Having my fibroid removed at CICG was the best choice. I had done a lot of research months before the surgery and knew that it would be the best place. Dr. Danilyants is absolutely amazing. I could not ask for a better physician. In terms of professionalism and care, the entire team was sensational, from the secretary, all the nurses who took good care of me, and the anesthesiologist Jones, to Dr. Natalya, they were incredibly professional and gave me a lot of confidence. Particularly, the only inconvenience was traveling 4 hours to MD, where one of the facilities is located, also after the surgery, as expected, the post-op period is annoying for about 2-3 days, but after that, the recovery is smooth and easier. Overall, I had a great experience and if needed in the future, I will definitely return as well as recommend to friends and family.
I did my surgery in Secaucus NJ 5 days ago. Since My encounter began with the staff of this establishment it has been pleasant. Dr. Paul Mackuol was nothing but McCool since the consultation. I was nervous going in for my biopsy . The medical assistant I met first was beyond sweet, then Renée my preop nurse. Then a return the following Wednesday for my hysterectomy. The pleasantries continues. The anesthesiologist, the pacu nurse Ed, my OR nurse, they were awesome . My entire journey was awesome and way less traumatic then I anticipated. Im recuperating well. I feel some discomfort at my incision site. But Ive only taken Tylenol for the first 2 day, just because. No real pain. I would recommend this center and its staff again and again. As a nurse myself, I say thanks to my colleagues for treating me with care and respect.
I recently underwent the LAAM procedure at CIGC and traveled all the way from Toronto, Canada for the surgery. While I appreciate Canada’s publicly funded healthcare system, my fibroids were considered non-urgent and I was placed on a waitlist for an open myomectomy for sometime in spring/summer 2025. Faced with this lengthy wait, I decided to explore other options and came across CIGC. After much consideration and research, I decided to take the leap.My case was complex, but Dr. Danilyants and the entire staff were exceptional throughout the process. The first three days of recovery were challenging, but I’m now feeling significantly better. Ive already had my first cycle post-surgery, and I’m amazed by the difference. If you are in a position where you can afford this procedure, do it. Your health is the most important investment you can make.
This was my first ever surgery and that was to remove fibroids I didn’t realize I had until March of this year which caused some dull back pain I was experiencing. Before I found out about before the LAAM procedure to remove fibroids, I was considering UFE at another facility and thought it was my only option for minimally invasive surgery. I kept going back and forth with the other provider and even did a consultation. My spirit was in turmoil and felt peace when I found about the LAAM procedure which is a minimally invasive procedure with a 2 week recovery period. First I checked it with my insurance and saw that it was in network , glory be to God. I did my consultation and provided my ultrasound documentation on April 29. On that call I had to schedule a hysteroscopy before the actual LAAM and that only options was the end of May and April 30. Of course I chose April 30. Two weeks later on May 14, I got the LAAM procedure done. All I can say this is a clean and professionally operated facility . My mother and husband who accompanied me, says she was impressed on how clean and organized it was. The staff are friendly and professional, I didn’t get any negative attitudes or vibes from them. The surgeon, Dr MacKoul is soft spoken and answered any of my questions that I had. He removed 2 fibroids, one tiny one and one large one that almost weighed the size of my uterus. Couldn’t wait to get those ‘weeds out of my garden’ . God is good because the surgery did not cause scarring to my uterus so I can give birth vaginally . Overall, I know this is a long review, but I highly recommend this for removal of fibroids through a minimally invasive process.
Dr. MacKouls surgery for me was was life-changing. After 12 years of being medically gas-lit, it was a breath of fresh air having someone take me seriously, listen, and get to the root of the problem immediately. I was almost shocked when he validated me so quickly and helped me schedule my surgery right away. The surgery itself was quick and everyone treated me and my wife with such respect and kindness. While obviously surgery doesnt cure endometriosis- its helped! I am able to target ways to manage my pain, and not to mention my doctors now HAVE to listen. I feel like Ive gotten my life back and wouldnt trade the experience for the world. Post-op day 5-7 were a little rough, but thats to be expected once getting off pain medication.
I was referred to this office by a woman in a FB group for women who were considering hysterectomies. My consultation went well so I scheduled a surgery. The day of my surgery someone from the same FB group messaged me in response to my post about surgery to warn me that both doctors have lawsuits for negligence. Dr. Natayla has one where she was found to be at fault for bowel injury and had to pay the patient and her partner Dr. MacKoul has over 40 for various things. It’s crazy because this doesn’t come up when you Google the center it only comes up if you Google their names and the word “lawsuit”. I canceled the surgery (I spoke to Dr. Daniylants and told her why I felt uncomfortable moving forward) and afterwards realized that the woman who referred me to them strangely looked like the woman who helped prepare me for my biopsy which was days before I was supposed to have surgery. They deny the woman works there but I disagree. I received a bill for 2k because I canceled when the agreement I signed said it would be 1k if I canceled within 7 days. I had to speak to 3 different people for them to honor the 1k. They said they emailed me AFTER I signed the agreement to let me know that it was 2k which didn’t matter to me because that’s not what I signed and agreed to. They said that as a courtesy they would honor the 1k if I pay within 30 days (as if they were doing me a favor). I paid the 1k because it’s my fault I didn’t do better research. DO YOUR RESEARCH!
Had three surgeries by Dr. Makoul. The first was an amazing experience. The second one, he almost killed me. The third.. well he came back and said he didnt see anything.. so pretty much wasted my money, and for the post op appointment, had me waiting an hour and he still didnt call. So that is my experience with him. I pray I never have to work with him ever again. Certainly will not recommend him to anyone. If you can find another specialist to work with, please do!
Listen to your body. Pain that disrupts your life is not normal. If your doctor is not listening to you or not providing options seek advice from a specialist such as Dr. D/ CIGC. Dr. D is no nonsense. If your doctor is telling you medication is the answer for fibroids or endometriosis or the only way to treat endometriosis is to listen to patients, they are not educated on the matter. I wish I would have contacted CIGC sooner but Im so happy to finally be pain free and loving life! The surgical center staff were amazing and dont keep you longer than needed. I was feeling great 3-4 days post surgery but dont push yourself. Highly recommend Dr. D and the CIGC team!
This practice cancelled my well visit a week out, after I took off from work. The PA apparently no longer does well visits. I am an existing patient. It feels like preventative care is not lucrative enough they want to wait until they can treat and bill for breast or cervical cancer. The receptionists were very rude and disorganized in the scheduling process which itself took months. I have never been late to an appointment or delinquent on bills to this office. I was surprised to be treated with such disrespect.
If you know you need surgery but are scared of the recovery or complications, GO HERE!!! The EXCEEDED my expectations! I and all my friends and family were shocked at how fast the recovery was (zero pain meds after 2 days!). I was trying to host them when they came to visit me!😂 Best part, my mood has changed drastically! I chuckle at all the things that used to anger me! I feel so free, and its only been 3 weeks!
If youre having any doubts, dont. The center was very professional and my healing time was quicker than I anticipated. I am slowly feeling like myself again after treatment at CIGC. Thank you Dr. Danilyants.
Dr. Danilyants and her team are the best! I was having severe pain for years and doctors only gave me the option of birth control or ibuprofen. I followed my gut after years of pain and got a second opinion after an ultrasound at another doctor. They assured me my one small fibroid was not a concern and I should be able to get pregnant with no problems. I tried herbal teas and nothing seemed to help my pain and constantly had negative test results.I went to see Dr. M on the 10th. He explained where my fibroid was located was completely blocking any possibility for sperm cells to meet the egg. I had my labrascopic myomectomy scheduled for the 15th with Dr. Danilyants. Her staff were very kind and welcoming and by the 18th I was back at work. One week later I had no pain at all and I am back to my normal routine, I am just waiting for the surgical tape to fall off.Thank you to everyone at Center of Innovative GYN care.
Dr. Danilyants is fantastic! I have been postponing this surgery for 2 years with my regular GYN because they kept pushing and not really providing much info other than lets go to surgery! I called the Center and got an appointment quickly. In that first visit with Dr. D, she outlined specifically what she would remove - I was glad to hear that the cervix would be untouched. She was very calm, explained it really well, put me at ease and I received the surgery date quickly as well - I thought I would have to wait until next year. Honestly, I highly, highly recommend Dr. Danilyants. Recovery has been easier than expected and you truly are up and active almost immediately after surgery. The nurses and anesthesiologist were just as amazing. The whole experience was a breeze. I wish I had found them 2 years ago!!! I have no hesitations in recommending them - the procedure is truly amazing. Thank you Dr. Danilyants and staff!
What a team! I was completely blown away by Dr. D and the staff. My husband and I traveled all the way from Nashville, TN for my dual port GYN procedure and I’d do it all over again.Back in TN, my ER trip turned into 2 dermoid cysts. I was all set for a robotic laparoscopic procedure on a Monday. I told my husband about my anxiety for the procedure and the after effects of it (fertility, recovery time, and the number/how big the scars would be). Thankfully, he searched the web looking for other options. He found the website for the Center for Innovative GYN care. The staff: Brandi and Linda were so quick to respond the week before my surgery. Had us scheduled for consultation the Friday before my Monday surgery. Linda organized all the paperwork I need to complete for the surgery and was responsive to my questions. Jasmine explained the information right before I went in for my surgery. Ms.Regina took care of my short term disability. This office is a well-oiled machine. The nurses: Shoutout to my pre-op, OR, and post-op nurses. Theresa and Michelle kept my spirits up and my anxiety at bay. Since I’ve never had a single surgery, you can understand why I appreciated this about them. Lisa and Ivy, I was so drowsy after the anesthesia that I couldn’t thank you properly. My husband and my mom sang your praises when I came around the next day. Even through my grogginess I could hear your warm bedside manner when I was going through post surgery pain.Dr. D: You know in healthcare when you encounter a doctor and you just know or feel that they are already thinking about getting out of the room even though you waited an hour to see them? Dr. D was NOT like that at all. A rare clinician that spoke to me with fantastic bed side manner, candor, and spoke with a decisive voice. I felt so secure in her skills over our phone consultation that I cancelled my Monday surgery the Saturday before. I could tell you were the right surgeon for me because you took the time to answer my questions and gave me the information I wanted to know. She was able to take out nine dermoid cysts with hair, 17 teeth! I would travel 9 hours again to this office if I had to (hopefully I don’t haha but if I had to I’d come back). I write this review exactly three weeks down to the minute. I only have two scars. My OBGYN in TN said my sutures looked great today and I feel like I’m myself again. Thank you Dr. D.
I cannot overstate how lucky I feel to have found CIGC and Dr. MacKoul. Everyone in the office was prompt, kind, and professional. When insurance initially denied the medical necessity of my procedure, CIGC and Dr. MacKoul fought on my behalf, the way I would have fought for my own patients. At a time when women feel uncertain or even unsafe seeking dignified medical care, CIGC and Dr. MacKoul listened to me and advocated for me. They made me feel safe, informed, and supported from start to finish. My husband and I utilized the shuttle service to the center in New Jersey and it was fantastic. The driver was lovely and my husband and I were able to rest on the shuttle before and after my procedure. As for recovery, well I went hiking on my third week post-op. I wish I had done this ten years ago.
I had a great experience with the entire CSIG staff, from receptionists to the surgeons. I had 2 planned procedures; all details were clearly presented and covered. Both Dr. Mackoul and Dr. Danilyants did a great job with my surgeries, and I have no complaint. My recovery was just as explained. Its been over 3 months now; menstruation has regulated and pain feee. I thank God, and I am very grateful that I found CSIG. A thousand THANKS to the team.A. NOEL (procedures 08/24/23 & 08/25/23)
The whole procedure starting from consultation, office visits, follow up calls to the pre-op visits and calls really went well and were professionally handled.Prior to my surgery, I received timely phone calls to ensure my blood work and COVID test were in place. On the day of my surgery, I received a call to remind me when to arrive at the center, and I was given information about the necessary documentation before the operation.Approximately 30 minutes before my surgery, both the surgeon and the anesthesiologist personally met with me and my husband to discuss the procedure and answer our questions.Since I was under anesthesia effect, I had enough time to come back to normal after surgery, and I was assisted to get dressed and reach my car once I felt better.Facility hygiene was well maintained and it was very clean. I was assigned a recovery nurse to assist me until I was discharged.Honestly, I dont think the team needs any further improvement. Everything was well organized and perfect. In my opinion, the billing team should be able to explain verbally the entire process of submitting the claim to the insurance company once the surgery is completed and how long it will take for them to respond to the final balance payment to the patient - basically, explaining to the patient the entire revenue cycle.Again, that does not mean they were not helpful, the billing team was very helpful and explained things well, but I thought it could have been better explained.
When I went to the CIGC, I found qualified, welcoming staff, quality care, and state-of-the-art technology.I regained my mobility and could return to work a week after my operation.I highly recommend this center to any woman in need of gynecological surgery.
I highly recommend the Center for Innovative GYN Care and Dr. Mackoul. Dr. Mackoul is amazing and performed my hysterectomy in February 2023. From the scheduling, the registration, pre-op prep nurses, anesthesiologist, speaking with Dr. Mackoul before the procedure, the operating room nurses, to the recovery room nurses. I cannot say enough about the Dr and the entire staff at the Secaucus Surgery Center. Everybody was caring, sincere and helpful. It was an experience I will never forget and highly recommend them!
Dr. MacKoul is The Man! After 2 years of pain and discomfort, a friend suggested I see him. Best decision ever! He provides thorough, easily digestible information and is kind and compassionate. He and his team gave me such a sense of peace and confidence that I wasn’t even very nervous on the day of my surgery. Instead of a 4-6 week recovery with a traditional hysterectomy, I was up and about in 2 weeks and feeling great. Run, don’t walk, to Dr. MacKoul and the whole team at CIGC! Top notch care in a calm setting. I can’t recommend them highly enough!
I cannot express how thankful I am to find The Center for Innovative Gyn Care and Dr. Mackoul. I had been suffering for years with endometriosis & adenomyosis and was given limited options for care/pain management. From the moment I walked into the office I was heard, believed and validated. I underwent a partial hysterectomy that went very well and recovery was better than I could imagine. I am a month out and feel like a new human. I cannot say enough good things about every one of the staff members & doctors. You will receive exceptional care and healing IS possible!
Dr. Danilyants and her entire team were extremely professional and kind throughout the entire process. The process they have in place flows very well which helps ease any additional anxiety people naturally experience from preparing for surgery—from consultation to post-op follow-up, any question you can think of is answered, and all information you need is provided. The entire team is amazing! I’d certainly recommend to anyone considering.
The admin/billing department made my life a living hell, which is a shame because CIGC has some of the best doctors Ive ever met in my life.CIGCs admin mishandled the documents and checks that insurance provided, leading me on a stressful and wild goose chase for 3 years to avoid paying a $27k surprise (and inaccurate/already paid in full) bill.Rather than take responsibility for their mistake, admin pointed fingers and shrugged their shoulders until management finally stepped in to avoid a lawsuit - at which point it was fixed without hesitation.I made the incredibly difficult decision to stop seeing Dr. Danilyants even though she truly saved my life, because I cant risk another 3 years of my life wasted on hundreds of hours on the phone trying to fix CIGC’s negligent mistake every time I need care. The doctors are wonderful, but unless you are ready to pay out of pocket or spend reckless amounts of time solving billing mistakes I recommend exploring your options elsewhere first.
I recently underwent a minimally invasive gyn procedure at the CIGS. After 5 years of pain, uncomfortable symptoms and visits to 4 other doctors/surgeons, I found the CIGC. Dr. Paul MacKoul and his entire staff provided exceptional care. My entire experience was extremely positive. I fully recommend their services and sincere care! They truly saved the quality of my life!
After seeking advice from several OB-GYN doctors on my large fibroids without getting any clear guidance, I was so happy to finally find the expertise I needed. I immediately knew that I could trust Dr. Danilyants and I couldnt be happier with the treatment she and the Center provided from the first consult, through surgery, and afterwards. For anyone who has fibroids or other complex gyn issues, I cant recommend Dr. Danilyants enough.
Im so glad I got this surgery!!! I got a minimally invasive myomectomy from CGIC in August of 2021 at their New Jersey location just outside Manhattan with Dr MacKoul. I had to get new insurance (Cigna) to swing it, then fly out and stay with family for the procedure, and I was very worried about the whole thing, but I did my research and decided this was the way to go. I was so right.I had a number of small fibroids that theyd found on imaging, so I wasnt a great candidate for the procedures that were available locally. It turns out they were able to remove 7 small fibroids and 3 patches of endometriosis at the same time. The recovery was great except for nausea for a couple days from the anesthesia, but I was on my feet and able to take care of myself and walk around within a few days and I was light-weight functional within a week taking it easy. Pain was super minimal during the recovery. Now, over a year later I can say with confidence that Im so much better!!! My pain is gone, my life is back, and I feel SO MUCH BETTER!!!
I am so glad I found CIGC. I knew from my initial consult that I would have my surgery here. The staff is so awesome, my surgeon, Dr. Paul MacKoul was amazing, and their facility (Rockville) was very nice. They all took great care of me, and I will ALWAYS refer other women to CIGC. I had a supercervical laparoscopic hysterectomy on August 14th and my recovery was 7 to 10 days. Dr. MacKoul made one small incision (2.5 inches) in my pelvic area and a tiny one in my belly button! AMAZING!! Thank you CIGC!
My experience happened in 2019 yet I just received a bill from Dr. MacKoul that my insurance didnt cover my services from 3 YEARS AGO despite having proof that they did. I read other reviews & this is a tactic they have used way too often.I will never visit this place again. The reception staff is terrible & they took 2 weeks to get simple results back to me. There is one staff member that is so rude, you wont even want to deal with her. The only person who made my visit somewhat normal was the nurse practitioner. She was awesome! I wish I could vouch for these review, but I guess since I didnt allow them to give me a hysterectomy which they specialize in, theprofessionalism went out of the door. I was so excited to finally get some help after reading the reviews then going in changed everything. Dr. Danilyants was okay, but she definitely rushed thru the appt & tried to push a hysterectomy on me when I was way too young to need to do that. My condition would not have been better if she took out my uterus yet she was adamant that it would. After seeing another gyno, I found out she just wanted the money for the surgery & really didnt care to help. She suggested a surgery that had nothing to do with my chronic pain. Do your research, there are PLENTY of other places to get better care ESPECIALLY if you have any chronic illnesses. Also, this pace hides the negative reviews so make sure to read those!!! The 2 doctor mentioned also work for Capital Womens Care in Fairfax County. Be careful!
I received the very best care from Dr. Mackoul and his staff. I originally planned a full, open hysterectomy from my local surgeon. I sought the advice of Dr. Mackoul and he was confident that he could remove my very large uterus because of a large fibroid with very small incisions. He in fact did just that and my recovery was exactly as he said it would be. I had the surgery as an outpatient and I felt great after just 2 weeks. I highly recommended this excellent surgeon and his staff.
If you knew me, you would know that I NEVER give 5 stars on a review; I tend to stay in yhe 3 or 4 star range. My experience in 2017 with this medical practice was 5 Stars from the beginning. I loved that I could filled out the patients forms online with signature along with uploading my insurance & tests results. I called them a couple of times and the office staff were helpful, patient and knowledgeable.Walking into their office felt like I was at the spa.Dr. D maybe petite but her knowledge and empathy are gigantic. She was straight forward and I like doctors who cut to the chase and just give all the information along with pros and cons.I ended up having surgery and Dr. D knew my insurance wasnt going to be accepted after a certain date.and squeezed me into an already heavy surgery schedule.. My surgery started earlier than scheduled!!! :-) The f/u care was great. I will never miss the gas and belly button pain. I had some post op concerns and would call the office. The staff would immediately respond to my questions (there were alot).Bedside manner has seemed to have disappeared and her office changed my opinion on that. I have recommended them to a number of people since 2017 privately and now publicly.I hope this helps people make a decision.
Great experience with Dr. Mackoul and his amazing staff! Made me feel really comfortable before, during and after my procedure. He was highly recommended by my OBGYN and he definitely saved my life along with making sure I can have a successful future pregenancy!
I have talked to four different gynecologist regarding fibroids. I sought out this practice specifically because of the promise of a quicker recovery time. So I scheduled a consult. Dr MacKoul was 45 minutes late. However once I met with him, he seemed very knowledgeable. He drew pictures and discussed surgery. He spend a good amount of time on the consult. He did suggest I go to NJ for surgery since I had BCBS bc there would be better coverage at that geographic location. However, I was slightly reticent given some of the reviews related to billing. I was also slightly unsettled as Dr MacKoul suggested also removing my ovaries “to avoid risk of ovarian cancer.” However, I don’t have a high cancer risk and I was there for fibroids. It just seemed a bit excessive/extra also giving me pause. He didn’t totally push it, just said “think about it” and gave me info on estrogen only replacement. So I researched it. In my research, my understanding is that there are many benefits to leaving the ovaries, but removing fallopian tubes at the time of hysterectomy can be helpful in preventing ovarian cancer. This study is a good overview of this issue. Ovary-sparing hysterectomy: Is it right for your patient? Umang Sharma, MD and Sarah-Anne Schumann, MD. Dr MacKoul was the only one of the 4 consults to suggest removal of ovaries. So I researched more and found that Mackoul has faced 14 lawsuits since 1991. The Washington Post published an article in 2018 entitled, “Lax Oversight Leaves Surgery Center Regulators And Patients In The Dark.” There’s a large section midway down about Dr MacKoul. You can search it up if you want to know more. In reading the article and in doing my own deep research, I have decided that I’ll go with a different provider. If something seems to good to be true, it probably is. I am now seeing Dr Young in Rockville. I haven’t decided yet on surgery, but she has given me MANY surgical and non surgical options to consider.
Dr. Danilyants has been the most thorough Doctor that I have consulted with pertaining to my dx of endometriosis and adenoma of the uterus, which caused heavy bleeding and intense pain. I consulted with several specialists (including teaching hospitals and private practices) over a 3 month period and I was so confident with the knowledge of Dr. Danilyants, that I agreed to have the laposcopic hysterectomy in an outpatient setting, which I never imagined being comfortable with, however, this team made me feel confident with my treatment and surgical plan. As an independently licensed clinician myself, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND INNOVATIVE OBGYN and I’m so grateful for the care I received yesterday (10/12/22 in Rockville) during my surgery. Special thanks to Jasmine at the front desk and my bedside nurses Theresa and Lisa🙏!
I am so glad I finally decided to have this surgery. I was a bit nervous. But The Center for Innovative GYN Care in Rockville, Maryland was an amazing center. The doctors, the nurses, EVERYONE on the entire team that I interacted with, were amazing! They eased my nerves at both appts (the pre-op and the surgery day).
The center is very clean and everyone is very professional, polite, and diligent. Also, Emily Robidoux is an outstanding coordinator, she brings order and excellence to her entire team. I’m glad that everyone was very knowledgeable, and helpful with safety and pain management as well.
I had a very positive experience with Dr. MacKoul. He is a knowledgeable and skilled doctor. He was very clear when delivering information. He was honest and put me at ease preparing for my surgery. My recovery went very well. I highly recommend Dr. MacKoul. The entire process from beginning to end was so professional and clear.
I had surgery to remove fibroids a couple days ago and all I can say is WOW! I am amazed and sooo thankful for my surgeon! I feel so great! Like no joke at first I was a bit hesitate about this place because every review seemed so positive and UNFORTUNATELY we live in a world where you can’t always trust things without doing good research yourself. So I did my research on both the surgeons at CIGC dr D and dr. Paul mackoul. Both had amazing reviews, so I didn’t care who I got! . So like I said I had fibroids removed and after my pain level at the most was probably a 4. Just mostly sore around incisions a sore throat from the tube down my throat and groggy! I had no issue with Anesthesia and no need for narcotics because my pain wasn’t bad! I was up and walking by day 2 and by day 4 I took my dog on a walk outside in the snow! Like when I met with dr mackoul he told me I could play tennis and do cycling class in 2 weeks and I was skeptical because other doctors had said a month tops! I am forever thankful for these skilled surgeons! I just feel so great so I feel like they did a great job! Also I want to mention how amazing and sweet and caring the recovery staff was! I had nurses who I think were named Tracey and Yosemi* and they were so patient and caring. I’m so so thankful I found this place and I will be spreading the word. Also the facility was very clean and homey feeling and I felt even better knowing I wasn’t going to be at a hospital especially during Covid!
I did my surgery in the New Jersey location. I have had surgeries in the past so I was expecting a long wait. Once I signed in and signed all the necessary forms, I was called to the back to prep for surgery. The staff were professional and it was nice to see everyone that was involved in my surgery. My surgery was successful and I will definitely recommend this facility to my loved ones.
I was going through a lot of pain during and right before cycles. I was able to get an appointment with Dr Danilyants right away. She was very compassionate to what was going on and gave me several options. My surgery was scheduled within only a few weeks! The whole staff from the benefits department, the front desk check in staff, and the nurses were all so helpful and everything was explained to me from my insurance benefits, recovery time, and what to expect after the procedure. I am so happy I chose to have my procedure with The Center for Innovative Gyn Care!
I’m giving this practice one star because I had a consultation with Dr. Danilyants almost two years ago (saw an add on Facebook for her) and after one consultation, she recommended a hysterectomy based on ONE MRI after I complained of horrific pain I was experiencing during my menstrual cycles. She said based on the MRI findings that the back wall of my uterus was significantly damaged and my chances of conceiving were slim even with fertility assistance. Also, if I did conceive, the chances of miscarriage would be high, I probably wouldn’t be able to carry to term, and fertility assistance would more than likely be unsuccessful. This news was devastating because it was my wish to try and conceive with my husband whom I’d just married. I was told by her that I could seek another opinion and that’s what I did. Fast forward to now and with excellent fertility assistance by another practice, with my very first pregnancy I was successful and I am currently nursing my one month old (nine pound baby girl at birth too) who was born at 39 weeks (via an elected induction). She was born without any pregnancy complications whatsoever as well. My fertility doctor and also my gynecologist were both astonished that a hysterectomy was ever suggested to me without me having an opportunity to try and conceive first. I am so glad and thank God that I went with my intuition and got a second opinion before having my entire uterus removed which would’ve robbed me of the opportunity of being a mother. Let this be a warning for any woman considering being a patient of this practice. Please seek a second opinion before having a hysterectomy based on a single recommendation by them. Not every woman needs this, especially if it is her desire to have children.P. S. Might I also add that it’s very interesting that no representative bothered to comment under my review, but did for the majority of others.
Dr. Danilyants performed my myomectomy in April this year. The entire process from consultation, surgery, recovery, and follow-up was great. Dr. Danilyants and her team have an exceptional combination of professionalism and friendliness that made this procedure better than I expected. I recovered in a couple of weeks and have a very small scar from the surgery. Dr. Danilyants was also available to answer all my questions before the surgery and was easy to reach despite being so busy. I felt heard. The nurse in Post- op was extremely kind and patient. I didnt feel rushed at all to leave. I highly recommend Dr. Daniyants to anyone with OB/GYN issues.
They really need to update the insurance companies. Despite what my insurance shows, this providers Rockville location informed me that they have not been in-network with BlueCross BlueShield since 2016! I was told this by the provider AFTER I scheduled an appointment.
There are no words to express my gratitude for Dr MacKoul and The Center for Innovative GYN Care. When I learned I would need a hysterectomy for large fibroids, I was devastated. I never wanted to have surgery, and specifically not a hysterectomy. Dr MacKoul and CIGC made this process and procedure so simple, after only a few days post surgery, I had to remind myself I had a procedure. The minimally invasive procedure allowed for rapid healing, no complications, and gave me my life back. I feel better than I have for more than 10 years. My wish for all women struggling with fibroids or endometriosis is this same opportunity. Dr MacKoul and CIGC made me feel as if I was their only patient, and for someone as scared as I was, that was a tremendously comfortable feeling and gave me confidence that I would be okay. Indeed I am . . . better than okay.
I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. D. and this facility. I had 20 + fibroid tumors, the largest the size of a grapefruit. Many of the others were the size of lemons & limes. I traveled from Washington state, had a total hysterectomy on Thursday. Arrived at the surgery center at 8:15 and was headed back to our hotel at 1pm. I was able to take two 20 minute walks and one 40 minute walk that same day. I had some discomfort, but I would not call it pain. I took motrin, but did not need anything stronger than that. We returned home Sunday morning. The surgery center was very professional. I had a dedicated nurse the entire time. I have never had surgery before, so was a bit nervous, and they eased my concerns and made me feel very comfortable. I am amazed at how good I feel and am so glad I did not have an open procedure, which was the only choice with doctors at home. The entire process was great, during this time of Covid19 I was able to have send my scans and have a remote consultation to discuss my case. Being out of network for me, Finances were discussed up front and I was very aware of the amount that I was responsible for. I was contacted a few days ahead of my travel to discuss surgery, labs, Covid test results etc and ask any questions I had...the entire process was seamless.
I had a laparoscopic myomectomy in September 2020 with Dr. Mackoul, I appreciated that he took time to explain the procedure and what to expect. When I went home after the procedure, I had intense pain and the nurse advised they would send my prescription to my pharmacy. I tried to call the office and the phone system advised I would need to call the doctor directly as it was after hours. I left him a vm and when he called me back he said I should not have that level of pain because I only had a tiny fibroid. I felt small and stupid, I went to bed in pain. I called the office the next day and they explained the prescription was in my folder. I was advised I needed to come back in three months to remove any scarring and to do a biopsy because I actually had several small fibroids and endometriosis. when I met with doctor Mackoul he said to tell his office if I decide to have an IUD implanted. I told the office one month before the procedure that I did not want the IUD, however, on the day of the procedure, the nurse asked me again and I said no. Doctor Mackoul came to talk to me and seemed upset that I did not want the implant. He argued with me that I had a lot of endometriosis removed and the biopsy showed the disease was still there. I said I would explore different birth control options, he said he was not going to go back and forth with me and walked out. It was off putting because other patients could hear him speaking to me this way. When I saw him in the follow up appointment he was back to being nice, so I just chalked it up to stress. I appreciated that the staff was courteous, they did their best to explain everything. I like doctor Mackoul and I would definitely recommend him, only suggestion is just for the doctor to remember we are people, respect, kindness and empathy go a long way.
Dr. Mackoul literally saved my life. My periods would go for 13-14 days (heavy bleeding and clots) stop for a few days and come right back for another 2 weeks. My iron levels were down to a 7. It felt like I spent all my time on my period. Before I came to Dr Mackoul I had already has a robotic myomectomy but the fibroids grew right back. I live in Florida and when I went to my GYN here she honestly told me that because of my scar tissue she was hesitant to perform my hysterectomy. Thats all I needed to hear. I was glad she was honest but devastated at the thought that I had no hope. It was nothing but God pointing me in the right direction that led me to CIGC. During my phone screen with Dr Mackoul I cried because I thought my 14cm fibroid was gonna be too large for him to take out without an open cut. Dr Mackoul was so calm and unbothered. Lol. He let me know that my case was just a regular day for him and that he has taken out much bigger fibroids laparoscopically. I scheduled that day, traveled all the way to Maryland and in less than 2 hours Dr Mackoul changed my life and I was able to keep my ovaries which meant no instant menopause. I was able to travel back to Florida after 2 days and I was actually nervous that I wasnt in pain. I took some OTC pain meds for the first few days to reduce inflammation but after that there was 0 pain. I went back to work in 2 weeks. In retrospect I wish I would have taken a bit more time for my body to heal on the inside but outside of that things have been great. I would reccomend Dr Mackoul and CIGC to anyone who is suffering and feeling hopeless about their situation. I suffer with anxiety and panic attacks and was still able to get through this entire experience without one panic attack. My hysterectomy was back in February so I am 6 months period free and loving it. I finally have my life back and wish my fear would not have caused me to wait for so long. Him and his staff are God sent and I will be forever grateful.
The best OBGYN service ever! I recently had Hysterectomy surgery here and it was a great experience. I highly reccomend CIGC to anyone that needs specialized gynecological care because they are experts and know how to treat the toughest cases. Dr. Makoul and his staff are professional caring and friendly. I was able to call after hours with questions and received prompt attention.I had so much scarring and adhesions my local doctors did not want to perform my surgery. Im thankful for CIGC. After my surgery my recovery was much faster than if I had used traditional surgery. Within a week I was able to manage my pain and move around. This experience was very positive.
This office has changed my life for the better. They were so quick in calling me back after sending a written inquiry and within weeks was in office for a consultation. And on a Saturday! I was apprehensive because I kept being told I was fine ... from the office staff to the nurse to Dr D- everyone was so nice and helpful. Dr. D working minutes was able to tell me what was going on and had a treatment plan. Within a month I had surgery and feel better than I have in over 15 years. THANK YOU so incredibly much for all you’ve done for me and countless other women!! If you’re questioning to call or not... absolutely call and schedule an appointment!
CIGC is amazing! I had my hysterectomy on my birthday February 6 2018 and I am recovering very well! I had a hysterectomy because I had a disease called adenomyosis. My uterus was very enlarged and rock solid. Dr. Mackoul was a great surgeon! I have no side effects and my recovery was very short. I was back to work and activities only a week after the surgery. The staff is amazing and I felt very calm and confident right before my surgery. I highly recommend CIGC to anyone possibly needing a hysterectomy. I only have one visible incision and its so tiny and the other two incisions are navel and bikini cut so its not visible. When deciding on a hysterectomy make sure you are 100% percent comfortable with your surgeon. I had to find CIGC on my own because I wasnt comfortable with my doctor doing it. Best decision Ive ever made!
Terrific experience! Everyone was very professional - and nice! I was fortunate to find Dr. Paul Mackoul to perform my surgery. His expertise in laparoscopic surgery allowed me to return home the same day. Many women are unaware that this is an option for them and unfortunately undergo regular surgery that requires a long recovery. People need to be proactive and do the research. This was the easiest surgery I have ever had - even with a scare of 25% chance of cancer. The Innovative facility was excellent and I preferred it to a hospital, where you can pick up dangerous viruses.
CIGC staff are the best! It was so easy to make my first appointment and from then on it only got better! Thank you to all the staff that worked with me and handled everything with ease from my appointments to my insurance claims to answering my questions to just putting my mind at ease! Thank you so much!! You were all amazing!
This was one of the most unpleasant medical experiences I have ever had. Everyone was polite and kind leading up to the surgery date. However during my procedure there were complications and the procedure was terminated. Dr. D no longer seem engaged and just wanted me to seek medical care somewhere else. To add insult to injury the billing department was constantly sending incorrect statements and not posting payments in a timely fashion. I paid over $4k upfront as a copay because this facility was out of network with my insurance company, but I thought they were leaders in the field and would take absolutely good care of me. However in the end they cut me open, termed a procedure (which I appreciate) and submitted incorrect billing for a procedure that never happened. The experience was so impersonal and lacked care & efficiency all around. It felt like a factory experience and I was a money grab opportunity.
I read reviews saying how non-invasive the hysterectomy procedure is, and that people were able to start going for walks after 2 days, etc. Its all true! No complications, very professional, a quick recovery, and Dr. Danilyants even took out my cancerous appendix while she was in there!
I had a laproscopic myomectomy done in september of 2021 and followed up with Hysteroscopy in January 2022. Words cannot express how greatful I am to the entire team. From my first consultation to the actual surgery, everything went great and I was very well taken care of. The service was exeptional across the board. Big THANK YOU to Dr. Danilyants and Dr Masghati. They are the best doctors. They are both very professional and knowledgeable. The best decision I ever made was choosing the center for innovative gyn care for my surgery. I am Fibriods free and living my best life!
Dr. Danilyants and her entire staff was warm and helpful on the phone (with zero hold time) and got me in to see her right away. In less than a week, I was scheduled for a supracervical hysterectomy. She and her staff were communicative, knowledgeable, and made me feel at ease. Answered all my questions and were available by phone and email. The surgery went well and my recovery has been amazing. I walked over 1 mile less than 48 hours post-op! Felt great all things considering this was my very first surgery! I also appreciate the 24 hour check-in with one of their amazing nurses. Thank you Dr. Danilyants and staff for all that you do! Your expertise and empathy help so many people. I appreciate what you did for me on so many levels and would recommend you and your staff in a heartbeat. Thank you!
I am so thankful that I sought a second opinion from Dr. MacKoul when my OBGYN recommended a hysterectomy. I did indeed need the procedure but not for the reasons I was originally told. Dr. MacKoul was so patient with my questions and thorough with his exam and preparation prior to surgery. I was told by my OBGYN 3 weeks of recovery time and 4 incisions. Once starting my surgery it was discovered that my amount of scar tissue was significantly more than expected. The majority of surgeons would have had to switch to a full abdominal hysterectomy. Despite that fact that the surgery took longer than expected Dr. MacKoul skill and expertise allowed him to keep it a laparoscopic procedure and I was almost fully back to normal in less than a week. Even within that week my discomfort was very minimal. My friends and family that have had this procedure were amazed at how easily I recovered. I suffered for years with pain and extremely heavy bleeding. I tried birth control, I was told to consider ablation - neither of which would have helped with my Adenomyosis. Dr. MacKoul correctly diagnosed and treated me and has given me my quality of life back. If you are considering a hysterectomy I highly recommend you at least consider meeting with Dr. MacKoul and his team to get a second opinion and evaluate your options. I am so very glad that I did.
Thank you to Dr. Danilyants and the team at the CIGC surgical center. This was the smoothest surgery experience I’ve ever had from consult to scheduling to my actual surgery. Dr. Danilyants is an excellent surgeon who has given me my life back, I cannot thank her enough. The nurses at the center were so sweet and even had gluten free pretzels for me when I woke up :) The anesthesiologist was kind and I felt very confident in her abilities. The whole process was seamless and my recovery has been great with only 2 tiny incisions. Thank you CIGC!
I cant even put into words how thankful I am that I found this place. Dr. Mackoul found a solution to my 2+ decades of suffering, that countless doctors dismissed. All of my concerns were taken seriously, from my very first phone call when the receptionist said there are still many doctors with old school thoughts about endometriosis - I knew I was getting into good hands. Everything since that was great too - the appointments were fast, everyone I interacted with was knowledge and friendly. Hysterectomy went as well as it could. Im 6 weeks out now and cried tears of joy when my first period had no pain. They have a great team there.
For a long time I suffered from chronic debilitating pain that I thought was endometriosis. Turns out I had a very large fibroid. I was scheduled to have surgery at another well known facility but did not feel comfortable with their method, i.e. they used power morcellation. I believe the Lord directed to me to CIGC website and I reluctantly seeked them out because the road had already been long and I was weary, depressed and so uncertain of all I was dealing with. I am so happy I did. Being out of country they made the phoneconsultation easy. I spoke with Dr McKoul and soon enough I was scheduled for surgery. The center is beautiful and everyone was kind, assuring and very professional. Dr McKoul was very honest about what was best for me and his bed side manners made me trust him even more. The surgery went well, I barely required pain meds post op and you would not even know I had a surgery looking at my abdomen. I was very anxious about my follow up because it was obvious that my OBGYN in my home countrys method of watch and see was a poor decision. God used Dr McKoul to help and bring me healing. I have been pain free ever since. CIGC I feel was the best place for me and Dr McKoul is truly one who simply cares about helping you to get better. I pray he continues to care for women as these health issues can be very traumatic and stressful. Thank you Dr McKoul and CIGC!
I apologize for the long review. I held on to my thoughts hoping to see improvement before posting this.I initially located this center after searching centers online for help, following no success with my gyn, an ER visit, and lots of discomfort. I had 2 ovarian cysts, one on each ovary, 22cm on the left, and a smaller one on the right. I was satisfied and relieved with the results of my laproscopic ovarian cystectomy with this center, which was in Nov 2021. Both cysts were successfully removed, with no damage to my ovaries or fallopian tubes. I am so happy and thankful for that. I was also diagnosed with endometriosis. Since then Ive had 2 other minor procedures with this surgical center as a whole. One in Rockville, and one in NJ. Most of the nurses and staff were pleasant and comforting. But, the most recent minor procedure, which was in Dec 2021, and all that has come with it is the overall reason for my change of heart. In Dec 2021, Dr. Mackoul installed a urethral stent, of which he recommended having in place for 7-8 weeks to release fluid that he said built up in my kidney, as a result of the pressure from the 22cm cyst that was removed. After my most recent ultrasound 3 weeks ago, the NP in his office informed me that the results revealed successful fluid release, no more swelling, good placement and no infection. She told me to have a follow up with Dr. M to discuss next steps. A week ago, Dr. Mackoul called to discuss the results. For the 3rd time, as with prior follow ups, he did not call me at the scheduled time. He called randomly, almost 2 hours later, at the end of the day. The convo seemed rushed and took an unpleasant tone. He initially shared the success of the results, saying we needed to remove the stent to avoid infection, as it has been in for 12 weeks. But then, recommended replacing it, which made no sense to me. Upon me asking for clarity, he then, shifted.. to once again, (after I had already declined in prior follow ups), asking me about taking lupron. I reiterated my discomfort with taking lupron because of the crazy long term and some short term side effects (which I had to research), and that I started seeing a reproductive endocrinologist. He then increased his tone, stating that I needed to stop the ovulation process, and that I probably wouldnt have children naturally. As a woman of childbearing age, this was horrible to hear in such a unprofessional tone... especially since my husband and I dont want to give up hope, atleast not without trying first! He kept asking me to tell him who the RE doc was, and the treatment plan. When I shared who it was, and the treatment options, one of which I forgot the proper med term, he began talking about his knowledge based on his research, RANDOMLY stating that the research doesnt show that holistic medicine helps endo. I expressed that I just wanted long term options and to be healthy, which he bypassed. I even told him about the RE docs discovery of a digestive concern and plans for treatment. Very rudely, he stated Well Bravo, she diagnosed a digestive issue, hows she going to treat your endometriosis? Well, since you believe in her and trust her so much..go ahead and listen to her.... He never continued discussing plans to remove my stent, and ended the convo telling me to text him the treatment term when I remember it.... Of which I did that within the same hour, and never got a response! Still havent!I never post reviews like this. Its just been a crazy experience for me. At this point, I just want my stent removed, which was the initial agreement, so I can move forward with healing. All of this has caused unnecessary stress and anxiety..which isnt good for endometriosis, healing, etc. I really really hope I dont have an infection, as I now feel discomfort in the area of the stent. I wish they would get back to me about scheduling to resolve this ASAP. I know I have rights, and this is not how medical professionals should operate or treat their patients.
I was referred here by my ob-gyn for a laparoscopic myomectamy. The surgeon (Mackoul) lacked any bedside manner which I was told in advance. Yet, he is recognized as one of the top physicians for this procedure. Overall, I would rate him as okay. He explained the procedure and what it would entail. Or course with a focus on having surgery and no other options. The office staff were all very professional and pleasant. It was an outpatient procedure and I was sent home hours after having massive fibroids removed. Needless to say I was in extreme pain and had to change pain meds. I ended up back in the ER with an elevated temperature and a ton of pain. Long story short, 3 days in the hospital, high dose pain meds, high blood pressure, blood transfusion and antibiotics. In short, due to the amount of fibroids removed and consequently blood remaining in my uterus, I should not have been sent home without further monitoring. On top of that my iron levels were already low pre surgery. After surgery they were extremely low to the point of needing blood. To make matters worse, billing was a nightmare. I spoke with the financial department about out of pocket costs versus insurance cost pre surgery. In fact, there was a huge litigation with my insurance for duplicate costs to the point of investigation for insurance fraud. Thankfully my insurance handled that and I didnt have to do much but watch all of the denied claims in my mailbox. It was finally resolved over a year later. But, I am still receiving bills from GYN Surgical Center, 17 months later. This is unacceptable and is mostly the reason for this review. It raises a red flag on the ethical practices. My insurance paid out tens of thousands of dollars and the billing department continues to bill me for hundreds of dollars with no detailed explanation of the fees being requested. If you are considering this place, just make sure you get everything in writing, be an advocate for yourself and double check all provided information for yourself.
My office visits pre-surgery went smoothly. Post-op recovery was much better than expected. Great surgery staff that made me feel very comfortable and well cared for. Dr. MacKoul is an excellent surgeon, I had little to no pain post surgery and healed quickly. I’m very grateful my procedure was executed so smoothly.Very nice surgery center that was comfortable for my family and great for me.
I had a myomectomy 12 years ago, but this was by far a better surgical experience. I had a 19 pound fibroid that made me look about 5 months pregnant. My primary doctor told me that I would require a large open surgery with a cut from my groin to the belly button. However, I was lucky enough to know about Dr. Paul MacKoul and Dr. Natalya Danilyants. I had my surgery with them on a Monday and was back to work two weeks later. I was able to stop taking pain pills after three days and was able to drive within 8 days. Ive never experienced a recovery this quick and easy. I had a hysterectomy, this time, but if I ever need another GYN surgery, I will absolutely go to CIGC, again.
The process was easy including the surgery. No pain was back to my normal activities within a day or two. Was able to move around go up and down stairs but I didnt over do it. Alot of friends were pleasantly surprised about my recovery process...Kudos to Dr. Mackoul and his staff. Staff gave excellent service follow ups call, pre op calls, especially after surgery care. It took me a minute to be fully be alert not until a nurse put a cold towel on my face that did it....👍🏼👍🏼
I am so grateful that I found the Center for Inn. GYN Care online. I was told that I had a very large 25cm fibroid, (actually my uterus was 30cm) and that my option was to have an open surgery, with an 8 week recovery period. Even with that large of a fibroid, I wasnt having any symptoms so having major surgery with a long recovery was not really an option; but I also knew that I needed to do something, so I started researching. I came across the Center for Inn. GYN Care, and their website was very informative and actually gave me hope that I could have these fibroids removed as an out patient! Literally EVERYONE who I spoke to or emailed were extremely helpful, kind, friendly and very informative. After my surgery was scheduled, I received pre-op, post-op information packets. They sent me the lab work that I needed to have done, oh did I tell you that I live in Los Angeles, CA? Yes! Their travel program is absolutely 100% helpful, I stayed at the Even Hotel, which I highly recommend. Never once did I have to request anything from the staff at the Center for Inn. GYN Care, they were always one step ahead of me! I had my surgery at the Holy Cross Hospital, and 2 days later I was flying back to California. Dr. Mackoul is a miracle worker, truly! Yes, I did feel some discomfort the days following my surgery, but I didnt need to take any pain medication, and Ive been up and around. Its been 2 weeks since my surgery, and I am thrilled that I followed my intuition and flew across the country for this procedure. Family and friends did not understand why in the world I would fly to Washington DC, when we have UCLA Medical Center, Cedar Sinai Med. Ct.., and many other wonderful medical institutions right here in Los Angeles, and the simple is, that none of them offer what the Center for Innovative GYN Care, offered me; Dr. McKoul was able to remove my 30cm uterus, as an out patient, and I was on a six hour flight back home 2 days later, no one was able to offer that to me, other than the Center for Innovative GYN Care.
I had a large 19cm mass that needed to be removed off of my left ovary. The GYN i saw in my home town wanted to cut me from my naval past my belly button due to the size of the mass. Thats when i found Dr. D and I am SO THANKFUL i did. We didnt know what to expect going in before surgery because no one was sure what the mass was. It ended up being stage 4 endometriosis and Dr. D said some of the worst she has ever seen, which was shocking to me. She was able to remove it all laparoscopically and how much she got out was very shocking to say the least, im not sure many other surgeons could have done what she did so minimally invasive. I was up and walking around for an entire day 3 days after my surgery. My incisions are healing beautifully and are barely noticeable. She really did an amazing job and i would definitelygo back to her should i need anything else done. I traveled from Michigan to Maryland for this surgery and I feel like myself again. HIGHLY recommended the Center for Innovative GYN care.
Recently my daughter had surgery and their team is the best. Caring, extremely knowledgeable, suberb quality, and has given her life back when most doctors in this field are clueless. Day after surgery felt relief. Other GYN doctors wanted to push drugs with serious side effects. If you want the best go here.
Dr. Paul MacKoul has given me the freedom to live my life again! After eight years of heavy menstrual cycles, occurring approximately every two weeks and multiple ultrasounds and painful biopsies of my uterus and cervix (not to mention the cost of these procedures), my regular OBGYN, who I respect and admire dearly, suggested my only recourse would be to have a hysterectomy (I did have multiple fibroids which would disappear and reappear during this time, but with no pain). She reiterated that this would require 3 small incisions, but possibly a conversion if the uterus was too large. It also required a hospital stay and a 6-8 week period of recuperation to follow. I do not have time with work and my busy schedule to allow this. It simply was out of the question.I was, and always had been adamant about not having a hysterectomy and figured at the age of 50 that I could hold out as I should be going into menopause soon enough. However, curiosity got the best of me and I started my research! After many hours of online research and finally discovering and reading about Dr. Paul MacKoul and the ICGC, I knew my decision was an easy one.I made the call for a consult and spoke with the professional staff at ICGC & Dr. MacKoul. He was very professional and answered all of my questions. The decision was an easy one.I flew to Maryland from Wyoming, had my partial hysterectomy (uterus only) around noon, woke up with no abdominal pain and was able to leave shortly after. The next day I was able to walk (3.5 miles) with still no pain, other than the CO2 gas, which they use in most laparoscopic procedures, which presented as shoulder pain. This shoulder pain lasted for approximately five days, however I had no other pain what so ever! I flew back home two days after surgery and was able to go back to work in 6 days, and honestly, I probably could have gone back at 4 days.Simply an amazing procedure. I have one very minimal scar at my pubic bone as Dr. MacKoul also went through the belly button, so no scar is visible at this site. The front office staff, nurses, anesthesiologist and Dr. MacKoul were all highly professional, courteous and thorough throughout this process. They made it very easy and comfortable to have surgery out of state.Dr. MacKoul followed up with me a couple of weeks later to let me know that I had adenomyosis and quite a large uterus. He said that most OBGYNs do not catch this on ultrasound as it doesnt show up.As a side note, I did urinate quite frequently and just thought it was because I drink a lot of water. Dr. MacKoul asked me before surgery if I urinated frequently and I told him I did. After finding out the size of my uterus I can see why I probably urinated so frequently. After having my hysterectomy, I do not urinate nearly as much. An added bonus! If you are hesitant to have a hysterectomy, please see or visit with Dr. Paul MacKoul. He is an outstanding surgeon and certainly has given me new life in being able to do the things I have always done, without having to worry about hemorrhaging.I couldnt be more pleased with Dr. Paul MacKoul and the Center for Innovative Gynecological Care.
Simply the best! Dr. Natalya Danilyants performed my surgery and provided the best care possible. I highly recommend her and this facility. Everyone that I spoke with from beginning to finish was professional, helpful, and addressed every question or concern that I had. I am very thankful I was a candidate for their available procedures. All other surgeons told me open surgery was the only option for me. Dr. Natalya proved them wrong! My health improved significantly with her help. 5 stars is not nearly enough!!!! Dont hesitate to check with them on helping you. Reach out with confidence.
Dr. MacKoul was fantastic. Look. It’s not like women are super psyched to get a hysterectomy. Plus everyone tells you it’s like, THE last resort. So when you’re looking into it, you want to feel like you’re being led in the right direction. My top rated obgyn had me at a full surgery with a 6-8 week, out of work recovery. Thankfully, I was obsessing over what I could expect and googling message boards when I kept running into the term “minimally invasive.” I asked my obgyn what I was getting, and that certainly wasn’t it nor would they perform it. So I started looking around.Im a person who likes straight forward info, especially when it comes to health. Dr. MacKoul was patient in listening to me, but at the same time very concise with his thoughts, which really made me feel like he knew what he was doing. So I ended up canceling my surgery with my obgyn and going to this man I never met. And it was WELL worth it. The surgical center was awesome. Staff was great, place was clean, everyone was just great. I had NO idea this type of thing existed. Thankfully I had the good luck to find Dr. MacKoul before it was too late. Results? I walked a mile and a half just 7 days after surgery. I honestly couldnt be happier.
Dr. MacKoul is an excellent doctor. The nurses were very friendly, however they were unable to find my veins to place the IV so my arms are extremely bruised due to being poked four times in one arm and three times in the other arm. My experience with the surgical scheduling was absolutely horrible. I spoke with someone named Emily and she was very rude and not helpful at all. She provided me with incorrect information concerning blood test, post op information, and overall scheduling information. The overall procedure went well.
From initial visit through surgery everything was thoroughly explained and concerns were addressed. All interaction was positive and I was made comfortable throughout the whole experience. The Doctor took the time to explain & illustrate what I was unsure of and did give me options instead of trying to persuade me. Follow up calls were also efficient. Overall pleasant, uncomplicated experience, quick recovery and no scars. Highly recommend!
I dont complain about the knowledge and experience of the Doctors and the nurse practitioner, but the interaction with the patients is practically null because we need to push a lot to receive a general explanation about our problems. Besides, the staff is terrible, the worst I have ever dealt with. They tried to charge me two times my first consultation, even when I paid it the same day. Six months later I received a horrible notification saying that my account was going to be referred to special handling and collection. Fortunately I had all my receipts, so I was able to solve the problem. At the end I was requested to start with another doctor, because they were not able to continue working on my specific case, but again when I asked to the staff to send my records to my new doctor they didnt do anything until two hours before the consultation! At least I deserved an apologize for all the inconveniences they caused, but always the response was very rude. Guys, you are dealing with people, and we deserve respect.
I was looking for specialty care; particularly a minimally invasive treatment for my fibroid removal. I also split time between the US and Africa and needed a treatment that accommodated my travel schedule. Fertility was a major consideration for me as well and Dr. Mackoul was very keen on providing care and advice consistent with my near-term reproductive health goals.
Do your research before you agree to a procedure here. Go to a large hospital center for 2nd and even 3rd opinion. My experience at the Rockville office was bad; Ive never had such a quick appointment with a doctor before. I saw the female, Dr. Danilyants and immediately, the first thing she said was that I need a hysterectomy. She never examined me physically, just looked at my lab report. I was in there for five minutes, thats all. Worst appointment Ive ever had at a doctors office. Johns Hopkins does robotic myomectomies and other less evasive procedures where they can save your uterus. Also, there is a doctor in CA who invented this procedure that ablates the fibroid through laparoscopic surgery as well called acessa procedure. There are MANY other procedures they have now that have been quite successful WITHOUT the need to remove your uterus. Do your research. Its not necessary to take drastic measures in fibroid treatment anymore.TO THE RESPONDENT OF MY POSTING:First, you dont know who I am or know my case so making a blanket statement about my treatment needs or desires were way off. Im not looking for IVF, never have been. Just the least invasive procedure possible to preserve my uterus, because that is MY CHOICE.Ive spoken to many physicians about my treatment options and ALL so far are concerned primarily with doing the least invasive procedure as possible and NOT going straight to hysterectomy if thats not what I want. Most physicians Ive spoke with will only do hysterectomy if the patient request it or if absolutely necessary for overall patient health. For NONE of them, was it the first choice. In addition, Ive had comprehensive evaluations with a few physicians, which included physical exams, lengthy discussions and Im proceeding with additional test before final treatment choices are made. The appointment I had there was sub at best, not even close to experiences Ive had with many physicians, including my primary care over the years.Maybe you should work on your bedside manner there and take time to have broader discussion with patients. Dont be so quick to jump to the most drastic option. If it is the patient request, then fine.My message to all your future patients is, there are multiple options for you, NO MATTER THE SIZE OR NUMBER of fibroids you have; dont be fooled. Do you research, take your time and evaluate your options. Get at least THREE opinions before you decide. This is your body, treat it well, and dont be talked into anything you dont want or may not be necessary.
I went to the Center for Innovative GYN Care and met with Dr. Mackoul. He was great to meet with, professional and diligent. I was pleased to see that he didn’t immediately recommend surgery and instead listened to my concerns. He thoroughly looked over my issues, giving me an honest answer of what level of treatment was appropriate.I highly recommend CIGC.
Id recommend Dr. MacKoul without any hesitation! Hes knowledgeable, hes an excellent surgeon, he spent time with me to explain what was going on and what my options were, he has great office staff (which figures right up there when it comes to patient/doctor interactions). Appointments were easy to schedule as well as surgery, pristine office and have never had to wait a long time to be seen. Also, I trust him completely when it comes to my healthcare. Five stars on a five star scale!
Initially my review was positive. I have had to amend this in light of the back and forth of recent. Please beware. CGICs billing is a nightmare. Its over a year later and bills that were assured were not my responsibility are arriving, including letters about power of attorney. The billing phone number provided, when called, states that the mailbox is full. This is the same message I have received EVERY time I have tried to call. I had to email customer service to request a call back. Billing assured me I had no bill, yet I am still getting random bills and letters.I have steered a few friends away who were thinking of scheduling here.Better Business also lists similar complaints. Do your research before scheduling!!!
There was an error in the center email system, no one was receiving my inquiries but, everything has been taken care of and I have my appointment tomorrow. Mimi has been awesome to work with as well. I owe Brandi an apology. Brandi, please accept my apology somehow I thought you were at fault.
Dr. Kim is awesome and staff is absolutely fantastic ! The nurse even held my hand through my procedure!! the receptionist was very professional andmade you feel at home. To the negative review. I have lived long enough to know that we are in charge of our own perspectives- which is the gateway towards whatever energy that goes away from us or towards us.
Dr. Baxi is amazing. I made an appointment with Innovative GYN after hearing about them on my radio station. I was dealing with some pain that I had seen 5 other doctors for and had 6 unsuccessful surgeries, and never was the source of the pain found (within a 20 year timeframe). After initially meeting with Dr. Baxi, I explained all symptoms. He explained in great detail what he thought was going on with me. The next step was setting up my procedure. After the procedure, Dr. Baxi successfully identified what all the pain was from & correct the issue. I highly recommend Dr. Baxi & Innovative GYN.
Had the best experience had a hysterectomy no down time , went to mall next day. Went to Hard Rock Cafe day after that. Next day went to see downtown dc. Took it easy but had no pain , didn’t have to take pain medicine would highly recommend facility
My experience with CIGC Rockville was exceptional! The smiles when I walked in the door, being welcomed by each staff member....this is a rarity in today’s world. The office was clean and beautiful and very calming. Although the drive to this office from my home is over an hour, it is worth the drive. Thank you, CIGC Rockville, for bringing back good old-fashioned customer service with a smile!
I had an ultrasound there. The technician was good, the problem was that the office never told me that they are out of network with Carefirst and they sent me a bill for over $1100! Had I known, I would have gone to Shady grove radiology or lots of other places that accept my insurance and get that sonogram done. They did not do anything special there!Bottom line is that they were not transparent and were not honest with me about being out of network. So, I have to unfortunately pay that!!!
The Center for Innovative Gyn Care was great, they have the best customer service. I had issues what so ever after my surgery and would recommend them to everyone. Awesome group of people!
I am really happy with my experience with Dr. Danilyants and her staff. She is a good listener and takes the time to answer your questions. I would highly recommend her for your surgical GYN needs.
My questions were answered in person or by email (after my consult). I really like being able to email the doctors with non urgent questions. The recovery time was very quick and I never needed pain medication. I was able to resume normal activities quickly.
My whole experience was amazing. The staff is professional. My nurses were wonderful. Dr. Mackoul was exceptional. I recommend CICG to everyone. It is the best decision I ever made!
First, I want to give 5 Stars for the clinical care I received from the Center and then, 5 Stars for the ease of working with the Billing Dept. They were interpersonally competent, and professional and responsive in their dealings with us. It was a great experience all the way around.
This place is full of amazing professionals. I have never had medical service and treatment is good anywhere else. I was treated like I mattered, employees went out of their way to help me get everything ready to have surgery and Dr. Baxi is a top notch surgeon!! There is not enough stars for this place; I highly recommend it. They changed my life after not being taken serious by so many other doctors.
Best care Ive ever received. From scheduling my appointment to them checking in the day after surgery, I was never just another patient. Great care, compassionate staff and a excellent experience. I highly recommend them!
