After my appointment ended, I was told to sit down in the lobby to close out and see if there was anything else needed - EXACTLY 30 minutes go by and I had to go up to the receptionist and ask if there was anything else - she said I was good to go, so I told her I was waiting and she said “oh sorry I didn’t know you were there.” Meanwhile she was talking to her coworker about some outside of work gossip. I hope when I come back in 3 months my next visit is better and more professional.
Dr. S was so kind and considerate. I arrived 15 minutes early and was able to be seen for my 10am appointment on time. The atmosphere was calm and the front staff were kind.
Came here for an iud and the fact that I had to wait over 2 hours to be seen would be bad enough on its own, but they also refuse to provide ANY pain management whatsoever for a notoriously painful procedure. This is unconscionable and bordering on medical malpractice. Doctor and staff were rude, cold, pushy and dismissive. Please, for your comfort and sanity, find a real gynecologist and go there.
Came here after getting my iud put in incorrectly at the other planned parenthood location and having to get it taken out. I made a appointment that they agreed on to now try out the birth control implant because of how wrong my iud went and a couple days before the appointment I get a call that they don’t have a provider and they need to reschedule… no worries… mistakes happen… so I reschedule. I drive a hour and a half over there right from work to get the implant, when I get there I already get bad vibes from the girl at the front because she was being rude and short with me. I get called to the back, and she then tells me that my referral is for a different location…. EVEN THO MY APPOINTMENT IS AT THIS LOCATION, AND THATS WHO I CALLED TO SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT. so I drove a hour and a half over here for no reason. I have had nothing but bad experiences using the planned parenthood’s in San Antonio.
A few things went wrong with my scheduling as I had booked an 11 am slot but I wasnt on the schedule, they were able to fit me in however for a 2:00 pm appointment the same day for an emergency IUD. The waiting was a good while as I was in the lobby for over an hour, which was a bit tedious. However the staff and the welcoming environment made it worth it. The nurse was a blonde woman with a pink shirt she very nice towards me, straightforward/blunt about my care, and very supportive. During insertion the staff was very good with comforting me and being honest about the procedure. In the end I also paid a low cost through a sliding scale program provided. I absolutely hated the waiting and mix up but everything else made this appointment less nerve-wracking and worth it.I would ignore some of the negative reviews as this place had the most caring staff but unfortunately they were backed up on seeing people on time due to a shortage.
I love this location its very nice and clean. The ladies are so nice and helpful , sweet , and professional. Charlene is really helpful and makes this more comfortable and very knowledgeable.i never me anyone like her ,shes wonderful. . And the nurse p Malina was so helpful and nice . They really make u feel no stress while you are there and help u with everything. I appreciate them and recommend this location to everyone needing a doctor/obgyn/woman doctor .
1 star, and Im not upset that I cant give 0 stars simply because the receptionists and nurses were sweet. However, theattending physician, or whatever people like to call her, is very much rude. Black hair, glasses, really bad attitude. She puts off a vibe that she doesnt want to be there. She acts like she knows EVERYTHING. When I asked questions, she didnt know the answers, basically told me in a long winded way that she didnt know the answers, and then asked me in a rude and sarcastic tone if i had any more questions.Shes very condescending and is not someone you would want help from during stressful health related situations.** To the Reception/Nurses at this location - youre doing great and you make health related visits a lot less scary with your positivity and kindness.
I was really skeptical about going to this location because of the reviews but it was actually wonderful. I made an appointment to complete the most extensive STDs they offer. I called the location and was able to confirm that this location accepted my insurance and was able to make an appointment the very next day. The receptionist (Shelby I think) was very kind and answered all my questions. The doctor/nurse (Candy) I saw regarding my tests was incredibly nice and had wonderful bedside manner. She was gentle while taking my blood work and answered all my questions thoughouly and without judgement. The only complaint I have was the wait time was longer than I expected. I made my appointment for 4:30, arrived 15 minutes early like I was told to, and I didnt leave till around 6:30. I was sitting in the lobby for more than an hour, but theres a huge nurse shortage across the country so I dont really blame them for this. I dont expect any specialty doctors office to not take a while. Once I was out of the lobby, the tests only took around 20.Overall I would go to this location again. The wait time was worth the service I got.
Go to another location! My provider Michelle Torres was terrible. To start she came in with an attitude and was very condescending! She tried to tell me what she was going to do with my own body and made me feel like I had no say in it. Whenever I had a question she would answer it sarcastically or get defensive. Did not make me feel comfortable at all. As a healthcare provider she should be making her patients feel comfortable and be actively listening to their concerns!!When it came to actually doing the procedure, Michelle had to numb me with the injection. The first injection did not work and even though I was in pain, the provider Michelle Torres showed lack of empathy and was a bit pushy for me to go on even though it hurt. When I received the second injection, it still did not want to go numb. I did NOT want to proceed at that point but I could see provider was getting impatient. I didn’t feel like she knew what she was doing because I have had this procedure done before and never had issues/a terrible experience like this! However, when I told her I wasn’t sure I wanted to proceed, she pressured me into proceeding. I will be getting it checked by another provider once the swelling goes down. Really disappointed in the service I received. I will not be returning!
Went for gender affirming care. Everybody here is super nice, and the whole experience was very affirming and still warms my heart.
Went here several times over the course of maybe two years. They were the only place I knew at the time which could provide me with the services I needed. They were always professional and yet after experiencing the service I got at a different location I cant say I ever want to go back. The one on Babcock, to my surprise, did in fact accept my insurance, but every single time I went here my insurance never went through. So in the end I could have saved hundreds of dollars if I just drove someplace else. Not to mention there has been occasions where I set up an appointment 2 weeks in advance, come in on time, and they say I never had an appointment. Another time, which was the worst, I made an appointment as usual, I got 3 verification/reminder texts leading up to the date of the appointment, I got an 2 email reminders of the same appointment, and yet when I drove all the way out there they had put a sign on the door saying they were closed for training new employees. They did not notify me of this, and I got all those appointment reminders lead up to it, the last one was even just an hour before I was supposed to be there. I waited, knocked, called their number several times, but after doing that for over 10 minutes it was clear they had failed to do their jobs correctly and/or did not care. I had a time sensitive prescription which needed to be filled and I was lucky that they had another opening before I completely ran out. They might be professional in the moment, but dependable they are not. In addition, they say they send my prescription electronically to the pharmacist, but surprise surprise the pharmacist has never recieved it that way even once. I had to give them a paper verified prescription every single time, and forget letting the pharmacist trying to call the doctor to verify the prescription directly, because the doctor literally put them on hold for about 2 hrs. leaving me waiting for my prescription the entire time. Not to even mention the fact that this location isnt in the best part of town. Got the impression that drugs were common place and the people who hung around outside sometimes looked fairly sketchy. There was even a police officer with a dog searching for something in the next parking lot over, at the very least, I never once felt safe going there all by myself.Trust me, if you can manage the drive, go to the Babcock location instead. no matter how hard it may be to get there, IT IS WORTH IT. They charged me 70% less because they actually accepted my insurance when this place did not. Babcock had people who treated me like my life, my situation, mattered. They listened to my concerns completely before dismissing them. They informed me properly without leaving out the explanation as to why they thought something was best for me. Go to Babcock and leave this place in the dust.
Its so hard to write a review about this location... The drs and nurses are so sweet and kind. Im the type to ask tons of questions and it sometimes takes time for me to process things and they treated me with patience and understanding from the moment I went to the back to the moment I returned to the lobbyHowever, my experience with the receptionist was not ideal. I dont know if she was having a bad day or what but she was impatient and abrasive. I had needed some medical paperwork for work filled out by the dr and she just brushed me off and said something about sending it to corporate. She was unable to answer my questions as to why the dr i saw that day couldnt fill it out and she was so callous and dismissive that i simply left the paperwork with her and didnt question further as between the pain im in medically and her attitude i couldnt justify staying longerAll in all, my experience at this location was meh. Id give one star if the staff that treated me wasnt so kind, the receptionist just soured my experience so much
I wish I can give this location less then one star, very incompetent workers the could not take a blood simple for pregnancy test, my blood was on the floor and my clothes almost damaged my vine , the second nurse tried the other hand and it looks like it’s her first time do it . They didn’t have the proper chair to take blood she used a covered box to hold up my hand. The don’t have the proper uniform for the job and no name tags too. This is not a property where you can preform this type of job. Very very bad service and experience.
It was my first time at a Planned Parenthood and I am so glad I went to this location. Although the wait was a bit long, it was completely understandable since I was a walk-in patient. The receptionist, nurse, and doctor that I interacted with today were all so sweet and comforting. Very happy with my experience!
This is my go to planned parenthood location and my experience today was wonderful! Amanda (NP) was amazing and made me feel super comfortable during my appointment. I felt no judgment whatsoever. :) Thank you
Paid $80 even though I have no job. They assured me my prescription would be only $20, even though I begged them to give me a different prescription because I knew it would be expensive. It was $900. For the generic version. I called them asking for a new prescription (nicely) 3-4 times. Nobody ever returned my call or provided one. I couldnt afford to go again to request another prescription in person because of the $80 fee.
I went there for some procedures. They asked for insurance. I gave them my info, & they told me how much it would be. I then get a bill in the mail. I thought I had paid all I needed to. I just dont understand why they couldnt have informed me of all the costs up front. If so, it would have effected which procedures I would have said yes to. I called their billing department & left a message, but havent got a reply. . . just wish they would have been up front about billing.
I made an appointment here, took off work, and then when I arrived they said they dont do the service I required. Horrible service
I was very hesitant about going in, especially after reading the views. I have never been to a Planned Parenthood and was expecting the worst. Despite what the reviews had said, everyone was very nice and helpful. Sure, I had to wait a little bit, but that is to be expected.
Girlfriend had an appt here that I brought her to. Rude staff, no one greets you and the clerk up front appears to hate her job. We arrived early and still waited quite some time before being called back. Then they have her waiting In the room naked from the waist down for over 30 minutes waiting on the doctor. Our baby and I waited in the Waiting room that is way to hot, Both of us beading sweat on our foreheads, where we nearly completed an entire second viewing of the same tired feature length movie that was on repeat. Place is just trash.
Dont go to planned parenthood at all doesnt matter which state which city take your health to someone who actually cares about you and not just getting your money. Unless youre getting a procedure or getting birth control (Id still be skeptical) I dont reccomend this place for care. Most of the staff are rude and seem to hate their jobs theyll give you one price then surcharge you. This place reminds me of a Back Alley clinic.
I do not like this place at all. The phone lines are always busy. They never answer. I set up an appointment the day I want it but they will make an appointment when its easier for them. They say theyre open on Saturdays and I went in at 10am to make an appointment(because the phones werent answering) and the doors were locked. Dont ever go to this place, they really dont care about your health even if its an emergency.
Very confusing billing system. The price kept changing. I had to pay $140 new patient fee that I was not informed of until after receiving service. I was billed an additional $96 the day after my office visit.
The receptionist (I think her name was Shelby) and the nurse that saw me were friendly and helpful but the actual gynecologist was cold and had bad bedside manner. Will not be returning.
Come in the mornings, they are typically much quicker to see patients/get things done than in the afternoons.
Timothy P Spurrell MD made me feel very safe and comfortable. Would definitely go again if needed
The day before my appointmet they called me and said that the appointment was cancled due to no proveders available even though it was secheled over a week earlier..
I come here for HRT. Sometimes I have to wait awhile, but theyre always good to me, and once I get in the back Im out and on my way within 20 minutes.
They prescribed me the incorrect medication and then would not correct it unless I paid for another telehealth appointment out of pocket.
Waited more than an hour to get my implant birth control. The waiting was the worst but the workers were very friendly and nice.
Doctor was a little rude... i have one child and she made it seem like i shouldnt have anymore... 😒 maybe she should tell that to people who have 5 kids and still want more and cant afford them or dont take care of the ones they already have...
They should definitely fire the girl who answers the phone. Her name is Denise. Not professional at all and rude.
The receptionist was great super friendly no wait time. Id recommend this location.
They were very helpful in making me feel comfortable and answering all my questions. I really appreciate them for all their help
Very helpful staff and very knowledgeable, professional and nice
Literally lied to my face, sent me to other location just for them to tell me misinformation.
Makes you wait soooooo long. I am just here for refills and yet they make you wait for a looooooooooong time.
I love it. They’re so nice. And very informative.
It says free pregnancy testing , false not free its $40 for blood test and $20 for urine test.
Everyone here is so nice and helpful!
Don’t waste your time here. Find a better location if possible.
Candy, the receptionist, is extremely rude for no reason.
Thank you for all the services you provide
Shelby really nice great service
Its ok
Love the staff, friendly and caring
Very polite and quick
