Its difficult to find a doctor of Dr. Davis caliber ever since she retired. Ive seen Dr. Davis for over a decade, having found her when I first moved to NoVA in my 20s. Dr. Davis was phenomenal at her practice. She was kind and warm at every visit-- she remembered all the life events I shared with her and she never forgot to ask how my Mom was doing or how her treatments were going when my Mom was fighting LMS. After my Mom passed away, Dr. Davis continued kindness was something I always appreciated, as well as the incredible level of care I received as her patient. Its been difficult to find a doctor like Dr. Davis but the search continues! I truly hope Dr. Davis is enjoying her well deserved retirement. She will always have my gratitude for her incredible level if care and to her decades of dedication and service to women!
I have been a patient for years with Dr. Davis. I dont mind her cold beside or matter of fact demeanor. Dr. Davis did not do a pap smear on me this year, I have had one annually faithfully since I was 17. She didnt tell me if I requested on I could get one, but her office has decided to comply with the insurance companies request to not do them every 3 to 5 years. I was not informed of this until well after my appointment. Her office staff also said that unless I had a negative result, which I have, I would not get one every year. Going to another doc that actually cares if I live or die and at least gives me the option to pay for a test I think I need rather than make that decision with the insurance companies for me.
My interaction with Dr. Davis was great. Shes not the problem at the practice. Its more a systems issue and the other staff I dealt with. They made a mistake with my blood work, then told me they would call me with results and didnt, then told me they would talk with me about follow up with results, and didnt....then when I called frustrated and they told me they posted results to my patient portal - as a brand-new first-time patient I had never heard about the portal nor did I have access to it and the explanation I got was less than satisfactory. Very unfortunate because I liked the doctor very much but not keen on going back to this practice ever again .
I never write reviews about doctors or anything but I refuse to let anyone go through what I went through with Dr Margaret Davis. I think Im being beyond generous for even giving her one star. So I woke up one morning with extreme pain and wasnt even able to sit normally, so I made an appointment to see her. As soon as I got there she asked why I never ordered my birth control (which keep in mind the last time we spoke she told me she was goi long to order it for me since patients cant order things like that) and then proceeded to tell me that she couldnt see anything which was surprising because she figured I had just gotten herpes or something (in her words) while I physically pointed out the lump that I had found she told me that its nothing because she couldnt see anything. At this point the lump was about the size of a grape so the fact that she couldnt see it was absolutely ridiculous. She proceeded to put the speculum in and when I nearly jumped off the table in pain she told me to just relax it doesnt hurt that bad. So being incredibly frustrated I went and found a new obgyn and got into her office the following Monday. Within the 5 days between appointments it had already doubled in size and the new doctor instantly saw it and sent me to a specialist. I ended up needing to get two separate surgeries one to drain the infection and one to get the huge cyst removed. The day that I got released from the hospital weeks later Margaret Davis called me telling me that the herpes test came back negative which she never told me she even did and then when I told her my situation and everything that had happened she got extremely rude and snippy with me about the fact that I went to someone else and then hung up on me. So please please please read reviews about her before you go to her because this is peoples lives that are on the line when you go to the doctors and she could care less about anyones well being.
