Good evening. The doctors are great and so is the staff. Unfortunately they must be extremely understaffed. Today I had plans and additional appointments for my child that I had to cancel due to waiting 3 hours to see a doctor. That is unacceptable and ridiculous! The management needs to do something about that! My child was hungry and of course bored. I shouldnt have to waste my day for perhaps 15 minutes of visit time. They need to hire more staff and be more efficient.
Ever since they have been getting overbooked with all the illegals, it hasnt been the same. Also, the people who book the appointments are nasty over the phone. I went here for prenatal care for my whole pregnancy, and now, after my c section all of a sudden they are overbooked and i cant be seen for my follow up to make sure my incisions heal correctly. Then i give the receptionist the spelling of my newborns name, and she is going to go and spell her name all wrong.. I think its time for me to find a new place to take my kids. I have been going to this location for 10 years since i first became a mother. I dont feel the same way about them anymore. I like my kids pediatrician Dr. Brooke trenton because she stays on top of everything i need for my kids. They need to find better people who answer the phone and they need to learn people skills. Dont like your job, then find a different career path and stop being nasty to people over the phone.
We normally go to the Harlem location but at the height of covid our office was turned into a covid testing site so we were sent here. They had safety precautions in place and the staff was cordial. Our visit was pretty quick. We were triaged and placed in an isolation room as a precaution since my son had previously ran a fever but the staff was nice and the doctor was thorough. I wouldn’t mind going back if it wasn’t so far from my neighborhood, especially since our PCP has relocated. But I appreciated their attentiveness to my son.
If you ever come for pediatric, ask for Dr. Brooke Trentor. Its been few years that I went to appointment with her and she is so nice and understanding. Always explains everything well, good listener and knows how to keep safe environment . She is the best pediatrician Ive ever seen! Huge respect!
I love this office. I’ve been coming here for my children for 8 years. In between then the doctor has not been consistently the same, but I love the doctor I have now. Dr. B. Trenton is absolutely amazing and reachable.The office is finally done with renovations I love the new set up.As for the staff I’ve made complaints before about the lack of professionalism. Nobody is ever rude, but a few times I did get the sense that by walking up to the desk I was a nuisance. However, I do see some improvements in that area now.
I would not advise anyone to take themselves or their children to this hospital, I have three children and we are registered with them, they are very bad and neglectful. I will change
Well there may be extenuating circumstances that would require us to wait longer times, I have never been to this clinic where the staff and physicians were not top of the line. I never felt rushed. I felt like my childrens health was Paramount to their attention. And I highly recommend it.
Was sent here for prenatal care, not only did they try to give me an appointment MONTHS away for my first prenatal visit, but they haven’t bothered discussing the results of my labs! I had to walk in, and was just met with a dismissive nurse that still didn’t even discuss my results with me… she said “from what I see everything is fine, they’ll discuss your results with you on your next visit”… with that being said I still know nothing of my unborn child and in desperate need of a better prenatal care if anyone knows of one!
Jennifer in the ophthalmologists department was very rude and unprofessional. She Only calls patients name once then heads back Into the back area. From other experiences at the Ryan Center the nurses always calls the patients name at lease 2-3x allowing them to acknowledge their name being called in such a HUGE WAITING AREA! . During a recent visit for my daughter, I became very annoyed & dissatisfied with the service we’ve received by Jennifer. She called my daughter name we jumped right up and proceeded to the area where she was however she ended up taking someone else in the back. I kept calm, when she came back out I thought she was going to call my child name again but she didn’t. She called the next patient to the back. Okay, at this point I’m starting to questioned what was going on? When she came back out I asked politely if she had called my daughter name and she “yes give me 5 minutes,” I responded “ok no problem.” Jennifer comes back out and called the next patient in, at this point I’m so confused. She had already exceeded her five minute and my daughter and I have been sitting patiently for a while now. I asked “ What happened to you calling my daughter, I thought she was next?” Jennifer replied again with “give me five minutes” as she continues to take the next patient to the back and that’s when I had gotten so upset!! She had us wait an additional 5-10 minutes then called my daughter in. Did not even apologize for the long wait or anything!!! WHY WAS MY DAUGHTER BEING OVERLOOKED AND TREATED AS SUCH!?!! My time is valuable just like everyone else.
The doctor that saw me was wonderful and kind. However, Ive had nothing, but trouble with admin side of this practice. I was scheduled on the wrong day for pap smear. I was told that I would be prescribed a medication. They failed to tell me the name of it. When my prescription never showed up in my pharmacy, I called and was told that there were no prescriptions on record. Then I was told Id get a call back about this issue. Well see if that happens.
I want to give a zero star if I could. This place is extremely unprofessional, careless and lack of sympathy. The OBs there dont work full time - most of them are only there 1 day per week, so it is unlikely that you will be cared for by your OB when you need, this is the heart of the problem - I went for my 7 week routine ultrasound scan and the result showed no fetal pole / heart beat. However, no one informed me and no one scheduled follow up appointment for me. At 9 week pregnancy I caught COVID so I was unable to see my OB. I had fever and not sure what to do, called Ryan Center - they left a message for the OB and I waited for a WHOLE day and no one called me back. I finally managed to reach them at 4:30 pm they told me the doctor has left.... Finally managed to see my OB at 10 week, she was concerned that I had a miscarriage so she scheduled an emergency ultrasound on the same day. Miscarriage was confirmed, but my OB already gone home and wont return until next Tuesday. I was told by my OB that if I have a miscarriage, I need to get the dead fetal tissue out of my body the sooner the better.I called Ryan Health to be seen by a different OB for this emergency situation, they said they CANNOT help me apart from leaving a message for my regular OB who will only be at work next week....I was left with no instruction what do to whatsoever, I am totally traumatized, amazed and surprised how bad this place could be.I had no choice but went to the ER and was taken care of in a different place. My advice is that if you love and care about yourself, your child, STAY AWAY from this Ryan Center. This place will ruin your life. What they have done is malpractice, luckily I saved my own life by going to the ER.
I was following my doctor from her previous post, even though it is far from my home, but because I think very highly of her. However my initial experience at the Ryan Women Childrens Center was far from normal or acceptable.First of all, the hostility I was met with when my appointment was cancelled and I tried to reschedule, was beyond rude! I had great difficulty leaving a personal message for my doctor, as I did not want to have to deal with the front desk or answering service due to the way I had been treated earlier. After leaving two messages - that I was not sure would ever get to her - my doctor finally returned my call after 2 days. Good news though, she was able to reschedule my appointment at a time that was convenient for both of us and because I needed to be in my office as soon as possible afterwards.However on the day of my appointment I arrived at the center 30 minutes early, as I had been asked to - having driven 1 hour and 15 mins into NYC - only to be told by the security guard downstairs that my doctor had called in sick!When I went upstairs to register and check to see if this was the case, the receptionist did not know anything and gave me forms to fill out. I then mentioned what the security guard had told me and the receptionist made a call to confirm it. I am not sure at what stage she would have notified me about my doctor not being there!I am a working professional and find this a totally unacceptable way to conduct business! Who doesnt contact a client or patient and give them notice that their appointment has been cancelled ahead of time? In my case particularly as my doctor knew that I did not live locally!Basically I lost 2 and a half hours of my time, the cost of parking in a NYC garage (for 15 minutes) and my gas and toll charges....... all for nothing! Not to mention the bumper-to-bumper West Side morning traffic and rain to boot! This could all have been averted by one phone call or text message to me! I would not wish this experience on anyone, least of all a first time patient, and hope by mentioning this, that a policy will go into place so that no such thing ever happens again!I am thoroughly disgusted with this Center and am hoping my doctor has the decency to, at the very least, apologize for this most unprofessional behavior.
The doctor was great very thorough the only problem I had was a big one with the checkout receptionist she was beyond rude. She was snapping her gum in her mouth and Was very unprofessional not even acknowledging I was standing in front of her for five minutes and when I asked her if she can check my daughter out she came out with the rudest comment I’ve ever acknowledge and I’ve worked as a manager in a dental office for 15 years ! In my front office that would never happen ever .The stars 0 for checkout .Again Dr was great .Train staff to acknowledge customer service is #1!.
Every year they change something and it’s an epic fail. It’s like everything became horrible after 2018! I don’t know who the director is but ever since 2018 things went left and never been the same….LITERALLY THE WORST PL! Now it makes sense why ppl leave n quit.
The online booking system is terrible and deceiving. I registered, got my confirmation code, booked, got a confirmation code again, waited for the appointment confirmation, I got the appointment confirmation (and my Google calendar synchronized it), but when I arrived at the location there was NOT appointment.Once I was back home (no walk in either), I double checked and found a later note (like 3/4 days after) that the appointment was not available anymore. The note did not effect the calendar because the system is not set properly, and got lost in the long thread of emails that the system sent.Totally inefficient
My sister went to the doctors because my niece was sick and had a heat rash. So when my sister saw the pediatrician Bertha Ramos-Ramirez she became very uncomfortable, the doctor was very unprofessional she compared a pacifier to coke, she insinuated that my father was the dad to my niece when he’s actually the grandfather. I would never recommend anyone to take their child to see her. My sister would never come back back to that place . This place deserves NO STARS WITH STAFF LIKE HER .
Do not bring your kids here!!They do not care about their patients my daughter was sick and they had no availability so I decided to take her to the ER I attempted to reach Ryan health 3 times to obtain her insurance information and shots records because I didn’t have it handy and the online portal was just not working and No one was able to help me Not even with the insurance information!!Very disappointed because I was also coming here for my prenatal visits which they also screwed up once by taking the wrong blood test on me, they also had be wait 4 hours to see a doctor once when I was pregnant but I still decided to give them a chance but now I’m officially done with this organization.
My daughter has been a patient here since she was born. Her doctor which is Bertha Ramos is great. She takes her time with the patients but also trys to hurry so we are not there to long. The only thing I dont like is the wait time and the Customer service desk in the front and kids side. The way they ask you questions is very unpolite like they dont look forward of coming to work nor are they a people person but yet they work in a center with children. Secondly the wait is tremendous. Your better off setting an appt for the morning. anything in the afternoon your looking at a 3 to 4 hour wait. Good look.
When I was pregnant with my first in 2019 I went here for prenatal care and a lot of my experience was the same that in reading here now; staff disrespectful and dismissive. I had multiple complications with that pregnancy and was hospitalized once one month before I was told to come in to be induced, well I found out that time that the reason I wasnt feeling well and was asked to come in to be admitted was because the Dr I had (Dr Catherine Abbott) overdosed me on uti medication. When I brought it up, that was how much she prescribed me I was immediately told by 2 Drs at my sinai and more than one nurse that sye had overdosed me and since it was my first pregnancy is had no way of knowing. After that visit I was trying to to get back in to see another Dr at ryan and was told I was no longer a patient there as now o was considered to have a high risk pregnancy, but that was the first time I had heard of that.Skip forward 2yrs and in pregnant woth my second and I cant even get anyone on the line to see if I need to schedule an appointment with a high risk Dr because my first ended up being high risk or if I can go back there (seeing a different Dr of course, I WILL NOT see Catherine Abbott again), but not one answers the phones and when you scheduled for a call back they never call you back no matter how many times you try
I have had great experiences at Ryan Center. My children and I are patients and could not have asked for better care and service. The front desk staff is always very pleasant and helpful. I truly love when Ana the receptionist at the pediatric department Shes always pleasant and kind. Thanks Ryan.
Best place for kids specially the Doctor Oie she’s the best so educated so professional if u have a baby a kid any age be honest personality I recommend the doctor Oei that accepts many different insurance if u have to pay co-pay it’s not really da much 40$ the only thing that I don’t like it’s when u have to call them to make an appointment or something else they took tooooo loooooong to take that call ☎️
Berta Ramos Ramirez is the quintessence of a pediatrician who is caring, informative and readily available. She takes the time to answer all questions, thoroughly explaining the dos and donts of 1st time parenting. She doesnt rush you but she does keep in mind that no one wants to sit in a doctors office for hours on end. The only ANNOYANCE is the wait time if you need to make an appointment via phone or in person. Also the wait time is long if you dont have an early appointment. Staff members arent very friendly and speak to you in a rude manner. Outside of that I ONLY continue to come here because of Dr. Ramos Ramirez....
I go to the Mental health center and one unfortunate day I had to speak with my Social Worker Gabriel his always professional. However theres a lady at the front desk that was completely unprofessional. I mentioned to her I had the flu and she made a nasty face as I asked for a mask. She has short red hair and shes 60 years old she also had surgery. I know because we used to talk but I dont bother talking with her again because she was so unprofessional. If you know you work in an environment that you come in contact with people that may or may not be sick. You should at least be more professional. Like I said she short with red dyed hair and her breath stinks. Youll know her when you see her she sets at the front desk.
Moved in to the area recently and was very worried about finding a Pediatrician for my daughter. I was not thrilled about giving this center a chance because of the reviews but my daughter got sick and I gave it a try. The receptionists and nurses were very nice and helpful. My daughter saw Doctor Trenten and she was great. I will continue to take my my daughtee there. I recommend this place they even have an eye doctor.
My kids have been a patient of dr. Berta Ramos Ramirez at the 801 Amsterdam ave. Location for a little over 3 years and On June 24 ,2021 I was scheduled for 140 revisit appointment for my three-year-old and my two-year-old, upon arrival everything was normal as usual and even though the wait time is usually lengthy and my kids tend to get frustrated everything was OK for the most part, and after about 119 minutes the doctor came in the room at this point my son was having a meltdown where he’ll usually have a tantrum and he’ll cry uncontrollably and you would think being at his doctors office (a pediatrician) they would understand but instead I personally feel my visit was rushed I had a lot of questions that I needed answers I didn’t get, understanding that it was difficult for us to communicate with him crying so I was fine with going home and calling Her (his dr.) too have a discussion then we go back to the waiting area I got in the line and as I was waiting to check out my son drop is water battle I picked it up went to the bathroom behind the receptionist to watch it off and I noticed how filthy and smelly the bathroom was and someone did not flushed (and To think the janitors always walk around all day and the bathroom are usually that way )it so when he dropped it the second time I didn’t picked it up and he starts crying now my daughter dropped her candy and there’s no way that I could’ve picked it up and give it back to her so now both of them are crying I finally made it to the receptionist where I told her my kids name and they date of birth and I also explained to her that any day is fine as long as the appointment is in the afternoon never mind you at this point both my kids are crying uncontrollably and everybody’s just keep gandering around looking while the receptionist is still asking me what time and day is good for me when I already expressed to her twice that any day in the afternoon is fine now at this point other staff is trying to tell me to go into some rooms because my kids are crying and I couldn’t understand why I have to go in any room when all I need was my appointment Printed out because I’ve had numerous issues with them calling to schedule appointments and when I got there they don’t have any appointments for me in the system so to avoid the running around and any issues I always like to leave with my appointment follow-up in hand an i just couldn’t see why that was such a big of a issue because my kids are crying and I’m not being service then here comes the doctor saying to the receptionist don’t give her any appointment and that’s when I lost it and my response was “wtf you mean and why I can’t have my appointment because my kids are crying”??? Rhetorically to the receptionist and whoever was standing there listening that’s an employee refuse me services after seeing with the doctor every test that she ordered was not completed. I was also being threatened by a man dressed in a suit and after a few words was exchanged I got on my phone and call my husband while on the phone explaining to my husband what was being transpired some black man in administrative I believe expressed to me that I’m playing a victim and I replied to him how am I playing a victim?? and I don’t understand how I’m playing a victim. A victim of what??? Being a victim of refuse service because my kids are crying i’m really confused and its very disappointing because I’ve been there on numerous occasions and I’ve seen a little kids have outbursts and the parents is expressing frustration as well and they wasn’t treated the way I was.
I love my sons Dr. Majhmadar always great and is very supportive. The only thing is some of the office staff think that because your not of a light completion you could not possibly be a Latina!! So I have had to be somewhat abrasive with the receptionist. So for the most important part I would send referrals to them
The mental health staff downstairs have been amazing, especially Wilma Arias. My child and I are both seen there by different providers.. My daughters pediatrician is Dr. Mathieu and she is SENSATIONAL. Outstanding doctor and she always goes above and beyond for everyone and is very kind and patient.. We love her!Only speedbump is the nasty receptionist at the pediatric desk.. Young brown skinned skinny guy curly fade.. I have complained about that nasty little troll several times with his completely horrendous, unprofessional attitude several times. I dont understand how he works there and Id he shocked if I ever saw him smile or speak kindly to anyone or even look up from playing with his phone... Smh.. The ladies at the kids optical clinic are all great too and my childs glasses turned out wonderful. Excellent phlebotomists as well! :)
Good luck trying to get someone on the phone. If you go in the afternoon, expect a LONG wait. Youll frequently see the same doctors walking back and forth... Makes you wonder if theyre actually doing their job. However, the facility itself is ok. Very colorful, the Disney or Nick Jr. channels are always playing.
This hospital is incompetent. I called to see the childs pediatrician because I saw he had an ear infection. they told me that his doctor was unavailable, they refer me to another place, said doctor, after seeing the child, told me that the child had nothing, I insisted by telling him to see well, she has not seen anything yet. I am not reassuring, I looking the child once at home. the next day, I see that there is a liquid that comes out of his ears, I urge to take him to the emergency room. and there after consultation, the doctors said that the child had a serious infection! while the day before, the doctor told me that the child had nothing, the doctors said to make an appointment with his pediatrician urgently, once at home, I called and insist on seeing Dr. Patricia, the pediatrician. I am fixed the appointment in 3 days because the doctor of the child is not available before! I wait. the day of the appointment, they refer me to another who is not the childs doctor. I complain and I ask to see his pediatrician because the child has a pain. I am told that I should wait until all the patients finish before looking at my son .... do you believe it ??? its just that they do not care about my sons health! I will not come back to these incompetent ones. to believe that I dream, you play with the life of a child of 2 years !!!how is it possible that ryan heaths doctor is not seen in the childs ear? while I myself saw a white paw in the childs ear. a false diagnosis that has aggravated the condition of the child !!!
This facility is so UNPROFESSIONAL it ridiculous and the LACK OF COMMUNICATION is just disgusting. My son have be going here since he was born (2014) and within those years he had 4 different doctors which is crazy. They never communicate when the doctor is leave or anything. They slow as hell & the staff is so unprofessional. If you’re thinking about coming here DON’T!
Tried calling to schedule an appointment all week couldn’t get threw to anyone. And when I finally did the ladies sounded so rude and the call ended saying “Called failed”. They don’t even bother to call you back. This place is really starting to piss me off. Just go to a different clinic with better service if you can.
Impossible to make a appointment. No one answers the phone. I called so many times to make a appointment and did the call back feature on the answer machine and never got a call back. I tried to make a appointment online and they only give me the option to choose a time frame of when I want my appointment to be and they will email you what is available, but I never got a email for that either. To bad Amma have to find a new doctor because Dr. Romas was cool.
Following an ER visit this location neglected to provide a referral for the specialist until two weeks later. After all of the run around chasing the doctor and finally getting the director involved, the doctor address was incorrect, leaving the patient unable to be treated. The specialist cancelled the patients appointment.
Hard to get in contact with anyone and once you do they just hang up on you despite it being in regards to a child with special needs and asthma . It takes them over 3 days to return a call if they do after consistently calling and complain about the issues with my child health .
The whole center is a mess, I will not say everybody some people in there are actually nice and have respect. The people in the front when you get off the elevator always looks mad all the time and annoyed when asking you for you information. Dr. Ramos is very disrespectful with her words she smiles a lot but says disrespectful things out her mouth to try & soften things with smiles. I’m changing my kids doctor and we will not be returning back there ever.
Such amazing staff! I have been going to their women’s health center for almost 5 years and i love it! I’m never there for more than an hour and a half. Such great service and amazing staff and doctors always!
First time visit and the last time. Not recommended for OB-GYN/Reproductive treatment. Much superior options in the City like the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine.
I had Jessie as my nurse for my covid booster and she was WONDERFUL! I am nervous around needles and she made me feel so at ease. Thank you Jessie!
Excellent Pediatrics and OBGYN care amongst other services. Have been a client since 1995 and the have never let me down. Very caring staff and impecable cleanliness. 👍👍👍

Was here last Thursday told me to come back for some tesrs (blood pressure, temperature)and they did the exact same thing as last week ,took a half day of and had to pay a copay just to have the same stuff as last week waste of time and the doctor didnt even come speak to me only the RA very unprofessional

Everytime I call this place they never pick up the phone. It always have a machine saying that they are experience high than normal wait time. There is no available representative, this is frustrating.
I called for my physiology appointment Intake and the social worker told me to wait til Monday for someone to call me back . It’s been a week now going on two nobody wants to help me .

The child had an ear infection, severe pain and hearing loss. They refused to accept the child because the doctors had lunch.
Very good Center, my children have seen each other since they were born and the oldest is now 8 years old.
Two people at the reception on the second floor are very rude when you ask them something or want a new seat 😡they are very rude
This clinic offers very good medical services to the community.
