If you are considering to start seeing Dr. Maser, please re-consider your decision. Here is why. My previous OB&GYN doctor retired in Apr 2024. I looked around and found Dr. Maser and scheduled my 1st appointment with her in May 2024. I waited for over an hour in the office for my 1st appointment. When I asked her assistant how much longer I need to wait, I was told about another hour since they were running behind. I told her Id like to reschedule as I didnt want to wait for more than 2 hours for my appointment. So, they rescheduled to a date in Jun. 10 minutes before my 2nd appointment, I got a call from Dr. Maser while I almost arrived at her office, telling me their system was down and she was not able to see me. Her assistant will call me to reschedule once their system is up. A week later, I got a call to reschedule me to today, 7/15, for the 3rd appointment. Today when I got to the office, I was told their system was down again and the doctor was not able to see me. they said they called me earlier. When I checked my phone, yeah they called 20 minutes before my appointment. Anyway, I am not going to reschedule my appointment with them again. This is ridiculous. I was seeing my previous OB&GYN doctor for 10 years (he is a very reputable doctor in this area) and never run into situation like this before. They rescheduled me maybe once or twice due to urgent surgeries, but they always called me the first thing in the morning on my appointment date. Maybe it is time for Dr Masers office to upgrade their system and try to execute some professionalism to give patients at least 2 hours ahead notice for rescheduling appointment instead of 10-20 minutes.
Dr Maser and her team are the best.I’ve delivered one child with her and had a miscarriage. My birth turned into a traumatic delivery and I was glad that Dr Maser was taking care of the both of us. She was constantly checking in to see how I was doing and healing. She is extremely professional and caring and goes out of her way to take care of her patients. I honestly don’t know what would’ve happened if I went to another doctor. She is a doctor you can fully trust. I felt so cared for by her through all of my experiences. She is blunt and honest, but it’s out of a heart that knows what’s best for her patients.I recently went through a miscarriage and was pretty distraught and she was extremely comforting… and so was her staff. It felt like family.I absolutely love this place and I know in the past people say the wait time is bad, but it’s not that way anymore. If you want a doctor who you can fully trust to make the best decisions while caring for you as a person and staff that is kind and supportive then go to this office. She gives her patients nothing but the best and refers them to no one but the best. I’m very thankful for Dr Maser.
Dr. Maser and her staff are phenomenal. If you want to be part of a practice where the doctor knows you well and the staff recognize you every time you are there, this is the place to be. There is nothing worse than going to a practice where you will see a different doctor every time you have an appointment. Dr. Maser goes above and beyond to get to know her patients on a personal level and is there to take care of them as a WHOLE person. She will spend time with you and will make sure all your questions are answered before moving on to the next patient. This is most likely the cause of the longer wait times. If you do not have the time to invest in your health, then go to another practice. However, if you want to see the best the area has to offer, take some time out of your schedule (bring your laptop, book, whatever) and book an appointment with Dr. Maser. You will not be disappointed. She has delivered 2 of my children (3rd on the way). Nothing made me feel more comfortable than knowing that Dr. Maser was in the delivery room. She is so amazing that even though my new insurance plan does not cover her office, I believe in her so much that I am paying out of pocket to be seen by her.
Dr. Maser has been my OBGYN for 15 years, she did both my c sections and last year pushed me to do my first mammo, resulting in finding I had breast cancer. she personally called me with my diagnosis, and checked in with me throughout the chemotherapy, radiation, and bilateral mastectomy. She truly cares for her patients as if they were her friends, she cried with me, hugged me, laughed with me. I will forever be grateful for the care and service she provides to womens health.
Dr. Maser was a recommendation from a nurse that worked with her. She said she was the best OB she had worked with in her 20+ year career. Having been her patient for years now, I can tell you its worth the small downside of the wait to see her. The decisions she has helped me make in regards to my healthcare (never pushy, very informative), the care in which she thinks through them, and the recommendations/referrals she provides to some of the other best doctors in the area for other needs, all sum up to being well worth any wait. Her staff are also the kindest and most professional Ive experienced at a doctors office. So yes, you will need to wait for your appointment but being healthy because you have an experienced, professional doctor and surgeon is worth it.
Dr. Masers exceptional clinical expertise coupled with her excellent care of her patients makes her a one of a kind doctor that is rare to find and a true asset to the field of medicine. Ive been a patient of Dr. Maser for many years and travel quite a distance to see her which is definitely worth the drive. Dr. Maser and her caring office staff made my experience having a healthy pregnancy and birth of my first child a wonderful one. Words truly cant convey what an outstanding physician Dr. Maser is and I recommend her to others with the highest regard.
The negative reviews really frustrate me because Dr. Maser is truly a phenomenal doctor. Do your research. If you read any of her negative comments, you will see that it is due to her wait times... yes, her wait times are very long. If this is something that you can’t handle then you will probably be better suited for another doctor. Let me make it clear that her wait times are long because she takes her time with each of her patients. If an appointment only needs a small amount of time, great... but if it needs more attention then you better believe that she will provide it. Her care for her patients is something that just isn’t seen anymore. She acts as if each patient is a loved one. She doesn’t skimp on time or attention. She is extremely thorough and diligent. I have always felt in great hands with her as my doctor and wouldn’t want anyone else in charge of my care. To me these qualities outweigh the wait times by far. I make sure to allow extra time in my schedule for her appointments and I bring along work/reading. She is a rare find of a doctor and I am so glad to be one of her patients.
I switched to Dr. Maser when I was about 22 weeks pregnant. I had been going to a large OB/GYN group in the area and felt I was not being treated as an individual but rather a number. The doctors were backing out of the door before I had finished asking questions. I made the change to Dr. Maser on a friends recommendation and I am so happy that I did. Yes, the wait was sometimes long but other times I had no wait. However, the care that Dr. Maser showed once she saw me was exceptional. I never felt like a number. She didnt just act like she cared. I know she genuinely did care about me and my new baby. I cant recommend her enough.
I trust Dr. Maser and her team with my life. My oncologist recommended her, and it was instantly apparent why: Dr. Maser has advocated for me, educated me, listened, and provided the highest level of care. And her nursing and office staff are truly fantastic. I give her and her team the highest possible marks.
Dr. Maser is literally, the best OB/GYN I have ever had experience with. She is compassionate, professional and honest. She helped me through some of the toughest moments of my life, and I am so very glad she was there for me. I would give her 5 stars, but the appointment wait time is truly atrocious. She is definitely worth the wait, but perhaps her office can adopt an online tool to show wait times so her appointments know when to show up?
I absolutely love Dr. Maser and her wonderful team. I have been a patient of hers for almost 3 years now. They are extremely caring and considerate. I had a high risk pregnancy and received optimal care. I honestly believe that my son is healthy in large part because of her pre-natal care. She is brilliant and strives for excellence in everything.
Dr Maser and her team deliver outstanding care. I first went to Dr Maser when I was pregnant with my first child. I had seen a few OB/GYNs but I felt like a number in their practices. The care I have received at Dr Masers was unlike any other doctor I have seen. The front desk staff are lovely, the nurses are well versed and knowledgeable and there is nothing quite like the level of care you get from a specialist like Dr. Maser. You may have to wait a while to be seen if there is a medical emergency she is tending to. Emergency appointments and hospital visits will happen when you have a practice that handles a lot of high risk patients! Having been on the other side of the equation when you have an emergency she is there for you, she will take the time to diagnose the problem properly and she will offer you emotional support during the emergency. Dr. Maser will call the hospital before you get there after a car accident while pregnant and she/her staff will check on you ten times to make sure you and baby are ok!I have been a high risk pregnant lady and I have gone there for regular check ups. Each time I was felt at ease and I felt they were taking care of me. I got to know the nurses and they remembered me when I walked in 8 years later pregnant with my 3rd child!I highly recommend this practice!
Dr. Maser and Dr. DeMik are both excellent compassionate doctors, and so are the nurses. However, the way they run this office is utterly disrespectful of patients time. I have never been seen without waiting an hour (often more), and once waited 2.5 hours for Dr. Maser. That is not an exaggeration. If they consistently run so behind, why do they continue to schedule so many patients, and continue to accept new patients?! I will be switching doctors after I have this baby!
Dr. Maser and her staff are outstanding. For the first time in years, I believe I have found a doctor that takes her time with me, listens to my concerns and crafts a path forward. Everytime I have been in the office I am astounded by the comprehensive personalized attention that I have received. Not only did Dr. Maser finally diagnose the underlying cause for my issue, she called the other specialist that I needed to see in order to streamline the scheduling process. Then guess what, her staff called to follow up, ensure that I did not have any questions and that I was able to schedule an appointment with the other specialist.I recommend Dr. Maser to all of my friends and feel so fortunate that I am now under her care. Her knowledge and expertise are unparalleled. It is so refreshing to be treated like an individual instead of a number.
Ive been seeing Dr. Maser for many years. She is a good doctor, but I cant deal with the front desk, very rude and disrespectful. You cant trust any information they gave to you , you cant question about anything, they would hang up your phone, they treated you like an idiot. They used to be very good when I started to see Dr. Maser. I have to change my ob doctor because of all unpleasant experience with her front desk.I would give Dr. Maser and her nurse team five star, they are great! But only two star because of the front desk, awful experience.
Dr. Maser is the best OBGYN I have ever seen. She and her staff are friendly, super knowledgeable and attentive. While you may have to wait a little bit to see her, it’s simply because she takes as much time as she needs with her patients and in this day, that is a rare find. Dr. Maser goes above and beyond in her practice and focuses on your entire well being. She has noticed things outside of the OBGYN scope, then referred me to other doctors for specific issues and they have been great as well. If it wasn’t for her those issues would have gone untreated. I appreciate the fact that she takes time to know her patients well and their health is of the utmost priority to her. Everyone on her staff is amazing too...the surgery coordinator, nurses and front desk staff, they are ALL so friendly and take time as well to know you by name. They also do a great job at setting expectations with new patients that there may be a wait, so you’ve already been prepped for that before hand. I would never want to see another OBGYN. It’s hard to find quality doctors these days and she is off the charts amazing! I’d gladly wait a little while to see her any day.
Dr Maser is simply put the best doctor in her specialty in the DC metro area. She has been our Dr for all of our children. I would not go to anyone else. She is professional and provides safe, excellent, sage advice. A hard worker who puts patient first before the business of medicine. We are forever indebted to her and her family for all of the blood, sweat, tears and sleepless nights she puts in for her patients and her babies. Thank you Dr Maser for everything. Your work ethic and ethic/morals are a standard I strive seeing you in action. Forever and ever grateful. Blessings and karma to you and your entire family. Sincerely, The Nusraty family.
Dr. Maser is fantastic. My son was a week past due date and was more than 8 lbs 5 oz. I was worried in the beginning but everything just went so smoothly with Dr. Maser taking into consideration of every possible situation. My boy was born healthy and happy. Dr. Maser also performed perfect circumcision on him. Couldnt be happier. My daughter was delivered by a different Ob in Reston area. My experience with Dr. Maser is way, way better than the previous Ob. Dr. Maser is much more knowledgeable, patient focused, explains everything clearly, sufficient advance planning for procedures, very experienced at anticipating and controlling risks. She is the best!!!
Shes been my doctor for over 16 years! She delivered my daughter via C-section and it was a wonderful experience! She expects perfection and delivers perfection. She truly cares about her patients. Her staff is equally as caring and professional. Love Leslie, Donna-Fe, Beth, Nicoletta and every other member of her team! Wish all doctors had staffs like hers!
I have been a patient of Dr. Maser’s for many years. I drive a long distance to see her because she is knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely cares about her patients; simply put, exceptional. I’ll never forget her concern many years ago, when she personally called the hospital for me to request images “stat”. She is also honest and up front - she sincerely wants to know about her patients’ overall health and when there’s a need, informs the patient plainly and directly.I would have assigned 5 stars, but for years the wait times were atrocious. I understand the occasional emergency, or underestimating time needed in unique circumstances but this was the norm. I had literally waited several hours, each time telling myself it was the last. The last visit I swore was my last attempt - I would not return if the wait time had not improved, despite the superb care. I was pleasantly surprised that the wait time had improved dramatically and, unprompted,, I was told that she had been making a concerted effort to resolve this problem.I see some recent reviews that indicate this may still be a recurring problem, but am hoping it’s not the case - it’s not easy to find the quality healthcare she provides, and I don’t want to change doctors...but I can’t tolerate wasting an entire day for a doctor’s appointment (not to mention, the raise in my blood pressure as a result is probably counterproductive). Fingers crossed that this problem is resolved!
The absolute BEST doctor. Been seeing her for 5+ years. She delivered my daughter and I can confirm that if you have to have a C section she is the doctor you want without question. Every medical professional who hears that she is my doctor remarks that she is one of the best and that they recommend her. Yes, there’s a wait to see her. Know why? Because she takes her time with each patient to make sure that she *really* sees them.
I was one of Dr. Masers first patients & have followed her to three different practices until she established her own. She DEMANDS excellence from her staff but as far as patient care, I cant express how incredible she is. She saw me through 2 very high risk pregnancies. What I find INCREDIBLE about her is that some years ago, my mother was in ICU at Fairfax & I couldnt get anyone to tell me what was going on and there did not seem to be a doctor heading the team. I was desperate. Being the only doctor I felt comfortable with, I called Dr. Maser. NOT ONLY DID SHE COME IN & TAKE OVER CARE OF MY MOTHER (not a gyn patient) BUT SAW HER THROUGH TO DISCHARGE WHEN WE WERE SURE SHE WOULD NEVER MAKE IT. I will wait all day to have a doctor with that kind of dedication & knowledges& heart. So bring a book & relax. You are getting THE BEST POSSIBLE CARE TO BE FOUND IN THR AREA. Imam forever grateful to her.
Bottom Line up Front: this is not a clinic that values customer service. If you are okay with rude, unreliable staff and a cold and arrogant doctor, then maybe Dr. Maser’s clinic is for you. Otherwise, look somewhere else.We had an appointment with Dr. Maser that she had to cancel because she had a patient in distress. Obviously that was not a problem at all. The staff made us sit and wait, however, for thirty minutes after telling us our appointment was cancelled before they would give us a new appointment. Okay, not great, but forgivable. When rescheduling, the staff told us that we could go get blood drawn at the beginning of our next appointment while we were waiting to see the doctor. Great! A convenience! One hour before our rescheduled appointment, the office called…another emergency. Of course we understood. It bodes well for us that the doctor will reschedule lower priority appointments for an emergency, right? The staff gave my wife two options to reschedule, 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. the next day. My wife said she would call back and called me. I had a meeting that I could not cancel the next day that I would not finish until 1:15. My wife called the clinic back approximately 40 minutes after having spoken with the staff, and was told that they had given away the 3:00 appointment. Really?? After cancelling our appointment twice they could not hold the slot open for even an hour? “Don’t worry,” the staff told my wife, “the doctor usually runs at least an hour or 90 minutes late for her appointments anyway.” Okay, well that is not very encouraging… My wife asked if she could get her blood drawn before seeing the doctor at 1:00 while she waited for me to show up, especially since the doctor would be so late. The staff said that was not possible until after seeing the doctor and denied ever having told us that it was possible even though we had both heard it. I can understand that you need to see the doctor first, but the staff took no responsibility for giving us incorrect information previously. My wife picked me up after the meeting and we raced to the appointment, showing up at the clinic just before 2:00. The doctor came out and told us that she was running behind and it would be a long time before she could see us. She asked why we were late and we explained the situation. We emphasized that we completely understood the need for her to cancel the appointments, but the way her staff handled the rescheduling had left a bad taste in our mouth. And here is the straw that broke the camel’s back: Instead of giving any consideration whatsoever to the possibility that her office mishandled the situation, without hesitation and in a belligerent voice, the doctor told us that we should find another clinic. Needless to say, we did. I love my wife too much to subject her to that kind of care.
So, I read these posts and some are correct in the longer wait time. I just want to say that I was one of the patients that made you wait last week. I rushed myself to the ER with terrible pain in my left side and thought it was an appendicitis. After hours in the ER, I learned it was a cyst on my right ovary. I called Dr. Maser and she calmed me down and said to come in and she would see me. I came in on a Monday, without an appointment, in excruciating pain. Dr. Maser prioritized me above the other patients and spent two hours with me as soon as she got out of the OR. She found me a bed in the hospital to have an MRI. She spent a lot of time with me when I needed her help, and she fought for me to get the help I needed. As I was doubled over in pain, I thought of those who were in the waiting room when I was taking up her time. I know I waited in the past, and now I appreciated them waiting for me when I was in a crisis. I was terrified and needed help. The next day, she performed laparoscopic surgery to remove a huge cyst on my right ovary. She dropped by my room many times, called me to see how I was doing in the hospital, and even called after the surgery twice to see how I was and to tell me the pathology report. So, for those of you who hate the wait, I totally understand. I hate it to. But from someone who really needed help and could not wait, I felt compassion, trust, and a fight for my best interest when I needed it most. I have been to many doctors who I do not wait for (who respect my time) and who struggle to really care about me or my health because they are too busy. They get me in, and they get me out. One primary care doc missed my cancer diagnosis completely and never called to see how I was doing, but hey I never waited very long in her office. After these experiences, I learned that I want the best and if I have to wait, Ill wait. For those who had to wait last Monday, thank you. I really appreciate you letting me go first. I really needed it.And for you Dr. Maser, Thank you for being a doctor who spends time with your patients. In a world where medicine is changing and doctors have more incentive to see more patients and spend less time with them, you have tried to stay true to your beliefs in the best patient care. That is not easy in this environment. You listen, you have a passion for the work you do, and you are a skillful doctor. Thank you for not bending and for being the type of doctor patients can rely on when they need you. I wish more doctors were like you, and I would wait for them too!!!!!
I have known Dr. Maser for more than a decade. She is caring and very knowledgeable!!She would take her time and answer whatever questions you may have!!I know wait time is long but well worth it. I usually take a day off or give myself 3 hours when I go to her office. I highly recomend Dr. Maser!!! She is simply the BEST.
Dr. Maser is one of the very few who genuinely cares about each and every one of her patients. She’s a true expert. I’m so glad I was referred to her!
She is a great doctor but I have had to wait 2 to 3 hours for an appointment...no exaggeration. Before my most recent appointment they called to move my time because they had no appointments before or after. I couldnt because I had scheduled a babysitter. Still I waited more than 2 hours to be seen. It is unkind to waste peoples time so unnecessarily. If it was an occasional thing I would understand, but it is ALWAYS like this. Needless to say Im getting a new OB and am kicking myself for not having done it sooner.
Dr. Maser quite frankly saved my life. To all the people who don’t like her wait, it is WORTH it. She listens and talks and answers all questions and concerns. And orders tests that give answers and refers you to proper care outside of her specialty. I now have a hopeful prognosis. Bring some NETFLIX or reading to her waiting room and you won’t be sorry for the care you receive. I would rate 10 stars if I could!!!!!
Dr. Maser is a good doctor but I literally wait for over 2 hours to be seen each time. The wait makes the entire experience unpleasant. For this reason, I will be switching my OBGYN.
She will make sure that mother and baby are safe. She take pride in her work, very thorough and caring
I have been going to Doctor Maser for 2 years, and each time i visit her office the wait is over two hours. This is infuriating and makes Dr. Maser not worth my business as a younger woman.
Dr. Maser is simply the best. My wife like her I like her she is a great great doctor and we are lucky.
Dr. Maser and her staff of nurses and front office support are all phenomenal. I’ve been a patient for 12 years and I look forward to my annual visits.
I agree Dr Maser is fantastic and the nurses are very caring as well. Be prepared to wait but it is worse it because Dr . Maser is the Best
Poor service and complete lack of respect for patients time spent waiting or getting a simple order. This team cannot handle the patients they have. Look elsewhere.
Wonderful doctor and staff. Best of the best!
The wait makes the experience unpleasant 4 hours of wait is unacceptable
