Dr. Phillips is PHENOMENAL. I am a woman of color, who like so many women of all stripes, has spent years and years going to disappointing PCP and OB/GYN offices. When I became pregnant with my first child, I knew I wanted an OB that had an easy energy, who was also very professional, and someone who was awake about the inequities in our system around black maternal health. I found that in spades with Dr. Phillips. She saw me all throughout my first pregnancy, and literally worked miracles during that first birth. My cervical lip was stuck, I’d been laboring for almost 20 hours at that point, and instead of just sending me to have a cesarean, she sat at the foot of my bed for almost an hour personally massaging my cervix open. She even used oils on my lady bits to prepare me to open and stretch without tearing as much. She was incredibly calm and warm throughout my entire delivery, even when I was writhing on the bed crying. And that entire time I was pregnant with my son, which was during Covid when they weren’t letting husbands or partners in for doctor visits at so many other practices, Dr. Phillips thought it was a no-brainer that my husband had to be there. She always made sure to answer not only my questions, but my husband’s as well. She’s remained my OB since then, and I feel I can talk to her about anything without shame and she doesn’t blink. I have never felt rushed in her office. In fact, sometimes I feel like I’m taking up too much of her time waxing on about this or that, cause she NEVER rushes me. That being said, she runs her own practice. She delivers every baby in her practice. If she ever had to rush me on any day (which she hasn’t) I would actually 100% understand because I know she’s not just hands-on with me, but with all of her patients.Fast forward to my second pregnancy with twins! She never once made me feel worried or carry extra anxiety about having twins at 41. When it approached my time to deliver, she was as on board as I was about setting me up for the vaginal delivery I desired. And when the actual birth came, my first daughter came out vaginally with ease, but then my second daughter got stuck high up in my womb and would not descend. When her heart rate started to plummet, down to 80 from the 150s, Dr. Phillips made the crucial decision that I trusted her to make. She tried a bit longer to get her out—literally her arm up in my uterus—and when the baby STILL wouldn’t turn in a way that she could be pulled down to my cervix, Dr. Phillips quickly pivoted the operating room into an emergency cesarean, and got my daughter out quickly and safely.A couple days later when my son, who she delivered three years earlier, came in to the hospital to meet his little sisters… Dr. Phillips happened to be in my postpartum room checking in on me. When my son came in, what did she do? She paused her assessment to honor the moment of my son meeting his sisters, and quietly whipped out her cell phone to take tons of photos and video of their meeting. Simply put, she’s an amazing woman and an amazing doctor y’all. I am forever grateful it was her at the helm when I brought my three children into the world.

Dr. Phillips and PA Simran are the kindest most knowledgeable health care providers I have ever gone to. I switched gyns from a company that rhymes with diva steve… if you know you know. Anyways, Dr. Phillips is my 4th gyn in the last 10 years. I almost cried tears of joys when I met her and Simran. They took a THOROUGH medical history, and asked me more questions than probably all doctors combined in the past 10 years. The staff is also warm, kind and inviting. You receive several reminders prior to your appointment, and I had no administrative issues in terms of insurance or payment. It was also very easy to schedule (and reschedule) appointments.Blood draw and Pap smear were painless and they called me to discuss results in a timely fashion (you will receive a call even your results are normal, which is how it should be)!THANK YOU DR. PHILLIPS, SIMRAN AND ALL OF THE STAFF AT CALLA WOMEN’S HEALTH!

Dr. Phillips was my OB during my first pregnancy this past year. She was amazing through the entire process. Very smart but also personable and easy to talk to. Her staff is wonderful too. It was so comforting to see her there when I was in the hospital for delivery. I feel very grateful she was a part of my pregnancy journey and I plan to see her as my gynecologist for as long as I can!

So far it’s okay. I’ve been with her for about 3 months and she’s is very knowledgeable but everything in the office you will definitely have to follow up on your own. When I say that I mean documents that you need to be signed and sent to your insurance they take a few days to do. Or even with her sending prescriptions she doesn’t do it right away you have to remind her. I’ll come back after I deliver & give the whole Synopsis. Other then that’s it’s Very clean, she’s on time allllways & staff are nice & personable. I would just recommend having the documents that patients need sent to them within 48hours. I’m kinda nervous on what’s going to happen when I need her to fill out my maternity leave papers.

I truly never know what to expect or have questions prepared beforehand for my doctors visit. I’m also quite shy and awkward. However, I do try my best to do what’s necessary at each visit. I say all that to say, it’s different here. The entire “vibe”/“feeling” is honestly different from any GYN office I’ve been to. I appreciate being seen by a BLACK FEMALE GYN. Offices are notorious for not only rushing you but lacking the ability to disguise that their rushing you.Going back to what I mentioned earlier, though I don’t know what to expect just the fact that my doctor listened to me as I spoke, commented to each point I brought up without a tone of condescension and lastly, was just honest if she wasnt 100% sure what the possibility was or result would be AND doing an ultra sound to check. Honestly, I’m fighting back tears. God really looked out for me on this visit and I hope I’m not jumping the gun by saying this but I’m excited to come back and continue a professional relationship with this practice. I hope others will come and feel the same way. Thank you Calla Women’s health team. God bless.

I am being generous with 1 star this place was a waste of time for me to try and support. Dr call is nice but if you had an Urgent problem that needs immediate attention please seek another provider Ive been dealing with a severe issue where I loose so much blood she is aware of this as well as the severity of my issues and knows I need a hysterectomy and knows Im receiving blood transfusions knows Im out of work trying to get my medical issues resolved ave her scheduling department mylaja to be exact offers a date of 4/15/2023 i would be dead if I waited that long. Horrible treatment . Im not only loosing excessive blood Im in extreme pain ave this woman herself offered a resolution to remain in this state for an additional 2 months. They clearly do not care about there patients or the overall health care. Im very disappointed that I have to find new provider especially dealing with this. Very sad I wanted to support a black owned business but things like this is why you cant always do that.

Been with Dr. Phillips for over a decade (since before she started her own practice) and have had both my pregnancies with her. She’s so amazing, never forgets you, and is a true partner with you during the most impactful experience in your life (pregnancy and child birth). My first was a late preterm birth so for the 2nd pregnancy her and her staff took great care of me and I truly felt that was the reason why I went basically full term 40 weeks. I also had incredibly smooth deliveries both times. She’s a gem and I’m grateful I had her during this time. Can’t speak more highly of her and her team.

Im 6 months into my pregnancy journey and wanted to leave a review now to help others who might be searching for an OB. I cannot recommend Dr Phillips enough! Firstly, the office is clean, always on time, super friendly and just has a really good/positive energy. Both my partner and I feel welcomed and heard when we visit. Ive been seeing Dr Phillips since I was 10 weeks pregnant and appreciate her approach to our experience. She always gives me time to ask questions or chit chat, we never feel rushed and honestly we are often laughing about something (like my partner breaking an unspoken rule of eating tuna in a pregnancy facility 😂). Im new to the US, New York and its my first baby so Im grateful I found someone this great on my first try!

I am being generous with the 1 🌟, this is a horrible representation of medical care! Especially her scheduling department Mylasja! So i WAS a very recent patient with Calla womens health, recent as of 2/9 I started seeing this provider last year with a very severe menstrual issue, the plan was to try an iud but I decided on hysterectomy considering Im menstruating 17 days per month and having to get blood transfusions etc. So of course I had to get on her schedule for procedure. Her scheduling department calls me Mylasja to be specific offers me a date of 4/15/2023🤨 Id be dead by then! This is horrible treatment even after I expressed to this FEMALE what Im dealing with this was her resolution!absolutely inhumane! They clearly do not personalize or genuinely care for there patients. This is a joke! And I will definitely not stop telling other women about this do not waste your time to try and get in with her if you have a serious issue they clearly do not take it seriously! This physician has knowledge of my medical history and her scheduling department would be ok with allowing me to menstruate for that length of time is just very horrible medical treatment! Do not support this place they do not CARE about your health at all only care about the money your insurance pays them!

I’d find another OBGYN. On my first visit, I came in for an annual Pap smear and to discuss an issue with the doctor in late January of this year. By late April, I still had not heard back from the doctor, nor were my results posted on the portal. I then began to call the office and they told me they would post the results of my Pap smear and blood work to the portal, but that never happened. It took many calls, being told I “didn’t have a Pap smear done there” by a receptionist (who ultimately found out that I did), and angry emails before I got my test results and chart emailed to me.I didn’t receive the results until June. It goes without saying how unprofessional and apathetic that is. Even worse, when I did look at the chart emailed to me, it included notes of discussions that I never had with the doctor at the end. Needless to say, I had to start from square one and find another doctor who is responsive, empathetic, and ethical.

Nothing but praise for Dr. Phillips. I was only in her office for a short visit, but in that time, I received warmth, reassurance, and clarity around a difficult issue Im currently dealing with. She explained things and talked to me like a real person. Ive been with multiple OBs/midwives since moving to NYC 5 years ago and have never felt truly listened to or cared for. So happy to have found Dr. Phillips.

I came here a few months back and my experience still haunts me, so I decided to leave a review. Upon entering the office the experience felt promising, but once I got in the room with Dr. Phillips I honestly felt rushed the entire time. She was kind, with a nice enough bedside manner. The main thing that disturbed me was the nurse (while talking ALOT) took 4 containers of my blood for testing, only for the office to call me days later saying that my test results are inconclusive and that I needed to come back so they could take more blood. Needless to say, I felt uncomfortable with that and decided not to go back. Despite never receiving any real lab results, I was still sent a bill from the lab. The Dr. looked at me for maybe 2mins tops. And although I KNEW something was wrong, she proceeded to say she saw nothing. I would not recommend her for someone who is new to NY looking for a doctor or someone who actually has something wrong with them.

Dr. Phillips delivered my daughter in 2019, she helped make it a great experience for me, so it was only right to follow her to her own practice. I had an appointment and I literally was seen at my appointment time (rare). Dr. Phillips was super sweet and very knowledgeable, the visit was short but not rushed in and out so I can go on about my day. I am glad I found her
