Importing my review from two years ago from Dr Waterfallen’s rating since it applies to the whole office. Still wish I could give zero stars. For years, I reported a medical malfeasance that results in me being PEC’d when I was pregnant with my first. See I have several medical conditions, some of which he missed and almost resulted in my baby’s death and mine.I was worried about the Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, etc due to my medical history (suicide attempt at 12, I was 28 when I saw him), my husband’s job being bought out mid pregnancy, having to switch insurances, remodel on my hospital of choice which temporarily had limited space for delivery (wasn’t disclosed to me when I spoke to the hospital staff until I was 27 weeks attending the registration seminar) which meant I may be turned away, and had hypermisis(sp?) while trying to juggle being a full time student in the hopes to finish my degree before my child’s first birthday. Instead the front desk miss scheduled me to show up on Waterfallen’s surgery day. The NP, Kristen Howard, and a student nurse practitioner lied to me (implied I was going to the hospital Waterfallen was at), lied to ER staff (where I was deprived of food and water for 10 hours while waiting for a ambulance transfer to WK South which has a mental ward and NICU) at the WK across the street where Waterfallen was, a brand new resident got my case and PEC’d me because there was no Pysch creditals there AND he had “never encountered a depressed patient before let alone a pregnant one”. I was stripped searched, co Ed floor Pysch ward, fartherest east from the nurse station, never checked on me while sleeping (falsified medical records stating the did as I was too scared to sleep and my roommate had put a chair in front of the door), roommate was manic and combative, not even a shower curtain on the bathroom I shared that FACED THE MALE SECTION AND COMMON AREAS, not allowed to wear my own clothes, plastic mattress, one flat pillow, one weak thin sheet, saw my alcove neighbor get forcefully tranqed, forced to get out of bed when I was having painful contractions (Braxton hicks plus my uterine issues) and were going to force me to have Howard do a pelvic exam on me even though I said she was not allowed to touch me; but at least they didn’t send me to Brentwood like the ER doc wanted because the beds were full at WK South. After all this, I was released when I was finally able to talk to a Pysch doctor the next day who confirmed that everyone was trying to “CYA” and refused to listen. And I suffer from word vomit due to the fear of being misunderstood (well geez that fear came true and I was deprived of all my freedoms and quality access to health care).I dropped the OBGYN group as soon as my very active maternal anxiety would allow. They tried to make me have a sit down chat to get my medical paperwork from them. I waited 20 mins for someone to “chat” with me but surprise NO ONE cared so I left after 20 mins of sitting at his nurses desk. Waiting. After I spoke with my insurance telling them they are only to paid up to that date (issue when switching), I was able to find an OBGYN after three weeks of calls to every office that took my insurance in a 100 mile radius.Turns out, I’m a high risk pregnancy which was missed due to improper care & missed items on the ultrasounds early on. I went into preterm labor again after that incident. I had to have an emergent csection because my body cannot physically deliver a child. The staff also scheduled me for 3PM glucose test that I had to repeat do to a one point outside of normal range but I hadn’t eaten past when I went to bed at nine pm per the NPO after midnight orders. I had medical crash in his office waiting for him to see me after the first test.It may have changed since 2015 but I firmly believe that myself or son would have died in their care. Thanks to them I have huge therapy & physical medical bills. I have PTSD. I have never openly trusted any medical personal again. All it took was losing rights to my body & son for 26 hrs.
I scheduled an appointment with Obgyn Associates of Shreveport because I wanted an IUD. But since I talked to the lady on the phone I realized that this office likes to over prescribe some labs. The first lab that was unnecessary was the Pap smear. I tried to explain the front desk lady that I had one less than 2 years before. She said I could talk to the nurse about it but they do it every year, no matter the situation. I talked to the nurse but she refused to make the procedure without a new Pap smear. I just wanted to get my IUD so I accepted to have a new Pap smear in less than 3 years, the time recommended by FM and Gynecology medical associations. The second unnecessary lab that was asked me was an urine pregnancy test when I was on birth control pills and ... bleeding. I asked them how was it possible. The nurse assistant probably didn’t like all the questions I was making and started to have some passive aggressive behaviors such as telling me that I should know how doctor’s offices are cold and that I should bring a coat next time when I asked her if she could make my room warm when I was NAKED waiting for the nurse to come and make the exam.Another situation that made me sad about this place is that was told me my insurance would cover all the exams, procedure, and the IUD but that I would have to pay $ 30 for the ultrasound to make sure it was at the right place. However, this value was charged me twice and suddenly they said the consultation was not covered by the insurance.I am giving two stars because of the nurse job and her patient to answer my questions and for treating me good. I know she was there to make her job ... and follow instructions.Anyway, I hope I won’t get to come back to this place again.
If I could put no stars that would definitely be my option. For them to require you to show up on time and have all these stipulations and penalties for not being on time in place for the patient yet they are NEVER on time. They charge you excessive amounts for cancellation, late arrival or no show, but give you one time to arrive and have another time in the system. Send you and as many others they have room for to the back and tell the same lie that the doctor will be right in. When in actuality he’s not even on the premises. While the patient will be waiting an hour or more to be seen after whatever the scheduled time was, like people don’t have other stuff to do. No consideration for the patient time. My recommendation is go to another obgyn that values your time and yourself as a patient.
My girlfriend and I had a pregnancy scare and went to get a blood test to know for sure, they told us they would call her with the results the next day.1. They did not call until the very end of the day after we had to call them twice.2. They would not tell us the results over the phone like they said they would but instead said they would tell us at her follow up appointment the next day. This sent us into a spiral of worrying as it made us believe the results would be positive.3. At the follow up appointment, my girlfriend asked if I could go back there with her and we were met with a cold, “Do you need him to?” by the nurse. When my girlfriend explained that we wanted to hear the results together, the nurse nonchalantly announced the results to us in the waiting room so I would not go back there with her.Pregnancy is a massive change in anyones life, whether we were attempting to have a child or not the doctor should have taken our requests more seriously. If the test results were positive would I have been able to accompany my girlfriend without any resistance from your staff? Either way the situation should have been dealt with with more professionalism from your staff.
I am going to deliver in the next week. I have used this doctors office for the second half of my pregnancy. Hands down the best doctor I have ever used. Dr. Waterfallen is very informative, but also very personable. The nurses are all so sweet. Amanda makes me feel so comfortable. The receptionists are just so welcoming. They make coming to the doctor so much more enjoyable.
All appointments weve been to throughout my wifes pregnancy have been on time, staff is always friendly and helpful, ultrasound tech is very thorough and helpful, and Dr Cassiere is the best!! Highly recommended.
Require you to show up on time but they don’t have to stick to the scheduled appointment so you can and will most likely will be waiting an hour or more to be seen after whatever the scheduled time was, my recommendation is go to another obgyn that values your time and yourself as a patient.
They put my IUD in wrong and had to redo it. It was so painful and completely preventable the doctor said so herself
