I found CIGC and Dr. MacKoul after two different OBGYNs told me that they would likely need to move to open surgery if they tried to remove my very large fibroid laparoscopically. Dr. MacKoul assured me that his procedure would be effective without needing open surgery. All my encounters with CIGC from the staff who coordinated my consultation, to the physicians assistant I called post-op with a question, were fantastic. Very professional and responsive from start to finish. I had the surgery at the NJ center in Secaucus. I was up and walking that day, and recovery went as I was told to expect. Im just over 2 weeks after surgery at this point and feel amazing. I am a runner and have already been able to exercise again and hope to be back to my run training very soon. I cant recommend Dr. MacKoul and CIGC enough.
I recommended this facility to my sister because of the experience I had with them. She just shared with me what they did:1. Whoever Brandy is ( a consultant?) was absolutely rude to her and hung up the phone on her2. The clerk Shanelle refused to tell us who the CEO was to file a complaint.3. Brandy told her that show WOULD NOT even setup a consultation for my sister.this is NOT what I wanted for my sister. I am withdrawing my 5 star review from this history. get better consultants and put a complaint process in place
Very very unprofessional. My procedure was delayed by almost 3 hours which was fine. I was told that I would be monitored for 4-5 hours after surgery, I was monitored for a little over an hour. My surgery started after 3pm and I was discharged by 5:47pm. I did not have to pee or pass gas after surgery, they told me just go to the er if I dont pee by a certain time. I felt rushed out, didnt have enough time to sleep of the anesthesia either, they had me up and walking an hr after surgery. The doctor also never spoke to my spouse after the surgery like he did with other patients families. Im assuming because I was the last patient I was just being rushed out. The surgery was done laproscopically but it is still major surgery, they gave me 3 weeks to recover and I thought it would be fine but everyone is different and heals differently and I am recovering slower. I walk a lot but getting in and out the car and moving around is still very uncomfortable. I have 2 young children and so I requested more time off from the fmla for my spouse to help me recover and help with the kids and of course it was shut down. My gyn even recommended 8 weeks more off but the surgeon does not want to give me. I also did not receive good pain management and called the surgeon about it and his advice was to go to the hospital (who wants to go to a hospital during a pandemic after surgery?!). Very disappointed in this whole situation.
I had multiple fibroids for over 2 years and knew the solution for me was a hysterectomy. My regular GYN advised me the recover time would be 6-8 weeks. I knew that wouldnt work for me. Thank God I found Dr. Mackoul and the center for Innovative GYN. I just had my procedure 03-10 and took pain medication the first night and was out and about on day 3! I go back to work tomorrow day 7 but honestly I could have went back on day 3. I feel great and have lost over 10 pounds. Thanks Dr. Mackoul! All the staff is amazing and super nice!
For years I knew I needed surgery but I was terrified. If I would have understood how wonderful this facility was and how safe I would feel, I would have had surgery several years before. The entire process was easy and positive! Dr. MacKoul was incredible was so was his staff ... from billing to the pre op nurse, anesthesiologists, and the post op nurse! They went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of! Three nurses even checked on me and called several times the week of surgery! The facility was advanced and super clean! I would recommend to anyone! Thank you CIGC!!
