I don’t love going in for these sorts of exams but they made it easier for me! Staff are amazing, patient, understanding and kind, I will be coming back for any of my women’s healthcare needs! It’s easy to schedule an appointment online.
Was able to make a next-day appt when I discovered something concerning. Staff was kind, helpful, and timely. Everyone was supportive and gave me the time and space I needed to make decisions - Karen, especially, was awesome!
Extremely good care, very clean, very orderly, conveniently located, staff were all very nice, waiting room is surprisingly comfy. Planned Parenthood is my go-to for trans healthcare, and they excel at it. My only complaint is the parking situation at this particular location is a little bit confusing, but I might just be an idiot. Pro tip: You have to exit through the OTHER gate of the parking lot using the code. I stupidly thought I could exit the same way I came in and was quickly disabused of that notion. Security very kindly helped and showed my dumb self how to leave. But thats purely embarrassing for me only. They themselves were wonderful.
So, Ive had a few issues before, but generally, the staff is pretty nice. I don’t mind the area as it’s close to where I live. The providers are polite and helpful, and the staff is friendly. However, slowly but surely over the last two or three years, it’s become more and more difficult to get simple things done, like scheduling appointments or requesting medication extensions. I ran out of my medication two weeks ago and have been calling twice a day every day for the last two weeks, but no one answers, and my voicemails go unanswered.Today, after two weeks of trying, I finally got through only for the receptionist to be less than friendly, adding to my frustration. When I asked why I hadnt been able to reach them and voiced my concerns about not getting a response to my voicemails, she tried to give me the runaround, suggesting I havent waited long enough on the phone. I explained that I stay on the line until the wait time expires and then leave a voicemail, yet no one responds. Her response was, “How about you come in on your appointment day and complain to your provider.” 😤😮💨 Honestly, I dont care, as long as I get my medication. I understand she deals with irritated people, but my irritation didnt have to be there in the first place. This is a healthcare provider, and when people call, its important. Nobody calls just for fun, and after two weeks of no response, frustration is inevitable. One star; I hope customer service improves.
I had a great experience visiting for a birth control appointment! Aside from a little wait (it was pretty busy), I was comforted by how pleasant everyone I encountered on staff was and how clean and open the space was! Would definitely make another appointment in the future.
2 bad experiences a year apart. I tried really hard to like this office because I advocate for planned parenthood alot and love what they stand for but the customer service is just horrible all around including with the actual doctor that I saw. Worst experience of my life. Did not take me serious about me suspecting I had PMDD. Had to go to a different facility for a 2nd opinion that was confirmed I do in fact have it and we are working on solutions. And This office will cancel your appointments with no availability to reschedule you.
Making an appointment was super simple & I was in and out within an hour. The caregivers were very kind and attentive.
This location is very, very helpful. Its clean, well decorated, even has little calming music things in the rooms. Staff were kind and respectful and the doctor taught me some things I hadnt known before, everything was super clear and really centred around helping the patients. This was, by far, the best experience I have had with a doctors office. If you need the services Planned Parenthood has to offer, I really recommend heading to this location over the other one.
The staff, including the receptionists and medical staff, were very kind, listened to me, and gave me lots of information. However, when I went to my appointment today, I waited 1 hour and 25 minutes past my appointment time to be taken back, then at least another 20 to see the provider. My appointment was at 11:40 (for which I arrived about 20 minutes early) and I didnt leave the building until almost three hours later. I encourage VLPP to look into better staffing numbers at this location, as that sort of wait time is a real accessibility issue. I wanted to leave this review also as a precaution to others that you may need to take a full or half day off in order to be seen here. As others have mentioned, I was also never able to reach the practice by phone.
I feel very unsafe in this area. Ive gone to this location once and vowed never to go back, but the North Hamilton location scheduled me here without my knowledge and I cant get ahold of anyone at either location to fix it. So I guess Im going to crackhead central against my will. Ill also be collecting my medical records and finding a new doctor moving forward. Planned Parenthood is severely understaffed, never answers the phone, takes HOURS to be seen even with an appointment, and its near impossible to get an appointment for the location you want.
Long story short: Amazing Staff and amazing services.I scheduled an appointment for new birth control here since I don’t have insurance and the cost was significantly lower than a regular woman’s doctor. I was wholly unprepared for my experience. The office was clean and welcoming, the was staff super friendly and respectful, and going as far to ask me what my preferred pronouns were (I’ve never had anyone ask me that before). Both the nurse and nurse practitioner did not make me feel uncomfortable or rushed and were willing to answer my questions without making me feel silly, which I can’t thank them enough for.I will definitely be returning for all my medical needs because this was an out of this world experience.
A+ Experience here. Every person I came into contact with was friendly and courteous. I had some nervousness from previously not being listened to during a womens health visit, but I couldnt have felt more comfortable or more heard. It was also quicker than other PP visits. Very much recommend.
This clinic has provided the best service that I have ever had. I went in for procedure that was very hard for me to do, I was mentally struggling with it. But it helped that I didnt feel judged or looked down upon for it.The staff was wonderful, everyone was so nice. The nurse Tiffany was awesome, I really loved her attitude. She explained everything that I would be going through and made me feel better prepared.I also appreciate the number they gave for after, just in case I need someone to talk to. Because its really needed.
Their phone number isnt actually connected to a phone. Ive actually been in the office while I was supposedly calling the front desk and didnt hear a phone ringing nor see any of the receptionists even look up. Ive spent so much time playing phone tag with them its ridiculous. My favorite part: the only way to leave feedback with the office is to CALL THEM. Like that will ever work 🙄
As a non-binary person, my pronouns are very important to me and they are very good at using them. You can tell everyone there loves their job. They are very sweet and positive-minded people. Im also very happy about the doctor Ive had. Out of 10 I give them an 11! (Because they have HGTV on in the waiting room as well)
Just got back from an appointment.Nurses and staff were all so kind. Respected my pronouns and chosen name. Talked me through everything knowing I was nervous (especially when it comes to potentially painful things). Everyone was very knowledgeable, sensitive, caring, and respectful.Havent gotten my bill yet, so I cannot speak for those reviews complaining about price yet, but so far, 5 stars.
I have nothing but great things to say about my experience here. Every single staff member, from the front desk attendant to the nurses and doctors, were kind and positive with impeccable bedside manner. I felt more comfortable here than I did at my previous obgyn in DC. It is a judgement free zone with impeccable care for their patients. The building is great too, they have sound machines in most rooms which is so soothing. They really care about every patient that comes in.
I have had my appointment canceled at the last minute 3 times in the past 6 months at this location. I tried to call back to reschedule and sat on hold for 15 minutes before giving up. My job demands mandatory overtime constantly so making time to see a doctor is very difficult for me and it is beyond frustrating to deal with last minute changes like this.
Wow! Can I just say THANK YOU to the amazing staff here!!Thank you for:1. The clean, well lit waiting area and exam room2. The friendly staff up front and the medical staff in the back who went above and beyond with answering my questions and getting me checked in and out3. Whitney, FNP, for spending upwards of thirty minutes in the exam room with me to ask plenty of relevant questions to make sure the issue I came for is accurately addressed. For your understanding when I got emotional, for the care and kindness you showed towards me.This Planned Parenthood provides much needed accesible health care for both men and women that alleviated a 3+ week wait at the other location. Super convenient from 95, parking directly out front and the side street next to the library.
I visited the new, second Richmond, Virginia Planned Parenthood location in September 2020. There are two doors, so make sure you choose the one on the right. There is not an intercom until you walk through the first door, then you will see it on your right. Press then release the button, and the staff will answer the intercom. Nicole and Emily at the front desk were very nice, and I believe one, if not both, are Spanish and English proficient. It is a beautiful new waiting area, with certain seats closed for social distancing. I felt very comfortable with the COVID-19 precautions in place. Triage is completed over the phone after they bring you to an exam room. I was seen by Whitney, who was very caring and helpful. Thank you, Planned Parenthood - East End Center!
Completely unprofessional. Went in for a procedure that would cost 85 dollars, and resulted in a bill that was 160. They overcharge you. I was charged 75 dollars extra for having a discussion with the nurse. Nurse Whitney or Brittany, whatever the hell it is was attempting to persuade me to not go through with the procedure. I guess her baiting me with conversation equates to 75 dollars. She was in there for less than 3 minutes. I thought places like this were supposed to take care of other women, not take advantage of their situation. Ive never been so disrespected before when I did address the front ladies sitting on the chairs. They didnt let me dispute this issue with the nurse. Instead they gave me a number that goes nowhere.
So hard to get a hold of anybody to info on results, every time I call the signal cuts out or I get a voicemail.
Called 2 weeks after my abortion and told them I wasn’t sure what I thought I was having complications and possibly the pregnancy hadn’t passed and the receptionist told me she spoke to my doctor and to come in. (Beforehand I had told them I was 40 minutes away)(Complications was bad stomach pain and diarrhea)I come in to the office and am taken back, the girl who takes your information wouldn’t even stand in the room with me, she decided to leave the room and call me. She then proceeds to tell me I have to be tested to covid before my ultrasound because I was having symptoms of covid. I told them no and they denied to service me.I am writing this about 3 weeks since I’ve been in the office and I have NO COVID AND NO SYMPTOMS! Luckily my pain has went away and the pregnancy did pass. I’ve been to both locations now and both locations treat their patients like trash.
Great office for transgender people but they just need to get better on answering the phone for refilling prescriptions!! I have to email the director just to get a refill put in 🤦🏾♂️
Great care from people who care. The nurses and doctors there are knowledgeable about a range of women’s health issues, as well as warm, and make you feel instantly comfortable. Plus the floors are pink!
What was inherently an anxious and uncomfortable experience became much less so due to the kindness and patience from everyone in there. Ive never had a bad experience at planned parenthood and I basically shout my support from the rooftops!
Really nice facility, and pretty easy to access and park despite not having a dedicated parking lot. Very supportive and educated staff- great for trans healthcare and HRT-access. Highly recommended
Not currently accepting patients looking for HRT with very little detail, told to “try again at the end of fall” then hung up on
Shout to Dr Shokoufeh Dianat for working so hard by calling various different pharmacies to search for my medication…I really appreciate your dedication to your patients!!!Also shout out to the front desk for answering every question I had while being so personable
Great experience! They were quick and thorough at the same time and made me feel so comfortable. Would definitely recommend!
Just had a covid test here, which is free if you are uninsured. Precessional, friendly, kind, same as I have experienced every time Ive gone to pp for healthcare. Thank you pp.
They never pick up the phone !! It’s ridiculous I’ve been trying to get in contact with them for months. Left voicemails never received a back .
In a horrible area. Theres no safe parking and its right across the street from a bus stop. Go to the Harrison St location where theres not the constant threat of violence.
Melissa J. Literally helped me for life and I couldn’t be more thankful. Keep up the great work!
Very clean and comfortable. Great staff and a very comfortable experience.
This place is amazing, professional service, and the care team is second to none.
The wait time is 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Long wait time.Crackheads across the street.
Keeps you waiting for hours despite of having an appointment
Horrible institution
Exceptional facility and staff.
