1 year agoThe lady over the Doulas is not considered or compassionate, I was left with no support.I had a disagreement with my doula like I do with my own sister so no love loss.My doula stopped being my doula and during the hardest time for my life no support with my new baby and two other kids.As a Black women I have alot on my plate Uzazi is lacking because even the therapist I was seeing for stress left me high and dry, smdh. This is why I have trust issues smdh.4yrs agoIt a great place for mothers and moms to beThey have support and resources
I just love the artwork in the building, seeing people who look just like me and my babies. Makes me feel more comfortable. The woman gave me resources and treated me like family. I wasn’t scared to say what all I needed help with because they DO NOT JUDGE YOU HERE!
Im giving this place 3 stars. Although their mission to help black mothers is great, it is extremely hard to get anyone on the phone. I have attempted to get a doula and consult with a lactation nurse. My requests have been ignored or have been prolonged. If youre needing immediate help or help in a short period of time this is not place.
It’s awesome that Uzazi Village exist! I was worried about having clothes for my son because he grows out of his clothes so fast so I was done spending money on clothes that he will only wears once or twice. Staff members were so kind, the place looked super clean and great, and they offered so much. It was definitely overwhelming but I was so happy that I could fill my bag and leave with free stuff for my babies. Thank you again for EVERYTHING that you do!
I am currently taking a Doula training class there and the trainers are awesome. The location is in the City off 43rd and Troost very convenient off the bus line.
I met Mrs. Hakima, and it was a beautiful experience. Thank You for the work You are doing. This place has the best Spirit. It was so calm, peaceful, serene and warm. Plus, it is a great location, for an intimate event!!!
I have nothing negative to say. All of my needs were met, I learned so much and felt very supported and prepared for parenthood. (shoutout to Delia and Darcie especially) 10/10 would recommend
I truly Love them, and what they are about. They help those truly in need and offer great suggestions if they cant do it their, I had a wonderful learning experience with some of their Breast feeding info, I had a great experience with My DulaSister who helped me out trumendously thru my pregnancy and delivery.
Mariah, Sherri, and Justice are awesome. I love what this group is all about. They are the voice of so many underrepresented. They are making major changes in the inner city. I cant wait to see what the future holds for their organization.
