Nicole is a super kind, supportive and just an amazing midwife in every way! I never felt uncomfortable asking her anything and she was always reassuring and laid back in her approach.Amber is also very knowledgeable with a more hands-off coaching style, and she is the one who was on call and delivered my baby. I highly recommend either of these midwives!
Unfortunately, once you are classified as high risk the midwives cannot continue to provide their services to you. So, take your chances since pregnancy can swing in any direction at any point. I was expelled at 35 weeks & now a stranger will be delivering my baby. Savannah is caring, grounded, & supportive. Nicole is a great listener, comforting, & intellectual. Amber is encouraging in a military/coach kind of way. It would have been a pleasure to have had any of them deliver my baby. The nurses & receptionists for the last 7 months were helpful & easy to work with. Lauren, the ultrasound tech, is friendly & informative.
I do not recommend the midwives if you’re over 180 pounds. I wound up transferring care halfway through my pregnancy but attended 4 appointments meeting all of the midwives and at every appointment they managed to bring up my weight, I was 215 my very first appointment (5’5 for reference) and 210 the other 3, meaning I was consistently loosing weight in order to try and keep my pregnancy healthy but it was still brought up everytime. My final straw was at my 20 week anatomy scan when they said baby was measuring a week ahead and if he continued to measure ahead I would need an induction or c-section. Not only is it common knowledge that weight measurements can be off, but I assumed being with midwives and “low intervention” that induction/c-section would not be brought up unless medically necessary and a big baby especially at 20 weeks does not constitute that in my opinion. This is also my second pregnancy, and I had a low risk pregnancy my first time, with a healthy baby born at 39 weeks weighing 6lbs 12oz. I did not appreciate the way I was treated, thus I found other care. The only midwife who even discussed my weight in an appropriate manner was Amber, but even then she still managed to bring it up. Only doing 2 stars because front desk staff was amazing, the ultrasound tech Lauren was also amazing, and the nurse who saw me before my appointments, I believe her name was Christine was also amazing. However I am seriously disappointed with the midwives and their treatment of plus sized patients.
So, so grateful for the midwives! After having a pretty traumatic delivery and PP with my first daughter, I knew I wanted differently for my future pregnancies and decided to go with the midwives and couldn’t be more grateful. My labor and delivery with my 2nd daughter was a dream and truly healing for myself. I had rough long patch during my pregnancy due to HG and got the proper help I needed to ensure me and the baby stayed afloat. Amber was there for my labor and delivery and was amazing! I love Savanna and Nicole so much as well if I could have and all 3 of them there- it would have been even better!! They are all so compassionate and caring throughout my whole pregnancy. I believe my experience also helped set me up for a better PP experience too vs my last full term pregnancy. The receptionist, Christina the nurse, and the ultrasound tech have all been nothing but kind and very sweet as well! I will never forget my experience and look forward to the next time I can be with them, come next baby in the future.
The most AMAZING midwives!!!I can’t say enough good things about the midwives at Sacred Heart. I was excited to go to every prenatal appointment because all 3 midwives treated me like a friend rather than a patient. They took the time to get to know me and my family as well as my personal birth plan desires.BIRTH EXPERIENCEAshley was my midwife for the birth of our daughter. It was evident that she took the time to go through my birth plan and In doing so, I was provided the labor and delivery experience of my dreams! I really don’t think I could’ve gotten through it without her and my husband there. Her demeanor and amazing bedside manner made me stay calm and confident throughout the whole process.Another side note. When I first arrived at the hospital, the triage assigned me to a regular labor and delivery room. I asked to be placed in the nesting place bc I desired a birth without any additional medical interventions. The staff reached out to my midwife and next thing you know I was placed in one of the nesting place suites. Ashley then came into the room to see me and saw they placed me in a room without a tub. She knew one of my hopes was to possibly labor in the birthing tub. She talked to the medical staff and requested I be placed in a room with a tub and sure enough…. It happened!! She was always advocating for me and always made sure my requests were being heard.Do NOT believe the negative reviews!!REASON:Part of having a natural birth is to view the whole process as what our bodies were made to do rather than as an illness (being a “patient”) as many OBs view labor and delivery. I read some of the negative google reviews and they couldn’t be father from the truth. It sounds like there are people who want a “natural birth” but yet want medical staff to always be present and to be ready to intervene at a moments notice.Midwives are there to assist but ultimately allow the woman to be in charge of her labor and delivery experience. This is what I received and I couldn’t have been any happier. Ashley was present the entire time while I was delivering our baby girl and gave me supportive advice and suggestions whenever I asked. The atmosphere was so calming that it made me forget I was even in the hospital. I was able to have my support person by my side and share that intimate experience of birthing our child.Thank you Ashley, Amber, and Alyssa (the midwives at Sacred Heart) for everything! If your desire is to have a natural birth with a team of women who truly care about you and your desires… then have your care with the Midwives group at Sacred Heart.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with midwifery group at Sacred! Specifically, Amber—who took care of me prenatally and delivered our baby! I am a first time mom who desired a low intervention/natural birth despite my pregnancy being high risk. Amber and the team always prioritized education in their office which allowed me to make informed decisions about my birth plan. She stayed with me a majority of the time along with my doula (my labor was 34-36 hours long) and encouraged me along the way. I never once felt rushed to make strides during my labor or pressured into any decision. After my baby was born, Amber came to visit me on the postpartum unit and checked on us both. Another midwife from the same group stopped by as well to check in during my stay. I have to give the front desk recognition too because they were always so nice and welcomed me by name. From start to finish I experienced nothing but compassion and quality care. Thank you Sacred Heart Midwives for all you do!
I would give them a 5 star because they made me feel so comfortable and invited into their space, every appointment was personal and didn’t feel like a hospital but maybe my expectations were wrong but during my labor the midwife was only present for the pushing portion and check in like once and hour. I had to move around a lot because the chord less baby monitor wasn’t around for some reason and it was horrible because once I finally got the pain out of my mind they had me move back to the bed and BOOM it started all over again. I was throwing up, shivering, and finally just gave in to the epidural. I just expected more guidance and support leading up to the birth. The nurse that was with me was great though and I still would recommend them but just clarify when they’ll be by your side to support in case your like me.
Our experience with the midwives could not have been better. They really take the time to answer your questions at every visit. I never felt rushed at any of my appointments. Their office is a very comfortable environment and all of the staff knew me by name within a few appointments. If you’re wanting to have an unmedicated birth, the midwives at Sacred Heart are incredible at helping you achieve it. (But even if you’re not planning on unmedicated, they are very supportive either way!) We gave birth to our baby in the low intervention suites and it was a dream. Amber ended up being the one to deliver our baby, and she could not have done a better job at being involved throughout labor but also giving us our space and keeping our environment as distraction free as possible. My husband and I are both so happy with our hospital visit and birth experience!
I cannot recommend the midwives at sacred heart enough! Each and every prenatal visit felt like a visit with a friend. Each midwife took the time to really see how I was doing, I did not feel like “just another patient”, and the visits were personable.I was able to have appointments with all the midwives so when it came time for labor and delivery, I knew each midwife very well! Ashley personally delivered my baby and I was thoroughly impressed! She made me feel at ease through the whole process, which ended up being a very quick 10 minutes of pushing. But she made me feel very comfortable and talked me through every step, letting me know exactly where things were progressing. Her personality and professionalism are unmatched! My ONE AND ONLY QUALM is that I wish I would have had more support during labor. My husband was unable to be there due to needing to stay home with my son. Amber was the midwife on duty during my labor and I only saw her a time or two during the entire night, once was to induce my labor (the student midwife did it and I was not a huge fan of her bedside manner). The nurse on duty was also not very friendly, so I was very scared and felt alone. Essentially, I labored alone with no support, but once shift change happened, Ashley was on shift and was very involved. Another nurse came on shift also who was very nice and made the experience more enjoyable (Eileen I believe her name was).If I could deliver all my babies with the midwives at sacred heart, I’d do it in a heartbeat! You will not regret choosing them for your birth journey.
My husband and I were lucky enough to work with the Sacred Heart Midwives throughout my pregnancy and we welcomed my son into the world last week. Amber and Ashley are both amazing! Throughout my entire pregnancy they were both very informative, evidence-based, and personable. They were able to answer all of my questions each visit without rushing us - they both exhibit the kind of professionalism, knowledge, and empathy that should be present within all healthcare professionals. It is obvious that they both have a passion and calling for what they do. We ended up having Amber deliver our son - when things took a turn during my labor, she stayed extremely calm and collected. It is very likely that if I had not chosen to work with the midwives, I would have ended up having a C-section. We saw Ashley the following day for our postpartum care - she is incredible and made us feel as prepared as possible bringing our little guy home! I will always be grateful for the midwives and would highly recommend them!
The midwives were absolutely amazing! I had such a wonderful experience with Ashley and Amber. They were so caring and really spent time answering any questions at every appointment. They made such a huge impact on my pregnancy and birth and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.I was able to have the birth of my dreams thanks to them. I was always given multiple options on how to move forward throughout my birth and was never told that I had to do something a certain way but given the information and allowed to make my own decisions. The nesting suites were so lovely and comfortable and I loved being able to labor in the tub. I really think that my birth went so well due to how relaxed and comfortable they made me feel.I wish I could give more then 5 stars!!!
After having an annoyingly long medication filled labor for my first (different hospital)- I dreamed of having a homebirth or a low intervention natural labor/birth for my second baby- sacred heart midwifery/nesting place was the closest thing to it & it did NOT disappoint! I got to have my DREAM labor/delivery thanks to my midwife Ashley Baker! I got to the hospital at 5cm dilated with very consistent contractions. This was the ONLY cervical check I ended up having! (so thankful because I didn’t want any during labor but knew they needed to know where I was when I was admitted). I was in the nesting birthing suites for 5 hours after that & it was a dream. No one bothered us. No medications were pushed. No cervical checks were pushed. No one was telling me to do things one way or another… it was perfect. I was so thankful for the padlock and not being constrained to cords. I was also thankful for my nurses using the heartbeat Doppler every 15m instead of making me be constrained. I was laboring EVERYWHERE in that room😂 - tub, shower, floor, bed you name it. LolI trusted my body and I was so thankful my nurses and my midwife also trusted my body enough to just let me do my thing! I’m still on cloud 9 with my labor and delivery story and I truly couldn’t have done it with my midwife team. I delivered at a hospital and didn’t need ANY interventions because everyone trusted that my body knew what to do, because we are built to birth.I will forever refer anyone to see Ashley/Amber because they trusted me, they encouraged me and they gave me what I desired most- a pain free, natural, non medicated labor/delivery!💕
I wish that I could give them 10,000 stars!!!The first time that I called the midwives, I was nervous. I was currently seeing a local OB who wasn’t well mannered, and I was anxious to switch my care. When I called, I was greeted by the sweetest receptionist! The second that I heard her kind voice, all of my worries went away! I immediately knew that this was the right place for me. To this day, I have never met a receptionist so sweet. She put so much love and care into every detail of her job. She truly makes each patience feel so welcome. The midwives were absolutely amazing. At each appointment, I felt like I was talking to a dear friend, who truly cared about me.I want to thank Ashley, for delivering my greatest gift, and for inspiring me through her joy. She lights up every room that she walks into, and no matter what kind of day that I was having, I always left with a smile. In those moments of laborshe was supportive, but also honest in the best way possible. She never pushed opinions, but rather gave professional observations and allowed me as the mother to always decide what I thought was best! Ashley was so kind, and am so proud to say that she helped deliver my baby!During my pregnancy, I came to Sacred Heart with a concern and had to stay overnight. Amber came immediately to check on me, and even came the next morning to check on me again. I will never forget that. The midwives were never “too busy” for anyone under their care. They prioritized each patient, and made them feel so loved.I have told so many of my friends about how wonderful Sacred Heart was to me, and especially the midwives.I often times miss the time that I spent in the hospital. It was such a special time in my life, and I am so happy that I could share those moments with such great people!Thank you for supporting me through the most important moments of my life. I will truly remember all of you forever !Also: If you are reading this, trying to decide where to get care from... I genuinely recommend that you go here. You will receive wonderful care, in a hospital that cares about creating a clean & comfortable environment!
Every time my wife came back home from her appointment she was so happy to talk about how grand her midwives are! Amber and Ashley are phenomenal at what they do!!! Very knowledgeable and experienced. Amber seamlessly handled the entire birthing process from accurately stating to my wife how many pushes she needed to get baby boy out, to calmly and quickly moving the umbilical cord from around his neck, to almost guessing his weight!!! Ashley finished us up with our discharge with practical education and some good laughs! Highly recommend this track for any woman, your in good hands! Coming from a guy, these women are bro’s 😎
Amber & Ashley are kind, empathetic, compassionate individuals. I felt comfortable with both of them and I was glad to have Amber attend my birth. She was patient with me when I declined a cervical exam and made me feel safe when things were happening very quickly. The only thing I would change about my birth environment is that my particular nurse didn’t seem like she approved some of my decisions for a natural birth. However I don’t see that as a reflection of the care I received from the Midwives. Also around 4 weeks postpartum I had some concerns and Ashley made me feel heard and got me a referral for Pelvic floor physical therapy. I gave birth in August which was the month the hospital had a record number of births in one month. Despite how busy they were I never once felt like they rushed me during appointments or my birth.
I truly cannot express the appreciation and gratitude I have for these amazing women! From the front desk to the midwives, everyone in this office are incredible. Amber and Ashley were absolutely amazing with not only me but my daughter as well. I wanted a vbac so we were going for a TOLAC. We stalled around 7cm and I started to feel discouraged but thanks to these amazing ladies, and our fantastic L&D nurses, I did it! We traveled about an hour to these midwives and it was absolutely worth it. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great pregnancy and birthing experience. Thank you both so much for making my wish come true!! I look forward to doing this again with y’all in the future 😆🥰
My wife left a review recently of our experience with the Sacred Heart Midwives but I wanted to leave a brief review from the husband’s perspective. I was a bit skeptical at first at working with anyone but a traditional OBGYN throughout our experience but the Midwives quickly made me realize that I’m so glad we didn’t go that route. Throughout the whole experience, Ashley and Amber were fantastic in giving research and evidence based answers to all of our questions and giving great resources for both of us to refer to during her pregnancy. Amber was on call the weekend that my wife went in to labor and she provided great support during the time that my wife was in labor. She knew our birth plan and really helped us stick as close as possible to that plan. During my wife’s labor, the baby’s heartrate started dropping and, before we knew it, we had several nurses, the OB, and Amber in the room. If it weren’t for going through the midwives and having Amber in the room, there is no doubt that my wife would have had an emergency C-section. With Amber in the room, we were able to avoid the emergency procedure and my wife delivered our son according to our birth plan. In hindsight, I wouldn’t have gone any other way. We really appreciate everything Ashley and Amber did and highly recommend them to anyone else beginning the pregnancy process.
I LOVED my experience with the Midwives Group at Sacred Heart Hospital (SHH). To give you an idea of how much: I started my prenatal care at an OBGYN office five minutes from my house (literally), then, during my third trimester, I transferred care and drove over an hour to the SHH in Pensacola. I was able to have a meet & greet to ask questions and determine if transferring to a midwife would be a better fit for me. It totally was! After my first actual appointment, it was like a weight was lifted from my shoulders. The office environment and their approach to care had a strong relational aspect, so it didn’t feel so clinical. Other reviewers mention that it was like talking with friends, and that was true for me too. Everyone in the office is wonderful! Sundae and Alana were so friendly. The midwives (Ashley, Amber, and Alyssa) were respectful, genuine, and honest; I easily trusted them. Though I don’t really like going to the doctor, I looked forward to my appointments.PRENATAL CARE: The midwives’ approach to care was exactly what I was looking for, as a FTM and as a patient. Everyone in the office made me feel welcome, at ease, cared about, and respected. I did not feel like ‘just another appointment’ or just the body attached to a chart number, because each midwife and the medical assistant took the time to get to know me, educate me, and answer my questions. We even had some laughs! I had the opportunity to meet all three midwives, which was reassuring in preparation for giving birth. My OB experience was the complete opposite, and I knew that birth experience would have been very stressful to say the least.BIRTH EXPERIENCE: My desire was an unmedicated, low intervention birth in the Nesting Place. I was able to labor and deliver there. I’d always envisioned giving birth in an environment like the Nesting Place: comfort/calm meets medical. My husband’s support and the quality of care from the medical team significantly contributed to such a positive birth experience. The nurses were amazing. Amber and a student midwife, Nicole, delivered my baby. Together the whole team was attentive, supportive, encouraging, and gave us space without unnecessary interruptions. They also provided advice and suggestions but never pressured me to do any of them. Bonus: Ashley, Nicole, and Amber came to see us while in recovery.Giving birth is an intimate and special time, and I could not have been happier with my experience with the SHH Midwives Group. Thank you so much!
I’m incredibly thankful for this team at SH. From being greeted by Miss Sundae at the front desk, Christina taking the vitals, then having Amber and Ashley listen and empower at each appointment. Amber’s bedside manner was exactly what I needed during labor as she is so experienced and calm which helped me relax. Hope to work with them again in the future ;)
After delivering my first at Baptist and not loving it, I was so excited to see that Sacred offers this midwife program now and called right away after finding out I was expecting again. The receptionist was super helpful answering all of my questions, and I was pleased to find out she was there throughout the entire pregnancy always at the desk and phone, helpful with questions and scheduling needs. All of the staff there is consistent, and with three midwives you’re able to see their schedule and make sure you can meet them all early on in pregnancy and ask questions and get to know all three. At first I was hesitant about having to be comfortable with whoever was on call, however I enjoyed all three and felt they answered my questions and explained things very well. They spend as much time as needed with you during your appointments and I never felt that they were rushed. I’m glad to have had my dream natural labor. I delivered with Amber and it went really well. Nothing was rushed and I was told my options to speed things up, such as breaking my water, for if I wanted to! I decided not to and had my baby 5ish hours after being admitted. Overall I was fully supported in making my own decisions for labor and delivery. When baby came and needed a little extra attention, it came promptly and some of my “wishes” such as baby going right on my chest had to be overlooked momentarily and I knew, because of the care level, desires are only overlooked when absolutely necessary and for the best of the baby. Everything was communicated really well also. One thing I was surprised about postpartum was how much everyone left me and baby alone to sleep. It was really nice, and I knew if I needed my nurse how to reach her. At Baptist people were in and out constantly. I have nothing but good things to say about the Midwives at Sacred.
I switched to the midwife group at the beginning of my 3rd trimester. The midwives I saw (Amber, Ashley and the midwife student Amber) were so wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. They spent much more time with me during appointments than any doctor. Late in my pregnancy when I had concerns, I was able to call their office after-hours and speak directly with the on call midwife. I ended up having to be induced due to medical concerns so I did not get to stay in a low intervention room during labor and delivery. Amber and the midwife student Amber were on call my entire labor and delivery. They checked in on me often, explained all of my options regarding induction, never tried to force any option on me, and supported me during the entire process. I will never forget their kindness and compassion during a very difficult labor that did not go as planned and when my baby had to be handed to the NICU team directly after birth. They followed up with me multiple times over the next couple of days in the hospital and continued to provide support. I was able to have a 2 week and 6 week postpartum visit, which I have never had with prior deliveries. I would recommend the midwives to anyone. Special thanks again to the Ambers, I’ll always be grateful!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Midwifery Clinic at Ascension Sacred Heart, specifically Amber Price. I switched to the SH midwives later in my pregnancy (about 31 weeks) becasue I was drawn to the low intervention birth suites. Though the suites drew me in, the midwives won me over after our first conversations. From the moment I met Amber and Esther (who has since retired), I felt heard, valued, cared for and understood. During our parental appointments, I was never rushed. We would go over questions/comments/concerns, but then both ladies made an effort to connect on a human level. How important is that?! When you invite someone into your most intimidate moment in life, it’s important to feel a connection. I always felt that I was in such good, compassionate and capable hands.Unfortunately, I had some complications at the end of my pregnancy and had to be induced (during Hurricane Sally, no less!). I had a 28 hour induced labor. I was never, not one time, pressured into additional augmentation. I am a strong believer in informed choice, and Amber and I talked about every possible option of induction and additional augmentation before making any decisions. I cannot effectively communicate how wonderful my birthing experience was, despite giving birth in a literal hurricane. I should add also that I’m doula so my expectations are high— Amber and the SH Midwifery Clinic surpassed every expectation!
I switched to the sacred heart midwives after starting my care with another midwife group as I was looking for a low intervention birthing experience but with the safety net of the hospital for my first baby. This experience was the perfect balance for me. The midwives helped me have a labor with no epidural, which was my goal. The office staff are really friendly and the three midwives I worked with Esther, Alyssa, and Amber were all excellent. I definitely did my homework and advocated for myself throughout my pregnancy so I do think this played a big role in my satisfaction, but I was happy that they were willing to listen and work with me as other medical professionals tend to just tell you what to do. I do recommend having a doula (if your partner is not super involved) for that extra labor support. My only complaint is that the doctor who I saw when I arrived at the hospital labeled me as having hypertension (which I did not) so I was not allowed to be in the low intervention room with the bath tub. I do not fault the midwives for this however. If you are someone who does your research and is looking for providers to support you through your pregnancy and labor, this is the best I have found in the area.
My experience with the Sacred Heart Midwives was just incredible. Amber Price was so caring, understanding, and just amazing. She gave me the gift of having the kind of birth experience I always wanted and I’m super grateful for her. Pensacola is so lucky to have her! All the other staff and nurses I encountered were incredible too. They really were kind and went out of their way for me. Thank you Sacred Heart for everything!
Thank you Amber, Ashley, and all the staff at Ascension Sacred Heart Midwives. My wife recently gave birth to our second child. She has nothing but good things to say about the care provided by her birth team. They were incredibly knowledgeable, kept baby and momma safe, and ensured she retained her autonomy. Our first born was under the care of a different medical group that ultimately left my wife feeling that her desires and birth plan was an inconvenient afterthought. The midwives ensured that things went differently with #2. Hands down it was a better experience. We would highly recommend anyone in search of obstetric care to trust the expertise of the Scared Heart Midwives. You ladies rock!
The midwives at Sacred Heart gave me the autonomy I wanted while ensuring the safety and support of me and my baby!My first birth was with an OB that did not respect my birth plan, and rather ran the show to get my baby out safe, which I am grateful for, of course. I decided to go with the midwives for the birth of my second child and I did not realize how different my births could be under very similar circumstances. With my first, I was inundated with pitocin very quickly and had no choice but to get an epidural (due to exhaustion, I would not have had the energy to push baby out and would most likely have had a csection) My babys head needed to be turned manually by the OB while I pushed the baby out. All in all my first birth experience was not within my control and I felt like just another pregnancy in their practice. With the midwives, I felt welcomed, respected, and safe with each prenatal visit. Upon my 38 week appointment, my ultrasound showed elevated dopplers and Ashley recommended induction. I agreed, as I err on the side of caution due to what I see in my career field. I was given every option to induce labor. They started with cervical ripening agents which worked well, however my labor was inconsistent due to the position of babys head. The same situation occurred this second time as the first, where babys head needed to be manipulated due to my bodys anatomy. Instead of recommending an epidural, I was given multiple different options and not pushed to decide one over the other. My doula and I tried multiple positions to move babys head, and ultimately decided to start low doses of pitocin. Oh how different pitocin was when not at full throttle! With position changes and slowly increasing pitocin, babys head was in position and my body was ready to deliver him. After 40 hours of labor, I pushed for 10 minutes and my baby was in my arms. Not once did I feel like my baby or myself was unsafe or my decisions not respected.I would highly recommend the Sacred Heart midwives for a low intervention birth. They stick to evidenced-based practice while respecting the autonomy of each woman. Thank you Ashley and Amber for a smooth pregnancy and labor!
I came to the midwives group in November 2020 pregnant with my second. I desired an epidural but still wanted a midwife to deliver my child because they are more hands on and proactive during delivery. My prenatal appointments went well and the receptionists and nurses were very nice, however, when I went into labor my care was lacking. My midwife was not present for much of my labor and explained that she was busy going from room to room for other patients. I understand that they get busy at the hospital but before I gave birth I was assured I would have consistent support and this was not the case. Had I known that I would be left alone most the time I would’ve went with a regular OB. I was disappointed at the level of care I received and will not be back for my next child. Upon writing my review, another disturbing fact I saw was that the midwives group had another woman’s post removed and has subsequently posted several fake 5 star reviews. One review specifically has a man in the profile picture and describes his “high risk” pregnancy and labor, and posted a picture of a woman laboring in a bathtub. Any patient of this practice knows that they DO NOT ALLOW high risk pregnancies to give birth in the birthing suite rooms which include the bathtub. So this is obviously a fake review and photo. This is very disturbing to see a corporation trying to shut down women who were actual patients and posting fake reviews in their place. I would never recommend this place to anyone just based off of their dishonesty and scare tactics. Let alone my sub-par care.
Great experience with the midwives at Sacred Heart. Amber and Ashley are the best. I really felt that all my concerns were listened to and my birth experience was exactly what I had hoped for. Thank you!
I gave birth to my second child with the midwives at the end of 2021. My experience was seriously incredible. They took great care of me during my entire pregnancy and encouraged me the whole way. My birth experience was wonderful , thanks to the midwives and the nurses. Couldn’t be more satisfied.
I had the most perfect birth experience with the SH Midwives!I am a VBAC mom - not just any VBAC mom, but one that has large babies 9-10 pounds. I have had 3 births now, ranging from traumatic cesarean to this one, my 2nd VBAC. My 2VBAC was the most perfect story.I fully expected to get to the end of another pregnancy and see providers freak out about a 9/10 pound baby and me going to 41+ weeks. That didnt happen.I was respected in all of my choices. I was given evidence based options. I wasnt fear mongered into whatever they thought was right. I walked into the hospital scared/nervous/anxious to do something I never thought I would do (an induction) and before anyone even touched me, we talked. Then, we talked to a student (3rd time mom, students are good! Fresh faces that arent yet jaded by bad experiences. Let them in!).I started with a cook catheter. Then we went to pitocin and the cc fell out. Then, I labored for a bit and my awesome nurse Taylor made me curious for a check and at 6.5cm we broke my water. After that, things sped way up and just 4 hours later I had a 9 pound, 14 ounce baby boy. It was a true birthday party.I know you cant control everything, but goodness it was so nice for once to have my providers put some emphasis on ME being in control of MY birth story and MY body.Ill be back for #4.Thank you ASHLEY, NICOLE, TAYLOR, MACI, AND DAWN!PS. Definitely bring your own pillow and good GOD these postpartum beds are the most awful thing in the world! Thats literally my only complaint which is not relevant to any care provided whatsoever by ASH Midwives. Five stars!Pps. Dad caught and I got to pull him up to my chest - something else that has never happened!
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse… UPDATED REVIEW:I originally wrote my review for Sacred Heart Midwives on September 28th, 2021 but they had it REMOVED. Apparently they don’t appreciate REAL moms leaving honest reviews about the services they provide, or lack thereof. I will also add that immediately after posting my original review, they added several “5 star reviews” in an attempt to bury my experience with them. It is no coincidence that they had ZERO good reviews as of September 2021 & suddenly several “5 stars” were posted right after my initial review. Check the dates. These reviews were clearly manufactured maliciously to dispute every single one of my claims regarding their practice. One was even written by a MAN who attached a fake birthing photo. I am in the process of reporting this obvious and disgusting act of fraud to Google. Shame on Sacred Heart. This is absolutely despicable, and shows how far they are willing to go to cover up their ugly truth. I am a REAL mom with REAL experiences and I will NOT be bullied or silenced. I was a patient from March-May 2021. The office staff is disorganized and confused me with other patients on multiple occasions, even to the point of calling me to come in for an INDUCTION on a certain date, to which I informed them of their error. My prenatal care was adequate, minus one un-consented “cervical check” that left me with horrible pain & bleeding for a week after. At my final appointment they said they had to induce me THAT day otherwise I could “come back with a dead baby.” These women are hospital employees first & foremost, meaning you are on their schedule and part of THEIR agenda. Their main goal is to get the baby delivered as quickly as possible, regardless of your birth plan & the trauma they cause. These midwives are midwives by credential only. -A TRUE midwife stays with you THROUGHOUT labor and supports you with tools to achieve a NATURAL labor & delivery.- I barely saw mine but a handful of times and that was only when she came in to force me to have another intervention drug or procedure to artificially progress my labor. They refused to let my body progress on its own, only offering to discharge me against medical advice and again threatening me with a “dead baby” & a c-section. They made comments how the doctor in charge would “flip out” if they didn’t speed things up. I received several unwanted drugs and finally a membrane rupture (broke water) against my will, telling me I had no other choice. This was truly traumatizing for a first time mom who desired a natural birth. I was left alone in the room with my husband to labor through raging Pitocin contractions. No laboring tools, support, or coaching were given to me, and they should not advertise as if they provide this. They made several comments about “getting this baby out before our lunch break” to my face. Again, as a first time mom this was unbelievable and completely ruined my experience. My midwife finally appeared when I was almost done pushing and quickly left again as soon as my son was delivered, to go eat her lunch I assume. Haven’t heard from her since, nor have I been back to the practice. I was robbed of my first childbirth experience and traumatized mentally and physically by unwanted medical interventions and lack of support and care. If you are seeking a natural delivery, RUN. GO ELSEWHERE. The midwives/natural birthing practice at Sacred Heart is a facade; an illusion to get business from women who wouldn’t typically choose a hospital birth. You will NOT receive natural birthing support here. It’s a hospital. You are a patient and a number, so expect to be treated as such. It upsets me to write this but I feel compelled to share my experience so that other women aren’t entrapped by this practice. This place cannot even handle an honest review of their services and is trying to silence people…ZERO INTEGRITY. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE WITH YOUR BODY OR YOUR BABY.
I would give this place 10 stars if I could!!! I LOVED having my first baby with the midwives. They took time to really get to know me in the appointments and they were there anytime I needed them throughout an almost 34 hour labor. I couldnt be more happy with my experience with the midwives!
We were so happy with our experience at Sacred Heart Pensacola Midwives! Ashley was the absolute best and I am so happy that I had her by my side! I would give 10 stars if I could.
Every time I visit the office everyone is so nice and attentive. Easy to talk to and very informative! So glad I found the midwives!
If you are a new patient don’t expect to get in quickly. They don’t seem interested in new patients and make them wait 2 weeks or more for appointments
Could not recommend Sacred heart midwives more. They are a wonderful group!❤
All 5 of these stars are for ASHLEY who took care of me when nobody else would.
