I initially used Corcell when my son was born in 2001. Last year FamilyCord acquired Corcell and I received the standard letter explaining the change etc. I didnt think it was that big of a deal until I just opened the email with my annual fee due. It went from $99 per year to $150! FamilyCord also encourages paying ahead by 5, 10, 25, or 50 years to receive a slightly reduced charge. Like many people today, money is tight, and yes $50 matters, but the company has you by the balls (and I dont even balls btw) because what option do you have at that point. My son is now turning 18 so Ive already spent a lot, but what a way for take advantage of consumers-guess we all know who is paying for FamilyCords acquiring Corcell. Would NOT recommend this company. I can only hope my sons cord blood is actually being properly stored!
