IDK how there are any low star reviews for this practice. It is AMAZING. The check-in staff, assistant teams, etc. are all 10 star! I saw Dr. Von Walter and she was so caring during my new patient visit. She took the time to listen to my health issues and really give amazing advice and care. I just moved to the area from Boston and had a lot of anxiety finding new doctors. She is so great and truly demonstrates what doctors should be like! Thank you! You are a Godsend!!
I am immensely grateful to express my sincere appreciation to Dr. Von Walter, Christine Hart Kress, and the entire clinic team who supported me with unwavering patience. My time at the clinic surpassed all expectations, deserving not just a 10-star rating, but exceeding it. Their accommodation in addressing my concerns was truly exceptional. In particular, Dr. Von Walter stands out as my hero. Her dedication and expertise facilitated my surgery, and now, nearly three weeks post-operation, I am experiencing significant improvements in my well-being. To everyone involved, your kindness has left an indelible mark on my heart. Thank you sincerely for your exceptional care and support.
Every time I call here I have been put on hold for 10-15 minutes. I have been given conflicting information from the office staff which has resulted in a lot of wasted time. (We sent the referral ...oh turns out we dont do referrals only recommendations) It is difficult to reach the provider to get any clarifying information. I had to make an appointment 3 months in advance (first available appointment) and when I called to change it a month later they said there was no record of the appointment. If you value your time, go elsewhere.
So happy I found this practice! I have been a patient close to a year now & every appointment I have had had been wonderful. The staff is very friendly & efficient! Had a polyp removal procedure w/ Dr. Hersh. She made me feel very comfortable about the entire process and was so patient, answering all my questions. Today, I met Nurse Practitioner Christine. She was fantastic. Addressed all of my concerns & questions. Front Desk staffers Nina & Emily were very welcoming & accommodating. Nurse Cindy was very sweet & welcoming. I always feel very well cared for at this practice. I have made many follow up calls with questions. They are addressed quickly and with a wealth of information. Highly recommend this practice!!
This practice has gone severely down hill. Wait time on the phone is crazy can never speak to someone at the front desk on the phone. The new NP Pamela Barstow is extremely rude and has terrible bedside manner.
I am so grateful for Dr. Hersh! I now travel over an hour to come to my apartment with her, because I think she is worth it. I’ve also had my adult daughter come to her as she is the only doctor who has explained her issues clearly and all of the options. My daughter finally felt heard and understood the plan set out for her treatment thanks to Dr. Hersh. I am so grateful!
I’ve seen Dr. C. Hersh for almost 30 years. She is the best professional, friendly, care doctor that anyone would wish for. I’m lucky to have Dr. Hersh care for me before I got married, during my pregnancy, delivered my baby, and now she also takes care me and my daughter. She has the wonderful-friendly nurse Christine whom I depend on, excellent nurse. Check them out for yourself if you need a GYN doctor.
I have been coming to Virginia’s Women Health for years and absolutely loved my provider, Dr. Swanson.Unfortunately Dr. Swanson went to Kaiser last year so today was my first appointment with a new provider, NP Christine. NP Christine was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and an absolute delight. I also had a wonderful experience with everyone from the front desk staff, the tech who took my vitals, and the phlebotomist. And I was called back to a room promptly at my appointment time - no waiting!
I was desperate to see a gynecologist and could not get anyone to see me on short notice. I had called the office and was told there were no appointments. Minnie called me back 5 minutes later letting me know there was a cancellation and was able to fit me in for the next day. I am so happy that she did as I was really worried about my health and she even greeted me this morning and expressed her happiness that I was able to make it. My experience with the nurses and the Nurse Practitioner were absolutely delightful and they were very informative and put my mind at ease. I will most definitely be coming here for my future GYN check-ups and needs.
I love Dr. Hersh and the staff at Virginia Womens Health Associations! Friendly nurses, medical assistants, lab tech, and front desk. The office is also clean!!!
I highly recommend VWHA. Dr Hersh has been my doctor for 25+ years. She is principled, ethical, wise, and thorough. She will take good care of you. Nurses there are kind and know what they are doing. I’ve also seen Dr Walter who is new - liked her and was impressed. It’s a busy office like all doc offices so be patient. The office staff are hard working, patient and on top of things.
I am SO grateful for Dr Hersh, Christine Hart Kress and the rest of the VA Womens Health team. Christine was fantastic in quickly assessing my situation & Dr Hersh was AMAZING with my preop, Surgery and post op. I am so happy I found their practice.
Ive been a patient for a year and continue to be impressed by both the level of care and professional service provided by Virginia Womens Health Associates. Both Dr. Hersh and Dr. Hart Kress have provide excellent care. They are extremely friendly, make me feel comfortable at all times, and always make time to answer any questions. I highly recommend this practice.
I have been going to this practice for a long time and I’ve always had a good experience. It’s very clean and organized which I can appreciate. My annual appointments are very quick, the longest part about them is waiting for the doctor. Super happy with this practice!
I read all the reviews about Dr. Hersh before making my first appointment with her in October of 2022. Here is what I will say. Her personality may not be everyones cup of tea, but she is an OUTSTANDING physician. She took time to educate me on what was going on inside my body, answered all my questions, and at the end of the appointment I had what I needed to make a decision about what was right for me. Leading up to surgery, same experience. Post surgery, I had no surprises, except for how quickly I recovered. Dr. Hersh performed a total hysterectomy on me 2/10/23. I didnt need any prescription pain medication following the surgery and I returned to work after one week of recovery. I would highly recommend her and feel grateful that my research connected me with her. When it comes to my doctors, I want the best and I truly believe she is.
From everything Ive heard they used to be really good. However, that isnt the experience that I have had. We had some fertility testing done and it took a good month and so many calls back and forth to get the documentation over to this office, that could easily have been on the other end as well as their own office so I let it go. However, they called while I was at work a week or so later to give me the results of our tests. There was no gentleness, it was effectively We cant help you, you should probably just find a specialist. I messaged and left voice mails later trying to get some clarification but they never got back to me. A couple days ago I went in for an appointment that I scheduled six months ago, only to find that it had been cancelled. The RN I had been seeing had left the practice, they did notify me, but I assumed that my appointment, still a month and a half out would be reassigned (as it had been in similar situations at other offices). I drove 35 minutes, and took time off work, for absolutely nothing. I dont have any more leave left so I guess I will just wait until the year is over and find somewhere else.
Dr. Hersh and staff are amazing! I never felt rushed and all of my questions were answered. She is gentle, caring, and willing to take the time to ask questions and provide additional information, as well.
Dr. Hersh is awesome! She is very thorough, patient and you do not feel rushed during your appointment. The staff and nurses are great. I highly recommend VMHA.
I went to Dr. Hersh for a second opinion regarding difficult-to-diagnose pelvic pain. Despite several reasons it was unlikely to be caused by endometriosis, Dr. Hersh walked in the door before even speaking to me with her mind made up. She didnt spend any time going through options or diagnostics, just immediately demanded to know whether I wanted a) an expensive drug or b) a new IUD. I felt pressured to join the clinical study she was involved with to get access to the expensive drug. Then eventually she ordered an MRI which indicated no endometriosis, but yes PCOS. During the appointment to discuss the MRI results, she interrupted me so she could explain things I already knew about endometriosis; she utterly failed to bring up the MRI results until I reminded her; and then she continued to offer me zero treatment options or discussion other than expensive drug and new IUD. When I brought up minor weight gain, she immediately launched into an unwelcome discussion of fad diets, food journaling, and weight loss drugs without even thinking to ask about any history of disordered eating. Then Dr. Hersh told me no one would treat [me]! if I wasnt willing to keep a food diary. She seemed FAR more enthusiastic about giving dieting advice than about actually treating my gynecological issues. I will never go back here again.Margaret King, NP is a dear, though.
Dr. Von Walter was quick, but also had lots of great advice. She was caring, intelligent, and efficient.
Dr. Hersh and the entire team at Virginia Womens Health are wonderful! Dr. Hersh has tremendous experience with womens gyn health issues, regardless of the age group you are in. She, and her entire staff, are professional, kind, compassionate and efficient. I would give them my highest recommendation.
The employees of the practice are nice. The worst part about dealing with them is simply trying to get a hold of them. The phone hold time is minimum 5 minutes, usually closer to 15. Theyve cancelled appointments via voicemail and then are impossible to get a hold of to make a new appointment. By the way for your own security, you can leave the SSN portion of any paperwork blank.
DO NOT GO HERE. This place used to be good when they had doctors who worked there full time. Since COVID they’ve lost all their people and have yet to get people to work there. Last year my appt was rescheduled 5 times because they never had any doctors working. This year they tried to deny me refills to my medicine to make it to my annual appointment. They wanted me to go two months with no medicine because the receptionist claimed “it’s new policy” it sounded like someone just didn’t want me to have birth control because of their religious views. After 30 minutes of waiting and arguing I talked to someone higher up and they did in fact get me more refills to tide me over to my appointment. So, if you book here expect to never have the same doctor, expect your appt to be cancelled multiple times, expect issues with your medication, and expect inexperienced and incompetent staff. If you can you should drive to Salem or Roanoke.
This practice made me feel like trying to exhaust my final options for debilitating chronic bleeding and pain and organ dysfunction was a privilege i did not deserve. my initial appointment with dr hersh was several month waitlist, which i expected, but she completely mislead me about the treatment timeline. when the office scheduling system made a mistake, I was told that my follow up to schedule my surgery would be post poned until august. that will mean i will have spent 10 months waiting to even ask for someone to cut me open. 2 years of bleeding and pain and unemployment. for the practice manager to tell me that its my own fault.this was my last chance to try to ask for help. i dont know what else to do. they made sure i didnt feel worth being here anymore, and made a very explicit point to make me believe it was no ones fault but my own that I was suffering for so long.
I have gone to this practice for 12 years. Everyone I have seen has been very thorough and kind, explaining all the information, options and takes the time to listen. Receptionists are very helpful and nice. I highly recommend this office.
Christine Hart Kress is an exceptional practitioner. She really listens and understands—and she is the most thorough health care provider I’ve encountered in eons!
I love Dr.Hersh! She is a wonderful doctor explains everything in detail and makes you feel comfortable for any procedure or visit.Everyone in the office makes you feel welcome and are always helpful. I love this practice!
I’ve been going to this office since I was 18 years old. I’m 29 and I don’t plan on changing that anytime soon! I’ve seen every physician at this practice and they are all amazing. Amy Rembold has been my primary PA since I first became a patient and she’s amazing. Everyone is very welcoming, knowledgeable, and non judgmental. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for an OB in the area!
Terrible when you have a problem and the nurse has 24 hours to call you back and then they want to see you before giving you a prescription for something they already diagnosed you with. My last 2 providers have left and now I know why. Find another office that cares about healing you quickly.
Dr.Hersh is always professional kind and friendly. I’m always comfortable with her. She is caring and takes the time necessary regarding the issue at hand.
No matter the quality of the doctor, a patient spends more time dealing with office staff and nurses and the quality of care is always reflected in the care you receive from them. While Dr. Hershs interactions with me have always been thorough, knowledgeable and helpful, she and her practice are not well served by a nursing and front desk staff that cannot manage details of appointments, prescriptions or follow up care. Something that should be a routine interaction with a OBGYN office should not take 2 months to resolve.
I have been a patient at this practice since 2015 as a gynecological patient. From dysmenorrhea to perimenopause and suspicious findings, they use the latest science, compassion, and common sense to treat my current and past issues.
I was stuck seeing Camilla C. Hersh for a pap smear in February 2021 because my regular OBGYN was not seeing patients for routine care - only emergencies. It was my first and only appointment with VA Health Associates. Not only did Dr. Hersh complain and make negative comments about my body, she spent the majority of the appointment talking about lap band surgery and provided a referral I didnt ask for. She used medical gaslighting to traumatize me to this day. She should have her license revoked for overstepping her bounds.
By far, the best OBGYN practice in VA, and in the United States for that matter. I have been a patient at this practice for 3 years and am so thankful for the treatment I have received through two pregnancies and other annual check-ups. Dr. Hersh is so knowledgeable and extremely professional. At the same time, she is able to provide such a personal experience! I was so thankful to have her deliver my second child! Amy is the NP and is one of the greatest people I have met in my life! She cares so greatly for her patients and their families. Having children was a scary experience for me, but the staff at VA Womens Health got me through it twice and are now like family to me. I HIGHLY recommend any woman to go to this practice!!!
New patient/first impression:Clean, nice and pleasant waiting area.Friendly, helpful and efficient staff.Check-in process is straightforward and easy. However, the wait is very long. It was 15-20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time that I decided to check on the status. I was told that the doctor was running behind schedule, and it might take 20 or more minutes before I would be seen. I ended up leaving as I avoid dealing with medical offices with lack of transparency into their scheduling, and lack of respect for their patients time.
After reading some of the reviews on here, I felt I like needed to add my own.If youre looking for a practice with extremely knowledgeable doctors, and welcoming staff, this is for you. I visited the practice for a routine wellness check, but also because my husband and I are getting ready to start a family. While my expectation was that I would mention us thinking about starting a family, and having it brushed under the rug, I was pleasantly surprised! My doctor spent about 15 minutes just educating me (without talking down to me) on everything a woman wants to know about pregnancies. From preparing mentally, to how to have a healthy pregnancy.I loved the explanation she gave, it may seem like I am giving you too much information, but our practice is Pro Life, and therefore we want our patients to be as educated as possible when preparing to start a family. Having had such a positive experience with the staff and my doctor, I am really looking forward to working with her when we get pregnant!!Also, I might add, while some of the reviews elude to a specific doctor with terrible bedside manner, FYI, shes no longer with them, so dont let that deter you.
My review is overarching for the whole practice and that is why I chose 3 stars as opposed to a lower rating. There is one experience that is making my rating low: the circumcision performed on my second son.Foster is a nice enough doctor. Her personality is not the issue. She was not my main doctor nor did she deliver my children. She performed my second sons circumcision. If she’s the on call doctor when your son is due for his circumcision, I would 100% tell them you don’t want her to do it.I understand that she didn’t go to school to perform circumcisions (I think it’s ridiculous that the OB does them in the first place) but still, it is one of her responsibilities now and she needs to get better. Another doctor at the practice performed my first sons circumcision and it was done perfectly. My son just had his circumcision revision completed at 11 months. It looks great, what a circumcision should look like. And now we won’t have any issues with adhesions or other things that arise from a poor circumcision (or for that matter, no circumcision at all). HOWEVER, it cost us 3k. Now, I am so happy that my son won’t have issues in the future but this could have been avoided altogether by having an adept doctor perform his circumcision in the first place.Honestly, I wish I could sue for the 3k considering I PAID for a circumcision the first time around. But alas, they make you sign something that basically relieves the doctor of liability. It’s ridiculous. And I’m just beyond annoyed that I had to pay again AND also that I had to put my 11 month old son through surgery.Anayway, long story short, don’t allow Foster to conduct your sons circumcision.
Wonderful experience from start to finish. The doctors and nurses are knowledgable, professional, gracious and Informative…they were so patient and kind, helping to relieve much of the anxiety associated with a first-time pregnancy.Dr. Hersh has phenomenal bedside mannor, and unsurpassed surgical Precision... ( there is basically no visible scaring from my scheduled cesarean.) Her circumcision and stitches were executed perfectly with no issues. I would highly recommend!
I dont usually write reviews, but the experiences Ive had at VA Womens Health have forced me to try to make sure no one else has to go through it.My first visit was just the doctor reading over a report my family practice doctor had sent over. I got Dr. Morales, because shes newest and therefore most available (which is blatantly untrue). Dr. Morales was very nice, and made me feel comfortable...when she was in the room with me. She left the room, mid-explanation, TWICE, to take phone calls from the hospital. And this was after I had waited 30 minutes in the waiting room and 10 in the actual holding room.Despite that, I made my appointment for the procedure I needed. I arrived on time, and waited about 30 minutes before I was called back. I then proceeded to wait, half-naked, for OVER AN HOUR, for Dr. Morales to show up. The nurse updated me twice; apparently Dr. Morales had a delivery. Finally, they got Dr. Hirsch to come and do the procedure, which she clearly was not happy to have to do. She was rough and quick, which made the procedure about 10x worse than it needed to be. When I got out to the receptionist area to make my follow up appointment, the receptionist acted put out that I was there, basically ignored me until she needed something from me, and spoke in monotone the whole time. Oh and Dr. Morales passed me on my way out - she was on her way in. She didnt recognize me.After that I knew I wouldnt be using VA Womens Health anymore, but thought I should return to get my results. I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes, before a nurse came out to tell us Dr. Morales was running 40 minutes behind. Everyone else in the waiting room (even people who came in well after me) were taken back before I was - I assume the had one of the other doctors. When I finally did get called back, the nurse (who was very nice and apologetic, I knew it wasnt her fault) told me Dr. Morales was with a patient that had issues so it might be a while longer. I told her that I wouldnt wait; I have to take off work for these and literally just wasted two hours (travel and wait time) and so I asked for my test results and left. The nurse told me Dr. Morales would call me to explain and set up a follow-up visit, but believe me, there will be no more visits to VA Womens Health, no thank you.If you like long wait times, rude receptionists, and doctors who are always at the hospital delivering, then this is the practice for you!
Dr. Hersh delivered my baby boy, and although it was a LONG process(almost 24 hours), she patiently walked my husband and I through all the different scenarios. Many times during the laboring process, my baby seemed to be struggling, and she remained calmed and pulled out at all the stops, using her many, many years of expertise, so that we could avoid having to perform a C-section if at all possible. I had expressed to her that I would like to try to delivery vaginally, and that I really wanted to try to avoid a C-section, and she did everything in her power to make that happen. If the baby began to struggle, she would gently remind me that my babys well being was the priority, and that we would move forward with a C-section if his health was a risk, but she was NEVER pushy about it. As many of you women with children know, after hours of laboring and pushing, many Obstetricians will opt for the easy way out, and C-section babies so that they can make it home to dinner. Dr. Hersh was quite the opposite! She stayed at the hospital, checking in on me frequently over a 24 hour period, and coached my husband and I the entire way! She was very compassionate, and gentle, and made the process of bringing my son into the world such a warm and wonderful experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Hersh, and her wonderful staff to all my close friends and family members.
Ive been very happy with the doctors here. I first went just for regular gynocological visits, then used them when I was pregnant with my first child. I have nothing bad to say about them, Ive had good experiences. They were supportive of me doing a natural birth, and are friendly and dont make you feel rushed when youre in an appointment. Ive seen all the doctors, and liked them all.
Ive been seeing Dr. Swanson for a few years and shes fantastic. Really patient and knowledgeable. Ive also seen Dr. Foster and like her too. Its pretty easy to make appointments. Ive only ever had two issues in several years: once is when they changed my appt to the Annandale location but didnt tell me until the day before, and once when my husband and I were waiting for 20 minutes in the examination room for a nurse to bring us something. So far so good! if you are looking for a good OB/GYN practice, I would recommend VMHA!
I will give an updated review at a later date since today was my first visit. My experience today was very good! I saw Dr. Zaret, and will continue to see her. She spent a very long time with me, going over everything and answering any questions that I had. She is extremely knowledgeable, has a fabulous bedside manner, and I was very happy with her and feel she is a physician who can be trusted and relied on. I wont be dreading my annual exams so much anymore!
I had the pleasure of finding this practice, I was unhappy with my current Doctor and this practice was a breath of fresh air. The staff is super helpful and the doctor was amazing! She took her time and listened to all my concerns and thoughts. This kind of doctor, I can only imagine has their hands full but I felt like I had her whole attention, and I am VERY HIGH maintenance, yes I can admit it! I am happy to have found my practice and doctor for years to come!
I’ve been seen at this practice for years and all of the staff and practitioners have been so wonderful. They’re always patient, attentive, professional, and helpful. I recommend them to anyone!
I called when I was 32 weeks pregnant asking to see a doctor there because I was uncomfortable with mine and VA womens came recommended. I was told I need to submit my records so I did on the same day. I was told they would need at least a week to review the records however, I was hoping there would be some urgency because of how far along I was in my pregnancy and at this point I would need to see a provider every 2 weeks. I contacted the office 3 days later to see if there were any updates. I was told they would need a full week and could not give me any more information. I was contact a few days after and a message was left saying a doctor had reviewed my records and to give them a call back. When I called back the person that handles these matters was not there and would not be there until 3 days later. The receptionist could not schedule an appointment for me because there were no notes in their system as to what step in the process I was at. I am going to be 34 weeks in two days and I basically told them to forget about it. The reception area was not very welcoming or compassionate any time I called and I could not get answers. If their were no notes about where I was in the process, they didnt seem any better than my doctors office who lost my records that were hand delivered to them which they failed to mention until three months later. I would stay away from OB/GYNs in the Reston Care system
The worst experience ever. Front desk staff runs the roost. Doubt the doctors even know what they’re up to. Office policy is that all new patients must have records sent over before they make ANY appointments. Ok, so I did this. Then, they said the doctor had to review it before I could make an appointment. 5 days and many check in calls later, another front office staff member called to say that the doctor wouldn’t not be accepting me as a patient. When I asked why, they said they weren’t allowed to disclose the info, that I’d have to speak to the office manager. I went to pick up all the records and asked to speak to the office manager. When the office manager heard my name, she ducked out so she wouldn’t have to talk to me. Unbelievable. What kind of customer service is this????? Doctors, do you know this is going on with your staff at the front? Humorously, I had already made an appointment at another OBGYN before they called to tell me that they wouldn’t be taking me. I bet the office manager didn’t even pass along the records to the doctors, instead making the decision herself. I ask again.... what doctor turns away business??? Avoid this place at all costs. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.
Great experience with Dr. von Walter. She was attentive and empathetic to my concerns. Looking forward to continuing my care with her.
Renee Morales was the worst physician Ive seen....all specialties included. She left the room twice during my visit, once in the middle of a question and on her way out she said I have people in labor and dont have time for this. To say she was rude is putting it lightly. I came in for what she called a problem visit, meaning it wasnt an annual check-up. While I was there I asked her to do a routine screening, to which she argued with me and said she couldnt because I wasnt there for an annual visit. I held my ground with her and refused to schedule second appointment to come in for yet another visit to bill my insurance company when all could be done that day. In addition to her horrific bedside manner, I also question her knowledge base. Not only will I NEVER see Dr. Morales again, I refuse to see the other physicians in the same practice as I question the owners judgment in adding her to the group. From the moment she walked in the door I could tell we were going to have issues, and I surely cant be the first patient she treated with complete disrespect. I would not let Renee touch me again if she were the last doctor on the planet.
Staff were phenomenal. Super thorough, organized and welcoming!
Went to see Dr. Hersh and felt like a cadaver. She showed little to no care for the health issues I was having and was rough as she did an exam. She left no time for questions and rushed out the door.I was equally as displease with the staff. I took DAYS to finally get in touch with the nurses and they were unhelpful. All of my files (not many, only had one visit) were mixed up and they were clueless as to what to do next. Then when trying to get my medical records sent to a new doctor, they charge a fee and it takes up to a week.Every time I called the office I would be placed on hold for an extended period of time before someone was able to speak with me.I would not recommend this office to anyone. Ever.
Dr Hersh is the best of the best. She may be busy but she gave me her support, expert opinion, and advise when I was suffering from endometriosis. She listened to me, heard me out, and gave me multiple options and treatment plans so that I knew what I was getting myself into. My previous ob gyn did not believe that I was in pain and told me it could be fixed with 3 Advils every 6 hours. I suffered for 2 years before finally deciding the pain I was going through was not normal. I researched Dr Hersh on my own after being recommended to her by a friend of mine. When I met her, I knew I had found my ob-gyn. When we finally decided surgery was my next best option since our treatment plan did not resolve the issue and I was facing constant pain and cramps. She was there for me every step of the way, and I honestly cannot thank her enough.
I have been going to VA Womens Health for seven years, the first doctor i was seeing retired so i was moved over to Dr. Hersh. She has been a great doctor over the past seven years and answers all of my questions and takes the time to make sure i am ok. She has answered all of my questions about the medications i take and how that can interfere with trying to conceive, the time it was taking and any issues and how to deal with them. All of the staff there have been very nice and understanding. When given instructions on what to do and feeling overwhelmed it was explained again and Christine the nurse wrote out instructions (cheat sheet) for me so i would remember what i needed to do. Also they were very prompt in returning a phone call for results and explaining it to me over the phone then faxing the documents to me right away so i had a copy of them. I am not sure why other people are having problems but i have never had a bad experience there. They all are great.
They charge $50 if you want to contact your doctor after 4:30.They are probably a fine gyno if you are not currently working/ have a comfortable income.. but they do very little to accommodate or provide access to those for whom money is tight and who cannot take off work.At My last visit the doctor wrote the wrong prescription, and in trying to correct it later over the phone they tried to charge me $50. During that visit they didn’t get enough cells and are making me come back in to redo the very fun pap process. As someone who is working full time and In school in the evenings, this office is proving to not be flexible, convenient, or satisfactory at the services that they claim to provide. The individual staff members are polite, but the overall structure and policies of the office do not cultivate and environment that shows customer service. If accessibility and customer service are important to you- I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Swanson since September of 2018 after moving to the area. Since my wife is now pregnant we have been seen by most of the physicians in the office and they are all extremely nice and knowledgeable.I have, however, had a problem with billing for one of our visits, and due to some bad reviews from other patients I was anxious as I approached to resolve it. Indeed, when I called the call center they contract to solve these issues, the employee there was rude and not helpful! That prompted me to visit their Reston office. That is where I met Shamees (I hope I have her name correctly spelled) who was extremely kind and caring. She personally took care of me and investigated the matter and took her time doing so. Mind you the matter is not resolved yet nontheless, I must thank her and her colleague sitting on the computer for investigating the matter and hopefully it will be resolved soon!
Great staff. Informative, not rushed, knowledgeable.
Dr. Zaret is just the best. After a year and a half of bad advice from my last Ob/Gyn and other surgeons concerning my recently diagnosed endometriosis, I finally feel like I am getting the proper treatment and care everyone deserves. What a sigh of relief. Very easy to get appoints with. Short wait time. Very friendly and helpful staff, including the nurses.
The attending Nurse and Dr. Astrid Walter was really nice ! Dr. Explained everything I needed to know. Great front office as well.
Ive been using VWHA as my regular gyn for a few years now and have never had any of the negative experiences other reviewers describe, though maybe thats because Im a bit lower maintenance. All I ever need is my annual and a refill on my contraceptives. The staff has always been prompt and pleasant, they have even made me laugh. I always see Amy Rembold, though Dr.Hershs name is the one on my RX. Amy is wonderful, very gentle, good listener and genuinely nice, I actually look forward to seeing her despite the uncomfortable nature of the visit.
Set the apt up 3 weeks in advance and when I showed up they told me they had to cancel my apt on the spot. first that the doctor was sick then changed the excuse when I got upset and told me that her grandmother actually passed away so i wasnt able to see anyone. They apparently have only 1 doctor on site. Worst office ever, I should have listened to the reviews online. Dont waste your time even setting up an apt.
I love this place. Service is so quick; no overly long wait for me to be seen, especially if you complete your paperwork before coming in. The staff was so nice, from the front desk to the nurses to the doctors. I saw Dr. Swanson and shes an amazing doctor who knows exactly what shes doing. Highly recommend this place.
Minnie and Shamice are awesome. They accommodated my appointment reschedules. Thank you ladies for working so hard 🤎
Waited an hour for my appointment while all the nurses/front desk were laughing and goofing off. Not to mention felt rushed by the nurse when I was actually seen an hour later. And why is the waiting room 85°?? Beats me. The actual doctors are nice and concerned but the place is run by morons
The nurses absolute dont know what theyre doing. You say cvs, they send your prescriptions to rite aid. Also, results not being high priority means they wont call you for weeks and you have to call them to figure out whats going on. Really great stuff and real sarcasism from the nurses when you genuinely are concerned about yourself.
Most pleasant visit to the gynecologist Ive ever had! The team is both professional and caring.
I was really nervous going in today. Dr. Von Walter is extremely knowledgeable and she made me feel much better.
I was 8 weeks pregnant and over the weekend I suspected I lost my baby. I desperately wanted to see someone. I called this place Monday morning, explained my situation, asked to be seen sometime that day. All they said was were booked and argued with/reprimanded me for not going to the ER (which I explained why I did not go). Who does that to a woman who thinks she lost her baby?! They had no care or compassion and absolutely no desire to help. Its unacceptable. I am so glad I found and went to Dr. Khans All Female OBGYN in Centreville.
ALWAYS a long wait. Be prepared to sit for at least 30-60 minutes after appointment time.
The person who helped me to check in yesterday was really nice & helpful. She is so patient, respectful & kind.
Polite, friendly staff. Needed a same day appt and it was east to schedule. Christine Rn Pa was great
Dr. Zaret is fantastic, super personable and always makes sure I have all my questions answered. She is new so most will go for Dr. Hersh but I both prefer Dr. Zaret and found it easier to get appointments with her!
Great experience here! Highly recommend. Grateful to Dr. Hersh and her team.
I have had a couple scheduling issues in the past, but I will come back for Amy, the doctor, who I honestly recommend to any & everyone. Do you have a lady doctor? Is she amazing? No? Then you should go to see Amy B. at Virginia Womens Health.
Really impressed with the practice. They listen, and are thorough in assessing issues. Really appreciate the care
Great when youre in the office and they get paid, but when you call with an urgent question and need OBGYN guidance they will pass the buck to your primary and then not call you back. Thanks for nothin!
Dr Camila Hersh is fantastic l
I made an appointment and arrived and they said they had no appointment scheduled on the calendar. There was no apology for it and they had no room for me that day. I cannot make any other weekday because of my job. I am going someplace else.
Cindy : my MA, Christine and front desk pleasant and a breathe of fresh air and great medical etiquette
Dr. Hersh is a Professional, Nurses are nice, All Staff provide you with a great experience. Highly Recommended.
Christine and Dr Hersh always treat you as if you were their only patient.
The Doctors and providers are great but the LMG patient portal is horrible.
Great service. Kind employees. Caring doctors, NPs and nurses. Thank you!
I have been a patient for over 20 years. Dr. Camilla Hersh is an amazingly gifted OBGYN.
Amazing staff very patient and will listen to your concerns.
In a digital world, the website should be accurate. You should have automated reminders. I dont have time to waste because the front of house cant keep organized.
Dr Hersh is attentive, brilliant and super caring!
I hate this office. Ive waited over an hour multiple visits, had an IUD incorrectly inserted and been forced to come in for unnecessary visits. DO NOT GO HERE.
Dr Hersch was very engaging and informative.
I LOVE Dr. Hersh, Christine, her nurse and others who work there! Awesome!
I highly recommend VWHA. Christine Hart Kress
They are great! Been coming to them for years. They always answer my questions and concerns fast.
The staff is very nice and providers are helpful!
RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Look at the reviews on Yelp.. Enough said.
Always a pleasant visit
Stay far away from this terrible practice
Wonderful experience
Doctor and the staff was so good
In 2020 I started going for my prenatal check-up. It should be noted that I started going to this practice in 2019 and everything was wonderful. I almost never waited to be treated, excellent doctors, in short a wonder. Yesterday was my prenatal appointment (bb#2) and I was surprised that the almost only obstetrician left is going to leave the practice very soon and that if your delivery is after October that you should look for a new doctor because They are not going to offer that service for a while. That shocked me because how is it possible for a practice to run out of qualified doctors, for the service to be terrible, and for you to have to wait 45 minutes to be seen? Not to mention that they dont call to give you the results of your blood tests and if they do they call you more than 1 week later.
