Every appointment Ive had here thus far as been lovely, and the people working here have been nothing but kind. I go primarily for testosterone/transition services, and I cannot recommend PP enough for that. The folks at the front desk are super respectful and helpful, and the doctors have always been patient with me. Ive had many poor medical experiences in the past so I tend to be distrustful of medical professionals, but everyone has been understanding of that and its made the process so much easier. If I ever need any of the other services they provide and have a choice between PP or my PCP, Ill go with PP in a heartbeat.
Treatment in office was fine, but the doctor doesnt know how to write an accurate prescription. I need testosterone tubes prescribed, theyve been prescribing me packets. Originally, the doctor said I can put you on a cream. I had never heard of a cream but went with it, cause theyre a doctor so obviously they should know what they were talking about. Picked up the script, and sure enough it was gel. The same gel packets I showed them when I said I cant take this because of side effects. Called in, spoke to a nurse, they spoke to the doctor, was assured theyd send the meds to a different pharmacy (separate issue) and send in tubes. They sent a pump to the original pharmacy. Called in again. They sent packets to the original pharmacy. Had the correct pharmacy (same chain as original, different location) send it back with a note for tubes, not packets nor pump. They sent a script for packets, but at least it was to the correct place I guess. I asked for a manager call back on both calls after the first mess up, because if a doctor is advocating that they can prescribe a cream but you cant actually get a med in a cream method, that doctor needs some retraining to avoid future confusion. Im still waiting on that call.Ive been having to call almost every day for five days. This is extremely ridiculous at this point and I would recommend getting your HRT from literally anywhere else. The in-office care was great. Actually getting the script you need is apparently a struggle.
This place is the best! They go above and beyond to help. I had a trauma informed doctor do my exam and they were so considerate and well informed. The nurse was so helpful and the front desk lady was very kind. I feel welcome and safe here. I am so thankful for PP and all the resources they provide! Bless them ♥️
The ladies are always super kind. I went in for HRT nervous as all get out but they all made it so much easier to do it. They respect my pronouns and preferred name and its always a quick and easy visit.
Every single time Ive visited the hours are incorrect. DO NOT show up without making plans with them. Theyll either be closed for the day or have a random break for the building. Even if it says the hours are confirmed, they arent.
This was the worst experience I’ve had with PP. I prefer PP over my Family Dr when it comes to my contraceptive needs. I have private insurance, but I’ve found PP the most helpful in the past. This time I went to the Susan knapp center location on University Ave. I went in originally trying to get a pregnancy test. The front counter lady looked at me like I was lost. So I continue to explain that online it says a pregnancy test appt is not necessary, just walk in. She then said, no you don’t need an appt, take a seat. My computer is frozen I’ll be with you shortly. I got to PP about 9:05 am and they opened at 9. There was 1 other person in there besides me. I waited for 40 minutes while more people were coming and going, without ever being asked my name so I could be called back? It was extremely frustrating and I could tell THAT RECEPTIONIST did not have my needs in her best interest. It was the worst service I have experienced at ANY PP location. She made me feel stupid when I walked in and asked for a test, then has me sit there for 40 min without ever asking me any information? 3 people were seen and left, before I got so fed up and left the center. I will never go back to this PP and will absolutely not recommend it. DO NOT pride yourself on “no judgment, and women’s needs in their best interest” when I was set to the side when I needed help. There is no excuse, she should not have her job. I’m afraid I did not get a name, but she was the only lady at the front desk at the Susan Knapp center at 9am on 3/2/2018.
The receptionist Lihn Ha was extremely rude. I called to schedule an appointment and two weeks in a row the customer service told me to walk in. I get to the office and Lihn states they arent accepting any walk ins. I had called 2 hours prior and was told to arrive by 6:30. Got there at 6:15 & she said they arent taking walk ins. Which one is it? Then I asked for her supervisor and she hesitated to give me the information and didnt want to give the direct phone number either. Out right rude customer service & to think I support PP throughout all their controversy!
As someone who is not fully insured I really appreciate the reproductive health care I get at Planned Parenthood.
Making an appointment is super easy online. The ladies are caring and good at what they do. I feel safe here.
