I am very grateful to Dr Kale, from the first day I had the opportunity to meet her at my routine appointment I felt very safe and confident in her diagnosis and solutions to my problem, I had a hysterectomy two weeks ago and I want to leave my testimony for your treatment and management during the process was exceptional. I have no words how to thank Dr. Kale for changing my quality of life. I feel very good after my surgery. I recommend 100% Dr. Kale and Comprehensive Womans health stuff.

I love this practice. The office staff are very friendly. I have been a patient of Dr. Hazelrigg for over 10 years. He is very knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. Ive had three babies and a miscarriage while his patient. He saved my first daughters life - the hospital let her be in distress for two hours before calling Dr. Hazelrigg. When he arrived, he worked quickly and calmly to deliver her safely. Even though he wasnt on call the night I delivered my second baby, he made sure to stop by the next morning and see how we were doing. When I miscarried twins, he was very compassionate in explaining the ultrasound results as well as explaining the options going forward. Finally, with my last baby, I had some health concerns he took seriously in the first trimester, quickly referring me to specialists. And, my baby had significant concerns detected in the third trimester in which we also were very quickly referred to specialists. Not only did he check on my physical health during this time, but he also asked about my mental health at each visit given the diagnosis of my baby.

Dr. Kale butchered me during a Surgical Total Hysterectomy. She cut my ureter and didnt even know it until the hospital notified her that I was bleeding into my abdomen. I was left with a surgical injury so severe that I was put on a nephrostomy tube was placed in my kidney and a bag of urine wrapped around my leg while trying to work with extreme pain. A urologist had to put a stent in which lasted for over 6 months and I endured yet more surgeries to repair her carelessness. She is not qualified to do any type of surgery in my opinion. Do not be fooled by her Top Doc review in Phoenix Magazine. Most of their reviews are based on her peers beliefs, not patients!

Let me start by saying I have not had the best experience during doctor visits and I tend to get nervous before visits, however, with that being said, everyone at Comprehensive is so very nice and pleasant to work with. From the clerks at front desk greeting you with a smile to the nurse that takes your weight and height, to the dude who drew my blood. My Dr. Vanessa did not treat me like a number in line but asked important questions and I can say I truly feel like she has my best interest in hand. I am so thankful foe them.

I have been a patient on and off for over 15 years and today I decided that I would be better off finding a provider that values their patients time more. The time waits are loooooooooooong and really just a suggestion and not meant to be honored. I’ve waited upwards of 1.5 hrs in the lobby before even being called back and then more waiting for the provider to see you. There’s a sign in the lobby that mentions the long time wait but everyone is treated the same and gets the same attention. I don’t find this to be true at all. 2 out of my last 3 appointments I was rushed and felt the providers were rushing me out of the exam room. I spoke with the office manager today and she said there are practices in place by staff and MA’s to make sure they’re checking on their patients but I’ve never had that happen. I don’t find it acceptable to have my time wasted and left to just sit in the waiting around wondering when it’s going to be my turn even though I made an appointment! Some appointments take longer than others and I understand that, I’m not unreasonable in that way. At least be communicative so people are not left in a lobby or waiting room in a dressing gown in an exam room which is freezing and uncomfortable. At the end of the day I am the customer and I will not be returning.

I have been a patient here for more than 10 years now. My experience with Rosemary and Cindy have always been positive, however that is not enough to keep me coming back at this point. I have been feeling less than satisfied with the service and staff in the office for a few years now. The general atmosphere in the office always seemed tense to me, so I chalked the attitudes/rudeness and moods up to that. However these last few experiences were the last straw for me. I’ve generally had problems with scheduling at the office, a handful of appointments canceled last minute on their end. In November 2021, I had a bad experience with an ultrasound tech making inappropriate comments during the visit, (techs are not supposed to comment on what they see for that very reason, let the doctor inform the patient of any noteworthy) I mentioned this to my doctor at my next visit, how uncomfortable and stressed I was made to feel because of that. Now in Sept 2022 I called them to try and schedule an appointment because I was having a medical issue. Only to be told by Cathy that I had a balance (which I was unaware of) and that I would not be allowed to make that appointment until I pay the balance. I understand needing to stay on top of your billing. But to not allow a person to even schedule an appointment for their health concerns, is unreasonable in my opinion (especially over a “small balance” of $15.01). Personally, I sometimes have anxiety over doctors visits, it took me 3 months to work up the nerve to call, only to be turned away in that moment. Very disappointing that they would adopt this policy. I have paid the balance, and will not be returning to their office.

The office manager at this particular location is incredibly rude, I received a bill with no explanation of charges. When I called asking for an explanation I was told they didn’t bill my insurance because my plan is out of network, they made me a cash paying patient without my knowledge. I understand that it may be my responsibility to know my coverage, but I also believe that the practice should play a role in informing patients, I would not have come here if I were given that information upfront. Very poor management of the situation. Based on the office manager’s reaction I am sure I am not the only one this happened to.

Great office. Everyone was friendly, and I was able to get an appointment very soon after calling, even though I was a new patient. The wait was a bit long in the waiting room (85 minutes), but once I got in with the doc, he explained everything thoroughly and took his time with me, so it was worth the wait in the end. I ended up going to a specialist in another office for my needed surgery, but this office coordinated with the specialist and were helpful in the transition. Thank you!

I can’t even express my level of disappointment and anger with this office and my doctor in particular who I have seen for years. I went in for my 10 week appointment/ultrasound and my doctor had forgotten to schedule the ultrasound for before the appointment (it was in our messaging in the portal that he would schedule it, not me) so we had to have the appointment first and get squeezed in for an ultrasound afterwards.Unfortunately, in the ultrasound we found out our baby no longer had a heartbeat. Which brings up the incredibly cold and unkind ultrasound technician that works there. She is the only ultrasound tech there so if you want any type of compassionate ultrasound experience I urge you not to go here for that reason alone. I’m still puzzled why that is even her profession. Wish I could chalk it up to she was having a bad day but, I had three ultrasounds with her and she was terrible at each.Anyway, the tech obviously could not give us any information, but we knew it was bad news. She left the room and the medical assistant came back and said my doctor had left for surgery and couldn’t speak with me and he would have to “message me on the portal later”.?!?!? Send me home with zero answers and message me on the portal that my baby died? Absolutely Disgusting.I would not let that happen and refused to leave without speaking to a doctor. Another doctor was finally sent in for 2 minutes to confirm that my baby no longer had a heart beat and I would be sent home with medication to induce my miscarriage. It’s been a month and I never heard another word from my doctor. Except, of course, to receive a bill with the additional 2nd physician charge for that day for begging to speak to a doctor after the ultrasound. It should probably be office practice that a woman, especially a woman with recurrent miscarriage, is always able to speak to a doctor if needed after an ultrasound without needing to plead. Just a thought. And, at any point, maybe getting a quick check in from your doctor who knows you have been trying for a baby for a long time and are probably devastated.Or even checking to make sure your patient is recovering well after a miscarriage and didn’t end up in the hospital, as I did.Too much to ask? I guess so.I have since found another doctor and will never go back here. An already heartbreaking experience was made much worse.Do better.

Thr name says Comprehensive, however the reality is that once you arent a baby factory, they wont help you anymore. Nearly 24 years as a patient, moving thru all the womanly phases of life. But now that Ive permanently closed the baby maker and Im moving into the menopausal years, they suddenly dont know how to address my needs. I shouldnt have to beg for diagnostics or symptom management. A provider shouldnt tell me that im not having the symptoms that i am very much having. I shouldnt hear a provider say they dont know whats wrong. Or worse yet, the suggested treatment was always surgical. In one visit, I was told that there was nothing wrong with my uterus, but a hysterectomy was suggested. What? Why would we remove an organ you just told me had no problem? $$$ thats why. Failure to care about a womans post fertile years and accompanied issues/symptoms. I felt unheard, dismissed, gaslit. Even coming in educated and informed on what is available made no difference. It pains me to look back on previous years and previous medical issues and how they were addressed, or not. I just wasnt as informed or knew how to advocate for myself. Also, since moving to New location, absolute chaos. Takes forever to be called back. Dont bother leaving a message with an MA, they either dont call back, or they call back with the most ridiculous info/suggestions. Id complained to office manager more than once about lousy MAs, nothing changed. Unless you are pregnant or having a surgery, you arent permitted to see an MD. The NPs and PAs leave so much to be desired. Rosemary is very dismissive and judgemental. Cindy is a gaslighter. Vanessa is flighty. None of the providers seem to be trauma informed/trained. I put up with mistreatment and poor medical care for far to long due to my fears of having to share my intimate details with another provider. But, after having my life altering symptoms blown off for 2 years, I had to leave. Within 3 months of getting a new Dr, I have a diagnosis and a treatment and I am finally getting relief, no surgery required! CWHC is a no way.

Ive been going to this office for 3 years. For my pregnancy, for regular care afterwards, and also for ftm hrt. Ive had a really great experience with most of the doctors and the staff. Cyndy Churgin in particular is probably my favorite doctor I have Ever had. I have severe anxiety and depression so I struggle to advocate for myself but she can always tell if Im not saying something and puts so much effort into providing the best care she can. Ive never had that kind of experience with a doctor before. The doctors here have done more for me than I ever expected and its one of the only professional offices where Ive felt safe talking about being transgender. The only negative thing Id say about this office is that I very strongly discourage seeing Dr. Mechelke. I saw him during my pregnancy and Ive never had a worse experience with a doctor. I saw him through my pregnancy and because he was so dismissive of my pain and questions, I didnt even know I was allowed to take Tylenol until the last two months. He would make jokes about how pregnant women always complain so much about their pain. So I went through chronic, Very painful yeast infections as well as an ignored umbilical hernia because he wouldnt take any mention of pain seriously. At best, he would at least stay in the room when I had a man with me to ask the questions on my behalf. Dr. Mechelke was the most traumatic experience I have ever had with a doctor. But I still stayed with this office because every other doctor there have been incredible to me.

Scheduling is horrible at this office and it was my fault that their system didn’t communicate with my phone and leave a message that their system says was left. You schedule something well ahead of time to be told once you’re in the office for your appointment that it’s cancelled. One “phone call” is all you get but you can reschedule again another month out and take another day off of work to do so. Office staff was not helpful and was quite rude. I am planning on having my first baby and the way the office is managed by Kathy is truly so unorganized, and I cant imagine as a new mom, having to dealing with this. What prompted me to write a bad review was Kathys response on the phone, and she was not sorry to see me go and did not care to see what went wrong after I explained I had a horrible experience. I am upset that I have called her numerously at the front desk to inquire about my lab results and she does not pass the information over to the doctors. I have called over 3 times, and each call requires a 15 min hold time before an answer, if you get one. Just not worth it at this point and I still dont know my results (unbelievable!) Thanks Kathy!

ReviewI’m normally not the one to write a review, but after my experience I would be remiss if I didn’t. I received the recommendation to see Dr. Hazelrigg for OBGYN care from another provider. Early on in my pregnancy, I began having severe abdominal cramping, and at the 5.5 week mark, I made an appointment with Dr. Hazelrigg. When doing so, I was hoping to speak with a triage nurse to determine if I should be seen sooner or even go to the emergency room. The receptionist laughed and said, “oh honey, I can’t give you medical advice,” as if I were asking her to diagnose me.I continued on to see Dr. Hazelrigg, who ordered blood work and an ultrasound to be completed that day. The scheduling gal was demanding there was no ultrasound availability until 4 days from now, and became visibly upset when I said he wanted it done the same day. Following that encounter, I proceeded to the lab, who was just as unpleasant. I needed a lab slip for my HCG levels to be drawn 48hrs after the 1st, and asking for such a piece of paper deemed itself a chore that put the lab techs completely out of their way.Next, I came back later that day to complete my ultrasound. Unfortunately, my husband was unable to accompany me, so I asked the tech if I could FaceTime him, to which we responded, “I don’t allow FaceTime” and then said, “you’re more than welcome to walk back to the front and reschedule” in a condescending tone. I explained this needed to be completed today, and without any further discussion, she proceeded. Throughout the exam, she did not speak to me, explain anything she was looking at or labeling, and then abruptly said, “yup, no heartbeat.” Thankfully the doctor had warned me this could be expected this early on, so I asked if a baby was seen in the correct spot, to which she said, “that’s why you’re here isn’t it?” I couldn’t get my belongings together fast enough to leave.I repeated an ultrasound a week after the 1st, and unfortunately did not hear from the doctor or MA following up, even after I sent a portal message to ensure the 2nd ultrasound didn’t raise any concerns.I decided it was time to transfer my care. I took in the paper to request my medical records be transferred and asked, “could this please be done as soon as possible?” With one office staff rolling her eyes, the other responded, “yeah I’m not sure about as fast as possible. It says right here it can take up to 7 days.” At this point, I had had enough and asked to speak to a manager. Come to find out, they don’t have a manager! I asked if there were anyone I could speak to, and after waiting 5 minutes, walked out.All around, while Dr. Hazelrigg was kind, I will no longer be a patient at this clinic.

I was there an entire week and my records were never sent.I ended up giving birth to my baby boy who stayed at the hospital for several weeks. During that time, I received a call from CWH asking me to come in and redo my glucose test. This is the first time Id heard back from them in weeks. They never called me back when I contacted their emergency line, they never sent the records to Banner Desert, they never called to check in on how the birth went, and now theyre calling to ask me to redo a glucose test that Id done almost a month ago??? When I told them I had already given birth they just said oh, okay and that was the end of the conversation. No acknowledgments or apologies.I vehemently do not recommend Dr. Hazelrigg or Comprehensive Womens Healthcare.

Ive been going here for years and every doctor, NP, and medical assistant Ive dealt with are amazing. However, the low score is b/c of the receptionist. I dont know how new she is, but the old one was great.I called in and said I might have an emergency (which I did end up going to the ER for) and she cut me off said she couldnt help me until I paid a $15 balance owed. She transferred me to billing, I had to try to calmly pay it as I was panicking, and got transferred back. I then was finally allowed to say what was going on, then she told me that I needed to go to the ER. Somehow paying that balance was more important than an emergency. On another occasion she rudely let me know on no uncertain terms she had 2 other calls waiting and that I needed to speak w/the doctors assistant (of which I didnt have the name of or their extension), like as in how dare I waste her time? Yikes.

I had been a patient here for 5 years, unfortunately my OB/GYN moved out of state so I had to start seeing another provider in the office. I scheduled my next appointment 3 months in advance with the new Dr., I was called about a month and a half before my appointment to reschedule since the provider was going to be gone. Totally fine, it happens.A day and a half before resecheduled appointment I got a call telling me I had to reschedule again because the Dr. had a surgery that day. I was pretty irritated since it was such short notice and I already took the time off work. Ana, the scheduling receptionist was less than helpful and had a bad attitude. She told me I could see any provider in office and I asked to see anyone else around that same time. She told me they hadnt had any cancellations around that time and I would have to pick a different day. Mind you, this was the SECOND time they called to reschedule me and on VERY short notice. Not one sincere word came from her mouth and never did she apologize for the inconvenience.Apparently she wasnt trained to see that the appointment I had was required to be done within a specific 2-week time frame which had already been pushed back. I had to compromise and split my appointment up into 2 different appointments so I could get my shot and then reschedule my exam for another time. The day of my appointment traffic was abnormally backed up and I called to say I was going to be about 15 min late AT THE MOST. Without even trying to work something out or check if they could still give me my shot (literally takes 5 min and a nurse does it, no DR. required), she instantly told me NO, they wouldnt see me. ANA is extremely rude. I expressed that I was frustrated seeing as traffic was not my fault and they already forced me to reschedule twice and I had to get my shot that day because of the time frame, I couldnt see why they couldnt somehow try and work with me instead of instantly shutting me down and telling me I wouldnt be seen. I asked to speak with a manager and Ana said, I am the manager, which then I requested to speak to HER supervisor seeing as everyone has one, she told me, my supervisor doesnt work on Friday. How convenient. She then asked, are you going to be here by 4 or not? I have never had such TERRIBLE customer service, she was SO rude. I was fed up and said I would be there when I got there and expected to get my shot, considering how I was treated and got off the phone. About 5 minutes later I got a call back stating she had checked with the provider and they could extend it to 4:15 to still see me.Im confused as to why she couldnt have just checked with said provider in the first place instead of arguing with me and being SO rude.I will never return to this office again due to Anas terrible customer service and lack of care and respect for their patients.

This place works with several doctors, so some of these reviews might be relative to them. I LOVE my doctor at this location, Sydney Churgen. Ive been coming back here for five years, I have literally never had a scheduling issue and they call to confirm a day or two in advance. My prescriptions have always been at the right place, at the right time, and both my doctor and her assistant has always been available, or contacted me within 24 hours of a voicemail. Sometimes we had enough correspondence to avoid extra costs and charges from unnecessary visits. My insurance has always been taken too(and Ive changed insurances like 4 times), so Im actually alarmed to see such bad reviews on this place. If your issue is with doctors, try switching. This place has like, 8 of them.Edit: my doctor is Churgin

I can’t say enough good things about Rosemary. She was literally the best doctor I’ve been to in my entire life. She has a great bedside manner, and I could tell she genuinely cared about my well being. She took the time to sit and talk with me to understand my medical history and current ailments. She educated me on what was happening, and was able to give me a diagnosis for symptoms I didn’t realize were all connected to the same condition. I spent years searching and in pain, and she finally brought that chapter to an end for me. I’m sad to say, I was not referred to her from any of the other doctors I went to, I found her by doing extensive research online. But, I’m glad I didn’t give up on my search. She’s one in a million.

However, the front person is totally rude.On my first visit I brushed it off to her having a bad day. Unfortunately, her attitude never swayed, if anything, it got worse, which is a shame, considering shes the first point of contact.I would suggest going to Dr. Kale because she and her staff are great. Just be warned the front desk person with long dark hair will be rude and to just ignore her, as the atmosphere will improve as you go back for your appointment.

Today, I had a 10:45 am appointment (just to get a Rx for oral contraceptives). I arrived on time, and was asked to update paperwork. An hour later of patiently waiting, I went up to the front desk and asked if I was going to be seen anytime soon. A minute later, I was called back and placed in a room. I was then told that the Dr. was already with another patient, and there was another patient also waiting ahead of me. So it could be another 30 minutes. Probably about 20 minutes or so later I was seen by the Dr. I left the appointment at 12:30. I was very frustrated. Why did I even make an appointment, if I was going to be seen an hour and a half after the appointment time? I am also in healthcare ( dental hygienist) and I understand that everyone runs behind on days. But I provide the courtesy of having the front office call my next patient to inform them I am running behind, and ask them to arrive 10-15 minutes later, to avoid having to sit and wait in the waiting room. Or I personally go out to the waiting room and explain what is going on. I have been a patient of Comprehensive Womens Healthcare for many years, and this is not the first time this has happened. I do not plan to return to this office, and I will not recommend this office to my family/ friends. I hope to find an office that will respect my time, and honor my actual reserved appointment time.

I was recommended to Comprehensive Women’s Health by a patient where I work. When I made the appointment, I was told the nurse practitioner will be the person who sees new patients. That was fine with me, but for some reason I thought that eventually I would get to see a doctor. So six months later, I have yet to see a doctor but when I look at my insurance paper work it always reflect I saw a doctor. The first time I had an unpleasant experience was during the women’s wellness exam. I had to sign a document stating that if anything other than the exam is discussed or discovered, I would have to pay my co-pay of $35. However they should really consider having the nurse practitioner and doctors sign the same form. I went through the wellness exam and towards the end, the nurse practitioners asked me a question regarding a condition we had already discuss in previous weeks. So I answered her questions, not thinking anything about it, and when I check out, I am hit with a $35 co-pay. I was so angry because I did not initiate any conversation with the nurse practitioner, she did. When I explained that to the staff I was told I had signed the form and that if the doctor discovers something during the wellness exam, there would be a co-pay. I let the staff know that the conversation was initiated by the nurse practitioner and that it was not a new discovery since we had discussed the condition in previous appointments. To say the least I had to pay the $35 co-pay because the rules are for the patients and do not apply to the nurse practitioners or doctors! The last straw was when I was scheduled for a second internal ultrasound. The first one had been back in February and the ultrasound and follow up with the nurse practitioner happened the same day. When they scheduled the second one, the staff member said they could not be scheduled the same day because the insurance company would not cover it. I let her know I would not be paying $35 dollar 2xs and I was told it would only be one co-pay, that there was no co-pay for the ultrasound. So I scheduled the appointment and had the ultrasound but had to cancel the appointment due to schedule conflicts. Well two months later I get a bill for the ultrasound co-pay! I called them but the office was no help. I called my insurance and they said that they would pay for same day appointments, meaning I could have had the ultrasound and follow up the same day. I called the office back and they said that it was an office policy, because some insurance policies allow and other do not. So I am forced to go by a blanket policy because the staff is incompetent! I do not think so! Blanket policies do not belong in a doctor’s office! I paid the fee and filled out the medical release form to have my records send to a new doctor.I do not recommend Comprehensive Women’s Health, Gilbert AZ office, to anyone.

Dr Hazelrigg is the only reason I am giving 3 stars because he is a great and I had a great birthing experience with my second daughter. This is my third pregnancy and second time using comprehensive womens healthcare, and twice now my appointments have either been rescheduled due to the ultrasound tech calling off (which I understand happens) and then them just not scheduling my appointment. And whoever does over the phone scheduling has put blame on me both times. I was told my appointment was never scheduled and I was just distracted when I left and didnt schedule it even though I have it written down on an appointment card from their office. I had scheduled this appointment over 2 weeks ago as well. When rescheduling my ultrasound appointment I needed to reschedule both appointments I had for that day if they were going to reschedule the ultrasound (I have 2 kids who I have to bring with me and its inconvenient for me to have to break up appointments) and when I informed the lady over the phone about this she gave me attitude and told me she couldnt do anything about the tech calling off and if I wanted to keep my appointments together it would be weeks before i could be seen and it wasnt a good idea for me to wait. If I didnt have a good doctor I would have found elsewhere for my care, the customer service is lacking here.

I had to wait months for a first appointment, then received a letter in the mail (a phone call would have been nice)saying I would have to reschedule. I called and had to wait a few more weeks. Once I got there they asked if I had printed the paperwork out and filled it out, but I had not been asked to do that. My response was met with loud sighs and eye rolls. When I went back to see the physicians assistant, Rosemary, she was ready to write a prescription after a very brief conversation. When I asked for reasons for my symptoms and possible tests that could be done she got very annoyed with me and said googling symptoms does not make me a physician. I left without doing the tests, and in tears. I have never been treated so rudely.

I was expecting rude people, treating me like a number and a dirty place. Only thing that stopped me is my general nurse practitoner is wonderful and I trust, and this is what she referred me to for my issues. Come to find out the place was none of these to me.People are business friendly; get signed in, sign up, pay, in a room, exams and scheduling done in an hour. This efficiency and business like manner does not bother me in the least. No dirt or construction around the lobby either.Even better, for a decade no one could tell me what was wrong with me when it came to my period and the serious issues that it started to escalate to in the past year. The nurse practitioner, Patricia Washkowiak, listen, ran exam and told me what she thought it might be, scheduled me for the next day exam to confirm it was indeed what she thought. She called me as soon as she got the results.5 months later I am the happiest with my body than I have been in the past two decades. I am glad I came to this location.

Well she went ahead and did it anyways and then it resulted in a traumatic 3rd degree tear that took about 6 months to fully recover from. To my knowledge my baby was not in danger, nothing was ever said about his heartrate dropping or anything along those lines, seems to me she just wanted that baby out so she could be on her way.
