The women at the desk were friendly and kind, Dr. Blaton was an angel who made me feel heard and well cared for, and Michelle who drew my blood made it the easiest process of getting blood drawn Ive ever had—literally took 30 seconds. A wonderful experience all around.
I have been Dr. Irene Fisher’s patient for some time now. She has recently joined, Maiden Lane Medical Downtown Gynecology, and I can confidently say that she is an exceptional doctor. Her knowledge, expertise, and professionalism are truly commendable.I am particularly impressed her ability to make me feel comfortable during each visit. She takes the time to listen to my concerns and provides guidance. Her compassionate and caring nature creates a safe and supportive environment, which is crucial for any patient, especially in the field of gynecology.Additionally, the convenience of the office location in downtown Manhattan is a plus coming from Brooklyn. It makes scheduling appointments and accessing the practice hassle-free. The facilities are well-maintained, and the staff members are friendly and efficient, further enhancing the overall experience.
I was referred to Dr. Blanton. My primary doctor was not able to perform surgery because my fibroids were big, and their location was risky. My primary GYM Did not want to take any risk. Dr Blanton took the time to explain the procedure to me, including all the other portions and dangers. On September 9th, she performed a complete laparoscopic hysterectomy with no complications. The surgery went well, and I’m doing fine. Dr. Blanton is an excellent doctor who empathizes with her patients. She took the time to provide me with every detail and made me feel safe. I definitely will keep her as my primary GYN. The staff at the clinic will also make you feel welcome,RL
Dr. Blanton is wonderful and has my highest recommendation. After having a terrible experience with another physician at another medical office almost a decade ago, I (irresponsibly) avoided returning for an annual exam for many years. A friend encouraged me to schedule an appointment with Dr. Blanton, and the experience could not have been better. She was compassionate and understanding, and she made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. The office staff was friendly and efficient and all my test results were returned to me within a matter of days. I cannot recommend her enough.
Dr. Davison is single handedly the most attentive, caring, and thorough doctor I have ever gone to. I have had some pretty bad experiences in the past with doctors dismissing my pain, but Dr. Davidson took everything I said seriously, asked a ton of questions, explained everything to me, and came up with an action plan. Could not recommend her enough.
I have been going to Maiden Lane Medical for years. The billing department has caused me a few headaches over the years; however, they have been receptive to work with me and things have worked out to my satisfaction. However, I am appalled by their recent behavior with scheduling for my yearly PCP appointment.I am beyond disappointed with the incompetence and unprofessionalism of this medical practice. I had an annual physical scheduled for **tomorrow**, something I had been waiting weeks for and scheduled literally two months in advance so I would have my preferred time, only to receive a call at the last minute informing me that they were canceling my appointment. Why? Because the person who scheduled it didn’t block out enough time for the doctor. How is this even acceptable? Isn’t it the job of the office staff to ensure appointments are scheduled correctly? I arranged my entire day around this appointment, and instead I’m told the next available appointment is in two weeks. Of course it is. That’s why I originally called two months in advance to schedule. So now your scheduling problem becomes my problem? If you’ve made the error, fix it.This is healthcare, not some casual meeting you can just cancel last-minute. I expected a lot more professionalism and care from a medical practice, but apparently, even basic scheduling is too much for them. Save yourself the frustration and find a practice that is competent and respects your time.
Dr Blanton was kind, caring and extremely competent. She took the time to go over every step of what we were doing and answered all my questions. She made the entire experience much better. Best OBGYN Ive ever been to by far.
I have been using Dr. Fischer for many years & have to say she is the best. She is very thoughtful, kind & listens to what you have to say. The staff at MLM was very professional & extremely nice.
I cant say enough good things about Dr. Blanton. She is incredibly skilled, knowledgable, and comprehensive, and perhaps more importantly has the best bedside manner of any gyno I’ve ever seen (including some really good ones). I feel totally at ease in her care. She truly listens, takes her time with you, and is very thorough and supportive in understanding your situation and making sure you feel comfortable with your care. I really can’t recommend her highly enough.
I had the absolute worst, horrible experience with Maiden Lane from the minute i walked into the office to every single simple prescription refill. The male doctor rushes you out so he can get his copay on a birth control pill prescription. Thats fine - thats what i visited this place for. The problem is afterwards. Every single time I try to get a refill they made the process hell. They would never approve the pharmacys request because their doctor needed to approve it so they would send a message to the doctor, which the doctors apparently never look at. The incompetence and red tape of the front desk is so astonishing that they would make patients wait for hours at the pharmacy and pray that the doctor feels like reading his messages, instead of just going into the next room and asking him to approve it. Also they had multiple prescriptions out, which makes me suspect some shady practices regarding billing. Do not go this place if you want to receive proper care and not waste time and money.
I had the pleasure of speaking to Dr. Eana on the phone as it was a televisit appointment. And although I have never been to the office, I was dealt with very professionally, with phone calls, emails, follow up emails, texts, etc. Dr. Eana took her time with me and made me feel heard, I didn’t feel rushed or stupid about asking any questions I didn’t have knowledge of. Dr. Eana explained everything thoroughly. Just in one phone call I can say I left the appointment and meeting very satisfied. I highly recommend for anyone who’s had any terrible experience with OB/GYNs in the past like I have. Oh and might I add, I did not have to wait at all for the televisit to begin right on time.
Dr Fischer has been my Dr for many years. She is great. My first time at this office - it was very clean and everyone that worked there very friendly.
Dr Blanton is hands down the best doctor I’ve ever had! She is kind, clear, and addresses any concerns. The office itself is timely and I’m always seen within 15 mins.
Not sure why I’m STILL getting brand new bills in the mail for a procedure I did 7 months ago. The billing here is a mess, and they make it hard for you to understand why you’re getting charged for things, and why there’s a new bill for a different thing sent every month. It’s like playing bill whack-a-mole here. They told me my balance is now 0, and yet I still got a brand new bill dated this month in the mail. This is such a nightmare.
I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always been a very positive experience. Staff and doctors are friendly and professional, especially Samantha and Dr Eana. Thank you for making me comfortable and less nervous during my procedure. Highly recommend:)
Short version: This practice did not provide timely medical care. I waited more than two months for gynecologist Dr. Blanton to get me a Nexplanon contraceptive implant before I gave up. Various employees of Maiden Lane Medical repeatedly told me to expect updates that didn’t come, wasting time that I could have spent getting care elsewhere; seemingly ignored a fax from my insurance provider with necessary explanatory info; wrongly claimed that my insurance didn’t cover a specific contraceptive (see: the fax with instructions); told me a Nexplanon was on its way when it wasn’t; and finally sent my prescription to a pharmacy (of their choosing) that did not even carry Nexplanon. In the exam room the one time I saw her, Dr. Blanton was really great, but unfortunately the administrative issues were far too stressful and onerous for me to keep coming here. MLM lost all of my trust.2/26: office visit, consult for new Nexplanon (old expires 3/11).3/8: insurance provider calls, says my pharmacy coverage won’t cover Nexplanon but medical coverage will; caller said they sent fax w/ this info to MLM that day, no action needed from me.3/19: no updates. I send MLM in-app msg, mentioning the pharmacy vs. medical info from the fax, ask about status.3/20: Dr. B responds in app: “I will have my office manager look into this and give you an update later this week.” No further updates that week.3/27: MLM office mgr calls me, says my insurance won’t cover Nexplanon. I call ins., they confirm Nexplanon is fully covered it when coded as medical rather than pharmacy (as in the 3/8 fax & my 3/19 app msg). I call back MLM, explain this. MLM says expect a follow-up call on Mon. 4/1.4/1: no update.4/3: I call MLM; office mgr says application was submitted to ins. on 3/28, they expect to hear back in 5-7 business days.4/10: I call MLM; receptionist confirms that office mgr has not heard back, when office mgr has time she will call ins. for update. I send in-app msg asking for clarification on what is happening.4/11: Dr. B responds in app saying she sent the Rx on 2/26, “these things take a while.”4/12: MLM office mgr calls, says a Nexplanon has been ordered; “a week or maybe less” until it arrives.4/22: I call MLM; recept. says no info in my chart, she’ll pass along my question about where the Nexplanon is to the office mgr.4/25: I send in-app msg asking for updated arrival time or tracking #.4/26: Dr. B in app says she’s get an answer. Hours later, text & in-app msg saying Rx has been sent to pharm, call this # for details. I call. Rep says that pharm does not carry Nexplanon. I send in-app msg & call MLM. Call drops as I’m confirming my contact info. I call back, recept. says “systems are down,” to call back later. I call other gynos instead, get an appt in 3 days.4/27: I send in-app msg letting MLM know I’m seeing new dr, ask for an explanation of what happened.4/29: Dr. B replies in app: “The prescription was sent the day we met. However since your insurance was not in network with the pharmacy that typically dispenses the device the presciption had to be sent to another one. We tried 3 or 4 different pharmacies with the same result. There is no way for us to know ahead of time what pharmacy is in network with your insurance until the prescription is sent and they communicate back to us.”If main hold-up was finding an in-network pharm, why wasn’t this communicated during one of the prior 7 times I talked to MLM? I could have talked with my insurance if I’d known at the beginning. Literally as I was on the way to the appt w/ new dr, my pharm benefits provider called me. Told me exactly which pharmacy to use (CVS Caremark), and that if there was any flagging of it being out of network, this pharmacy can put in an override to get it covered, since it’s a primary distributer of Nexplanon. The call took two minutes.EDIT to respond to MLM: No change in insurance during this time; that is a straight-up lie. No missed calls from MLM not accounted for here.
Dr. Levey is a brilliant surgeon! I had excision surgery for endometriosis with him in December of 2023. I had been living with severe, chronic pain for many years and barely functioning. It’s only been a few weeks since my surgery and I already feel better than I have in decades. He has always been kind, supportive and understanding during my appointments. He never rushed me and always left my treatments options up to me , while giving his opinion, but without any pressure. He’s down to earth, doesn’t sugar coat anything and has a great sense of humor. I could tell that he truly wanted to help me. I cannot thank him enough. How exactly do you thank someone for giving you a second chance at life without pain? To Dr. Levey and all of his staff: Thank you for everything you did for me! I will be eternally grateful.
Staff is Friendly and Very Efficient...Dr. Kaufman is a patient, understanding, experienced and very knowledgeable doctor who in addition has a great sense of humor. Highly recommended.
Maiden Lane Medical is amazing. Loved Dr. Fleary’s bedside manner and her full explanation of everything. Will fully recommended
Dr. Blanton was extremely patient with me and made me feel very comfortable. She provided thorough explanations and didn’t rush. I was really nervous and have a lot of medical anxiety, but I had a really positive experience and was really happy with how this appointment went!
I love this office & Dr Armina Eana was fantastic! My previous provider had left the practice, so I mean Dr Eana for the first time yesterday. At our first appointment, she came in having already reviewed my chart so I didn’t have to reexplain my family history of breast cancer. It’s a small detail, but had a huge impact on me feeling known/comfortable in the appointment. She was so friendly and communicative. I’d give her 10 stars if I could!
Amazing experience! I needed a next day appointment and they were available. I ended up seeing Dr. Fernando Mariz, I normally see female gyn, but he made me feel comfortable and at ease. He was straight to the point and explained everything thoroughly. The clinic runs smoothly, I was in and out in 30 min. Their patient portal is easy to use. Unlike many other medical offices, their front desk staff are very nice! I will continue using this office, highly recommend.
Ariana Ward makes our session very informative. She is extremely friendly and you feel very relaxed never rushed.
Dr Blanton is kind, professional, caring, empathetic and patient. The front desk staff is efficient and friendly. If you have medical anxiety and want to make sure you are being listened to and cared for, go with Dr Blanton. I couldnt recommend her enough.
I was recommended to see Dr Emily Blanton by a friend. I wanted to see her to get a second opinion based off the results from my regular OBGYN. She was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, warm, and helpful. She went through my medical results and took the time to explain the results in a comprehensive way. I can’t recommend Dr Blanton enough!! I wish there were more doctors out there like her!!
Christine in preop and post op was fantastic ! She was so kind and caring ! She made sure I got my glasses right away (cause Im blind ) she covered me with warm blanket and didnt rush me out the doctors were also great and the anesthesiologist! But Christine 5 stars all the way
My doctor was friendly, but the whole place seems so busy, esp. the front desk staff. its stressful!
David Kaufman has been my urologist for more than 20 years. He is an experienced physician with impressive credentials and more importantly a dedicated, personable and concerned advocate. He is a lovely man and his knowledge of urological problems affecting both men and women is remarkable. I cannot recommend him strongly enough.
I had a wonderful experience replacing my IUD under anesthesia here. The nurse Gina was so kind and helpful and Dr Mariz is the best. The anesthesiologist made sure I was comfortable and walked me through everything. Overall great experience!
I had a terrible experience today.I was not treated with respect or care I felt I deserved. As a OBGYN patient, there’s additional sensitivity and vulnerability that comes with the nature of the exams, and the facility did not tend to it.The facility was understaffed, and run down. It almost felt abandoned with all the empty rooms. The remaining staff running the facility seem very inexperienced. They didn’t give clear directions, appeared self-important, laughing and gossiping while I figure out next steps.Communication is unclear and at the core of my very unpleasant visit, I was left unattended for over 30 minute while undressed, feeling exposed and uncomfortable with no one checking in on me.Additionally:- There’s no curtain in the area where you strip down and wait. Anyone can open the door and see you. As a result I felt anxious and nervous for an extended period of time.- The gown is very uncomfortable and there’s no way of holding it together to cover myself while in any relaxed position. I felt mortified having to be dressed in that for as long as I did. After the appointment, I passed the doctors note to the front desk to book for follow ups.- First they sent me to a different facility only to be rejected because they actually booked me for a different time.- Second the facility rung to share with me that the appointment was booked incorrectly and the doctors note was not followed correctly.I wasted half a day of work because of this facility and I believe I have the ground to take legal measures.People sometimes take it to Google reviews to rant after a bad day, however in my case, multiple fundamental rights as a patient was violated, and basic requirements for a functioning facility were not met. This facility deserves every bit of the 1 star. Its worth noting the doctor was nice and professional, and deserves a positive rating, and I will leave positive review on Zocdoc for the individual instead. Though I dont know how long someone good would stay around at a facility with such terrible support.
Maiden Lane medical is a great office clean with an amazing, knowledgeable staff. There is little to no wait time.Dr Emily Blanton is such a great doctor she explains everything thoroughly and is very kind.
Tori and Samantha at the front desk are helpful and so kind. Physical Therapist Page Baker, DPT is outstanding and I left my first session with her having learned so much about my body. Excellent office.
I’ve been visiting Dr. Blanton for years and highly recommend her! She is kind, straightforward, and thorough. I’ve recommended her to numerous friends. Additionally, the front desk staff is always welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend.
I dont recommend this practice to anyone. The tech that does ultrasound is brutal. It doesnt take very long to look. She kept churning and turning and I am still feeling the pain of my uterus. Extremely inexperience. You feel a sense of violation afterwards. The place doesnt have good bedside manners and the folks are simply rude. There are so many reviews on billing which are correct. Do not give out your credit card.----------------Update - why would I want to give this office another try when the tech team lead me to bleed heavily after my visit. How is that gentle, kind, and understanding. OR do you do this to certain patients that are non-white.
Do not go here! If your looking for bare minimum service, if your looking for a GYN who doesn’t wanna hear you or take the time to evaluate you! Then you’re at the right doctor. Since December of 2023 I had frequent urination, pain in my left side and uncontrollable frequent urination, after my doctor stated to me that it is not a UTI, he referred me to a urologist. Urologist told me to go to a GYN because you no longer have a UTI. Please keep in mind that I have been in pain $ AGONY, no sleep and constantly urinating. Especially at night. Fast forward to the first week of February, I go to this ObGyn for a anual and I explain to her my FREAKING symptoms. She dismissed my concerns and stated that we can do the ANNUAL but she couldn’t help me with my painful urination or all the pain that I was going through. Now on February 2nd 2024 this year!!! I am RUSHED in an ambulance to the HOSPITAL! LONG STORY SHORT I HAD A HUGE OVARIAN CYST that ruptured!!! All my symptoms were connected to a OVARIAN CYST. My internist and my urologist were right it was GYNECOLOGIST related!!!! Please if you care about your Vaginal health DO NOT go to this place!!!!
I’ve been a patient for years and I’ve always been listened to and given good advice and resources.
I cannot overstate how irritated I am with this practice.I had an appointment scheduled for 4:20pm on a Friday as a new patient. Luckily I registered and checked my inbox on their online system before my appointment. They had messaged me saying that my initial appointment was cancelled and was rescheduled to 3pm at their SoHo office. I was not available at 3pm and I did not consent to my appointment time and place being changed.I called and cancelled any appointment I had altogether that afternoon. They then charged me for $75 on my credit card even though they were the ones who had to cancel the appointment. Who reschedules new patients for appointments hours earlier without confirming with them? I filed a dispute with my bank and will not be scheduling any sort of appointments with this practice.EDIT: After 4 days of calling, emailing and waiting, they have refunded me of the $75 no show fee. Thank you.
Clean location, pleasant staff, helpful, responsive, kind providers who listen. A great experience!
I visited maiden lane for the first time on July 1st 2022. I gave exact date because as a review reader. I’d rather read current reviews. To sum it up I switched my gynecologist to Dr Fleary that very same day after my visit. She’s very pleasant, understanding, and empathetic. She made me feel really comfortable. She’s very knowledgeable in her field of work. The PCT was very nice as well. I told her I passed out once whilst drawing blood. She had me lay down for the procedure. She was super gentle!! She have locks hairstyle. Overall friendly and pleasant staff. I must commend that everyone I interacted with was black and they made me so proud with their level of professionalism.
Called me to reschedule after I booked online. Then cancelled my appointment while I was standing in the lobby because they couldn’t get their email working and they said the doctor was ready to go home for the weekend. They asked me to reschedule but I’m not going to come all the way across town twice for someone who can’t make time for me. There are easier places to get an appointment.
I really liked the staff here. Everyone was very helpful. Dr. Janette Davison was amazing! She was very patient, kind and had an excellent bedside manner. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Rachael Barr is a great doctor. She listens and takes as much time as you need to understand and explain my pelvic pain. Dr. Emily Blanton joined her for my procedure and were both so wonderful to me. I always receive a very thorough examination. No wait time...very organized and extremely hospitable office staff. I highly recommend Maiden Lane Medical!
Ive been with Dr. Aruyunan for several years (shes great) but Ive had enough of this practice. As youll see in reviews below, they have shading billing practices. I spent months dealing with an out-of-network anesthesiologist bill for $1,500, after Maiden Lane had already billed my insurance company for the cost. The practice often running late - I once waited over 3 hours for a scheduled surgical procedure. My last visit there, there was blood on the floor from the last patient that had not been cleaned. Its a shame because I do believe Dr. A is a great doctor but the moment my new insurance kicks in, Im out of here. Truly do not go to this practice if it can be avoided.
Worst attention ever. DO AVOID!! The doctor decided not to show up and they didnt call me before. Still waiting for full blood test results after 2 months.I am adding an update to my review after seeing the response of this Medical centre: It is a FULL LIE that the doctor was not present due to an emergency on labor and delivery. Do not put the blame on the adminsitrative staff. Actually, when I was at the counter the doctor called from the train station near her house and saying she would not arrive on time.
Received a surprise bill because they billed me under the wrong name and doctor. Had to call back and forth between them and the insurance company. I wasted a lot of time dealing with this place. The billing amount is still incorrect now and I’m trying to figure out how to get it right. Go find yourself some other practice and thank me later.
Dr. Davison is an amazing doctor and I am grateful that I found her. She performed my surgery and I knew that I was in good hands. She is kind, thoughtful and takes your concerns seriously. Ive never had a more responsive doctor.
The best as always. The whole team is so professional and caring. Dr. Emily Blanton is one of the most empathetic knowledgeable genius doctors that this world has. I’m very lucky to be her patient.
I’ve been a patient of Maiden Lane for many years and it’s the high quality care that keeps me coming to this practice. The care team and the doctors genuinely care about the welfare of their patients and have gone above and beyond to accommodate me many times. The office manager Shanae is kind and caring, and goes out of her way to get you what you need. I see Dr Davison who never makes me feel rushed, spends ample time listening and explains her guidance in plain language. A great practice that I will continue coming back to.
Dr. Hobbs is the best doctor I have ever met. She is so caring and so compassionate. She has been my doctor for the past two years. Without her I would not be pain free. I knew from the moment I met her I would get better. Whenever I am anxious I send a message and within hours I am reassured. I have never met anyone like her. The staff is wonderful as well. They are kind and professional. I love the office. I travel from Staten Island to see her ... Truth is if she moved to another country I would go there too. Great place. Try it you will not be disappointed!!!
I wish I could give a zero star. I had such a bad experience here, specifically with appointment staff and nurses.1. The patient care team cancelled my appointment even less then 24 hours, saying they have no vaccine available anywhere. Its funny because they always notify us about cancellation fee but they can simply cancel the appointment last minute without even asking me.2. I rescheduled it and came in today but the first thing I was told was to go pick up my vaccine from CVS. I dont understand why they couldnt ask me to do so before my appointment. I waited in line at the pharmacy for over 30mins, which is waste of time, then I had to go back to the clinic again. The whole point of rescheduling my appointment was because of vaccine availability. Then why am I picking it up myself? And why did the first appointment have to be cancelled?3. I came back in and asked staff why its managed this way but not a single person gave me a reasonable explanation. Excuses after excuses without saying sorry4. Apparently, I could have gotten my vaccine at CVS without having to go back to this clinic. They knew about it but still asked me to come, otherwise they will charge me cancellation fee. Its obvious that they just want copay, not caring about their patients.I am not returning to this place ever again. Its waste of my time and money.
The office was clean, the visits are on timely, you are in and out. Its such a vast experience from what Ive endured before from another facility. The Drs are nice, they answered all of my questions. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend or a loved one.
Dr. Bakal is a very knowledgeable doctor who truly listens to you and helps to get you better. He is highly experienced and knows exactly what needs to be done in order for proper treatment to occur.
The staff here is GREAT. Dr. Davison is the best. They are kind and efficient. They explain everything that is being done, will be done and to be expected at every visit. The follow up is awesome. I love a place where I can go and feel comfortable talking about everything female organ related. I will keep coming back forever.
I dont usually write reviews but this place is the absolute worst. They wanted to charge me $75 twice. I had called that day telling them I cant go because my grandfather has cancer and was in a very bad condition that day and they told me no problem, we understand. I then made another appointment, arrived and it took about five minutes. I felt rushed, shamed and I was telling him personal stuff I thought sounded awkward to say and he just made it weirder by smiling and repeating what I was saying. I felt uncomfortable the entire time. its crazy because they now wanna charge me $75 twice. One, for not being able to go because my grandfather was dying and two, for arriving on time and being in his office for 5 minutes. He told me nothing was wrong when I felt something was wrong. Although its good news, I just felt like he did a poor job of explaining everything. Dont go to this office at all!
AWFUL PRACTICE! They absolutely have no idea what they are doing in this practice and their billing department. As general practice like any medical establishment they have to review your insurance for your coverage and benefits. Whether you are in network or out of network you would be made aware of it. Only reason I went was because on my end I thought I was in network and it turned out I wasn’t. Was I made aware of the situation when I first walked into the facility? No. Any practice that sees the patient is out of network makes the patient aware from the get-go. In this time of age who is going to pay for medical services out of pocket? Absolutely no one if they have insurance. Because of the incompetence of this facility and billing department I have a LARGE bill to pay and they refuse to accept any responsibility. Ive attempted to pay in parts I can’t, when we came to an agreement for a pay, “oh sorry our credit card machine is not working”. They clearly only wanted cash and they wanted it now. This mediocre of a facility needs to step up and take an ounce of responsibility for their incompetence. Oh yes and thank you for sending me to collections, you have a whole thing coming for you.
Maiden Lane is in two words a BAD EXPERIENCE. I went to Maiden Lane in May 2021 and I am still not over my experience, so I wanted to write a review to warn others. When I went for my annual OBGYN appt I felt incredibly rushed. Rushed to answer their questions and rushed with my questions I wanted to ask. It was a horrible feeling and one I havent felt before. Additionally I was met with attitude and frustration when I asked questions. When asking about an issue I was having I was told to make another appointment... As if they didnt have time to deal with my issue in the moment. When I made the Telehealth appointment it was only 10-15 minus. I dont understand why the doctor could not help me with this during the first appointment so I didnt have to pay TWO copays. Also the doctor told me she would send me more information and materials when I asked. She never sent them... after I had booked another appointment and paid more money for more advice.Overall the doctor clearly did not care or take care of me as a patient. I felt used for my money and not cared for properly. Finally, I called Maiden Lane two times to speak with management on my experience shortly after. They told me both times someone would call me back and they never did. This was also incredibly disappointing and another example of them not caring for their patients.I will not go here again with this treatment. To make it even worse, I posted a Yelp review months ago and asked to be contacted and no one reached out. Kenneth has a lot of 1 star reviews to answer on Yelp but he blatantly ignored me. Should have expected that I suppose…
TERRIBLE. I waited for over an hour for my virtual visit with Dr. Jones only to be told by the call center after calling THREE times that the doctor is unavailable and we have to reschedule. My appointment was 3:40 and I was not told that until 4:50 TEN MINUTES BEFORE THEY CLOSED. Not one person from the office communicated to me BEFOREHAND that the doctor is running behind or I can’t be seen today. After the third and final call is when I finally got an answer as to why I was waiting for that long. I will never book with this office again. Extremely unprofessional and don’t care about their patients.
I felt very comfortable taking to Dr Rachel Barr. She was very knowledgeable and went over my options. the exam was great too, minimum discomfort. The office staff was efficient and the medical staff friendly. There was a little bit of a wait in the exam room, but nothing horrible.
The most unprofessional, incompetent office I have ever encountered and I am writing this post to save people from being subjected to the repercussions! Dr. Shannon Hudson is a wonderful, compassionate doctor but unfortunately due to my terrible experience will need to find a new gynecologist. After two weeks of calling daily for my prescription to be phoned in, I finally had to contact my internist to get the job done. Day after day I was promised it would be taken care of and that I could expect a phone call but to no avail. This is unacceptable as well as a detriment to my treatment and health! Please dont waste your time!
Absolutely the worst experience Ive had at a gynecologists office. I was stalked for months to get a procedure at their office. I finally relented and came in although I didnt believe it was necessary based on my medical history. The room in which the surgical procedure was done was FILTHY. Sticky substances on the floor, crusted matter on the bed. I felt so uncomfortable. I should have walked out right there. I sent photos to the office administrator and they said they would be taking action on it as its clearly not a sterile environment to conduct medical procedures.Five months later, I get a surprise bill for $1,555 for lab services because they sent my specimen to an out-of-network lab. Im having my healthcare broker deal with this but its an illegal surprise bill under the NY law.Needles to say, never coming back here.
MaidenLane - The worth experience ever, very unprofessional personnel from the entrance, rude receptionists who are not able to answer even basic questions. The doctor itself was not answering emails for 3 days a few times and was not able to transfer any information to another clinic, even if I pointed that it is time-sensitive. But all that is nothing in comparison with the billing process, for weeks I was trying to determine if the surgery I was prescribed is covered by my insurance and what the price for that. I was assured that it is 100% covered. In the end, I received bills from 4 different providers where I am responsible for the full payment. The billing department was playing soccer and sending myself and my insurance provider back and forth when we were trying to find out solutions and answers to what happened. I would strongly suggest avoiding care providers who dont care and do fraud all the way.
I received reminders before my annual appointment, as well as a call to see if I could come earlier than my scheduled time, and a very polite response (with agreement to the original time) when I said that I could not come earlier. All of that was great, and the check-in process was super quick and easy as well. I had no wait to be seen, and I was treated great by everyone, from the front desk staff person to the person who prepped me for the medical visit, to the gynecologist herself. Dr. Flores was terrific, answered my questions, and did not seem in a rush as many providers do. The office handled my prescription refill and mammogram order efficiently, so I got absolutely everything I needed in no time, in a pleasant and cheerful office environment. Im very glad to have found this practice that takes my insurance, since my former GYN of many years dropped it. I would absolutely recommend this group to others.
I am very disheartened by my experience. I made an appointment to see a doctor here in early December, but about two days before my appointment, I tested positive for COVID. Naturally, as soon as I got the positive result, I called Maiden Lane Medical to cancel my appointment. They said yes all set you are canceled and we hope you feel better. Great! I thought. About a week later I received a $75 no show bill. I was confused to say the least because not only did I cancel more than 24 hours before my appointment, but it was because I got COVID and did not want to expose anyone. I called the billing office and they told me to send an email detailing what happened, and to include the phone number that I called with so that they can verify the date that I called. I said “perfect! I’ll do that right away”. Which I did. I was assured that they have a 100% response time within 48 hours. Well three days after I sent the email I still got no response. So I sent a follow up email and called billing back. Billing told me that they have to wait to hear back from the office before they can respond to me. So I called the office. They were so rude on the phone and I don’t understand why. I was interrupted several times and told that “they always respond within 48 hours”, when I explained that I had emailed over 72 hours ago and still had not heard so that’s why I was calling back to check in (in case someone forgot or something) I was interrupted again and told that “when we have an update we will let you know”. When I asked if it is common practice to charge people a no show fee who not only call to cancel ahead of time (therefore it’s not a no show), but also who are literally forced to cancel and isolate due to COVID, I was told no usually they don’t charge for that. So greater becomes my confusion because I clearly explained my reason for canceling when I called in early December and yet I was still charged and now I can’t get a response within the allotted time. It seems such a simple issue and it made me feel upset that I was treated with such hostility and disdain by those I spoke with on the phone. I literally cannot count the number of times I was interrupted and talked down to. I feel that my concern is 100% legitimate and that I did everything I was supposed to do in terms of canceling and they shouldn’t be mean to me for trying to rectify the incorrect bill that I received. Definitely makes me sad that this is how they treat patients, especially over such a small and simple issue. I know everyone is stressed nowadays but there is no reason to be so awful to others. I am sure the care at Maiden Lane Medical is great but the customer service is rude, misleading and disrespectful. I think it is completely ridiculous that I was charged in the first place, but given the erroneous nature of the charge, I don’t think that I deserve to be treated with such contempt just for trying to fix their mistake. And please don’t tell patients that there is a 100% response rate within 48 hours because it’s not the case. Honesty and kindness go a long way.
The staff was very helpful, even when my insurance company was not. It all worked out and I appreciate their patience. My doctor was great.
What a mess! My appointment was canceled and I didn’t know because for some reason ALL the contact information in my file was incorrect. While in the waiting room there was another person who was apparently experiencing the same thing. Maybe time for y’all to go back to pen and paper if you can’t make the tech work?
Ive been seeing Dr Edelstein at this location for the past 2yrs. Shes amazing! She help diagnosed an issue that I didnt know I had that went unchecked by previous physicians. Thank God, I found her when I did or I could have ended up in the hospital or worst! Shes thorough, and she takes the time to answer my questions. Shes also great with follow ups. She called me once at night on the weekend to give me lab results. She also has great doctors in her network in case you need a referral. The practice as a whole is great, they are conveniently located, theres very little wait time, the waiting room is spacious and comfortable, and the staff is friendly which makes a huge difference.
I received a $350 bill for an annual visit that I was told was covered by my insurance, as well as a $60 alcohol screening (I don’t even drink) and a $50 depression screening (I have depression and may have mentioned this in my medical history but was definitely not screened for it). This is absolutely crazy to me. Just because I deal with depression that is being treated, does not mean I should have an additional charge for It especially when I just mentioned that there was a medication I am on for it.
I have been coming to see Dr. Davidson for the past 5 years. Hands down the BEST doctor ever. Not only does she take the time to address your concerns she follows up on her off days. She was also the ONLY doctor who listened to me when I was complaining of severe menstrual pain. Later found out I have endometriosis. If you are looking for a doctor who helps you navigate your diagnosis and looks at different alternatives then this is the office for you....
Wonderful experience! Offices were clean, there was no wait time and staff was kind. Lauren really took the time to sit and listen to my history. I was most impressed with the follow up call that Lauren made explaining my results and different options for next steps. I felt empowered and attended to. Will definitely be going back to Maiden Lane Medical.
Dr. Emily Blanton was the kind of doctor listened to my thoughts, concerns and fears when I was at the most vulnerable time of my life. Yes, she listens to my thoughts, because she can understand where my fears and concerns are coming from, without excessive words. Kindness is her bedside manner and along with her brilliant surgical skills, I have the utmost confidence that she will always take care of me. Dr. Blanton always answered my questions with sincerity and clarity, and she ensured me that all my questions were important and valid. I dont think I have encountered any doctor who is as proactive, thorough and patient-centered as Dr. Blanton. It feels amazing to know that I have a doctor whom I can trust completely.I have been to Maiden Lane Medical Downtown and Soho locations, and the staff in both offices were hands down the most supportive, efficient and friendly people there are. It really makes a difference to have a group of good people in medical offices, because no one wants to deal with indifference, rudeness and negligence when you are unwell and in need of medical care. I have changed doctors due to underwhelmed experience with the staff, but I am glad I finally found the whole package! The best doctor and the loveliest staff! Thanks for taking care of me, Maiden Lane Medical team.
The Best OBGYN office and staff ever the front desk admins are super nice and my doctor is amazing too! She is super patient and comforting. She does a great job about communicating everything clearly which I absolutely love! Would recommend Dr.Janette Davidson to anyone I know!
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Davison since 2019 and she is incredible! Excellent bedside manner, knowledgeable, and never makes you feel rushed. Will always answer your questions whether during an appointment or on the patient portal. Staff is very organized and courteous too! Highly recommend.
The billing team is atrocious. Dont bother asking if something is going to be covered by your insurance. The answer you will receive is I dont know despite them having all of your insurance information. They will charge you for incorrect procedures and perform unnecessary medical procedures to buff up the bill. I was also charged a $75 no-show fee because I RESCHEDULED an appointment to another day. I am cancelling all my future appointments and moving to a new doctor to avoid the risk of getting charged for more unnecessary procedures and ridiculous fees.UPDATE 4/19/2019: I still have not received a refund for the $75 no show fee (as claimed by Dr Levey below). When I was originally charged this fee, they applied the charge as a credit to my outstanding medical bill. They reversed that credit but didnt actually refund me as I still have the charge on my credit card. This effectively double charges me. THIS is why clients are so upset with this provider and its billing team.
I went in for a procedure today and was extremely nervous and anxious and Within moments felt SO comfortable after meeting Gina!! Gina is one of the most comforting, kind and funny nurses I have ever met! She comes in with the most positive attitude and it is evident to anyone who meets her what an appetite for life she has! Grateful for this experience and this office!!!! Thank you Gina!!!
I do not trust them with my reproductive health. I have had an increasingly bad experience with them from the start, and at this point I feel like if I am unable to trust them with small things I certainly dont trust them to perform surgery on me.It began with them repeatedly canceling and rescheduling my initial appointment because the doctor kept getting scheduled for surgery at the time of my existing appointment. When I showed up on the morning of my first appointment at the time I had been told, they had changed it back to the afternoon without telling me. I live in Brooklyn and had come a long way, so I opted to wait the three hours to see the doctor rather than reschedule for the umpteenth time. The doctor was fine. She was pressed for time (I get the impression thats normal for them) so my appointment was very short. Not the best gyno Ive had, but not the worst.I scheduled a surgical consult a couple weeks later, and I am very embarrassed to say I arrived a full 20 mins late for my appointment. Due to their terrible answering service and the very short window I had above ground as i went over the bridge, I could not call to tell them I was late and just hurried to get there ASAP. After checking in and paying my copay, they told me that they had marked me as no show and therefore the doctor would be unable to see me that day and I would have to reschedule and come back. Normally I would think this is reasonable because I feel its really rude to show up late. However, THEY WOULD NOT REFUND MY COPAY that I had just paid for the appointment I didnt get to have. I decided at that moment I would rather get my care somewhere else, and I have still been unable to get a refund on that copay from their billing department.TL;DR Really terrible front desk. Okay doctors. Also, they had a dead fish at the front of their fish tank being eaten by the other fish. Bad juju, dude.
I would give this negative 10 stars if possible. they are essentially criminal and conduct insurance fraud. the billing was horrendous. they charged $850 for an annual visit. tacking on $100 for answering questions the doctor asked about my medical history!! Charging me $400 extra because I alerted the doctors attention to a lump Id noticed. Claiming that since I brought it up it wasnt included in the $275 office visit??! Are you not supposed to tell a doctor how you feel and just hope they notice?? they also billed out of network when i was told by their desk staff and my insurance that the doctor was in network. when i brought that to their attention they said the bill stands??!!?? the referrals Dr Rush gave me were incorrectly written and I had to go back to the radiology place 2 times. Dr Rush left the practice and no one alerted me. so i am still trying to get the results of a biopsy that was done 6 weeks ago. despite the fact I have called, faxed and emailed several times as well as used their ridiculous portal. the last the doctor said to me was lets hope its not cancer while crossing her fingers. Id really recommend avoiding this place at all costs!!!!Update: my insurance company has looked at the bill and fixed it. Insurance Rep said “they (maiden lane) are giving you the run around”. Their original bill charged me $400 out of pocket and I was told by their billing department after multiple attempts to correct issue “the bill stands” . Once I got my insurance involved and after hours on the phone they rectified the issue. The current amount I owe is $25. Maybe this was a one time issue but based on the other reviews here I am not sure that’s the case. I was contacted by Maiden Lane after posting the first review and was told my review was “full of lies” and “libelous”. That rates as horrendous patient care in my book. Even if my facts were incorrect (which I don’t believe them to be ) I think it is wildly inappropriate and not helpful to name call a patient. I would have preferred a more constructive problem solving response.
It is very rare that you find a physician as caring and supportive as Dr. Lauren G. (90 Maiden Lane). Her bedside manner and calming presence are truly appreciated. I’ve been dealing with some health issues and over the course of two weeks of business travel she corresponded with me every step of the way. Highly recommend and look forward to staying with her going forward.
HORRIBLE practice. Do not go here. I had an IUD put in years ago and the doctor at Maiden Lane cut the strings so short that when I went to get it out I was required to be put under anesthesia for a procedure. Maiden Lane requires you to get a covid test at the practice ahead of any procedure - what they dont tell you is they charge $1,370 for a covid test. I called the billing department to see if my total bill was a mistake and the only thing they offered to do was put me on a payment plan. They claim they are patient-centered which is a joke. Avoid this practice - there are so many great doctors in the city that do not overcharge and have hidden costs.
Great, welcoming, warm and friendly staff, from the front desk, to the anesthesiologist, to the doctor and assistants. Made me feel very comfortable and relaxed during my visit. Nurse Erin was especially helpful!
I have edited my review because after my past two visits, I feel I must. As much as I have read the other reviews and understand where their complaints may be relevant, I also have to say that the experience and knowledge in this office is beyond anything that I have had in the past. Dr. Levey ORIGINALLY treated me with casual respect and took time to answer my questions even though he was very busy. It was obvious that he was busy and that the office ran the show. However, Dr. Levey diagnosed me, talked to me, and made me understand all of the things that needed to take place from that point on. I was relieved after seeing him and being so unsure of my symptoms. I would highly recommend him if you want a no-frills, no-bullshit appointment Dr. who will get down to business and take care of you for the long run. However, after my surgery with him, I felt like my follow up appointments were very disappointing. I was rushed in and out with no regard to my seemingly silly questions while paying a pretty penny. It is my body and I have the right to have my questions answered with respect. Yet, he is a surgeon and that is what he is best at. After surgery, you might want to bring in your tough girl voice and attitude to make him take you seriously and take time to answer your questions. P.S. NEVER schedule and appointment on Fridays. It is like a war zone in there.
I truly can’t even explain how ridiculously wonderful and amazing every single person is at Maiden Lane Medical. From the gynecologists, physical therapists, pain management doctors, to all the nurses and staff - I can’t believe I was so lucky to find this place. They are so unbelievably nice but more importantly they are THOROUGH and really always take all the time you need to feel well taken care of and every single thing you feel or need to talk about, they are there. This is the best, best, best, best place. Dr. Davison has been the most amazing surgeon and doctor I have ever met- but all of her colleagues (Dr. Blanton and Dr. Zocca) are equally awesome. Im so grateful to everyone here and at the 18 E 41st street location. Truly the creme de la creme.
I am not usually a person to write BAD reviews, but I had to take time out of my busy schedule to write about the horrible customer service and billing department that Maiden Lane Medical has.Their billing department is rude and unprofessional. Every time you try to contact them, they answer the phone with an attitude. That is if you are lucky enough to get someone on the phone. Most times if someone answers, they will say hold on, keep you on hold forever and then someone “accidentally” hangs up on you.I keep receiving bills for my annual physical. You should never be charged for an annual physical. Then if you try to make an appointment with customer service/receptionist, they act like you are not standing there. They are always too busy ordering their lunch and talking to each other to help the patient.I followed my doctor here because she changed practices and that is the worst thing she could have ever did. I refuse to go there anymore! Your patient should always come first, but with them, it is all about the money.
Extremely dishonest billing practices. Went here to get twilight anesthesia for my IUD replacement because they were in network. I was assured the process (including anesthesia) would be covered by insurance, but they failed to inform me that they would be using an out-of-network anesthesiologist. 4 months after the procedure, they hit me with a bill for over $1,200.
I rarely have a pleasant clinic experience and Maiden Lane is definitely one of those rare times. My doctor, Dr. Elizabeth Edelstein is awesome, the lady who extracted my blood was also awesome, too bad I forgot to ask for her name. I would have given them 5 stars if only I had a great experience with the receptionist, she wasnt very pleasant and it felt like she just dragged her feet to work. But overall, I highly recommend Maiden Lane Downtown.
The doctor has treated by problem (trivial one) but I didnt like the approach as I felt embarrassed. Another thing is that I have been charged co-payment as clinic was a part of network. Then insurance warned me that I might get 400$ bill. I have never got a bill but what is interesting they just charged my credit after one year. I think it is not acceptable. Anyway, I am not going there anymore! (reviews of the doctor Shannon Hudson look good and picture is nice but reality is completely different. I suggest trying someone else.)
My doctor Dr.Marina Arutunyan, was very professional, approachable, kind and easy to talk to. She attended to me promptly and thoroughly. She is knowledgeable about her area of expertise and I will definitely come back to her again.
Ive been seeing Dr. Davison for a few years now. I can honestly say shes awesome. Shes caring, has excellent bedside manners, and is very intelligent. All things youd expect from your doctor, but dont always get. Overall, everyone weve encountered at Maiden Lane Medical Downtown, has been nothing but wonderful.
This is my third time coming to Dr. Davison for annual checkup. I appreciate her knowledge and feedback. However, this time around I was billed for what is considered “extra discussions” that are outside of routine discussions. Not sure if what patients should discuss during annual check up if they haven’t seen their physician in a year. Patients should be aware that specific topics should be omitted during annual check up if it’s outside of “routine check up” to avoid confusion. I have never experienced this before with any doctor (primary care or obgyn)who would want to retain patients. Unfortunately, this is a red flag to me and I won’t be coming back. It happened right before I wanted to make an appointment for my mother and refer my friends to the medical center. This incident doesn’t seem to be a genuine practice that I would want to pay for. BE WARE! DONT RECOMMEND
The billing team at Maiden Lane is disastrous. I had a good experience with the doctor. However, I must’ve received over a dozen mails from them with inappropriate charges. All my visits were covered by my insurance and all I had to pay were the copays, which I paid at the time of my visits. They had the audacity to send me a bill for $4,000 for a minor procedure. I called their billing team, which by the way was very difficult to reach, and the person told me simply that there’s been a mistake on their end and that they will reverse the charge. Her attitude was not apologetic at all, but whatever, I am fine as long as the issue is fixed. But I continue to receive bills from them charging me for copays that I’ve already paid! It’s beyond ridiculous!I emailed them and they responded that I now owed them $70 without showing any reasons at all!I liked the doctor but I will never go back again because of the poorly run/shady billing department. What a shame!
I scheduled an appointment for a checkup here via zocdoc by mistake (I meant to find a new psychiatrist for an emergency script refill) but it ended up being 10x more beneficial than my original plan. Every person I engaged with was so kind and helpful. Dr. Genovese is great and I learned like twelve new things in one appointment. ALSO special shout-out to Laura who got my veins on the first try which has never happened in my 31.9 years of living.
Staff was very friendly. Saw Dr. Raisen first for an annual checkup. She was very sweet and attentive. Listened to my concerns. Had several tests ran to see what the root cause could be. I then saw Dr. Barr for my annual GYN exam. Told her the problems in which I was experiencing. They are both great doctors and would definitely recommend.
World-class team. Honestly. Every single person on this staff is phenomenal. Dr. Davison is spectacular, really listens, knows her stuff, willing to work with you, patient. Dr. Socca is amazing as well. And office staff are far superior to any other doctor office I have engaged with (and Ive done my fair share).
Worst medical clinic in NYC. They are irresponsible, unreliable, and unprofessional. Try to make an appointment a year ahead of time, if you need any type of procedure done. The staff is rude, while on hold they hang the phone up after you wait for ten minutes. They charge you a cancellation fee, when I had confirmed, yet I was not told in the voicemail to go to the other location. They charged me a cancellation fee, when their surgery coordinator advise me not to get a surgery done because I had to travel for work. Yet, I was still charged even though their Lisa staff was on the phone with me, when she did the reschedule of the appointment. I would not recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good clinic. I am definitely not putting my health in their hands. With that being said, they dont even deserve one star, but I am force to provide a rating.
Amazing experience. Dr Rebecca made me feel so comfortable and listened to all of my concerns. Will definitely come back to see her again!
I have been a patient at Maiden Lane Medical since 2015 and was for a long time very happy and satisfied as a patient. However, in recent months there have been troubling events which have resulted in my leaving as a patient and seeking medical care elsewhere. The first being, my doctor had left the practice and I was assigned a new doctor without being notified - I was not made aware of this until I received an appointment confirmation the day of my appointment. The other, more concerning issue, is that when I recently made the decision to see a doctor at another practice, I called Maiden Lane Medical, requesting that my medical records be either transferred to given directly to me. I was told that the only way to receive my records, was to access them through Epaper, a third party online platform, which requires patients to request (which can take up to 10 days) and then pay, in most cases upwards of $50, to obtain their records. The practice told me this was absolutely the only way I could obtain them and there was nothing they could do. Furthermore, the fact that they share patients records with this third party, whether confidential or not, as the only means of a patient accessing them, was never disclosed - not verbally or via written communication. I asked specifically, if they ask patients to sign anything agreeing to this prior to visits, to which they said no, they do not.Patients have a right to receive their own personal medical records, directly from their doctor or doctors office, in an expedient and confidential manner and free of charge. This process is completely unethical and troubling and Maiden Lane should take accountability for this and be up front and honest about this practice with their patients.
DO NOT GO TO MAIDEN LANE. The billing department is a nightmare. The employees who work there are incompetent or liars or both.First, I was charged a $60 copay for an annual physical, which I was not supposed to be charged for. At the time of my appointment, I told the receptionist that it was a physical and I wasnt supposed to be charged but she told me I had to pay. I would have walked out but then they wouldve charged $75 for a missed appointment. The receptionist was completely rude and never looked at me when I had a question. She tried to act like I wasnt there. After my appointment, the Maiden Lane billing department lied to my insurance company saying that I never paid the copay so I couldnt receive a refund from my insurance company.I tried numerous times to get a refund from Maiden Lane themselves but they always tell me that they will refund me and then guess what: THEY NEVER SENT THE REFUND. My appointment was December 2017. It is now June 2018. I last spoke to them in March 2018 when someone from the billing department told me that I would receive a check from them by the end of April at the latest. I never received it. I tried to call them again in May 2018 when someone picked up the phone, kept me on hold for 12 minutes, and then hung up on me.Ive decided to forget the refund Im owed because the aggravation from dealing with this company is not worth the $60 that they will never send. If they can mess up this much on just a copay I dont want to know what they mess up on if they have to bill someone who has a diagnosis that requires consistent appointments.I can just hope that other women avoid this company like the plague.
My daughter missed her yearly check-up. I tried calling them twice and only got their voice mail. I left messages both times. They did not call back. Two months later, we get a bill from the collection agency. I called and got to speak with a person, this time. I paid the bill over the phone. I still am getting letters from the collection agency. I hope they treat their clients better than the experience we had with them!
When I punched in my health insurance on ZocDoc, their office came up, so I believed I was in network. Both times I went to the office the front staff never told me they were out of network. Come to find out, they were when I received a bill in the mail. Additionally, some of the testing they sent to the lab for routine bloodwork wasnt covered. Ultimately I had over $600 worth of charges. I called the front desk and was told I needed to take it up with my insurance. The receptionist was quite rude. When I spoke to my insurance they said there was nothing much I could do other than fight the charge. At this point, Ive paid the fee as I dont have the time to deal with this headache. I recently had a baby and between all my obstetrician visits (not with Maiden Lane), ultra sounds and hospital bill, the total for all was less than what Maiden Lane charged me for two visits and blood work. I rarely write these types of reviews, but I hope others can avoid the billing headache I went through.
I’ve been to the downtown and Soho locations. Both are amazingly kind, friendly, and helpful. I am being seen by Dr. Emily Blanton and she is by far the best doctor I have encountered in my life.I was supposed to have a procedure with my last GYN but my insurance changed and it was canceled. I had around 3 appointments with that last GYN and the way Dr. Blanton explained everything to me is nothing compared to the accumulative three appointments with my last GYN. Everyone helped me remain calm and secure. Thank you!
I am being billed for an appointment that I cancelled! After numerous appointments being cancelled by their office without giving me any notice until I showed up and finally getting in to see the doctor which turned out to be the nurse practitioner to only not get my medication called in to finally getting my medication called in only to be the wrong prescription! I absolutely cancelled my next appoint, ent which it seems you failed to log too. I do not owe any co-payment or balance. This place is a joke!
Dr. Barr is great! Really easy to talk to and willing to take time to answer my questions. She doesn’t make me feel rushed. So glad I found her!
Updated to say billing was very prompt in issuing a refund. Dr. Ostrov was very friendly and personable.Review is for the office staff and similar to other reviews. They didn’t seem to call my insurance company to verify benefits, so even though an annual exam is covered at 100%, I was charged a copay. I’m hoping the billing department is quick to issue a refund, for which I will update my review.
Everyone from the front desk to the nurses to the doctors are SO nice. They have a great app to make appointments so I’m never stressed or forget when my appointment is and I’ve used their tele doc a few times. The doctors always give me practical direct advice which is exactly what I need - very happy I found them.
Loved my experience here. Extremely friendly staff and Dr Blanton is one of the first doctors in a while that made me feel heard and she is very smart and real. Will be always going here!
The entire staff is amazing ! Dr. Mariz is the best ....
Dr Podolasky is quite possibly the worst gyno I’ve ever seen. arent doctors supposed to care about you and listen to you and your concerns? It’s the complete opposite of what happened during my appointment. I went in for an annual exam and it lasted 8 minutes. I tried to express concerns that I’ve been having recently and the doctor said “can we just get through these questions first?” I never got to express my concerns because she ran out of the room once she did a pap. she didn’t shake my hand, say it was nice to meet me (new patient too!) literally nothing! not even have a nice day. HORRENDOUS. I saw another doctor there but she switched practices and I wonder why!!! Wish I could give this review a 0 star.
I had a video appointment with Dr. Rebecca Podolsky and the actual consultation/ doctor was fine. Prior to the appointment I asked for confirmation that it was covered by my insurance and sent pictures of my insurance card via email and was told it would be a $25 copay. Recently I received an additional bill from the office for the visit. I had trouble finding any email address to contact for an explanation and the chat for billing on the website is not available. After leaving a message on the website, I was told by their billing department that it was the patients responsibility to know their plans benefits and limitations. Whether the doctor you are seeing is in-network or not with your specific plan. This seems rather unfair as I went out of my way to confirm with the office that my appointment was covered by my insurance and I took their word for it. I would not have booked the appointment knowing that it was not covered.
Dishonest, cynical. If there is anything one should take away from my personal experience - beware of their billing practices, and you could save yourself an expensive nightmare.Lets just say my experience started with a misleading estimate on costs (reception said $60 copay, my total bill ended up being $1800), to being misled by the doctor that a test was preventative (resulting in insurance coverage denial), to the doctor worming her way out of the issue and throwing me to the billing department (who is hostile), to everyone at the practice up to the owner of the business accusing me of harassment and libel (The harshest language I ever used was, im not willing to pay more for healthcare after the doctor deigned to answer a question without charging me for an additional telehealth appointment, and expressing my chagrin at the shock bills I received- no vulgarity, no name-calling, just a few choice caps- but nonetheless resulted in my expulsion from their entire practice anyway).Practical advice - if this is your first time at the clinic and the doctor nudged you in the direction of returning for an additional procedure, as occured during my visit when the doctor immediately recommended an additionally invasive procedure called LEEP without first viewing my lab results. Her advisement induced sufficient fear for me to agree to what she explained to me was a preventative cotest which ultimately ended up being billed as diagnostic anyway. Note to self: I would give it a few weeks to get a sense of their billing practices, which may lead you to reconsider resuming business with them (yes, cold hard for profit business, not care)If you come from a country where access to world class healthcare in state of the art facilities could be had at government subsidized rates, the ethical and practical standards of billing (intransparent, no accountability, hostile billing department), healthcare (10 minute zip in and out, although you may spend up to an hour in the clinic due to puncutality issues, doctor charges you extra money to explain your lab tests) will be an absolute shock to you, as it was to me. The yawning gap between the cost (eyewatering) and outcome (felt paltry, barebones and stingy, unbefitting of what I would expect in a first world country- again. Personal opinion) was also a shock to me.If you feel the urge to post a negative review on the clinic. Know that someone will be on your tails much quickly than you would expect. Despite the preponderance of negative reviews with even more biting language (e.gy buyer beware, go elsewhere- no offense to other yelp reviewers, its absolutely within your right), depending on your target or perhaps the number full sentences in your review, there is a chance you will soon forget your worries about whatever illness or ailment you came in for (in my case, precancerous lesions in my cervix), but rather learn quickly consequences of hurting the clinics ego. While $1800 will take a bite out of my already thinned out savings as we are expecting a child, it is an investment in what I hope to be a lesson for myself on how placing trust in any healthcare provider in New York is a slippery slope.
The staff here dropped the ball in various ways. Went for a physical and requested a stress test. After making the appointment and requesting that over the phone, I learned when I arrived that they do not conduct EKG’s with the annual physical - they send your off site for that - cool. Not a problem. However they failed to mention that it’s NOT part of the physical and considered a special exam. They also did not share that the appointment would be a consultation, NOT the actual appointment- so nice to assume I can make multiple trips. Again, may not have been an issue if I was informed. They also entered my insurance incorrectly - so they better NOT try to bill me for that. (Discovered that bit from the cardiologist appointment where I spent an hour as they tried to resolve the issue). There’s more to mention but why go on. I don’t recommend this place. Hopefully if you go, your experience will be better.
Calling Dr Page Baker amazing is an understatement! She was so patience, encouraging and professional since the first appointment! Highly recommend!
I recently went by to maiden lane and received subpar service. However, what was most disappointing is that they accidentally billed me FOUR times for the one visit as their online payment method had an error. When I called to get this fixed, they shared that they would not be able to refund the card, and instead will need to send a check in 3-4 months. Very disappointing service and solutions.
I met with Dr. Rebecca Donn who was so kind and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. Most pleasurable experience.I did have an issue with the billing department. I called the medical office directly & received no help. If you have an issue I suggest going to their website and contacting them. I received a response from Dr. Levey within a day. He was extremely helpful & resolved the issue immediately.
If I could give this practice zero stars, I would. They are a FRAUDULENT, UNETHICAL PRACTICE. STAY AWAY!! The other reviews on Google and Yelp re: NY Pelvic echo similar complaints. You will be charged $400 for simply stepping into their office. I was misled that this practice was in network with my insurance. I was then told I needed to provide my credit card to their office before seeing a physician. My blood pressure was taken and I spoke with a doctor for ~10-15 minutes and told to schedule a follow up appointment (in retrospect I realized that this was another opportunity to charge me). Afterwards, my credit card was charged $400 without my permission and I received neither a bill nor an invoice of any sort for this amount. When I called up to dispute the bill they informed me that this was standard practice, even though the services I had requested were never delivered. Do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS PRACTICE!Also, incredibly odd and inappropriate that the Response from Owner comments below on all of these reviews are trying to cover up their fraudulent behavior by writing This was a review created by a computer robot. No--these reviews were created by unhappy and mistreated patients.
From the moment I entered Drs office, there is a sense of warmth, caring and useful information. The reception area as well as the restrooms were extra clean. I really liked the idea of placing the patients fluid samples in a receptacle verses (other facilities) carrying your sample around the office until someone takes it from you! My experience with the doctor, intake worker, drs assistant and even other patients was great! Thank you all so very much!!
I highly recommend Maiden Lane Medical and specifically, Dr. Dena Harris, who is an outstanding and consummate professional. She thoroughly reviewed my medical history, thoughtfully discussed and diagnosed a few issues I was having, created a short and long term health plan and coordinated all my prescriptions seamlessly with the pharmacy. She is an extraordinarily skilled and caring doctor.
I had endometriosis surgery with Dr. Davison and she was amazing. She was caring, present, and super accommodating of my preferences and schedules. The whole team was really great. They were on top of everything relative to insurance and scheduling (even with the covid crisis). Even post-op I was able to send messages using their app and they would answer my questions within the hour. It was really impressive. I am now 1 month post-op and doing really well. Both the pre- and follow-up care have been great. Highly recommend!
I had a great experience with my recent appt at Maiden Lane. I was the only patient in the waiting area and felt very safe. The receptionist, medical assistant and clinician were very friendly and caring. I highly recommend this practice.
Absolutely avoid this place at all costs. The doctors are perfectly nice but like something rotting on the inside that has yet to show- everything else is awful. I got stuck with a bill for close to $900 from quest diagnostics after a check up and examination for a yeast infection. $900! I called to ask about this and was given the run around until I finally realized I needed to leave a message for the doctor to resubmit it as medically necessary. There were about 15 tests listed and around 8 were not covered by my insurance. After I got through to leave a message with the doctor, I felt relieved, thinking it was all taken care of. A month or so went by and I received a follow up bill for $424. I called maiden lane again and asked them to leave the message for the doctor. Recieved the same bill again. Called again. And again and again. My visit was last March and Im still dealing with this. Also- far less daunting but in September i received a $30 charge on my card from them. I emailed about it and was informed I had to pay 2 copays (one for check up and one for specialised exam) fine. That makes sense to me but it is ridiculous that they are so disorganized they charged me for this SIX months later. This place is a scam and I will be reporting them however I can. If you go to a doctor who takes your insurance for very routine examination, there should be no charge except the copay.
This is the most unprofessional doctor and office I have ever been to. My appointment was checked off as a no show because I was 3 minutes late, and no one even bothered to call me and ask if I was coming in, all so you could charge me a $75 no show fee. The receptionist was kind enough to book me with anither doctor, then Dr. Davison sends her nurse out to make sure I book my follow up appointment with Davison. Ridiculous! You canceled my appointment prematurely, but you think I will go to you for a follow up? So unprofessional and greedy. The people making the appointments at the call center have no Idea what theyre doing, and didnt make me an ultrasound appointment even after I specifically asked them to, and I waited over an hour and a half for absolutely nothing. The receptionist is the only person who knows what shes doing. Dr. Davison, your time is not more important than mine, and you would be nothing without your patients.
10/12/2018 Appointment: Originally I had an appointment with Dr Hudson who was so unprofessional. First off my appointment was originally for 12:50 pm when I got an email randomly saying the doctor changed it to 12:35 pm in the middle of the week. I called in to verify it wasn’t just asking me to get there fifteen minutes early for intake as I was a new patient. I got there on time at 12:32 pm and waited for about 15 minutes just get my vitals taken- not bad. Then finally at 1:15 pm after waiting over 40 minutes to be seen. She sends out a nurse to tell me that she can’t make it as she is going into surgery and that I needed to reschedule. This is after I already paid my insurance $30 co-pay. Thank God for the office manager Shanae (who looks like the lovely Tyra Banks btw) that went back and talked to her to give her a piece of her mind. Not only was SHANAE able to advocate for me telling Dr. Hudson that she was unprofessional as her she didn’t need to be in OR until 1:45 pm. She also got me to see another doctor thankful Dr. Paula Blume. Whom was a very sweet & understanding doctor that answered all my questions with ease & patience without rushing me or making me feel bad for taking me last minute. I would highly recommend her and I would not recommend Dr. Hudson. Not only was I turnt off by Dr. Hudson if Shanae didn’t assist me I would have misreviewed the entire clinic as unprofessional. I like the clinic now so much that I’m making one of the other doctors recommended by Dr. Blume my PCP. Thank you Shanae & thank you Dr. Blume. You made my day.
I recently moved out of NYC and needed to track down medical records from my visit to this facility and a doctor there. But, BE ADVISED: Maiden Lane, in true USA-fashion, charges money for you to get your own health records. And the person who answers their phones just says, Well, thats the courier service we use! This courier service was going to charge me 25+ dollars for the record of a doctor visit, of my own body. Considering the history of medical exploitation in this country, Maiden Lane should be ashamed of itself as an organization for this. What a joke! O, and by the way, the doctor I saw here 2 years ago had a terribly negative, sarcastic bedside manner and was ZERO help in the actual doctor department.
They make it so difficult and so costly to get your medical records here. Even after an excellent experience with Dr. Blanton, I cannot in good conscience recommend this practice given how challenging they make accessing your own medical information. I am in the midst of trying to figure out a course of action for a potential cancer diagnosis and there is not a single human being that I can talk to in order to get a cytology report that I desperately need for my primary gynecologist to make care decisions. Unacceptable. Oh, and also! They charge you for the horrific experience that you will have attempting to retrieve your records. They will not proactively send your records to your referring physician and then they will make it difficult if not impossible to access them, and then they will charge you in order to receive them.AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Charged me for a missed appointment that was never confirmed. I refused to give a credit card via a sketchy email and could not get a hold of ANYONE on the phone for the week leading up the appointment. Their policy is you must have a credit card on file to CONFIRM the appointment- if I couldnt get a hold of them, how is the appointment confirmed?PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!They then avoided my emails of me questioning the no show fee to allow the billing to go past 30 days and charge more. Absolute crooks.
Because a gynecologist is hard to find, I keep trying to make an appointment at this location. This is the 3rd consecutive appointment that has been cancelled by this office. My appointment today was cancelled because surgery was allegedly backed up. This was told to me an hour before my appointment. The other two times the doctors called out. I was told while on my way to the appointment. When I tell the young lady over the phone this, she tells me that this happens a lot in the office. My issue is time sensitive and I was told I couldnt get another appointment until the next week. This is a doctors office and you guys are running it with the casualness of a McDonalds.
DO NOT COME HERE!Read other reviews and take notice. I was treated like garbage here and turned away because I refused to leave my credit card on file for incidentals. I went to the office near Bryant Park. I am not even sure if the doctor was in the office but I couldnt get to see even the assistant as the receptionist started coming up with this idea of getting urine test which she couldnt explain why on earth it was needed then she said it was not really needed and that she was not medical personnel (duh) so she didnt know for sure. I realize now that this is done to get unnecessary test to inflate your bill. The worst part was that they insisted on taking my credit card for their long-term hold and there was lengthy paperwork how they could charge it for anything from being late to cancelling on too short notice and charging it anything without any explanation if insurance didnt cover it. This office only cares about getting your credit card information and will turn you away if you dont give it. The doctor obviously cuts corners by hiring the most inexperienced office staff who will inform you that credit card info is password-protected. (Thanks for amazing information)I will be consulting a lawyer as I cant believe such practice is legal.
I am in the service business and was stunned that the billing department for Maiden Lane Medical without returning ANY of my calls, simply sent me to collection for a no show fee. I acknowledged that I forgot to call to cancel the appointment and left SEVERAL messages with the person who answered the phone in the billing department but I NEVER received any call back. This is simply not how great companies do business. I will check my credit reports and if that company is listed, I will take legal actions against Maiden Lane Medical.
Dr. Hobbs and her staff are a real rarity in NYC. She is the best OBGYN I have had in over a decade, and really took the time to find the right solution for my pain and the right birth control for me. Their office is beautiful and the wait time has only gone down each time I go. I had an insurance issue with a procedure I had done there and was fighting claims for 11 months, but her staff (Lynn, specifically, is incredible) never gave up and finally got the issue solved and taken care of for me. As long as I am in New York, I will be seeing Dr. Hobbs.
I attempted to make an appointment, however the office would not allow me to do so unless I provided them with a credit card over the phone. They said this was normal, however this is literally the only time in my life this has happened. Since then it doesnt matter how many times I try to get off of their lists, they keep spamming me via email, text, and phone calls. Its 10am on a Saturday and I just got a robocall from them asking if I want to make an appointment. I mean I guess if you love spam go for it. Otherwise avoid.EDIT: The owners response seems to indicate that all I need to do to stop the spam is contact the office. I have done that. Its been 2 years and the spam continues.
Nicest people ever. Great if you have medical anxiety because every single person there is so kind and not mean or scary -- have been going for 3 years and never had a negative experience.
Myself and my daughter see Dr Hudson from this practice and love her, straight forward, gives you necessary information and great advice and service. Dr Hudson is very approachable for my daughter too which is great as it is her first experience with an OBGYN. Appointments generally run on or near to on time. Two offices in manhattan to choose from, scheduling is pretty easy through Zocdoc but calling the office is not always easy and often a wait time to get through to someone. I would still give it 5 stars despite that though as with medical fields it is impossible to run totally on time.
The cons: I went to them over a year ago and just got a call from a collections agency saying I owed $140.00 for labwork Maiden lane had sent in. This was the FIRST I had heard I owed any money. I figured out the address Maiden lane had put on my file was their own address. So the lab was sending Maiden lane bills for me. No one at the office caught this error and no one notified me I owed money. Had I not picked up the call by the bill collector it would have hit my credit report.
I wish I could give this horrible practice 0 stars. I have had the worst experience I have every encountered with this medical office and I have lived in third world countries.Wait times I can understand in medical offices but what I can not understand is having a patient come in, wait an hour, be called to go sit in another waiting room for an hour for the doctor to then come in and tell you that they dont actually have the vaccination you need. That doctor then openly complained to me about Maiden Lane Medical which is not a good sign. She reassured me that next week they would have the vaccination and I could return. I was a bit worried as I needed everything done by a certain date in order to be cleared for my program but said okay. The next week I got a call on the morning of my appointment telling me that the doctor was not in the office and I needed to reschedule. I rescheduled to a few days later. When the day came I got another phone call stating the doctor was not in the office. I called very frustrated and asked if there was ANY doctor in the office that could literally just stick a need in my arm. After being on hold they finally said yes someone cancelled you can come in today.I got into the office and sat in the waiting room where the two office ladies were behind the desk talking about my appointment and how the backup doctor that I was scheduled to see had just left the office and they were fidgeting not sure what to do. I finally went up and said Hello Im the person youre referring too, is something wrong? and they reassured me that there was nothing wrong and that I could go to the back and wait in a room. Im not sure who stuck the need in my arm as they didnt look like a doctor but oh well, I was just happy to finally get the vaccinations as it was nearing the due date.I reminded the ladies that I needed the immunization form signed and completed that I had given them during my first visit and they again reassured me that it would be sent to me. A week went by and I hadnt received it so I called and asked them to remember to do it. This was the pattern as I called for a total of 20 times asking for this simple form. I finally received it LATE and had to pay a fine to my school due to them. BUT funny thing is it wasnt even complete! How incompetent are these staff members??? I then proceeded to email and call more times to get this completed as Im now accruing fees because of this completely incompetent medical office. Still have yet to receive it....
I have had great experiences with 3 of the doctors at the 90 Maiden Lane location. Drs. Edelstein, Hobbs and Weber are all fantastic! Cant say enough good things about them. They are very attentive and listen to your concerns and answer all your questions without trying to rush you like so many doctors do these days...
I love Dr Hobbs. She has been so caring through my whole ordeal. In general the entire practice is wonderful. They take you in on time and you never wait. She spends as much time as you need. I will never go anywhere else.
The staff was VERY friendly, even when helping me find the costs of certain procedures with my insurance. They took the time to speak to me and listen to all my questions, and I did not feel like I was being rushed at all which often happens at most doctor visits.
The staff and service was great, friendly professional and efficient. Please get some more primary doctors!
Fast and easy help. Modern communication technology Needed to get a prescription. I was able to message my Dr. Kim (who is great btw) through the app and she I had the medication in minutes. Thanks!
The front desk lady was very rude. She explained the insurance process and I couldn’t understand some part so I asked again. I got her ANGRY VOICE and A BIG SIGH after which made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.I canceled my appointment immediately. NOT HELPFUL. AVOIDE THIS PLACE.
I saw Dr. Davison end of June 2016 for my annual she was very kind and took great care in our appointment. My annual is 100% covered by my insurance, so I was pretty shocked when one month after the appointment my credit card, which you must leave on file or you wont be seen, was billed for a diagnostic visit. I called the billing department, thinking this was mistake, and they informed me that during my breast exam (which is included during an annual exam) I reported breast pain while Dr. Davison was examining me. I was stunned. I reported a symptom during an examination that was fully covered by my insurance and part of an annual check up. Evidently, telling the doctor that I had some pain was due cause for a charge for an additional office visit. I didnt receive any additional examination, ultra sound or test - so why am I being charged? Ive spoken to the doctor, who in writing through the portal AGREED that no additional testing was performed beyond the scope of an annual exam. The medical director wont take my phone calls, only communicates through their call service, and wont budge. I will be reporting them to my insurance company for fraud. Im completely appalled and disgusted with this practice and I urge anyone looking for an OBGYN to look elsewhere. ---The establishment posted a reply and I will say: NO EXTRA SERVICES WERE PERFORMED. As confirmed in the patient portal with the physician - who even requested the medical director nullify these charges.
I had a video visit with Rebecca Donn WHNP. She was friendly and professional. She collected a thorough past medical history and addressed my current concern. The appointment was relaxed and did not feel rushed at all. Rebecca discussed ample education and prevention strategies. I would see her again for any other obgyn issues!
I couldnt be happier with the staff and Dr. Marina Arutyunyan. Dr. Arutyunyan has excellent bedside manners. She is concise and makes an effort to know her patients genuinely. Ty
I love working with Gillian at Maiden Lane Medical! She is an excellent listener, a careful diagnostician, and a wonderful therapist. My back has improved immensely since working with her and I have a great self-care regime to build upon.
I highly recommend Maiden Lane Medical Soho office. Dr. Blanton is patient , thorough, and diligent in caring for patients. She makes sure I understand all of my treatment options, prior to moving forward with treatment. I am so happy that I found Maiden Lane. This has been my most positive experience with GYN care!
I have been visiting this office for over 10 years. The office staff has been reliable and professional. Dr Hudson has a priceless bed side manner along with professional knowledge to make you feel comfortable.
Good Service. My Gynecologist Dr Flavia Neil is an excellent professional, very attentive and helpful..
Hands down the WORST experience I’ve had with a doctor’s office. Do NOT waste your time with Maiden Lane Medical. Upon arrival for my appointment, which I was notified for, I was told they mixed up my appointment times, and to come back next week. Upon arrival for my actual appointment that did NOT even happen, I was notified of nearly $300 in cancellation charges for appointments I did not make. Weeks later, my loads of calls and emails are still being ignored.
This was my 2nd visit. My 1st one was years ago and the doctor was SO RUDE to me. My 2nd visit, I was told to reschedule my appointment so I did and all of these receptionists kept calling me to reschedule my appointment because for some reason they didnt know I already did. I arrived and waited in the patient room for 3 HOURS....I spoke to the receptionist and she said I wouldnt be charged for the visit because no one came to see me. A few days later I saw they charged me...WTF. AVOID THIS PLACE
I made an appt on Zocdoc and the day before the office cancelled the appointment on me. I then had to reschedule my appt. When I showed up they said the doctor could not see me now because they were in the middle of moving offices, but I could see a NP. I figured I already took off of work and wasnt going to take another day off just to get my annual. Two months later I get a $15 charge to my credit card (I received no invoice whatsoever so would have never known unless I checked my card statement). Long story short, after going back and forth with the Drs office and my insurance company, the office charged me for an appointment OTHER THAN my annual simply because I had the doctor refill my birth control prescription. Even my insurance company said they have never seen this happen. So just beware of what youre getting yourself into with this office.
Maiden Lane Medical has courteous staff and physicians who provide great patient care. Physicians, clinical, nursing, and CNA staff provide great professional care and medical advice. Awesome medical practice!
Rebecca Donn is incredible. So professional, warm, and skilled. The front desk staff and those on the phone were incredibly kind. Happy to say Ill be coming here for all my annual visits.
Did not wait to be seen long by the doctor! Had a thorough exam and results the next day. Highly recommend!
They will bill you for ridiculous things. Example, I had a routine check up covered by insurance and since the doctor HERSELF brought up birth control options for me, I was charged birth control screening which I had to pay for because it is not covered by insurance. I also had a cervical biopsy done here, and like another patient reviewed, they lost my biopsies. I cant think of anything worse than that. Avoid this place. I will find my OBGYN needs elsewhere.
Marina Arutynun is an amazing gynecologist. She is so polite and attentive. She doing great her job! The nurse and ladies from front desk so nice too.!! Thank you so much.Highly recommend !!!!
Dr. Davidson was kind, gentle and explained everything that she was doing every step of the way. She put me completely at ease and presented all of my options to me in a clear and concise way. I also love the app that they offer which allows you to access your records.
I had a recommendation from my Primary doctor. Dr Levy came highly recommended. I made an appointment In June and the earliest he could take me was October 5 .They told me to fill out a 5 page thing on line print it out and bring it In. My app was for 9:40am. I came in at 9:30am from Queens to see Dr Levy. I filled out more paper work then paid my co-pay and waited. Around 10:30am his 10:30am apt showed up and she was taken directly to one of the rooms to see Dr Levy. I asked why would a 10:30 be taken before the 9:40 their response was everybody Is here for different reasons. I sayd well of course but we all have appointments. Then they procceded to take me to his office where he came In I stood up and proceeded to shake his hand and he did not shake my hand and said Oh I will be w you In a minute and proceeded to do something on his computer. Then a nurse passed by saying that his 10:30 and 11:00am where waiting in rooms that numbers I do not recall. I waited more. Then I looked at the time and realized that It Is 11:15am and I can not believe that the way they would treat a first time client.I was waiting for and hour and 45 minutes and other patients w latter appointments taken before me I was appalled. At that moment I walked out to never return This city Is filled w great doctors that are more professional than Dr Levy and his staff. Not worth the wait
I was charged $850 dollars as a self pay patient for an annual exam. They refused to give me any kind of estimate for costs of my appointment. Their billing department is impossible to get in touch with. I am hoping beyond hope that I can somehow get my debit card removed from their records. This was a devastating experience I do not wish on anyone else and I hope that Dr Hobbs will realize that shes taking part in is hurting the patients shes supposed to be helping.
The experience was pleasant and my OB GYN Dr Ayana was so great!
Im having the worst experience with the billing department, so if youre considering to go here, think again. I got charged three different times for the same visit throughout the span of 8 months, then received yet another bill. Tried calling the accounting office multiple times, no one picks up the phone. I finally sat down and typed up a one page letter and asked them to respond to me with more details to what this charge is, sent the letter via snail mail. Not only I didnt get any response or even a curtosy call from them, today I got a letter from a debt collector. This is just such unprofessional work. If youre running a business that is this expensive, the least you can do is have a proper accounting team and just PICK UP THE PHONE!
Wonderful staff, wonderful doctor, great experience as can be going to a gyno. This is for the office in Brooklyn on Maiden Lane. Clean and homey office. Highly recommended, this is my new OB/GYN.
Terrible. Staff is rude ..Doctor I went to had very little knowledge of the problem that I have. After his treatment it even got worse. Now i need medical records to go to another doctor but office manager said it will take 30 days to get it faxed. Plus she was very rude and hang up on me when I tried to explain to her that this is kind of emergency. Her name is Molly and doctor name is David Friedman.
Dr. Datta-Thomas is so great. I am happy that I found a great GYN and I hope to stay with her for years to come .My surgery went so well and i love that she called in to check on me during my healing
Every single person who works here is nice as hell and is amazing at their job!!!!! Felt so relieved to finally find a gyno who cares, is gentle, and isn’t pressuring me into doing something I don’t think I need. Felt super safe here!
Awful experience. During my IUD insertion appointment I was made to wait 1.5 hours in the waiting room and an additional 30 in the patient room unclothed. During the actual insertion I fainted and all I remember was the doctor and nurse laughing at me. I felt so uncomfortable and anxious throughout the entire thing - it was a nightmare. Highly suggest finding a different doctor in lower Manhattan.
Felt comfortable with Dr.Gelman with my first televisit and visit in person. She had excellent bedside manner and would definitely recommend if youre finding a new doctor in NYC.
Dr. Faina Gelman-Nisanov is very knowledgeable, compassion and is committed to finding a diagnosis and treatment plan. My wife had her procedure done with Dr Gelman-Nisanov and she is so happy to have that kind of a doctor for her future visits. Doctor was super helpful in explaining the problem and the procedure. Staff was professional, courtesy, and trained well.
I could not begin to explain my 20 year journey with chronic pain, painful periods, endometriosis, along with inflammation and arthritis while leading a highly successful career and being a single mom in NY. I had seen every horrible doctor NYC has to offer and 14 surgeries (probably never needed) later I found Dr. Levey. Dr. Levey has been honest, understanding, caring, and knowledgeable with a WANT to really finally help me live the best life I can. Although I can’t say we have had tons of success, I can say that if there is a doctor anywhere in this world that can help me and help me get through my worse days, I will find that doctor through Dr. Levey. Dr. Zocca has taken over my pain management after my final surgery and she has devoted her time and efforts to support me and help me find options to try to find comfort in my daily life. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Levey and his team if you are a woman with pelvic pain. Don’t waste half your life and money to the rest of NYC’s rip-off unknowledgeable doctors. This team even helped me save my job when I almost gave up on my whole life. Thank you!!!
New dr for me at this location. Dr Jamie she was wonderful. Very attentive, answered my ques, professional and most of all down to earth. I drive in from Jim Thorpe PA. For my exams and was very happy with the care I received. Thank you
Its been 72 hours since I saw their doctor and my prescription medicines have not been sent to CVS. Due to this, I havent been able to take my medicines. Unprofessional, irresponsible behaviour. I had to call them 10 times and leave countless messages. Please pay heed to their shoddy service.
Drs were great and explained every step of upcoming surgery, front desk staff was professional and informative. Only issue to take away a star is getting my fmla forms completed. The first time, incorrect information was put on the form stating that I could return to work the day after my laparoscopy even though I had to be admitted for too much blood loss. Getting the corrected fmla form took almost 2 months and the person doing it was not in whenever I called for an update.
This was the first time I visited Maiden Lane Medical, PLLC, and Lauren Golfer, RN took care of me. It was a great experience. Always good to have a reliable and knowledgeable healthcare provider who cares about you.
I love how efficient this office is! They really go above and beyond to help. I also love their portal and having the option to connect with my gyno in a message. I’d never had a primary gyno but Maiden Lane has changed that. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
I love this medical institution, because I love Dr. Hobbs. She’s an amazing GYN. Also, I just found out the my old GYN Dr. Ottenheimer is joining Maiden Lane’s team. This is going to be such an amazing facility full of professional, meticulous and caring doctors.
Dont know about the other doctors. Ive been seeing Dr. Datta for about 3 years. I will not see anyone else. Shes very personable and knowledgeable. You may have bit of a wait (the longest I have waited was 30 minutes, but it was only once) at the office, but I think this particular doctor is worth it.
Dr. Blanton and the team at Maiden Lane is the best! Their team is caring and provides the best gynecological care that Ive ever experienced. I recommend this practice to all of my friends and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new gyno
Amazing Dr. Emily is the best Socorro I have ever had. The staff is warm and friend and professional.
Dr. Edelstein is one of those one-in-a-million practitioners who provides a great experience throughout. She listens and gives her full honest opinion in a succinct way, but without rushing you. Wait time was minimal. How often do you get say that?
Dr. Brignoni-Blume is incredible! I went to her initially because my former obgyn of 20 years wasnt open for business while she was building her new practice space. I never went back! Dr. Brignoni-Blume is not only incredibly knowledgeable, shes very easy to talk to (like talking to a friend) and creates a super comfortable space for her clients. I highly recommend this practice.
Avoid this place. They give you services without telling you that it would cost or how much it would cost, then hold you responsible for the bill. They are also terribly incompetent in managing financial records. I kept getting bills months AFTER I had already paid! I kept telling them that I have paid and they didnt make any effort to reconcile the payment records but threatened me to take it into collection procedure! NEVER going back EVER!
Extremely friendly, helpful, and kind staff in a beautiful office. Dr. Barr was really great and took the time to explain everything to me and the care plan to moving forward. Thank you!
These people are TERRIBLE AT THEIR JOB. DO NOT GO THERE.They failed to send me bills and it went to debt collection. I paid the debt collector immediately and sent documentation to NY Comprehensive. I received another bill and the debt collector told me to ignore it, which i did for a couple of cycles. I called and emailed and no one from this place responded to my queries. Now its 2 years later and I just got another debt collector that that THE SAME BILL. DO NOT GO THERE.
The front desk ladies are so very exited to take your credit card information every time you hsve an appointment bill you even of surgery followup or all followups and then make you wait over an 1 or more hours for your appointment. Wait time is just crazy. Hate the service dont waste your time.
I have been sent repeated letters asking for a $1915 payment for what should be a routine procedure covered by my medical insurance (a pap smear and a few other charges). I have made multiple attempts to resolve this with the company and there has been no movement with billing my insurance company. I cannot pay this for such a routine service. This is awful. I had to leave and find someone else. Take your health elseware if you value your sanity.Edit: According to my insurance, a claim was NOT made at any point in time by this doctors office. I have made multiple attempts to give these people correct information.
I had the best experience with this doctor’s office. The whole staff (doctors, technicians, administration, etc.) are kind, responsive and respectful of your time and individual health needs.
I am very happy with the care of the doctors and office staff, but the wait time is an issue every time. I have had to wait on average an hour for every appointment, and the staff often does not acknowledge that Ive been waiting. The call center staff also gives inaccurate information, and I have to wait until I reach the doctors office to get my question answered.
Paige Baker is an amazing physical therapist. She is trying to restore many years of neuropathic pain. She is kind, professional and supportive. I feel I am in good 🙌🏿
I needed a cervical biopsy done to rule out any issues so that I can have a uterine fibroid embolzation procedure. I had dr. Davison do the biopsy. The doctor said that the results will be ready in 5-7 days. A week and a half passed and no news. My surgeon also called to get results with no response.3 WEEKS LATER I WAS TOLD BY DR. DAVISON THAT MY SPECIMEN WAS LOST by lab!!!! They were apologetic and offered to do the biopsy again for free. I called the two labs they work with and there is no record of any specimen of mine. This was definitely an error caused by this practices staff. I have no confidence in this practice.
This place does not care for its patients at all. I spoke with the office every other week for 4 months requesting more information about a procedure and to schedule my appt. and each time I got the run around . This place has the worst customer service. Not sure how they survive if patients can barely get through to a live person and when they do, can not get their needs met.
Dr. Mariz is the best. Very professional and always very informative for all of my appointments.
Service is fine but the billing was ridiculous . they charge a lot for an insurance covered exams. I ended up paying hundreds of dollars without knowing that. And they even outsourced the blood testing so you have to pay them as well not only the doctor you visit.
Huge thanks to Dr. Levey, he is a wonderful surgeon!Check with your insurance to make sure he is in network for you and the facilities he uses. I read and heard a lot of complaints. He is worth every penny!
Always courteous, prompt, and attentive. And absolutely no wait time. I have been with my doctor for over 20 years through various group practices, and this one is the absolute best.
Dr. Fernando Maria is an excellent doctor. A very attentive and kind person.
Still waiting to hear back over 4 weeks for a requested procedure. Very poor communication and a lack of concern for a patients request, despite the patient making contact multiple times. Don’t recommend their lack of concern for women’s needs. Otherwise patient care with the doctors is acceptable but unfortunately no follow up patient care.
Professional and amazing staffCandice was my technician, very patient and made sure I was comfortable,Dr Marina very informative and easy to follow, showed a lot of interest to my issues
Doctor Gelman-Nisanov was so kind and made me feel very comfortable! She listened to me attentively and addressed my concerns very well! Definitely would recommend!
This place is a scam. They charge you a mandatory $30 copay, even if your insurance fully covers your annual. I called my insurance company and they confirmed this place is a fraud. The office is grimy, dark and hard to find in an unmarked building. I should have known. They overcharge you for services your insurance fully pays you for so that they get paid by you and your insurance, no matter what your insurance says.
I saw Dr. Jennifer Zocca yesterday via Telehealth. I like her very much. She is thorough, kind, and knowledgeable, and answers questions in a way that is easily understood.I highly recommend her!
Best doctor in New York - hands down. Dr. Gelman is one of the greats - do not hesitate
Dr. Levey Is a brilliant , kind and caring physician who shows you compassion and kindness. He is also a excellent surgeon and NY Pelvic Pain has a caring and kind staff, it is the only place to go ifyou need this kind of help.
