I actually love the doctors and nurses. However the front desk staff or who ever is answering the phones is so rude and impatient. Called in to be seen the women on the phone didnt ask me my name, DOB, anything. Just said there were no appointments and said I could leave a message and ask for a prescription. A prescription!? Why am I asking for a prescription for something I dont know I have! So distasteful and rude. Ive been going to this practice for over 10 years. I am disappointed and disgusted that she wouldnt try to find me the next available appointment instead of rushing me off the phone. Makes me so mad. People are calling in with real time problems. Id hate to be on the other side of a phone call with her. This was a call made today 11:20 am. You work in customer service your job is to provide quality service not rush patience off the phone.

Good doctor, but a pretty incompetent establishment. Be sure to schedule any and ALL appointments while in the office; otherwise, it’s never happening. The one time you finally get someone to answer the phone, they have to transfer you over to someone else, Rhonda? (as of now), to schedule an appointment — and good luck getting her to call you back. Two voicemails were left and still nothing, one month later. & considering the fact, there are also no options to request an appointment online … wouldn’t say it’s worth the stress to come here. & also, do yourself a favor and look through the review replies from the business — imagine having a bad experience and being met with passive aggressiveness, let alone seeing “the business” trying to pretty much argue over google reviews lol unfortunately, the administrative staff just don’t make it worth it

Overall, I will say my experience has been phenomenal! I’ve been going to Dr. Richey for my gynecology care and more recently my obstetrics care. The staff are wonderful, warm, engaging and treat you like a dear friend each visit. I enjoy chatting with the staff during my visits. However, my only reasoning for not providing 5 stars would be the receptionist that checks the patients in. I am not sure if this is just my experience but she is not inviting nor welcoming and it seems as if I’m inconveniencing her whenever I ask a question. Initially I simply chalked it up to maybe just a rough day but with each visit it appears that this is her normal.Hopefully, that gets better with time as it would be a shame for patients not to return due to the lack of professionalism of one.

Ive gone to CWC for 3 pregnancies and have gotten exceptional care for all my visits. I just had my 4th baby by emergency c section and I was scared for my baby in the moment but confident in Dr. Richey. Im so thankful for her knowledge and how caring she is.Not only has she always cared about the patients health but she also cares about whats happening in your life. She takes the time to listen and remembers what we talked about at previous visits. I have recommended CWC to anyone in need of their services. Thanks Dr. Richey!

I absolutely love this practice!! Dr. Richey has delivered both of my children and I could not have asked for a better physician. She is unbelievably kind, knowledgeable and above all truly cares for her patients. Throughout my pregnancies she has felt more like my family than my physician. Her staff were all invested in my care, remembered me and my history each visit. There is not one negative or unkind comment I have regarding the care I have received over the last 6 years I have been a patient.

Hi! Leaving this comment and review for other young (black) women looking for an OBGYN. I recently visited the women’s care center and for the most part I enjoyed my time. Everyone seemed fast and professional and absolutely loved Dr Richey. I will say it has been the hardest and most disappointing experience trying to get ahold of the office in general. I understand they are busy or probably short staffed but I can tell you that I have tried contacting them from 9a-3p without a single answer or response. I think it’s pretty ridiculous that there isn’t even a receptionist to take a single call ALL DAY LONG!? How am I supposed to communicate with the practice and discuss information and medication if I can’t even get an answer from a front desk???? It’s pretty frustrating knowing I have vital questions and details that need discussed but I cant get ahold of anyone. Again I have called this place over 11 times just today. I have no idea what to do or how to get help or assistance besides “sending an email” or “leaving a voice message “ for someone who hasn’t even been to the desk “all day.”

I wish I could give them a better rate but I am disappointed about this establishment and how they unfortunately had to let me go as a client. I just found out I was pregnant with my second child not to long ago and went for a confirmation check up. Fast forward I had a third appointment to see how I was doing and the baby’s progression and my husband just started a new job but said his insurance from previous job would carry over well it did not. Okay fine. I had been in communication that he has started a new job and we didn’t have the information only to call back once receiving the insurance information to be told they can no longer service me because I haven’t been seen in 30 days. To add I had my first child with this establishment and have been a patient for at least a year and half. Not really happy that I have to find another OBGYN during a pandemic but thank you for the service.

Called in on 5/3 after receiving a positive pregnancy test at home. The receptionist scheduled me an appointment for 5/10, which I was told would be for an ultrasound. I arrived to the appointment on 5/10, only to be told by the lab tech that I was too early for a proper ultrasound. I cried out of anger and confusion since this is my first pregnancy and these things were not explained to me initially. Also why would the receptionist schedule me for an ultrasound if it was too soon?? I received the ultrasound anyway (with hesitation) and although they offered to not bill for it, they still wasted by time (as I missed work to come) and money (as I ubered to my appointment). It was all around disappointing and Dr. Richey never met with me that day, which I felt like would’ve been appropriate (even if it was to personally apologize for her practice’s mishandling of my appointment). I was then rescheduled for 5/31 before leaving the office. Today I get a call stating they need to reschedule me because there won’t be a lab tech in that day… this place is careless & unprofessional. How can I trust this place with my pregnancy??? I switched to OhioHealth & it’s by far the best decision I’ve ever made! Even the receptionists are knowledgeable and ACTUALLY NICE (imagine that!)

While Dr. Richie and Carol (Midwife) are amazing their office staff could use some work. Whoever runs their scheduling is completely rude, has zero empathy for wasting peoples time and money, cancelling appts at the very last minute and putting them on hold WHILE patient is already driving and almost arrives to their scheduled appt. I understand emergencies happen but to be completely un-empathic is completely unprofessional and Now currently looking for another provider not that this person or the company cares.Edit 5/11/22: Clearly you do not hear mine and many others frustration. I am not upset about the fact my appointment was cancelled last min (twice). I get there is no controlling when emergencies happen. My issue, as with others, is your office staffs attitude and lack of empathy/compassion. while yes emergencies happen it is still frustrating when having to take time off of work and drive clear across town to get to an appt just for that appt to be cancelled just as a person is pulling up. That is time and money wasted, some empathy and patience would be appricaited when a patient is frustrated. We are allowed to be frustrated in the moment. But ultimately yes no one has control over emergencies but your office staff has control over their attitudes.

Ive been attending Columbus Womens Care since I was a teenager, almost 10 years now. The office works very well making sure they get you in ASAP. Unfortunately, I feel the quality of care and customer service has gone down, over the past few years. I love Dr. Ritchey and she has always given me great care and I will never down her or her establishment out of anger. What needs work is the people running her office namely the billing department. First who ever is the new person working in that department is very rude and should not handle the phones. Second Dora really surprised me by not responding back to the voicemails with a phone call to workout this matter she has always been prompt but now I have been waiting 2 weeks for a call and still no response. I was dismissed from this practice for a bill I never knew I had. I was only informed of the bill when scheduling for a new appt to find out it went to collections and that “office policy is to let you go when this occurs. I had been with this practice for 7 years and they have never had any billing issues with me (to the point where they no longer follow their own policy and give me a estimate of what my portion is to pay after insurance)and I was discarded without even a phone call. You would think that a phone call about a bill would come but that never happened either. I know Dr. Ritchey does not send out these generic impersonal letters herself but I do think she should re-evaluate her policy and maybe her staff. There is a pandemic going on right now and things are out of whack across the board so mistakes are made but this billing issue could have been worked out amicably. It’s very hard find doctors that you can trust especially for women of color and I trusted Dr. Ritchey wholeheartedly. I would still recommend her office but with a disclaimer.*update. I get that you are trying to save face but you and I know that you never responded to my CALLS as I stated previously we never spoke through email and I never received mail frankly because I have a new address. That you would have known had you called, because the number is the ame. Had you responded with facts that can be checked out you would have me. I keep every phone log and voicemail which there are none from this office regarding an outstanding bill. You and I both know you have never had a billing issue before so why would one start now. You guys dropped the ball.

The doctor I seen spent very little to no time with me for some one that just had a miscarriage thought a vagania exam would be required. I told him as well as nurse that had issues with a medicine and to my dismay that was exactly what was prescribed to me. I wasn’t explain on how when or what was expected from the other drug. Took the one medication as written end up at the hospital taken by ambulance at 3 am in the hospital for two day four bags of blood later. I was a new patient will never return or recommend anyone else. The nurse gave me my test results in the hall way in front of other nurse and patients paid my $50 dollar copay and $34 worth of medicine that almost killed me for him to look and speak to me more time then it did to write this while laying in a hospital bed. I don’t think he even introduced his self or shook my hand. Yes they say would reach out to me that have yet to happen maybe it not just the practice of the doctor but the facility it self need to be re-evaluated all together by an owner the hospital it connected to the state medical board or the Columbus medical association my insurance provider. Bad service in the medical field is not just like getting cold fries. I hope this update this just want to make sure that people aware that I have still yet to hear from this office regarding to my issues , never got a follow up call nothing but a bill for blood work that no one followed up with me about. I just became a new patient earlier this year (July 2020) and I will not be returning. I was told I could get x testing done, it would be done free of charge & simply added to my pap smear. I call about a week & 1/2 later for the results, and I’m informed the testing was never done. Thus, I either had to set up a new appointment or go elsewhere. I end up going elsewhere. A month later I get a bill from LabCorp (third party testing company). I call Columbus Women’s Care to ask how could I have gotten a bill for testing that wasn’t done? I’m told that I have to contact them myself & sort out the issue. I was surprised that their billing associate didn’t even try to lessen the inconvenience caused by THEIR disorganization. I then call LabCorp & find out the testing had actually taken place & they have had my results since mid July. As a result, I had to pay an extra bill.

I rated this practice as Excellent Because Dr. Ritchey delivered my son, and I have been going here for years. However, I was a bit diasapointed this time because what I came there to do was not done. I made it very clear when I made my appointment that I needed a specific service done and that was not communicated to Dr. Sosa. SoI had to reschedule to come back again. That caused me a great deal of inconvenience and It would have been nice To walk in to an office that was prepared to see me. Also, Dr. Sosa said he would call in a prescription that After two days still wasn’t called in. I had to call and speak with a nurse and she said she would send him a message. I am Thankful to Dr. Ritchey for taking over this office and being a Phenomenal Black Woman role model, and I do believe that This office can be as good as it was when Dr. Parker was practicing. But with all the upgrades and technology advances, Lets not forget about the simple things like paying attention to detail, and just being prepared for why an appointment was made in the first place. I wish nothing but the best for this office and hope to see it reach new heights in the future.

Where do I start....I ended up at the practice after my OBGYN of 16years retired and I found out I was pregnant with my third baby. Knowing I was pregnant and needing an OBGYN fast I picked this one from google. My first visit I was told that I could be having a miscarriage because the nurse could only find the sack and no heart beat. She literally only spent less than 5minutes trying. I went back one week later for a follow up and ultrasound with a different nurse and she immediately found the baby and heartbeat. I was 9 weeks pregnant. So I stressed for a whole week that I was losing my baby for no reason. I decided to give the office another chance and just not see that 1st nurse anymore. Little occurrences happened here and there throughout my pregnancy with this office but for some reason I opted to stay with them until I delivered. I was 8 months pregnant when my cesarean was scheduled. Fast forward 3 weeks just 3 DAYS before my scheduled surgery I get a call from this office stating that Dr Richie just looked at her schedule and is not available to do my delivery. It was on a Saturday and Dr Richie said that she didn’t approve the surgery and had “other” plans that weekend. Well I didn’t schedule the delivery as the patient your office scheduled this and you should have resolved this atleast a week ago (not 3 days before surgery date)! I already had family from out of town coming in and scheduled this time off with work. How do you call an emotional 9month pregnant woman and tell her that her delivery is getting pushed back another week!? Long story short after numerous calls to the office they found a doctor that would do my surgery on Sunday instead of Saturday. After delivery I seen the doctor a couple times but the night before discharge he said that he would not be in the next day and he would have all my discharge papers ready for me to leave. NOT! The next day comes and the doctor never left me any of my prescriptions or anything. The hospital had to have a random doctor on shift discharge me and give me my prescriptions. So instead of being discharged In the morning it was now late afternoon before I got out. After having the baby not one person from CWC including doctors followed up with how I or the baby was doing. Here I am 6months post baby and still have not had a follow up check up with an OBGYN from there! I have only heard from them to collect on a small balance from a claim that was just paid (months later) and there was a co payment needed from me. When I addressed them through the patient portal to tell them my concerns I was told that the office manager would contact me ASAP. Here 2 months later she still hasn’t contacted me or anyone from that office for that matter. Worst office ever! I wouldn’t refer anyone here. More concerned about money and doing “cosmetic” work then being an OBGYN office!!

I originally selected this practice, mixed online reviews notwithstanding, because of Dr. Richey. Having experienced bias on the part of past practicioners, I thought it important to have an Ob-Gyn who reflected me in key ways. I was pleased with my initial visit (January 2018) to Dr. Richey. She was professional, thorough, and personable. Nothing about that visit was consistent with the negative online reviews of the practice.Recently, her patients were notified that shed be on leave indefinitely, and her patients would be shifted to other doctors within the practice. I had the unfortunate need to see a gynecologist during this time, to address an urgent concern. I was told that the earliest available appointment would be a week and a half later. When the day of my appointment finally came, I was appalled by the unprofessional, impersonal treatment that was rendered. I waited for nearly an hour past my appointment time before being seen by a nurse who was seemingly as dismissive as she was flippant. I left, after having the nurse spend no more than five minutes in the room, with no more understanding about what was happening with my body than I had when I entered. The only explanation offered was that our bodies change as we get older. I dont anticipate returning unless/until Dr. Richey does, if at all.I have never been made to feel more insignificant in a moment of vulnerability and uncertainty.

There is no need to want to to talk now when I shoudl have been contacted weeks ago about the financial issue or notifed I was being let go from the practice instead you couldnt call you just decided a letter will suffice. I only know I was let go becuase I call you all not the other way around. PLUS this is a PANDEMIC and alot of people are being affect financially so payment might be delay for some people.
