):1. Based off other reviews, I waited until I could get an appointment with a specific doctor. However at the end of the day, I think I saw every doctor at one point or another. I thought all were great! So when I look back, I wish I wouldn’t have waited for a specific doctor.2. Typically no one answers when you call. You just have to leave a message, and they will ALWAYS call you back. I know a lot of people complain about that, but as long as you are aware going in, I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. They also have a portal that can be used to directly communicate with nurses.3. Thoroughly read through the contracts and all other documentation provided and reference during every step in the process. I had a couple surprises along the way that wouldn’t have been if I would have referenced the documents more throughly.Good luck to anyone starting an infertility journey! I believe IRH is a great place to trust to help you along the way!
I have not one time in 2 years have I been able to call and get someone on the phone. They have 2 phones only. It’s beyond frustrating how communication isn’t open and you have to wait 4 hours to get a message back on the portal. Feels like a problem that could benefit so many patients spending 50k to become pregnant.
I have been a patient at IRH for 3.5 years and have had nothing but a great experience at every visit. From the front desk, to the nurses to the fabulous physicians. Dr Scheiber has been my primary MD, his great bedside manner and his sincere and passionate care for me was something I never expected but am so grateful for. We are blessed that his expertise allowed us to extend our family…we are forever grateful!!
Dr. Scheiber and the entire staff at IRH were wonderful. My husband and I struggled for two years with infertility and after IVF treatments at IRH we are expecting our first baby in August. Throughout the entire process the staff were kind, patient, and extremely thorough. The made a stressful and confusing process run smoothly and I am so grateful for their support and expertise!
My husband and I will always be grateful to IRH. Dr. Scheiber and rest of the doctors, and staff are all amazing. When we first started Dr. Scheiber gave us a rundown of the process, and our options especially with me being over 35. There were always open lines of communication, and the end result with twins that are arriving April 2023. Thank you IRH from the bottom of my heart; we couldn’t have done this without you.
I would give IRH a million stars if I could! They helped give us our sweet baby girl Hazel who arrived in June 2022! Everyone was great from billing, scheduling, nurses, docs and embryologist. Dr. Burwinkle was our main doctor. He helped us through our consults, IUIs and IVF! DR. B Did our frozen embryo transfer that gave us our Hazel and I will forever be grateful. Thank you!
My husband and I have been going to IRH for about a year and although the reason (infertility) is not good, we genuinely love all of the doctors, nurses and all staff we have encountered in general. Finance dept. Is super helpful and patient will all questions. The IVF nurses are absolutely the best(especially Erica in west Chester 😃) they are so kind, patient, helpful and understanding. I hate dealing with infertility but love the people on this journey with us. You are ALL so appreciated!
What can I say? We have two beautiful sons thanks to the wonderful doctors and staff at IRH. Throughout the process, they were warm, inventive, creative, caring, empathetic and gave us phenomenal advice to help us welcome children into our family. While it wasnt always easy, they treated us so wonderfully until we were able to bring our twin sons into the world. I will be forever grateful and cannot recommend them enough.
Current patient of IRH here and have been since 2017. I always feel comfortable at my appointments with whichever doctor or staff member I’m working with that day. Although our first round of IVF was unsuccessful, we have hope for our second round and know that we can trust Dr. Burwinkle to give us his best advice and care!
IRH is absolutely amazing! We went into the clinic knowing about our infertility diagnosis. They took everything seriously and created a plan for us quickly. We were fortunate enough to be able to do IVF, but unfortunately our fresh transfer was unsuccessful. The day we found out it didn’t work, was the day they already had a plan set in place for us. I always felt important. We had a successful frozen transfer immediately after the failed transfer and they were just as caring with pregnant me as the were with struggling me! I had a lot of scary bleeding from the start and Dr. O’Leary made time to see me weekly from 5.5 weeks to 8.5 weeks for an ultrasound. This was simply for a peace of mind and after infertility, that’s exactly what I needed. Today we graduated from IRH and they pretty much had to force me out. The staff is nothing short of amazing. Their IVF nurses always answered my messages within an hour and called to check up on me. Infertility sucks, but I promise IRH makes a it suck a little less!
My husband and I have been with IRH since we started on our journey to expand our family. Dr Burwinkel and the entire staff were very informative and helpful during the process and I never felt like I was without support the whole time. We conceived both of our miracles via IVF. The first one was from a fresh cycle and the second was from a frozen transfer. Both times I always felt like I knew what was going on and what the expectations were. I can’t say enough good things about the practice!
I could not speak more highly of Dr. Scheiber and the Institute of Reproductive Health. They are professional yet compassionate, extremely thorough with medical advice and medication instructions, always willing to answer my detailed questions and calm my nerves, and most importantly are so passionate about their purpose - to help build families and dreams for people like me. I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking infertility support (and have to several friends!). I feel so blessed to have found them!
I highly recommend the Institute of Reproductive Health for any couples facing infertility. These doctors and their staff are amazing! They are highly professional, experts in their field and they truly care about you and your situation. I saw both Dr. Awadala and Dr. Burwinkel during our time with IRH (over a span of 2 years) and feel both of these doctors are so knowledgeable and offered several options for me and my husband. Their nurses were my support team throughout our infertility journey and were always so helpful when I had questions or needed someone to wipe my tears after my appointments. The staff were so patient with us and after 4 IUIs, 2 IVFs, and 2 frozen embryo transfers, I finally got pregnant with my very last embryo thanks to IRH! Infertility is a long, expensive, painful and emotional journey and we wouldnt be where we are today without this wonderful team. My husband and I are forever grateful to IRH and would highly recommend them to anyone.
After nearly 2 year of trying to get pregnant with my wife, we were recommended to IRH and were given Dr. Schreiber as our doctor. He is a great doctor and cares greatly about his patients. Around 6 months with IRH we are pregnant with our first child. I would highly recommend IRH to anyone having trouble conceiving. The only issues we had were when trying to get ahold of someone about questions at IRH, you always had to leave a VM, no one answers the phones directly. They will promptly call you back same day, though
Staffing is rude and don’t care to talk behind your back - they even talk about Pt and they don’t care about you or your family I do not recommend this at all
Ive been a patient of IRH for around 5 years. Working with the Doctors and staff was always a positive experience. IVF, and really any type of infertility journey, is hard. The expertise, and genuine care and compassion is second to none. They understand that the battle with infertility is unique for everyone, and they are able to respect that and customize their care and treatment in a way that fits you emotionally, as well as helping to find a financial path that you can handle. This isnt a cheap journey, but the payoff is completely priceless and the whole team at IRH genuinely is on your team from the first appointment.
My husband and I can’t express our gratitude enough to Dr. Scheiber and IRH for the blessing of our son. From our first meeting until we were released to our local OB/GYN (10 weeks pregnant) everyone at IRH was professional, compassionate and committed to helping us achieve our goal of conceiving. Looking forward to trying for our second soon and so excited that a Louisville office has just opened. Thank you IRH!
I have used the Institute for Reproductive Health 3 times as a donor, and have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Every time I visited the office, I felt like I belonged there! All the staff are incredible, so polite and highly professional. Each visit was thoroughly explained and I knew what to expect, every step of the way. I highly recommend the IRH, they do great work here!
I couldnt say enough positive things about Dr. Scheiber and the staff at IRH. We started our journey back in 2004 and were fortunate that the first round of IVF was successful. We had two beautiful babies but what I remember most though is how skilled and compassionate everyone was with me and my husband when I experienced a known complication called ovarian hyperstimulation. They saw me in the hospital, over weekends, and consulted with other specialists to get me back on track and feeling better. I never felt alone. We then completed our journey with the last frozen embryo in 2007 and we had our third miracle. They are all a joy and I thank God everyday for IRH.
I just want to give a HUGE thank you to the institute of reproductive health, for giving my partner and I, the opportunity to become parents! Because of Michael Awadalla, we are expecting our baby girl July, 16, 2023. He is a wonderful doctor, and we appreciate all that he’s done for us:)We recommend IRH 100% to anyone.Thank you again.
My husband and I have been clients with IRH for just under two years. It was a long and emotional process as we sought fertility treatments. Dr. Awadalla and the other medical staff were amazing. We were well informed every step of the way and always felt like we were heard when we expressed our desires or concerns. I would highly recommend IRH to anyone who is in need of fertility treatments.
We could not have been more pleased with Dr. Scheiber and the entire staff here. Such an emotional journey and they made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Me and my husband had difficulty conceiving but the staff never gave up on us instead they supported us and did everything they could to make our dream happen. Now we are enjoying our bundle of joy all because they truly care for their work and their patients. This is an amazing practice that we will highly recommend to anyone that will listen!
I am so happy with the quality of patient care at IRH. From the beginning of this journey they have made me feel heard. The billing office was very helpful with all of my insurance questions and guiding me through the process. This is a stressful journey and its great to know they try to limit that stress as much as possible.
As I write this, I am 17 weeks pregnant thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at IRH. While this path isnt easy, my husband and I were always met with the most caring and patient staff. If I cried, the nurses cried. When we smiled, they smiled with us. I truly cannot recommend IRH enough. Clean offices, professional and so caring. Thank you for our baby girl, IRH!
My experience at this facility was not positive. From incorrectly scheduled appointments, the appointments having to be moved or changed, the inability to reach a nurse without leaving a voicemail and playing phone tag all day, and the lack of communication of my case was very stressful. I did not end up getting pregnant. The blood draws for pregnancy tests were too close together for the half life of the hormone, thus resulting in more sticks than necessary. During the process of a chemical pregnancy, a nurse came to draw my blood and without reading my chart said what an exciting day it was for me...since my first test was positive. As a follow-up, went back to do another consult and discuss next steps. Also decided to consult with two other out of state facilities. The other two doctors agree that my protocol was incorrect for my case and despite no outcome IRH did not want to change my protocol. The billing department was very nice, although still waiting on my final bill. It has been 3 months since my failed IVF cycle.Overall, the doctor was nice, his direct nurse was nice. That is the only thing I can say.
IRH is nothing short of fantastic. The compassion and understanding they showed during some of the most difficult times in our lives, did not go unnoticed. The staff goes above and beyond to help as needed. Appointments were always on schedule, but you never felt rushed. We would not have our 4 year old or 3 month old twins if it weren’t for Dr. Schreiber and all of the wonderful doctors and staff at IRH.
IRH helped us have our 2 girls after years of unsuccessful infertility treatments elsewhere. They are extremely knowledgeable, have high success rates, and are of the utmost professionals. They pair all of that with a deep caring for their patients and an efficiency that is unparalleled. We have recommended MANY friends there with the same results. We are so thankful for everyone from the front desk to Dr. Awadalla for the care and time in allowing us to have the family we always wanted. Thank you IRH!!!
Dr Scheiber and the nursing staff have been absolutely amazing while undergoing IVF. They are very efficient at communicating with me with any questions I have. Never had to wait for appointments, always in and out quickly. 10/10 recommend.
We had been trying for 4 years. IRH brought us our lil miracle baby a year and a half ago through IUI. The staff and doctors are fantastic. They make it so comfortable. clean facilities and very flexible with scheduling. This is a great place to go to for your infertility struggle.
We absolutely love IRH! We have been working with the team for 3+ years. The office is appealing & inviting and the staff are all very friendly & supportive.
I have gone to IRH since 2013. After a failed IVF at another clinic, I wanted to come to the best. I saw Dr. Burwinkle and he never gave up on me. My next IVF worked. Him and his staff (other drs as well) were always extremely kind. If it wasnt for IRH I wouldnt be a mom. Thank you all!
After 2.5 long, expensive years of fertility treatments with another doctor who believed there was no such thing as PCOS, Dr. B, diagnosed and treated my PCOS and helped us get pregnant in a less than a year. We loved IRH’s team approach because someone was available to quickly answer questions and reassure us during all the insecure times of infertility. Thank you IRH for helping us make a beautiful baby boy!
We went to IRH after not conceiving after one IUI procedure. Due to my age at the time, 38, the doctor we worked with recommended doing two implants with IVF. After one cycle of IVF, I conceived two baby girls and delivered them at 37 weeks. Other than the conception, the pregnancy went smoothly.I have always wondered if doing two implants was necessary with me just because of my age. I didnt have any health issues (fertility or non-fertility related), 16 of the 20 eggs retrieved fertilized, and I easily conceived my son three years prior. As much as I love my daughters, having two babies at once and one who was extremely fussy due to gastrointestinal issues was difficult. One of my two daughters has had several developmental issues. I am sure her low birth weight contributed to her health issues. I carried my son to 41 weeks and I am sure my daughters would have been full term if they had been singletons versus twins. As obvious as it seems to ask the doctor about the number of implants, I just went with their advice based upon their published statistics.I am writing this in hopes that future patients considering IVF have this discussion about the number of implants with the IRH doctors. Although having two babies is a blessing, it made the first two years of our daughters lives very stressful for us. Imagine how tired you have felt or will feel with one baby and multiply that by two. Based on my experience, it is easier for the child to welcome one baby at a time.
I cant say enough good things about IRH!! Dr. Burwinkel and Dr. Schieber were amazing, everyone I spoke to was so nice, understanding, and patient. You do almost always have to leave a voicemail and wait for a call back, but this wasnt an issue for me as they always left detailed messages. We were fortunate enough to get pregnant on our first IVF cycle with icsi and are now expecting twins in April 2017 :-) Many thanks to the amazing staff and doctors, we are eternally grateful!
We refer to Dr. Scheiber as our hero and miracle worker. Without the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at IRH, we wouldnt have been blessed with our miracle twins. To everyone at IRH, words cannot express our gratitude. We recommend IRH every chance we get to anyone dealing with infertility.
IRH was referred to us by close friends who were very happy with the doctors and staff. Through IRH they were able to have children of their own. I researched online statistics and etc before making an appointment. We had our testing done at another clinic locally but chose to drive to Cincinnati from Dayton to continue our infertility journey. When I first met Dr. Scheiber he had not only the expertise but a wonderful bedside manner as well. Though IRH we have conceived our 3 boys through IVF. I cannot say enough kind things about all of the doctors and staff at IRH.
This process was one the best experiences one could ask for! From beginning to end the staff was nothing short of amazing. Extremely helpful and kind. Dr. Scheiber was an AMAZING doctor and I’m so happy to have chosen him and IRH.
I had to switch providers in the middle of a cycle due to issues with a provider. The Institute for Reproductive Health was able to squeeze me in so I did not miss my cycle. Dr. Burwinkle was amazing and very thorough. The office and nursing staff were all also amazing. I would not have my son if it wasn’t for them!
We went through IRH as a last ditch effort to make our dreams come true at conceiving children. We went to multiple fertility doctors and was unsuccessful until coming to IRH. There approaches and expertise are top notch. We did our IVF procedure with them and now have two miracle babies. We will forever be grateful for IRH.
We had such a wonderful experience with entire staff@IRH but worked mainly with Dr. Burwinkle in the rookwood office. The west Chester office was extremely convenient for frequent visits as well..Its such a hard process both emotionally and financially however Burwinkle and his stafff were so gentle, understanding and sympathetic with entire process. I felt like they took a lot of time to determine solutions through the process specific to my issues. Though it wasnt easy with either pregnancy we had a successful singleton pregnancy and then I went back when we were ready again and had triplets! I now have 4 heathy boys! I cant thank Burwinkle and his staff enough for the blessing they helped us with ❤️
Dr. Scheiber and the entire IRH family provided outstanding care for me during the last 1.5 year of this emotional time in our lives. I could not be more appreciate to the time and the care that IRH took to respond to messages and phone calls to put my mind at ease. I cant say enough about IRH they are absolutely an amazing caring group.
Without IRH, we wouldnt have our baby girl. Dr. Scheiber performed my tubal reversal and 3 months later i was pregnant! I highly reccomend this office. You will get all the love, care and support you need!
Please don’t waste your money going to IRH. We had 4 IUI cycles with them and without any positive result. They just don’t care about your emotions, money and time. They follow the same procedure for all the cycles without adjusting their process. Without considering the size of the follicle they ask you to take ovidrel and this is something we expect from doctors but looks like they just follow the process and leave it to your luck rather than doing ultrasound to ensure follicle size is optimal. You cannot call doctor directly and then you get call from Nurse who talks to Doctor. They don’t provide any justification for failures and neither they seems to be answerable. Be aware guys and save your money. There is no option for zero stars otherwise I could have rated that way.
I am a resident of Central Kentucky and had previously attempted care with Bluegrass Fertility in Lexington. After an unfortunately frustrating and unsuccessful experience with Dr. Akin and his staff, along with the recommendation of several friends, my husband and I decided to see Dr. Awadallah at IRH. The experience we had with IRH was immensely different; the staff genuinely listened to my concerns, Dr. Awadallah remembered the details of my care outside of what was read on a chart and I felt as though I had a voice with my care options. I am now pregnant, thanks to the advanced technology and pragmatic approach to my care. The occasional commute to NKY/Cincinnati is well worth the outcome.
After trying on our own for five years, my husband and I were unsuccessful in getting pregnant. However, we found hope in IRH. After six rounds of IUIs, we found ourselves pregnant with twins! We have our one month boy and girl thanks to the expertise of the IRH staff. Id highly recommend them. The only downside is calling the office. You always have to leave a message and cannot get through to a live person. Frustrating, but not that big of a deal.
Thanks to Dr. A we have our two beautiful children. The staff at IRH is the best of the best from the front desk all the way to the top. I felt like they were family helping you through every step, question and uncertainty. I recommend them to everyone!!
I received care from Dr. Scheiber after many issues I had trying to conceive a child along with some medical issues I was facing. The entire staff was knowledgeable, caring and did everything they could for me and then my miracle was born in June 2008. I highly recommend IRH. You will not be disappointed.
Our very first consultation with Dr. O’Leary was November 21, 2018. Less than a year later, we had our beautiful daughter. I am so impressed with how quickly she took care of us. She ran tests, diagnosed, provided options, performed surgery, and followed through with our plan without any delay. We traveled 4 hours round trip for all of our appointments. All our trips to Cincinnati, the countless blood draws, the surgery, all 279 injections, it was all worth it. We have the most precious 8 week old little girl now.I previously lost 3 babies to miscarriages and my local doctor wasn’t willing to look for possible causes which is why we made an appointment at IRH. They diagnosed me with Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome & PCOS. Dr. O’Leary performed a hysteroscopy on me and we did one of the least invasive options (timed intercourse with an ovulation trigger shot). It worked on our first try and since we knew my diagnosis I was able to start daily Lovenox injections as soon as we tested positive. We had waited so long to add a baby to our family, but after we found Dr. O’Leary we didn’t have to wait much longer at all. I highly recommend the Institute for Reproductive Health to anyone!
We just delivered our 5th child all with assistance from IRH. We have recommended them to so many people! We tried a few rounds of IUI without success. Our first round of IVF got to two days before retrieval and the eggs had stopped growing. We were devastated. Dr. A tweaked one med and we ended up with 5 embryos that made it to day 5. Those are our 5 children. The last 2 were even frozen, thawed, frozen, and thawed again and made it to the end. Theu even had us come in on labor day for one appointment because the timing would be most successful that way (even though the office was closed). The only frustrating thing is during treatment times you are not able to ever talk to someone, you have to leave a message and they call back, which can be challenging.
My wife and I would recommend IRH to anyone who might need assistance in growing their family. We now are experiencing our 5th pregnancy through IRH, and my wife was also a gestational carrier for a couple with the help of IRH. The amazing gift of these specialists’ talents is so amazing, and they do it all with professionalism and compassion!
Going this clinic was the worst decision we ever did unprofessionaluncaring, and money hungry I had excessive bleeding with egg collection and I mention to the nurse on teaching day that I had bleeding with egg collection before so they can know ahead of time, but I guess they just ignore that whole sentence and blame me, and my husband for not telling them about my bleeding problem when I had bleeding that day . and, again my first ultrasound we were told baby doesnt have heartbeat, and to come back after 2 weeks for another ultrasound, but they didnt ask me to get my HCG levels check to see if its going dawn, or up I have to call back next day to request that my self. after crazy 2 weeks of waiting we went back for ultrasound, and was told I am having missed miscarriage Dr A was my doctor that I remember his unkind words telling me not be sad because I have one more frozen embryo.overall I am saying please and please stay away form this place
The new patient office is great. Once you become a patient and need to work with the medical staff, they are the most difficult to contact. They never answer the phones, so you are required to leave a message and hope you can catch them when they call you back. If youre going for IUI, the entire process is time-sensitive, and they really have no concern of the timelines. Trying to work with them causes more stress than necessary.**Edit** It has been a week since my IVF education meeting, and the Finance department still hasnt called me. I was told they would call me the same day as my meeting, but, as per usual, they dont call back. My husband went to the office today to get his part of the IVF started so we could be ready when day 1 starts. He talked to several employees before he was finally at the Finance dept. They told us we owed $10k last week! No one wants to call or communicate in any way, and then they act like we should have been aware of everything the entire time. Now they want the money to be paid or financed by tonight, or we have to wait another month.Best part? The owner seems to leave messages on our Google reviews but there is no way to respond or try to resolve any of our problems. I would give this place 0 stars if I could.
The doctors make the patient seem like they are wasting their time. If you do have the chance to ask questions (with medical care patients often do have questions) the doctors make you seem like you’re an idiot.Dr. Awadalla looked at my chart and labs and basically made me feel like an inadequate human being, but don’t worry they make sure to keep taking your money even when they can’t say if they can help you….There is zero communication at the practice - one little thing takes 14 phone calls to take care of. Btw if you want to speak to staff - you can’t until you leave a message - if you have too many patients that your staff can’t handle that stop taking more patients, just to drain them of any money
Well worth the two hour travel time from southern Indiana. We used another clinic locally and there is no comparisons. IRH is very caring and professional. We have two beautiful boys thanks to Dr Scheiber and staff.
As soon as we met Dr Awadalla we knew we were in good hands. Throughout our many rounds of IUI and assorted tests, and finally through IVF he was always optimistic and cheerful but still genuine. Though our journey wasnt a quick one, we were confident the whole time that we were doing everything we could -- including going to the best doctors. There were many times when I wanted to give up hope but Dr. Awadalla and the other IRH doctors encouraged me to keep going.
I am in my 8th month of pregnancy! My husband and I have had a journey in trying to get this far. After many attempts with Clomiphene, IUI’s, etc., we decided to try invitro fertilization at IRH in Cincinnati, Ohio. The first time we did the procedure with fresh eggs, my body couldn’t carry it past 6 weeks. The second attempt, we told them to put in two eggs, but neither of them took. The third attempt, Dr. Sheiber and team put me on Progresterone shots. Third time’s the charm for this 39 year old! My baby’s ultrasounds always show that she is growing healthy. I’m due next month! I’m so happy with the professionalism and empathy IRH bestowed on my husband and me.
We could not have asked for a better experience. Everyone at IRH is amazing and very sensitive to what is a difficult situation for most. They took our negative situation and turned it into a positive experience very easily. They took the time to explain and answer all our questions, even when you could tell they had a lot going on. I never felt as if our questions were an inconvenience. We wouldnt have our miracle without them!
We are so thankful for the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at IRH. Our journey with infertility had its ups and downs, but Dr. Awadalla was there to support and guide us through each decision. We now have two beautiful children and we couldnt be happier. Thanks, IRH!
IRH made it possible for us to have our first daughter after having 2 miscarries and having trouble getting pregnant. That is the hardest struggle my husband and I have experienced in our marriage. We knew God had placed the desire to have kids in our hearts for a reason. We also knew that God put doctors here on earth for a reason, to help us during medical issues. We are so thankful to the staff and doctors at IRH who were so encouraging and patient as we were able to get pregnant on our 5th IUI. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us with the making of our sweet Abbianna Elizabeth, she and her sister are the highlights of our days.
So I just had the rudest conversation with thebilling department lady, I am a veteran with VAreferrals for paid three cycles. She was the rudestwoman I have ever talked to in the medical field.Take yourselves out of network if all you want tosee is cash money patients and to lazy to filepaperwork. She was screaming aint got coverageand the VA lady had already been talking to Lindsayat your facility. The billing lady said the doctorswere in network but not the ovation side of it, andthats not true, the VA checked both sides of thefacility mpi numbers and both are in network. Youknow I already paid out of pocket once, and now Iget insurance to pay for it your billing is to danglazy to help me. Your business is CLEARLY not in itto help people, its just a money grab and CLEARLYnot in it to help a veteran. Should be disgusted withhow I have been treated…unbelievable
Dr. Burwinkel was wonderful! After one round of IUI, a baby boy has joined our family. Prices were very affordable for the services provided and everyone in the office was always very friendly!
Thank you IRH and Dr. Burwinkel for the most perfect baby girl! The process wasnt always easy but appreciate all the effort and we couldnt be happier with our end result. Entire staff was great and we appreciated the more individualized approach.
Went there for only two months before conceiving! Thank the Lord. The phycians are very good and work quickly. You are in and out. The staff or management, needs work. First, you cannot talk to anyone ever. You must leave a message for every little thing, even scheduling an appointment. Then you play phone tag all day because if you work like I do you cant just drop what youre doing and answer the phone. Takes 24 hours sometimes to complete one little task due to having to leave a message. Secondly, they didnt bill my insurance like they were advised after I conceived, they billed me as a cash patient. Now, I am waiting on a refund. Third, I was released back to my OB/GYN for care and was told for two weeks that my records would be at my OB. As of today, they are not and I was told I will have to reschedule my appointment if they arent received. They need to work on communication. One person you dont want to have upset with you is an extra hormonal woman.
Dr. Awadalla was an absolute pleasure to work with, we have gone through multiple IUI’s, three rounds of IVF and over 6 FET’s and all along the way he made us feel like we were not only supported in the process but listened to our concerns, guided us through the process. Both him and the staff were unbelievably understanding and positive throughout what was a very long journey to conceive. Ultimately resulting in a healthy baby girl and another baby on the way.
I went in for a consult. About well.. reproductive help. How the office works, how they would help developed a plan. I left in tears, all I heard were dollar signs. Thought we would discuss the least invasive options but it escalated quickly into very invasive options. I didn’t feel eased I felt like this is just as bad a money grab as your corner clinics for addictions! I can see vulnerability being their means of profit. I have never in my life gone to a medical professional for a consultation and received a bill for over 300 dollars!!! For NO service rendered. Less than 30 min of speaking to a MD. I have dealt with billing before, as a nurse. 30 min with no service is NOT 3-400 dollars. No vitals... no scripts.. is it for the tissues I used to wipe my eyes because I felt overwhelmed in the appointment? Give me a break...
Absolutely love the staff! My doctor was doctor scheiber, I did two rounds of ivf with him! Our first miracle is almost two and we are currently pregnant with our second miracle! Also seen the other two doctors because of how my schedule fell and they were great as well!
After years of trying to conceive at Chicago fertility clinics, IRH blessed us with twin girls on our first attempt!!! They are miracle workers! Great staff and doctors! Would not go anywhere else! :)
Im Happy so far so good.Im having surgery 04-18-23To remove fibroid from uterus cavityTubes are perfectIm ovulating normallyOvaries goodIm 41 praying for twins
I would strongly recommend you find someone else to help with you with reproductive needs. These people are just going to take your money and leave you wishing you would have gone to consult with doctors who are just all around better. Its incredibly frustrating that you cannot speak to a person on the phone. Every time you call, you have to leave a message, and theyll call you back when they get around to it. Miss their return call? Leave another message and wait. So. Frustrating.I wish we wouldnt have wasted our time and a lot of our money here.I really have nothing nice to say about IRH. Nothing.
Dr. Scheiber provided the utmost care for me during such an emotional and hypersensitive time in our lives. I could not be more appreciate to the time that IRH took to respond to messages and phone calls to put my mind at ease and make this experience as exciting and enjoyable as possible.
You can’t ever talk to a live person when you call in. I did IUI and ended up having an ectopic pregnancy. At first they discredited my pain, then just told me to go get a chemotherapy medicine that would destroy the pregnancy. They were not supportive through this process and ended up getting emergency surgery since the medication did not work.
Ive been here on and off for years. My most recent visits feel like its all about money. It makes patients just feel hopeless in an already stressful period. I would have recommended this office after my last 2 unsuccessful tries, but not this time. I frequently am in tears after trying to just schedule an appointment.
We have been through 2 IVF treatments, both successful on the 1st attempt. We love Dr. Awadalla and the staff. We drive from Louisville for all the appointments as it is well worth it.Thank you to everyone at the facility!
I’m starting to get really frustrated with them. You cannot speak to a person on the phone. It’s machine only. For the 2nd cycle now they won’t return my calls for days. This last time they finally returned it after 3 days and only to get my credit card for dues that I hadn’t gotten a bill yet for. They still didn’t set up my appointment or answer my questions. They just took my money. I feel so devalued. It’s a shame because I do like all of the doctors. This is a tough process already for women. The last thing we need is to be ignored and to lose precious cycles over it.
It is completely unacceptable that 100% of the phone options go to voicemail. There is absolutely no way to get someone on the phone without leaving a voicemail and then hope that you are available when they return your call randomly. A lot of the calls you will make to this place have very sensitive timing (fertility cycles) and billing impacts, but you will only communicate with them via playing phone tag. Why is this ok when many people are spending 20k plus out of pocket?
We are so grateful for Dr. Awadalla and Dr. Scheiber! They were with us through many disappointments and some very real losses, but in the end I was able to carry a baby! We have been blessed with a son and daughter through both adoption and IVF. For those struggling on this journey, let me tell you the truth; I love my son and daughter equally, there is no difference at all!
The staff and Drs at IRH are so kind and understanding! I had success with Dr. Awadala when trying to conceive my third child! I highly recommended their practice!
What an amazing groups of doctors and nurses! After going to place after place and being told no, we finally heard a yes this can work. Nine months later we had our son. These miracle workers are a family not just an office of doctors. We can’t wait to go see them again this summer!!!
IRH is the best!! The doctors, nurses and staff are so supportive and are there through every step!! They become of a part of your family through your journey!!
After being told several times i would never have children, i was referred to Institute for Reproductive Health. The moment i walked in i was told they would do whatever they could to help me. Dr. Scheiber and his staff are amazing. I could not thank them enough. I highly recommend them to everyone ❤
Highly recommend. Dr. OLeary and the nursing staff are amazing. Were so blessed to have a baby girl thanks to IRH.
Never a wait, super helpful and knowledgeable staff right from the beginning all the way to the end! Making people’s dreams of a family come true! I hope you all have the pleasure to work with Trish! She’s such a special nurse ❤️
More than impressed with Dr OLeary. I felt like I was her only patient. She sat down and gave me her undivided attention and actually listened to my concerns and questions. Would highly recommend her and her staff.
All of the doctors are fantastic. Dr. Schieber was my primary and I would recommend him to anybody. Very clean office and quick.
I am unsure if this is correlated with the lab but I just honestly had the rudest encounter with the front desk there and left in tears. I work in healthcare and to be talked so condescendingly and rude to someone that is just starting to navigate the waters of infertility was absolutely terrible.
IRH is an exceptional practice. Wonderful staff, pleasant waiting areas, and highly knowledgeable/experienced doctors and specialists.
We are happy and delighted to announce that we are successful parents of a beautiful baby in our first attempt.. All thanks to Dr Sheiber and his team.. Thanks for making our dream come true 🙏
IRH wasted no time working towards getting us pregnant, I am so thankful for persistent Drs that encouraged us to keep working towards our goal of parenthood.
They are excellent! Would recommend to anyone. Dr. Scheiber is so kind, knowledgeable, and positive. My family is so thankful for their practice!
The docters, nurses and staff are excellent, very friendly and caring. Would recommend for anyone that is going through infertility.
The doctors were phenomenal & really know what they are doing. We were blessed to become pregnant & now have a beautiful baby boy!
I absolutely love this place! Dr. Scheiber is AMAZING! We went through treatment, and now our daughter is 20 months! He was very informative during the entire process, and the staff is extremely friendly! I give this place 10 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Scheiber and staff are truly outstanding and remarkable! They were all instrumental in making my dream come true.
This process is hard but going to the Institute of Reproductive Health made it easier. The nurses and doctors are wonderful and professional!
They never answer the phone ever.
Dr. Scheiber and the team were wonderful!! My husband and I couldn’t be happier with the level of service provided.
Can not say enough positive things about this practice! I have them to thank for my 3 perfect daughters.
Very professional and courteous staff. We enjoyed our experience and would recommend this place to anyone trying to conceive.
